The best thing to do is spend the morning eating and drinking as usual (breakfast, midmorning snack, lunch) and then begin the countdown to the competition by having some starchy carbohydrate foods (e.g., a banana, toast, or crackers) and some fluids about 1.5 to 2 hours before the competition starts.

  • From a scientific point of view, the higher the speed when Running, the more carbs we use.
It requires less oxygen To produce the same amount of energy when producing energy from carbs than from fatty acids.
Excess of Saturated fatty acids impairs performance on long term.
It is a good thing To recover with when and carbs after a run.
Tracking calories often induces eating disorders. It is way better To pay attention To how you Feel with your stomach. Feeling comfortably full is ok. Feeling uncomfortably full had To be avoided.
Sorry if my english is poor or bad

  • So I’m seeing all you really eat or taking is your supplements and occasionally some pre made food?? I would like to see your wife’s day in the life. A real unedited day in the life of what you eat

  • Bronwen sent me to watch your video. I watched the whole thing and I like how much food you can eat when the food is healthy and good!

  • You talk about healthiness but are all those supplements actually healthy?
Healthy means eating natural food (not processed stuff from a package).
    I’m confused

  • What do you drink while you’re running? I do 10 miles with just water but I think I need to add an electrolyte drink for when I’m running that distance, any suggestions??

  • Just don’t eat much. Get your body used to running without food!!!! I did it and still gained so much muscle. I ate what I knew my body needed only afterwards! I drank plenty of water and waited about 2 hours to run I peed a bit.

  • You look 10 years older than you actually are. All the supplements and chemicals and crap are making your face sag and making you bald.

  • Thanks for the videos, always interesting and informative. Shot blox are “synthetic food” but gummies are natural. LOLZ. I like dried fruit which has a bit of protein and lots of carbs.

  • I see the africans and their physique and compared to him, he’s too big to be running to get max performance, he probably needs to lose about 35 lbs

  • You run 4 mile warm up….. I been struggling to do a 10k consistency Smfh. I can do a 5k and 4 miles easily but damn as a warm up no.

  • What I find most interesting is the amount of calories he consumes on such a rigorous and intense training schedule. He ran 12 miles, did some strength training at the gym afterwards and then consumed barely any calories? He drank a smoothie, which in my estimate was around 500 calories, a small meal consisting of beef and potatos and lastly a steak? How is that enough to maintain that much muscle when you’re running very long distances every day as well as training at the gym the same day afterwards?

I am shorter than you but I carry a lot of muscle, why I say this is because I train martial arts and on average we burn around 1000 calories in each training session. I eat between 3000-4000 calories to maintain my muscle, especially when I, like you, train strength at the gym the same day after, and I am just as lean as you are. We understand that you are some kind of influencer who wants to advertise his products for some profit on people’s expense but don’t fool them into a bullshit meal plan for a training schedule like yours, especially when 90% of it consists of supplements. Disgusting. Also, you’re definitely roided.

  • What a Cop Out! I enjoyed the whole video and then the your diet confession came and showed how useless this whole video was. hahaha your answer was literally ” i dunno, I had a life changing event and now I just do it.” Come the fuck on!

  • Thanks for the video Becca! I love all of the meals ideas! Very yummy, healthy and easy at the same time! Have you tried to prepare granola? I make a pretty decent amount of it and put it in different jars so that I can eat it during the week! I mix some oat, honey, cinammon, almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut oil, chesnuts. Let me know if you give it a try! Love your videos!

  • @NickBare do wear the knee sleeves for preventative/therapeutic use, or to nurse injury. Appreciate your info, what brand if you can too

  • Is it normal to go thru like a binging phase when transitioning to intuitive eating as giving in to all cravings even when not hungry! How do u fix that! And work on listening to ur body not just cravings especially if not hungry at a certain meal time!

  • Hi Elizabeth! Very informative video!
I have a question. I always run early morning on empty stomach (no food in the last 12 hrs at least).
I only take a sip of water before my run, and i drink nothing up until around 7-8km when i usually start to feel stomach ache/cramp type of discomfort.
What do you think is the cause? Is it lack of hydration? Or is it something else?
    Thanks!

  • Only rich people can afford to burn their income on bs supplements and a ridiculously made shakes lol. Like dude we get it you take supplements Jesus Christ

  • Thanks for sharing! I LOVE Rosie! A quick tip I learned that really helps when chopping vegetables: putting a kitchen towel underneath the board helps keep it in place.

  • Great tip on freezing the baby spinach leaf box. No more throwing away half boxes of slimy spinach. Been doing the freeze since this video, came back to comment, thanks!

  • I experimented not to track calories to have managed food preference. Now I mastered my food choices so I am calculating calories plant based which is 1,600 calories.

  • You look 10 years older than you actually are. All the supplements and chemicals and crap are making your face sag and making you bald.

  • No issue with people using anything, but it’s very misleading when anabolic users claim natural, sets people up for failure and disappointment trying the same thing

  • I remember in the 70’s in college (I’m old) I used red and green ‘supplements’ and the cops showed up at my door and I got busted!

  • love how your videos are REALISTIC and don’t look like there’s a bunch of studio lights everywhere or people having a perfectly clean house/kitchen 24/7. THANK YOU for being real.

  • Ever notice how these guys all go shirtless in these vids?
That’s the same way I roll mostly. I walk around my neighborhood like that all the time.
    Chicks dig that.

  • Becca, I found you through Brownen Real n’ Slim and I’m so glad she sent me to you. I watched this video and a few others and I love them. Thanks for showing what real intuitive eating looks like.

  • This is a great discussion. I run 4 days a week, anywhere between 3-10 miles per run. I intermittent fast on most days and typically run fasted for all my runs with the exception of anything over 10. On race (1/2 marathons and marathons) days I always eat and wonder if my fasted training is helping or hurting me on race day. I typically don’t bonk during the week and I do not steer away from complex carbs:). But admittedly, I do love nut butters and avocados: ). Thanks for bringing up the topic, I look forward to learning more. I am going to try your suggestion of bringing some gels on my longer runs to eat after an hour or so 😉

  • what do you recommend for skinny fat guy just trying to shred some body fat at home. Currently preparing for a surgery so I won’t be seeing the gym for like a month or so

  • I always sigh when I see videos like this packed with pills and powders. If you eat the right things you’ll get all your vitamins and minerals and proteins and fats etc…. such a waste of money:(

  • what do you recommend for skinny fat guy just trying to shred some body fat at home. Currently preparing for a surgery so I won’t be seeing the gym for like a month or so

  • Rosie is the cutest!! Love what I eat videos, I get into a rut which is fine but having options is better so I don’t quit. Going to try the yogurt, jam, and almond butter that is something I’ve never tried. Can only get runs in at night here in Houston, the sun is up to early and with the humidity it is the recipe for the worst run of your life. Thank goodness this half marathon is happening in January!

  • Make the breakfast sweet by adding half a banana to 2 eggs with the oats and mix it before, then cook it. Perfect banana pancake to add fruit, yoghurt honey and peanut butter too:)

  • Taking coffee with a lot of sugar and cream will guarantee the trots. Sugary snacks will also complicate matters.

Filter all your drinking water. (The idea is to remove the excess calcium carbonate in tap water.) The basic rule of thumb would be your drinking water should not test as an electrolyte.

  • Please go easy on the ads. First five minutes of the video is just ads about your company and Dollar Shave club. Takes too long to get to the actual content.

  • Yes he Is on roids guys it’s obviuos stop to Say that it’ s Just a stranger on youtube, not your brother don’t worried about his health too much

  • I love your channel so much!! It’s so informative and interesting! I like your personality and positivity! Plus your videos are always fun to watch!! You deserve so much more subscibers (sorry for my bad english, I speak french, but I still wanted to tell you that I like you and your channel so much xxx)

  • I dont belive how people are blinded by these scam artist who disguise people into buying these artificial food supplements by promoting them via helath & nutirion videos…ranting bout these fake products all in his videos. what a shamble.

  • Yo nick do you ever get an ammonia smell after you’re done running? Yesterday I did 5.6 miles and when I was done and got home there was a strong smell of ammonia this has been happening to me every time I run. What could that possibly mean? Am I lacking electrolytes or maybe I’m not fueling correctly before my runs?????

  • Do u guys do a subscription to your supplements? I wouldn’t mind paying something every month as long as I ensure I get my supplements every so often. Like strong greens / pre-workout. I use those up quicker and protein. Would like to get that every month automatically.

  • Just ordered 3 tubs of your protein from Virginia so excited to give them a try. Thanks for being so motivating! Do you think in the future you will put together sample pack stacks of your supplements?

  • Hi Becca,
I read and watched a video about how harmful cooking with aluminum foil is. Have you heard about this? Is this true or is it a sham?

  • The macca does nothing. If you want to balance hormones ginger tea bigelow or Yogi and squeeze some lemons and mix with honey local to you and taking a prenatal vitamin target. The spinach berries shake is on point.

  • You probably won’t see this comment but…I wanted to ask about your amazing water bottle! Where did you buy it?
Anyway, love your attitude to life and eating!

  • I’m new to walking (not a runner lol), so still learning the hydration aspect. I live on an island so very hot. How do I avoid drinking too much? Usually by mils 3 I need to pee . Also, your breakfast looks very fiber rich, how do you avoid needing to go #2 on a longer run?

  • Thanks Liz for the tips. Another is breathing… as a chronic hyperventilator I know that going into a hyperventilated state in itself can cause nauseousness for me. Slowing down a little and focusing on nose/diaphragm breathing helps me with this, even putting hands on head and pushing the shoulders back a bit for force it more…

  • Your economy is shit. U shouldn’t eat during any of your workouts, also this much muscle is just big setback.
And the fats….OMG those are the thing u should avoid the most

  • I am trying for 1600 meters in 5 minutes.
I mostly run empty stomach in the morning. So should eat carbs like few black grams before run?

  • So I thought you said Ozzy Bites instead of Aussie Bites and I put it into google and got a bunch of pictures of Ozzy Osbourne biting the heads off bats haha

  • Have you ever thought about trying Oat milk over the almond milk? Tastes better in smoothies and it’s better for the environment:)

    Love the videos!

  • Just found your channel really enjoying it. Roasted veggies are the best. We love to roast asparagus with sesame seeds sprinkled on the top. Looking forward to your other videos.

  • Are you concerned about loosing muscle gains with to much cardio? Because it’s difficult to balance 1 LBS muscle gain, and 1LBS of body fat loss, while your weight remains the same. To get that Spider-Man body look.

  • I’m obsessed with roasted vegetables. My favorites are broccoli, cauliflower and beets. I add garlic powder to the broccoli and cauliflower.

  • Do u guys do a subscription to your supplements? I wouldn’t mind paying something every month as long as I ensure I get my supplements every so often. Like strong greens / pre-workout. I use those up quicker and protein. Would like to get that every month automatically.

  • I noticed you used the “fork” lookin’ attachment on your massage gun. I’ve never tried that attachment. Do you prefer it? Why? And where do you use it? Everywhere on your legs or only certain spots?

  • I love these videos of yours! I realized you eat a lot during the day…I probably need to do that so I don’t binge at dinner! haha

  • I modified those English muffins. Add butter after they toast, then throw on maple almond butter and blackberry jam. it’s great! (add honey on top of all of that if you want extra carbs)

  • My daughter is training for her first half marathon and has been trying to research what to eat so this video really helped thank.you

  • Wow, I stopped watching it after 15 min. All those things are expensive so maintain. Not for an average person. Too much promotion.

  • Can u do a video in your marathon series about your playlist? Or do u have any music recommendations? I know it’s personal but I think it would be a fun video!

  • What type of maca did you use? I want to use maca for balancing hormones as wellbut when i went to the grocery store they all said it can cause birth defects and scared me.

  • Breakfast, to me, is essential. Why on earth should we omit breakfast before running if we do eat it on a daily basis WITH NO running?
The best treatment I ever found is on McMillan’s website. He explains specific situation where eating breakfast is mandatory (i.e. intervals/repeats, pace stepping-up long runs, etc.), and other ones i.e. steady long runs where it could be omitted.
Sugar is also far from being the best choice as a nutrient in advanced marathoning. Cereal crackers or so, 1 to 1,5 hrs before training, will work best (IMHO). As a ruler of thumb, I used to eat 1 or two bananas when 21 km distance is overcome, prior to continuing my way. Thanks!

  • 7:44 pace for 12 miles and thats a chill run I was over the moon when I ran 1 mile in 7:30. Definitely inspirational though. Nice work!

  • Looks so good! I’ve been trying out maca as well. I noticed you don’t eat a lot of fresh fruit. (I know you had a smoothie but based on your other videos you don’t have those often) Is that just something you’re personally not a big fan of?

  • If you like naan bread as much as I do, then I can guarantee you will like peshwari naan because it is made with coconut and sultanas. It is absolutely the most beautiful food you can ever taste, especially if you eat Indian food

  • 7:44 pace for 12 miles and thats a chill run I was over the moon when I ran 1 mile in 7:30. Definitely inspirational though. Nice work!

  • Went here for some inspiration regarding healthy food.

It’s basically just a long ad for his product line. Didn’t expect the buttwipes. Lol.

    I’m out.

  • I literally am thinking of getting back to running a lot and have always known that you need a bite before the jog. So searched marathon and found this channel. So far not bad. Some meals and smoothie ideas I like. The coconut rubbing of veggies is a good idea.

  • Man, I wish the weather in Maine was decent at least half the year so I could consistently get my miles in, but running on snow and ice is almost always a nightmare. Almost as bad as a dreadmill.

  • I’m such a coffee addict that when you said “this morning is a little different, instead of having water and coffee I’m just having..” and I went “coffee” but then you said water and I was like “oh, right” obsessed with your what I eat videos!!!

  • I love lunches that are super random it’s nice to switch it up even if it is just a combination of things you eat all the time (if that makes sense lol)

  • I know it’s a bit not related to this video but I just wanted to get your opinion on bikini competition as a sport and counting macros as a way of every day eating
I personally think that striving for that perfect body shape is related to bad body image and along the line with eating disorders
I have been strangling with anorexia for almost 30 years and I kind of sense a lot of similarities
    What do you think?

  • Ok I always do this and I thought I was so strange haha. I LOVE peanut butter and jelly so as a healthier substitute I always put nut butter on greek yoghurt with some sugar free jam or berries with a little bit of honey. It’s SO good and hit’s the spot for peanut butter jelly cravings! Good luck marathon training! xx

  • Thank you for this videos. I´ve been dealing with food and I used to staved myself  (I´m still fighting with that and with weight,)and your videos are so realistic that help us with portions. Thank you.  I was wondering how many calories do I need if I´m a 27 year old female and my weight is 53 kg?Thank you again sweety

  • Love this video. This is the first time I’ve seen someone else mention fructose as something that can cause GI distress. That’s something I’ve been struggling with lately.

  • Thanks for the videos, always interesting and informative. Shot blox are “synthetic food” but gummies are natural. LOLZ. I like dried fruit which has a bit of protein and lots of carbs.

  • All of this food looks amaaaaaazing. And so easy to do! One of my favorite things lately is spicing up our sweet potatoes with the Mrs Dash seasoning you’ve talked about!

  • Dude I don’t know how you run the distance and pace at your size. Holy shit! I’m up to about 4-6 miles, and I can’t get much lower then 830/mi. Well done!

  • Man I’ve been following you for about 5 years now. Can’t believe how much you have grown on YouTube and your professional life. Keep it up bro!

  • Hi bec when u bake your herbs your better putting them in when theres only about 10 minutes left otherwise you may notice they burn easily

  • I just cannot comprehend who the audience is for these videos. I have followed you for such a long time. I admire every goal you’ve achieved and what you stand for. But honestly how many of us have the TIME to put this detailed effort. You are a millionaire. We do not have a frozen lacrosse ball, a machine that massages our quads, endless pockets that buy the best nutrients. Love this content. Make some content for the busy SGT or 2LT.

  • i dont get the people that do 1punchman challange it says do only 10km per day and nick says he does 25km per day 6 days a week…. why do all the other youtubers have a huge problem with that run

  • Please go easy on the ads. First five minutes of the video is just ads about your company and Dollar Shave club. Takes too long to get to the actual content.

  • Every tummy is different, but I like pizza for dinner and leftover pizza for breakfast before a really long run. Needs to be about 90 minutes between eating and running for me though.

  • I wish I could recall their names, but there were / are old school famous runners & authors who used to load up on carbs but now they say it’s bad and they all have diabetes from having carbed-up all those years as runners. Anyway, this alternative opinion is out there if you care to find it. I’ve also heard of runners taking MCT oil just before running for energy.

  • Helloo I’m a marathoner and one of the main issues that I suffer from is what should use (gels) that dont help candida to Grow again (cz I’m on a treatment) Thank you

  • Great information. Thank you. I always prefer running on an empty stomach as any food I eat just seems to sit there for a while and make me feel heavy.

  • Thanks for the awesome video!  Someone suggested anti-diarrhea meds (e.g. Imodium)pre-race to avoid the trots/need to go. Good idea or bad? I’ve tried it for the two marathons I’ve run and haven’t had GI issues during the race. Bonked both times around mile 21, though, so wondering if they had anything to do with it.

  • Just found your channel pretty recently and loving it. Where is your water cup from? It’s super cute!! Looking forward to binging on your what I eat videos

  • COVID might actually save this guy if his race gets canceled. I wish he’d read his comments. If you really want to qualify for Boston, you need to restructure your training plan. You’re doing a 20 mile run only weeks after your last marathon. That’s not going to work. No coach would allow you to do that if they have any bit of a clue.

  • i dont get the people that do 1punchman challange it says do only 10km per day and nick says he does 25km per day 6 days a week…. why do all the other youtubers have a huge problem with that run

  • Thank you so much for being one of the most realistic “What I Eat in a Day” Videos out there! You promote no measuring, and intuitive eating, I love it and it’s something I have found hard to do (i.e: not weighing/measuring) but I love how you are so carefree with food in your videos!

  • Man, I wish the weather in Maine was decent at least half the year so I could consistently get my miles in, but running on snow and ice is almost always a nightmare. Almost as bad as a dreadmill.

  • Currently 9 weeks pregnant and food is my worst enemy but this video satisfies my cravings lol keep up the good work your my favorite YouTube! My husband and I love Rosie too❤

  • Great subject. Thanks for the info. I always run on empty first thing in the morning and often feel sluggish and my pace is around 6min/kms. I will experiment with maybe eating some fruit before I head out and see if that improves both my energy and performance. Btw Mikkel, do you drink coffee??

  • First off I don’t like the music in the background lol. I have ran over 40 marathons with ten Bostons in a row and I have found that for me eating prior to running is the way to go. I feel that I need the carbs to help me run my fastest. For a marathon I eat, then take 4 gels, one every 40 minutes or so and about 20oz of sports drink per hour during the race. Marathon fueling is different for everyone, you really need the experience of racing to find what works for you.

  • No issue with people using anything, but it’s very misleading when anabolic users claim natural, sets people up for failure and disappointment trying the same thing

  • great detailed video of your eating & training! you do eat a lot of animal protein tho. Try eating more plant/vegan protein..its better for your body:)

  • My compartment syndrome only allows me to run for 30 mins so it doesn’t matter if I eat breakfast is what I got from this. Can’t wait until I can get the surgery so I can go on long runs again.

  • Really enjoy ur vids bro, keep it up,keep up ur outlook on life very motivational.im a firefighter in South Africa am doing bodybuilding as my distress n pleasure, wish we had ur products available here man,God bless stay humble stay hungry

  • Wow, I stopped watching it after 15 min. All those things are expensive so maintain. Not for an average person. Too much promotion.

  • Just ordered 3 tubs of your protein from Virginia so excited to give them a try. Thanks for being so motivating! Do you think in the future you will put together sample pack stacks of your supplements?

  • Greens do nothing. Green tea decaf and ginger tea Bigelow or Yogi brands. That’s all. Read the facts of what those do. Immune system and antibodies. I look younger than both these people and I’m 43. Literally just green tea and ginger each day. Green tea maybe twice decaf. That’s it. That green stuff I’ve bought the purest s#$t before and literally does nothing but make your stomach upset. Hate people who don’t know what there talking about.

  • Maca really does help with endurance n stamina so it’s really good that you’re testing it out. Also try incorporating some Beet juice into your smoothies maybe…I recently started n it did wonders for my energy

  • Looks like he had an incredibly healthy calorie packed whole food smoothie with whey protein and Chia added in the a.m., for lunch meatpotatoes and greens and for dinner a huge delicious solid meal too….with carb drink here or there….Seems like a legit day of eating. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us Nick! Love the looks of that dinner

  • I have a half marathon in April and I’m so nervous about eating so many carbs but I know I need hem for this marathon. After this marathon I am going Keto. I was Keto for five weeks in July and I started eating carbs again and gained the weight back but not bad. I am starting to get back into better shape for this half marathon and I know I need to increase my carbs big time. So scared bough because carbs make me depressedthey literally do. But I need to tell myself it’s fuel for me.

  • Thank you for the calories because I was trying to watch mine and I feel like I’m slower and my body isn’t getting enough fuel to keep going. I don’t use many supplements, hardly any at all except plant based protein.

  • When I feel slush. I eat desert breakfast. Porage banana dehydrated fruit, natural peanut butter, granola. Keep my energy at 100% strong and I hydrate water 1 gallon and other natural juice.

  • Have you ever thought about trying Oat milk over the almond milk? Tastes better in smoothies and it’s better for the environment:)

    Love the videos!

  • Aren’t the fresh herbs the best thing ever?! They pack such a flavor punch compared to store bought.
Love the video and recipe, this is the only way I can eat asparagus. So yummy!

  • Every one of y’all work out ️‍♀️ junkies look old and bad in the face! Muscles don’t matter when your face fucked up

  • I ran 22 miles today on a VERY empty stomach and I didn’t like it very much at all. I didn’t even eat dinner. I know I went over board with the mileage but you live and learn

  • I don’t know how you can justify eating healthy when you are eating whole eggs and whole milk I see a lot of this nonsense on YouTube that’s not healthy eating unfortunately you and the rest of YouTubers may find out the hard way one day with health issues just because it fills you up doesn’t mean it’s healthy and before anyone opens there pie holes I have my on RD and heart doctor and they would disagree with this bring back whole milk, whole egg movement and I think they would know best

  • As a training runner (50 miles a week, and nothing else) I would suggest not stretching for half an hour before. Stretching puts microtears into the muscles and fatigues muscles just slightly so running 16 miles on stretched miles is not ideal. I recommend dynamic warm-up drills or something else

  • Great tip on freezing the baby spinach leaf box. No more throwing away half boxes of slimy spinach. Been doing the freeze since this video, came back to comment, thanks!

  • You’re an animal. Too many ppl complaining about your ads, makes me laugh, and hopefully you too. Great content, from a committed individual. FREE to watch and learn ppl. Keep doin you, I see you.

  • Hi Becca, I recall you mentioning that saturated fats contribute towards heart disease. Aren’t ghee and coconut oil high in saturated fats?

  • @NickBare do wear the knee sleeves for preventative/therapeutic use, or to nurse injury. Appreciate your info, what brand if you can too

  • I often wonder what supplements people are taking along with their diet so thank you for that. I see a lot of people are complaining in the comments ab mentioning the sups too much, but they are just as important as the food people. Maybe if you were on a run instead of hating in the youtube comments, you would be in better shape

  • If you like naan bread as much as I do, then I can guarantee you will like peshwari naan because it is made with coconut and sultanas. It is absolutely the most beautiful food you can ever taste, especially if you eat Indian food

  • Dude I don’t know how you run the distance and pace at your size. Holy shit! I’m up to about 4-6 miles, and I can’t get much lower then 830/mi. Well done!

  • I dont belive how people are blinded by these scam artist who disguise people into buying these artificial food supplements by promoting them via helath & nutirion videos…ranting bout these fake products all in his videos. what a shamble.

  • You probably already have this in mind, but I’d love to see a video on the equipment you use for marathon training (app, trackers, shoes, etc):)

  • Every one of y’all work out ️‍♀️ junkies look old and bad in the face! Muscles don’t matter when your face fucked up

  • great detailed video of your eating & training! you do eat a lot of animal protein tho. Try eating more plant/vegan protein..its better for your body:)

  • i have never tried salmon. i want to but it’s expensive and i’m afraid i’ll hate it. i like fish but not a big tuna fan. does it have a fishy taste?

  • You talk about healthiness but are all those supplements actually healthy?
Healthy means eating natural food (not processed stuff from a package).
    I’m confused

  • I see the africans and their physique and compared to him, he’s too big to be running to get max performance, he probably needs to lose about 35 lbs

  • Youtube fam am I crazy and I am I doing stuff wrong? I run 11 miles with no water or supplements during the run Breakfast cliff bar with a large cup of skim milk, lunch half cup of white rice, dinner two pieces of toast, apple with peanut butter and pulled chicken?

  • Do I need both the strong multi and the strong joint or can I just manage with just the strong joint? I dont have the money for both

  • I like your humble approach because no one has all the answers. You ask 20 people and you will get 20 different answers. Drs don’t know it all. That’s why it’s called a practice. They change their mind every year as to what you should be doing physically, eating, and how to lose weight lol. Great video!

  • How are you doing this?!?!?your a big guy! I run 4 miles a day. I’m 6 ft 1 about 230 lb and I look like a fat ass. I only pound weights once a week.my diet could be better but at the same time you think that 4 miles at night what do something for my waistline.

  • Great video!! Always been curious about this but in terms of long term health any of the chemicals in the pre workouts or pump powder harmful to the body down the road?

  • Warm and humid??? Nooo, that wouldn’t be a perfect run day..for me . I thoroughly dislike humidity..and I live in Georgia. Bwahaha. Nice video! I’m going try that breakfast for sure!!

  • Hey Nick! I have been a subscriber to your channel for a few months and I always wondered where you’re from originally? You sound like you have an Philly accent! Good luck on the training!

  • Do you get over-anxious when you have coffee and then pre workout later in the day? I usually stick to either or. But id love to know what you’d recommend

  • Hey Nick, have you ever thought about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as your next challenge after the Boston Marathon? Jiu-Jitsu is a crazy good workout. You learn self-defense (not that you need this being a former Ranger), learn a new skill/hobby, and it’s a crazy good full-body workout, 3 birds one stone. It would make for a really good new series of videos too.

  • How unhealthy having dogs inside kitchen, they nearly shared your food, as a sporty men, it is not good showing yourself eating next to animals specially dogs saliva full of germs and bacteria, just an advice, welll done for the running

  • Great video!! Always been curious about this but in terms of long term health any of the chemicals in the pre workouts or pump powder harmful to the body down the road?

  • I’m not hating at all but that set off my inner OCD when he said green mission smoothie like 5 times I swear it’s called a green machine smoothie

  • Hey Becca! Your first marathon training video inspired me to get properly fitted for new running shoes! So glad I did, my runs this week have been so much better! Thanks for the encouragement:) Can’t wait to see more of your training series!

  • I just eat a banana 30 mins before going for run in the morning it gives me just enough energy it works for me, after I finish I take a protein shake.

  • When YouTube gives you 2 ads pre vid, and then they start the video with an ad…yeah not even interested in the day of eatin brah.

  • So I’m seeing all you really eat or taking is your supplements and occasionally some pre made food?? I would like to see your wife’s day in the life. A real unedited day in the life of what you eat

  • Hey Nick! I have been a subscriber to your channel for a few months and I always wondered where you’re from originally? You sound like you have an Philly accent! Good luck on the training!

  • Read the comments about looks like he’s losing muscle mass but he’s training for a marathon how many marathon runners do you see who look like body builders None his heart and lungs will be a lot more efficient than a body builder type most of whom that I’ve seen on you tube couldn’t run for a bus and have difficulty in stringing a sentence together without taking a deep breath much better to be fitter with efficient heart and lungs than a bloated roid mess

  • Paper straw, plastic cup. I know I use plastic too but I am just saying I am now realizing how redundant the paper straws really are when paired with a plastic cup and lid. So they must be a money grab somewhere for someone.

  • At first I felt lack of energy when I went for a run on a empty stomach, but after some time I got used to it, my body adapted and now I prefer running in a fasted state. The more important factor is hydration.

  • What kind of milk or “milk” do you normally drink? There are so many!! Dairy, non dairy….looking for lower carb, healthy fat, protein, calcium…preferably not soy. Thanks!!

  • It’s 2020 and people still think they need supplements? How do you think our ancestors lived? They ate nothing but real food and lived a happy healthy life!!! Stop getting scammed

  • Great video and i love the channel. ☺ I agree with all your points especially avoiding dairy. I also avoid the pre race caffeine too because it’s a well documented gut stimulant and was adversely affecting my races. Obviously it doesn’t affect everyone but something to consider.

  • Went here for some inspiration regarding healthy food.

It’s basically just a long ad for his product line. Didn’t expect the buttwipes. Lol.

    I’m out.

  • I would love to see a skinny on sodium! There is some new science about the amount of sodium we should be consuming and I’d love to hear your tale on it. Also how sodium affects our water retention (is it true or just an old wive’s tale?) I just love salt, more so than sugar, but sometimes I feel like I a bit of a wake up call.

  • Man I’ve been following you for about 5 years now. Can’t believe how much you have grown on YouTube and your professional life. Keep it up bro!

  • I experimented not to track calories to have managed food preference. Now I mastered my food choices so I am calculating calories plant based which is 1,600 calories.

  • I like your channel but i think your diet is high in sugar
I think you consume around 40 gram of sugar and the ideal amount for women is 25 gram

  • Greens do nothing. Green tea decaf and ginger tea Bigelow or Yogi brands. That’s all. Read the facts of what those do. Immune system and antibodies. • 1” piece of ginger add a slice of lemon in a cup and top up with water. Can be drunk hot or cold. Great for the stomach, anti bacterial, cleanse the blood and boosts the immune system.

  • I have lower GI issues all the time when I run but have only had one really bad race experience (this year at the SF Marathon) and no porta potty available for what seemed like forever! I do most everything mentioned trying to get it under control. I will definitely give the ginger chews a try!

  • Puffins are such a yummy snack! I have a question if you don’t mind. Why do some salmon nutrition facts have like 4 g of fat while others have like 15 g?

  • I’ve only gone up to half marathon distances, and have no GI issues while running, but I experience debilitating stomach cramps that start about an hour after running and can last up to 24 hours post-race. Anyone else have something like that?. so far I just hydrate, and hit the Motrin and Bentyl (antispasmodic).

  • Some really good tips.
I’m training for ultras, so making sure I can eat while moving is really important. Even on some of my shorter 10-16k runs I will eat regularly.
I have found that a mix of real food and gels/supplements works for me. For my 50 mile training I’m aiming to consume close to 200 cal an hour. An example would be a gel, baby food (Ella’s kitchen) and a bite from a oaty bar. Works perfectly for me:) hope this helps someone

  • I heard and saw studies on tart cherry juice and its positive effects on recovery. DO you think Tart Cherry juice lives up to its hype?

  • Really enjoy ur vids bro, keep it up,keep up ur outlook on life very motivational.im a firefighter in South Africa am doing bodybuilding as my distress n pleasure, wish we had ur products available here man,God bless stay humble stay hungry

  • Hey man, do you eat all organic? what’s your thoughts on that? How do you feel now with a more varied diet compared to being all raw fruitarian previously? cheers

  • Thank you for the tips!! As a fairly new runner I can add, Doterra peppermint oil, their Digestzen oil blend and good quality peppermint tea is excellent for GI issues. I use Pedialyte freezer pops for re-hydration. Doterra oils are great bcs they can be used orally as well, putting on a finger and then transferring to the roof of the mouth is very effective and fast acting.
