Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie | A Sweet Pea Chef

Video taken from the channel: A Sweet Pea Chef

Ingredients. 1 medium banana, peeled and frozen. 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) 1 ½ Tbsp. nut or seed butter of choice. 1/2 cup unsweetened almond*, coconut milk or water.

1/2 cup canned coconut milk or full-fat yogurt –> not dairy-free. Stir it into low fat ricotta cheese for a lighter alternative to ice cream. Or, try my Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie as a perfect mid-day or post-workout snack. Just one serving provides 5 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein for just 126 calories.

Your straw is waiting. 1/2 Banana. 1/2 cup Peach, pitted.

1/2 cup Pineapple, fresh. 1/4 cup Pumpkin Puree, canned. 1 1/2 cup Almond Milk, unsweetened.

1 tbsp Superfood Essentials Vanilla Plant-Based Protein. 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, ground. 1/2 tsp Allspice, ground.

1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt. 2/3 cup pumpkin puree. 1/2 cup milk (any kind; add more or less for desired consistency) 1 scoop vanilla protein powder.

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. 3 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar (can add more if desired). Notes. *I used LeanFit Complete Green Protein, which is a plant-based protein powder. **I made a DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice using: 1 tsp ground cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground ginger, 1/8 tsp ground allspice, and 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg.

This smoothie has 14 grams of protein per serving. This healthy pumpkin pie protein smoothie is so rich, filling, and velvety similar to the real thing! For the glass version I just topped the smoothie with a big scoop of dairy-free coconut whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon to mimic a nice big slice of pumpkin pie.

1 heaping scoop Vanilla Primal Fuel. Instructions. Place all ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth.

Drink. by. To make a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie, simply toss all of the ingredients – pure pumpkin puree, banana, ice, vanilla yogurt, milk, and a bit of pumpkin pie spice and agave or honey – into your blender and pulse until smooth. I add ice to my Pumpkin Pie Smoothie recipe to.

Each serving of this pumpkin protein smoothie provides 15 grams of protein, making it an excellent source of plant-based protein. This is thanks to the low-fat milk and almond butter. You don’t need any Greek yogurt, almond milk, or vanilla protein powder to.

With 21 grams of protein per serving and just 1 gram of naturallyoccurring sugar, it doesn’t need much dressing up in the form of a smoothie, but some fresh or frozen fruit and nut milk might make it go down easier.

  • Is there any substitute I can use besides protein powder? I’m not a huge fan of using the stuff, haha! So, is there any natural supplement that I can use?

  • So this looks really good, I’m a huge pumpkin pie lover and to be able to have a healthier version of it? <3 Can't wait to try it out!

  • Mother of Zeus. This recipe kills it. Please promise me more pumpkin recipes are coming this fall. I can’t get enough pumpkin anytime of the year. I literally have to leave my house so I don’t keep making these.

  • the 1 cup of pure pumpkin was a little strong for me. I used a half of a cup instead on the fourth time I made it as I tried to perfect it. A half a cup was really good.

  • This is fantastic! My sorority is a huge fan of Pumpkin flavor. This will be all over our facebook group. Thanks so much for the great ideas.:)

  • My absolute favorite thing about Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie. It’s blowing my mind to realize this shake recipe is super easy to make, tastes just like the real thing, can be made year round, and is actually healthy for me. I’m going to need to stock up on canned pumpkin.

  • Hey porkfat! I put the blender I recommend in the description. For the price ($60 shipped) you won’t beat the quality. 600 watts too!

  • The grocery shopping sounds excellent as your food keeps health and macros in mind.

I’d say workouts, but there’s already a ton of that on other fitness youtube channels, so something that would make you niche so to speak.

As for cooking videos, do go into the more savory stuff, the meats and whole meals.

Perhaps personal videos it’s solely up to you, on why you started this lifestyle, how it’s wholly affected you and those around, your tattoos, I for one would be genuinely interested.

  • You’re like my hero!! I’ve loved BVB for ages and over the past few years have started eating cleaner and getting into fitness. The fact that you’re doing the same and helping encouraging others too as well makes me so happy. I love this channel and will DEFINITELY be making some of your recipes!:D

  • You should really change where you’re pointing at when you ask us to subscribe lol it’s actually on YOUR bottom right, just below the facebook and instagram watermark on your videos. Good video again!

  • I’ve heard about Fitocracy but haven’t really looked into it, I’ll definitely check it out. You have no idea how much I appreciate you doing that. Thank you so much!

  • What type of protein powder was used? Vega One Vanilla? I am going to try this w/ Vanilla Coconut Milk and Optimum Nutrition Egg Vanilla Custard protein.

  • Just tried this man, once again you always come through! This was an awesome shake! I try to advertise your videos on the website Fitocracy all the time (if you haven’t checked it out it is an AWESOME website for fitness) hoping that you get more views man, you deserve it!

  • I enjoy all the cooks. I love pumpkin recipes. We both love pumpkin. I need these a lot. Thank you. I live in Eureka Calif. Humboldt county and we have HealthSport gym. I love working out a lot. 5 star.

  • hey i tried your cake bar recipe and the brownies came out a bit tough. should i use half a cup of oats and add in more chocolate chips?

  • lol the ice was blended up like your video and it tasted fine cool maybe it was just me but i had to dump 1/3 of it down cuz it got to [room temp] like and i used MTS MACHINE WHEY

  • Hey!
I’m having a mild allergic reaction to the protein powder I bought. (Never have been allergic to anything in my life.) Which powder do you recommend?

  • When I mean meals, I don’t mean ‘basic’ cooking like proper well thought out dishes, healthy takes on say a bean mix, tacos, cheese etc or theme’d healthy foods; japan, chinese, mexican, italian, the list goes on. (playlist galore!)

I do want you to grow as a channel, the stuff you make really does make me wanna bake and try it out. Though it seems the variety has died down a little.:) I also appreciate you answering individuals and don’t take my ‘feedback’ as negative, just my 2 cents!

  • Awesome! I cannot wait to try this. I love pumpkin pie anything. I can eat a whole pumpkin pie myself lol. (Not recommended haha)
Back before I bought protien powder, I use to use milk, peanut butter, bannanas, and ice for a “semi-portein shake” if you will.

  • Hi Joshua! I really appreciate your feedback. This video and the others I have edited so far I’ve cut the fast forward music in half and only put it on the clips that are over 1.5 seconds long so there is definitely less of it. Let me know if it helps at all. If you could offer any other suggestion for the silence I’d be open to it as well. I bought a smaller camera to do some fitness stuff/thoughts on the day/grocery shopping so that stuff is coming soon. What else were you thinking?

  • Hey dhfns i think the protien cake is still the best im going to try this. Though i found a great recipe you can make a video on. All you do is make the cake but only cook it so its cooked 3/4 of the way then what u do is u take a spoon and mash the cake real well. then make some instant sugar free chocolate. Layer it so its pudding then the cake then more pudding add some whip cream on top and omg is it good. and the pudding is real low on calories so its still healthy.

  • I really admire your videos and actually try out 3-4 recipes per weekend.

I’m still holding my thoughts on the speed up music, I’m not sure if it’s me but I find it really cheesy and lowers the ‘quality’ of the video as in it bothers me that much to post about it.

Once again, great video have you perhaps thought of doing other non-cooking videos?

  • Awesome suggestions! Will definitely incorporate some of these ideas in the near future (wish I had a recipe for more time but we’ll get there!). Thanks Joshua

  • Honestly, you’re protein shake videos are awesome and pretty much a life saver. Even though I always substitute the almond milk for regular or nonfat milk. Maybe you should post the nutrient facts without the milk in it, just because most people probably do substitute it for something else. I know it’d be helpful for me, but it’s just an idea. Either way, pleasee keep the videos coming!

  • I’ve been researching protein shakes for an upcoming bariatric surgery. Your shake ideas look great and I can’t wait to incorporate these recipes into my weight loss and I look forward to trying them and sharing them with my brother-in-law who is having his surgery close to the same time.:)

  • Thanks Ervin! I’m actually talking about the ending screen on my videos. Maybe I should point in both directions? Haha! Thanks for the comment. I’ve had a lot of people ask me for protein shake recipes and although they are fairly common they only take me a few hours to make (with editing) so I figured it couldn’t hurt to make a protein shake playlist on here since they are short videos anyways! I’ll put at least one of these up a week a long with my other recipes.

  • Love this video! Thanks for the tips!! The pumpkin protein shake is fantastic:) I just published my first protein shake book and I would appreciate it if you would take a look at it and if you are feeling extra generous, leave a review:) Here it is:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O13NFRM

  • This smoothie is fucking awesome!! Pumpkin pie is my favorite pie too ((pumpkin is my favorite flavor)) so this was right up my alley!! lol thanks, Jake.. my new favorite protein smoothie.. and chocolate is definitely what I struggle with.. I need to lose weight and get back in shape like I used to be.. having kids killed my body..

  • Jake that does sound really really good how about u make me some lol since u say it gets better everytime u make it:P love u jake

  • You said that if we don’t have any of that whey protein then we could use vanilla, but how much vanilla should be used? A teaspoon, maybe?

  • Awww man!!!!! q you made me drool here!…..anyway! Dude! If you have a xbox live, one,or 360…..try to play the game shape up with the whole band!!!!:D I swear!! It’ll help ya with the work out! Just do it!!!

  • looks super good jake! I would make the shit outta that if I wasn’t living in a dorm with no blender:/ ill just stick to my chocolate protein powder in almond milk:) can’t wait for some workout vids! im currently mostly a long distance runner but hoping to incorporate some strength stuff I can work in my dorm! would love to see some gym-free strength training exercises:)

  • What brand if you don’t mind me asking? I like Healthy N Fit (I link it in my description) but I also like Vitacost brand whey (sweetened with stevia), Optimum Nutrition is great, BSN stuff, and a few others. If you have a preference (flavor/vegan/type of protein) I could point you in a better direction. Let me know!

  • Amazing. Told some folks, including teachers and students, to subscribe and watch. I’m actually planning on taking some when doing my daily workout. The smoothie looks good.

  • Thanks Dominic! Appreciate the kind words. I’ve been thinking about doing something like that for most of my recipes (with the less common ingredients). We’ll see if I can eventually factor it in!

  • Awesome vid Jake! Do you use gainer? Are you planning to make videos about like detailed workouts? It’ll be awesome if we all started doing the same thing the same way, kudos to you!

  • Mimi I think youre right she shook her head when saying its delicious lol she didnt like it. I made the shake myself and its ok but ill keep making it since its healthy

  • Need to try this need to try lose some weight not easy when you need to take steroids for an illness but need to try thank you jake:)

  • This looks awesome. It looks like it makes a lot! Looks like 2 servings? Also, if I don’t have protein powder, any other suggestions for adding extra protein?
