    My waffle makers have arrived. I have an 8″ Belgian (yes, size does matter) and I got a smaller one, thinking it would be “Eggo” sized. It’s 4″ in diameter!!! Sitting next to each other on the counter it looks like the big one had a small child.

    If I wanted to make waffles without protein powder what would I use in its place?
    Almond flour, Coconut flour???

    I’m just not familiar enough with these new ingredients to decide if they would be a good replacement for the protein powder.

  • WARNING! They are INSANELY DRY. I suggest have massive amounts of syrup on hand or you will be choking to death on these waffles. Still a good option for replacing real mix though. (They are also heavy in your stomach, so two is PLENTY)

  • Just made this. My honest opinion: The pancakes taste alright. I added a bit of vanilla to the batter, but other than that I didn’t change much and it just wasn’t the greatest. The frosting though is very nasty imo. It’s grainy and just doesn’t taste nor feel like frosting. I would just use plain vanilla Greek yogurt or whatever Greek yogurt u like for a topping instead of this frosting. Overall 6/10 wouldn’t make again

  • Just made these for post workout breakfast meal. Definitely not bad. They don’t taste like heaven by any means lol. A little sponge texture. They taste like a “healthier” version should taste I guess u could say. but I’d make them again. Nice change of pace from eggs with spinach and oatmeal haha.

  • These are the most DELICIOUS thing!!! OMG, I am never having regular waffles or pancakes again. Personally I subbed in I can’t believe it’s not butter (light) for butter 1:1 (I’m not keto, I’m low carb after bariatric surgery and have to stay low fat) and didn’t add salt. AMAZINGGGG!!! You don’t even need syrup, they’re so delicious. The only reason you’d need a topping is for moistness, in which case you can try unsweetened apple sauce and dip very sparingly

  • Holy crap, this actually worked! I’ve tried making keto pancakes but they fall apart and never cooked all the way through. With this protein powder, I was able to make keto pancakes! I added a bit of coconut flower and some erythritol, but they stayed together, AND actually cooked! Thank you for this recipe!!

  • Just tried it this morning, because my girls wanted waffles (they got a traditional mix). I was nicely surprised on how well the batter came together and cooked up on the iron. They were pretty decent, the flavor left much to be desired, but you’re leaving that up to whichever protein powder you use. I had used some Vanilla Vega Plant Protein & Greens that I had on hand, next time I will try the Cookies & Crean powder that I have. Definitely makes for a good butter, unsweetened whipped cream, and pecan delivery system.

    I didn’t follow the recipe 1:1 cause I don’t have a food scale but I used 1 scoop of protein powder:1/4 cup of pancake mix, the rest was sort of eyeballed

    And for the glaze I used 1 tbls of powder and added a few drops of vanilla extract

  • I’m super confused. I put a scoop of unflavored protein powder in my soup. I heated it up in the microwave and it clumped up. How does it not clump up in a waffle when cooked? I don’t do keto but I do low carb. I had the gastric sleeve surgery so the recipes are very similar.
