One of the advantages of food preservatives is you don’t have to worry about the food spoiling quickly before you have a chance to eat it.

Processed foods have additives to increase shelf life and make food more convenient. Additives like nitrites. Fortunately, if you live in the European Union, propylene glycol is not cleared as a general-purpose food grade product or direct food additive.

  • All of this advice is perfect and right on point. I was born with primary lymphedema and wasn’t diagnosed until I was four (4) I’m 50 now. Yes eating healthy and exercising is the best way that I have been able to maintain it and have lived a fun and active life. As a child I had experimental surgery because it was so rare,my family took me to many doctors. 1 included widening of the veins on the tops of my feet which eliminated a lot of the swelling on one side 70% and decreased it by 40% on the other. My legs do still swell, especially around that time of the month. Investing in a good shoes and keeping your feet clean and if you can pedicured. Lotion is A+ good for the skin and for getting massaged. I do my 6 zones and pedi myself. Feeling pampered, especially when you aren’t sure what your legs will look like through the end of day is a blessing. Bottom line eating right will be normal eating. Promise you. Hopes this helps you feel better and stay positive.Stay beautiful and strong.

  • I think that, its okay to have chemicals in our food, because we preserve the environment and well, humans consume anything and everything in large portions, so we save some species. But at the same time…self preservation is also something that is favoured by the general public. As comforting as it is to know that I’m saving the environment, I would also like to make sure, my body isn’t suffering. Texture and taste, all good, but how exactly is my body affected. How does my body break down these chemicals, and what does it do to them! GRAS actually doesn’t make me feel to safe about the food I consume.

    Also half of the food that we consume…we don’t need. Every animal lives simple lives with simple diets…except us! It’s one of those “we did it cause we could….not because we should” kind of things. As much as we love Cheetos, Oreos, Pringles, Doritos, movies popcorn etc. We don’t need them in our diets. We don’t NEED half the crap we eat. And I’m sure if we stick to the essentials…we save a lot, in general, less factories from being built, less unnecessary chemicals in our bodies, less money being spent…so idk. This video did give me some kind of relief that I am more aware of what goes in our food. But consumption…I’m still a bit skeptical about.   • The only thing that really helped me was liposuction. (I am an exceptional healthy eater and used to exercise 4-5 times a week but nothing worked.) Now, 10 kg lighter, I’m feeling much better and even the swelling due to lymphedema decreased

  • Vegetable oils (corn, canola, safflower, sunflower, etc) are PUFA, polyunsaturated Fatty Acids, are the bad long chains. Animal fats and coconut oil and palm oil are short and medium chain. They are good (butter too)

  • Omega 3 fats come from pasture based animals. And mine are NOT skinny. They are huge compared to the squab they sell in the store. They are heritage breeds. They eat bugs and also get a full nutrient pellet and vitamin D and electrolytes in their water.

  • The advice to minimize fats goes contrary to Gillian Szollos’s very high fat ketogenic diet that she has found helpful. Avoiding all the processed foods and sugars is consistent and important. I find that alcohol, sodium and pretty much any carbs trigger my lipedema.

  • I was running late for work. So I made a sandwich with just meat & cheese. I took a bite & immediately thought, I don’t remember putting mayonnaise on my sandwich. It was twangy….   • Artificial banana is the worst, and from what I understand, it’s surprisingly close to the flavor bananas had before Panama disease that almost caused the Gros Michel to go extinct all together. If that’s true, I guess I’m kind of lucky, although I’d never wish the extinction of a food source. Still, I’m a Cavendish guy all the way. Cloned fruit is bananas.

  • Ughghghhhhhh…. Ask the smartest and most creative and industrious people in the world (with the highest IQ, too) about MSG. These are the people in North East Asia (Japan, for examle). They consume MSG A LOT. They seem to be doing just fine, don’t they?! Glutamate occurs naturally in many foods you eat everyday, dumbass!

Many other countries have banned products containing harmful additives we currently use and consume. The next generation will not live as long if we do not change our ways.

It is a smashing one of a kind product for avoiding dialysis and improve kidney health minus the headache.   • Artificial banana is the worst, and from what I understand, it’s surprisingly close to the flavor bananas had before Panama disease that almost caused the Gros Michel to go extinct all together. If that’s true, I guess I’m kind of lucky, although I’d never wish the extinction of a food source. Still, I’m a Cavendish guy all the way. Cloned fruit is bananas.

  • I think that, its okay to have chemicals in our food, because we preserve the environment and well, humans consume anything and everything in large portions, so we save some species. But at the same time…self preservation is also something that is favoured by the general public. As comforting as it is to know that I’m saving the environment, I would also like to make sure, my body isn’t suffering. Texture and taste, all good, but how exactly is my body affected. How does my body break down these chemicals, and what does it do to them! GRAS actually doesn’t make me feel to safe about the food I consume.

    Also half of the food that we consume…we don’t need. Every animal lives simple lives with simple diets…except us! It’s one of those “we did it cause we could….not because we should” kind of things. As much as we love Cheetos, Oreos, Pringles, Doritos, movies popcorn etc. We don’t need them in our diets. We don’t NEED half the crap we eat. And I’m sure if we stick to the essentials…we save a lot, in general, less factories from being built, less unnecessary chemicals in our bodies, less money being spent…so idk. This video did give me some kind of relief that I am more aware of what goes in our food. But consumption…I’m still a bit skeptical about. But great vids., Love them, keep making me smarter cause school isn’t doing their one job…making my dumbass smarter! Love Scishow!!!
