So we teamed up with registered dietitian Rebecca Lewis, who works in-house at HelloFresh, to bring you the lightest, healthiest items at 10 of our favorite guilty pleasure fast-food joints — all for less than $5. Making a healthy decision when it comes to fast-food restaurants can be hard. Fast food is notoriously high-fat, high-calorie, and greasy—and burgers, a drive-thru staple, are no different. Summarizing 10 days of eating fast food. Yes!

Eating low carb at fast-food chains can be done! The main options are either burgers without a bun or salads. Burgers.

When it comes to burgers, it’s a no-brainer. Burgers ar easy to make low carb if you pick. It wasn’t so long ago when “healthy chain restaurants,” or, more specifically, “healthy fast food,” was considered an oxymoron.

Sure, chains like McDonald’s and Wendy’s have offered salads for quite a while now, but making an effort to be healthy via a few token menu items does not a healthy restaurant make (as they say, you can put lipstick on a pig ). However, in recent years. However, not all fast food is bad for you. In a push to be healthier, many chains are adding low-calorie menu items. We’ve compiled (and alphabetized) a list of healthy fast food lunch options—and by “healthy,” we mean drool-worthy food that’s under 500 calories and has a generous smattering of veggies, greens, and other traditionally healthy. Fast food has a reputation for being unhealthy and high in calories, salt and fat.

Thankfully, there are exceptions. Although many fast foods have been processed, refined or deep-fried, some fast.   • Going to any of these places looking for a healthy option means you lost, turn around and learn to cook. I wouldn’t order any of these things. Because I don’t want grilled chicken or beans only, I want fried food and real meat in there. Note: I cook most of my own food from scratch and only go to fast food places for an occasional treat.

  • At panda express its called Broccoli Beef, not beef broccoli, that’s why it’s mostly broccoli. If you go to a Chinese restaurant, its called beef broccoli.

  • If your hungry for a taco or burrito at Taco Bell, you can ask for nearly any of these with refried beans instead of ground beef. Great source of protein, and a great tip for vegans and vegetarians!

  • Stop demonizing fat! Look at the science, because fats aren’t inherently bad for you. Carbs are inherently bad for you. Protein isn’t inherently bad for you. You can literally live an unhealthy lifestyle with all of the macro nutrients, but I’ll say that if something is high in fat doesn’t mean it’s bad for you solely from that.

  • One of the best “healthy” fast food meals I’ve ever tried came from none other than Jack-In-The-Box, the home of the notorious Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger! Their grilled chicken strips were delicious, even without any sauce, and had only about 250 kCal. I wish they’d bring them back.:-(

    10: fish

  • that is not the way to cook tomato sauce with meat. you should split the meal or make meat ball and cook them inside the tomato sauce, after that you should take of spaghetti from boiling water 1 minute before (al dente) and sti-fry them with tomato sauce.

  • I question those calorie counts. The BK grilled chicken burger has only 150 calories? Most buns alone are 150 calories by themselves.

  • If I’m trying to be healthy while travelling, I almost always go to Wendy’s. I get the broccoli and cheese baked potato, but ask for no cheese and for a packet of chives. Most Wendy’s have hummus and a quinoa/chickpea condiment to top it with. If you’re out of luck, then top it with black pepper and mustard (sounds gross but it’s actually really good). I usually combine that with the side salad and the pomegranate vinaigrette. It’s more than enough food to fill you up, and it costs less than $5. Some Wendy’s have a strawberries and blueberries cup that’s good if you have a fruit craving. Before I was vegetarian I also used to like their chili.

  • My favorite healthy fast food is the teriyaki chicken from Panda. It’s just grilled chicken with teriyaki seasonings and the sauce comes on the side!

  • I work at chick-fil-a and recommend the grilled wrap but ask for it as a veggie wrap it will come with the roasted corn mix and tomatoes. I like our chicken though so I’d still ask for chicken in it.

  • Sis you don’t count the calories you count the carbs because every 4 carbs=1 tsp or tbs of sugar so 40 carbs is 10 tsp or tbs of sugar even if it’s 120 calories.

Extreme diets are a risk for your health, especially ones that seriously limit your everyday nutritionary intake. While they may induce quick weight loss, these diets will never be a long-term solution for your waistline.   • Yeah, I too am guilty of jumping from weight loss plan to others as well, I do believe that I need to have tried every fat loss system that was available, but eventually not one of them made it easier for me to reduce and keep the weight off.   • I didnt care because I never knew. Personally I think we need to incorporate nutrition in our education system so we can learn from young. Talking bout education system, just a thought on what I ate in schools back then makes me feel sick. All this gorengs, mee this mee that, highly processed food, aduhmak. + all the mini stalls outside selling junk foods, cendol, etc. I remember eating them on daily basis and totally explains my weight problem at young age. Now I know, and I’m up for changes for a better me and my next generation ����

  • Don’t count those calories or fat. Fat doesn’t make you fat. Rice and wheat will make you more fat than fat. Sugar makes you fat than fat. Eat healthy fat like coconut virgin oil, clarified butter like ghee, olive oil. Those kinds of fat make you feel full and you won’t snack. Eat more fresh greens. Go ketogenic. I consume lots of healthy fat even in my coffee. My waistline went from 36 to 34 and on the way to 33. I know Malaysian if don’t eat rice they feel like dying. So eat shirataki rice or noodle or konjac. Only 1g of carb and calorie. No need to go to Japan and buy it. There is a Malaysian brand called KURUS.

    Strawberry flavour protein powder [ avold chocolate / coffee flavour ]
    Greek yogurt
    Instand Oats
    30 ml olive oil
    2 pieces of banana
    + optional [ almond or any nuts, peanut butter, any milk, frozen dry fruit ]
    now put then all into a blender machine, and Voila, behold the ultimate high calorie smoothie [ roughly 1500 calarie ]

  • Going to any of these places looking for a healthy option means you lost, turn around and learn to cook. I wouldn’t order any of these things. Because I don’t want grilled chicken or beans only, I want fried food and real meat in there. Note: I cook most of my own food from scratch and only go to fast food places for an occasional treat.
