This was one of my favorite talks/streams. I loved Trainwrecks sharing his perspective of what’s his drive, his flame, and how talking about it diminishes its power. Dr. K elaborating on how that’s a well understood concept in eastern culture (talking about Mantras) was also so interesting. And him saying how diminishing the power of something can also be good, like when talking about problems in therapy or just with friends. I dislike a bit that Train don’t seperates drug usage from addiction, he probably don’t does it on intention but often users of drugs or other things that made bad experiences of it are the most biased and unfair opponents to the thing they could not deal with.
It’s just problematic when people with drama talk about topics that are also political, but I might be a bit oversensitive here, the drug war just causes more damage than any drug itself could do and destroys families and other stuff, not to mention the racist part of it especially in the US.

I have manic depression. After a bad episode of it, a friend asked me what it was like. I played her this song. I printed up the lyrics. The music is how I know I should feel laid back, care-free but the lyrics were how I constantly feel. After years of not understanding, she cried and hugged me apologized for all the times she had been hard on me and misjudged me.
This song has been on repeat for me, it really tells a story about anyone going through a storm in your life. Music can really be what we need to calm us.
This song has gripped me and given me such bliss. I’ve planned my suicide twice, once in 2007 and then again in 2018. I nearly went through with each plan until something would interrupt that attempt, and I found myself losing each day, instead of living. And for the first year in twelve years, I’m in a healthy mental and emotional space. I had to start all over again, and this song reminds me of that day, 28th October 2019, when I decided to make the change. Thank you Michael. These times are tough but they are not forever. We can get better. Every day is a new start. You just have to put your running shoes on.

No matter where you go in this world, you’d realize most of us are fighting the same fight. But we got fed different ideas growing up making us believe it’s us vs them. But if you got to know their perspective you’d realize you have been lied to. I encourage you to try to understand their perspective so you can see for your self.
I think he makes a wrong assumption, I would reject his idea that we all the same more or less, sure puberty makes you overly critical about your parents, but some people have not good or maybe only average parents, and if you want to become above average even average answers might be bad, but even more important if your parents failed at some things you need to outgrow your parents.
So he might be to critical of his parents and he has nice parents and he learned that he was to critical but for some people that is the opposite, sure you should be understanding as far as possible of mistakes your parents made but what often happens especially with children is that they do the opposite they blame themself for a divorce as example. So it’s for many people important to realise that the parents did fail them and they were not good role models.
So he overgeneralizes his experiences and his oppinions as all he says is universal and he covers maybe 1 side of a coin but not the full coin…

This was one of my favorite talks/streams. I loved Trainwrecks sharing his perspective of what’s his drive, his flame, and how talking about it diminishes its power. Dr. K elaborating on how that’s a well understood concept in eastern culture (talking about Mantras) was also so interesting. And him saying how diminishing the power of something can also be good, like when talking about problems in therapy or just with friends. I dislike a bit that Train don’t seperates drug usage from addiction, he probably don’t does it on intention but often users of drugs or other things that made bad experiences of it are the most biased and unfair opponents to the thing they could not deal with.
It’s just problematic when people with drama talk about topics that are also political, but I might be a bit oversensitive here, the drug war just causes more damage than any drug itself could do and destroys families and other stuff, not to mention the racist part of it especially in the US.

I think he makes a wrong assumption, I would reject his idea that we all the same more or less, sure puberty makes you overly critical about your parents, but some people have not good or maybe only average parents, and if you want to become above average even average answers might be bad, but even more important if your parents failed at some things you need to outgrow your parents.
So he might be to critical of his parents and he has nice parents and he learned that he was to critical but for some people that is the opposite, sure you should be understanding as far as possible of mistakes your parents made but what often happens especially with children is that they do the opposite they blame themself for a divorce as example. So it’s for many people important to realise that the parents did fail them and they were not good role models.
So he overgeneralizes his experiences and his oppinions as all he says is universal and he covers maybe 1 side of a coin but not the full coin…
