  • Been using manuka for a month now, just 2 tsp a day, my skin has always been very dry but now is very hydrated and feels like silk. Helps that the honey tastes so dense and fudgy too. Really feels like the nectar of the Gods x

  • If I have like scars on my face and forehead from pimples that I kept picking at, do u think applying this topically would help..? If so, how long should I leave it on?
Since it’s SO expensive, I’d like to leave it on as long as possible… but it’d be nice to know, at what point does it become “too long” to where your not getting the benefits anymore.. or at least not as much?
    Thanks in advance!

  • My friend has diverticulitis, which one should he have?
    Where do we order this?
I’d like to get a newsletter from this company.
    I have major stomach issues,
which one should I use # wise?
    Thank you.
P.S. Can you also give us a recipe to use it. Thank!

  • New Zealand??? They mean really Australian! The Manuka plant comes originally from Australia which has dozens of varieties compared to the ONE from New Zealand. Varieties in Australia also are also way more potent.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? 1:02 Pretty sure when you say tea tree there confusing it with the other plant that only has like 3 names and not 34. So call it but what it’s known as, Leptospermum scoparium or Manuka plant come on.

  • I’m so glad they’re showing American consumers the UMF logo to check for fakes! Australia is trying to get a chunk of the market by selling manuka honey, it’s actually spelled Mānuka, so some of their honeys are slipping under the radar. Remember guys, look for the line above the first a (ā) and the UMF logo and you’ll know it’s real

  • Does kfactor 16 make it more relevant to health? I just read that UMF rated Manuka is what should be looked for when choosing Manuka honey.

  • I’m a beekeeper in Florida. The bees here make a lot of honey from the Brazilian Pepper trees. I’ve heard that Brazilian Pepper honey has the same properties and health benefits as Manuka. Does anyone know if this is true?

  • I bought manuka health 400 mgo, I was beyond deathly ill, in pain couldn’t eat, couldn’t even have a bowel movement, I lost 80 lbs, less than month and half, my bones hurt, muscle spasms, sharp pains all over including my head, I took honey less than two weeks I can eat poop, look good all pain went away

  • Manuka honey is phenomenal. I used it to get rid of chronic sinusitis I had for 8 years. It took me 3 years of putting this in my sinus rinse along with xylitol but I finally got rid of the sinusitis which was absolutely killing me. I was so tired all the time and had to use steroids to keep my sinuses open and from constantly running. I was exhausted from the sinusitis and edgy from the steroids, not a good combination. There are also a lot of health risks associated with the chronic use of steroids, but I felt I didn’t have a choice. I had sinus surgery and that didn’t work and had 2 ENT’s tell me I would have the sinusitis forever. I was very depressed by this news. I found the manuka honey and xylitol remedy on line and figured what do I have to lose. I’m so glad I did. It’s expensive but it worked and I’m eternally grateful. I tell everyone about manuka honey. I eat it everyday in my oatmeal. This video is not lying. The strength has to be above a 10 for medicinal purposes. I use Wedderspoon raw manuka honey K16. I’ve probably spent about 16,000.00 dollars in the last 6 years and it was worth every penny. I don’t use as much now since I got rid of the sinusitis. Do your research. There is a lot of info on line about this honey. Natures antibiotic. I also use it on a skin condition I got from the same exposure to some dust that caused the sinusitis when I was cleaning out a very dirty room. It is slowly getting rid of that as well.

  • Does Fopobiacne Secrets (google it) help me break free from acne? I notice a lot of people keep on talking about this popular natural acne remedy.

  • 7 months later and I can only find the Trader Joe’s brand on EBay…. Trader Joe’s doesn’t even have it. And agreed with another comment, which brands were fake? Video doesn’t say….

  • Good Morning America has put together a very informative piece for consumers about Manuka honey. We were thrilled and honored that they interviewed and featured Whitney Lancaster, one of Bees and Trees’ loyal customers. This piece helps to further communicate the story that we’ve been telling through our website, social media postings, and literature for the past 3 years. Our sincere thanks to the GMA team. The US consumers who watch this segment are the big winners here. Do you know whether your Manuka Honey is the real thing? Check your labels and read more on this important subject at

  • One question, if it’s natural and good for you, then why is it bad to consume more than the recommended amount or a higher rated Manuka honey??

  • Thanks. Is this the same as “mad honey”? Does it have rhododendron in it? It is said some honey can have spores & whatever the bees gather. Reseach shows some strange things. Raw honey is scary.

  • Genuine UMF Manuka Honey only comes from NewZealand and every batch is government tested to guarantee quality(visit @t to find out more about testing)

  • As a person who battles Cystic Fibrosis, I grow Staphylococcus aureus a ubiquitous human commensal pathogen in my lungs & Manuka honey treats this. A friend of mine suffers from h pylori & Manuka honey is an effective treatment for this as well. I’m going to purchase this product this week!

  • Honey as a wound care goes back to ancient Egyptian papyrus medical records. I have been using honey mixed with herbs for over thirty years and can attest to its efficacy. Local organic unpasteurized honey is enough but add propolis and myrrh and it will stop MRSA. Thank you for the research and telling us what we already know about honey. Manuka does have interesting essential oils as well.

  • LOL okay to each his own…I kept using the dear old manuka honey…that stuff kept my toe INFECTION FREE FOR 2 1/2 bless the bees and bless the professorl but the funny bit is…I dropped a heavy bottle of “honey conditioner on the top of my foot, the foot swelled up bad and closed up the wound so im telln a fb friend with burns and mrsa to use it, I just got a new jar too! lol I guess i’ll try it on toast!! LOL I guess I got me one “honey” of a toe don’t I? I thank God and Manuka!:)

  • Why does the raw honey have to be local? I would have thought its location isn’t relevant. My mum is in hospital with severe bowel infection (previously diagnosed as dead bowel and put on end of life care) They changed their mind and are trying antibiotics. What would be the ideal strength Manuka to use bearing in mind I am not that well off?

  • Good morning dct.! I have my daughter 10 years old with helicobacter pylori.she have to take 2 antibiotics for kill this bacteria. What Manuka honey I can buy for her and how long to give it? Thanks

  • Tell Dr. Molan to ask the doctors to do a double blind study based on something I discovered about Manuka honey. I take a medication that causes a small amount of leg edema (although different brands differ in amount which puzzles me). I have found that stopping that medication also causes the extraordinary good results I have with this honey to almost stop working. When the edema effect is again added to the mix, the wound again opens up and starts accepting the honey and, as Dr. Molan explains in another video, digests it through the wound. Perhaps by stimulating the patients own body fluids to dilute the strength of the honey by stimulating an edema effect with whatever medication might do that for any particular patient is something that should be studied. As the “digestion” of the honey by the wound stops if the edema stops. In my case anyway.

  • Manuka honey is 21.98 at Wal-Mart in Oklahoma and it’s some great honey I been using it for 2years it’s the only thing that has my allergies uncontroll

  • I really like this video It gave me hope. I have Merca and I will go to the store right now and start my treatment Thank you Dr. Axe!

  • It’s said that true natural Manuka Honey won’t be sold as being above 16%. Apparently the 20+ % can only be achieved by boiling the raw honey. Which in turn might be taking away from some of the other active agents of the honey.

  • Thank you so much for this information. I have a dear friend that has knee replacement and it is infected. She has gone months getting iv antibiotics and she still has this infection. They took out her knee cap at this time and want her to come several times a week to retake iv antibiotics. I’m searching for something to help her. I hope this is it. Thank you again.

  • My vet recommended this as treatment for a large wound on my horses leg. It was deep & had several things growing in it. After 24 hrs the wound was very much improved. It continues to heal & while there’s a dressing on it, the honey forms a barrier against pathogens.

  • Just tried a Manuka Honey with CBD topical. Used it as a facial moisturizer and on my dry chapped lips. My skin and lips feel so soft now. I’m a fan!

  • It works, I had gastritis and it got rid of it in 2 days. Really strong side effects though including muscle paralysis and anxiety for me for a couple of days. They were scary. Everyone has a different response. I know a friend who has had it for 3 years already and manuka honey is a miracle cure.

Problem is I didn’t ask the doctor because theyre not very much supporters of natural treatments. They like to give temporary relief medications so everyone keeps buying more.

  • Professor Molan has pioneered the research on Manuka Honey and woundcare. You are entitled to your opinion, but in mine, he deserves a lot more respect than you’ve expressed.

  • Manuka honey is nothing but syrub feeded bees. Dangerous for cancer patients. Tones of manuka honey. People don’t know bees will never make tones of honey

  • Excellent video on the wonderful healing properties of honey.
2,000 years ago Roman military surgeons used Garlic mash,

Using honey is magical in that most wound scars either vanish or
    are minimal.
Truly one of nature’s magic products.

  • Dr. Axe, What is the best brand you recommend? What’s the difference between the numbers MGO and UMF written on the manuka packaging,at least that’s what I see at the one at Costco? Thanks

  • I see lots of people keep on speaking about Fopobiacne Secrets. But Im uncertain if it’s good. Have you ever tried using this popular natural acne remedy?

  • I ordered the comvita manuka 20+ on black Friday special and after 2 days it took away my winter allergies I had been suffering for 3 weeks!! I’m now using it everyday in my coffee and tea and face mask. ❤

  • What is the best product or brand to get rid of your acne problem? I read loads of great opinions on the net about how Fopobiacne Secrets can assist you get rid of your acne problem. Has anyone tested out this popular natural acne treatment?

  • I was infected with h pylori now after treatment and test my report came that I am free from pylori but still now i have some issue in my digestive system n also gastric problem can I take manuka honey.

  • Do anyone know about Fopobiacne Secrets? Does it work? I hear lots of people get rid of their acne problem with this popular acne treatment.

  • Another little interesting tidbit of information I found out while being healed with Manuka honey was that in Pennsylvania, the head of the beekeepers association here told me that their biggest customers for raw honey (that you generally can get from your local beekeeper) were Amish women. All honeys have the properties of healing which is said to occur because of the creation of small amounts of hydrogen peroxide created when body fluids come in contact with wound exudate, or pure liquid of any kind, but in the case of manuka honey this seems symbiotic and essential for the honey to work. As is so with other honeys. I just wonder how many other flowers out there have not been researched as to their unique healing properties. One person who seemed interested and had started a company but apparently got sidetracked on that journey was John McAfee who was running a company called quorumex. I wonder if other companies are researching this subject because I’ve had extraordinary results with Manuka honey and for me, a unique side effect was that because the body apparently recognizes honey as a natural covering, the body does not have to waste energy producing a scab, although waste products white in color does come out of the wound and has to be washed off. I can’t help but wonder if this is a waste product of the natural digestion of the honey by the wound, or if this white substance is cast off white blood cells that have done their job. It’s also amazing watching a wound regerate tissue and I  liken that to watching small homes being built, geodesic domes of a sort, and the body’s workers seem to erect a small mound and then an army of other bodily cells seem to come in and create the interior of the created structure and then the process completes and repeats until the wound is healed. And another interesting feature of watching one a wound with Manuka honey heal is witnessing the new tissue when the process is complete, looking new as the skin of a baby in an incubator, as well as the seamless recreation of the skin without scarring. It’s quite amazing to look at brand new tissue meshing with old tissue that looks lime nature’s seam has been recreated perfectly. A little tanning and there is likely to be no evidence at all of a scar. It’s that perfect a process.
The whole thing has stimulated me to “get healthy”, to eat right, and cut meat out of my diet, or least as much as this old poor  southerner with an incredible love for BBQ can, although I admit to a weakness of the heart at times and I succumb, but seldom much now. Eating right just makes junk food not so enjoyable and one does crave healthy foods entirely, although I will give myself a small treat less and less every day. was blessed by Manuka honey in more ways than I first thought possible.  Mother nature has more treasures in store if countries will just spend the money on thinking men who can come up with what Dr. Molan has. I don’t know the economic effects but based on what I have seen, at $80 a pint for the “highest quality” Manuka honey, it must be a multibillion dollar industry.

I convinced my local pharmacies to seek out patches and have succeed in getting one to supply them when I found some at store in SC. My other pharmacy got Manuka in tube form or you can also look for Medihoney wound ointment in a tube.

In the US the primary supplier for medical grade Manuka is Derma Sciences. I own no stock in this company so that’s not a stock market recommendation but I do understand there have been market fights over territory with this honey and other wound healing products. I know I got the extraordinarily good results I did because I take a medication that causes a small amount of leg edema. If I quit taking that medicine, the healing effect is dramatically decreased. Your results may differ.

Be careful buying honey out there. Only raw honey’s work so almost all grocery store honey is useless as it is heated to over 115 degrees  so that it flows factory fast, which destroys whatever it is that produces the magic  Half of Manuka honey doesn’t have the special properties and science still doesn’t know why, or didn’t the last time I checked. “Ratings” for Manuka honey is something Dr. Molan talks about in another video. The bees and scientists and doctors still have much to teach us. But in my mind, we haven’t unlocked all the secrets bees and perhaps other flowers and other creatures in Mother Nature’s kingdom have in store for us. I’m hoping for more medical miracles from plant based medicine to come. Let’s just not destroy bee habitat or our precious rain forests.

  • Now that it’s gone mainstream I don’t believe it’s good for the health… No way the elite would let the world know about a product that’s beneficial to the population.

  • It’s all about marketing. It’s funny how people fall for it and don’t even know it’s fake manuka honey. Don’t trust labels. China still controls honey market in the US by simply shipping honey to Brazil, Ukraine, Mexico and other countries and make it look like it’s from there. New Zealand is not exception.

  • Hi Dr Axe I having issues with herpes outbreaks I have try everything from Vitamins and hearbes and it seems not to work Come on manuka honey with black sea oil help me with my outbreaks

  • he’s right it’s helping me a lot! tastes like doo doo on toast anyway so you may as well use it on wounds! LOL it’s good stuff and I don’t have a dog in this fight but it’s helping with a bad toe! GB

  • Thanks for info. One note Eucalyptus oil is largely not recommended as dangerous in most essential oil publications. Also no need to add expensive honey for burns. The lavender essential oil with coconut oil is enough.

  • Can anyone tell me where to purchase manuka oil. I have the honey but in regards to healing skin, it’s too messy& oil would be best.

  • This guy is a agent of Monsanto. Manuka is grown by the Monsanto group affiliates meaning its a GM Honey. Do your research sheeple.

  • He’s not kidding. This stuff is worth the cost. I bought it for stomach issuessevere constant pain, unable to eat much if anything at all. Horrible constant nausea. I was already to the ER several tones and the gastrointestinal dr.’s and had some tests donethey couldn’t find anything. Ended up on expensive Carofete with best guess diagnosis of gastritis or stomach ulcers. I had been taking the Carofete for three weeks..not a whole lot of progress, then ordered this to try. No kidding within 3 days of taking this twice a day, a little less than a teaspoon on an empty stomach I could EAT again, without pain! No more nausea or constant pain. I will not go without this product in my house again. This is GOLD stuff.

  • It’s also been medically proven to kill staph and strep infections, even MRSA. But you need one with an UMF of 10 or greater. The higher the better. My sister-in-law swears it healed her bleeding ulcer and now takes it every day to prevent another one.

  • If you want the real deal, go to New Zealand, or get it sent from a reputable New Zealand store, as long as it is packed in NZ then you are pretty sure its Pure. Also look for the UMF Rating this assures it has been tested and meets the government scientific definition, every batch will have an individual number that can be traced back to the producer.

  • I agree with Dr Axe, I also recommend anyone with stomach issues to get Manuka Honey. Honey is healing my stomach and digestion.

  • Is it possible that this honey works so well against today’s bacteria because it hasn’t had a lot of exposure to this honey’s anti bacterial/microbial properties?

It’s known that bacteria and disease grow resistant to today’s antibiotics because they get used so often or because people take an antibiotic and don’t finish the series of pills/ syrup because they start feeling better, which in turn gives the bacteria/ disease a chance to grow that resistant strain.

  • It also cures Ebola, HIV, Anthrax, Zika Virus and Alzheimer. Almost everything. Should we treat Donald Trump with it?

By the way, 80% of the stuff is falsificated. And listening to him for 5 min, makes my ears bleading.

  • Even raw honey will over time cause tooth decay if vitamin K2 is missing in the diet.Honey (even if raw, and even if Manuka) is very insulingenic…so when you mentioned only a small amount of it, like a teaspoon, I totally agree.

  • =)

  • Hey from New Zealand! Manuka honey is very expensive here so hate to think what you pay there. Amazing stuff though and definitely worth it. Loved hearing all the uses, I only knew a few!

  • Please help me. I love eating plain Greek yogurt with small amounts of honey from time to time but last week I put a shit ton of honey into my yogurt. I felt bloated and had stomach discomfort but the next morning I felt fine. Then the day after that I ate some more yogurt with even MORE of a shit ton of honey. Since then I have been feeling like shit, bloated with stomach discomfort. Terrible feeling. I was constipated for the first few days but now I’m able to go, however I’m still dealing with the stomach discomfort and being bloated. I read somewhere too much honey can permanantly damage your small intestines to where your small intestines won’t process essential nutrients anymore. The type of honey I consumed was Kirkland’s Organic Raw Honey. I bought it at Costco. It never made me sick till I ate a shit ton of it. Fuck man, I hate going to the doctor’s office, do you have any advice, please

  • As expert, I do think Fopobiacne Secrets is actually great way to cure your acne naturally. Why not give it a shot? perhaps it’s going to work for you too.

  • I was slathered with manuka honey by my Maori hosts when I had a bad sunburn visiting NZ. Thought it was ridiculous but the swelling/redness from the sunburn disappeared within a couple hours. Mind blown.

  • Great Authentic Manuka honey can be bought by the Manuka doctor from New Zealand.
They sometimes have it on sale including their skincare. I have used their products for almost 3 years. Love them!

  • How much zinc and B vitamins are in Manuka honey? I can’t find any information on this anywhere. When I add Manuka to Chronometer it doesn’t add any vitamins or minerals…

  • what plant is the source of this honey? How do we know we are getting the real thing. There has to be a limit to this source, just thinking about the bees.

  • aww…look how caring you are about the doggie!! I’m science minded, but I thank god for doctors who promote natural stuff too. I had a split callous from swollen feet very akin to diabetic…SO I PRAY RIGHT NOW, THAT XENOS WILL HAVE THE SAME INFECTION FREE RESULTS I HAD AND A TOTAL CLOSING AND HEALING OF HIS FOOT so he can be a fun daddy again!! Bless him and amen…( if its on the bottom try to take the pressure off when ever you can after the bottle thing I got off it a lot lol ) my best:):)

  • Dear Doctor, Is Manuka Honey boosting your immune system or/and killing bacteria withing your body or only in your stomach? thanks!!!

  • My mom has an leg ulcer about 22 inches wide cause by corynebacterium and pyoderma gangrenosum. She is also a diabetic. Any suggestions as to how I can help?
