  • Watching Link take a bite vs Rhett, is so frustrating and unsatisfying. He doesn’t bite the top of the bun!! He smashes his lips against the bun!!!

  • COULDN’T BELIEVE WHEN THEY SAID “POLENTA”. It’s a typical meal here in Brasil. My grandma always makes some for us, here at PIRACICABA!

  • Like the biggest question is who would even eat that Hilary’s burger, its almoust got nothing in it just mushed powder:D, could choke while eating two buns and that burger, kind of feel bad for people that like it and eat it frequently, messing up your bodies with that “piece of cardboard”..

  • Actually I had the beyond burger and I trully felt I was eating the real thing, which is bad because I have been vegetarian since 1994. I just didn’t eat it to be safe.

  • Personally as a vegetarian, the Beyond burger makes me gag and want to throw up. It seems so real that it makes me gag. Even when you cook it, it “bleeds” with beet juice. I think it’s disgusting and I refuse to eat it.

  • As a vegetarian I already knew the beyond burger was gonna win before I watched this video, it truly is the king of veggie burgers

  • Evert time I’ve had beyond burger, it has a weird flavor. I can’t stand it
Maybe it’s a regional thing? Idk cause the multiple times I’ve tried it, that weird flavor is just there.

  • BEST YOUTUBE VIDEO EVER!!! No veggie options AKA BURGERSSSSSS!!! Hardee’s so far to me has the best veggie beyond meat. They just got beyond sausage!!!!! Breakfast meat ❤️

  • I like the Beyond Burger, but my favorite is Quorn gourmet burger. It makes the best breakfast sandwich with a toasted English muffin…yum

  • I like the Beyond Burger, but my favorite is Quorn gourmet burger. It makes the best breakfast sandwich with a toasted English muffin…yum

  • You guys are hilarious and adorable! Immediately subscribed and can’t wait to try these products and see what you come up with next. I couldn’t stop laughing and it was as real as real could get!

  • They should have added condiments to the veggie burgers, just like the majority of people would eat on a hamburger in order to make it a valid taste test/ comparison.

  • The beyond burger is okay the first time and you want it again. Then the second time it gets kind of weird but you force it down. The third time it’ll about make you throw up. It’s basically a mixture of cat food and cat litter. And it smells like ass.

  • I was gonna be mad if cow cheese made it further. Shouldn’t have even been in there. Either you do vegetarian or you do vegan, you don’t mince them in a taste test geared towards vegan.

  • I trusted your taste buds and got the beyond burger only to feel like I just ate a can of cat food! My house smelled like cat food for days! Is it just me or does the beyond burger taste and smell like cat food?

  • I tried Morningstar Farms Veggie Burgers a few years and was revolted, it smelled like POOP. I’m happy to see neither of your finalists are from Morningstar Farms.

  • One time I went to mc Donald’s with my friends and they said ‘ha you can’t have a burger because your vegetarian’ and that was the first time they found out that there was a thing called veggie burger.

  • First, I thought they were always faking a smile with those eyes, but that is actually how their normal look XD.(to be clear, I don’t judge ppl on their looks, it was just something I noticed, and thought they were faking, but they aren’t 😉

    On Topic:
Great channel, great burger guys! It’s good how you promote vegan stuff.

  • Right now the top comment here is a meat eater saying how they would be happy to try these and in their comments someone is saying how you eighter eat meat or don’t… That’s wrong. I eat meat. I like it. But half my family is vegetarian, so I do eat a lot of vegetarian and vegan food as well. I myself have sometimes commented about this and have gotten comments saying that I should just choose and bot eat both. Why not? They both taste good. I’m also happy to cook both vegetarian and meat foods. Of course ones I move to my own house I will go with the cheaper options (vegetarian food), but I still like meat and so if I get the chance I will eat it I do understand the reasons why people don’t eat meat. In my family it’s a combination of not liking the taste and wanting to be healthy/help the inviorment. I try to do that as well by only eating meat that comes from nearby and not eating shrim/clams and whatnot. Still, I seriously don’t think it’s good to tell someone to “Just choose one!” Because that is something that actually makes me want to eat vegetarian food less sience the only people who’ve ever said that to me have been vegans or vegetarians. Of course I know that not everyone thinks like that, but it’d be better if no one thought like that! It’s ok to want go try other foods as well even if you still like meat and plan on eating it.

  • Planning on going vegan any ideas for nice meals? Reply to me your favourite! Trying to convince my bf to try more vegan stuff too.

  • Chickpea and cauliflower is in the oven. Let’s see how it tastes. Update, the tumeric is a little strong, ketchup and mustard give it a good flavor.

  • These look really good! They’ve given me some ideas for food to bring to school! Two questions: do the ones with sweet potatoes taste like they have sweet potatoes in them? Can you freeze all of the burgers without the texture going funny?

  • For me it’s not about going vegan…it’s more about having a leaner diet with substantially less trans fats. I’m going to try all of these veggie burger recipes eventually.

  • will it be ok to put the mixture in the fridge? If so, how many days will this be good to stock up for? I’m thinking of putting it in the freezer and cook it whenever.

  • Your eliminating bloat.. you’ll fell a whole lot better and of course your not eating meat that came from a animal… great job on the video

  • I LOVE hamburgers, especially Five Guys AND Shake Shack….but I love veggie burgers too. My favorite one right now is J. Alexander’s veggie burger (I add-on avocado). My mouth is watering right now thinking about it.

  • They should do a new one of these There are much better brands out there than these! (Although I’m surprised about Hilary’s. Like someone else mentioned, if you go into it trying to compare it to a burger, it’s not going to even come close. But that’s not the point, it’s a totally different thing! Hilary’s are actually really tasty).

  • About burger King… Philip Williams, a vegan, decided to sue the chain for the fact that an option advertised as vegan is not actually vegan. As it turned out, Burger King’s buzzing announcements about the launch of the first beef-free vegetable sandwich disappointed consumers around the world. It turned out that the vegan burgers are fried on the same grill as the meat, blushing on the rendered beef fat.

  • The masala burger looks amazing. I want it so much. Too bad there are very few veggie burger options in my country. I’ll see if it’s something I can make myself though, and maybe use naan bread instead of burger buns:p

  • Being vegetarian is easy. People think it super healthy and expensive but I am the brokest most unhealthy college student in the world and I am a vegetarian. THERE IS SOOOO MUCH YOU CAN EAT

  • i think vegan people stupid:) why? because everything is Organism hhhhhh so i laugh when vegan say we dont eat meet but we eat Vegetables which is also Organism but in just a different shape:)

  • If you ever decide to go to McDonald’s again… order a cheeseburger but replace the patty with a hash brown. It’s a great experience

  • In N Out does have a vegan veggie burger but it’s just bun and veg and ketchup. I’d recommend the grilled cheese animal style because its bomb as fuckkk

  • Wait in Indio they have veggie burgers, wait shit I am the dumbest person that ever lived I just remembered it’s called a freaking PROTEIN BURGERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so dumb

  • PSA the Five Guys Veggie Sandwich isn’t actually veg. In the morning after they cook the bacon they cook the onions and mushrooms before they clean the grill (so they get cooked in bacon fat basically). If you want something veg, get the grilled cheese because they cook it on a separate grill that has been cleaned from a former Five Guys employee

  • I use ground oats as binding agent, include smoked paprika as ingredient and omit the cuscus crust. The consistency is way better, freezes great and it’s as tasty as the original recipe plus they don’t disintegrate in the process.

  • ☣️ coronavirus ☣️☣️☣️ YouTube google

  • That’s me to if my phone drop to use my GPS or use my back camera to record if anything happens to me when I drive or got pulled over too when I’m scared if my phone drops too

  • They over cooked those beyond burgers. They are even juicier than shown. When cooked like the packaging says. Which is pretty much med rare.

  • Tried this burger and love it! My sister came over and gave her one to take home, she called me back for the recipe!
So, do I think this veggie burger is good, of course, making my second batch today, my new go to burger. You two are adorable.

  • When will they ever learn, eggs, cheese and mayo are not veggies? If you have to dry out the ingredients, why put mayo back in it to make it moist?

  • This is ridiculous! Why make a veggie burger if you’re just going to pack it full of animal products?! Mayonnaise, eggs, and cheese? You’re not making something healthful and you’re sure as hell not actually preventing animal cruelty. Disgusting. Try a vegan burger next time!

  • unbelievably good. the texture is perfect. i actually get confused, thinking i am eating a hamburger. i shall share this with all my vegetarian friends. the roasting takes a little time but it is well worth it. i make a big batch, freeze the uncooked burgers. and with condiments and a really good bun, these are perfection. thank you for creating them.

  • I’m not vegetarian but I am a vagitarian I eat a lot of vagina but the thing is I made veggie burgers quite similar to what you did but instead of using beets and garbanzo I use carrots zucchini onions and jalapenos. And I use the mushrooms in the frying pan with nothing I don’t add oil to them I dry them out.

  • This vegan is the type of vegan that I respect , just being positive and do advice to cook a good meal.. unlike those activists who harasses farmers and truck drivers that just doing their job to feed their families.. Damn hate those

  • In all honesty, would you order from green chef? It’s exorbitantly expensive. You appear to have the skill set to go to the grocery store and pick up a few things and do this yourself. I see more and more vegan you tubers promoting companies like green chef, and I ask myself, why anyone who knows how to cook would spend hi or her hard earned money this way.

  • People don’t understand that your desire for meat goes away when you start eating barley n beans n carrots n broccoli. And sugar cravings go with it. They have no idea how good it can taste it how satisfying it is. They’ve never been through a calamity that forced them there. But that’s going to change real soon.

  • I’m a meat-eater and I would totally choose a veggie burger over a meat burger if I were given the choice. The veggie burger from Burger King is sooo good.

  • How would gou go about grilling this on a bbq? Should I cook them in the oven first/fry them. I would love to be able to eat meat free burgers at a BBQ. Thanks!!

  • So… Just made these and well, somewhere along the line something went wrong and they just became mushy balls of mush. Delicious mush but it no way resembling a burger. I am eating them anyway. Still taste good.

  • Would like to make these for my son who is on a low protein diet. What can I use instead of beans? Will also have to leave couscous out.

  • I made these burgers the other day. Literally the best vegan burger I ever had. Even my non-vegan husband was incredibly impressed. It was so good.

  • Thanks for the video! I made the burgers and they turn out great! I added to your fantastic recipe some mushroom powder and some onion powder.

  • What can you use instead of liquid smoke? Perhaps some BBQ sauce? In South Africa we don’t have such a product and it would be awfully expensive to ship in

  • Looks wise, it looks good but nutrition wise, not so hot. A real meat hamburger is far better quality and digestible nutrition. And takes much less time to prepare.

  • I am happy too! Jajajajajaja (villan deep voice) thanks for the recipe. I saw the planta’s burguer a long time ago, anda i did it calculating just like you, it was goooood! I will trie your version definetly…

  • I’ve been following your videos with amaze to see what you come up with next, even tough I am not a vegan and to be honest most likely not try the things you make.
But my question is why to mimic/recreate things that vegans “hate” eating. (perhaps to draw more meat eaters to change their diet)
But why not also create something new with your talent and knowledge. Something unknown.. That we just gotta try.

  • I went to A&W I was going to try a plant-based Burger. So I asked the waitress how many calories in one of those burgers she said the same as in a regular burger because of the sauce. Plant-based burgers are not healthy. A lot of chemicals are used in making those plant-based burgers if people only knew how unhealthy they were they would stop eating them and eat real food.

  • My vitamix couldn’t deal with this..so frusturating..and my small food processor wasn’t much better…finally when finished it came out nicely though!

  • No wonder only three were left at the trader Joe’s in my area of McKinney. I grabbed one.
Also, does anyone else judge a product based on the supply In the store, when deciding to purchase or not? Too many left-goodbye!

  • Can you do a tempeh video? When I used to live in Los Angeles a local vendor used to sell it along other korean fermented delicacies he made. Somehow the tempeh was really smooth, almost like a delicate seitan..never seen anything like elsewhere…and not a huge fan of grainy tempeh.

  • Funny, I watched that David Lee video and made my own version, it was awesome!
I am a fan of homemade veggie burgers. I love your videos, I have gotten some very helpful tips from your experimentation with methyl cellulose and other kitchen chemistry items.

  • They should have mentioned which ones are vegan and which are vegetarian. The Trader Joe’s Masala Burger is vegan and says so on the box. It is awesome! Try it with Imagine brand Potato Leek soup. You will thank me. I dip it.

  • Dude, you have no idea how hard I would smash that burger. If someone said eat this burger or avoid jail for 5 years, I would…. well I would avoid jail, are you serious? What kind of stakes are they? But thats still damn good burger

  • If you would season your meat patty then its the same for veggies. Always seasons your food!! Every veggie patty i made has been dripping in sauces and has had meat lovers begging for more.

  • Oh my god, if you’re Canadian then you know or should know, that The Works have the best goddamn veggie burgers ever. I will forever thank my friend for taking me there.

  • What are the measurements to make the veggie burger!! This looks amazing!!! I tried to make my own ground with TVP and some rice and spices. It didn’t work I wanted a ground for taco meat! Please help!!

  • the trader joes masala burgers are so good, especially with some sharp cheddar and some mustard. The english muffins there are also the exact same size as the burgers, so they’re actually the perfect buns. lol. they’re pretty good with an egg on top too if you want a good breakfast sandwich at home!

  • I was vegetarian for three years and I’ve been vegan for 6 months and real talk, I live 99% off of Boca burgers and the morning star sausage crumble MMMMMMMHMMM

  • used to work at Belcampo Meat Co, their veggie burger was so good that even as a total carnivore in a place with excellent beef burgers, I would eat it a lot. plus the standard one came with avocado, which is always a nice touch

  • Trader Joe’s Masala burgers are so damn good. I have two left in the freezer right now, and If I weren’t already so full, I would destroy them The other burger patty, technically a chicken patty, is Boca’s Spicy Chick’n. Those things are like crack. For those who like burgers where you can see the vegetables, the Dr. Praeger’s brand is pretty good, but can have a tendency to fall apart. They seem really healthy though.

  • Ok but they try to mimic beef burgers so people can go vegan or vegetarian and not miss beef burgers…. some can be really convincing, you guys just didn’t get those kinds:/

  • Haha! Dog food taste! Exactly on point for many veggie burgers!!!! Lol
I’m not vegetarian 100%. I’ll eat a real beef or buffalo burger if it’s quality.
I want to try creating my own veggie burger at home with ingredients I like. Otherwise, I love a great Felafel! The best original veggie burger ever.

  • When i saw morning star i was like “WHAT!? I LOVE THOSE VEGGIE BURGERS!” I’m a vegetarian and that’s pretty much my favorite brand of veggie burgers LOL, this video made me so hungry XD

  • WHAT ABOUT GARDEIN! I love that brand! They have such good veggie burgers, fake chicken, and more. It’s just one of the best brands of fake meat out there!

  • Has anyone tried these recipes? Could they give a review on which is best. Trying to decide which one to make. Rather know what ingredients to buy

  • Even before I watched the video, I know the TJ’s Masala Burger Patty is going to be the best one. That patty is the BOMB!!! You guys gotta try it, if you haven’t yet.

  • Beyond burger and Impossible burger. End of discussion. As a vegan I can tell you to ignore everything you see in this video. (waaayyyy out of date) All the products shown here are terrible compared to the two above. Buy Beyond burgers, they taste like beef. Go to restaurant which features Impossible burger, they taste like beef. (Impossible is the winner of the two imo but they are close and both TASTE LIKE BEEF). Enjoy! and don’t be cruel.

  • I had Beast Burger sliders today, and dog food is the perfect description. And, they’re from Austin, so, that’s where the arrogance comes from.

  • The thing about veggie burgers is that they’ll be a let down if you expect them to taste like meat. I happen to love black bean burgers though.

  • I hate how these are all filled with vegetables!! The ones that imitate meat are what most people go for and they are the best by far!

  • Morning start black bean burgers is the best veggie burger ever the best “trying to be a burger veggie burger” is the beyond meat burger it bleeds and everything

  • I love Trader Joe’s sweet chili burger the most. It’s from the same range as the Masala burger from the video, which is also very good.

  • These vegan burgers are full of estrogen. The impossible burger contains 44mg of estrogen. The dosage for a male to transition to a female is.05 mg of estrogen per day. If you eat these, don’t eat them frequently.

  • I’ve been vegan my whole life and the only “meat” that I’ve had is a chicken nugget from McDonald’s and I thought I was gonna throw up bc I didn’t know what my body would do lol

  • The Burger …& Johnny was like..Yoooo, Can I eat my darn burger…I love how everyone shares the food..That’s brother hood indeed

  • There are 2 sweet potatoes in the recipe, but I see you only used one in the video. We made it last night with 2 and it was a total disaster:D

  • You guys are fantastic and Iit looks so easy cooking and the sharing and eating looks so good do more vigan recipes and I love watching making them to enjoy eating thanks

  • I’ve been vegetarian for 26 years, the vegetable ones are defo much better than the ‘fake meat’ ones IMO but then i find the lack of anything that resembles meat reassuring, i didn’t really like meat even before i turned veggie so anything too close in taste or texture to real meat i don’t really like, not because it reminds me of flesh, just because i don’t like that taste or texture

  • Need to teach you a pita bread trick, because those look SAD! When you take them out of the pack, you run each quickly under a faucet of running water, so it gets wet all over. Then you can use the toaster to give it a quick bake (or the oven, of course). I set my toaster to 4, that makes it raise and blow up, but don’t bake it too much, so it goes dry. Cut each open at the top and fill with whatever. My favorite is my own hamburger recipe (with gluten, soy grounds, spinach, Brussel sprouts etc etc looks and feels like an extra yum meat burger, I think!), topped with seitan bakun OMG! Burger season is beginning now for me! Summer food! Never was big on burgers when I ate meat, but now I love, love, loooooove it! Love your videos!!! ☺️❣️✅

  • Guys I just wanted to thank you for sharing your vegan ideas and recipes. I was just diagnosed with high blood pressure and on Tuesday my blood pressure was very high (I think the hospital read was off but either way I know it was high). It was a kick in my butt being thirty and watching all these old folks who are close to or are recovering from a heart attack. I don’t want to become them.

So my wife and I are making the choice to have a mostly veggie life style. My kids are picky eaters (one of them don’t even like hamburgers!!) so for now when we have them we might still eat some meat. And I am going to eat fish because the doctor says Salmon is good with Omega 3 day which is good for your heart.

But these videos I’m watching on your channel is going to help us eat better and feel better.

  • I’m from the United States, and I LOVE your Channel, your recipes, your enthusiasm, your quick recipes and your positive and fun attitude! You make Vegan cooking seem so simple and as a new vegan I NEED this! Thank You!

  • I’m definitely going to try this burger. Googled Chef Lee and found his recipe. https://veganrecipehub.com/hearty-secret-toronto-planta-burgers/

  • Made it myself and wow it’s good! Served it on a toasted salt and pepper bun with a mango and chili chutney and some wasabi rocket with some potatas bravas on the side, great recipe!

  • Didn’t work out so well. Wish I’d looked at video before following the recipe on the website. The website version includes all the cous cous in the mix and coats the burgers in breadcrumbs. Very wet mush is the result for me. All the other stuff I’ve tried has worked out.

  • I have an extreme aversion to sweet potatoes. I try to tell myself how healthy and versatile they are, but myself does not care.: ( Does the sweet potato taste come through much?

  • Looks delicious! But what’s with you all always biting off of the same piece of food? Maybe the key to the ultimate veggie burger is 4 different guys’ saliva. 😉

  • Speaking of using Quinoa, just watched a video from America’s Test Kitchen where they say to always rinse the quinoa before cooking to remove the bitter taste (about one minute); even if the package says pre-rinsed.

  • For us oldie non-metric types in North America, can you please also provide the Imperial measurements and oven temps, etc? Thanks! Love how you make eating plant-based quick and easy!

  • hillarious, you guys rock! such a joy to watch you (and of course to cook the food as well):) thanks to you I no longer think vegans are lame.. actually, I´m one of the fam now.

  • This is a great idea. I never thought about roasting the veggies. I don’t eat animal products but I have enough good sense to know lovey ways to bind the ingredients and add flavor and moisture. Thanks for your recipe! Psyllium with leavening makes a great egg replacement. And nutritional yeast, miso, tamari, ACV are all great umami substitutes for cheese type flavors.

  • Hi guys, I love your videos. A question. Can I put them in the freezer to use it a couple of weeks after?
Thanks a lot, and greeting from Spain ^.^

  • Simply gargeous!! I am going to do the couscous crumb for burgers and more! Thanks for the totally unique and yummy idea guys! Just peachy, or peary:P really really bad joke sorry…

  • Yo dudes!
I just made this and it turned out super mushy, impossible to make a burger with that:( It seems like I am not the only one with that problem..
    You guys have a fix?

  • I really shouldn’t have seen this video today, because I’m fasting and I’m super hungry and I’m going to make this for dinner

  • Muy mala la receta. La masa de las hamburguesas queda demasiado líquida como para formar las hamburguesas y para rematar el sabor no es lo esperado. No la recomiendo.

  • i just made these burgers and they were really good!! they were a bit soft but i just added a bit of flour and they turned out amazing:)

  • My one turned out so softcould not fry rather burnt and cannot flip it over so I’ve tried to bake in the oven, still soft but at least I can put in the bun and eat it;I added some smoked paprika too,I’ve seen someone added some oat flour but I did not want too, wanted to follow the original recipe. What did I do wrong?

  • This looks so yummy! Just one question. is this a soft or firm burger? All the veggie burger recipes I’ve tried so far have been kind of mushy so I’m looking for one that’s not. If this one isn’t a firm one do you have any recipes that are?Or tips on how to change the texture. Thanks!

  • Ok if you don’t like eating meat that’s fine, but why the hell do vegetarians want to eat something that visually resembles meat??? Veggie burgers veggie sausages etc etc etc representing foods that are made of meat, if you hate meat that much why would you want to eat something that resembles a meat product??? • Any chance the sweet potatoes can be substituted? or can you not really taste it in the burger? I just can’t get used to the taste of sweet potatoes

  • I just found out about Emma and she grew up with a cat.. i did to. She has 2 cats I have to. She was vegetarian her whole life……I AM TO. I’m just scared how similar those facts are AND MANY other things I have in common

  • Tried to make these, as I am still looking for the perfect veggie burger. Unfortunately it didn’t work out, super mushy. Still filled it in my pita bread and it was yummy….but not a burger:(

  • Has anyone tried this and froze it (into already formed patties or crumbles)
To freeze well should i cook it first? (either into patties or crumbles)

  • The part where they all took a bite out of the same burger reminded me of a bunch of wild dudes passing a phat blunt around. Nice.
