Articial meat, made, not from animal tissue, but from spun soya protein, has been around for several decades, and this in turn is a descendant of the ‘nut cutlets’ which gave vegetarians in the middle years of the 20th century the opportunity to sink their teeth into something at least analogous to esh.

  • This is just a new presentation on a very old theme, which is to eat whole foods rather than refined foods. Dr. Norman Walker, Dr. Max Gerson, Harvey Diamond, and on, and on. There are a few minor variations, such as the pressure cooking, but one has to remember pressure cookers haven’t always been around and people survived eating foods as-is. I eat almost exclusively vegan, the only exception being my lunches out with friends, which I keep to a dull roar. Maybe once or twice a month. I don’t feel deprived or lack for energy, and I’m able to resist lots of seasonal colds and flus. I find when I stray and eat a hamburger or omelet at a restaurant, I so enjoy it as a treat, but I pay for it almost immediately with bloating and skin eruptions. I’m telling you, if you keep your diet clean, the odd time you eat meat, or refined foods, your body will kick your butt for the insult. I usually have to detox for a couple of days after. But I do it because I like the treat and the socialization.

  • i called in sick on the day we were to dissect frogs in the 8th grade science class, long before i became aware of the suffering i was inflicting by participating in the ritual torture and slaughter of the animals i was consuming. on some level, we know the Truth.

  • You could do videos eating only food of a certain colour! Like a red day with bell pepper, lentils or beans, berries, red rice and so on! Or a day of greens/ green food only would be really cool too:))

  • Brian, seems like you’re trying to make yourself feel better with non argument arguments bro. Sad. Hope you find the peace within. OneLove

  • Going to a vegan diet actually improved my digestive issues immensely. I rarely have any pain or diarrhoea anymore, but the constant bloat will not budge. I went to see a doctor about it and they wanted to do all sorts of expensive diagnostic tests such as a Sibo breath test, ultrasounds, stool tests etc but I cannot afford it so……

  • In Brazil they’re cutting up the woods just to sell the wood and the land that is left is cheap land for sale and cattle farmers also buy that land because it is cheap. The land is also used to grow soy (for humans and pigs, mostly for china) or maybe even coffee beans.

  • Would have loved it if you shared the blood work info. Also, you have the shirtless Pic, but never stated which twin was on which diet in that Pic.

  • Yeeees,, colour challenge please At the end, one day of only eating meals that contain all the rainbow colours! To start out i would recommend red and green, then yellow, beige/orange and then the hard blue/purple

  • Why are sweet potatoes vegetables but white not? Also I get those purple skin white flesh potatoes from asian shops too and they’re called Columbian potatoes, only place I can get purple flesh ones too! Aren’t they high in calories though?? And less nutritious because they’re white flesh? Also regarding sweet potatoes, I’ve found a red skin bright yellow flesh sweet potato called a Jamaican sweet potato very similar to a Japanese sweet potato and it’s really really dense compared to regular sweet potato and tastes like chestnut, would these be higher calorie or are all potato varieties exactly the same?

  • In china people get more sick when they have money to buy more animal products but in america poor people have more sickness when they have to buy mostly cheap plant based products? Doesn’t add up to me. Maybe chinese just eat more of the western fast food and processed stuff and that’s why they’re getting sick?

  • In Germany it’s called Hausmannskost and it means traditional food mostly containing alot of meat. Making it vegan always gets me nostalgic as well (: especially the filled cabbage I will definitely try!!

  • I wonder why so many people are still complaining of cancer, well most people haven’t be lucky enough to meet with a helper. I was very lucky to meet with Dr abumere he is a herbal healer I saw a testimony on how he has been helping people get cured from all forms of cancer I was having cancer for 2years I tried all i could to get rid of it but there where no result. I was online and I saw a comment of how the same Dr abumere help someone cured HIV/AID so i decided to contact him if he can help me. We discussed and he gave me his herbal mixture. 1 week after taking the herbal mixture I began to see changes finally am cured from cancer. You too can be cured from any form of cancer, so contact him with his email  [email protected] Whatsapp +2349021975055. Your faith will only determine.

  • mushrooms are fungus so would snow fungus n cloud ear black fungus qualify it is in much chinese cuisine. I never hear you talk about apple cider vinegar, what do you think of them? So we can’t eat almonds with skin on, aiyoh! No cashew nuts, no almonds, no peanuts, sad!

  • My bloating started a few years ago and its so bad, every single thing I eat, my stomach extended and my belly button sticks out, the gas is so embarrassing and I feel like its ruining my relationships because honestly who would want to be around that? But I’m so afraid to go to a dr for it because everything I read says the symptoms lead to some kind of chronic disease that has extreme measures to try to manage it and its scary. I don’t want to live on a very restrictive diet. I eat so balanced and healthy because it makes me honestly feel good except my guts are just on fire.

  • Horses protein is not derived from veggies and grass. their protein is derived from the relationship it has with a certain microbes in their stomach

  • then we have Dr Ken Berry saying eat a meat based species appropriate diet, and we need no veggies, heals his patients hearts and diabetes all the time….

  • Kudos for inviting Dr Barnard he has notched up a gear every year and I would like to add that losing some of the sugar first is a great way to get started and then introduce more WFPB until the tipping point arrives and a decision is made to go all the way or not. Don’t let’s get too militant there are too many gains at stake of we take it forward in the manner of the good no BRILLIANT Doctor Neal B.

  • Fantastic. This guy is only 100% accurate to what I spent 40 years learning.(everybody I know is on plant based diet, but some are very sick.)

  • Anything you eat for vegetarian can have animal products just healthier meal preparation. Anything you eat to be vegan CAN NOT CONTAIN animal substance as you just described. So you are vegan not vegetarian. I been vegan for 3 years now.:)

  • Love you Videos Ferdinand!
If you want to, check out the special power veganism gives me on my Instagram (@fr.tz). Hint: I can fly!:P

  • I really starting to get into your advice. Been doing lots of research. You are highly educated. Thanks for the help. I’m really trying to live a diet similar to the Plant paradox. Any advice for a real skinny guy that losses weight quickly if he doesn’t eat like 5 meals a day? One love from Brooklyn!

  • Interesting idea. Vegan twin looks less robust. He is leaner. Stay vegan for another few months and the difference will be more dramatic. Contrary to what we have been told, thinner is not ‘healthier’. Strong, vital and robust is the benchmark for actual health. The non-vegan would look even better if he cuts down on sugar, i.e empty carbs. Carb sugar is all the vegan twin is allowed to eat, unfortunately.

  • I’m a vegetarian that’s ok with eating seafood. I wish my dad wouldn’t call it meat every time he makes but hey at least he’s supporting me. I’ve been vegetarian for a little over a month now. And I’m fine with Dairy products. I choose to drink almond milk because it tastes better.

  • Tip reduce bloating: work out 3x a week. Get 60min outside time. Drink plenty of clean water. Don’t over eat. Always helped me out.

  • OK… I’ve seen videos that say that pressure cooking is dangerous because of aluminum. So how in the world am I going to eat my lentils.. I love lentils. HELP PLEASE.

  • Wish I had time to overlay everyone’s names and associations but this was already a major editing undertaking. I even left out a physician mentioning clearing of MS plaques on a plant-based diet: “I have witnessed a patient with Multiple Sclerosis whose white matter plaques completely resolved after 6 months on a plant-based diet, I have seen a patient with refractory psoriasis clear their skin completely after 21 days on a plant-based diet, I’ve seen a patient whose rheumatoid symptoms resolved after instituting a plant-based diet….” USDA video timestamp: 3:13:41

  • Love this video. Especially the tip reference EDEN brand beans. And, avacados being completely safe to eat however many you want. Dr Gundry, that tie is spectacular. LaVerne

  • You mention roots and tubers. Do you mean any root vegetables. I understood that they had too many carbs to be included in a diet that aimed to reduce inflammation and promote autophagy. Could you speak more about this.

  • Cooking isn’t good enough to get lectins out. You need to soak, sprout or ferment grains and legumes, first. It’s actually good to eat lectinsbut small amounts. Check out the video’The Truth about lectins/ Science Saturday’. I think some chicken farmers will need to feed their chickens sprouted corn and grains, so that lectin-free diets can be accommodated. And no beef should be fed lectin grains. I stopped buying chicken related products. Until they start labeling them as sprout-fed. Pasture-raised chicken still means lectin-fed. Chickens aren’t fed with grass. I’m trying to figure a way to flavor my gravy without chicken broth. Grass-fed beef, I guess.
And I’m sprouting my brown rice, as well as soaking my oats and legumes. I’ll only buy sprouted-grain cereals, but haven’t found any, yet, unsweetened. Wheat is outcan’t get out the lectins.

  • Stop using veganism as a diet. It is not a diet. It is not to be used as a way to make money. It’s about animal welfare and ethics. You are so fueled by money, it’s very sad to see.

  • I recently switched to being vegetarian and my family is mad at me bc we have to have more dishes without meat or I just eat sides salad, potatoes, etc. I’m 12 if that makes a difference (I know know, get off yt but I’ve had an account for 4 years and don’t talk like an annoying 3 year old in comment sections)

  • What a great opportunity for Dr. Barnard!! Without those loaded, rude questions and statements, how would the truth come out shining as it did in this interview?

  • I have made my own wine. I have never used any animal related products in it. Its tottaly safe. And some brands will let you know. Wow about cheese!!! Oh no…. I guess the only think keeping me from going vegan is off the plate…..

  • Finally, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your incredible content. It is always so inspiring, perfectly edited and very eye-pleasing. Your videos make my day each time you upload (especially when you smile a lot)!
    Sending you lots of love!
    Stay safe and sound!

  • This is what I was looking for. I started watching another video by the same doctor after 20 minutes straight of talking in circles and saying nothing I gave up on it(Not one bit of info in 20 minutes!!!!) This is to the point thanks!

  • 7:43 i could tell who’s the vegan the one with bad teeth, looks gaunt, and overly expresses himself by showing more than half his eyeballs while talking.

  • Where I’m from, we call lingonberries partridge berriesI love them so much. Every time I go home, I have to get some to make jam. It’s something I truly miss from my home province <3

  • I read if you have heart disease, you shouldn’t eat any kind of nuts.?
I thought mushrooms are of the night shades?
Now I’m reading onions, garlic, milk, banana ‘s have lectins. What does a person eat anymore.
I’ll have to purchase The plant paradox and hope it cures my constant pain.

  • The girl with red/orange hair is reconsidering her life decisions and she doesn’t seem like she’d force her diet on people

  • 1:30 “Just doesn’t seem like food” is what she says about the thing humans have been eating for hundreds of thousands of years…
Jesus christ how stupid can you be.

  • Excellent show, so thankful for it!! One thing that I’m confused about though, are you saying that President Trump is the reason people exaggerate things now? Is he really the reason that people say things that aren’t true or believe things that are false? Aren’t we all responsible for doing our own search for truth? It actually seems that you are saying that President Trump could be the reason for this sort of behavior without any scientific research to back that statement up. People have been lying from the beginning of time, haven’t they?

  • As someone who was born into a strictly vegetarian family, I can tell you that there is no natural urge among humans to eat meat.

Most lifelong vegetarians who have never tasted meat, feel disgust (comparable to what a meat eater would think about say, eating a dog or snake or cockroach). You’d have to force them to eat meat.

Not making a value judgement, just saying that the urge to eat meat not something that you are born with. For those who have never eaten it, that urge is not present at all, rather quite the opposite is present.

  • As an Estonian I have a soft spot in my heart for Swedish food as it has had a lot of influences on Estonian cuisine. And you really can’t go wrong with young potatoes(seasons first) boiled skin on and then add sea salt, butter and chopped dill and then cover it with creamy mushroom sauce (fried wild mushrooms in butter with salt and pepper and then covered in cream)-it’s my all time favorite and have it every summer the moment you can get those potatoes. I’m already excited for this year!

  • Them Bragging: yeah, I’ve been a vegetarian for about five years now.

Me, who was raised a vegetarian and has never eaten meat in my life:
Though you sit in the council, we do not grant you the rank of master.

  • Hi, I wanted to thank you so much for this video.
Could you tell me if you think the bloating may be caused by weak abdominal muscles, what would you suggest they to rectify that?

  • Can you review Nina and Randa’s ‘What I Eat In the Day’. They were vegan since birth and made their own book called, “The Clear Skin Diet.”

  • My problem with herpes has caused me many traumas, especially in my sex life. I was so afraid of infecting my boyfriend, I suffered the embarrassment of visiting dermatologists queries hundreds of times.Unfortunately, they did not find a definitive solution to my problem. The solution came from the least expected place. By reading in a specialized forum on the subject, mentioned a method for eliminating herpes. Many people had tried, with excellent and quick results.I had nothing to lose so I decided to use this method to eliminate my herpes. spent just 10 days using this method and my herpes completely disappeared. I recommend this method to anyone who want to eliminate the herpes from their body forever, contact Dr Aloha today through his email: [email protected] gmail.com or call/text using WhatsApp +1 (202) 8713222

  • Hi Malin. Living in Denmark and new to Vegan food, I have a hard time finding tofu, cheese and smoked tofu. Where do you bye all that? I know of Rawfood store online that’s it, and they do not have these foods. Where do you shop Vegan if you go to Copenhagen?

  • yeah, ramsay is very hyper active person, and he has no deep thought of what the guru was trying to say, so stay in england ramsay!!!!!!!!!!

  • Btw Gordon is obviously biased in that he really likes India and Indian food. It’s big in England. Here in America nobody likes Indian food. Here it’s Mexican and Italian at the top. Chinese 3rd.

  • I can’t stand the way this guru laughs somebody asked him about aliens and he had no clue how to answer. I like that other yogi ramdev better. If this guru’s so holy why does he charge THOUSANDS of dollars for tickets to his speakings.

  • I would have liked to see a before and after of their bodies. Also they should have both been wearing the same thing with the same thickness in beards. I found the one in white looked more attractive but he was wearing a t-shirt which also made him look more masculine. They left out a ton of information. I hope to find more out about this somewhere.

  • LOL This had to be one of Gordons best shows. I was laughing that he could not cross his legs and sit down. I think he had a great experience and the kindness of Sadhguru to him made him very calm. It is years later now and you see a change in him and his food. He is doing vegetarian meals now and runs marathons.

  • Many here says guru is so calm. Here I want to tell you that from only last couple of days I started to watch sadguru and in just 2 days I became a fan just because of his calmness and his knowledge. You can watch his videos of debates you can not find any one moment where he losses mind or frustrated even in many debates he questioned really bad even I losses my mind on that kind of questions about any person

  • This is why I’m pescatarian. It’s just easier. Plus I love seafood. I’m not giving up meat for ethical reasons (yeah I know, shoot me), I’m giving it up because I physically feel better without it. I don’t have that feeling of an undigested mass sitting in the pit of my stomach all the time like I do when I eat meat. But consuming Worcestershire sauce or gummy bears don’t make me sick, so yeah I still eat those things. Same with fish. It doesn’t make me feel sick when I eat it, so I eat it.

  • He couldn’t cross his legs and finally sat like a prisoner. If he stayed back In india I’m sure he would change himself completely. He might be starving for meat.

  • This so called guru killed his own wife. He got away with it because of the corruption in India. He claims that his wife “left her body” because she reached some high level of enlightenment. His wife’s family beg to differ. Cuz they know the truth.

  • Being vegan since 6 months i have observed I feel much lighter now a days and my energy level is much higher than ever. But I eat fish it never makes me heavy.

  • Oh yes, FODMAPS are terrible… Abbey, could you please review this video in the future? https://youtu.be/0c_IHeXZjUI. Thanks a lot! Love from France

  • My bloating/extra weight was healed with a plant based diet, so I don’t quite understand how people say it causes bloating unless you’re eating a super high-fiber starvation diet.

  • It’s amazing how, even plants we eat, Thrive on the dead tissues of animals administered through the soil. And Carnivorous Plants are in a world all their own. I love my Meat (and my health).

  • I’ve been vegan for three years now. I’ll be honest, I did it 100% because I love animals and felt it was wrong to eat them. But man….the changes in my body have been incredible. An injury I’ve had for six years magically cured itself. The soreness after I workout has been dramatically reduced. I have to really just kill it in the gym to get sore now. And sexually, it’s been amazing as well. Men really don’t know what they’re missing.

  • I’m impressed by the Lacto-vegetarian diet. India does have many socio-economic problems but there dharmic roots, Ayurveda, food, Yoga, research are mind blowing and makes them unique in the world. Though I’m no one but i urge you to save and flourish your way of living. It’s very eco-friendly.

  • Thank you so much for this video and the amazing clips you included. I know it probably took you ages to put this together and I really appreciate that you did that work do I could have the chance to hear what went on. I wouldn’t have been able to watch all 4 hours and having it in this format was very valuable.

Loved that they pointed out that so many ethnic groups are lactose intolerant. I’m an ashkenazic jew and most ashkenazic Jews are lactose intolerant something I didn’t know until adulthood well after my sister and I both became vegan. We are both lactose intolerant and dealt with completely unnecessary discomfort for many years because so many adults were absolutely brainwashed into thinking that we needed dairy and could not thrive or survive without it.

  • Overeating is a thing, also as a vegan. My digestion gets used to plant based in 1-2 weeks but still having a big load of fiber, protein and starches, carbs isn’t easy to digest. You feel it laying in bed. Also having a mid to big load of alcohol at Friday’s or Saturdays have huge influence on digestion. It’s like throwing your gut microbiome back for weeks. Pretty sad, bad digestion makes me depressed. Eat normal portions, stop alcohol, you will be fine sooner or later.

  • How to stay healthy: eat lots of fruit/veg and enough nuts (unless ur allergic lol) seeds and grains. And make sure not to restrict yourself all the time and have “good” foods and “bad” foods cuz being healthy means having a healthy relationship with food and not beating urself up if you u have a bit of junk food. Just do what makes you feel good as long as it doesn’t hurt the animals

  • It’s not possible to be blissful all the time that is not how life works dude. It would be nice but that’s just a Fantasy. Life is about expecting the full human emotional spectrum from anger to sadness to grief to resentment ect happiness joy. These are all temporary not permanent blissfullness is not possible all the time

  • But as a vegetarian i thought we were aloud to eat things from animals just not the animal itself stuff as dairy that should be okay shouldn’t it? And also fish is not a meat

  • At some point vegans will kill animals. Well, I would say that yes, some field animals will die. For one, it’s still less than for the animal feed. Second, animals will adapt to a lack of food. Either they will move or their litters will be smaller. I really can’t see how you can compare farming for animal feed to farming for people food.

  • Great video! It looks like you had a a lot of volume, so how many calories do you think you ate that day of only eating vegetables?

  • I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life and I’am still learning about food I can’t eat. Even though I have been pretty good since I’am used to looking at the food labels. I also have shone my friends how much meat they consume.

  • I wonder why so many people are still complaining of cancer, well most people haven’t be lucky enough to meet with a helper. • Excellent short and sweet video Dr. Gundry. Started on your Plant Paradox Program March 10 of this year and as of August 6, lost 45 lbs (247 lbs to 202 lbs), got rid of my incontinence and bloating, significantly improved my energy level, as well as the surprising improvement of my cognitive function. I am much sharper, my memory has improve, and I process information much faster than I ever had. I now sleep through the night without having to wake and run to he bathroom several times.

I did all this by watching your videos. I recently purchased your book and realized that I had only implemented 70% of what you recommended and had this amazing improvement. I am now preparing to go through the full program from start to finish and really heal myself.

    Thanks

  • Also heads up to other new vegans (maybe I’m just dumb but anyway lol) unless a Quorn product specifically says vegan, then it’s not. I bought their meatless crumbles the other day (online grocery pickup so I didn’t read the ingredients oops) but turns out they have egg whites and a lot of their products also have dairy:( Boca and Morningstar are vegan though!

  • For your health -how to live to 100 -What causes blood clots and high blood pressure??

When the blood becomes thick and the platelets, the clotting cells, tend to stick together, a blood clot forms.

So what causes “thick” blood? Three main things:

    1) too much animal fat in the diet, dairy, fried foods, damage fats such as peanut butter, mayonnaise.(toxic)

    2) inadequate water drinking (dehydration),

    ( 3) stress, cortisol.

(4 not enough “Magnesium”” also deficiency in vitamin C, ” Vitamin B-6″ and Folic acid,Coenzyme Q10.

B-6 and Folic acid are very important vitamins to keep “homocysteine” low in the blood.

High “homocysteine” in the blood causes heart disease, cancer,Parkinsons, Alzheimer’s disease.

It’s no great secret that if one pours oil in water, the water becomes thicker.

So, when you eat animal fat (meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy, such as milk, butter, yogurt, ice cream, cheese, etc.) your blood becomes thicker.

It’s also not surprising that blood becomes thicker when one is dehydrated.

Blood is composed of two general main components: 1) blood cells: mainly red blood cells (rbc’s), that carry oxygen around to the organs and cells, white blood cells (wbc’s) that fight disease, and platelets, that help your blood clot when you are bleeding, and 2) serum, formed primarily from water and some proteins.

If your body is dehydrated, you may not have enough water to make enough serum. But you will still have the same volume of blood cells, therefore, your blood will be thicker! (Same volume of solids blood cells – but less fluid = thicker blood!)

But the total volume of blood in your body will be less because you have less serum than you should. The body has a splendid detection system for total blood volume.

When the blood volume is low because of dehydration, your body produces a substance that constricts the blood vessels so the amount of space in the blood vessels in your body will perfectly fit your total blood volume.

If there were a discrepancy, you could have an “empty space” in your blood vessels, theoretically causing an air embolus, an air pocket that, when traveling through the heart, could cause death. So the body’s mechanism to eliminate that possibility is very efficient.

Thick blood is also one of the main causes of high blood pressure, in addition to the animal fat deposits that cause a narrowing of the blood vessels, termed arteriosclerosis. When the heart has to pump thicker blood through narrower (constricted) blood vessels, the heart must pump at a higher pressure to push the blood through, leading to HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!

Obviously, high blood pressure can be reversed – contrary to the dogma of conventional medicine,

if one just eliminates the causes as revealed here.

    -What causes dehydration?

The body loses ten glass of water every day just from the processes of daily living such as, digestion, making enzymes, etc. On hot days or when one is stressed, even more water is lost.

If we don’t replace that water by drinking pure water, we will become dehydrated. The body is 75% water and the brain and nervous system are 85% water. Please note that the body is NOT 75% Coke, or 75% coffee, or 75% milk. It is 75% WATER!

I am a Vegan I eat no lectins, no wheat,no beans,no tomatoes,no peanuts,no cheese, I eat no fruit, (no fructose causes cancer) I eat no fried fat,no heated oils and no animal meat….

    I eat a lectin free diet. I follow a diet in this book Called ;

High protein diet will promote high homocysteines in your blood…heart disease, kidney disease and Cancer.

Keep the homocysteine low in the blood take Vitamin B6,folic acid, and eat low animal protein ( no red meat, no egg yolks, no dairy )

-Fat, sugar and alcohol is kidneys pancreas liver and heart’s enemy…toxic!…you eat like a pig you will have disease.

Take magnesium 3 times a day most important mineral for the heart and for avoiding arterial plaque.

The heart and arteries need magnesium, potassium, Coenzyme Q10, and vitamin C.

Sulfur (MSM) Our bodies need it for multiple reasons. It is not found in the soil as much in recent times. Thousands of years ago it was far more prevalent. Sulfur is the fountain of youth.

I take it everyday. I am 46 and people think I am 34. I take 8 grams of MSM Sulfur every day! best supplement to keep your skin young and kills fungus in the body…fungus is one of the causes of Cancer and skin disease. I love Sulfur mineral!

For anti-aging eating a lectin free diet and eating no fruit.

Eating a plant base diet (vegan) and taking “metformin” and fasting is what I do for myself.

  • I was vegetarian as a teen, now I’m 24 and thinking of going back simply for ethical reasons but dairy free because it breaks out my skin (causes acne)
    BTW you are gorgeous!

  • Just started your diet and switched from eating brown rice to fermented millet and sorghum. Been mostly vegetarian for twenty years. Your diet is easy for me to follow, I have seen a noticeable change in my weight already Thanks!!!

  • My friend and I recently went vegetarian together and so far it’s super easy there is some moments we need to eat meat like if my grandma takes me to Taco Bell to get the new taco… But other than that our families are cool with it:) and also you would expect McDonald’s fries to be vegan but no they have beef juice or beef fat in then

  • @ 46:39 Jordan peterson does not look like he is thriving…. He has serious tension-related issues. Anger and immunity issues started before…. he is generaly a non-psychadelic mindset. You can clearly see the line where he stops to make sense. Some emotional intelligence is missing.

  • Remembers me of the „Hausmannkost“ of my childhood. I‘m born in Germany and live there since then, but my parents come from Poland, and there is a quite similar potato pancake that my mom made for me as a kid, with a cream cheese with onions, or apple sauce or with my favorite as a kid: cream cheese with sugar and raisins that cabbage rolls with mince is also a childhood recipe for me. My mom made these, fried them up in a pan and then transferred it to a baking dish and cooked it in tomato sauce in the oven. And as always we have eaten them with mashed potatoes. I never „veganized“ them, but I probably should ‍♀️ thank you for sharing and taking me back to my childhood

  • Some cereals won’t have gelatin in it if you buy unprocessed kinds.. like just puffed wheat, all natural cereals without any additions can be eaten by a vegetarian, vegan…

  • A lot of medicines are not vegetarian as well. My son is on a medicine gelatine and Beewax in them. He will still be taking it because child his needs meds but still it sucks

  • WE ARE IDENTICAL QUADRUPLETS who are going to do a REAL KETO vs VEGAN/VEGETARIAN diet VIDEO since we have done both of those diets!! What kind of results would you like to see? Like this if you want to see this video and reply to this comment with ideas!!!

  • Wow! I’ve just learned something! So, I have been VERY skeptical of registered dieticians for a long time. (And you are like a breath of fresh air, btw.) Reason? I’ve had IBS since my late teens. My mom dragged me to every doctor under the sun until I basically told her that the only way she’s getting me into another doctor’s office is if she knocks me out and carries me there. And one of the reasons I didn’t want to go or to even attempt treatment was because doctor after doctor and dietician after dietician has told me (1) that FODMAPS foods would be off my menu FOREVER, (2) that I should stop eating gluten FOREVER even though multiple tests including a biopsy showed that I have no gluten sensitivity, and (3) that I should cut out dairy FOREVER even though I am not and have never been lactose intolerant. My 19-year-old self took a look at this list and was like “so, y’all want me to flirt with malnutrition till the day I die? I’m out!” It took me years to get my symptoms under control. One of the biggest culprits were xantham gum, guara gum, and their ilk (ya’ know, the stuff that gluten free pastas are full of). I look like I’m in late stages of pregnancy every time I eat them. So, I read my labels, because that kind of bloat and that kind of pain… it’s worth my time and effort to avoid that. Another culprit was my water intake. I now double my water when I increase my fiber intake: i.e. if last week I had sandwiches for lunch and this week it’s Buddha bowls, better refill my water bottle 2 more times. And finally I had to accept some things as reality: (1) periods, even the fake ones on birth control will constupate me worse than a bag of chips with an ice cream chaser, (2) runners diarrhea will happen, and (3) it’s okay that my tummy does not stay sunken in throughout the day-that’s just life and I’m better off doing abs workouts to tighten my core than cutting out asparagus. ‍♀️

  • You are the cutest thing I have found on YouTube! I love your channel and this video in particular has totally sold me. Love it! Thank you love! Very insightful and inspirational! Keep up the great work! God bless, LA

  • Are you sure the rennet was taken from the stomachs of calves? Because most of the rennet used to make hard cheeses in the US is actually taken from certain kinds of yeast or mold.

  • Tasty food is a gift of God, the greatest, free gift is heaven to those who believe God Jesus died n arose on the 3rd day. C Living bread in Google…..

  • Oh, this is Dr. Neal Barnard’s outfit!! I get it. No bias here, folks! Vegan vs SAD for a whole 12 weeks? How convincing! Let’s all go vegan! I did that and lost my health, just like all vegans eventually do even with their nasty supplements.
For your next experiment, try Vegan VS Paleo, Keto or Carnivore instead of SAD and conduct the experiment for one year. Never mind, I wouldn’t trust you to be honest about the results anyway.
P.S. Pushing some cholesterol myths too?

  • Thank God there are qualified people calling out the meat and dairy industry and putting the FDA on the spot about their Faulty recommendations, based on industry support. This gives me hope.

  • Blue would be interesting,or purple, but nowadays you can add fruit-powder (that’s any color) to everything to make it any color you like so I’d suggest that this shouldn’t count (to make it more of a challenge)

  • Why are all long term vegans so feminine… estrogenic diet. The science backing veganism is done very poorly. Look into it. Look into soy and corn as well.

  • Dude really man they make vegitarian cheese to i have been vegitarian for 9 years and you can eat cheesecake there is no geliten in it.

  • Every vegan talks about hurting animals but they forget plants are living too, and plants more important and beneficial to the environment than animals.

  • Yeah meat worse than alcohol lmao give me a break. I also love how when meat consumption and the talk about diabetes, hear disease, etc comes up they show and talk about fast foods as if fast foods are the only way to eat meat.

  • There’s different types of vegetarian, some people just don’t eat meat and others don’t eat anything from an animal (i think, idk,i’m a no meat vegetarian).
So please specify in the future on which vegetarian type do you mean:)❤

  • I really liked this video because it started and ended with a clear Focus on what you can do without going into everything else very fine I really appreciated that.
and it would have been even more helpfull if the foods were written down: 1 avocado, green leaves, mushrooms, nuts, pressure cooked beans

  • People that don’t want to give up MEAT always make excuses why they won’t give up meat.  Dr. Neal is right Meat Kills!  After you kill meat meat in turn will kill YOU.  How fitting.

  • It is due to some of the nutrients something like Raffinose, which is highly abundant in cruciferous (cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, etc), is not digested in your small intestine, therefore it will get fermented while they are staying inside your body. As a result, hydrogen and methane gases are released from the process. That is why ruminants (cow, sheep, camel..) release a huge amount of methane gas when they process grass and cellulose in their stomach. Should we drop those foods? Absolutely not! We can ferment those cruciferous veggies (the fermentation process makes those plant sugar (monosaccharide) to get processed) while maintaining all the minerals and vitamins intact. Try to eat something like Kimchi, sauerkraut, and fermented broccoli that you can make home easily! My bloating issues are all solved with those solutions!

  • The cake looked so so good! Made me crave some chocolate:D
I am also in love with the whole Fika concept as it truly shows us how important social connections are. Just a beautiful way to spend time with some close friends or family, as food and drinks are always fabulous additions to chatting!

  • Hi Abby. I recently discovered your channel and the information you have provided has been highly beneficial to me. I struggled with an ED for many years of my life. I have been in recovery for about for a few years. My triggers are still very much present. Although I don’t act on them. I have really been struggling due to the fact I am so easily triggered. I purged my IG completely and go on FB occasionally only to retrieve specific messages As Im sure you know of the health risks that come along with having an ED. Especially at a young age. I developed pre existing medical complications I may not have had otherwise such as increased anxiety and depression, epilepsy, osteoporosis, major digestive issues. During that time I also suffered two cardiac arrest and countless emergency situations due to the deficiencies in my diet. At one point I had to be in a wheelchair being at such high risk for heart failure and too weak to stand. I had to get picked up to get into my wheelchair The physical complications have improved significantly and are continuing to improve after a long battle with weight restoration as a result of refeeding syndrome. I have been tapering off of my medication for just over a year. I’m now just trying to adapt to living again. Anyways, that’s just a small portion of my story. I really do plan to share it when the time is appropriate in my recovery journey. I want to inform people of what an ED really looks like from my experience. I want to show the real version rather than this glamourized notion of narcism people associate with eating disorders. That in which can often be more harmful and triggering. I am sending this message to thank you for what you do. There is also another reason. I need to speak up about something to someone on YouTube that has fronts ethics. There is a girl with a platform of about 2.5 million subs. She has been on YouTube for several years. She is known for her Try on hauls and intentionally exposing as much of her skeletal ever deteriorating body. She was practically in the state I was in when I was in a hospital with IVs and doctors, etc. She Denied ED claims for years. I believe she is 26 or 27. She still lives with her parents and they were taking no action. Her mom was actually filming her or in her videos many times. It came to friends having to go to the extent of tricking her and getting her into an intervention setting. She then was taken against her will. Now a year later she is in the same place, now with no friends making videos in her pink bedroom playing dress up and talking in the pitch of an eight year old about Disney and Pokemon. This concerns me. When she had returned to YouTube he wore clothes that were a little bit baggier than usual. I could tell she was still extremely thin, but her faced looked a lot healthier. Her comments were full of encouragement and positivity. Telling someone in that state of recovery that they look healthy in their mind the person saying they are fatter. It was wayyyy too soon to her returning to YouTube. Even though it is clear she is regressing people are sending her comments saying how she strong she is and telling her she is doing so well. She did an collab with Katie Morton which was completely unethical. f if don’t know who Katie is there is a video on her channel and Eugeni Then there are the comments calling out her weight loss. Eating Disorders don’t go away over night, which is something most people don’t know. Her over exaggerating positivity is sending people the wrong message and puts the ED community to shame. She knows exactly the message she is sending and who her audience is. YouTube is spoon-feeding her content. I unsubscribed and her videos are somehow being promoted to me. It has had a massively negative impact on me even at this point in my recovery. I can only imagine what it’s doing to people stuck in their disorder and young girls accross the globe! There was a petition to have her deplatformed for her to return after taking the time to sort out her health. The sister of a young girl who was a fan of Eugenia. From the time she started watching Eugenia she developed an ED and as a result passed away. There were many others who spoke up but YouTube never stepped in. There are so many videos made about her. All her old videos are still up. If you see a couple of videos you will see what I am saying. Is there anything that can be done? Could you make a video in relevance to this. Even if you don’t name her….

  • A lot of people nowadays are trying to figure out the best method to drop weight. Then again, being able to find a diet plan that will work for you is tough to discover. A crucial thing you need to comprehend is that a diet is effective for one person may not work for another. And that means you must understand what your getting into before you begin one of those diets. This can give you enough information to learn if this is something that is appropriate to your requirements. Read more here https://truehealthreport.com/xtreme-fat-loss-diet-review/

  • Imma pat myself on the back for watching this while eating breakfast! #FecalMatter As a late 20s guy, I was sick of feeling my tight stomach when I was trying to get my health under control. I had to cut dairy, red meat, and finally fried food. Now I go through my days with no excess of burping half the day. It feels better to not be bloated for half my day.

  • It’s hilarious how meat eaters feel so out of control and guilty about it that they will make up whatever it takes against vegans. LOL. It truly entertains me.:-)

  • Brian clearly does not understand the definition of ‘cult’, sure there’s plenty of passionate vegans/activisits out there but if you’re going to call veganism a cult then all the world religions are even more so. He’d rather take advise from Jordan Peterson who’s wife developed cancer after the carnivore diet, Shawn Baker who produced terrible blood work and Joe Rogan who is sponsored by butcher box. Get real Brian there is a growing literature on the benefits of a WFPB diet, can the carnivore diet say this?

  • When you listed high fodmaps foods, I recognised most of them as the ones that are often giving me gas so now at least I know why

  • “Meat doesnt taste anything” u think that vegetables taste more? “This is not even food” what you think humans have ate for thousands of years.

  • I love this video! Especially the part with the interview. Thank you! I never knew that the FODMAP diet was supposed to be temporary! Everyone on SM seems to be taking a long life approach with it.

  • I have IBS and know that I should try a FODMAP diet, however I also know myself and I can get very very obsessive over my eating if I let myself get there. I’ve been so fearful of trying the diet, so learning that there is a gentle FODMAP diet was INCREDIBLE. I can’t thank you enough for providing this information, it has the potential to really help me physically without being difficult mentally and emotionally

  • Id love to understand any science behind the connection between eczema and gut health/sensitivities. Could you do a vid on this please?! Ive done research my whole life and still struggle no matter what and am really unsure of steps i can make to live a low eczema flare up or even eczema free life.

  • I had a toupet fundoplication surgery so no longer have a fundus as that was used to reinforce my Les. Since then I seem to have endless gas. (Which was expected side effect.) My doctor presumes most of my gas is caused by intestinal gas from my stool as you mentioned as one culprit for gas. I’m trying to find the right fiber and balance to help me go without causing gas. I like how you mention it’s a balance of not too much or too little fiber. As I almost feel like the advice I hear is either increase fiber or a no or low fiber diet.

  • Dear Mic,
    I have one question

would the global impact of say impossible burger and the beyond meat burger increases to the lvl that normal meat is, «  if the majority of people had to a pant based diet «?

    Thank you

    Julia

  • Dr Gundry did you said you love worm crumbles? sorry I didn’t understand and definitely don’t know what they are if anybody reads my post and know what is the Doc is referring to please would you let me know!! Thanks in advance!!

  • Also: Don’t eat too fast. If you do that you typically ingest more air and you don’t chew properly. Proper chewing helped me a ton. Why is no one ever talking about it? We are often distracted and/or in a hurry when eating so I’m pretty sure more people don’t chew enough:p

  • I’m confused..so because the cheese has rennet in it you say it’s a no go..how about the fact it’s made of milk from a cow..not rocket science. I’ve been vegetarian for 4yrs just turned vegan.

  • Ok so apparently a lot of cheeses aren’t vegetarian and I’m kinda freaked out because Ive been vegetarian for a while now and was not aware of that

  • Something that I realised it is that people are very stubborn and stupid may I say about this topic!!
It always annoys me when friends who know nothing about nutrition criticize me about my vegetarian diet choices. Like a person who thinks that sweets and sugar Cause heart disease, criticizes me when I’ve spent a great deal of time looking things up!

Also, usually stupid people can be more vocal because they are ignorant of their ignorance! Not to say that I am smart and everyone who disagrees with me is stupid, but at least disagree when you know a thing or two.Make it constructive!

  • Pharmaceutical companies should spend time creating nutritionally dense (with Whole Foods) recipes and those could be the “medications” the doctors order… pick them up at your local pharmacy

  • Your videos always make me so happy and your voice is so soothing and calming…All of these dishes looked sooo yummy!! I love seeing the traditional dishes from other countries, thank you for sharing and stay well and happy!! Love from Humboldt County, California….

  • Hello Abbey! Thankd for your nice informative videos I was wondering if you have ever covered the topic of weight gain in recovery of an eating disorder and how to cope with it? And if not if may be you could tackle it someday? I am sure many of us will appreciate that! Thanks again!

  • In Estonia, we make the cabbage rolls with mince meat combined with half-cooked rice and that makes a quite firm filling. My granny used to brown the rolls in the frying pan with butter before putting them into oven.

  • Seems like this Gundry guy has forgotten that many people are sensitive to OXALATES and phytic acid!! He seems to be believing that lectins are the only bad thing in plants!! Study before listening to this guys advice!!

  • I have listened to vegan vids and low carb vids and both claim long term healthy effects with and both have glowing testimonials. Both claim the science is on their side. Both criticise the methodology of the other. So who is right? I have lost 25 kg in a couple of months and have kept it off for nearly a year. That was on a low carb diet.

There are so many conflicting claims. I suspect that low carb diets work to lose weight and improve health and high carbs vegan diets will work too but only in the absence of fat. Having both high carb and high fat in your diet is a danger, plus highly processed food, especially food containing sugar or corn syrup, which is most processed foods today. And then there is the carnivore diet of meat only which on the surface should be disastrous with an absence of vitamin C but Jordan Peterson and daughter Mikhailla have improved their health on it. Inuit people of the Arctic and Masai people of Kenya have no vegetables without ever getting scurvy. We do not know a lot about nutrition. I suspect the body will adjust to different diet regimes as though there are reserve homeostatic states or heterostatis. But sugar is bad on any diet. To be avoided at all costs. The body has no homeostatic fall back position with lots of sugar. Bread isn’t really good either. Humans naturally eat nuts, leaves, berries, roots and fruits but not grass seeds. Some people can not tolerate gluten or wheat generally. I suspect the rest of us only tolerate it but only just.

  • Actually, a plant-based diet has given me relief. Also, please stop using the word “vegan” when you mean a diet and not the moral stance. Thanks. You are just making profit off of something meant to limit harm in this world.

  • What are your thoughts on digestive enzyme supplements? I feel they make a massive difference to any ‘bloating’ or digestive discomfort I’ve experienced. Are they safe? Are they necessary?

  • Malin! Beautiful video as always. I’m definitely going to make this potato pancakes as part of our meal plan for the next couple of weeks, thank you for the inspiration! ✨

  • Hi Abbey! I know a lot of people are trying to have a few weeks worth of extra food at home in case they aren’t feeling well. Are there some healthy recipes that you can recommend that use pantry items instead of perishables in case we have to stay home a while?

  • Sadguru is a businessman and sells spirituality. Very successful businessman because India is full of religious people. His wife died under mysterious circumstances and he calls it samadhi. Imagine an ordinary man saying the same thing to police. Anyway there are always fools ready to follow these kind of modern gurus selling spirituality

  • I’m on a low fodmap diet for IBS which makes being a vegan really tough. Any recommendations? If I can’t eat beans and many types of veg?

  • Hey, Abbie! I hope you and the baby are doing great! It’s been a little while since you told us about that interview you did to Stephanie Buttermore and I was wondering if you were going to post it??? Or was it scrapped?? I’m really, really curious about your opinion on her “all in” journey. I have a lot of questions myself, but Stephanie has no clear answers when it comes to them.

  • My family of 4 all have stomach issues. We tried eveything and nothing was working. I tried the so called buddha bowls as our main meal and after a week, all stomach issues for all family members went away. Bloating gone, no more constipation and so on. I just don’t know what to say or think. Everyone feels so much better because of this. Our buddha bowls are all vegetarian with chicken once a week. Our bowls are always a grain (Quinoa, Millet, Rice) with lots of veggies (Raw or roasted), a pulse (chickpea, Black beans, white beans) usually topped with an avocado and nuts and some kind of sauce or dressing. Is it safe to eat like this 7 days a week?

  • Thinking about shifting into being a vegetarian, but I don’t think I would ever be so staunch about it to care about small things like this. Could never do vegan though, to attached to cheese.

  • Great video, I love kitchen meditation and something to eat that is so nourishing.
I must ask what the triangle tatoo on your finger means if you are happy to share.
Really enjoyed learning a little about sweedish food.
    Stay safe and well. X

  • Could you do more on the brain-gut connection, please? I experience diarrhoea, gas, and sometimes pain from migraine attacks. I’ve read about how the gut slows down during an attack, leading to excess fermentation.

  • The only way this video is flawed is we never get to know what these low carbs people ate exactly. Not every low carb person eats a lot of bacon or coconut oil or saturated fats

  • As someone who’s been vegan for about 15 years, I recommend doing micro amounts of foods like beans and legumes at first then gradually adding more, the suggestion Abbey made about making a few changes at time is also great. I find how you are or aren’t affected by switching to a vegan or plant based diet may also depend on what your diet was like before the switch, were you coming from a very processed diet or a higher fibre more diverse diet, each will take a different amount of time to adapt and adjust.

  • I’m having a bit of trouble lately figuring out what is best it seems as if everyone has different recommendations to give and I’m a bit lost. People seem to say carbs & fat together is bad, do they mean just refined carbs or whole carbs too? Im transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and having trouble figuring out my macros. Pretty sick of “carbs” being demonised altogether, i am aware refined carbs aren’t ideal for the body but does this mean that having whole healthy carbs with fat is bad for you? Thanks!

  • She said there is so much chewing for the burger and I am like “girl, have you ever eaten a carrot? Fruits and vegetables require much chewing than meat in my opinion.

  • Have you seen Krocks in the Kitchen? I wonder what you think of what they eat, but they’re such super sweet people that I would be worried about discouraging them. They warm my heart so much, I want everyone to know about them

  • OK… I’ve seen videos that say that pressure cooking is dangerous because of aluminum. So how in the world am I going to eat my lentils.. I love lentils. HELP PLEASE.

  • The thing with legumes is consistency. If you it a small amount everyday you body gets used to it and therefore feel less bloated and gassy. In fact studies have shown that people eating a western diet are consuming not enough legumes!

  • I’d love to see you make a video regarding Emma Laird’s what I eat in a day. She’s a vegan model and I feel like she sets a really good example for varied eating habits!

  • Love these videos. very informative . I’m so glad you’re back to talking about other things besides pregnancy and infertility. I’m glad you’re happy, just not topics I’m personally interested in.

  • I think there’s also a big myth that being vegan means that you need to eat way more volume in order to meet the RDA for nutrients. I do love a nice big salad once in a while, but the plating method applies equally to eating vegan as it does any other way. I eat just a normal-sized plate of food like anyone else with grains, greens/veg, and protein + fat and I get everything I need in that amount.

Another tip for people with a bean heavy diet: soaking the beans to sprouting point(usually 24-36hrs, depending on the bean) is a win-win-win situation. It cuts down the cooking time, increases nutrition, and makes the beans so much easier to digest(at least for me). Beans also freeze super well, so don’t feel like you need to eat 2kg of cooked beans in a short time out of fear of them going bad. Use enough for the dish you have planned, and then freeze the rest in portions sizes appropriate for your household’s meal size needs.

  • Who cares what everyone else is eating. I’ll keep eating my plants.

If other people want to be unhealthy, great. More parking spaces for me

  • That’s great! On all the carbs attacks I think it’s funny to keep in mind that even whole food on USA have 2 time to 3 times more carbs than the same food here on Brasil. For instance, peanut.
Still, I’d like to see more researches and results on a vegan keto diet, because they seen to be portraited as oposites. Moreover, some of the low carb diet problems seem likely to be solved in a plant based diet.

    Thanks for all

  • If you wan to know what the brutal British takeover of India was like then watch the whole episode of this….good ole Gordon carrying on the tradition

  • Can you do a video on Taylor Bee’s last what I eat in a day? It’s like 815 calories. She has 322K subscribers and I think her posting this content is really damaging for her young followers:( I love your videos!

  • I experienced no bloating if you’re constantly vegan for about quite a time (6-8 month for minimum)
To digest just plantbased food, and therefore a huge amount of these as the gut is yet familiar with, you’re gutflora needs to adapt to this and besides that the rest of the bacteria, which are not needed anymore aren’t really happy about loosing their job and their “food”.

The bacterias who wants to digest the huge amount of greens and new food (soy and more cereals, lentils and so on) are absolutely overworked and the others are starting a revolution… Imagine this szene in your tummy it needs time to get rid of the no more needed flora and to establish the new needed gutflora.

Especially if you like to be a parttime vegan you will constantly ask your gut to do work which it’s obviously not prepared for… Some people say, that this is one of the reasons they’re quitting the vegan diet. I highly recommend to try it at least 3 better 6 month without exception.
And help your gut with pre and probiotics. Try Inulin, good and healthy foods, avoiding processed ingredients, if you can afford it, try to stick to whole and organic foods. It is worthy!

I’m vegan for over a decade now and I’m eating mostly raw mixed with cooked legumes, fermented foods and I can digest raw broccoli and kale with a huge portion of lentils and you will not hear one thing
I just adjusted my gut to these kind of diet, but I have to say, I did need my time for this…

Abbey, I’m curious, you aren’t vegan and may never will be, where do you get your personal experience about eating constantly vegan?
I needed more than 2 years to get a clear line so I can say my gutflora now is stable and has totally changed.

(Excuse my English, I’m from Germany now living in Switzerland such a tough combo )

    Have a nice day

  • Vegan diets work for a few years and then people go downhill fast. Well documented.
I’ll point out ‘Game Changers’ has been debunked as containing so much pseudoscience and fake news that from Vegan/Vegetarian/Decades-Long Dieticians all called it out.
Healthy, clean, balanced and restrictive has the long term best outcome.
India which is mostly vegetarian has a 1 in 3 diabetes rates by aged 47. Not healthy long term.

  • I think this is not really a fair comparison as the twin on the regular diet was also eating sugars and carbohydrates which cause lots of energy fluctuations but I suppose what is really telling is that the twin eating protein gained muscle mass and the twin eating vegan didn’t… also the experiment really wasn’t long enough to see any long term affects of both diets… ideally a minimum of 6 months to 12 months would give you a very clear indication of long term health…

  • What a sweet video. I loved it and will be making all of these. So happy you are back posting regularly. Hugs to you and Rob!! Stay well. Stay safe

  • The cattle on our ranch in Wyoming live on the verge of freezing to death every day during the winter… you could say they are the Wim Hoff of the animal kingdom.

I can tell you this… every community should be engaged in the growing of its own fresh fruits and vegtables primarily in green houses… the money is there… it’s just wasted on other endevors none of which are as benificial as the localized development of fresh fruits and vegtables… my focus is on the solution and the solution is grow food… apples, oranges, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, tomatoes, celery, red beets, ect in both the public and private sectors on a world wide bases.

  • Horses protein is not derived from veggies and grass. their protein is derived from the relationship it has with a certain microbes in their stomach

  • I feel like each European country has its own hearty potato pancake dish ;D In Poland we have a version of it as well and it’s name is also connected with men, who usually worked real hard in the past and thus had to eat a lot XD
And I must say, your version looked absolutely fantastic:D Would happily try it!
P.S. Ikea is great in terms of food, and there is nothing to hide about it. We all love it ;P

  • I switched my diet to probably 80-90% plant based and was extremely bloated the first few months. I felt like I was gaining weight and feeling heavy all the time, and it almost made me quit. I stuck it out and now feeling back to normal and better! I do not get extreme bloating like that anymore at the end of the day, and I am not bloated in the morning. Our bodies need time to adapt!

  • I think you give very generic one size fits all info. Also just demonizing those who find benefit with the lowering of certain macronutrients. This whole “balance” thing, doesn’t work for everyone.

  • London Real, if you want to eat meat, or fish or eggs just eat it. It is your body and your choice. Don’t understand why trying so hard to find a reason to justify eating it and prove that eating plants is just wrong. This argument with killing animals while growing plants, nearly fell of the chair out of laugh. Seriously??? you kill animals every day by walking, if you want to go that direction, you would have to stay at home not to stamp on any creature outside. Just do your diligence and check how much water is used to grow a cow, plus food, or a pig! You want to eat meet, just eat it. Also comparing your personal feelings to science? Seriously!!! Dr Bernard was so patient with you. The worst is to give an interview to an uneducated person, who wants to prove that what he feels and thinks it is right, even though he cannot back it up with any science!

  • Jo prem kare Krishna ki rachna se, wo jeev hathihya nehi Karega. Asal me to sabzi kaana bi hathyia hi hai… magar booti aur phal ko dard mehsoos nehi hota.

  • wikipedia: “Barnard is a non-practicing psychiatrist.” I do eat a balanced diet, pretty much everything God provides for us. this “doctor” is a great story teller. I am interested in INFORMATION, NOT blabla stories. I did not get a single answer based in science from this dear man. He looks ok, but emaciated. he does look like he is in his sixties, not a bit younger. I don’t mind it at all if someone is happy feasting on plant matter only. good for him/her. But please, I am open to FACTS, give me some fact to convince me. NADA, HITCHI, NOTHING, NICHTS,………….you are a control freak political activist all your life. glad you enjoy your food. I would have liked some very specific scientific questions asked, to hear this doctor give an educated ansers. Brian, you failed in that respect. I guess you were not properly prepared to interview this hack of a scientist (e.g. why does our body make cholesterol, why is fat essential, please define essential, explain the difference between ALA-DHA-EPA, explain metabolism in detail for carbohydrates/fat/protein/fiber including their unique effects on the brain and various enzymes, describe the digestive systems of typical carnivores/herbivores/omnivores and then describe in detail which one comes closest to humans, describe the specific digestive difference for fiber between humans and ruminants,…….just to name a very few basic questions that should be part of any interview with a vegan promoter)

  • So you won’t eat gelatin, but you eat cheeses, which are likely even more toxic.
Makes absolutely no sense and makes absolutely no difference in the world or for your health!
You should go completely vegetarian (no animal products) or call yourself a meatless/fleshless omnivore.

  • Good Doctor, do you ever read these comments? I wish I could introduce you to “CONCENTRATED LEAF PROTEIN”. You would juice say Moringa leaves, or tree collards, or kale, or goji leaf, or stinging nettle, or industrial hemp leaves, or chia leaf, or whatever. You can even juice flats of micro greens I do. Anyway, you put the green plant juice in a pot and add a little water. You bring it to a slow boil. It separates into curds and whey. Does not take long. You strain and wash the curds. The curds are pure, concentrated protein. You could never eat a whole one pound bag of kale from the grocery store, in one setting, but you could eat the concentrated protein from that bag. There is more digestible protein in that one pound of kale than there is in a small steak. Green proteins are less complex and smaller, and are much easier to digest than meat proteins and it does not generate as much heat. But, as a cook, you can think of it as a new kind of vegetarian hamburger. If you have a garden or a yard, this is a protein that is not only free, but hassle free. If you have an automatic sprinkler you can go on vacations and trips. Maybe you live in a neighborhood where it would be inappropriate to have chickens but you can always plant a few moringas or tree collards, and no one would notice. FURTHERMORE, THIS IS A NEW KIND OF VEGETARIAN PROTEIN THAT WOULD BE USEFUL FOR THE LONGEVITY DIET. I am allergic to wheat and soy. This new protein makes being a vegetarian possible for me. Actually, I eat sardines once in a while for the choline, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Omega 3, and collagen but that is it everything else in vegetarian. We old farts are are supposed to cut back on calories and animal protein, right? Here is a very good way to do that. It is a huge break through. Thanks. Let’s do a How To / Cook Book together.

  • Excellent debate..Dr Neil Barnard is helping change people’s ideas concerning there diets and lifestyles.. our food is killing us. Brian through in some brilliant opposing counter replies questions. Good discussion thank you

  • I became vegetarian because of what was happening to the animals mainly! But meat tastes awful too and gets stuck in your teeth! Dr Bernard look amazing!

  • Superfood and vegetables is an oxymoron. No plant comes even close to being super unless you want to define plant toxins and gut destroying properties as super. The comparison of animals like gorillas and horses to humans is preposterous and doesn’t follow. First of all we could never eat what a gorilla or a horse easts without falling sick or dying and second gorillas and horses are specialised to eat this. Remember Gorillas eat their own shit to be even able to digest this garbage, just look at their huge bellies. Do you wanna look like that? Megafauna animals have to eat and chew for 12-16 hours every day to keep up with their dietary needs. Leavy greens pass through our digestive systems without giving us anything thanks to the fibre and the oxalates, meanwhile they are guaranteed to create havoc. Animals need special digestive systems that convert the plants to something actually useful like fat. We cant convert plant matter and sugar too fat they are totally useless to us. Eating leafy greens makes us weak and sick and destroys our gut beause we lack the cecum and bacteria needed to ferment the plant matter properly.. When it comes to this Gundry is utterly delusional and misguided about this topic. You want to eat a super food? Try liver. Eating nuts and beans every day has cost one of my closest friends his health and a kidney. Nuts are dangerous as are all seeds and grains.

  • So nice to see another of your videos and this time with a typical Swedish twist. So you don’t dry the potatoes for the pancake? you keep the juices in the mixture? All the best from France!

  • Meat is not really the problem people dont combine it with alot of vegetebles, people eat meat but they also eat alot of sugar, carbs and ramdom oils etc and they blame meat, tho it does have some problems if someone eat exesive meat

  • When you say ”too much fiber”, how many grams daily are we talking about? I consume 160g of fiber per day (all year around!) and have ZERO issues. I really wanna know what would be the upper limit that people so often mention…

  • I’m confused, because was the non-vegan brother, Ross, eating carnivore or omnivore? Well, I just did a quick research to better see what they were eating. Ross wasn’t on a “meat” diet, he was omnivore, though his diet may have been a bit cleaner than what it was it still wasn’t a “meat” diet, maybe more like Paleo. So, this is a little bit misleading, especially without the details of what they were eating.

  • I love how chill this guy is. He knows that Ramsay is a difficult person to convince but he stays respectful and good humoured about it the whole time.

  • On carbs and type 1 diabetes:
I´m vegan for ethical and environmental reasons. I´m also a type 1 diabetic and my blood glucose levels are, of course, much harder to control on a high-carb diet. That doesn´t say anything about the effects of carbs on health in general or on non-diabetics; my experience is just that while eating strictly low-carb my levels were much better and steadier. That being said, to me, a big part of feeling healthy is to feel in sync with my conscience and that is just not possible when eating dead animals. So veganism does require closer monitoring of my levels than low-carb but it´s still worth it because it´s about more than food.
Also, I was on a strict low-carb diet for a rather short amount of time. While my blood sugar definitely benefited from that, most of my life I ate an omnivorous/vegetarian diet and in comparison, my A1c is still better since going vegan 1.5 years ago. My guess is that this is because I generally pay closer attention to what I eat.
So in conclusion, I don´t believe that high-carb is automatically good for your blood sugar but it doesn´t have to be bad either. And I do believe that going vegan has some other great benefits that may contribute to a more mindful approach to food and one´s body in general.
Fast carbs, as found in bananas, white rice etc. are still to be consumed with caution if you have diabetes. But other than that, nothing´s really stopping you:)

  • Praise to Dr Barnard and the Physician’s Committee for their science-based presentations. “Medical science is only in its infancy, yet it has shown that our natural diet is that which grows out of the ground. The people will gradually develop up to the condition of this natural food.” Bahai Faith “

  • Hahaha being vegan is so nice! Really curious about the nuts and seeds days:p for the only one colour challenge I would say yellow, it’s so bright ☀️

  • then we have Dr Ken Berry saying eat a meat based species appropriate diet, and we need no veggies, heals his patients hearts and diabetes all the time….

  • Everyone coming at the one year old vegetarian need to stop when you don’t eat meat for that long (a year is a lot) ur body adapts that way. I didn’t eat chicken for like 4 months and when I finally ate it it didn’t taste as good as it used to sadly chicken was my fav but I’ve limited it now bc if that 4 months.

  • You mention roots and tubers. Do you mean any root vegetables. I understood that they had too many carbs to be included in a diet that aimed to reduce inflammation and promote autophagy. Could you speak more about this.

  • Dr. Barnard has a beautiful mind. He never gets his back up he just hears the argument and rebuttals with cold hard logic and COMPASSION. Bravo!

  • Meat eaters are complaining of the standard American Diet because he puts sugar in his coffee??? Well one thing we know, is meat is not healthy to reverse the effects of A TABLESPOON of sugar a day. Shouldn’t that answer something for you.

  • I think the Vegan looks smaller eyed, more manic or let’s say, less relaxed, less hair and just not as attractive. I dare say that veganism is a fantastic fast, but I wouldn’t count on it for long-
    term health or mental stability.

  • This was done before. Daniel Ate His Veggies

Daniel might be most famous for overnighting in the lions’ den without becoming their dinner, but his diet is also noteworthy. At a time when he and his three fire-walking friends — Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego — first became Babylonian slaves, they all rejected the king’s delicacies and wine, choosing to subsist on a diet of vegetables and water instead.

At the end of 10 days, all four youths were found to be healthier than those who had eaten the king’s food, and Daniel continued this diet during his three-year training. Today, the Bible-based Daniel Diet is used as a 21-day fast that includes not just vegetables, but legumes, fruits, nuts, grains and seeds also.

Although the most recent study specific to the Daniel Diet was completed in 2010, subsequent studies have duplicated the results that certain cardiovascular risks, such as overall cholesterol, are reduced when a whole food diet that includes natural foods found on the Daniel Diet is followed. Reduction in total caloric intake is a crucial factor in the study results, whether or not meat is included in the menu.

  • Good lord did he really blame America’s bad eating on TRUMP lol, this guy is the real clown! I’m plant based by the way but Dr you are a total Tool.

  • I live in China and I may say that current situation is way far from “China’s study”. People are slowly dying. I think they’re meat eaters n.1. Children are highly obese. Their parent force them to drink milk cause it’s “healthy” though. They eat meat at least three times a day and other gross. It’s not healthy nation anymore.

  • Interviewer states “it is yet to be seen” (if the carnivore diets lead to shorter life spans). This is patently incorrect. High amounts of saturated fat in those carnivore diets substantially reduce lifespan, and this is been conclusively proven by many studies over many decades. The mechanism of action which causes it has been proven, which means the evidence is very strong.

  • A few months ago, I decreased the amount of wheat and legumes and increased the fiber I eat and it has definitely improved my bloating. When I get bloated now, I get surprised. Before, it used to be a daily thing.

  • Brian Rose I think you made the right choice by deciding to include grass fed meat and fish back into your diet. I noticed Neil Barnard couldn’t even acknowledge your question about whether grass fed meat has nutrients people can live on which every person with any common sense knows that it does.

  • The Naturli vegan butter is real good. I a super happy it is actually available in my country as well:D
Also, I have seen the epic mature somewhere around me and was wondering if it is worth trying…good to have your advice! Especially that cheese + cucumber is my childhood combo as well ;P
But I am definitely jealous about the yoghurt! Oataly is not available in Poland and we only have relatively average plant based ones ;P Maybe one day!

  • ………..yeahhhhh, did the producers of this video ever consider that if any of these women really liked any kind of meat they wouldn’t have become vegetards in the first place…….

  • 4 minutes in I started crying. I get very bloated, from any food, and drinks. And it stays for hours, I wake up bloated sometimes, and it’s been happening for years, and when I wasn’t vegan. I just want an answer as to why it happens, and how I can stop it, i hate it

  • So many people think if they eat hormone free, grass fed animal products and avoid processed foods that they are less likely to get cancer and have diabetes. How do you convince those people? They also feel our foods aren’t as nutritious now as they were in the past so they need supplements.

  • This is bad science. Eating meat along with sugar and carbs is asking to be unhealthy. This would have been a great experiment if it was vegan VS a low carb diet. I eat red meat, bacon, eggs, pork, and low carb veggies and lost 60 lbs. The pasta and sugar is killing us. I’m 6′ 3 and 180lbs now.

  • Reducing the amount of meat eaten seems to have great benefits (physical and spiritual?).They (the people of this ashram) seem committed to both totally removing meat from people’s diets, and maintaining a meat free way of life… and enjoying the calmness they get from that lifestyle!

  • 45:57 Host still thinking, “Wait, Alzheimer’s?!?!” I hope he looked into this more and went back to plant-based eating for his own health.

  • since becoming a vegetarian I smell better and my partner says that I taste better. isn’t that weird. also my sex drive is higher. i think that i’ll stick to this lol

  • One thing that is mentioned is that Asians ate a little bit of meat/fish in their diet as. a condiment kind of Dr Bernard mentioned this. So maybe like some do meatless Monday maybe its ok to have fish like once a month? I’m not arguing for either side its just a thought for me I try and be vegan because my cholesterol needs to come down and my weight too but its hard when everyone around you brings home pizza, burgers, BBQ all I can do is be my best but no one should be attacked for their choices.

  • Can we all drop the Us vs Them mentality guys? People’s Health is at stake, and these personal agenda-driven angles are really muddying the Science. I would love to hear more from the Vegan community on Bioavailability / Anti-Nutrients (such as Polyphenols) / Plant Toxins / Protein Quality / Deficiencies, and whether a Diet that needs to be supplemented is the right one for Health. We need more Straight Talk. These diet movements are getting a bit Religious in their Crusades.

  • People keep saying that Dr. Greger (who I adore) should go on Joe Rogan, but the man who sued the US government over unethical dietary recommendations and WON is my #1. Dr. Barnard is the best!

  • Hey you are amazing! Thanks!! i got a qustion….. waht about superfoods: Matcha tee, HEEEMPSEEDS?? other oils than olive and coconut what about rapseedoil ect.? what about gluten free oats?:)

  • Chimpanzees eat termites as well,I’m a vegan but not for my health.but for ethical reasons.I honestly think that if you become a vegan for health reasons then you are going to fail. But if you do it for ethical reasons then you will stay vegan forever.thats why every Other diet fails because your doing it just for your own gains.i so wish people would not put the word diet after vegan because that’s not what it is to me

  • Animal protien consumed in moderation does not cause Diabetes. It is in fact healthy to have a moderate insulin spike few times (2-3) per day; the best way to achieve this, is by ingesting animal protien.

High cholesterol levels are not unhealthy; it is a sign that your body is trying to keep you alive.

This man is not telling the truth.

  • I got rid of bloating by following the carnivore diet and it’s literally changed my life and I don’t need high amounts of vitamin c because I’m not eating carbs

  • This was not a experiment, it was propaganda…… one went vegan and one went on the sad diet. I meat diet/ carnivore diet would not include biscuits or sugars. This was a sad experiment, and a sad interview, and a sad waste of my time.

  • Sugar shocked me the most

Edit: that only applies to the USA, Sugar is vegetarian in the UK but if you’re from a different country then you’ll have to check cos I ain’t spending my night checking different countries for you guys

  • Weston Price in the early 1930’s examined many native cultures that had never eaten a Western diet of processed food, and found no evidence of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, crooked or missing teeth. He wrote a book called Nutrition and Physical Degeneration https://www.westonaprice.org/physical/ He also found that there is no history of any culture that survived on a vegan or vegetarian diet. ALL cultures ate animal products.

  • What happens when a set of twins decide to make lots of money by going to research hospitals to take part in pointless experiments, which they can then post on Youtube, in order to make lots of money to allow them to continue in their pointless expeditions…yet another example of bored, pointless middle-class twats milking everyone around them to get out of working for a living…

  • Hey you are amazing! Thanks!! i got a qustion….. waht about superfoods: Matcha tee, HEEEMPSEEDS?? other oils than olive and coconut what about rapseedoil ect.? what about gluten free oats?:)

  • The best diet you could ever go on for health and fat loss is (Low Carb and High Fat) it lowers insulin to make it easy to burn fat and build muscle and it also prevents diabetes.

And the reason why milk can be bad for you is not because of the fat, it’s because of the sugar.

And the best protein you can have is animal protein and out of meat and dairy, daily has the best protein.

And everyone has even got the wrong information about cholesterol. High cholesterol is good for your heart. You’re brain makes it’s own cholesterol so when you get cholesterol from food, all that happens is you’re brain doesn’t need to make as much. Low cholesterol causes more health problems.

And all carbs aren’t the same. Like fruit for example. Fruit can have a lot of carbs, mostly sugar. But most of the carbs don’t store in you’re body because there high fibre stops them from digesting.

But the healthiest diet you can have is intermittent fasting on a high fat low carb diet. You don’t need carbs from food. You’re body makes it’s own natural carbs and it’s the best energy source you can have.

  • Brian you should have mentioned the “Ex Vegan” who was on your show was drinking piss (not just his own), has mental issues, did extreme all fruit diets. He wasn’t just a normal person and you know it. Stop trying to justify yourself bro

  • does anybody know if these health issues are accompanied with pain in the right side under the breast, around the gallbladder area? I’ve been having a lot of gas, bloating, constipation and pain in that area and I wonder if it could be a digestive issue…

  • Åh Den här videon är en av dina bästa! Kul med svenskt, ser gärna fler såna videos i framtiden. Är inte vegan själv men följer dig med stort nöje för att få in mer grönt i vardagen

  • Serious question: Don’t horses, cows, gorillas, and other animals, eat plenty of insects, including worms and spiders, and dirt when they eat grass and leaves? Aren’t these sources of proteins and minerals for them?

  • So the vegan takes offence that the low carb lobby says that the diet guidelines are a joke. Let’s look at this a bit closer aren’t we smack bang in the middle of the worst obesity epidemic ever? Who is right?

  • i get so excited when I see your videos! So humble and honest and real. Much LOVE AND PEACE from upstate NY. Stay safe and just be yourself. we adore you <3

  • Clarification on Andrea’s comment about beans. Black beans you cook yourself and much better for gut health than canned rinsed beans, correct?

  • Nice one! but did you ever consider the importance of non-hybrid foods? Avocado has only 2g Protein per 100g & with nuts be careful with omega-6!!!

  • Cucumbers and tomatoes are definitely fruits but oh well 😉 I can’t wait to see you do nuts and seeds omg its going to be so high fat! I hope you find some cool creative recipes though:D

  • Had bloating issues for years and a mostly plant-based diet has changed that…. it took a few months for my gut to adapt but now I am much more satiated without the food-baby after meals. I eat a ton of carbs and have lost weight too.

  • If you’re not a Dr I don’t feel you should challenge facts with opinions.
I’ve changed my eating habits after having CRC stage 3. Wish I had this info sooner.

  • It’s important to note that in the Siri-Tarino et al. meta-analysis ( 16:09) that is used to claim saturated fat isn’t a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the “low fat” diets were virtually all 25-30% calories from fat, meaning they weren’t low-fat diets at all-nothing like the 8-12% calories from fat in the Esselstyn diet. By not studying truly low fat, whole food, plant-based diets, the benefits of healthy and truly low fat diets doesn’t pop up, and the researchers wind up concluding “no harm” when there really is harm.

  • But what about tomatoes and cucumbers. I use tomatoes in my salads with cucumbers and when cooking my vegan meals. Can I deseed tomatoes and cucumbers or do i also need to remove skin? Is it ok to eat at least twice a week?

  • Those potato pancakes look delicious, but grabbing ‘hold of lingonberries + smoked tofu where I live might be difficult…do you think they’d go well with sour cream, like latkes? (asking as a vegetarian)

  • What about phytic acid in nuts? Isn’t that a problem? I personally can’t eat any nuts or I get ill. This is very similar to my diet that I’ve been following from adapting AIP and paleo. It’s works for anyone with autoimmune problems

  • you couldnt pay me to be vegan..maybe it works for 100% white people &/or hybrids/humanoids (mixed with Alien blood), but it sure didnt work for me..these 2 look at least 10 years older than 31..at 31 i looked 21..at 41 people still thought i was in my 20’s & even until about 5 years ago peeps always thought i was 15-20 years younger..dont believe the hype peeps..it’s all about quality NOT some new crackpot idea on how to eat.. REAL humans are supposed to eat RAW organ meat, blood, egg yolks plus bone broth..sick of hearing about this crap..grains rot the brains & feed pathogens..especially if theyre not properly prepared & laden with fake ingredients like that fake meat shit..wake up ya dopes

  • Love this video. Especially the tip reference EDEN brand beans. And, avacados being completely safe to eat however many you want. Dr Gundry, that tie is spectacular. LaVerne

    Thanks

  • Dr. Gundry advice on super foods is something that I follow daily. I’m a fan of his because of his books he wrote named diet evolution and plant paradox.

  • It is similar like polish goląbki. Maybe you like to do vegan recipe for that? I will put here oryginal recipe. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/234975/golabki-stuffed-cabbage-rolls/

  • The shot of the pre fika love ( you and that beautiful black greyhound on the couch) looked like a work of art. You really are so talented. ❤️

  • Thank you so much for sharing vegan versions of Swedish dishes. They all looked amazing! I would love to try that last dish. I have a gravitational pull for labors of love in the kitchen. I never thought to call it “kitchen meditation”, but that’s a great way of putting it. I’m past due for a little of that because I’ve been moving around a lot lately. In the meantime, I like this concept of “fika”. I just might have some tea, and I do have a vegan cheesecake that is downstairs in the fridge. Fika sounds lovely.

    Thanks for the video!

  • I want to try vgetarian verison of cabbage rolls for a while too.:D
And lingonberries are great! I’m form Latvia and we have them in froests too. I like to just boild them even without sugar they keeps well that way too. Lingonberries have that great sourness and bitterness together, that goes well with savory and sweet dishes too. Combines well with sweet desserts and cakes too.:))

  • In Poland we have a similar stuffed cabbage concept! Although the flavours are completely different, it is also a delicious winter-y meal which reminds me of my childhoodmy grandma always made it:D
And you know what? I feel like I want to try the Swedish version at some point as wellit looked absolutely fantastic!

  • I’d love to know what type of tea pot you use, it’s so lovely. All your videos are so inspiring, thank you for sharing your love of vegan food.

  • In Belgium we say ‘boerenkost’ (peasant food) which means cooking like in the old days, very heart fulling meals full of meat oils and potatoes. Meals that would fill the old farmers for long. We vegans are definitely not a fan of ‘boerenkost’

  • Every time some vegan ad will jump on me despite not being vegan. I’m going to eat extra meat that I would without…

So right now you are responsible for one a chunk of meat out of the cow… As I’m going to make a nice beef burger as my today’s extra… My taste buds says thank you.

  • actually if you was a vegan you can’t eat because vegans don’t eat anything with animal product. Vegetarians are not so strict just not eating animal flesh

  • Hi Abby,
First of all I love your videos, you have made an immense difference to my life where I no longer see food as something to be afraid of and I am starting to see it as nourishing. Still work in progress but I am trying. And you opened my eyes to this fact.

Secondly I have a requestI turned vegan 3 years ago after watching forks over knives and reading a bunch of vegan doctor booksCampbell, greger, esselstein etc. There are a lot out there. I had such a huge phobia of animal foods after that. 2 years into it I found that I have vit d and iron deficient anemia. Which led me to do some research and start questioning my diet. I have since tried to pick up some meat and eggs but I keep going back to those books and documentaries, they really put the fear in me that everytime I eat eggs or fish or chicken I am scared that I will get cancer or I am absorbing all the mercury etc. I don’t know what to believe, I am very confused and I don’t know who to ask. I am really struggling.
So could you share your thoughts on how to make sense of all the vegan literature out there? And what could be some of the pitfalls and health concerns and how to deal with it?

Thanks for all the wonderful work you do

  • Your presence on screen just lights up everything! Thank you so much for keeping us all inspired with food in such difficult times. Sending you lots of good energy and love:-)

  • Great overview! As long as people are lazy eaters there will always be the processed crap out there to make the drug companies, surgeons and Funeral Homes busy!

  • What about phytic acid in nuts? Isn’t that a problem? I personally can’t eat any nuts or I get ill. This is very similar to my diet that I’ve been following from adapting AIP and paleo. It’s works for anyone with autoimmune problems

  • Eat smaller amounts at a time? I’ve noticed this trend to volume eat, and that just doesn’t work for me…
In Japan children are instructed to be silent during eating, and to eat mindfully. That could be the key.

  • 2:33 She sounds like a cool witch…

But if she was cool..like SERIOUSLY savour it your bland taste buds should be put in boiling oil

  • I appreciate you tackling this, because I have a lot of belly/visceral fat I’m working on losing for my health, but some of these videos have gotten to me a little and had me wondering if there might be a food intolerance or something going on. But I think honestly it’s just salt/water/weight (in the shape of a baby bump because mom here hi).

  • I really liked this video because it started and ended with a clear Focus on what you can do without going into everything else very fine I really appreciated that.
and it would have been even more helpfull if the foods were written down: 1 avocado, green leaves, mushrooms, nuts, pressure cooked beans

  • We are NOT great apes, WE are HUMANS! You can be whatever you want to be, but I am a human being, made in the image of my maker, The GOD of all creation. Stop telling people that they are little more than glorified animals. We didn’t evolve from apes. God made apes apes, and humans humans. If HE didn’t, then why don’t we ever see all of the in between stages of evolution around us now? There are none. I can’t see how people can believe in such a theory, even if it is being taught as fact.

  • Malin I haven’t watched your videos in a long time for some reason (my bad!!!) and oh my gosh I’m so in awe by the quality and the effort you put into them! now that I’m trying to start posting regularly on youtube myself I’m even more amazed at your work. Sending love! xx

  • The shots are so cinematic and create such a cozy atmosphere with them! I really enjoy watching your videos so much and am always happy to see when you post a new video. Hope you’re well!

  • Why are they calling it ”meat diet” whilst talking about how they were eating different amounts of sugar? Remove the sugar and a true meat diet gives very stable blood sugar. I lost 10 kilos in 6 month on a real meat diet without refined carbo hydrates. Gained energy and muscle mass at the same time. I had a very stable blood sugar indeed (no dips in energy or anything).

  • The stuffed cabbage rolls are also a very polish dish but we put mince and rice inside and boil them in thick tomato sauce! I love making them vegan! Fun fact they are called ‘gołąbki’ which in straight translation means Pigeons

  • How unhealthy processed food could be “good eatings”?
    3:00 toxic frankenbutter
    3:30 toxic frankencheese
    4:00 toxic frankenyogurt
    4:15 processed sugar
    4:20 hepatotoxic fructose
    5:40 processed sugar
    5:50 phytoestrogens
    6:10 hepatotoxic fructose
    7:50 sucrose on fructose
    7:55 more sugar
8:30 no it doesnt, tofu is toxic for dogs. Most dogs are allergic to soy.
8:37 i hope it’s olive oil, not seedoil
    9:00 sugar
    9:27 sugar
    9:35 more sugar
    15:22 sugar
    15:27 toxic frankencream
    15:35 sugar
and it goes on and on and on…

  • These people work for free and don’t get paid while he act’s like a king and selfish pos. I hate people that act like they are a god.

  • I love this! I stayed with a close swedish friend in stockholm back in september and I loved the breakfasts we prepared together. the bread with butter, cheese, and cucumber and a side of yogurt and fruit was something we had every day! back in the US i’m sorely missing the oatly yogurt

  • I’m very sensitive to fodmaps. Watermelon is literally the worst. I actually have a picture when my stomach grew so much that i legit looked 7 months pregnant. Had to take a picture because even i couldn’t believe it.
Totally agree about carbonated drinks too but for me wheat and pulses are the WORST
    Thanks for this vid:)

  • Stopped BLOATING for good 3yrs now.
all stopped when I went lowcarb high fat, and bordering on carnivore.
amazing results-actually sort of shocking to me cause I didn’t expect that.
and now 3yrs in….haven’t had bloating for 3years

BUT according to Abbey, this is wrong….and that I will die of colon cancer…
when actually, she doesn’t know how to read studies properly. Not distinguishing between epidemiological studies vs rct meta analysis, nor does she know how to look at studies methodology

    Also,
seems like fibre (which I was concerned about originally as well-when I transitioned to the low carb/ high fat), isn’t all that necessary, very very strange. cause seriously, no constipation…

    very very strange.
Abbey please explain these references showing fibre is NOT needed in the human diet

  • The host comes across pretty dopey in certain moments with his “strong feelings” but credit where it’s due, inviting Dr. Barnard on the show was a great move. I enjoyed the discussion.

  • To all the moaners: Brian doesn’t go into an interview to arse kiss people. He hasn’t been paid by the meat industry to shoot this guy down. It’s a debate, it’s an argument. Brian has his own experiences and knowledge that he is putting to the ‘Experts’ to challenge. Great interview.

  • Nice one! but did you ever consider the importance of non-hybrid foods? Avocado has only 2g Protein per 100g & with nuts be careful with omega-6!!!

  • Swedish food looks so cozy, perfect for winter (it’s winter where i live!) We have our version of the cabbage rolls here, typically served with mashed potatoes and tomato sauce, but your version seems much more interesting! We don’t have lingonberries nor cranberries tough…

  • I panicked at subway and ordered a “vegetarian sallad” and the dude got me literally only vegetables. AND I CHOSE CEASAR SAUCE SO LIKE WHAT

  • Dr. Neal Barnard is like the Vegan version of Hercules. “I know every mile will be worth my while” he just keeps going and thank God he does. I’ve been vegan for 2 years and ate healthy whole foods and still do. I reversed 2 illnesses, lost weight and helped my dad lose weight and drop his BP to normal. THANK YOU DR. BARNARD so much. We love you<3 IM A PROUD VEGAN!

  • I have never been bloated on a vegan diet since 2 years ago when I started, also after 1-2 years of reducing every some months the different animal products I used to eat and adding new ones as a replacement. But i honestly think that maybe it is because since I was a kid my parents fed me with a mostly plant based diet with animal products as a side and not as the main dish, and not even eating them every day, and also following these diet in my adult life until I changed. So my digestive system has always been used to these foods and did not get stressed with the gradual change i did and the increased fibre intake and obviously with my current vegan diet. Anyway nice video and very informative, thanks.

  • Love your videos so well filmed and edited, and the recipes are always so delicious I absolutely love crisp bread with vegan cheese and cucumber or tomato, in Israel we love our light cream cheese (we call it “white” cheese) and we have a vegan version of this too:)

  • Looking at the picture the guy on the right is clearly vegan. I glanced at it and could tell by body composition and complexion. And how long did he even do this for? 12 weeks? what a joke It’s still short term and what else was the other guy eating besides meat? I’m gonna guess bread and grains too

  • Ahhh YESS I love Swedish food. It’s so cute to hear you speak in Swedish too, thank you for teaching us the names and the meaning behind them

  • YEEESSSSSS thank you for taking my suggestion of showing us more Swedish dishes (vegan version of them) I am so happy to be learning about that!

  • Dolly Parton’s rendition here of “Choline Choline” will be forever etched in my memory. Thank you for the literal “laugh out loud!!!!!! “

  • oh God.. i’m quiet interested in learning about gut’s health and bloating recently and this video pop up❤️ thanku so much abbey, sending tons of love for u!

  • Would not VEGAN vs CARNIVORE be MORE ACCURATE in terms of True opposite comparison.??? Vegan Vs. A standard diet are not EXACTLY opposite.. too many carbs in the SAD..

  • ‘Hugo noticed one exception to his higher energy levels — his libido, which he said dropped off sharply.

god damnit! that’s from the business insider article. must be lowered testosterone in his blood. so either you’re fit and balanced or you’re a cave man that wants to fuck and will die younger.

edit: so they analysed their feces but didn’t take their blood?! suuuure. wtf is going on there?

  • I notice for me I had to go vegan because I was having constant break outs bloating and even face swelling. So even though it taste good my body was suffering and my health. Once I went vegan no more bloating or allergic reactions or face swelling

  • vegetarians people who don’t eat meat but f.e: drink milk
Vegan people who don’t eat meat but also don’t drink milk becouse it harms the animals.

  • Regardless of the results this isn’t enough time to tell. Also presenting them as identical is a fallacy. Who knows what they were eating/activity level before this.

  • The standard SAD diet is a highly packaged processed diet of sugar and fake laboratory crap foods… a diet of fresh cut meats, fruit and vegetables called keto is the closest to the human species diet then anything

  • I’ve suffered from severe bloating for many years, I started antidepressants 3 weeks ago and have noticed that my bloating has improved a bit recently. Maybe it’s not related but it would be a welcome side effect if it is

  • Gains 4 lb in muscle esting meat and it vegan was able to keep up with same workout in gym? Different weights or what? He said exactly the same but doesnt seem possible.

  • This is what I was looking for. I started watching another video by the same doctor after 20 minutes straight of talking in circles and saying nothing I gave up on it(Not one bit of info in 20 minutes!!!!) This is to the point thanks!

  • Maybe it’s like this? no whole grains, no beans, spices and whole foods missing in the diet; don’t really retrain on how to prepare delicious and healthy vegan whole food no oil meals, and then revert to meat. Whatever. Next.

  • Ever since the company I work for bought Violife (or actually Arivia, the company that makes it), I get so happy when I see it:D:D

  • How about doing a true test of competing diets? Both go back to a SAD diet for a a few months before you start the test, then have your blood work and whatever other labwork you need done an MRI to show how much visceral fat you have and the condition of your vital organs, bone density etc, a calcium score would be good for older people doing such a test to see how clear your arteries are, and maybe look at the brain as well, and do all this BEFORE you start the new diets and then again AFTER. One of you should eat ONLY VEGETABLES, grains, nuts, seeds and whatever non-animal fats typically recommended on a clean VEGAN diet. The other twin should try CARNIVORE eating fatty meats and offal only, or KETO eating fatty meats, eggs, dairy and the low carb vegetables recommended. Wean off caffeine and alcohol in the final weeks of the SAD diet before you start the new diets as well as both of those will change the results. Do it for 12 weeks and then do your blood tests again. Also do a bit of research about what lab results are important and which are now in question cholesterol for one is in question. We are no longer sure if high cholesterol matters as much as we’ve been told when you look at all cause mortality and cholesterol levels. But inflammation levels (hs-CRP) is a really important one as inflammation seems to be the base of all chronic disease. So whichever diet manages to lower inflammation the most is probably the most beneficial. I’d love to see a video on that! Thumbs me up if you’d like to see this as well!

  • I could tell who did what before they said because the guy on the right his hair is thinning and the other looks thick & healthier same for the skin

  • A better doctor to get food advice is Dr Mark Hyman. He espouses a PEGAN diet…mostly plant based but occasionally eat animal products.

I was a vegan at one point and felt great in the beginning but after being on the diet for almost 2 years I started to have declining health…thinning hair, muscle cramps and stiff joints, bloating, dry scaly skin, rashes, mood swings, etc…

This is not a unique experience for alot of vegans!! Feels great in the beginning but eventually health starts to decline..

Literally when I ate an egg and fish, I felt so much better…

My health has improved drastically since introducing animal products in my diet.

Dr Mark Hyman espouses a more realistic and less militant and healthy approach to eating. Please invite him to your show.

  • All about balance I believe. I’ve been vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, flexitarian, keto and Mediterranean style. Honestly felt the best doing the Mediterranean lifestyle above all but I was vain and wanted faster weight loss and went keto messed up my gut and was in pain for a bit. I’m pregnant now and I practice a more balanced diet for both the baby and myself and my health it so much better than it has been in the past. I just listen to my body now and eat what I crave. Mostly fruits and grains plus veggies lately but I crave meat like once or twice a weak so I allow it. I believe my gut is doing a lot better nowadays too so that’s good. I do agree they should have went more into the blood works and other stuff but yeah I do agree that having more plants in your diet can be very beneficial. Hopefully everyone can find what works best for them.

  • I’m a relatively new vegan and just opened a new box of frosted mini wheats:( of course I’ll finish it so it doesn’t go to waste but that’s disappointing. They have a lot of good fortifications added to them Thank you for this video cause I wouldn’t have thought to check for that!

  • So true. Watched that video. All the independent doctors there recommended a plant based diet. All the paid for people recommended meat dairy eggs and processed foods.

  • Dr. Grundy, about avocado-from Dr. Bernard Jensen’s Book (Foods that Heal ) It takes 10 avocado to make one teaspoon
of avocado oil, but one teaspoon of pure concentrated avocado oil harm the liver, while if you took ten avocados the way you are supposed to eat them the liver would not be harmed. Is this suggesting not to use avocado oil, just eat avocado naturally?
Dr.Steven Grundy, you are my Idol…….I have learned a lot from you…keep helping humanity by sharing your knowledge.
    You are the best….

  • What was the point of this? Neither person shared what they were eating every day, what amounts, what they were doing for exercise, how often, what their measurements, blood work, bmi, weight loss, before/post, etc. All they talked about was when they started and how they felt during. I got no information or learned anything at all except for one thing I think they are very handsome men, so it was nice to watch them on camera.

  • But what about tomatoes and cucumbers. I use tomatoes in my salads with cucumbers and when cooking my vegan meals. Can I deseed tomatoes and cucumbers or do i also need to remove skin? Is it ok to eat at least twice a week?

  • Dr. Gundry advice on super foods is something that I follow daily. I’m a fan of his because of his books he wrote named diet evolution and plant paradox.

  • If Brian Rose could just let go of his ego he could be an excellent interviewer. However, behaving as he does I find it hard to watch or listen to his show.

  • I was intrigued, until I found out it wasnt vega, or carnivore. It was vegetarian vs SAD. But it is typical of what I expect of nutritionists. We cant have those pesky scientific facts getting in the way, the data isnt a lie. I ate the SAD diet for 53 years. I was awarded with severe type 2 diabetes [HBA1C of 11.7% and a BG level of 594. Basically a nap or two away from a coma].

The twins are never to be taken serious. LOSERS they both are. Or more likely just shills to a vegan movement. Which is why they didnt actually do vegan.

I have been ketogenic for three years. Effectively CURED my diabetes in one day. Gave up fruits and veggies and grains. I didnt know it was called carnivore diet, so be it. I’m never goiing back, and I inform people all the time that the medical establishments lied to us for 60 years. Just like they are lying to us about covid19.

There are four reason not to wear a mask…
1Health reasons (as in breathing difficulties)
2Physical reasons (as in skin type, allergies, or a beard)
3Political reasons (I refuse to be muzzled)
4Legal reasons (with a conceal carry permit it is illegal to wear any face covering)

Absolutely zero reasons to wear a mask, unless you are performing surgery. Going to Walmart isnt quite surgery.

  • The one day of eating one colour is great! I d suggest red!
However, as Italian I m often told that I kinda sing when i talk, but from what I see and hear German accent also is pretty melodic! Or is just you? Adorable anyway:) keep up with the content! Always enjoy it!

  • yesterday i ate 100% legumes. all i ate was chickpeas for lunch. i couldn’t eat anything else because i had some dental surgery rofl.

also purple-skinned white-fleshed sweet potatoes are one of the best things on earth (i hate potatoes that aren’t sweet potatoes). you can buy them in any australian supermarket tho.

edit if you want to eat red onion raw, slice it up and soak it in water for a while. then rinse it out. makes it more mild.

  • Well thanks for wasting 15 minutes of my life. Interesting subject but smacks of bait-and-switch when you’re really only showing selected bits of an interview and NOT sharing the info everyone actually tuned in for. You could have at least shared the stats pinned at the top. Not surprisingly, I won’t be hitting the subscribe button.

  • 1 eat healthy
    2 be positive
    3 do exercise
4 avoid doing excessive masturbation (if u can avoid it at all cost)
5 do intermitent fasting basing on ur activities
6 avoid non veg if u can

  • how about full day of eating junk? (the last food group) you‘ll probably feel very bloated but it would be fun too see all the vegan options for sweets etc!

  • I used to have difficulties breathing through my nose and it turned out that this caused bloating for me. Once I got that fixed the bloating went away:)

  • There’s no reason why on a vegan diet you can’t put on muscle. Food doesn’t build muscle, muscle-building exercise does. As long as you’re getting enough calories and protein (and we only need about 2 1/2% of our calories to come from protein-the average vegan gets significantly more protein than they need-actually too much animal protein is linked to increases in heart disease and cancer and too much of any kind of protein puts stress on the kidneys and liver), you can gain like all the vegan, vegetarian, vegan-since-birth…body builders. I’m not sure what was off, but a very possible reason: You did lose fat, which suggests you may have been operating on a calorie deficit. Even though you were taking in as many calories as your omni brother, the additional fiber on the plant-based diet may have prevented the body from actually using all of those calories. It’s one of the reasons people can eat an ad libidum (at one’s pleasure, no calorie restriction) whole-food, low fat vegan diet and incidentally keep losing weight: the fiber and nutrients fill you before you can eat too many calories and some of the calories stay locked up in the fiber (unless you’re eating a lot of fruit which is more easily absorbable since we’re frugivores, not herbivores-though a herbivorous diet is still much healthier for us since it more closely matches the foods and macros we are meant to consume-and even on a frugivorous diet, you’re going to get and stay slim). Wanted to mention this so no one gets the idea that you can’t put on muscle without harming animals and in case you were disappointed at the prospect of not being able to go fully vegan. I think it’s great that you’re increasing plant consumption. The rest of us also need to reduce or eliminate animal products if we want to conserve this planet which offers us so much beauty and adventure, as well as being rather necessary for our continued existence. The philosophy of veganism is to avoid the exploitation of animals as much as is possible and practicable. If, on your adventures, you have to eat them or their products to survive, it would not necessarily preclude you from being vegan. As long as you’re doing as much as you can, and not inflicting needless suffering according to your current awareness, ability and situation.

  • I love a vegan diet (mainly allergy related so of course I lost bloating) I lost a clothes size just from loosing the bloat which was so painful but I thought it was normal as a child and teen.
I really love that a vegan diet it’s not just meat and two veg it’s so exciting to explore food in a new way!

  • The one eating meat was also eating carbs/sugar thus the highs and lows of energy. The one eating meat, though, is way more ripped!

  • Wow, these dishes look so delightful! I’m always brighter after watching your videos. Thank you for sharing food from your culture:)

  • It would be interesting to see what kind of diets they led. Eating vegan or omnivore doesn’t mean healthy, so there is a significant discrepancy there.
Also, how did they perform in the gym before they took on this experiment?

  • if the meat eater also eats vegetables and grains they will reduce his absorption of the meat nutrients making the meat eating less effective than it otherwise would be; a better study would be a full carnivore vs a full vegan

additionally, if you do a long term study your results will be more accurate because, in the short term, the vegans body survives by eating itself

  • Seems like this Gundry guy has forgotten that many people are sensitive to OXALATES and phytic acid!! He seems to be believing that lectins are the only bad thing in plants!! Study before listening to this guys advice!!

  • Anecdotal, but I had sibo for about 2 years. In late 2018 I made the connection that after eating vegetables I would eat several cups of sauteed zucchini, chard in soup, carrots, and salad greens every dinner made me feel horrible. removed all vegetables, and within three days by boating was 80% reduced. But I upped my fruit, cherries, apples, grapes. I felt horrible again, then I read about fructose malasorption and the fructose-to-glucose ratio and about fodmaps and fructans, and I cut out all fruit too. I have been no fruit, no vegetables for over a year and I never thought I would be able to eat and not feel sick and bloated but I can:) I still react if I eat anything with even dried celery in it.

  • NikkiVegan also has a very informative video about bloating on a vegan diet, if anyone is interested to get a few more ideas about what they can try to improve digestion. I found it very helpful and now after many years of painful bloating feel so much better.

  • The average meat eater has atleast 80% cards in their diet. Veganism isn’t the solution, this man was lucky he had plenty of animal stores. This diet is banned in countries because its killing children and bringing back rickets!

  • I made a comment about WFPB on another, unrelated, video… I was immediately rebutted and told that it was untrue and the science pointed to a non processed meat/low carb diet being the most natural and healthy one for a human being!
I said “I’m sorry my friend but scientific research points exactly in the opposite direction” Well, you’d think I’d just called him a racist because came back at me very hard LOL
I knew I was not going to win this argument or even get him to see my point of view, so I just said “OK” and left it at that.
I have learned (after many hours of back and forth with some people) that some battles aren’t even worth fighting. Some people are just not going to listen, no matter how good the evidence.
God bless you mate, thanks for all you’re doing.

  • The term of the study was too short. I went vegan for 15 months and then within a month my health went bad, cold all the time, no enerrgy, mood was bad. I am 5 ft 9 and lost 20 pounds, down to 145. So, then I slowly transitioned into a carnivore diet and now healthier than I’ve ever been in my life. Now I’m at 155.

  • veganism is a complete mental illness.
Its totally unnatural in every way and its shrouded by the false argument that its somehow “natural” to consume nothing but sugar and man made “vegetables”.

  • The dairy is not the real food for the adult human, this is for the baby!!! Thats why lot of disease in India!!!… the adult protein food is the small amount of meat!!!!

  • I’m a vegetarian and it’s not even because I did it for the environment or anything it’s because my mom is an awful cook with meat (no hate mom lol) so some things I am not going to care about like gelatin in some things. I mean like gummy bears and stuff like that is different but a lot of things that we don’t know or are very uncommon to have meat in it. It is to hard to avoid for me and I don’t care that much lol

  • Clearing up the difference of processed carbs and regular carbs is a good idea, people should not be afraid of them. a low fibre diet is also what I’ve seen as a chef for the last few decades.

  • 18:06 I hate people when make this point.
Though im not sure if dairy is good or not.
Stating we are the only species that uses it past infancy like it means we are wrong to do it is itself just plain stupid….
We are the only species to invent the wheel, bronze, the computer we are the only ones to live on all corners of the world, develop complex speaking patterns the only species to leave the planet and land on the moon, the only one to send an object outside of the solar system.
So following her logic we should keep eating/drinking dairy cause it lead to us doing things that make us awesome.

  • Just started your diet and switched from eating brown rice to fermented millet and sorghum. Been mostly vegetarian for twenty years. Your diet is easy for me to follow, I have seen a noticeable change in my weight already Thanks!!!

  • I’ve been vegan for over 2 months and I gotta be honest. Thats the longest a diet has lasted, I’ve went keto and that didn’t last 3 weeks! I thought there was somthing wrong with me but after going vegan i’ve never felt happier, I’ve learnt so many cooking skills and finally learnt how not to burn plates:D I’m planning to be vegan forever no matter how people view me:P

  • If I know I have something important or a day I want to look good, I worry im gonna bloat. I try to ignore it and not think about getting bloated……and then it ends up making me bloated. Has anyone else also experienced bloating along with stress or thinking about bloating causes the bloating?

  • actually if laughter was the best medicine then a joke that fell flat would be worst practice because it wouldn’t incite laughter…

  • I don’t think there’s just a new interest in reducing bloating, I think things are just so much more processed than they were in previous years and a lot of our guts just can’t handle it anymore. But informative video, thanks! Maybe i’ll give low-fodmap foods a try again:)

  • Yes… and let’s have a look at their teeth and spine in 5, 10, 15 years’ time… while I love eating veggies and fruit all day, I have found teeth and calcium levels suffer from a 100% vegan diet.

  • wow thank you for the fact based knowledge! It’s always refreshing to come across well rounded intelligent people who understand how to take in and then relay information. I’m glad I stumbled upon your corner of the internet

  • I love this interview style video! Have you ever planned on starting a podcast? I would of 100% listened to this in podcast form too!

  • “We have no more reason to suck on the teats of a cow than we have to suck on the breasts of a post-partum weasel”

Oh my god, that’s my new favorite line definitely will be using that one a lot in the future.

  • Just found your channel, I’m deeply interested in the topic of nutrition and excited to watch this video, however, I wanted to also say I am deeply distracted by your eyes! #BetchaNeverHeardThatOne

  • A compelling testimony in favor of plant-based is looking at these men: Brian was born in 1971 and in his forties; Neal was born in 1953 and is in his sixties. Brian looks like he’s well into his fifties and Neal could easily pass for 50.

  • Happy New year to all, love the videos, they are great for a beginner vegan, the info is epic and loving your cheeky sense of humour

  • I really struggled with severe bloating when I went vegan… I was miserable. I went to a doctor and started an elimination diet. Found out I struggle digesting mushrooms (which I was casually mixing in my meals 1-2 times a day) anywhoo all better now that I just avoid them.

  • this is so stupid. what does vegan mean? what does non vegan mean? there are vegans who are healthy and eat healthy and look great. there are vegans who eat trash and look like aids patients. there are non vegans who are healthy and eat clean, grass fed meat, pastured eggs, organs meats and look flawless, have massive levels of energy and vigor and then there are non vegans who eat processed foods and look awful.

  • And the better you make veganism look, the more views you get. Do you also not profit from veganism? I like your videos but how did you miss the blatant hypocrisy in this statement about the low-carb author?

  • Carb is not the same.. it’s good to take your carbs from vegetables. At the same time, I don’t think carbs from grains is good. My dad had to undergo angioplasty 2 times. He eats a lot of rice (brown rice). He doesn’t eat candies, doesn’t add sugar to his beverage. Eats chicken or fish once or twice a week.. Total cholestrol is 160 but he is type 2 diabetic

  • Dr Gundry did you said you love worm crumbles? sorry I didn’t understand and definitely don’t know what they are if anybody reads my post and know what is the Doc is referring to please would you let me know!! Thanks in advance!!

  • the carnivore guys aren’t reporting any bloating or constipation issues (apart from the transition first couple of weeks sometimes). this is related to the toxins and chemicals in plants. need to do elimination diet I guess.

  • To be fair it’s very hard to sit cross legged. I can’t do that and it is a common problem for me during traditional ceremonies. I am a vegetarian and not at all flexible.

  • What about intermittent fasting 16:8, 20:4 low carb, high fat diet? Let’s see that “keto” diet put up against the vegan diet in the long run (10 yrs beyond)?

  • omfg.. this is the first youtube comment I’ve ever written.. I usually dont bother.. but this I have to say. There is no “vegan vs low carb”. We play in the same team. You can be extremely healthy on vegan, and you can be extremely healthy on low carb/keto. But you can also do vegan wrong and be unhealthy and you can do low carb wrong and be unhealthy. Plants are good and so are meat. All meat aint good for you and there is veggies that arent that good for you either like a baked potato which contains about 15 sugar cubes.. A grassfed cow who is raised on a legit farm, that meat is fucking awesome for you but that beef in the store who contains antibiotic, thats fucking terrible for you. Sugar, transfat and all those chemicals that are put into our food are the enemy. I cant believe people are still arguing about this.. just look at the science with an open mind and you will see. Eat what you want, but stay away from unnatural chemicals, sugar and transfat. And Im not recomending gluten eatiher but thats not a killer enemy, it just kinda fucks with your head and immunsystem. What Im trying to say that its fucking easy to be healthy, you just have to put down this “one diet for everyone” bullshit and focus on what is actually bad for us. Chemicals, sugar and transfat. Its not that fucking hard people..

  • Lost 60lbs in 5 months on Vegan lifestyle. Not ashamed to say that some of it was tastebud adjustment, but mostly I just naturally began to eat the amount if food for the energy I was needing.

  • Bernards point on reward of smoking or drinking is just stupid. Yes, i have addictive personality and drinking and smoking does reward me, but it makes me feel worse after the high is over. You will NEVER experience this with eating meat. The longer i keep up with a diet containing only selected veggies and animal products, the better i feel.

  • The top killers of first world county people include cardiovascular disease (heart attaches, strokes, diabetes) and cancer. Those are all linked with animal products, meat, eggs and milk; capillaries get clogged with cholesterol (and glycation if you are a high sugar eater) and eventually your coronary arteries and blood vessels of the brain. Not only is a plant based diet a healthier choice for humans, but also for the entire planet. The carnivorous diet that is the current trend is deadly for most organisms involved.

  • The first clip you showed: Why on earth do you need notes for a three minute presentation for drinking water?? Lol
    Great video mate.

  • When I read the title I thought you made a video in swedish. That would have been so cool! But I also liked seeing typical swedish dishes.

  • Great advice. Chewing (sugar free) gum in excess may play a role both in delivering poorly digested sugar alcohols like xylitol and causing greater air intake.

  • “our job is to do the science” … and yet I cannot find any science that links a specific chemical or molecule in Meat, or Red Meat, to any health issue. There is always an external adulterant involved, or pre-existing health conditions in the study subjects (almost always unhealthy mice). Vegetables, on the other hand have many. Cyanide is derived from plants. Mustard gas comes from plants. Hemlock comes from plants. Arsenic comes from plants. Ricin comes from plants. Heme iron the iron that the human body uses to regulate oxygen in all of its functions, comes from meat. Oh, and cooking anything creates AGEs and Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons. These are not naturally found in raw meat.

  • I kind of blame Oprah for this anti-carb thing. She promoted Atkins back in the day and it hit hard with house wives and others with buying power and influence and who took it as the answer to all weight loss. I know it sounds like a stretch, but she really had that kind of influence with a lot of things.

  • Serious question: Don’t horses, cows, gorillas, and other animals, eat plenty of insects, including worms and spiders, and dirt when they eat grass and leaves? Aren’t these sources of proteins and minerals for them?

  • Fantastic. This guy is only 100% accurate to what I spent 40 years learning.(everybody I know is on plant based diet, but some are very sick.)

  • Åh så mysigt video! Kul att se som svensk också haha!
Har nog dock aldrig ätit kåldolmar och vet knappt om jag testat raggmunk heller, föredrar alltid rårakor! Så ska definitivt testa kåldolmarna! x

  • yeaaaaah boiii!!! F**k I’m excited to hear so many high cred experts sharing well-established science. Man.. I actually shed a tear, things are going to get better for the animals.
