For those wanting a less restrictive approach, here are three easy tips to reduce sugar cravings for good. 1. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Dehydration often masks itself as hunger — particularly in the form of sugar cravings. Here are 11 more useful tips to stop sugar cravings: Drink a glass of water.

Some people say that dehydration can cause cravings. “Research has shown that chewing gum can reduce food cravings,” Grotto says. Reach for fruit. Keep fruit handy for when sugar cravings hit.

You’ll get fiber and nutrients along with some sweetness. Artificial sweeteners don’t satisfy a sugar craving. The answer is to reset your taste buds for less sugar.

According to research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, you can do. For those wanting a less restrictive approach, here are three easy tips to reduce sugar cravings for good. 1. Drink Plenty of Water Dehydration often masks itself as hunger particularly in the form of sugar cravings.

One way to lower your blood sugar is to follow a low sugar diet and reducing the amount of carbohydrates in your food. Ideally, you wouldn’t consume any added sugar at all. Stick with the fructose that comes in fruit, and only eat a small amount. Here are 11 simple ways to prevent or stop unhealthy food and sugar cravings. 1. Drink Water.

Thirst is often confused with hunger or food cravings. If. Proteins are made up of amino acids, which are vital for balancing hormones and avoiding sugar cravings. Healthy fats from whole foods like avocado help fuel the body, while increasing satiety to ward off immature feelings of hunger. Over the long-term, eating healthy fats and proteins (along with lots of veggies) can help with sugar cravings.

Here are some tips to help you reduce your sugar intake: Instead of adding sugar to sweeten oatmeal or cereal, top your bowl with your favorite fruit. Opt for low-calorie or sugar-free drinks instead of sugar-sweetened beverages. Better yet, drink water (plain or sparkling). Give Up Sugar for 3 Days. After three days of being off sweets, your headaches and fatigue will lift and you’ll have less intense needs for a sugar fix.

Then we can really begin the work of retraining the taste buds, to enjoy food with a lower level of sugar intensity and in normal amounts. What You Should Get Rid Of.

  • It’s nearly impossible to cut this out.. it’s in literally everything, even things that it wouldn’t normally make sense for it to be in when cooking a homemade version at home.. but the store bought versions always have a bunch of extra crap in them.

  • A good diet is for me Is a salad, romaine lettuce with carrots and grilled or roasted chicken, lots of blueberries, strawberries, apples and pears! I only drink water. Combined with good cardio of 30 minutes am

  • I support everyone in this stop the Sugar forever it is really hard for me now i am almost 1 week without! Sugar is not just poison is addiction and it is like a all worst drugs in the world, by my opinion is just a legal one so people are weak and to be controlled.

  • I was a sugar addict for over 30 years. I cut out foods that cause inflammation and did a month candida/parasite detox and now I’m not interested in sugar at all. Lost over 35 pounds in two months without exercise.

  • It is not that easy. I make a decision then in a weak moment eat the wrong thing from the long list of off limits foods. Not just sugar but flour msg hydrogenated fats pre packaged foods artificial sweeteners and the list goes on. Sugar is 8 times more addicting than cocaine and I am just going to make a decision and just stick with it? I am not a super hero!

  • Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about “what vitamin deficiency causes sugar cravings?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried Anebriel Foundational Ascendancy (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to reverse type 2 diabetes minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.

  • I quit sugar and my blood pressure got normal, We had to stop high blood pressure med. My cholesterol and triglycerides went from high to normal also. Sex was better. Then I relapsed and slowly got on hooked on sugar again and back on high blood pressure med.

  • Come on people, this girl has no idea what she is talking about.. she has no degree in this field. Follow and actual expert. There are people on YouTube who have master degrees in nutrition and fitness.

  • Outstanding video! I can tell you that if you don’t think you are addicted to sugar, quit cold turkey for a week. The withdrawals are severe. But they don’t last. Also a person has way more energy without caffeine and sugar. It seems counterintuitive but coffee and sugar stimulate dopamine which makes someone tired, relaxed, dull, disinterested and unmotivated. When I used to drink coffee and eat sugar, my energy was always low, and it could spike up, but that was followed by a crash. Without coffee and sugar, my energy is at a good stable 7-8 all day, and I fall right to sleep. I used to be groggy in the midday around lunch, but not anymore.

  • Also, please please PLEASE stop using poisonous industrial cooking oils! That stuff is toxic. Cook in butter, olive oil (expellar pressed) and rendered fat such as ghee, tallow, duck fat and bacon grease

  • I live with a retiree that drinks 5 coffees a day which has 3 teaspoons of sugar in each coffee. His also adds 6 tablespoons of sugar to his bowl of coco pops. His drinks are cordial. Needless to say that he has Diabetes2 and no sense of taste.

  • Cinnamon is a sweet spice that can stop your sugar cravings when nothing else can. It tricks your body into thinking that it has had sugar but, it hasn’t. Cinnamon also helps control your blood glucose levels. Cinnamon is also anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and antifungal herb which cleans out the bad bugs that leaves the good ones.

  • I can’t start eating healthy without quitting sugar first. I found two ways that only works: frozen peanut butter banana bites (natural peanut butter) and second is plain yogurt with fresh (or frozen) fruits (no sugar added at all). Either one of them, it takes me a week to curb sugar, then I can go without any snacks or treats. It works for me. I tried fruits alone to satisfy but it wasn’t enough. It makes sense that you need to add protein to assist.

  • I was totally convinced until he said eat animal based protein. HAHAHA MATE! If you eat dead stuff you will eventually die from it! Don’t listen to him people. I don’t care if people want to eat dead body parts of animals but if you want to be healthy EAT ONLY FOOD THAT IS ALIVE! Raw food, fermented food and lots and lots of fructose.

  • how am I going to stop eating suger and drinking suger if my family kept buying something suger is not good for everyone it causes heath issues like headache, brain damge, or eating ice cream that is bad for everyone in this world.i know I quit eating and drinking suger. fruit and veggies is good heathey choices for everyone in this whole entire world.i got 12 days to drink lots of water. water is best for everybody. go water.i quit suger for a whole year and a whole of my life. my life has been changed. ohio we are in this together.

  • This video is dope, I didn’t have to watch until the end and have to end up purchasing the answer like a book or something. Nice video!

  • Thank you for all the wonderful information and tips. Do you have a video or research on what sugar does to the body besides add fat? So much of the information I have found does not explain much about why sugar is so bad. I believe it. I’m just looking for research-based information to share with my husband.

  • “Quit… MSG which makes you crave more” Do you have a citation for this claim? There’s a lot of hype over the harms of MSG (possibly because we use a scientific instead of a common name), but every study I’ve read indicates no harm

  • Great informative video, but the one thing I noticed is that you refer to Stevia as an “artificial sweetener” in the video and in your description. The wonderful thing about stevia, is that it’s NATURAL and not artificial. It is a naturally-occurring sweet-tasting leaf that people have been using for hundreds of years. Artificial sweeteners are chemicals created in labs which have shown to have horrible effects on our bodies (adrenals, etc). Very distinct difference, worth noting!

  • Break sugar addiction in 10 days

    5. Eat non starchy veggies
    6. Eat good fats in every meal

    8. Quit gluten and dairy for 10 days
    9. Sleep

  • my doctor told me to eat very little or no fruits at all. I said that was unrealistic, and he replied “……okay, you can have tomatoes.” I was floored.

  • beans having that effect on you (as vegetables bloating you) is simply bc ur not designed to eat that way! the indigestible fibers and antinutrients, specially present in seeds (cereals, legumes) are terrible for the human body. bloating is ur body telling you: stop this!!! why dont u just go for the foods that never bloat you? i used to have that problem… realized the bloating is just excess carbs, we are not supposed to have that many! i was vegan and bloated all the time… NOT WORTH IT! the most important animal is yourself! i really wish you find a way to stop bloating, i did, and my life has changed so much, i thought being bloated was my natural state, it is not!!! it is bc we have oats, bread, noodles, vegetables, in ALL meals! now i literally can have a workout after a meal.. cause i dont even feel it in my stomach

  • 1. Make the decision to quit.
    2. Quit cold Turkey sugar flour and processed food

    4. Add protein to every meal
    5. Eat non starchy vegetables
    6. Eat good fats
    7. Manage your stress

    9. Get enough sleep

  • I’ve tried to give up surgar but I ended giving into later. Tomorrow I’m going to try to give up surgar again. It’s kinda like when I eat sweets it’s comforting to me.

  • I don’t crave sugar anymore, I crave gluten so bad! Has been over a year, and I know gluten=sugar, my job has being being vegan, sugar, gluten, dairy and legume free, that gives me a lot of anxiety, it’s really hard to figure out what I can eat, in my case I had no choice, I have Lyme disease and your channel has helped a lot! You look amazing!

  • I really need u help please, I need to loose weight about 20 pounds, but rhe problem is the I have thyroid, so please let me know what’s the best way to do it, I will appreciate your help, thank u so much

  • Hello, I have been following your advice for three weeks now. I have had some ups and downs. Right now I am at a point where I don’t get hungry anymore. Is that okay?

  • The reason why i need to watch my health as I’m approaching the adult age, 18 is because of the illness i have that commonly happens to women, PCOS. This is a good and insightful information. Thanks ❤️

  • Sugar is really in everything and my body loves to consume certain carbs into mass. I tried fasting and it never worked, I cheated wildly. Eating several micromeals works for me.

  • I have a major sweet tooth, and something that helps me whenever I start wanting something sweet (other than fruit) is Werther’s Hard Caramels. I just pop one whenever my sweets craving gets really bad. It’s only about 23 calories per candy, and it’s pretty satisfying.

  • Everything you said was right from my experience and I realize all this. But it’s so hard to keep it up, I will do great for a few weeks or even a month, then I’m back to eating badly. I even eat good foods and then the bad things too! I love all food!!

  • A good diet is for me Is a salad, romaine lettuce with carrots and grilled or roasted chicken, lots of blueberries, strawberries, apples and pears! I only drink water. Combined with good cardio of 30 minutes am

  • 7. Remove Temptations
im only a child and i can’t just go into my kitchen and throw away all our sugary foods or my mom would kill me. when i ask her to stop buying things like them, she blames it on me or gets angry. i have almost no self-control when it comes to sugary foods, esp when they’re right in front of me. i notice that sugar makes me feel absolutely horrible tho, so i would like to cut it out of my diet, but it’s really difficult when i can’t make the buying decisions in my home.

  • Hello, I love your videos! They are thoroughly informative. I’m trying to cut off added sugar from my diet, but it’s been extremely hard to find foods without any added sugarfor example, pasta, spaghetti, or chocolate powders have added sugar. Are they healthy to eat? If I had to substitute sugar in baking, can I use honey? If even honey is bad, what should I use?:( Thanks!

  • Processed food is a killer. Yes, food in its natural form is healthy for you. If you read the label and can’t pronounce it do not eat it.

  • Gidday from Australia, very informative video great tips. I get carb cravings because Im menopausal, sourdough bread is my weakness:-)

  • But what do you do after day 10? Never eat sugar again, or just eat less of it? I want to break my addiction but I’m worried that I will just go back to my old ways after day 10.

  • Reducing your sugar intake overtime reduces your sugar cravings as well. I stopped eating foods and drink with so much added sugar since March. It was hard at first because my daily diet used to be full of processed foods with added sugar and sometimes I would give into cravings which is understandable. Now my taste buds kinda despise sugar lol. I just made some oatmeal carrot cupcakes and I only added a little bit of honey in it for a lil sweetness and when I say little I mean only two tablespoons per batch of the cupcakes. My sister had frosting in the fridge and I put a thin layer on mybcupcake and said lemme try it and I had to scrape it off because it was too sweet! And if I was my old self I would have ended up adding more because my taste buds were so used to sugar. Reducing your added sugar intake overtime will help you to live healthier and help keep off some pounds as well!

  • I had an easier time quitting Smoking/Heavy nicotine addiction than quitting sugar. It is so hard, I pray and ask God to give me the strength it requires to defeat this demon. I still havent found it, wish me luck yall

  • My body stopped itselfuh
Well, one day I was eating a lot of sugarand I got a stomachacheand now when I eat sugar, I get a stomachacheso nice?

  • Thank you so very much, I M a diabetic, My blood sugar has been stable for a couple of years. Lately I have indulged in sweets a bit much, and now my blood sugar is dropping. Fast out of nowhere, and now my craving for sugar is is simple driving me crazy. I am certainly going to try some of your food suggestions. Thanks again.

  • Please can you help with some recipes that is good for eating before exercise and after exercising especially in the mornings thanks

  • The reason why i need to watch my health as I’m approaching the adult age, 18 is because of the illness i have that commonly happens to women, PCOS. This is a good and insightful information. Thanks ❤️

  • I’m a sugar addict but I have to stop because it’s causing weight gain and bloating migraines ect it’s really hard but not buying it having it in helps

  • I tried this… i had very bad headaches at day 4 and could barely walk at day 7
I stopped it and ate some dates and ate some rice with dinner

  • The thing I was thinking about lately is dried fruits. I should have basically everything normal fruits have except water. Being more condensed makes it easier to overconsume them though.

  • Such an informative short and sweet concise video! Thank YOU so much for sharing. I have learned a lot. And, it was really peaceful to watch and stressful because we all know how it feels when someone tells you to cut down on this and thati.

  • Love this!! Thank you for addressing this. I don’t like artificial sweeteners, the aspartame gives me a headache. I don’t even like stevia it taste like aspartame too me, has an after taste. I agree we need to just enjoy the natural taste of food instead of adding sugar or stevia etc… Once you do that you get use to it and enjoy your food more. I love that you are addressing this as I am about to go a No Sugar Challenge. I try to eat clean but I recently have been eating too much sugar, I.E. Frosted Coffee from Chickfila. Time to cut out that habit.

  • When you said ” confuses your brain aswell as you metabolic processes ” and put that clip of Tom Cruise looking confused had me deadass laughing

  • Honestly my body just prefers natural food over processed like I LOVE dried fruit over sweets because it’s JUST TASTES SOO MUCH BETTER in my opinion

  • My personal tips:
avoid buying sugary snaks ( choose diet soda also )
if you crave sweets, buy a small amount, don’t go crazy. quantity really makes a difference
choose dark chocolate it’s very satisfying
eat full fat, it helps keep the cravings away
try to avoid to many sweets in your home by not buying them in the first place
after a couple of months your taste buds desensitize and you will come to reject foods with too much sugar
There is something worse than sugar that we eat much more of: flour. I drastically cut everything with flour and lost 50 pounds

  • Table sugar’s chemical name is sucrose, which is a combination of glucose (blood sugar) and fructose (fruit sugar) molecules bound together. Starches are chains of sugar molecules bound together. Fruit is okay to eat in moderation, but starchy fruit (bananas) are more likely to drive up your blood sugar. Avoid juices as they are mostly the sugars without the fiber benefits. Berries are low in sugars and are better for diabetics to eat than most other fruit. Lactose (milk sugar not listed) is not very sweet and many adults no longer have the enzymes to digest it, although your gut bacteria can… and create gas. Many various sugars and sugar alcohols are on the list in the comments. High fructose corn syrup (and fruit juices mostly fructose) are bad because fructose does not activate the satisfaction hormone, so you eat more. Also fructose is enzymatically handled by your body the same way that alcohol is, and is harder on your liver than sucrose or glucose. I could list a whole bunch more sugars, being a chemist, but 2/3rds of the list are various names for sucrose (table sugar) at various levels of refinement. I have used (in order of utility) mannitol, maltose, trehalose, sucrose, dextrose(glucose), fructose and a few other sugars in lyophilization (freeze drying) of pharmaceutical drug dosage forms during my career….. Mannitol being the most useful for freeze drying of drug containing liquids as it forms long thin needle crystals with lots of surface area within the dried cake that makes reconstitution of a drug vial in your doctor’s office much faster… generally under a minute.

  • Cutting way back on sugar so I replaced my beloved Jif peanut butter with sugar free. It was nasty at first and now it tastes normal and the normal about gags me it’s so sweet. It gets easier if you can just make it through the first week or two. I have much less pain in my body when I cut out sugar and simple carbs.

  • i went sugarless cold turkey. sugar being just as addictice as cocaine. i could not do it slowly. i joined a 12 step program to help me in this process. its been 7 years

  • I came across a blog like this while browsing the web site
https://diabetesfreedom1.blogspot.com/ I would appreciate it if you examine the
truth on the blogs like this.

  • The problem with me is that I’m a teen and I’m trying to break my addiction to sugar. The problem is that my mom buys so many sweets and I know she won’t stop buying them. It’s really hard when my cupboards are filled with chocolate chip cookies, twizzlers, and all these sweets! I know my mom won’t stop buying it. Any advice?

  • I’ve quite sex porn jacking off for 200 and something days still counting but this soda addiction is a lot more harder.. I’m quitting sugar and soda for the rest of the year as to rn wish me lucky

  • I totally do not agree with artificial sweeteners of any kind! You’re basically saying I’ll trade one poisonous bad habit for another. Also, since when did anyone ever say ‘stevia’ in its it’s natural plant state causes cancer??? I can go along with everything else said in the video.

  • So I wanted to write to you and let you know that your two sugar videos basically helped me kick sugar. I started with a raging sugar addiction that I have battled on and off my whole life. Don’t get me wrong, I have gone for long stretches being in control before but it seems like over the last two years it was completely out of control. I started with a 10 Day Detox and found that the benefits were absolutely undeniable. I watched your two videos every morning to stay on track. Now it’s actually been almost 30 days and my cravings have been greatly reduced. I start every day with a very even blood sugar level because I completely eliminated sugars in my coffees and creams, and if I’m really craving sugar I eat a piece of fruit or a bowl of berries and get all of the satisfaction and yumminess without the spikes and crashes. We live in Arizona and it’s summer. I find that frozen cherries and frozen blueberries raspberries and even bananas are yummier then any cookie or cake I could eat. And I eat way less of the item because it’s so full of fiber that my stomach start sending those “full” signals a lot quicker! I bought your course and I’m making my way through it now looking forward to losing weight since I have kicked this habit. Thank you for everything from Arizona!

  • I was able to reduce sugar in 6 mos, by replacing sweets for bitter, sour, natural whole foods. Instead of yogurt, I made my dessert from bananas, mango, I would put tofu & fruit in blender & freeze it for natural dessert. It took a while to get past withdrawals from sugar, but persistence paid off……………………# Holistichealthtalk.org

  • i quit sugar about 6 days ago, and i DEFINITELY had the headaches, the being mean, and general poo feeling. But as of today, much better. I’ve quit before and slowly went back, but one thing that really stuck was i stopped craving carbs, didn’t care for pasta or rice, could take or leave fries. Surprisingly that all has stuck for the first time. For me it was baked goods, but I’ve found ways around and I’ve stopped craving. Sugar alternatives in MODERATION and almond flour have been saviors in my book!

  • I’ve been avoiding sugar for a couple of months and it’s better this way. I can just feel that my health is improved even if just a little.

  • I’ve tried to give up surgar but I ended giving into later. Tomorrow I’m going to try to give up surgar again. It’s kinda like when I eat sweets it’s comforting to me.

  • God bless Dr. Abumere for his marvelous work in my life, I was diagnosed of HERPES since 2013 and I was taking my medications, I wasn’t satisfied i needed to get the HERPES out of my system, I searched about some possible cure for HERPES i saw a comment about Dr. Abumere, how he cured HERPES with his herbal medicine, I contacted him and he guided me. I asked for solutions, he started the remedy for my health, he sent me the medicine through UPS SPEED POST. I took the medicine as prescribed by him and 14 days later i was cured from HERPES, Dr. Abumere truly you are great, do you need his help also? Why don’t you contact himthrough:email:[email protected] or you can also WhatsApp me on +2349021975055

  • Hello guys!
I was on a rice diet 3 months ago, and I avoid using or eating sugar and flour. I wanted to lose weight, and I was 6 kgs lighter than before. First and second day was pretty hard, I felt empty, tiredness and bad mood. After this diet I had more energy, there weren’t any mood swings. I’m really sweet tooth but I just didn’t crave. My sugar detox lasted 10 days.
    Good luck for everyone!❤️❤️❤️

  • This is mainly for me I ate a bunch of candies tonight and I am ready to say goodbye
I am 138 pounds and I want to be healthier starting tomorrow I’ll cut out dairy, sugar and gluten for four weeks!
    Days
1 So I ate some eggs and vegetables for dinner I ate some chicken and some veggies as well
2 I usually have eggs and I use olive oil as butter and use different veggies everyday and fruit as an in between meal to give me that little sweetness and goodness to my meal
3 I am also working during this (Chloe Ting 2019 summer shred) and I still have enough energy to do so, so that’s good. I have around an egg or two eggs everyday to keep that protein and nutrients
4 I am craving chocolate and I bought some brownies and I place it right in front of where I do my japanese and reading for as well self discipline bc i have been working on that.
5 I did a 45 minute workout and I hate cardio haha I usually eat 1-9 or 12-8 depending when I am sleeping or when I am done my workout ;p I am going to have two eggs, broccoli and cucumber. Before this I throughout all the chocolate I bought but I bought brownies for the self discipline but that was an action of like yo I am done fool. So yeah all that chocolate in the poubelle (trash in french) I was around 137 now I am at 133 in five days and I still got energy throughout the day. The only thing I’d say I’d feel full but not that satisfied after dinner. I think that’s just not me used to it tho.
6 I went for a walk and it’s 10 rn and I usually don’t eat until 12 or 1 pm so i’ll workout. I am really craving brownies, bread and all that which sounds superrrrr good. I got 22 days left and it hurts the soul. I just want chocolate and all that yummy stuff, i just gotta remind myself that I am not losing anything out of having no sugar…… except TASTE! ugh!
7 I started eating rice but i think that’s fine
8 I just want my sugar man….. but still sugar free

  • I had a HUGE painful lump in throat for years and doctors had no idea what it was but wanted to remove it with surgery. I gave up processed foods and it went away within 3 weeks! That was 3 years ago and hasn’t come back. There are weird ingredients in processed foods.

  • Anyone watching this while on lockdown? Because I’ve been craving more sugary foods than ever…but am determined to follow the no sugar plan.

  • I have cut my sugar intake drastically the last 2 weeks. I do eat some so I don’t give up like before but it is a bitch. I just cuss everything

  • I was a sugar addict for over 30 years. I cut out foods that cause inflammation and did a month candida/parasite detox and now I’m not interested in sugar at all. Lost over 35 pounds in two months without exercise.

  • Omg I just found you today and I am absolutely LOVING your channel… I just went gluten, dairy free and am trying to go vegan as well so this helps me so much to see what you do and use xo thank you

  • Good to hear about how important it is to find “non sugar” ways to de-stress, as well as trying to remove the added sugars, and acknowledging that it is an addiction hard to break. However, there are so many people in this country, and mine (Canada) who have become metabolically ill from 30 40 years of eating processed, low fat, sugar augmented “foods” (I do not call them foods now), and for these people, cutting out added sugars is just the tip of the iceberg towards healing of their bodies. They may have to go further, cutting out starches as well, and most fruits, before they might see improvements in health outcomes. But, you gave very practical advice, and this will certainly be beneficial to younger people, younger adults, and lead them away from eventually getting metabolic disorders.

  • I’m giving up sugar so I get a better skin (get rid of acnes) and a flat tommy, and since flour have the same effect I’m trying rice bread xD
It’s hard since I live with my family and they ask me to cook cakes and cookies to them… But i’m willing to finish 3 months without sugar so my skin get better, so yeah let’s do our best!

  • I don’t eat processed sugar at all and I avoid pasta and high carb foods such as potatoes or beer. Yet I do eat small quantities of dried foods. I know they pack a high sugar content ratio yet they’re apparently great for one’s potassium intake. If anyone knows of alternative sources of potassium, I’m looking forward to hearing from you guys.

  • As someone who is clean and addicted to food, cigarettes, and alcohol I get uncomfortable in my chair when ever someone says “oh don’t worry, your addiction will go away!” no. This is not how it works. Addictions do not go away. They are always there. You do not vanish your addiction, you only learn how to live with it. Just because I am clea, does not mean I am not an addict anymore or that my addiction does not exist anymore. I am just a clean addict and not an active addict. So please do not use the term “your addiction goes away” because it relly doesn’t. You can learn how to live with it, which is a differant story, but it never fully goes away. I go to AA (Alcoholic anonymos), and OA (Obese Anonymous). I have done the 12 steps programs and I have also been in rehab for a year. Please do not share misleading information about the disease of addiction without knowing the first thing about it. I usually adore your context and will remain a subscriber for life, but you do not need scientific evidence that sugar addiction is “a thing”. That is how addiction works. An addict could also be addicted to a chair and a table doesn’t matter what it is as long as it fulfills the hole in their hearts. If someone tells you they are addicted to sugar (which basically means that they do not control sugar but sugar controls them.) than the first thing you need to do as a friend IS BELUEVE THEM. Not run and seek for proof and evidence. I anyone has reached a low in life when they come to admit to be addicted to anything, they probably know what they are talking about. Sorry if I came off as mean, but as an addict I have to take a stand when I see videos that talk about addiction as if it is not a disease but rather a mood that swings away eventually.

  • I really want to learn about sugar cravings today, but I cannot make it through your live stream videos. Please just talk to one camera & don’t jump around from FB to You Tube, etc…

  • A healthy alternative to ice cream is Diana Bananas for you frozen lovers, It’s literally just a chocolate dipped banana with nothing else. It’s also dairy free! And you can see the difference between both

  • After my anorexia days, then binging and starving days, then highly binging days now I deal with sugar addiction. I can’t get a day without sugar! Even if it’s just one or two chocolate bars a day, it bothers me

  • My parents and my other siblings eat this every day so i cant just throw it all out its so hard i try it every day but keep taking little bits its so addictive i manage to stop smoking and sugar is worse

  • man, calm down. eating grains kept us alive over millennia. claiming “it’s just a drug” is just a form of hybris. If life is a “trip”, then yeah, grains and therefore bread etc. are “drugs” to be on this “trip”. I mean come on.

  • What about fruit and veggie smoothies? No fruit juice or anything just bananas and frozen summer fruits, is it ok to drink these instead of eating the whole?

  • I do not crave regular sugar and I do not crave artificial sweeteners. It also does not make me hungry…I use it in my morning coffee so I DO NOT eat more than I would without the coffee that includes my favorite artificial sweetener: Liquid Splenda not granular. This is the ONLY time I consume any type of sugar that isn’t in some other natural food.

  • Yeah artificial sweeteners do help break sugar habits. When I tried it with my homemade milk tea, it tasted so bad that I’d rather drink it without any sweeteners.

  • Just another blah blah blaw diet of things that aren’t normal come on, almond butter? Have peanut butter, bacon and eggs, ham and eggs, fat from butter and meat like steak, etc.
So ridiculous, been there done that in over a thousand diets that have come and gone! yikes!

  • who else is watching this in quarantine hoping to stop eating all the sugar they are consuming but cant stop because all you have to do at home is eat.

  • you re wrong. The only way to stop hunger is with sugar. Hunger ocurs when your glucose levels are low. Glucose fuel is sugar. You stupid doctors whant to hide this for your convenience.

  • I’ve been avoiding sugar for a couple of months and it’s better this way. I can just feel that my health is improved even if just a little.

  • Thank you this helped so much! I have a sugar intolerance and it mostly shows up as acne on my skin so whenever I don’t eat sugar for a long period of time my skin clears up so much and I feel way better, but sometimes I can’t help it because I still live with my parents and seeing biscuits and chocolate doesn’t help haha

  • Dani, I really value what you have to say. Can you please do a video on bloating and tell us what foods can help with that. I suffer with hypothyroidism but it is controlled with medication. I don’t know if thyroid medication causes bloat. Thank you so much. I love your channel!!!!

  • I JUST CUT OUT SUGAR and decreased my carb intake. I definitely felt a withdrawal. I was so fatigued the first week but now I feel great. I have more energy than ever!! For the past 20 years, I’ve been teaching people how to heal their body naturally. I must say this is an excellent video. I agree 100% with the message you’re trying to get across to your viewers. Kudos!

  • I normaly dint eat sugary stuffs since overly sweetness makes me nauseous i dont like chocolate but i consume dark choclat 75-82% pure dark cacao in small amounts but during my period i start eating all kind of sweet treats and unhealthy stuffs wich is okey because after this week i go back on track but during this quarantine i started eating alot of sweet stuffs even if it healthy like dates or fruits but it to much for me i can’t control i feel horrible my stomach hurt i gained weight and i usually end up throwing up because of the pain and the discomfort

  • Flour and sugar completely not the same. Flour is starch, a polysaccharide made out of only glucose, and sugar is a disaccharide made out of glucose + fructose. And actually this is the fructose which is toxic. Flour can cause troubls but they totally arent the same

  • i went sugarless cold turkey. sugar being just as addictice as cocaine. i could not do it slowly. i joined a 12 step program to help me in this process. its been 7 years

  • The tips are very helpful to reduce sugar. Sugar is the most difficult thing to quit and one of the most addictive and unhealthy ingredients. Thank you so much for such a useful video:)

  • DO NOT mix coconut oil in your rice or any of your food. It might lower the glycemic index but ingestion of coconut oil (and palm oil) will elevate your LDL (the bad cholesterol) in your blood stream, this can build up and cause heart and blood vessel problems in the future. She has millions of followers who might actually ff every word she says so I have to mention this..

The safe and healthy oils we can ingest are olive and canola oil ✌️

  • This so true. Sugars are like drugs. Almost every product in the market has refined sugars in it. Once you get so addicted you get diabetes. I lost my grandparents due to this.

I wish plant based snacks and drinks with no refined sugar is cheaper than junkfoods we see. I’m not vegan but I hope it will be more affordable so everyone can swap it for normal snacks.

  • I tried this… i had very bad headaches at day 4 and could barely walk at day 7
I stopped it and ate some dates and ate some rice with dinner

  • 6:46 Interesting. The national recommendation in my country, the Netherlands, is 0.8 gram per kg of your bodyweight. Your recommendation is over twice as high. I find 0.8 grams per kilogram quite difficult to reach, let alone per pound. I’m sticking with what’s recommended here.

  • Omg, I think you just said whatever I’ve been through…. I eat less carbs for losing weight. However, I’m end up with gaining weight because of sugar cravings…. Kind of binge eating. I can easily eat more than 5000 calories chocolates cookies cakes whatever I see, I’ll eat even though I don’t like it. I eat carbs more on purpose now and sugar craving is less… It has been two weeks now, I don’t crave sweets now. Jus craving fruit sometimes, at least it’s natural sweets! Thank you for your video!

  • I have such a problem with adding flavored creamers to my coffee. I don’t like coffee any other way…or I just haven’t worked up to it yet. I like creaminess and find milk to watery. Any ways to flavor coffee and add creaminess without the fake flavored creamers I love so much?

  • Chromium Picolinate, and L-Glutamine have helped me. I take them for other reasons, but their side effects are that they curb sugar and carb dependence.

  • How am I meant to break my sugar addiction if I have to eat what my mom makes for dinner even if it’s got lots of carbs and sugar?

  • Thanks for those of you who joined me live today! Be sure to let me know down in the comments below if you have a topic you want me to cover in an upcoming video. XO

  • What do you think of Swerve? I’ll make baked goods for my diabetic aunt with Swerve, almond flour and casein. It works okay for her.

  • Hi Dani:-) Hello from Ukraine. I’ve been missing your live videos lately, sorry for that, you usually go live during my work time. I loved your fruit salads recipes! will absolutely try them out:-) this topic doesn’t particularly relate to me cos I get sweetness from fruit and veggies, but my hubby is a sugar craver and I’ll try to use your tips to go down for him

  • Quit processed sugar back in November. I do eat a little fruit almost daily. Lost 45lbs since November 2019. Also, I do have 2 cans of Vernors ginger ale a month.
After having saying this it’s almost impossible to avoid SOME processed sugar because it comes in nearly everything we buy at the store.

  • Please can you help with some recipes that is good for eating before exercise and after exercising especially in the mornings thanks

  • I have chronic insomnia and high levels of pain, I eat so much sugar, but really want to cut it out. How do I go about that? I’m really desperate to be healthy and look after myself, but when I’m only getting 1 or so hours a night (and I have 5 kids) then all I want is sweet foods x

  • Hey Danny, I would really want to know what you eat in a day. I know a lot of you tubers do it and I would enjoy if you did it too. Love the work your doing, keep it up!

  • I haven’t eaten any real sugar (anything in the fifth ingredient or lower I don’t count) in over 3 years. I have sugar substitutes like erythritol, Splenda etc all the time and it’s never led me to eat real sugar (which I include honey, molasses, coconut sugar and all calorie equivalents to sugar) in fact I don’t think it would have been possible without those subs and I’m maintaining a 50 lb weight loss for these past few years. I say, do what works for you!

  • Dani, I really value what you have to say. Can you please do a video on bloating and tell us what foods can help with that. I suffer with hypothyroidism but it is controlled with medication. I don’t know if thyroid medication causes bloat. Thank you so much. I love your channel!!!!

  • 1. Artificial sweeteners. Glad I don’t use artificial sweeteners intentionally. Though, I may have had consumed them in processed foods before.
    2. Energy. Sleep is the key, man.
    3. Low-Carb Diets. Never been on a low-carb diet before. With the amount of rice I eat because of my East Asian heritage, I think I eat a high-carb diet, by default. Rice is a cheap source of calories.
    4. Low-Protein in the Diet. Almost everything has protein. I doubt anyone from a developed country will suffer from protein deficiency in the diet.
    5. Stress. This is tied with lack of sleep.
    6. Too much highly refined processed foods. Duuuhhh. Processed foods often contain an excessive amount of added sugars and artificial sweeteners.
    7. Veganism I must note that the most plausible rationale for veganism is animal ethics for presumably sentient animals. It’s a bit weak on environmental issues and personal health issues, even though vegans use the environment and personal health to gain supporters. The problem is trying to convince people that all vertebrate mammals (somehow, cute vertebrate mammals tend to pull on people’s heartstrings) deserve human empathy and protection. So… the vegan argument falls apart right there. Nevertheless, I believe that a whole foods, plant-based diet is ideal for human health. Just not vegan. I don’t think vegan is healthy or necessary.
    8. Honey lemon water. I once dropped a lemon wedge inside my cup and filled the cup with boiling hot water. Then, I allowed the water to cool a bit to a drinkable temperature. It tasted lemony.
    9. I have never really craved sweets, for some reason. I don’t have a sweet tooth. My mom does. What’s ironic is that my mother grew up in China, and Chinese desserts are mildly sweet. I grew up mostly in the USA, the country with super-sweet desserts, and still not attracted to sweet things.

  • How can I control my sugar intake for fruits? I love fruits and can eat them all day long! But that sugar isn’t necessarily any better since it’s a lot. How much natural sugar is good compared to processed sugar?

  • This is one of the most practical, helpful videos I’ve come across. Absolutely on point with what people struggle with mostly. I am very much against fad diets that require us to deprive ourselves of sugar in order to lose weight. Eating healthy whole foods, in moderation is a true lifestyle change and therefore, it is very much sustainable. Thank you once again.

  • What worthless advice. Telling people to eat fruit (sugar bombs) to stop sugar cravings is as retarded as saying drink beer to stop alcohol cravings. He said you want to flatline your blood sugar, so eating MORE sugar is going to do that? The only way to “flatline” blood sugar is not to eat.

  • It was amusing that the commercial that played before this video was for M&M’s… youtube, you are cruel hahahahaha… This video was honestly very helpful, I’ve worked very hard to break my sugar addictions, but it is still a struggle not to crave sweet things… I notice now that I have cut out most refined sugars things taste SO insanely sweet, it’s amazing that I can not longer even tolerate foods I used to enjoy without thinking they were overly sweet at all

  • My girls (4 and 2) love watching your videos with me. They really want to go visit your house, but I sadly have to tell them you live too far away…. =) We love your channel and your videos!!

  • My sugar cravings are also my biggest ‘sin’ when it comes to eating healthy. But over time I’ve learnt to replace them with healthier choices such as fruits. Fruits also have sugar, so on weight loss diets you will want to eat less sweet fruits, such as berries.

  • I really want to learn about sugar cravings today, but I cannot make it through your live stream videos. Please just talk to one camera & don’t jump around from FB to You Tube, etc…

  • Oh my god you are amazing!! I just “discovered” you and this video was SOOO useful! Sorry I probably won’t be able to follow your lives (I am from Italy) but I will keep following you for sure! Here and on IG!

  • Sugar cravings come from eating sugar and refined carbohydrates. Eat more fat!!! Yes animal and saturated too. What you crave is not your cognitive conscious self. It’s your biochemistry. A calorie is not a calorie.

  • I do not crave regular sugar and I do not crave artificial sweeteners. • basically u have to go Keto……………..and that’s sucks! i did it for 2 months, and after it i gain more, cause the sweeteners make me crave sugar more! i was eating keto ”cookies” all the time….and god knows that keto cookies are just plain NOT good! My Solution: Do intermittent Fasting or the Snake Diet with Cole.

  • I don’t have any sugar products in my home. 80% of my meals are oven cocked or boiled. Never buy things inside a package, except pasta that I need for the gym. I only drink water, tea, and very occasionally beer or wine and in small amounts (one can of beer per week). I never go to fast food restaurants, and I take a pizza once every month/two months (not burguers). I feel so much better, that I considerer all the fast and process food companies as a criminals that make the people addicted and building to them a very bad health with time. Your hormon and metabolic system is not a joke. Honor and respect your body, you don’t have another. Never is late to change. You deserve it.

  • Consider a low-fat, high-carb diet ( plant based diet and fasting )
Although there’s no firm evidence that any specific foods or nutrients can activate brown fat, it’s interesting to note that radiologists—who want to decrease brown fat activity when doing scans of cancer patients, because the heat generated by activated brown fat

makes it harder to see tumor-related activity—routinely recommend that patients eat a high-fat, low-carb diet before scans, on the grounds that this reduces brown fat activation. This suggests that a low-fat, high-carb diet will boost brown fat activity.

  • it’s a struggle when a family member is eating something unhealthy, and then you just give into the craving, by the way I’m doing the two week shred challenge. I will do an extra exercise to burn off any calories that I got from eating a small slice of pizza or ice cream

  • I take sugar only in tea. I don’t eat sugary food even though I have obesity and don’t have mood to do anything. No one tell me why I am being like that

  • when i crave sweets i just grab a couple dates. just make sure they are not sweetened through sugar, but naturally by themselves. its usually the biggest type of dates in size..
or plain greek yogurt and adding some honey and nuts.

  • who else is watching this in quarantine hoping to stop eating all the sugar they are consuming but cant stop because all you have to do at home is eat.

  • You are right man i have lowered 50 lbs in 8 months listening to this, its hard at first but it pays off, i weight 170 now down from 254. Eat whole foods and you will see changes in your body.

  • I like healthy foods with fiber, protein, veggies and all that but I also just love chocolate… I usually eat too much when I’m sad, stressed or just because I have nothing else to do. It usually takes me a week of detox to break away from excessive sugar and carbs, on day two now!:D sigh. This quarantine really made it easy to just eat and eat

  • Chromium Picolinate, and L-Glutamine have helped me. I take them for other reasons, but their side effects are that they curb sugar and carb dependence.

  • Sugar is very hard to quit. The addiction is very very real. It was harder to quit sugar than it was to stop smoking cigarettes. The best thing to do is cut down little by little. Quitting cold turkey is next to Impossible physically or mentally.

  • Stop drinking Coca-Cola, Pepsi or some “energy” drink. Then after a week or two try a glass of it. Its going to be undrinkable as it will be too sweet for you.

  • After my anorexia days, then binging and starving days, then highly binging days now I deal with sugar addiction. I can’t get a day without sugar! Even if it’s just one or two chocolate bars a day, it bothers me

  • Everything you said was right from my experience and I realize all this. But it’s so hard to keep it up, I will do great for a few weeks or even a month, then I’m back to eating badly. I even eat good foods and then the bad things too! I love all food!!

  • This guy doesnt tell us how to quit sugar and processed foods. He just says dont do it and that never works. I have tried this for decades. Can a heroine addict just say ok I am done now? I dont know any that could. You just said in the video sugar is 8x more addictive than cocaine. So how do we quit there numbnuts? LOL Make a better video

  • man, calm down. eating grains kept us alive over millennia. claiming “it’s just a drug” is just a form of hybris. If life is a “trip”, then yeah, grains and therefore bread etc. are “drugs” to be on this “trip”. I mean come on.

  • am i the only one who doesn’t really like to add oil to things, other than when i’m actually cooking. Like have y’all ate a salad with JUST lettuce and tomatoes?

  • He is so damn right! now when i consume ice cream or candy on my cheat meal i feel weird after consuming it & even guilty although its allowed once a week as per my diet program..

  • New year new decade.. January 2020 diets and gym advice everywhere..I’m guilty of eating junk and going to try to eat more healthy..Got to have some enjoyment in life perhaps a treat now and then like ice cream or a bar of chocolate.

  • What do you think of Swerve? I’ll make baked goods for my diabetic aunt with Swerve, almond flour and casein. It works okay for her.

  • Bare in mind not everyone lives in America

Saying that I visited Canada 10 years ago and I was shocked how much sweeter there chocolate is compared to British chocolate in the uk

Plus free refills of soda at the cinema and pop corn that comes in a bucket

  • When I goto Walmart. I get the bag of broccoli or the broccoli Normandy mix in the frozen isle. Withdrawing from all that process food will make you feel horrible at first. For my soda lovers go to carb water like Topo Chico, Perrier, so on. Yes they have sodium but not much and they basically only carbonated water with a twist of lime/cherry or whatever is used in the other flavors of those line. But I rec only drinking like two 12oz bottle the most. I drink it with my meals

  • This guy doesnt tell us how to quit sugar and processed foods. He just says dont do it and that never works. I have tried this for decades. Can a heroine addict just say ok I am done now? • Just stopped eating the real good icecream every day = almost 1200 calories a day habit. It’s been a month and I’m doing fine. But I will stress that I’m 60,5’10,215lbs. But I workout with free weights and even do deadlifts. I’m about 15 over weight around my mind section. Also cut out 3 slices of bread a day, only have one with my egg whites and coffee for breakfast, no sugar. So I will see how long it takes to get rid of this 15 pounds.

  • Here’s a trick I did, for the first 3 days I made sure I was out of the house and really busy, and wasn’t thinking about sugar and sweet things. If your just watching TV all the first few days than it is super difficult not to give into the cravings! If you can do that than the sugar cravings by day 4 are much less intense!!!

  • I quit sugar 3 days ago and started walking 20 min a day + watching my meals portion and focusing more on protein, I weighed 104.9 kg 3 days ago and now at 101.9 kg, all scaled at the same times of the day with a clean bowel, bloating is gone and I can breath better. So 102 more days and I will gain invisibility powers.

  • It’s nearly impossible to cut this out.. it’s in literally everything, even things that it wouldn’t normally make sense for it to be in when cooking a homemade version at home.. but the store bought versions always have a bunch of extra crap in them.

  • no way..i couldtnt insert,my email!!! you press the screen the video stops and it doesn’t work it doesn’t let you insert the email (?)

  • Flour and sugar completely not the same. Flour is starch, a polysaccharide made out of only glucose, and sugar is a disaccharide made out of glucose + fructose. And actually this is the fructose which is toxic. Flour can cause troubls but they totally arent the same

  • Very true especially when you have your natural sugar intake in fruits and have enough protein sugary process food will scale you.

  • RE Monk fruit: Rocco Dispirito uses it in a lot of his smoothie recipes. Sorry my reply has taken so long. I am not familiar with social media posting, etc.

  • I’ve quite sex porn jacking off for 200 and something days still counting but this soda addiction is a lot more harder.. I’m quitting sugar and soda for the rest of the year as to rn wish me lucky

  • The tips are very helpful to reduce sugar. Sugar is the most difficult thing to quit and one of the most addictive and unhealthy ingredients. Thank you so much for such a useful video:)

  • Break sugar addiction in 10 days
    1. Make a decision to break the sugar habit
    2. Cold-turkey: stopping all forms of sugar and flour and artificial sweeteners
    3. Don’t drink your calories
    4. Add protein to every meal
    5. Eat non starchy veggies
    6. Eat good fats in every meal
    7. Manage stress
    8. Quit gluten and dairy for 10 days
    9. Sleep

  • I’m really enjoying @chloeting as she barely mentions ‘skinny’ or ‘lose weight’ in the actual videos. However as a recovered ED seeing anything ‘fat’ related is highly triggering and may shame others who may be overweight or struggling. Rather say ‘bloated’ or ‘uncomfortable’ or heavy. Stop the fat shaming

  • 1. Make the decision to quit.
    2. Quit cold Turkey sugar flour and processed food
    3. Don’t drink your calories
    4. Add protein to every meal
    5. Eat non starchy vegetables
    6. Eat good fats
    7. Manage your stress
    8. Quit dairy for 10 days
    9. Get enough sleep

  • I had an easier time quitting Smoking/Heavy nicotine addiction than quitting sugar. It is so hard, I pray and ask God to give me the strength it requires to defeat this demon. I still havent found it, wish me luck yall

  • I support everyone in this stop the Sugar forever it is really hard for me now i am almost 1 week without! Sugar is not just poison is addiction and it is like a all worst drugs in the world, by my opinion is just a legal one so people are weak and to be controlled.

  • Sugar is very hard to quit. The addiction is very very real. It was harder to quit sugar than it was to stop smoking cigarettes. The best thing to do is cut down little by little. Quitting cold turkey is next to Impossible physically or mentally.

  • My goal is to break this addiction. I used to drink multiple cups of coffee(with sweetened creamer) multiple times a day. Lately, I’ve only been drinking one cup a day. Tomorrow, I’m not going to put sugar in my morning coffee.
My plan is to not break the addiction fully in a month. Wish I did it in my early 20s instead of 27, but at least I’m starting

  • sugar is 8x more addictive than cocaine.

me in the hood: Yo.. yall don’t know me… I hit something that’s 8x harder than cocaine EVERYDAY

  • Hey sweetie, I don’t think your thumbnail reflects your actual body image philosophy. I know you would never allow one of us to call ourselves “fat” even if we are joking. I can tell you don’t think you’re fat, and you’re encouraging even us not to freak out when we gain a few pounds here and there. I love your advice, but maybe consider changing your thumbnail. It’s okay because we all struggle with being kind even to ourselves!

  • omg this was so helpful i used to wake up in the night, craving for sugar so I got a donut or a pop tart, which I knew was bad but thx to this I cut my habit out and it really helped

  • I notice since I cut refined sugar out of mt diet 4 years ago I no longer crave it and even when I cut out 95 percent of processed food out of my diet i have trouble eating those kinds of foods without vomiting i notice i am more energetic thru eating a Mediterranean diet and my autoimmune diseases are under control without medications and i feel healthier

  • no way..i couldtnt insert,my email!!! you press the screen the video stops and it doesn’t work it doesn’t let you insert the email (?)

  • I love how real you are. it shows me that losing weight is a hard process, and seeing you admit you deal with the same struggles like sugar cravings is really inspiring to me. if you can do it, so can I!

  • Drink lemon water in the morning for breakfast, or a smoothie with almond milk, or ice water with a cap of apple cider vinegar with mothers

  • Stopped 30 seconds in. Whole wheat flour is NOT SUGAR-it is NOT empty calories like white flour. According to SEVERAL licensed nutritionists I know. This kind of excessive zealotry is what makes people AVOID self-proclaimed “diet experts.”

  • Thank you, Ria. Your video is so helpful and you’re so pretty which really helps when watching health videos.
I’ve decided to eliminate as much sugar as possible and it’s really a struggle since almost everything has sugar.

  • Want to quit sugar? Workout. U will quit it automatically bcz u dnt want to waste ur hardwork n time u used while workout.
I was a chocolate addict. I quit it altogether along with maggie, white bread, milk n yes sugar.

  • Honestly my body just prefers natural food over processed like I LOVE dried fruit over sweets because it’s JUST TASTES SOO MUCH BETTER in my opinion

  • One thing that I don’t see these videos addressing is that the actual experience (rather than taste) of eating sweets is different from eating hot meals or a piece of fruit. I like to eat the sweets very slowly, over the course of an hour or two, usually while relaxing in a prone position. You can’t eat a banana over the course of more than an hour. In fact I struggle to think of any other food you can do this with (I guess you could use chips, grapes, or nuts? doesn’t seem the same). Tried to cut sugar for a month a couple of years ago (for no real reason other than people saying it’s bad, I am borderline underweight and have no health problems) and failed after two weeks. I was thinking about it all the time because I lacked this little evening ritual.

  • Such an informative short and sweet concise video! Thank YOU so much for sharing. I have learned a lot. And, it was really peaceful to watch and stressful because we all know how it feels when someone tells you to cut down on this and thati.

  • My goal is to break this addiction. I used to drink multiple cups of coffee(with sweetened creamer) multiple times a day. Lately, I’ve only been drinking one cup a day. Tomorrow, I’m not going to put sugar in my morning coffee.

  • I love all of your videos Dani! I’m 23 and I had my first seizure in July and have dealt with constant seizures since. I gained 30 pounds from the medicine, and emotional damage I faced from it. I’m getting back on the wagon and using some of your tips and recipes to get me there. I’m doing a whole 30 which just seemed like a good reset for me. Thanks for all that you do, you are appreciated more than you know.

  • I’m an RN and I know these things, yet I am addicted to sugar and flour. I’m so stressed out at work right now and don’t get to eat lunch until later in my shift. I have no will power and I hate it.

  • As for me, i find drinking lemon water really helps in reducing sugar craving. Drinking plain water can be so boring and makes me crave sugar. Lemon water is really a lifesaver.

  • I came across a blog like this while browsing the web site
https://diabetesfreedom1.blogspot.com/ I would appreciate it if you examine the
truth on the blogs like this.

  • In Europe is much easier to do. Our groceries dont have hidden sugar. Sorry fellow americans, your food industry is screwing you big time.

  • This video is dope, I didn’t have to watch until the end and have to end up purchasing the answer like a book or something. Nice video!

  • I’ve been addicted to sugar for years! But Instead of grabbing ice cream and pop tarts, I keep strawberries, apples and raisins on hand to snack on

  • That Q about pudding was too funny! my son asks whats for pudding b4 he has even taken a mouthful of his meal! hahahaha its worse now that i have changed our food and were eating more plant based as its lots more fruit, homemade icecream or energy balls hahahaha. will work on trying to not have that routine. I wudnt want my kids growing up with that desire all the time

  • The thing I was thinking about lately is dried fruits. I should have basically everything normal fruits have except water. Being more condensed makes it easier to overconsume them though.

  • One thing that I don’t see these videos addressing is that the actual experience (rather than taste) of eating sweets is different from eating hot meals or a piece of fruit. • As of right now, I haven’t been allowed any sugar (except for fruits) for the past 4 months. Guess who still has HUGE sugar cravings?

  • I find it so hard to eat healthy cuz all that stuff is expensive. What I just do is, no sugars and wheat. I know it’s lame but I don’t have enough money to buy that stuff.

  • my doctor told me to eat very little or no fruits at all. I said that was unrealistic, and he replied “……okay, you can have tomatoes.” I was floored.

Any advice?

  • My personal tips:
avoid buying sugary snaks ( choose diet soda also )
if you crave sweets, buy a small amount, don’t go crazy. quantity really makes a difference
choose dark chocolate it’s very satisfying
eat full fat, it helps keep the cravings away
try to avoid to many sweets in your home by not buying them in the first place
after a couple of months your taste buds desensitize and you will come to reject foods with too much sugar
There is something worse than sugar that we eat much more of: flour. I drastically cut everything with flour and lost 50 pounds

  • I am so sad i have to stop eating desserts, when he says stop for 8 to 21 days it seems like an awful thing. I just wanna call a bakery n get desserts delivered now.

    So awful

  • Anyone watching this while on lockdown? Because I’ve been craving more sugary foods than ever…but am determined to follow the no sugar plan.

  • My sugar cravings are also my biggest ‘sin’ when it comes to eating healthy. But over time I’ve learnt to replace them with healthier choices such as fruits. Fruits also have sugar, so on weight loss diets you will want to eat less sweet fruits, such as berries.

  • My parents and my other siblings eat this every day so i cant just throw it all out its so hard i try it every day but keep taking little bits its so addictive i manage to stop smoking and sugar is worse

  • luckily I’m not American. I’m surprised American people didn’t confront their gov to start controlling corporations and shit food they make. o.O

  • This is my problem when I finish my seven night stretch. I’m tired & I want something sweet and or salty. Thanks for the tips! ☺ ❤ Love both your videos.

  • Hello, I have been following your advice for three weeks now. I have had some ups and downs. Right now I am at a point where I don’t get hungry anymore. Is that okay?

  • 100% stop drinking soda and juices. They just have a bunch of added sugar and empty calories. No wonder alot of people in the US are overweight or obese

  • I’m an RN and I know these things, yet I am addicted to sugar and flour. I’m so stressed out at work right now and don’t get to eat lunch until later in my shift. I have no will power and I hate it.

  • In Europe is much easier to do. Our groceries dont have hidden sugar. Sorry fellow americans, your food industry is screwing you big time.

  • I had a slow metabolism until i tried @t. Now i am losing weight and fat very fast, this @t is magical. If you want to lose weight and fat very fast and healty, you need to try it @t. You don’t need to stick to a diet, you can eat everything you want. Just give this a chance. This increases longevity and decreases hunger. It helps with blood sugar control. Just try it @t

  • What about fruit and veggie smoothies? No fruit juice or anything just bananas and frozen summer fruits, is it ok to drink these instead of eating the whole?

  • This so true. Sugars are like drugs. Almost every product in the market has refined sugars in it. Once you get so addicted you get diabetes. I lost my grandparents due to this.

I wish plant based snacks and drinks with no refined sugar is cheaper than junkfoods we see. I’m not vegan but I hope it will be more affordable so everyone can swap it for normal snacks.

  • Yeah artificial sweeteners do help break sugar habits. When I tried it with my homemade milk tea, it tasted so bad that I’d rather drink it without any sweeteners.

  • omg this was so helpful i used to wake up in the night, craving for sugar so I got a donut or a pop tart, which I knew was bad but thx to this I cut my habit out and it really helped

  • As for me, i find drinking lemon water really helps in reducing sugar craving. Drinking plain water can be so boring and makes me crave sugar. Lemon water is really a lifesaver.

  • Omg I just found you today and I am absolutely LOVING your channel… I just went gluten, dairy free and am trying to go vegan as well so this helps me so much to see what you do and use xo thank you

  • I’ve been addicted to sugar for years! But Instead of grabbing ice cream and pop tarts, I keep strawberries, apples and raisins on hand to snack on

  • Hello…the body WILL desire sugar…but that doesn’t mean you should listen to it…you are trying to break the desire/craving….Give it 21 days. That should get you not eating anymore sugar or very little. You need to Google Gluconeogenesis. The body will make sugar if it needs it. Protein is good for the body…but not too much but technically, it depends on your age.

  • Gidday from Australia, very informative video great tips. I get carb cravings because Im menopausal, sourdough bread is my weakness:-)

  • Processed food is a killer. Yes, food in its natural form is healthy for you. If you read the label and can’t pronounce it do not eat it.

  • How can I control my sugar intake for fruits? I love fruits and can eat them all day long! But that sugar isn’t necessarily any better since it’s a lot. How much natural sugar is good compared to processed sugar?

  • Great advice! I love that you encourage people to listen to their bodies and to try different approaches to find out which kind of “diet” works best for them. I’m so sick of all these people so convinced they found the “one truth” when it comes to proper nutrition. Which of course they immediately want to impose on everybody else, too. It’s so tiring, all that dogmatism and aggression. This is such a haven of common sense and goodnatured advice

  • Oh my god you are amazing!! I just “discovered” you and this video was SOOO useful! Sorry I probably won’t be able to follow your lives (I am from Italy) but I will keep following you for sure! Here and on IG!

  • actually, if you get your tea too sweet, then you start to not love sweets ( it happened to me) and funny thing is that this was reccomended to me in youtube when i talked to my dad about peoples, who have sugar addictions

  • I tell myself this-
refined sugar causes inflammation in the body which causes a build up of plaque in the arteries leading to heart disease, causes diabetes, causes cancer, can lead to strokes, it gives you wrinkles as blokes collagen production also not good for the joints, rots your teeth and contains no vitamins or minerals and no nutritional value.
you wouldn’t give a child a cigarette to smoke but you are happy to give them this poison
    Mmmm food for thought x

  • I’m not watching this to lose weight but im actually watching this cuz i prob crave sugar EVERYDAY. I bet I eat a tablespoon or more every day and I dont wanna keep eating it. But ugh my birthdays next week and i’ll have tons of sugar, i’ll try stopping for 7 days then have a “break” then continue, i hope it works.

  • I typically eat almost no sugar, maybe about 5-10g per week. The problem is that when I go out to dinner as a group or go to family gatherings with a dessert, I binge in that moment. I can’t stop the sugar overload in that moment. This is the only time that I ever worry about my sugar intake. What can I do?

  • Hi, You did not mark Barley Malt red, as a sugar, which it is. Thankyou for sharing usefull information and raising awareness of this important issue. All the best.

  • Who could trust an American doctor, they are in the pockets of the big pharma companies, the whole of America is medicated, shocking.

  • Very true especially when you have your natural sugar intake in fruits and have enough protein sugary process food will scale you.

  • Oy, you nailed it here! I think for me it’s the combination of stress AND processed food (because when you’re overly busy you don’t take the time to make carrots sticks and go after the chocolate bar instead, what a vicious circle) And then the headaches that a fellow watcher mentioned. It goes away after a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll, so you get into the HABIT, and that’s another trap.
    Man, it’s though.
Thanks for an excellent episode! Keep it up, Dani!

  • Thank you, Ria. Your video is so helpful and you’re so pretty which really helps when watching health videos.
I’ve decided to eliminate as much sugar as possible and it’s really a struggle since almost everything has sugar.

  • For people who have cravings for sugar try Mberries they change the flavor of things and make it sweeter so you can eat fruit and it will taste like sugar and it is completely organic since it’s a berry

  • But what do you do after day 10? Never eat sugar again, or just eat less of it? I want to break my addiction but I’m worried that I will just go back to my old ways after day 10.

  • Living in a house full of people that enjoy sweet things myself included but now I’m diabetic is become very challenging I do not like water but I drink diet soda which says it has no sugars artificial sweetener or calories

  • Dr Oz is so melodramatic. Every guest, every plan get’s over-the-top gushing. Having said that, I periodically check out the video clips.

  • Why would you compare sweetened oatmeal to ice cream to make the point that the ice cream is the less destructive choice? The point is to not choose either. If you want oatmeal, choose steel cut rolled oats that are not instant. That beats ice cream under any circumstances.

  • Sugar cravings come from eating sugar and refined carbohydrates. Eat more fat!!! Yes animal and saturated too. What you crave is not your cognitive conscious self. It’s your biochemistry. A calorie is not a calorie.

  • I am so sad i have to stop eating desserts, when he says stop for 8 to 21 days it seems like an awful thing. I just wanna call a bakery n get desserts delivered now.

    So awful

  • As of right now, I haven’t been allowed any sugar (except for fruits) for the past 4 months. Guess who still has HUGE sugar cravings?

  • You are right man i have lowered 50 lbs in 8 months listening to this, its hard at first but it pays off, i weight 170 now down from 254. Eat whole foods and you will see changes in your body.

  • I typically eat almost no sugar, maybe about 5-10g per week. The problem is that when I go out to dinner as a group or go to family gatherings with a dessert, I binge in that moment.

  • Stop drinking Coca-Cola, Pepsi or some “energy” drink. Then after a week or two try a glass of it. Its going to be undrinkable as it will be too sweet for you.

  • I have cut my sugar intake drastically the last 2 weeks. I do eat some so I don’t give up like before but it is a bitch. I just cuss everything

  • Want to quit sugar? Workout. U will quit it automatically bcz u dnt want to waste ur hardwork n time u used while workout.
I was a chocolate addict. I quit it altogether along with maggie, white bread, milk n yes sugar.

  • i have such a bad sugar addiction and i dont know how to stop it because ive gotten so used to eating sugar im overweight and i hate it but i dont feel good without sugar so im hoping this will help

  • Do anyone know about Custokebon Secrets? Does it work? I hear many individuals lost their fat with this popular weight loss methods.

  • New year new decade.. January 2020 diets and gym advice everywhere..I’m guilty of eating junk and going to try to eat more healthy..Got to have some enjoyment in life perhaps a treat now and then like ice cream or a bar of chocolate.

  • Bare in mind not everyone lives in America

Saying that I visited Canada 10 years ago and I was shocked how much sweeter there chocolate is compared to British chocolate in the uk

Plus free refills of soda at the cinema and pop corn that comes in a bucket

  • Stopped 30 seconds in. Whole wheat flour is NOT SUGAR-it is NOT empty calories like white flour. According to SEVERAL licensed nutritionists I know. This kind of excessive zealotry is what makes people AVOID self-proclaimed “diet experts.”

  • Thrash sugar….

  • He is so damn right! now when i consume ice cream or candy on my cheat meal i feel weird after consuming it & even guilty although its allowed once a week as per my diet program..

  • I know this has been several months, but if you don’t get along great with beans then eat lots of lentils! Another trick is to cook your beans in a pressure cooker or to add epazote. Rice may have a high glycemic index, but what matters is actually the glycemic load of your entire meal (Joanna Soh has a video about why she eats white rice). Reheating your starch after refrigerating it increases the resistant starch even more. If you’re trying to lose weight more than you’re trying to gain muscle you don’t need to worry about protein because you only NEED for 10% of your calories to come from protein. Dressing your rice with vinegar (such as rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar) helps a lot with the insulin spike, as does an after dinner stroll. I try to hit the “daily dozen” from Nutrition Facts. It doesn’t leave a lot of room for junk food if you get everything in.

  • I tried the mung bean and red bean porridge and it tastes pretty darn good. I added some milk and some chia seeds with some slices of bananas and blueberries! Toppings just like overnight oatmeal

  • omg can somebody explain to me the rice hack? I didn’t get how she was cooking it like you cook rice normally in a rice cooker so put coconut oil in the rice cooker?

  • so, I did some research and found that sugar cravings come from a lack of a certain vitamin. I tend to crave chocolate most when I crave sugar and that means my body needs magnesium! And your mind goes to chocolate, dark to be exact because it has a lot of that vitamin in it! However, it’s really easy to overdo it, so I looked up the foods that have a lot of magnesium and fiber and they are used to dampen them. yay! Nuts, seeds, and fruit for me! Same thing with iron. And this is especially good for when us ladies are on that part of the month. lol

  • im from Tulsa oklahoma and a store I go to just started selling mochi icecream. My mom travels a lot and she says she hates it, but my sister and I LOVE it.

  • thank you so much! at one point, my cravings were so bad that I would literally eat plain chocolate chips if that was the only sugar I had in the house. I’ve always been fairly in shape, but those sugar cravings would always get me depressed and unwilling to workout. After doing your workouts I’ve been actually thinking about what’s going into my mouth and this video helped a lot!

  • I wish I had discovered Chloe before my depression. She doesn’t realise it, but she actually makes you feel so much better about yourself. Go Superwoman!!!
Also, I’m on day 2 of the summer shred challenge 2019 (didn’t know there was a 2020 one…. Lol) Wish me luck!!!

  • I’ve already cut out dairy, glueten and most processed foods, but I do keep a few things around the house with refined sugar….time to kick those out!

  • Chloe Ting is srsly such a blessing. Always enjoyable to watch her videos whether it’s just her lowkey complaining about herself or sharing these tips for us, or just uplifting everyone despite all the hate.

  • hello! It’s the girl about to turn 12! I’m looking at this because I can’t go a day w/out having sugar and I know it’s not a good habit. My mom doesn’t try to stop me even though we know it’s not good soo i’m going to put myself and a “no sugar diet” for 1 week! Plz give me ideas to keep me going!

  • everytime I see these meals and especially these PORTIONS I wonder how is she so slim? Chloe either works out like crazy or her meals are a gift sent from heavens:D

  • Thank you for all the wonderful information and tips. Do you have a video or research on what sugar does to the body besides add fat? So much of the information I have found does not explain much about why sugar is so bad. I believe it. I’m just looking for research-based information to share with my husband.

  • I totally do not agree with artificial sweeteners of any kind! You’re basically saying I’ll trade one poisonous bad habit for another. Also, since when did anyone ever say ‘stevia’ in its it’s natural plant state causes cancer??? I can go along with everything else said in the video.

  • Just sat down to watch this video. I grabbed a bowl of ice cream and as I did, I felt bad about it. I told myself to have a smaller serving than usual and I can slowly move away from some sweet snacks because quitting sweets cold turkey makes me crave them more (plus, it is that TIME of month…so I needed some chocolate….) Anyway I turn on the video and Chloe immediately says to have smaller portions of sweets and not quit them cold-turkey and it really made me feel better about the choice I had just made instead of worse. Thanks, Chloe! Trying the 2 week shred now…only three days in but I am super motivated! <3

  • actually, if you get your tea too sweet, then you start to not love sweets ( it happened to me) and funny thing is that this was reccomended to me in youtube when i talked to my dad about peoples, who have sugar addictions

  • I don’t eat sugar I eat soft cereal whith no sugar and tea biscuits whith no sugar and I didn’t at sugar to Christmas to today I still don’t eat sugar and I brush my teeth

  • RE Monk fruit: Rocco Dispirito uses it in a lot of his smoothie recipes. Sorry my reply has taken so long. I am not familiar with social media posting, etc.

  • Why would you compare sweetened oatmeal to ice cream to make the point that the ice cream is the less destructive choice? The point is to not choose either. If you want oatmeal, choose steel cut rolled oats that are not instant. That beats ice cream under any circumstances.

  • I wish I had the freedom to eat.. you’re so small and you can still eat. I’m fat, ugly, and I still can’t eat anything. I don’t eat much and yet I only gain weight. Someone please help me, I really can’t keep doing this

  • I had a HUGE painful lump in throat for years and doctors had no idea what it was but wanted to remove it with surgery. I gave up processed foods and it went away within 3 weeks! That was 3 years ago and hasn’t come back. There are weird ingredients in processed foods.

  • I’m a young teenager so sugar cravings are really bad for me. The worst part is that my mum freaks out when she sees me eat “too” healthy (because for some reason she things the food she cooks is healthy, when it is not) so I’m never able to actually go on diet:’)))
