BEST SUPERFOODS AND SUPPLEMENTS FOR WEIGHT LOSS + A VEGAN DIET!

Video taken from the channel: Yovana Mendoza

Healthy eating in November (and December) can be a true test of willpower. First, there’s leftover (and half-priced) Halloween candy to contend with. There’s the approaching Thanksgiving feast to plan for, not to mention the beginning of the holiday party circuit, with too many finger foods and celebratory toasts, and a seemingly-endless supply. We always keep talking about various foods and their health benefits.

We talk about this to an extent that might even sound obsessive at times. Eat spinach for strength (flashback to popeye), eat nuts for a better memory, drink milk for stronger bone. Cranberries come into season in mid-November, just in time for the holidays. But don’t limit your consumption of these to some high-sugar gelatinous sauce.

Toss them raw onto a salad, using lemon juice to contrast the tartness. Also use them with oranges and other fruits topped with a bit of local honey as a oatmeal topping in the morning. Superfoods are usually classed as those high in antioxidants – molecules which prevent oxidization and can prevent damage to healthy cells.

But these 11 super-superfoods all have additional benefits, and are tasty to boot! So have a read, then hit your local health food store, market or supermarket to stock up. 15 Best Superfoods for Fall • Full of antioxidants • 4 grams of dietary fiber per serving Harvest season: August-November Try this recipe: Apple and Gorgonzola Salad With • 1/2 cup contains more than your DRI of vitamin K • Very good source of folate • Good source of iron Harvest seaso.

Legumes, or pulses, are a class of plant foods made up of beans (including soy), lentils, peas, peanuts and alfalfa. They earn the superfood label because they’re loaded with nutrients and play a. Brussel Sprouts. Cabbage. Carrots. For years, people have touted the powers of superfoods. Thought to benefit your overall well-being, these foods have been linked to a sharper mind, clearer skin, a healthier immune system, and more.

According to Dianna Sinni, R.D., L.D., wellness dietitian and blogger at Chard in Charge, superfoods aren’t all that different from plain ol’ healthy foods. • You composed a great video. There’s not too many young females who have this knowledge and incorporate it as well, I would definitely like to see you make more videos like this, thanks!!☮

  • There is a warning on the label of this product that states there are chemicals in it that can cause cancer glad I read that before I bought it

  • Very high Oxalate, Yikes, not all athletes are loading on Oxalate rich carbs as the body makes its own carbs, for a different perspective https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv_k57NENK8&t=6s

  • Sautee some muscles in a garlic and blueberry pure sauce wilit in some fresh spinach and shredded kale then for some crunch and acidity to cut the sweetness top with thin strips of dehydrated kiwi.

  • I followed her to the core when she was raw vegan. When she went vegan with cooked food I stopped following. So did she not do enough research regarding raw vegan to change her mind. She would rave that it was the best and how she would never go back nor need to ever eat cooked food. Whatever she has found she’s totally 110% for it and tries to convince the world to do it. Until she finds something else in a few yrs that she will convince u to do as well and that it’s better then her cooked vegan. She’s clearly not happy. Clearly not reliable, and not committed to one thing. She never took vitamins ever before she said we didn’t need it. Such a fake. Frustrating. She fluctuates with the wind

  • Eggs???? Seriously!? A
Chickens period that is filled with saturated fat and cholesterol. You can get more protein and a lot more nutrition from whole plant foods that didn’t pass through a chickens A-hole and actually have fiber. And milk? What century is this from. IGF-1, antibiotics, estrogen, mammalian hormones, lactose intolerance???!!! Calcium and vitamin D? Ever herd of kale or spinach?! And just for the record, animals weren’t put here for us to abuse. All athletic pursuits can be accomplished without hurting ourselves, animals, other people, and the environment. But this is only my scientifically proven opinion based on actual meta analysis research. Not just some regurgitated bro science from the 1990’s.

  • Here is a superfood most places in the wild even your lawn-pine tree tea, see how nutritious. There are many on youtube, I found this guy, The Outsider who had a nice video, it is soooo health and most folks have an arborvitae growing in their garden or white pine and all you need is a handful of needles for a cup of tea, use raw honey if you need. Keep sharing, love all the tips. Blessings. ps-this tea is not for pregnant ladies or not sure about nursing, but check it out. I guess it is best to just figure out the minimum you need and eat real food or you could go broke doing this along with gardening and composting.

  • Rich Roll, could you please ask Darin to ship Barukas supernut to Europe?:)
By the way very awesome podcast! Darin is so awesome! As always, super quality content. Thank you, Rich!

  • also I don’t take any kind of caffeine I don’t need a drug to wake me up in the morning or whenever I wake up also I don’t take any kind of caffeine I don’t need a drug to wake me up in the morning or whenever I take natural stuff like they superbeets fruit vegetable drinks a vitamin drink vitamin A D E B12. And all the B vitamins all that stuff! And a lot more! like Super Beta Prostate the number one product on the market and the best it’s got antioxidants in there all kinds of vitamins and minerals and over 200 plant base supplements are in it too!

  • Yes it’s good idea to take plant food basic supplements! I take a lot of them myself. But not all vitamins are made out of plant food basic supplements!

  • Are you liberal did you vote for Hitler Hillary or The Osama? And are you for legalizing marijuana and do you smoke it? Do you mix it with your food recipes?

  • I got a question if you take, eat, drink, hemp or whatever form you want to take it in! If you were given a blood or urine test will it come back like you got marijuana in your bloodstream or urine? Or THC if they test for televised in your urine and blood? How will it come back in your blood or urine?

  • Anthony Bourdain’s mental health problems came from is drug addiction. The drugs that he did brought on brain damage. It cannot be controlled. Rich is off the mark in this regard. Shifting to the nuts, wouldn’t planting these trees create a monoculture?

  • have you seen the label to SUNFOOD brands? it clearly states in the back “This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm.”

  • I never got on with Sun supplements… I ended up going for Exceed by Nutral. Strawberries and whipped cream is by far the best flavour. Check it out here https://nutral.co.uk/yt/exceed

  • Please cite your sources and your credentials for giving medical information to the General Public. Thank you, Elizabeth MD PhD specialized nutritional science

  • Old African American remedies our grandparents used! It’s funny that people are just realizing how great these foods are!! NEVER BEEN A SECRET LOL

  • I won’t drink milk after I seen how the facilities are Terry nothing cow poop going into that cow milk and I’m going to be okay with almond milk. I’m not drinking cow poop milk

  • You know, you dont need superfood to live superhealthy. Eat kale, sprouts, garlic and green leaf and you will be just fine. I just don’t get it. What is in the Superfood that is not in vegetables? There is also alot of nutrition doctors and science speaking against these supplements and they say it can be dangerous to eat it because of the high protein levels in them. I am a fan of researching on something before spending alot of money on it. I would love to read the health effects about it from a legit source, if you could link me a page or two?

  • HI, Rawvana I was wondering have you made any research about caragennan in organic and vegan products according to the food babe it may be a carcinogen but it seems to not be enough research…….

  • I love the acorn ornaments thanks for sharing!  Loving your videos.  I wish there was a way for you to get more subbies because you’re great!!!  Hope you keep doing vids for a long time!  I can’t wait to try the Almond Nog & waffles!  Thanks!  Priscilla: )

  • OMGYou have SOOO many of them!!! In my country there is only like spirulina and chlorelaBut spirulina is the best, so i am fine

  • My cousin told me about the “sowo hope site” (Google it). With almost no time, I dropped 16 pounds. This diet program works for everybody. Anyone who wants to shed some serious excess fat without doing harm to the body just has to try “sowo hope site”. Google it right now!

  • I literally got an ad with this video and skipped by accident.. I ended up searching for 20mins tryna find it again!! Thankfully I just did. Much love and thank you so much!!!

  • Hi Rawvana, what do you think about B12. I decided to don’t take any supplement, I think everything is in nature, but some vegans take B12 vitamin, am I wrong to make this choice?
There is B12 in Sperulina, and I consume a lot of this superfood.
Tell me what do you think.
I’m one of your biggest fan, kiss from Paris!

  • My friend laughed when I told them I was going to become slimmer with just using Fenoboci Diet Plan, but after I showed these people incredible effects right after I used it they’re begging me to tell them about it. Of course I won’t tell them the details about this diet plan, hahaha

  • I know this has nothing to do with the video! But.. I was on your website and was reading your about me, I emailed you but didn’t hear back yet. Just interested in how you are traveling when you quit your job! I am so jealous! I want to travel the world but it’s expensive!

  • Wow a lot of supplements. Just letting you know, the Garden of Life Perfect Food isn’t vegan. The probiotics in it are cultured with dairy.

  • I’m not that a lot of the “superfoods”, unless they’re Ayurvedic herbs and mushrooms like astragalus, ashwaganda, tulsi, reishi, maitake and chaga.

  • I won’t drink milk after I seen how the facilities are Terry nothing cow poop going into that cow milk and I’m going to be okay with almond milk. I’m not drinking cow poop milk

  • All raw meat and animal products is best to heal everything. Plants are not human food. Humans are obligate carnivores and should not be eating plants at all. “Barry Groves, homo carnivorus, what we are designed to eat” video explains the fact that ALL HUMANS are carnivores and NOT to eat plants. These plants being recommended are not to be ingested for the human being. Eating what we’re designed to eat restores most all ailments and no need for vitamin suppliments at all. All raw fatty beef, liver, eggs, milk is a perfect diet with no plants will restore anyone health to a normal state virtually no matter what you have, even Lyme disease. No joke

  • Not sure on the milk. Populations who consume the most milk have higher levels of low bone density in the elderly. Also bovine growth hormone and growth factors have been linked to many health issues.

  • The really real superfoods are those you grow yourself or buy from local producers, and use creativity to prepare.. Some of my favourite: homemade blackcurrant juice with added white sugar(or other sweetener) is amazing. homegrown tomatoes in abundance, purple, yellow, white potatoes, beets, squach, greens, herbs, applepie, etc. suuperfoods

  • He has a stethoscope he must be legit. This guy is a total VEGAN Nazi. We don’t convert plants as well as animals, it’s just a fact.so eat your veggies with a nice piece of liver and you’ll be much better off.

  • Who else felt a sort of “oooooo” feeling when milk and eggs were listed!? I eat/ drink them daily btw… just goes to show how much the constant social media presence of those incredibly “aggressive” vegans sub conciously affects us (me if i was the only one lol). Crazy:o

  • I got this ad and really had to come here and say do your goddamm research viewers. I have never heard of such bullshit before. Bunch of buzzwords and unproven statements preying on your scientific illiteracy. Do you research. Go read these “studies” and make your own logical interpretations.

  • From where I come from super foods and supplements are really expensive and I’m very much broke because my parents won’t buy me anything:( My diet is really low on protein and high on carbs and fats

  • I never got on with Sun supplements… I ended up going for Exceed by Nutral. Strawberries and whipped cream is by far the best flavour. Check it out here https://nutral.co.uk/yt/exceed

  • have you seen the label to SUNFOOD brands? it clearly states in the back “This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm.”

  • I really need to learn to shut up. Since the early ’70s in Brazil small multi-crop farmers have been sometimes ruthlessly murdered by big interests in monocultures and their land appropriated, and as is going on in Chile now, water diverted etc.; the divide between rich and poor has been notorious in Brasil since before the CiA assassinated Allende in Chile, who was nothing like Chavez in Venuasala (crap spelling again). So much concern about the middle east but the US has been complicit for decades and decades in propping up military juntas etc. and everyone cheers when Sting and Peter Gabriel go to places like Argentina on behalf of the disappeared but essentially no-one really lifts a finger or gives a damn. Not so long ago in the streets of Rio and Sao Paulo privileged wealthy young guys would drive into the parts of the city where the dispossessed lived and simply gun down homeless people with impunity. This information is mainstream and the reason why I don’t see the Indiana Jones aspect of this world traveller as romantic.

  • Old African American remedies our grandparents used! It’s funny that people are just realizing how great these foods are!! NEVER BEEN A SECRET LOL

  • You composed a great video. There’s not too many young females who have this knowledge and incorporate it as well, I would definitely like to see you make more videos like this, thanks!!☮

  • It would have been beneficial for us to know where you got your information from. In terms of milk in particular, I cannot find any non-industry funded research that shows milk is beneficial (I’m sure there are some). The only research I can find shows that milk is actually detrimental to bone health, i.e increased risk for developing osteoporosis.

  • I have some questions, at 2:21 if I drink this every day won’t I get anemia problems? I stop drinking tea because I can deplete your iron. And for the powder one what do you take those with? Like in a fruit smoothie or water.

  • Great podcast, one of my favorite guests. His voice is SO calming and even toned. I’ll definitely pick up the book, and grab some nuts and water! In personally love the long form. I have a killer commute and hate those 30 min pods I need to fumble to change mid drive. Best pod of the yr IMO, THX!

  • I under went a quadruple heart surgery two years ago and 3 of my arteries collapsed leaving me with the main artery. I hope and pray that drinking organi and continuing with a healthy organic diet, which I have done for quite a number of years, but unfortunately, oxidative stress must be stopped as it is what has caused my health problems. I am excited to incorporate organifi green juice into my daily routine and see great results! It would be phenomenal if it cleaned out the orginal clogged arteries and stop from having a daily angina attack!

  • Dr google will never tell you the truth. Supermarkets do not have good food. The only real food is anything with a natural seed grown from the earth, anything else is made in a lab but they will claim its got all the benefits.

  • I’m loving the science but when i compare my shopping bills with my carnivore friends’… no contest, i’m spending 1.5 x due to organics.

  • These are not worth spending on. If you ate these everyday, you’d be spending a fortune. Regular vegetables and fruits do the job.

  • Enjoy learning to keep healthy, thanks for sharing your knowledge . Do you have samples of your healthy green powder that you could share with me?

  • Hmm, those three women were smarter than you since they knew what Cecil Adams in his book “The Straight Dope” and his team of researchers discovered. The number one Superfood dedicated exclusively for women is sperm or male ejaculate containing the same or more nutrients than a large egg. Cum get some super food ladies. A single man could never sustain a woman for a week but three men could sustain her for life as long as each man had enough to get by if SHTF. Women should buy or get all 12 Superfood’s now while they are still available because I guarantee only one will be easy for them to obtain when SHTF

  • I just ordered with confidence of better health, and I will soon be growing micro-greens, along with recent employment change which allows my walking to/from my work! 2020 will be my year to develop/adopt Health-Conscious Habits. Thank you for making this piece so simple!

  • All the natural plants that you’ve mentioned and many more are part of the Muslim daily diet! You can find a lot more info from the compilation of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Healing Medicine that was used a thousand years ago!

  • Thanks for this info. I’m on it. Let’s see if my pops lung cancer can improve, my grans high sugar levels, my lymes…keep u posted.

  • Unfortunately, some people watching this video will not understand that she was not recommending bone broth, coconut oil, salmon and olive oil. People who have been programmed to believe that these foods are health promoting will simply think she’s saying that while those foods are GOOD, even BETTER is broccoli and turmeric. Since they CAN’Y eat a diet consisting of nothing but the two prescribed superfoods, they might make a point of including the others as frequent additions to their diets.
While a weekly serving of salmon, inspite of its cancer promoting animal protein and pollutants, might be LESS harmful than the meat that might otherwise have been consumed, and olive oil MIGHT do less harm than butter or lard in spite of the fact that it has 120 empty calories per tablespoon that become body fat extremely rapidly, all FOUR of these Internet “super foods” should be avoided.
Certainly many of you knew that but some of you may not know that the collagen in bone broth is a protein that is digested into amino acids that have no more skin repairing qualities than any other amino acids and that bone broth can easily be too high in lead.
Many of you may be coconut oil enthusiasts, but understand that research scientists use it to give artheroschlerosis to rats so that they can study the disease.
Just eat a high micronutrient vegan or near vegan plant rich diet and have a daily serving of broccoli (or other cruciferous vegetables) and 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric with a pinch of black pepper (to make it far more absorbable) every day.

Thank you for the inspiration. I just started this wanderful journey and need your advise how to better use chia seeds in meals. Please make a video with your favorite meals using chia seeds. Greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry, I had to turn off at no 1. EGGS, a superfood? The American dietetics association don’t even allow eggs to be called healthful or nutritious. You ain’t got a clue

  • People…. Here’s the goal ability factor of this superfood label. There’s no such thing as a super food it’s all hyperbole hype made up by marketers.

There’s food that is alive,. There’s food that is destroyed, then there’s food like products.

Get off the superfood bullshit. food that is alive is food food that is not alive is not food.

    Stop it, stop it!

  • 1. Take 10-15 carrots + 1 red beet and make a juice. Nitric oxide production for energy.
    2. 1 glass of milk 2% + pinch of cardamon + pinch of black pepper + 15 almonds = mix it in blender and drink it for energy boost.
    3. Cooking an organ like liver and eating it this has B12 and proteins for energy.
    3. Take a bagel and spread avocado(good fat) on it and put smoked Salomon on top and add some spice.Scramble some eggs and eat it together. Eggs give you proteins and b vitamins.

    Peace.

  • Darin, This is great work you are doing. I admire people like you that sacrifice their time to find ways to improve and fix the health of the earth and people
I eat healthy as well and I care about earth health. I just follow the basics. The interesting thing that I have seen is that even though these people that have access to these super foods on a daily basis, they have a short lifespan. I meant native people from amazon and also other native from other areas as well. I understand that there are other factors, like genetics, medical access and so forth.

  • Sadly, epidemiological studies can NOT produce causal relationships. They can merely give us hints about what molecule can be active for a given purpose, or, tell us that certain compounds are *NOT harmful. But to establish causality, we need randomized controlled studies. Otherwise all these are just theories and opinions. However, theories and (hopefully informed) opinions are useful, regardless. So thank you for providing this information
    Cheers!

  • Hard as FUCKING ROCKS FORGET IT NON DIGESTIBLE NUT. PASS. I have a free bag that I never even opened you can have them for free.

  • Hello there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply just do a google search. On there you’ll find a great guidelines about how you can lost a lot of fat. Why not give it a shot? perhaps it’ll work for you too.

  • I was wondering if you could comment on a superfood drink by a company called Purium. They have a 10 day detox plan and they have a green shake that supposedly gives you all the nutrients. I was wondering if you could comment on that.

  • It’s all good as long as it’s not Peruvian marching dust. Cutting edge of nutrition; reminds me of the haul Sir Walter Raleigh brought back from his travels, or the Voyage of the Beagle. My only enduring concern is that this eco-system is in trouble; my best friend is Brazilian and campaigns tirelessly, because she’s rich and she can about ecology and she doesn’t feel sanguine about how long this will last. So elitist concerns remain.

  • Ok chula tengo una pregunta y estoy muy confundida…unas personas disen que la maca te ayuda a bajar de peso y otras k a subir…..y ke ay rojo amarillo y negro…

  • what about natto and yogurt, i make it at home, worthed effort because its amazing superfood effect anti blood cloth, anti blockage arteries

  • There was a lot that was valuable; from the affluent days of my youth I keep 2 or 3 really special people in my life one of whom sent me, this week, 2 postcards from the Amazon and having visited her in Sao Paulo on numerous occasions am familiar with these vegetables. At the risk of being a kill-joy, yes this was super informative and certainly I learned some new things about dealing with anxiety, but guys. The food deserts. I no longer chase a buck and in fact my food bill has gone down since going vegan but I don’t buy vegan snacks and pretend meat etc. yes I invested in an Instant pot for legumes and alternatively slow cooking stuff but there is stuff out there I can’t be bothered with. Ifeel like a jerk pointing this out but you are the good guys. Just imagine what I feel like writing to the twits out there, which I avoid by taking out my dog or going swimming and like Archimedes the Owl in the Once and Future King, which has been on my mind recently, often just feel like engaging in owl like denial and announcing, ‘there is no boy’. But carry on, you’re enjoying yourselves and helping thousands of people. And Fran Liebowitz is a necessary person, which is not a non sequitur because I often feel like her.

  • I got a question if you take, eat, drink, hemp or whatever form you want to take it in! If you were given a blood or urine test will it come back like you got marijuana in your bloodstream or urine? Or THC if they test for televised in your urine and blood? How will it come back in your blood or urine?

  • Another great chat. But when the rubber hits the road, will Darin make his superfoods available/affordable to people in the west living on the bread line or struggling? Or is this just another expensive product only in reach of the middle class and comfortable? Can Darin pull off the ultimate where he is giving back to the indigenous communities, turning a profit for himself and co, but also allowing superfoods to be within reach of poorer folks in the western/’first’ world. Let’s see. If so, this man has my respect.

  • You ll find more calcium in broccoli than milk. In countries where people drink a lot of cow milk such as Sweden there are so many cases of osteoporosis…. How come? Anyway good info

  • Love the podcast! I’m Brazilian and I know baru for sometime an I eat lots of baru nuts everyday for a year now. One of the reasons is for preserving the Cerrado. Good to know that it is a superfood. Unfortunately, very few people here in Brazil know and eat baru.

  • I like Darin but there are some things he got wrong:
About land predators in the Cerrado. There are mountain lions and jaguars, brazilian jaguars are massive, much bigger than the ones in central america, over 220lbs.
There is no mandate to raise cattle(?).
Deforestation started in the late 70s to grow soybeans, corn, cotton and pastures. It’s done mostly by southern brazilians, they’re mostly of german descent, nobody is shocked to see a white guy there.
You need to keep 35% of the land intact in the cerrado and 80% intact in the Amazon. Of course, there are illegal loggers, but it’s suicide for the large agribussinesses to break the law as they face heavy scrutiny. It’s not that bad and there is a possibility to keep both conventional agriculture and more sustainable extractivism in place.
I love baru nuts but it’s simply not comparable in scale. Brazil makes hundreds of billions of dollars exporting meat and grains, that money has been used to finance roads, schools, hospitals, electrical power plants. While Brazil is nowadays a service economy agriculture is still a large source of hard cash, dollars.
The average brazilian living in the Cerrado is 20cms taller nowadays than in the past due to better nutrition and medical care brought by agribusiness. Life expectancy went from 50 years to over 70.

  • Thanks to the both of you. I should really stop reading the comments, but it does remind me of why we may be doomed. Most of the comments are from people who are interested in a habitable planet. But If the others remain in denial, brushing off the awareness of the effect they have on the only known living planet, when as humans it is our responsibility to see to it that life thrives; their attitude will destroy all life. Meat production will kill the planet, but the concern is completely absent when the switch could not be easier. The meat corporations are destroying the ecosystems that they know nothing about. They and their customers don’t want to know. Everyone who knows anything about space exploration and populating other planets knows you don’t disturb planets should life already be there. What about Earth? The problem is money but it could also be the solution. Meat corporations will find that clean (lab) meat will be easier and less expensive by far to produce within ten years and they won’t be able to afford to raise animals.

  • I have some questions, at 2:21 if I drink this every day won’t I get anemia problems? I stop drinking tea because I can deplete your iron. And for the powder one what do you take those with? Like in a fruit smoothie or water.

  • Welcome back Rich!!! Great interview. Darin’s passion for the well being of others is just tooo good for the soul. Thank you for sharing

  • Really loved this episode! Darin you come across as so genuine, I really wish you the best in your journey! Thank you to you and Rich! Sacha

  • Does everyone in your family follow your same sort of dietary principles with the whole raw food clean eating thing? Also, I want to know how to do my hair like that! Potential tutorial?!

  • I really wish that Mr. Olien would flat out tell us which companies we can trust. Doing this doesn’t mean he has to bash another. It’s just really confusing, as a consumer, to know quality product.

  • What about Parsley, Dill, Cilantro, Fennel?I hate broccoli, but Collard, Mustard greens and Kale are fine. For Iodine, i guess some boiled Kelp tea with Ginger and Key lime should do. Asian stores have pretty decent and affordable quality Kelp (Korean i guess). Iodized salt would also do.

  • If you really think about it, calling something a superfood is a terrible way to go about it. What does that imply when we say that? It implies that the foods we normally eat are subpar and mediocre and if you eat some berries they are somehow 100x better and magical when in reality, these “superfoods” should be the STANDARD. It’s not that these foods are super, it’s that the standard meat diet is so toxic that it makes these foods look magical. Our ancestors ate plant foods 24/7 and that was their baseline.

  • The hubs and I love Darin Olien! So blessed we just met him for juice at SunLife a couple of weeks ago and got to chat for a couple hours when we were visiting, and dude is totally dialed in on all levels! Great podcast episode!

  • Can anyone recommend any turmeric supplements or at least the ratio I should look for when buying? Also, any idea if the benefits are preserved if I heat turmeric?

  • Rich I ordered a bag of Barukas with your link. Thank you for amazing content and the introduction to people making a difference #PlantPower

  • Great show, but the narrative about the Cerrado its half, important, but partial. For example: Cupuaçu it is a fruit well know in Brazil, use as ice cream, cookies, juice, etc. I believe that Oilen, have visited very poor states like Maranhão, Piauí and Tocantins, those are less developed places.
In this big region, The Cerrado, it has farmers, investors from Brazil, Europe and US! Main activities are: soybeans, corn, cotton and coffee. The beef industries are in a corner in this moment. Those guys dont need extra acres.

  • Hello there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply just do a google search. On there you’ll find a great guidelines about how you can lost a lot of fat. Why not give it a shot? perhaps it’ll work for you too.

  • Rich, constructive criticism, I think you would look way cooler with some different glasses. And,,,I wish you could squish your information into a shorter video, too darn long to watch the whole thing.

  • I am loving this podcast. On the note of water improving our performance. I watched as my oldest daughter “stalled” in labor. She was dehydrated. The nurse midwife was aware enough to give her some IV fluids and within an hour my granddaughter was here. It made all the difference. I never would have thought. Great point.

  • Chocolate Mousse, best dessert combination of eggs and chocolate! No need to ad extra sugar!
There is so many ways u can eat an egg! We just don’t think about it!

  • Okay your ads driving me crazy with your false equivalency french fries and beer are not healthy do people actually fall for that shit lmfao

  • I want a juicer… my sun loves veggies! We go to the supermarket and he’ll eat sweet peppers and tomatoes with an apple and at the same time.

He chooses a bag of Croutons over a bag of chips. His favorite drink is boathouse green goodness. He loves pineapples, strawberries… let’s just say anything fruits and veggies he’ll never deny.

He knows the difference between meats when they’re raw and he dies this thing where he has to smell everything… he’s 4 next month.

I just started teaching him how to cook because I feel he can be a great cook

  • Eggs are not a food for humans google: foam cells, LDL cholesterol, endothelial dysfunction and the weakening of athletic performance through saturated, animal-based fat intake.

  • Eggs are are a waste product from another species! Full of fat and cholesterol.. not good for humans. Milk is for baby cows!!! We have no need for dairy milk. Bananas and sweet potatoes are great though

  • America has everything yet we are consciously seeking for “superfoods” to take from other countries to hopefully give us a fix from our poor diet & horrible persistent lifestyle. We complicate everything when diet is supposed to be so simple.

  • This Green Juice helped me feel much better. However, I had to back off it a bit….I suspect the Coconut Milk included within made my cholesterol labs get worse. But I’m not done with these products yet. I’m a terrible fussy eater, and junk food junkie….so

  • When he says a quarter tsp of turmeric a day does that mean with a little pepper (and a little fat) for absorption? Or does he mean that it’s better NOT to increase the arbsorbtion like that? It spikes really high with pepper. I didn’t really understand if that’s good or bad really. I must be tired… #plantbasedsciencelondon Please help me to decipher this.

  • I read lots of superb opinions on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost crazy amounts of fat. Has anybody tested out this popular weight loss methods?

  • The amount of omega 3 in chia seeds is so low you will have to eat a huge amount of it to actually get a substantial amount of omega 3. Better just to eat a medium portion of salmon. Read the nutrition label!

  • An opportunistic guy seeking a profit, cloaking it in new age Portlandia poppycock, i.e. Sustainability, profit sharing, and other mumbo jumbo.

  • Not sure on the milk. Populations who consume the most milk have higher levels of low bone density in the elderly. Also bovine growth hormone and growth factors have been linked to many health issues.

  • Here’s my top 6 food categories:
    1. Nuts and seeds for omega 3 and minerals. Men in particular will find the Zinc they need for their testosterone in pumpkin seeds and chia seeds.
    2. Beans. Awesome, cheap and healthy sources of protein. You can add them to salads, blend them or eat them in a soup. Filling and very healthy.
    3. Greens: cruciferous vegetables, spinach, kale etc.
    4. Whole grains: oat, quinoa, buckwheat,
    5. Fruits and berries of all sorts. Blueberries and goji berries are particularly rich in antioxidants. Bananas are an important source of potassium
    6. Root vegetables: potatoes of all kinds, beetroot, carrots
Take home advice: increase your veggie/grain/nuts and seeds while limiting your dairy/egg/meat and oil, sugar, salt consumption for faster recovery and better overall health. As a rule of thumb, if the food you buy has a list of ingredients that looks like a scientific experiment just avoid them. Chances are they are either rich in sugar, fat, salt or a combination of those.
The foods I recommend above will improve your general health, making you able to sustain higher volumes and intensities while at the same time giving you the best possible fuel to prevent injury, fatigue and illness. That said, don’t forget to put in the work and to always listen to your body:)

  • The first minute of this video is flat out great! I’ve always hated the term “superfood” and you stated the problems with this buzzword quite nicely. I also enjoyed the rest of the video as well great info overall. I love how you put videos together.

  • Great list, I already consume all of these regularly, minus the beetroot and milk (because vegetarian), but I’ll find a way to incorporate that beetroot into my diet.

  • Eggs are the largest source of cholesterol in the modern diet, consumption of which in turn leads to our number 1 killed atherosclerosis. Milk is full of estrogen, is naturally full of fat, and is a beverage that was clearly designed for consumption by very young cows, not adult humans.

GTN, perhaps you should stick to the athletic content and move away from nutrition. Most nutritionists have a poor grasp on the underlying research, why should you be expected to get this right these are very complicated topics.

  • What about kale being goitergenic? What other superfood is equivalent to kale and doesn’t disrupt thyroid function?
What about a replacement for cow’s milk for people who cannot drink any animal milk? Is there an equivalent replacement?

  • Eggs are the largest source of cholesterol in the modern diet, consumption of which in turn leads to our number 1 killed atherosclerosis. Milk is full of estrogen, is naturally full of fat, and is a beverage that was clearly designed for consumption by very young cows, not adult humans.

  • Eggs for antioxidants? LOL. Eggs are completely unneccessary and in fact detrimental for human health. There is nothing healthy about a chicken period. High in saturated fat, cholesterol, animal protien that raises IGF-1 which grows cancer cells and you’re at risk of salmonella poisoning.

  • These are not worth spending on. If you ate these everyday, you’d be spending a fortune. Regular vegetables and fruits do the job.

  • Okay your ads driving me crazy with your false equivalency french fries and beer are not healthy do people actually fall for that shit lmfao

  • Anyone tested out the Fenoboci Diet Plan (just google search it)? I have heard several amazing things about this popular diet plan.

  • Do natural popular lose weight method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I have noticed numerous amazing things about this popular fat burn methods.

  • If you really think about it, calling something a superfood is a terrible way to go about it. What does that imply when we say that? • It would have been beneficial for us to know where you got your information from. In terms of milk in particular, I cannot find any non-industry funded research that shows milk is beneficial (I’m sure there are some). The only research I can find shows that milk is actually detrimental to bone health, i.e increased risk for developing osteoporosis.

  • I like Berg, but Asparagus makes your urine smell very bad, sorry Berg. He has a bit of an agenda like selling his products and saying USA farm land is devoid of necessary nutrients which it might be BUT not all land and what is the message swallow pills??? We need to fix the land. How do you replenish nutrition in soil, how do you fortify soil?

  • I just started doing intermittent fasting to boost my performance. Whether its eating only during a 6 hour period or a 2 day fast.

  • I don’t agree with the caw milk. As much has some benefits it has more damage. The new studies have published such a rich content about the damage we get from the caw milk

  • Shakeology you can get it at team beach body check out their website it has a lot of the super foods in it comes in different flavors

  • An omelette with 3 big eggs and some cheese is my breakfast. Besides, a small bowl of chopped tomatoes, cucumber with lots of olive oil and apple vinegar. I sometimes drink a small cup of olive oil and lemon mix. I highly recommend cabbage pickle to feed your good bacteria in your guts. For lunch and dinner, if we would like to go with a slice of steak, consider having a bowl of boiled green lentil with some green stuff. It is said that it contains as much protein as steak. I stay away from milk, adults are said to have not enough bacteria to digest it. Instead I have yogurt, kefir (a fermented milk)(btw I make own yogurt, I don’t buy industrialized yogurt)

  • Eggs???? Seriously!? A
Chickens period that is filled with saturated fat and cholesterol.

  • That’s an amazing story! Daren should consider getting a documentary out on this topic (sustainability and building sustainable businesses)!!

  • Easily the best superfood is generally high quality organ meats >.< like grass fed beef liver or cod liver (not the oil the whole liver) although scallops are good for sure. I eat a lot of salad but if your sensitive to oxilates or have had kidney stones before avoid spinach.

  • I eat a matcha chia pudding every morning for breakfast then throughout the day I top tumeric on eggs and/or cook with it such as in some sardines with hot sauce… I love spicy!!!

  • So I listened carefully and what I got was that cacao and grapes were very beneficial. Was there anything else that I missed that has similar benefits to those two? Also is that red grapes and wine and not white?

  • thank you! great video, I normally take broccoli and turmeric on regular basis, and the latter in cooking and golden milk with fresh turmeric. I’m interested in the iodine video as I’ve been worried that I laid off the consumption of table salt and I take pink salt instead and I know it does not contain iodine, Could you please indicate what is the link to iodine that you mentioned before?

  • Hi! Do you know if this will help with depersonalization? I know it’s just extreme anxiety and stress on steroids because I’m frozen in flight or fight mode, but I’d rather do something natural to get out of the fog first than taking Prozac I know your mind and gut are connected so I was just wondering if anyone knew

  • an extra question. how about water we drink everyday? what kind of water does Dr Greger recommend? Tap water, RO water, distilled water or others? Thanks.

  • You must be rich! If you can afford all the stuff there? You are rich you’re lucky to be rich like that! I don’t know where you got your money from but you’re lucky! I’m not that lucky! I can’t afford that unless you want to give me some free stuff there I’ll take it! Okay yes please? Can I get some help please? This is Fred!

  • I would definitely add moringa and tamarind… have anywhere between 10 to 46 documented health benefits along with multiple vitamins and minerals

  • We take this every day. We are on our third order. And I am loving the GOLD Tea for night time. Taste is amazing
    Drew. Thank you

  • I think that this, and actually, all of the uploaded material from Dr. Greger, is backed up by solid science. It’s for the viewer to decide what they want to do with the information. As the host explains: “…[I did all the research] so you don’t have to”.

  • I’m loving the science but when i compare my shopping bills with my carnivore friends’… no contest, i’m spending 1.5 x due to organics.

  • Anecdotes might not mean much, but personally I can’t go without 5g+ of turmeric and pepper in at least one of my meals daily. Muscle soreness is basically non-existent after every lifting session because of it

  • I have a combination of these 4 in my black coffee every morning: 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric and a touch of black pepper ( to enhance the quality of the turmeric).

  • Does anyone know how to nominate dr. Greger for a Nobel Peace prize in medicine? I think he deserves it more than anyone else I can think of.

  • Can anyone recommend any turmeric supplements or at least the ratio I should look for when buying? Also, any idea if the benefits are preserved if I heat turmeric?

  • London lady. Did you know about this? See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGg0Rk4nzmk&feature=em-uploademail You should get the award.

  • almost all store bought brocoli is sprayed with wax. how much wax are you consuming? how much wax should you comsume for health? does wax in the kidney, liver, blood stream, interfere with normal function? what say you

  • Don’t forget beetroot people. It’s a unique plant and I’d put it on nearly the same level as broccoli. The research behind it is quite amazing.

  • Tumeric is a spice, not a food, Broccoli is great, you did NOT mention to buy certified “ORGANIC” otherwise your exposing yourself to pesticides that some can’t be washed off not even with veggie-wash detergent.

  • I eat both every day! So many fake “superfoods” have come and gone over the last few years (bacon springs to mind) but foods like broccoli and turmeric with real evidence behind them will prevail. Great video!

  • You ll find more calcium in broccoli than milk. In countries where people drink a lot of cow milk such as Sweden there are so many cases of osteoporosis…. How come? Anyway good info

  • Somehow I missed this video when it first came out, but I am so glad I found it! Thanks so much for the info. Yes, I would love to see what you add in superfoods and/or supplements to your recipes. When will you be back?

  • What a great video.  I also Love persimmons and I can see by all your comments they are popular with many people.   And those waffles look great. leggo my Eggo!

  • Don’t kill me but I live amongst persimmon trees and get to pick them from neighbours for FREEEE. Bags and buckets full of them. Sometimes I will pay for them but its usually a killer deal like 10 cents per piece. California…. knows how to partyyyyy.

  • there is that chinese guy who lived to 256 years who ve eaten mostly goji berries. That said, most super foods are not that cause of nutrient bioavaibility, antinutrients, your body current state, intestinal health and hormonal disrupting substances present in the food.

  • I would love to eat Brocholi, yes Im a smoker and keep trying to quit. I also have emphysema. Scary. I can’t eat Brocholi because I get extreme gas pains. Can anyone tell me how to not get gas from it? Help Please!

  • Ive never been a huge vegetable fan so in order to try and get my daily dosage ive been making green smoothies. Ive since seen some research stating you destroy the nutrients by blending. Any thoughts on green smoothies? I also like ginger and turmeric roots for my personal superfood list.

  • Hi,
Just got my bag of Baruka nuts, once I’m done my 36hrs fasting I’ll be grabbing a hand full of these with a Moringa smoothie.
Thank you Rich and Darin for this great conversation full of wonderful information.

  • Steel cut oats, flax meal, brocoli, pistachios, air popped popcorn, boiled eggs, apple, nut butter, and yes, Kiwi, garlic cloves, spinach, mussels and scallops. steaks, fish, or chicken for dinner. Count Macros. That is my diet.

  • What is the best product or brand to lost a ton of fat? I read lots of good opinions on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost lots of fat. Has anybody tested out this popular fat burn diet plan?

  • Hello Jeff. I know this video is old. But might I suggest looking into Moringa oleifera as a “superfood”. It meets and exceeds many of the nutritional requirements you have cited for these other “superfoods”

  • Mussels filter out plastics from the ocean and probably mercury too, so, hmmmmm
I still eat kiwis everyday since I first saw the video. And it really does help to keep you healthy, it´s amazing.

  • Looks like that antioxidants list is something normal that is eaten in Croatia. Aroina is so popular with farmers that it is not even that expensive. Looks like I am doing some yard work in Spring

  • Touching and informative. I really took a liking of Darien. He seems to be doing it for the right reasons, as long as he also makes sure that locals also have the possibility to get access to them at a fair price.

  • The podcasts aren’t available until several hours after the youtube videos are posted, just fyi. Thanks for another great interview Rich.

  • Milk and eggs for athletes? Honestly? We live in 2019… meanwhile it should be widespread enough that cow’s nipple secretion is not a food for humans, neither are eggs… they are high in cholesterol, IGF1, saturated fats, hormones and in general quite acidic which put our bodies under a lot of stress. Substitute eggs with flax seeds and milk with any plant milk you like and you ‘re fine. And regarding the 3:1 carb/protein ratio for good muscle recovery… try rice and beans. Has the same result, easy to digest and low in fat, maybe add some tahini for nutrient absorption and you ‘re fine.

  • I recently just bought this product ‘ it working very well I feel the benefits of this working. I’m feel light and not sluggish I feel clear mind. I would highly recommend this product. Thank you for this video!

  • Do anybody know about Custokebon Secrets? Does it really work? I hear many people lost their fat with this popular lose weight methods.

  • Google “lyly amazing guide” to find the best weight loss plan in the world. It quickly delivers impressive results to users. I’ve already slipped 6 lbs in less than 1 week.

  • I’m so happy I found your channel. We are trying to move to super foods and we don’t really know what we’re doing so thank you! ❤️

  • Jeff, I urge you to compare the nutritional values of a Guava to Kiwi. I love them both but in terms of nutritional content of vitamin C, Guava kicks Kiwi’s ass by a long margin

  • The way Darin describes his dad. I’m just like his dad. Smart, an empath, but all over the place. I’m interested in different things on different days. A jack of all trades, but never a fully realized meaning of the tasks I’m doing. For years, I’ve considered this a flaw as I compare my life against those who have done everything “right” and seemingly are farther ahead or actually “on schedule”. I’m now considering it and working on… realizing that it can be a powerful thing as well as something that can be quite destructive, if I don’t handle things in a healthy manner. I very much “feel the room” and get a lot of information from the non-verbal or things left out of the conversation. I’m just beginning, at 45, to realize that it is not something that is “wrong” with me, but just a different way of being. It’s a mind f*ck.

  • I don’t know if I breached all superfood decorum but I literally just made a superfood salad with every single item on the list in their raw form, chopped then topped off with an apple cider vinegar/olive oil/Italian seasoning dressing. In this moment, I’m either the healthiest human on the planet or I’m about to have the death runs…

  • Dr Berg, please talk about who should avoid some of these foods due to their very high content of OXALATES!!!

  • Dr. Greger has a number of times pointed out that the best way to get the good stuff in broccoli isn’t to eat broccoli, but instead to eat broccoli sprouts. The sprouts contain many times the concentration of the key nutrients as the mature broccoli. The sprouts tend to be very expensive if you buy them already sprouted, but the are super cheap if you sprout them yourself.

We buy broccoli seeds in two pound bags from Amazon that lasts us about a year. It takes about 4 days to sprout, so we have 4 sprouting jars (mason jars with screen disks that replace the sealing disk in the lid) that we use in rotation. This way we always have a new jar of sprouts just finishing everyday to put on our salads or on sandwiches. Just rinse twice a day and make sure they are well drained. We have stands that holds the jars at an angle downwards with a tray under each to catch the drip.

  • My cousin told me about the “sowo hope site” (Google it). With almost no time, I dropped 16 pounds. This diet program works for everybody. Anyone who wants to shed some serious excess fat without doing harm to the body just has to try “sowo hope site”. Google it right now!

  • I have severe Gastritis. I could not eat nothing but cabbage soup for 8 months, omg. It was hell. I tried a strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and I thought I was going to die mother pain was so bad. So I began fridge probiotics, because this manager helped me,giving me a sample, because I couldn’t afford them. I have CRPS,fibromyalgia, severe CFS. It’s horrendous,it’s like mono times 1000 and fibromyalgia, feels like someone beat you to death. My sed rate is sky high,I don’t smoke or drink, but I burn from the inside out. So I swell and any kind of stimulation, laugh, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, goosebumps,I begin to blister, and I look like I’ve been in a house fire. It’s hell.

  • Sorry but this hit a nerve. Perhaps people remember the assassination of Allende in Chile, who was no extreme Marxist threat to the US and there are still regular reports of wealthy rich yahoos driving around the streets of Rio and Sao Paulo and Brazilia gunning down homeless 13 yr olds. The appropriation of land by the wealthy from small farmers has already happened what romantic village chiefs are possibly in a position of any kind of power to negotiate fair trade deals? Something is rotten in the state of … pick a south American country. How long ago has it been since Sting and Peter Gabriel under the auspices of Amnesty International risked their lives by taking their show on the road more than once in Argentina and elsewhere to protest on behalf of the mothers of the disappeared at the hands of the Juntas of the Generals? I’m not sure a few superfoods, however exciting the adventure and the journey, cuts it in this context.

  • Google “lyly amazing guide” to find the best weight loss plan in the world. It quickly delivers impressive results to users. I’ve already slipped 6 lbs in less than 1 week.

  • Superfoods effect has more to do with placebo than actual impact on health, a lot of smoke and mirrors around the topic as well as clever marketing. Don’t get me wrong, very fascinating and I can geek out researching and trying them, but fruits and veggies are the true superfoods.

  • Somehow I missed this video when it first came out, but I am so glad I found it! Thanks so much for the info. Yes, I would love to see what you add in superfoods and/or supplements to your recipes. When will you be back?

  • Wow a lot of supplements. Just letting you know, the Garden of Life Perfect Food isn’t vegan. The probiotics in it are cultured with dairy.

  • I got this ad and really had to come here and say do your goddamm research viewers. I have never heard of such bullshit before. Bunch of buzzwords and unproven statements preying on your scientific illiteracy. Do you research. Go read these “studies” and make your own logical interpretations.

  • I was wondering if you could comment on a superfood drink by a company called Purium. They have a 10 day detox plan and they have a green shake that supposedly gives you all the nutrients. I was wondering if you could comment on that.

  • The amount of omega 3 in chia seeds is so low you will have to eat a huge amount of it to actually get a substantial amount of omega 3. Better just to eat a medium portion of salmon. Read the nutrition label!
