Grilled shrimp tacos with a salsa of fresh mango, avocado, red onion, jalapeño, and lime juice. Photography Credit: Elise Bauer It’s Labor Day weekend.

For the shrimp. 12 ounces of medium size raw shrimp, peeled with the tail off. 1 teaspoon of onion powder. 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. ½ teaspoon of salt. 2 tablespoons of honey.

1 tablespoon of olive oil. 1 tablespoon of sriracha (add more for extra spice) For the mango salsa. Combine tomatoes, mango, avocado, bell pepper, 3 tablespoons lime juice, chile pepper, and sugar in a bowl.

Mix until salsa is evenly combined. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp. To assemble the spicy shrimp tacos, spread a spoonful of cilantro lime sauce on the tortilla, add a handful of shredded red cabbage and place the shrimp on top of the cabbage.

Top with mango salsa, drizzle more sauce over the whole thing and serve. Don’t skip the red cabbage as it adds color and crunch. Your Mango Salsa can be made up to 24 hours ahead of serving your Shrimp Tacos and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Although the Mango Salsa is just a quick chopping of fresh mangos, red bell pepper, red onion, jalapeno, cilantro and a splash of lime juice, sometimes it’s nice not to have any chopping at all come dinner time.

Place the shrimp in a bowl and toss with 2 tablespoons of the dressing; set aside. Roughly chop the remaining 1/2 cup cilantro. Toss with the coleslaw mi.

  • Fresh herbs aren’t supposed to cook with the rest of the ingredients. They lose their flavor. Piput them in when you finish the filling.

  • This looks weird and I’m sure it tastes nasty. My grandma who is from the Yucatán peninsula where the best shrimp tacos are made was upset at how you destroy those vegetables and shrimp and don’t get me started on the guacamole. Major cringe and don’t disrespect avocados like that

  • Isn’t cilantro and coriander from the same plant? Like, leaves and seeds? I get confused because in german it’s both called Koriander.

  • Yall some haters how yall on her video telling her how to cook it how but yall go make yall own video and then comment on that.yal some negative ass people ain’t even taste the shit but yall know how its suppose to b cook everybody cook different damn

  • I just found you love your shows n wow you are an excellent chef/Baker did you attend culinary school.
    Loved your mom/you interact

  • Nice recipe, but I shouldn’t recommend to serve the pineapple core like that. It’s quite hard and tough compared to the rest of the flesh. It’s great for broths or purees though.
    P.S. Love your spice rack

  • I love mango. My mom uses her cast iron skillet to heat the tortillas, but my grandmother would just flip it quickly over her gas eye while it was on low and it would get little burnt char marks that gave the tacos a rustic and earthy sort of flavor. Mmmm.

  • I made these yummy tacos and it tasted divine…. Since I’m a vegetarian, I replaced the shrimps with sweet potato (marinated using the same spices), thanks for the yum recipe

  • Very interesting video! I enjoyed watching and I will look forward to you next video. Keep posting! I just dropped by to show my S U P P 0 R T!:)

  • Great recipe! They are not professionals, THEY ARE regular real people… Thank you for sharing it, it was sooo yoummy. Sooo many color, yum…

  • Hey i have the same wooden bowl you were making guacamole in. I don’t cook with it i just serve chips in it or keep my fruit in it like a fruit basket.

  • Johnny, I stopped eating shrimp, catfish, lobster, scallops and other such protein sources in 2009. I must confess this video brought back more childhood recipes. I am from Cali but I have Caribbean heritage and southern. I had the best of both worlds 😉 You must come to Las Vegas and teach these chefs how to throw down!!! Great job as usual 😉

  • hmmmmmmmmmm…………..good!! I’m catching up!!! Actually I hope I never catch up. Because I always have something yummy to look forward to!!!

  • Looks fantastic Jonny. I really liked that mango salsa. My wife Karen makes a salsa very similar to that when we do fish tacos. Keep up the great work buddy!!! Thumbs Up!!!

  • Jonny! I love shrimp tacos! Can’t wait to try this, along with the mango salsa. When you were cutting the avocado with that huge knife, I was freaking out! Lol!

  • Jonny, your shrimp tacos look delicious.  Love shrimp and the mango salsa just adds something special.  Thanks for sharing.  Have a great afternoon.  Lynn

  • Like the salsa stuff or whatever you call it but shrimp does not have take 10 minutes to cook 4 minutes is good cooking shrimp that long is overcooked

  • For the tortillas I like to use the oil left over from the shrimp or grease and heat up the tortilla on the pan it taste bomb it gives it a nice taste so you don’t have to put them in the oven.

  • Tatyana… that is an excellent Mexican shimp taco recepi. Many of the ingredients are authentic and is what you would see in a Mexican restaurant. Also, it is a very heathy and nutricious recepi. Lots of veggies and fruit…. That is why i say it is an excellent recepi. Keep it up with the great videos… Sincerely, Mexican fan from L.A California..

  • Talking about devaining the shrimp, doing that bothers me, as well! I can’t eat crawfish at crawfish boils because cracking them open makes me cry, even though I like the taste. If it were easier to be a vegetarian, I would, but it’s too much to keep track of when processed meat is so readily avaliable!

  • The only thing better is mixing the creme with the purple cabbage one hour before assembling tacos.Trust me… makes all the difference! Also squeeze more fresh lime on assembled
