  • Hey everyone, thanks for watching! Mac n cheese has always been one of my favorite dishes — and I don’t know about you, but I’m NOT giving that comfort up just because I eat plant based — hopefully this video proves you don’t have to. Who else should I have on the show?? What else should I veganize?? SO MANY QUESTIONS. Help a girl out

  • I’ve made this 3 times already for my 2 boys and husband. We have tried so many box mac and cheese’s and home made ones and this is our favorite hands down! Will forever be making this

  • I think he gave her an 8 to be nice.

I hope there are some African Americans in the comments to speak on how culturally bread crumbs in OUR Mac n Chz is a no go.

  • I wish all vegans are like that restaurant owner, she acknowledged that not all people are vegan and she made the food palatable to everyone. And it surprised me that majority of her customer are actually not vegan, id go there, seem like the place is friendly with no vegans forcing their political views and diet down my throat

  • “chesse produce 7x more co2 than tofu” OK FINE, but how much water does it need to produce soy at a same rate????? Environement isnt only about co2 and soy seems far from a good way to lower meat consomption.

  • I’m a carpenter living in Hawaii I’m 58 years old and I’ve been vegan for 45 years, when i was 13 i realized my love for animals and could not stand to see them as food, so I’ve been to promote the vegan lifestyle for those 45 years. I’m presently building a house for a man 55 years old who has become a vegan after 25 years working as a butcher.
I turned him on to your YouTube channel BOSH TV,
and he loves it so much that he makes all most everything you cook,
Thank you for making the vegan lifestyle so delicious and keep up the great work.. ✌

  • So many steps just to make vegan mac n cheese. But then I have not found the best non-vegan option either so maybe I could give this recipe a try.

  • I know it’s offensive and I’m sorry but nobody noticed that the woman in the restaurant looks like Emma Chamberlain but going through the crisis of the forties?

  • This is positively delicious! I made it yesterday and I love it, my daughter loves it, my grandson loves it! Definitely a keeper recipe. I will make this over and over again. And, I am not a vegetarian; never mind a vegan. I do, however, limit meat meals to once or twice and week. Keep these recipes coming!

  • Great video! Love the restaurant owners philosophy as well. I follow a vegan diet and I’m not one of those “crazy vegans.” I do think we ALL have to think about the sustainability of our planet and it’s hard to argue science. The truth is, the production of many animal products is killing us and our planet. To deny that is to contribute to the problem. I’ve watched too many people with health problems, of whom I love and care for die of poor diet diseases. I was sick and once changing my food habits, ended all my issues. It was difficult, but not impossible. Not judging, just trying to inform and encourage! Take Care Everyone ✌

  • You don’t need to put in all that work with the cashews. Boiled potatoes in the blender with a little bit of water makes an amazing cream

  • OMG, you two are so cute! XD <3 I need a good mac 'n cheese recipe to impress my family to help them make the switch. I already got meatball subs down but they are definitely about cheese too.

  • Hi Maddie Lymburner, This is Trinity Walker. I am in Harlingen Texas with my family, Tia and also my sister and I watched the best vegan Mac and cheese recipe / oil free and healthy! Oh my gosh you guys made Mac and cheese with substitut bacon using Tabasco at the end. Thank you Maddie

  • Omg Im trying this recipe rn waiting for my noodles to finish boiling but I tasted the cheese and its so good thank you for this recipe!

  • I love you both! Merle, thanks for promoting Veganism in a positive way! Now… Q…

I love you, Q! Let’s be in an R so we can have some S! ❤️

  • I like how honest Q was. He didn’t even try to pretend the two vegan mac and cheeses were better than his mom’s. It gave his high scores for the vegan mac more credibility.

  • Hi, I am a Vegan who would love to work with you on an event, I write, produce, sing, dance, etc. My new friend of about three months is an African American Bodybuilder from Kenya. • I love channels like this that show vegans that are actually normal people and are balanced and realistic in what they eat. I hope all aspiring vegans find your channel instead of some of these other vegan channels on this platform.

  • am i in need because its covid and i havent got laid in i cant remember how long,or is this whole episode has sexual references hahaha, maby a mix of both 😉

  • He knows nothing about macaroni and cheese by calling that mac and cheese good macaroni and cheese is called macaroni and cheese. Bad macaroni and cheese is called mac and cheese. Black people do not make mac and cheese

  • Humans are lactose intolerant because we’re not baby calves, we don’t need cow or any other specie’s breast milk. We’ve weaned from breast in our infancy.

  • Me throughout this whole video mmmmmmm! now I’m gonna make vegan Mac and cheese!! Yaaaay!
Ps, I’m vegan too!! Like if you are too!⬇️

  • I am 100% for people wanting to eat meat. My fiancé is a fisherman and hunter and I fully support that. Just as he supposes me being vegetarian. I am becoming vegetarian and I slowly want to go from vegetarian to vegan. For health purposes. So if anyone has any advice on become vegetarian for me then hmu plsssss

  • Kinda like when you have a day off and you jump out of bed thinking your late for work…..Does your heart ever skip a beat think “OMG! IS THIS VEGAN”?…… Oh yeah it is! Lol

  • i made this for me and my non vegan boyfriend and we both loved it!!! super creamy and delicious!! i put crispy onions on top instead of the breadcrumbs and it was very yummy! broccoli on the side was great too:)

  • I’m not even a vegan, but man vegan cooking is such an interesting art, I guess cutting down on the meat might not be that bad after all thnx for the inspiration!

  • The comments are basically
95% people telling others not to complain so much about the recipe
5% people actually complaining about the recipe

  • One comment mentioned this in the video with Merle and Q.

When blending the cashew cream together, add the cold water in quarter cups. It makes it creamier

  • Merle there is a guy on Get Wasted who made Ahi Tuna with tomatoes and 5 other ingredients. Can u work your magic at do this for us please??

  • Im not vegan but have wanted to try vegan mac n cheese. Will try this receipe.

Update: i did make this vegan mac n cheese. It was delicious. Doesnt taste exactly like real mac n cheese but very close thanks to nutritional yeast. Will definitely make this again.

  • Some of the vegan food is a weird non-vegan meal mockery. I eat almost vegan, except I don’t eat gluten and I do eat seafood. No; dairy, cow/pig/chicken/lamb/eggs etc etc. There are so many wonderful things to make out of plants and vegan ingredients, alone, that the dishes mimicking non vegan meals just don’t make sense to me. Even if I didn’t eat seafood, I’d still feel this way. But whatever, we all have to eat and enjoy life. Different people thrive with different diets. Bon appetit y’all

  • VEGAN MOTIVATION 2020: I went vegan at 12, not rich or privileged, non vegan family, and still vegan 4 years later. Had no problem building muscle, If I can do it, so can you! Let’s leave animal cruelty in the past

I’m a fellow vegan YouTuber by the way. Let’s get our health back 2020.

  • I made this and it was so good! I just went vegan and I love Mac and cheese so this was perfect! It was easy, delicious, and still tastes good as a leftover. I love this so much! ❤️ yummy!!

  • It does look good and I’ve missed making macaroni & cheese, but the problem is the cheese, there’s no mention of what type of cheese was used in this recipe. A lot of vegan cheeses have honestly tasted awful but the one in this recipe seemed to melt nicely, what type was it, anyone out there able to tell me?

  • Don’t drain the veggie water… drink it.. like soup. I’m going to try this recipe because your skeptic guy convinced me that it really was good..

  • i dont see any comments hating on this its all just triggered vegans also generalizing “meat eaters” as cruel people is just awful i only eat meat that i get fro my neighbors cows and other animals which are raised well and eggs from my own chickens. i watched this video since my sister is vegan and i wanted few recopies to cook for her. i even thought of turning vegan until i saw how rude and hypocritical they are.. not all vegans are like this but i dont want to be associated with a group that brings so much negativity.

  • Watches intro; giggles. Watches next footage; swoons away. Beautifully filmed and edited, you two, and the cheeky voiceover is now a hallmark of this channel; too many YTers do super serious voiceovers, like they’re defusing a bomb or something, so I’m glad your style is less formal. Such a satisfying viewing experience, and I’m sure this mac n’ cheese is amazing! TFP: )

  • That girl (Lady) who did the recipe is cool and chill AF. I like brother man’s laid back vibe too. That restaurant owner was right on and not preachy!

  • Finally somebody puts a decent amount of pepper into their food. You’d be amazed at the cooing channels putting the tiniest dash when cooking.

  • Wow you guys have a vegan butter spread how cool, what else do you have?!!!!!! How exciting, congratulations! Mac and cheese looks delicious by the way!!!!! ❤️Kathy

  • Ok I made this, consistency was great but it was seriously lacking in taste. I added the juice of half a lemon, a tsp of mustard, and more salt, now it’s perfect

  • I know it’s been like two years… but here are some tips and tricks to make the BEST mac ‘n’ cheese!
    1. When boiling the vegetables, boil the cashews with them. Why? It’ll soften the cashews, making the sauce creamier and smoother when you blend it.

    2. Instead of ‘reserved water’ use a creamy non-dairy milksuch as soy or cashew. Why? It will also make the sauce creamier and it won’t taste like soup.

    3. If you don’t like onion, add half an onion instead of a whole one and reduce or omit the amount of onion powder. Why? My mac ‘n’ cheese tasted very onion-y, but I don’t mind that taste. However, if you do mind it, then do the above.

    4. Boil your vegetables for five minutes longer. Why? Creamier! Smoother! Cheesier!

    5. Add the spices you like. If you don’t like garlic powder, DON’T ADD IT! I added turmeric, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder. Think of the spices you like! Cumin? Sure! Oregano? Sure! Thyme? Sure!

6: Add vegan cheese on top for a cheesier mouth feel and taste.

    ❤️

  • NOT EVEN CLOSE>… Yes this is a fast way for the kids… but hell to the NO this is not right.. I’ve had some of the bes Mac and cheese and this isn’t it.. 1 out of 5 this is a 2… sorry

  • ok. I must try this cheese recipe next. I need to make a change to my family’s eating habits. Tryingto go dairy, oil, meat free at least 5 days out of 7 days! To much fat will lead to cancer, strokes, all that bad stuff. I’m going for high starch, lowfat diet.

  • I made this tonight by following the directions on the YouTube above. It was so simple and delicious. This is the first time I have made Mac and Cheese. My meat eater husband loved it too.

  • Did anyone make this and it didn’t taste the greatest lol? I’ll retry making it see if it turns out better… I had no yeast!!! Maybe that’s why?

  • I’m a new vegan and was so looking forward to trying this. I’ve used nooch on my spaghetti to give it that cheesy flavor, but I don’t know if there is too much in this recipe or what, but I didn’t like this at all. It is definitely nothing like Mac and cheese. It’s more like Mac and a gross sauce. I’m so disappointed that I wasted all this food making this recipe. I still love your channel, but I really wish vegans would stop calling this Mac and cheese when it tastes nothing like that! Hey Vegans, call things what they are, not what you miss from when you were not vegan. It doesn’t help anyone by doing that. Sorry Maddie, this was a huge fail for me.

  • Don’t add a lot of carrot, don’t forget to add the onion, use raw cashews (in case it wasn’t clear), definitely add nutritional yeast, and add some paprika. It was delicious still

  • I make a recipe very similar to this one but I add nutritional yeast (you have to have it if want that cheese flavour imo) I also add mustard powder and then add Daiya (or any dairy free shredded cheese) to make it nice and stretchy and really cheesy:))

  • Listen up, guys, this is hands down the BEST thing I’ve ever eaten. I added a few little extras though: 1.) I added homemade tofu-cashew-based cream cheese to the sauce 2.) I baked some smoked tofu that I cut into really tiny cubes in the oven until it resembled bacon 3.) I made some carammelized onions for the topping 4.) I added sauteed mushrooms 5.) I topped it with the onions, lots of black pepper, fresh salad greens and lots of homemade cashew-parmesan cheese. This tastes like a restaurant-worthy dish and I’m not even vegan, wow! 10/10 for this one

  • https://www.epa.gov/stationary-sources-air-pollution/manufacturing-nutritional-yeast-national-emission-standards Is nutritional yeast still vegan?

  • Hey, vegans stop having this grandiose image of yourself. You act like you save the Earth, but guess what sis: the world is going to end in 2050 anyways, no matter if you choose to eat that vegan macaroni and cheese or not (by the way I’m a vegan just because I don’t like the taste of milk and meat, not because I think eating vegan will save the world) Update: this recipe toasted horrible

  • I added a couple of changes to this original recipe, and even my total omnivore husband loved it! First, I replaced the reserved liquid with equal amount of non-dairy milk, then added extra garlic salt to taste, and then just a touch of sriracha just for taste… and it was a hit!

  • I won’t believe that all of these triggered vegans complaining about the triggered meat-eaters actually saw an angry meat-eater comment, but rather a lot of them just knew that other people were complaining.

  • Good on people in the comments for being mature

I’m perfectly fine with people eating meat,I just don’t like how industries treat animals. I eat meat it its hunted or is the local meat market (all their meat is hunted or from legit farms )

  • This is the recipe I would stick too. Along with spicing it up with the yeast and lemon juice. I’ve seen other recipes that use almond milk and other cheese/dairy like substances and I’m allergic to that stuff so, this will have to do. Thank you so much!

  • People commenting you’re not vegan it’s okay. Let me tell you. It’s not. It’s actually not okay. Cows are raped. (Things they don’t want you to see or know about) And 73%of the carbon emmision can be reduced if we went vegan(Oxford study) and so many lands can be turned into forests. It’s not okay to be non vegan, certainly not. But it does get a little difficult to suddenly give up your lifestyle and you know what’s okay? to start with little changes And slow change is still okay. Research a little on this.

  • First time I have all the ingridients at home I think… but I had pasta for lunch:(…so I shouldnt eat pasta twice a day…or should I?:D

  • I think instead of boiling you should consider water sauté the onion & garlic before adding your potatoes & carrots. Then add a bit of mustard & paprika powder. I think i’d do that w/ this recipe.

  • Hey Tasty, I’ve seen so many good vegan recipes from you, and I’ve been considering making the change myself, but I’m really struggling with the fact that I have a severe nut allergy, and most of the “creamy” dishes I’ve seen tend to always use Cashews, my deadly foe. Do you (or does anyone) have any suggestions of “creamy”-like substitutes that aren’t nuts to try in my recipes?

  • since the comments are meant to be helpful…i tried this once and i just fell in love with it! it has become my absolute favorite comfort food. anyone should try this, vegan or not! i’ve made this multiple times and i have some tips for making it even more tasty:
    1. add 1 tsp paprika (or even more if you love paprika!)
    2. double the nutritional yeast
    3. boil the veggies in veggie stock
    4. replace the reserved water with plant milk (almond or soy milk works the best, coconut milk ruins the taste) or add half reserved water, half milk
    5. add pepper to taste
    6. don’t be afraid to add more cashews!

  • The moment you realise everyone’s telling ppl to stop hating but you see no hate
XD do t fight a war before it started
Also I’m vegetarian and it upsets me that i know nothing is pure most of the stuff is in the same factories so it’s not truely vegan

  • Ummm sooo… I just made this and didn’t have any kind of vegan cheese with me so just without it. I’ve made so many other vegan Mac and cheese but this is by far the cheesiest, tastiest, most delicious vegan Mac I’ve ever had

  • Why do people always use aluminum foil to roast garlic. That’s kinda unnecessary waste. Just turn the garlic upside down and it will work as well (maybe with lower heat)

  • Your channel is growing so much Y’all deserve it. Your videos are awesome and your recipes look delicious. Thanks for sharing

  • I know this vid is 3 years old, however, I just had to comment after watching.
Everyone needs a Kyle in the vegan community, he is the TRUTH. I have tried a lot of vegan recipes and a lot of times they do not mock the inspired food or recipe.
    Your honesty is appreciated.

    BTW:Great video

  • Damn ITS NOT LIKE VEGANS CRAVE CARROTS AND BROCOLI OUR BODIES CRAVE NON VEGAN FOOD AS WELL SO WHATS YOUR PROBLEM WITH VEGAN MAC AND CHEESE

  • My vegan mac and cheese sauce is waaaay more simple. It has homemade cashew cream, nutritional yeast, salt, brags aminos, and a can of organic green chile salsa all blended. Hers is super interesting though.

  • This is way more fatty than it needs to be. Cashews are gonna give more than enough fat. If you want to thicken, boil up and blend some root veg.

  • Its genius..Made it LOVE it, I used almond milk, a few splashes, and the veggie broth makes a huge difference with Nutritional yeast for consistency,. I added some paprika, garlic onion powder, its also a great way to use up my carrots, onions and a couple potatoes without just making Soup or eating raw Thank you so much! Oh I baked mine with cauly crumbs on top

  • I’m actually little bit sad that vegans are trying to replicate something with animal products. Like vegan meat, or vegan egg, or yes, even vegan mac and cheese. Because vegan meals are unique and delicious in its own way. And I’m sad because companies are trying to recreate something for meat eaters so they’d stop eating meat but to be honest that’s not gonna happen. This stuff is never going to taste like the real thing, but that’s good! Be proud that you are making your own sauces with unique taste. I love them and I’m not vegan, nor vegetarian.

  • you can make this with cauliflour rather than potatos and carrots. I would also add 1 1/2 tsp white miso and reduce / remove the salt.

  • so true when ppl say “THE BEST…”on youtube is so overrated….they admit the recipe they named the best ever they have never tried!! NO THANKS…I will choose a tried and tested recipe…sorry i clicked…who cares if they admit later that it sucked…. they named it the best! TRUST is hard to build on youtube…I suggest NOT losing your viewers trust just to get views.

  • Wow. I just got done makin’ it (for the first time) and its nothing short of awesome! Last night I was driving around (like a chicken with it’s head cut off) in -60 degree temperatures (with the wind chill and speed) trying to gather all of the ingredients. I’m in the midwestern states, but it sure was worth it. Plus, my boss allowed us stay home (today) because of the record breaking temperatures. Great comfort food—that isn’t calorie laden. Thanks much.

  • Made this tonight and was sooooo happy to have some comfort food without friggin cashews! It was delicious and I am grateful you posted it. I compared with some other recipes and decided on this one because you included more ingredients that I am accustomed to seeing with the traditional homestyle mac and cheese (like the mustard and paprika). Nice job!:) I’m subbing!

  • I added about 1/3 cup cashew butter to make it more hearty and creamy and some broccoli…it was unbelievably delicious. In most vegan Mac and cheese recipes they have like 1/4 cup of nooch lol. I was rlly surprised that the recipe called for so much, but after trying it I’m never going back.

  • To make this nut free and also tastier imo (or just cheaper bc cashews are mega expensive) replace them with 2 tbsp of tahini! Make sure you use a good brand, I like the sunita one which I got off amazon, a lot of the time they’re really bitter. Also I would add lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to taste.
Both of these combined really add to the cheesy flavour, it’s yummyyy.

  • I don’t know what I did wrong…I followed the video and recipe to a T, and it was just weird. I think the nutritional yeast over killed my dish. Idfk what happened. I’m so sad!

  • Lol! I made a mac&cheese for my husband and he said the same as Kyleand after he tossed mustard and hot sauce in it, and YOU JUST DID THE SAME I will try this recipie, fingers crossed

  • Made this as I haven’t had a mac and cheese for a long as time and it is surprisingly good. It is pretty creamy and has a cheesy taste, will definitely make again.

  • Already vegetarian and trying to work my way into veganism. I made this and even my dairy cheese-loving husband loved this!! Score!

I made a huge batch and plan to put it on everything.

  • I used sweet potatoes and added some white miso paste and cashews.
It’s SO DELICIOUS! Definitely will be making this again! Thanks!

  • I tried this recipe and idk I’m just not a fan. Maybe it’s my nooch I used the one from Trader Joe’s but I wanna like it so bad bc maddie seems to love it. Any suggestions?

  • love love love your channel.  I’m in the middle of a Daniel fast and well your recipes have been awesome! God bless and thank you.

  • My perfectionism is “the best life for human beings is one that goes maximally well for the person who leads it” and a political one: “one should favour political institutions and state policies that do the best job at promoting the good in the context in which they apply”. Perfectionism is therefore about doing the best job at whatever’s good in life. That mac and cheese is good and very much the best, but to prevent sickness I’m going glutenand oil-free. I found whatever was good, it’s the best and it’s good enough, and I’m good enough, I found my highest perfection.

  • Hi Maddie and Kyle, made the “mac and cheese” tonight! got to admit, this was really good! been vegan for almost a year and have been missing the comfort food! this has a great cheesy taste and the siracha gives it the kick it needs. i added some red pepper flakes and brocolli! keep making the GREAT videos. thanks

  • This is WOW! I like this recipe more than these with cashews. Adding mustard (I’ve used dijon one) is really great idea and makes cheese flavour even stronger. 😉 Great job!

  • Looks delicious. I live in Oslo and recently had a job interview and mentioned your channel to the panel. It must have worked as I got the job, from next month I will be working for the EAT Forum to make the world healthier and food production to be more sustainable.

  • Dude… that looks sooooo good and I’m not even vegan… the thing about not being vegan when you try this stuff is that you an imagine it to taste identical to the real thing, because it’s NOT!!! And this looks soooo bomb! I would love to try that!

  • The awkwardness mixed with the monotone voice and corny dad humor is great! And I will definitely be trying this recipe because Mac & Cheese is my favorite and since I went vegan I have stayed away from it. If I can eat it again it would make my life wonderful!!!

  • I watch vegan recipe videos because cheese is expensive in my country, and I thought this would be a good recipe on its own till I saw the comments, because no one can shut up about nutritional yeast because NUTRITIONAL YEAST IS ALSO EXPENSIVE IN MY COUNTRY. I just can’t find any recipes for vegan mac and cheese without nutritional yeast.
I’ll just wait for my relatives from America to buy me one block of Kraft Cheddar once a year to savour it.

  • My SUPER easy vegan mac and cheese. Ok it’s a misnomer because it doesn’t taste anything like cheese but it has the same moreish comfort feel. I usually make it with left over boiled pasta in the microwave. If you don’t have vegan butter try using oil + nutritional yeast for more flavour

Tale a mug of boiled pasta, add 1 tbsp of vegan butter, 1/2 tsp (ish) of garlic powder and salt and pepper. Microwave for 30 seconds then add a tiny squeeze of lemon juice. It’s so yummm.

  • I just came across this video. I’m glad I stumbled across it. Half my family is vegan. I have got to surprise them with this! Thanks!

  • OMG I’m definitely gonna have to try this. I found a recipe that I was gonna try Sunday & I still may since I bought all the ingredients but I will try this one as well. I made your cheeses sauce you used for nachos for my crunch wraps and I was shocked at how good it was because I’m new to the non dairy cheese. You’re a keeper! Thank you!

  • In your video you grated some parmesan cheese, but you didn’t link the brand. Can you link the brand and the shredded cheese brand you used? Thanks!

  • Ok WHAT! How did I JUST discover your channel while searching for nut free mac n cheese! Yay to another awesome healthy vegan youtube channel! Trying this recipe now! Subscribed!!

  • We just recently purchased your cookbook and all the recipes we made so far turned out AMAZING! So I can’t wait to try this one as well xx

  • If you don’t mind can you start giving us the brand names of the products you are using. It will help in making informed decisions when shopping for ingredients. You wouldn’t be endorsing any products. Thanks. By the way you are the funniest narrator. Lawd help me!!!!

  • Me: feeling a bit nostalgic for old dodie videos and stumbles across this

The comments: a war of angry people and a side of the internet I do not want

  • Eyes, cheekbones, lips, teeth, voice (that voice tho), arms and fingers. Garnished with killer beard.

Only the finest ingredients for your hungry viewers.

  • Could taste nice but the onion is overbearing even after adding loads of nutritional yeast

Would advise everyone to only add half/quarter of an onion max

    Otherwise all good!

  • THIS IS SOO GREATT!! I dont have nutriention yeast and i am not vegan, I would prefer add small amout of cheese to taste! but this is really great alternative from cream and cheese! much healthier

  • I tried this recipe and it tasted absolutely disgusting! I couldn’t even finish my plate, so I had to throw it away. I think that’s because a whole onion wedge is waay too much. Please don’t try this at home, you’ll definitely regret it.

  • I just made this tonight and I liked it. I know for the most part pasta always is best the next day after marinating. So if it’s good today it will be darn good the next day!! I can not wait to try it tomorrow.

  • I made this for dinner tonight and I give it a Cit was kinda bland… I added nutritional yeast, sriracha, more salt and spoonful of marimite, it was still a little disappointing.

  • I tried this recipe years ago and it has a backtaste of chicken soup. I found that really weird with the startch of the potato. The recipe could be improve more with nooch and lemon.

  • I added truffle salt and a quarter cup of nutritional yeast to this, then put it in a baking dish and topped it with cheddar and mozzarella Gaia vegan cheese and baked it. Absolutely delicious!

All the other recipes I looked at required a boatload of processed vegan cheese, so I was shocked that the sauce could turn out so cheesy with only all whole, natural foods. THANK YOU for this!

  • This was so bland, and I thought maybe because I used wholewheat pasta, but no I discovered nutritional yeast and its nutty cheesiness! I’d used at least 4 heaped tablespoons for the portion in the vid

  • It’s so annoying that nearly EVERYONE here in comments complains about nutritional yeast. We have already understood that you love it, so please let people without access to this thing enjoy the affordable recipe. And cashews can give a cheesy flavor too, yes! Even if not that strong as yeasts, but still.

  • I tried this recipe and my sauce doesnt look like that mine is more white alot more chunky and not cheesy tasting and i added a shit ton of nutritional yeast

  • I tried this recipe, it looks good and cheesey but it tastes absolutely disgusting. Disclaimer plz don’t try this at home or you’ll regret it like me.

  • If you cba to make this, try my version it’s vv easy, it doesn’t really taste like cheese but it has the same moreish delicious comfort food taste so good.

Fill a mug with leftover cooked pasta and add a knob of vegan margarine/butter, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, plenty of salt and pepper, and a squeeze of lemon, then microwave for a minute. Mmmmm

  • I love BuzzFeed don’t get me wrong, but you could just use soy cheese. I’m not even vegan, but I think I know that it probably tastes better then “cheese” made of vegetables…soy cheese actually tastes similar to real cheese.

  • I’m not vegan, nevertheless what’s with the lemon juice and nutritional yeast??? Somenody explain my sister is unavailable at the moment so I cant ask her.

  • Okay! I will try this one, hopefully it’ll taste better than the last one I did. The last one I did didn’t say to boil the onion and the paste was not soft

  • more like the WORST vegan mac n cheese….. made me wanna vom, tasted nothing like cheese dude. Terrible mash potato texture with the noodles, horrible feeling!

  • Why are vegans aloud to call things cheese when it’s not cheese. Do meat eaters call their meat nut burgers? No they don’t. Call it what it is or just eat the actual cheese

  • Add some nutritional yeast and if you live outside of the states where it is difficult to find powdered onion and garlic use onion and garlic soup stock you are welcome
