  • You can only laugh at someone for so long until you realize they need professional help. This video made me hit that stage, I, I just feel sorry for him.

  • Activate brown fat to lose weight >> Consider a low-fat, high-carb diet ( plant-based diet and fasting )
Although there’s no firm evidence that any specific foods or nutrients can activate brown fat, it’s interesting to note that radiologists—who want to decrease brown fat activity when doing scans of cancer patients, because the heat generated by activated brown fat

makes it harder to see tumor-related activity—routinely recommend that patients eat a high-fat, low-carb diet before scans, on the grounds that this reduces brown fat activation. This suggests that a low-fat, high-carb diet will boost brown fat activity.

one avocado has 400 calories -> you need to run 4 miles to burn 400 calories!…….fuck the Avocados!

  • Ewwww these avocados are disgusting small and bitter. Growing up we used to pick large ones off the tree in Africa and they tasted sugary sweet but the ones I’ve seen in Europe are bitter.

  • Avocado is not an environmental killer. In fact, it helps environment prevent from flooding. It’s just that, it more appropriate to plant it in tropical countries like Philippines. We have thousands or even millions of avocado trees here in the Philippines and yet we are not dried as you.

  • This is why the federal reserve needs to be abolished. Money is pure evil.

This town needs to fight back and burn all those avacado trees during the night. Fuck this large corporations.

  • Greed is a terrible disease. These big conglomerates should make sure that the local small farmers are looked after first! Even to the point of encouraging them as sub-contractors. There is enough to go around for everyone.

  • GREED and Indifference towards creation is the case for all human suffering. We all will suffer for this behavior, even the perpetrators.

  • I never saw Avocado as a demanding fruit, in my city you can find an avocado tree almost everywhere, since there is basically no animal or bird that eats them, they are very cheap.

  • Very interesting video for environmental rights of people and how few callous businessmen are taking away the basic rights of many to make profit.

This is happening all over the world and should be stopped.

Millions can suffer for benefits of few.

Above all, environment must be saved.

  • Spreding hatred, coz its spoiling your business of cheese, fat and beef. Insteed you guys should be showing ways for rain fall. How to make forest.

  • Oh my God, I did not know that! Of course, water belongs to EVERYONE!! and must NEVER be “privatised”= stolen from the people. The same applies for air! Air will be privatised next…it´s a very sick world we are living in. No more avocados from Chile for my household!

  • These people who eat
    Avocados looking-out-
    Of-Shape..fat!! i think
    They are eating too many
    Avocados..quite frankly
    Avocado is tasteless &
i never liked it..i ate it for the 1st time..& stopped eating it

  • It’s the Chilean government are the ones who’s responsible for providing the state a water supply and not to blame in the avocado plantation. Why do they allow that the water can be own privately. It must be for everybody.

  • wake up! the real environmental killer is the human kind. we are a plague. if you want to save the planet, stop reproducing. the title blames the avocado instead. thsi is mesleading.

  • Governments around this world need to take back national responsibility, away from the corporate corpses who for profit are stealing nature abusing and raping our planet, because they have relinquished their home lands and only see the earth as their abuse victim.

  • There’s lots of avocados in our province in the Philippines. We really don’t care much about them. They usually just rot. I guess I’ve been missing lots of business opportunities. This video gave me ideas.

  • It’s institutional failure not private farmers fault. They have invested heavily in that so why we should blame them. It’s the time of the government….

  • Good documentary! Makes me kind of sick to see the spoilt and completely ignorant social media generation are the reason for ruining life for thousands elsewhere, just by eating avocados!

  • Why is it so uncomfortable for them to kiss? Do not be hypocrites, if they were a heterosexual couple, you would surely say that they are charming for kissing. Stop your homophobia.

  • It would be interesting to Investigate what happens when a Water Reservoir is planned: the same complainants start to oppose such projects….
Same people like Rodrigo fight against water reservoirs because that means that solutions will arise and their discurse will como to an end…. the fix is easy, specially due to the terrain that allow for ease of construction of solid water reservoirs upstream rivers in order to contain the winter water in form of snow that melts in summer…..but since Chile is such a narrow country, it endrs in the Pacific…
By the way…Rodrigo has got it entirely wrong: clouds DO NOT form in the skies of Petorca o Llay Llay, they for in the Pacific Ocean and pour over Chile, below the 2500 masl

  • In New Zealand the lowest price for one avocado is $3 each and supermarkets called it special price..
Most avocados gets thrown out because they rot inside supermarkets.
Why not sell them for $1 each? Isnt it better to get some money than throwing them away?
The greed for bigger profits is crumbling societies

  • store owner: let’s put an avocado with the 3000 dirty calories, at least they will have something healthy to eat.

Avocado: Am i a joke to you??

  • So I don’t understand why the crybaby farmer doesn’t simply drill his own water well to water his plants. Maybe his beloved government require a licence? As always the government is the problem.

  • They do not give a crap about poor people and minorities it’s called white privilege and they think everything in this world belongs to them greedy people so sad‍♀️

  • There no way any company should be allowed to set up anywhere and not make sure the people whos enviornments being affected not being shared with or taken care of..PROFITS wont sustain human lives..only a select few? They gotta go..

  • What is the condition now in corona times. No international demand. No chinese will buy avocados in today’s circumstances. They will have to just give up the trees. Karma catching up.

  • The problem is not the avocados.
The problem is not the farmers.

The problem is lack of balance, and the government not caring, and not ensuring equal resources.

To me, it looks like corruption: someone is getting his pockets lined with money in exchange for allowing water to be stolen. This is such a short-sighted and narrow business venture: it’s not sustainable. It’s gonna collapse, either because of boycotts against Chilean avocados, or they run out of water.

Those Schmidts need to learn a lesson from people who have revived desserts by planting diverse vegetation -> rivers can return:-)
And then everyone would be happy!

  • Whats the logic behind it?totally pathetic that dw is showing this catastrophically manner of the society but the fact is Berlin is enjoying and reporting on that..Seriously?

  • I don’t think it is due to the avocados but the greedy people who logged the vast green land & turned it into the arid area. Their environment isn’t in equilibrium anymore, then the lack of water gets so serious & it is more expensive. Blame yourselves greedy people, not the avocados!

  • So this is legal? To starve out whole communities for profits?? So basically Europeans STOLE THIER WATER!! Or better yet thier Government sold thier available water rights to make themselves profits!!

  • Chilean suffering from drought should sabotage those pumps and pipes of avocado plantations, if you are going to die of thirst might as well do some damage. Make it costly for those plantation owners or you attack them directly, throw iron spikes on the road to destroy their truck or car tires or put sugar on their gas tank.

  • I do not like avocados….so I am glad in this case I am not part of the problem with this…. however I am a total mango lover… if they have something going on with them I will boycott…..

  • They need to do permaculture. But all they care about is making maximum profits fast. When the water runs out I guess they’ll move on, like industrial scale nomads. The German farmer anyway. Dunno if the Chilean farmer has a plan.

  • I love Chilean/Mexican avocados. We don’t get them here in Brazil. Import taxes are too high. We have Brazilian ones, but they’re five times the size and I don’t have anyone to share one with. Brazilians don’t use them in salads. They only make smoothies out of them. I wish they’d open an avocado restaurant here, but people would find it too weird.

  • aren’t they lucky that the government didn’t kick them out of their land compared to the way devilish dictators in African countries do

  • The result of intense production for the monetary gain of few. We should try to be less picky and exquisite and consume local products which are in season.

  • Avocado here in the Philippines is a not for export.. we have 4 trees in the village.. no avocado plantation here.. Government is not very supportive on farmers..

  • Now they’re tearing down olive groves to plant avocados in the Iberian Peninsula because they make more money from avocados. They’re wreaking havoc with the native ecosystem because the avocado plants need immense amounts of water and they’re lowering the underground water reserves. It’s another cash crop that is invasive and as destructive as the eucalyptus.
I like avocados but can certainly live without them.

  • the great foods in the hands of the greedy ignorance people!
let ” The Law Of Nature” deal to the people who evil, and those who kindness!
every kind of fruit is the great in their mission!

  • i believe in natural growth, we should never try to change nature to what it is not, and that also means farms for animals. we already have a lot of space, we don’t need any more.

  • Es muy triste que el Gobierno Chileno escoja a una fábrica que a las VIDAS DE LOS CHILENOS, que vergonzoso para el PAÍS CHILENO!!!!!! Bendiciones para todos Dios los cuide

  • Maybe avocado plantation can solve the problem here in the Philippines some places here are submerged in water due to climate change also floods. if avocado trees consumed a big amount of water then maybe this problem can be solved.

  • Why all the resident gets together and resind and do not work for those companies. Whath about distroy the production. Forse them to move out.

  • that area looks dry as hell and not the best place to grow your avocados people there need that water you use to fill your pockets

  • It is nor the fruit… it is the scale of production to meet export demand. The balance among all the players is small, local and big investors is out of whack! The big guys do not appear to care about the impact on the original producers. Its just business and profit to them. Water shortage is of little or no concern to them; they draw it all!
