The participants were divided into two groups; half ate 700 calories at breakfast, 500 calories at lunch, and 200 calories at dinner, while the other half ate the reverse: 200 calories at breakfast, 500 calories at lunch, and 700 calories at dinner. Both groups lost weight, however, the large breakfast eaters lost substantially more (18 pounds compared to 8 pounds) and lost more inches from their waists (3. While some small preliminary research indicates eating more calories earlier in the day taps into our body’s natural circadian rhythms that follow metabolism and enhance weight loss better than bigger dinners, this is far from conclusive. “‘Big breakfast healthier than a big dinner'” Medical News Today, August 11, 2013 “Is a Big Breakfast, Small Dinner Best For Weight Loss?” MyFitnessPal, November 28, 2018 “Should we eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper?” The Conversation, December 12, 2017. While many people begin the day with a small meal and finish with a large dinner, a new study suggests the opposite approach—”breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper”—could help regulate your metabolism and aid weight los. Apparently the key to weight loss success is a big breakfast, a reasonable lunch and a small, early dinner A HUGE study has just confirmed that a weight loss strategy that flies in the face of most common knowledge really does work. Over a 12-week period, the big breakfast group showed greater weight loss and reduction in waist size than the big dinner group, even though the. • Glass of water first, bowl of Grape Nuts and Honey Nut Cheerios mixed together and I have the perfect recipe to initiate my morning poop.

  • Some thoughts about the study and how it was presented here:
    1. Such conviction in stating “breakfast doesn’t promote weight loss” considering it was later conceded that the studies included in the meta-analysis were poorly designed/executed. It’s a leap to go from “there’s no definitive evidence that breakfast promotes weight loss” to “breakfast doesn’t promote weight loss”
    2. The closest thing to a statistic presented here was “people who don’t eat breakfast lost a pound” which says nothing about people who DO eat breakfast.
    3. Re: the above finding, what population were the studies sampling from? People trying to lose weight? People considered clinically overweight? Without this information it’s especially dangerous to generalize to all people with food security.
    4. What possible confounds were controlled for? Activity level? Familial/environmental support? Professional support? History with weight and dieting?
    5. You conflate intake with weight change. Activity level can significantly interfere with the correlation between intake and weight change. I bet outside of controlled settings people with active jobs have higher average intakes than people with desk jobs.
    6. This is just me speculating, but going off of my previous point I wouldn’t be surprised if people who ate breakfast were more likely to exercise since they had more energy. I wonder if that was looked at or controlled for in any of the studies included in the meta-analysis.
    7. How long did the included studies run? Were subjects followed up with down the road to see if they’d continued eating or not eating breakfast and how their weight had changed or not changed? Were there lasting impacts of the study?
    8. What kinds of food were being eaten in the breakfast-eating groups? Was it different from what subjects ate for breakfast before joining the study? Were they given a certain amount or certain type of food to eat?

All of this to say I don’t necessarily believe breakfast promotes weight loss (my inclination is to say that it varies drastically by person) but I certainly don’t trust a 2 minute presentation of a study and it irritates me that the findings are being presented in such a clickbait-y way.

  • It’s an ancient Indian way of eating… Yes.. two full meals a day…. Best way to stay healthy…. Post my second child birth, I and my husband adopted this system m lost weight without any hassels… I attained my previous shape and so did my husband… I have seen my grandfather doing this for whole of his life n went on to live 92 years healthy life… No blood pressure, no diabetes or any other ailments…. Even me n my husband have noticed tremendous changed in our looks…. Believe me… It works…

  • Just started to eat like this! I can’t figure out what to eat though. Any ideas? i always skip breakfast and to go for 0-700 is a big change haha i don’t know where to start

  • I would think the reason breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day is because its the first meal of the day. No science behind it at all, when you first eat your body starts working and then you can start working. On a personal note what i have noticed through life is that people who skip breakfast are often low on energy and compensate by eating lots of sugar and when its time for lunch they are not hungry and eat something small then compensate again with more sugar. I dont think its very good to promote the idea of breakfast not being important since any well functioning adult person could tell you it is.

  • What’s sad is that for decades health care professionals have been telling overweight patients they HAVE TO eat breakfast. The fact of the matter is, many people aren’t hungry when they wake up. Then when they start moving appetite comes on. We also don’t need to eat “breakfast food” in the morning. Pancakes, muffins, toast, etc will end up making you tired and hungry shortly after eating.

  • But did they look at studies where you take your breakfast, put it in the blender with 1000% more water, blend it in three different directions, take 10% of that and repeat it with another 1000% of water? This increases the efficiency of the breakfast.

  • my med school had a dietician come in to discuss diet counseling for patients with diabetes and they suggested that the best diet plan for this population was a large breakfast medium sized lunch and a small dinner. Any idea if this claim has any support

  • I was told same as a kid. I’m sure Dr G will cover this but it also ties into HPA axis which controls cortisol and interacts with sleep. Cortisol has a distinct circadian rhythm. It peaks 30-45min after waking ( 8:30) then drops to lowest point btw 12:00-4:00 am then rises again. Hormonal imbalances can change this slightly. Cortisol can stimulate hunger noon-1pm and 5-6pm). Checking morning serum cortisol tested @8:30am by blood is most accurate marker plus others (ACTH, DHEA etc) if it’s truly low and every 3 months. If taking prednisone don’t take it prior to test. If you are very low (clinical adrenal insufficiency) see an endo it could be life threatening (in hours) if goes into crisis and if very high also get medical advice. I’ve put this info other places to help others who may not know.

  • Thanks for the video. It would be nice, when you mention other past videos of yours, that you add a link to them in the describtion. Also adding links to sources would be great. Have a nice day:)

  • Disagree. I crash when I eat too much in one sitting. When I split my meals into small amounts (mainly vegetables/fruit and meat) I have 5 times more energy. And having that energy makes me more motivated to go for a run, lift some weights. So effectively I stay in better shape having more energy than not. If I ate only two big meals my blood sugar would spike and I’d feel less like working out. When you say six small meals I think it makes a big difference WHAT you’re eating.

  • The study he mentions about “Daily pattern of energy distribution and weight loss” is free living too. They weren’t locked up in a ward. The data was self reported. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.physbeh.2018.02.036

  • Just eat at 12 and last meal at 6 and drink a lot of water if ur a male drink about 100+ oz of water female about 80 oz a day, also drink 17 oz right when u wake up to keep ur metabolism working even better

  • You know what happens when I don’t eat breakfast? By 10AM, I’m STARVING. And then I’m DESPERATE AND STUFF MYSELF BEYOND FULL BECAUSE I’M SO FUCKING HUNGtRY. I eat far more if I don’t eat breakfast.
How do you not eat breakfast without being SO FUCKING HUNGRY before lunch? It’s not a craving, but rather being willing to sell your shoes for vending machine money. How do you cease hunger so as to not eat, and lose weight? If I could just stop being hungry, I’d lose all the weight I need to.

  • i’m 41 years old male, 6.5, and i was stuck on 112Kgs for two years on OMAD, didn’t lose any freaking weight at all, until i transfer my OMAD dinner to lunch time, problem solved, i drop 10 kgs in the first month, and i keep going = )

  • I bunch all the heavy phytic acid foods in the morning; oats seeds nuts etc they’re higher in calories afterall then I eat the veggies and fruits later in the day with avocado

  • Are the benefits of eating like this just for weight loss? Im a bartender and i work late nights but i still go to the gym after work. Ill usually eat pretty heavy at 2am and then sleep until 12pm or so. Am i going to die?! Lol i actually struggle to keep weight on so i wouldnt eat like this for weight loss but if it were to somehow make me a better soccer player (lowers inflammation, etc) than i would strongly consider it! Lmk whats good doc, thank you for everything!!

  • The “High Caloric intake at breakfast vs. dinner differentially influences weight loss of overweight and obese women” study he discussed was a free living study. They weren’t locked in a metabolic ward and not monitored constantly. They were told how much to eat and did the diet at home and self reported after.
This makes me question the rigour of the study.
    Here is the study:

  • I can’t go to bed and sleep eating like this! My sleep will suffer, my health will decline. Skipping breakfast is the easiest way for me to intermittent fast. Breakfast like a What Breakfast?, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a King. It’s extremely effective for me and I have no reason to quit.

  • This is total nonsense. Eat 6 times a day like I do. I lost over 100 pounds. I eat protein at every meal along with fruits and other foods. Drink water as well.

  • What is the best product or brand to lost tons of fat? I read many good reviews on the internet about how Custokebon Secrets can help you lost tons of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular fat burn secrets?

  • Take in less calories than u burn. This is not some mystery. If u take in 2000, burn 3000. U don’t have to live off salads or raw tuna. U can eat whatever as long as I burn it off.

  • Appreciate video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you ever tried Dinanlinson Amazing Look Approach (should be on google have a look)? It is a good one of a kind guide for learning how to quickly lose weight without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my old buddy Taylor got amazing results with it.

  • You are talking about comparing weight lost of two groups: it seems that these people were overweight to begin with. The point is to keep a good weight as you age. No?

  • Hello there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will really work for me? I notice many people keep on talking about this popular fat burn diet plan.

  • I never heard that phrase before (breakfast like a king…).
I always seem to eat huge meals in the morning.
I tend to skip lunch and for dinner I’m never that hungry to eat huge meals (I also drink 10 cups of water a day so that may also help).
But that meal philosophy is so cool. I’m gonna remember that.

  • The best weight loss for me was when I was not eating anything 3 to 4 hours before going to bed and not eating 16 to 17 hours counting that 3 to 4 hour fast before I go to bed so if I went to bed at seven I wouldn’t eat until at least 11 o’clock noon the next day, it lowers your insulin levels and gives your body a chance to burn fat

  • Has anyone used the Custokebon Secrets to lost a lot of weight? Just do a google search. On there you’ll discover a great guidelines about how exactly you can lost a lot of weight. Why don’t you give it a chance? maybe it’ll work for you too.

  • Stop eating breakfast. Instead eat a moderate lunch and big dinner. No snacks. I swear if you don’t cut body fat in a few months. You can come back to this post and call me out.
    Intermittent Fasting works!

  • I only eat 2 meals a day…I’m 6’3 I weight 180 pounds from 10am to 6pm that’s my meal time I don’t smoke & I don’t drink alcohol.

  • At 13.00 I eat a pasta or can of beans or rice or soup with banana or apple. At 20.00 I eat milk rice pudding with banana or apple. I drink 500 ml of water at 12.00, 13.00, 15.00, 18.00 and 20.00. I go to sleep at 04.00 and wake up at 11.55. I feel quite in good shape…

  • Hello there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will really work for me? I notice many people keep on talking about this popular fat burn diet plan.

  • It just goes to show how people can be different. I have for years eaten nothing at breakfast, little at lunch, and a massive double-dinner. And sometimes I eat again at midnight. It’s when I try to start eating a breakfast, all of a sudden I begin to gain extra bodyfat.

  • For those who is still trying to burn their fat with pills, crazy diets and exercises. That wonderful woman has given tip me how to burn fat fast still eating my favourite morning milkshakes. Watch that short video here NODIET. XCOURSE. XYZ to know how!

  • Can you speak more clearly without mumbling sooo much?
Separe the words plus better pronunciation please!
I love the content of your channel. Thank you!

  • The only thing i learnt is that eating more at breakfast probably means you will eat less at dinner and overall. The ‘isocaloric’ studies were done in a questionable manner as they were largely self reported and unmonitored. If they did lose weight, it was probably because the large breakfast group ate less overall. But you still have to eat fewer calories.

  • Optimal fat loss happens when insulin is low. So imagine skipping breakfast and having lunch/dinner finishing your last meal at 6pm. You fast from 6pm-noon. This allows insulin to fully lower and around 8hrs per day your body is tapping into fat stores.

If you’re eating 6x a day, you’re constantly spiking insulin levels. Then after your last meal, at most you’re getting 8-10 hrs before you eat breakfast. This is only enough time for your insulin to return to normal. So you never truly tap into bodyfat for energy. Now can you lose weight with 6x a day? Yes. But the ultimate goal is to drop excess fat which is not automatically tied to weight loss. This is why you see so many people that lose scale weight that still have high body fat percentages.

  • Keto pills have helped me to lose weight I got them from ketoketo.best and I have lost 37 pounds in 2 months. They put your body into ketosis fast and burn body fat beginners should use them.

  • It’s all about Insulin, the fat storage hormone. Every time you eat your Insulin rises and causes fat storage. I Eat 2 low carb meals a day, 6 am and 6 pm….dropped 10 pounds a month. 230 to 170. Still at 170 for 3 years now.
Stick to meat and vegetables like early humans did for millions of years. They didn’t eat grains and carbs. The only time they ate fruit (fructose) was in summer to fatten up for the long winter. They dont teach much nutrition in Medical School. The emphasis is on diagnosis and medications, when food should be. You absolutely are what you eat.

  • what to eat it says and she shows a load of nutritionless vegetables and a ton of sugar. second guy shows us nuts which arent meant to be digested and are full of toxins, How about shmucks keep all that bollocks and I will enjoy my roast meat and shall suck the marrow from the bones.i.

  • They didn’t account for water loss (which will happen if they eat most of their food in a shorter time window), also the groups didn’t have the same metabolic rates before the experiment (meaning they didn’t burn the same amount of calories), also you cherry picked studies, and also it doesn’t matter if the calories are from junk food or not they are still the same amount of useable energy and finaly what you claim is that the first law of thermodynamics is wrong, if you can proof it please collect your Nobel prize.

  • Here os useful article on how many we should eat a day Do you stick to the three meal structure that’s widely accepted as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or do you add more smaller opportunities to eat throughout the day?

    http://8qrnj.cn/56mZ49Jl4KcQ

  • Were the only species that eat simple carbohydrate. So explain why pigeons and ducks eat bread and rice. Explain how ants eat sugar off the floor…..

  • I see a lot of comments promoting intermittent fasting lately. I know it gives good results in short time, but let’s be honest, do you want to lose weight healthy and be able to eat like this for your entire life, or suffer some time by fasting for instant results, then come back to old habits and then start over again until your metabolism becomes low. I went through both and I’m certain first goes best for me

  • Dose not matter what you eat its not going to give anyone superpowers you can still have poor health eating anything what is so called healthy

  • 3 meals a day is more than enough for me, even 2 large meals a day is good enough for me. I don’t understand people who say they need to eat 6 meals a day, then they wonder why they’re overweight and fat.

  • My doctor told me that I should eat something when I get up, even if it’s just half a banana. Something about getting energy levels up after sleeping (and not eating) for 8-ish hours so i don’t feel tired the rest of the day. It was a few years ago, so I don’t remember the details. What other research is out there on the benefits and/or drawbacks of eating breakfast?

  • So,if i got this right.
If you want to lose weight/fat,eat more in the morning, and less at night,
and if you want to bulk, eat the majority of your calories towards the evening.
Not neseccarily increase or decrease your daily calories, but rather change the timing of your meals.
    Agree?

  • i’ve always seen it like a car engine. If you keep the engine on at all times will degrade the engine really fast. So eating twice a day allows the body to have long intervals where it is not digesting food, and helps the body live longer.

  • Nutritionists lie. The body will adapt to less for and fewer eating periods, ONLY IF YOU EAT THE CORRECT BALANCE OF FOOD… Food will satiate when you eat correctly.

  • Keto pills have helped me to lose weight I got them from ketotrim.me and I have lost 37 pounds in 2 months. They put your body into ketosis fast and burn body fat beginners should use them.

  • It’s simple. Just make sure that calories in is < than calories out. Exercise then it furthers calories burned/ out. But when you do eat, go low carb and eat healthy, not junk. Fastest way to lose naturally. Your insulin will spike no matter what because you have to eat at some point. But 6 meals a day vs 2 is non sense. It’s calories in vs calories out. Simple. I’m shredded btw.

  • Since making breakfast the only meal I eat during the day; I would now have to say, based on the results, it does promote weight loss.

  • The real reason of weightloss is being in a calorie déficit, dont give confusing info. Just find your mantenance calories (body weight in lbs x 14 is a good estimation) and eat below that, a 25% caloric deficit is a good starting point. Food timing is not that important.

My 100lbs weight loss proves this.

  • Listen to Dr berg on 2 meals a day on utube and in general if u r overweight check how to burn fat by dr berg, and check yr bodysimptoms

  • And two other small meals between those, right? Plus two or three smoothies.. Because we’re herbivores and thus we need to live the life of one.

Intermittent fasting must be hell for a vegan.. and the vegan life itself must be so sad, existing only for chewing bland vegetables non stop all day long..

  • I’m interested to see how this plays out for people that really don’t get hungry in the morning. I don’t normally get hungry until about midday, even if I haven’t had a large meal the night before.

  • Never heard of that one before, at least quite like this. What I usually hear (at least at my corner of the planet) in favor of breakfast in regards to weight loss is more about the benefits of just eating regularly and in turn have less random cravings over the day that you may be tempted to fill with “snacks” that definitely won’t help weight loss because they’re cheap and full of sugar and/or fat. Basically, if you had breakfast, you might be less tempted to get that cream-filled-sugar-coated donut on your way to work. Not guaranteed, but it maybe helps? Also, almost certainly doesn’t help if your breakfast was a cream-filled-sugar-coated donut or two.

  • I read many great opinions on the net about how Fenoboci Diet Plan (just search it on google) can help you lost a ton of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular fat loss system?

  • More weight is lost by eating earlier than later in the day. That’s because it’s all about managing your insulin spikes (insulin causes fat storage). Low carb diets cause less insulin spikes and won’t make you pre-diabetic over time.

  • Listen to Dr berg on 2 meals a day on utube and in general if u r overweight check how to burn fat by dr berg, and check yr bodysimptoms

  • Nutritionists lie. The body will adapt to less for and fewer eating periods, ONLY IF YOU EAT THE CORRECT BALANCE OF FOOD… Food will satiate when you eat correctly.

  • What is the best product or brand to lost tons of weight? I read many superb opinions on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost a lot of weight. Has anyone tested out this popular lose weight method?

  • I don’t follow any rules as far as the time I eat, just the same as I don’t follow any rules to determine how many breaths I take in a day, or what distance my feet are apart from each other while running. I eat unprocessed plant foods any time and in any amount I want, and I don’t give it any thought. Like right now, I’m about to eat oat/fruit clusters that I made from scratch, no sugar, or oil added, and I’m going to eat them until I don’t feel like eating any more, and then I’ll know that I ate the right amount at the right time.

  • How does this compare to TRE? I usually have my last meal at 8pm (don’t ever eat after that) and have my first snack at around midday? I have lost quite a bit of weight as a result, but keen to know if reversing would be even better!

  • Like everything related to diets, it depends on what you eat. The issue with breakfast, or any meal for that matter, and for the same caloric input, is what type of food one eats?
As others have pointed out, the aim here is to eat foods that make one feel satiated, and thus skip/not require snacks in between meals.

Cereals or other foods high in carbs are digested quickly. 2-3 hours after eating a meal rich in carbs and the person will feel hungry again, and resort to eating cookies or whatnot, increasing their total caloric input. A “heartier” breakfast, for the same number of calories, will keep the person full for much longer, as the food will require longer to digest.

Does this change the person’s metabolism? Probably not. But changes how they digest their meals and affects the number of calories they consume.

  • I’ve been on intermittent Keto diet. All I eat are fats, protein and low carb vegetables. The only liquids I consume are water, tea and coffee. No sugar added of course. The way to lose weight with a 2 meal a day fast is to make sure not to consume anything in between your meals. Literally. All you drink is water in between. Do this consistently and you will be in better health and shed weight. You will not starve or lose muscle. This is the proper way to lose weight with only 2 meals. I eat at 12:00pm and at 6:00pm. That’s it.

  • Since making breakfast the only meal I eat during the day; I would now have to say, based on the results, it does promote weight loss.

  • Is amount the only variable or the time before sleep a variable? It’s always been sort of an old wives tale that you shouldn’t eat after 20:00. Is there scientific evidence to support that?

  • ive been cutting out large meals and 1 meal with snacks or two meals and small snacks. good news feeling better movement in my joints and a lot of gut exhausting and pooping. as well as adding stretching and bending and walking hills. • or you could just eat less fat.. its important to simplify things and not make life complicated with silly rules, when will you learn

  • Hi there, I was born and raised in Germany, that’s how we used to eat all the time. This concept kinda got lost with most people not going home for lunch to eat, and have a few minutes of rest until going back to work. I still try my best to keep this way of eating as a plant based foodie…
    . Thanks for sharing…

  • This is misleading. Personal anecdotal evidence does not warrant this kind of blanket statement. Early time restricted feeding (intermittent fasting, but only eating earlier in the day) has been proven to work best with the body’s natural circadian rhythm and insulin responses. Do your research.

  • More weight is lost by eating earlier than later in the day. That’s because it’s all about managing your insulin spikes (insulin causes fat storage). Low carb diets cause less insulin spikes and won’t make you pre-diabetic over time.

  • Hi, Zane! Great video! I take your point about having a less caloric breakfast (or doing intermittent fasting). I´m gonna ask you one question: What time do you have dinner?
Having the biggest amount of calories (with carbs and starch) at the end of the day has the benefit of increase the production of melatonin (the chemical that controls the body´s internal clock to regulate sleep) and you will probably fall asleep faster.

However, if you have your biggest meal 1 hour before going to bed, you don´t let your body to digest that food, so you will have a worse sleep.

How many hours do you recommend to give to our body to digest that dinner meal before going to bed?

    Thank you for your attention!

  • The reason why eating like this is the best is because our bodies are more sensitive to insulin the earlier in the day we eat. Isn’t that correct Doc?

  • I read many great opinions on the net about how Fenoboci Diet Plan (just search it on google) can help you lost a ton of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular fat loss system?

  • Thanks for a new and interesting perspective on the daily diet. How late do you suggest eating the heavier meal? I always feel bad going to bed being on the fuller side. I also heard/read from numerous sources that it’s very important to not go to bed with food in your stomach. This is why I eat more earlier on in the day so that by the time I go to bed I don’t have leftover food in my stomach.

  • Anyone tried the Custokebon Secrets? I’ve heard many amazing things about it and my buddy lost lots of weight with Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google).

  • Interesting I wonder if intermittent fasting, in the same manner, would have a similar effect. Eat a big meal at breakfast and fast till next breakfast rather than eating before bed and fasting until bedtime the next day( what I currently do).

  • Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will work for me? I notice a lot of people keep on speaking about this popular lose weight diet plan.

  • So,if i got this right.
If you want to lose weight/fat,eat more in the morning, and less at night,
and if you want to bulk, eat the majority of your calories towards the evening.
Not neseccarily increase or decrease your daily calories, but rather change the timing of your meals.
    Agree?

  • I’ve been on intermittent Keto diet. All I eat are fats, protein and low carb vegetables. The only liquids I consume are water, tea and coffee. No sugar added of course. The way to lose weight with a 2 meal a day fast is to make sure not to consume anything in between your meals. Literally. All you drink is water in between.

  • Try them all and whatever works, go with it. But eating 6 small meals did not work for me. Cutting carbs below 80 grams per day worked. But if you pig out at a buffet, plan on not eating for at least 18 hours and better yet 24 hours. It takes a while to burn off 2700+ calories at a buffet.

  • Another consideration is the size of our stomach. The stomach can stretch a LOT. If we are eating big meals, it seems the stomach doesn’t get used to being smaller. I am trying to lose a bloated stomach. So I cut my meals back to small meals a few times a day. My stomach size is already going down. How this will help weight loss only time will tell, but it is nice to know that when I get hungry, I can eat something. Nothing predicts failure like low blood sugar and hunger. People get frustrated and angry if they can’t eat when hungry.

  • I like how in 2019 people who aren’t a size 0 are being used in advertisement for diets, losing weight, and being healthy.
It’s important to be realistic. No matter how healthy you are a lot of us aren’t built to be super model skinny.

  • I listen to Dr Greger a lot and I really do appreciate all of his work. I learn so much from him. It’s kind of funny to me when plant based doctors start quoting The Bible….. The book of Ecclesiastes was written by Solomon.

  • Can you speak more clearly without mumbling sooo much?
Separe the words plus better pronunciation please!
I love the content of your channel. Thank you!

  • I’m interested to see how this plays out for people that really don’t get hungry in the morning. I don’t normally get hungry until about midday, even if I haven’t had a large meal the night before.

  • 3 meals a day is more than enough for me, even 2 large meals a day is good enough for me. I don’t understand people who say they need to eat 6 meals a day, then they wonder why they’re overweight and fat.

  • As expert, I believe Custokebon Secrets can be good way to lost crazy amounts of weight. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it’s going to work for you too.

  • Has anyone used the Custokebon Secrets to lost a lot of weight? Just do a google search. On there you’ll discover a great guidelines about how exactly you can lost a lot of weight. Why don’t you give it a chance? maybe it’ll work for you too.

  • What about shift workers?! Hope you address that, soon. I usually adhere to the king’s brekky, prince’s lunch and pauper’s dinner. I also use to sleep better during the day and feel more awake at night although, since becoming vegan, there’s not much difference and I sleep well and am wide awake when I’m awake!

  • Do you have anything on muscle protein synthesis?
Also yes your metabolism speeds up which can benefit most people, but what if your goal is caloric restriction in which the goal is to slow the metabolism to extend life span?

  • https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30700403-effect-of-breakfast-on-weight-and-energy-intake-systematic-review-and-meta-analysis-of-randomised-controlled-trials/ That says breakfast causes weight gain and is a higher quality study.

  • I hate eating in the morning and love eating at night, so of cooourse it has to be bad for me….there seems to be an unwritten law in the universe that states anything I enjoy, is bad for me, and everything I hate, I should do every day….

  • • Eating more food doesn’t make you lose weight? That’s poppycock! Burn them at the stake for such devil-talk. (I genuinely wish that the official reports had the word “duh” in them. That would be priceless.)
    • The only way breakfast could make you lose weight is if it caused more satiety, thus making one skip or eat less lunch and dinner. Obviously adding breakfast to the same lunch and dinner as before doesn’t result in weight loss. Duh indeed.

  • Breakfast: 1 cup rolled oats + 2 cups cold water. Microwave 5 minutes. Add half a pinch of chia seeds and some fruit. Eat.
(Don’t skip breakfast; skip the added sugar.)

  • This is total nonsense. Eat 6 times a day like I do. I lost over 100 pounds. I eat protein at every meal along with fruits and other foods. Drink water as well.

  • Well it sort of is the most important meal, because by definition it is your first meal, and I would say eating every day is pretty important.

  • Which is more important? Having the largest meal at breakfast, or the smallest at dinner? I generally like to have a moderate breakfast, and a large lunch, but may have to change that.

  • As expert, I believe Custokebon Secrets can be good way to lost crazy amounts of weight. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it’s going to work for you too.

  • But did they look at studies where you take your breakfast, put it in the blender with 1000% more water, blend it in three different directions, take 10% of that and repeat it with another 1000% of water? This increases the efficiency of the breakfast.

  • Try this. Sleep at 11pm. Wake up at 8am. Eat oatmeal bowl at 8:30. 12:30pm eat a bowl of lean foods with a peace of bread. no oil. And last before 6pm eat another bowl of lean foods. No oil or bread. In between each meal have snacks like an apple or nuts. Don’t eat anything after 6pm just drink water. This will fix your metabolism and you will lose weight. You just need to figure how much you need to eat in each meal. I used an example of a bowl because it works perfectly for me.

  • I know this sir, but still eat crazy meal for dinner because nothing is better than enjoying good meal after a stressful day like u’ve earned it
To make it worse, my dinner is when i got home at around 10pm

  • what to eat it says and she shows a load of nutritionless vegetables and a ton of sugar. second guy shows us nuts which arent meant to be digested and are full of toxins, How about shmucks keep all that bollocks and I will enjoy my roast meat and shall suck the marrow from the bones.i.

  • The reason why eating like this is the best is because our bodies are more sensitive to insulin the earlier in the day we eat. Isn’t that correct Doc?

  • Just eat at 12 and last meal at 6 and drink a lot of water if ur a male drink about 100+ oz of water female about 80 oz a day, also drink 17 oz right when u wake up to keep ur metabolism working even better

  • Excellent video as always, I have an other place to point people towards when they tell me you should eat breakfast, to lose weight.
PS. The new style of thumbnail is really aesthetic

  • Stop eating breakfast. Instead eat a moderate lunch and big dinner. No snacks. I swear if you don’t cut body fat in a few months. You can come back to this post and call me out.
    Intermittent Fasting works!

  • I’ve been doing intermittent fastening, apple cider vinegar, and better food choices daily and lost 56 lbs in 3 months. I finally reached my goal and will continue to go strong. It takes a lot of willpower and determination, but I did it and so can anyone Go here to learn more: HootFat.com

  • So the research is not very good quality but we’re going to skim over that because the results don’t challenge our previous conclusions? That doesn’t sound like good science.

    Greeting.

  • I listen to Dr Greger a lot and I really do appreciate all of his work. I learn so much from him. It’s kind of funny to me when plant based doctors start quoting The Bible….. The book of Ecclesiastes was written by Solomon.

  • Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will work for me? I notice a lot of people keep on speaking about this popular lose weight diet plan.

  • So the research is not very good quality but we’re going to skim over that because the results don’t challenge our previous conclusions? That doesn’t sound like good science.

  • i’ve always seen it like a car engine. If you keep the engine on at all times will degrade the engine really fast. So eating twice a day allows the body to have long intervals where it is not digesting food, and helps the body live longer.

  • he did a bariatric surgery on me in 2009…….. i spent almost two months at lenox hill hospital on an “IV diet” thanks to complications following the surgery…. almost ten years later… and i am pretty much decomposing. now im watching this video of a fat man…trying to coach people on the best way to lose weight……SMH…i want to reverse time

  • I have one important question though when did these people weight themselves? Because if they did so in the morning, that might explain at like a pound or two’s difference…?

  • Well it sort of is the most important meal, because by definition it is your first meal, and I would say eating every day is pretty important.

  • I know this sir, but still eat crazy meal for dinner because nothing is better than enjoying good meal after a stressful day like u’ve earned it
To make it worse, my dinner is when i got home at around 10pm

  • Love Dr. Greger, and I’m glad the science has caught up with long understood knowledge. I learned this back in the 80’s watching Gilad Janklowicz on Bodies in Motion.

  • How does this compare to TRE? I usually have my last meal at 8pm (don’t ever eat after that) and have my first snack at around midday? I have lost quite a bit of weight as a result, but keen to know if reversing would be even better!

  • I have one important question though when did these people weight themselves? Because if they did so in the morning, that might explain at like a pound or two’s difference…?

  • Thank you, Dr. Greger, for this “timely” info and great new format! I’m happy I get to see you and can read what you’re referencing!

  • Keto pills have helped me to lose weight I got them from premketo.com and I have lost 37 pounds in 2 months. They put your body into ketosis fast and burn body fat beginners should use them.

  • The study he mentions about “Daily pattern of energy distribution and weight loss” is free living too. They weren’t locked up in a ward. The data was self reported. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.physbeh.2018.02.036

  • Donavon Hyder I drink a “happy” coffee that is hormone based! Helping with all things hormones. I have lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks, my energy is on point & appetite suppression is solid! I don’t emotionally eat anymore! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1637137069927393/ this is where I found it!

  • Interesting I wonder if intermittent fasting, in the same manner, would have a similar effect. Eat a big meal at breakfast and fast till next breakfast rather than eating before bed and fasting until bedtime the next day( what I currently do).

  • Keto pills have helped me to lose weight I got them from premketo.com and I have lost 37 pounds in 2 months. They put your body into ketosis fast and burn body fat beginners should use them.

  • Dose not matter what you eat its not going to give anyone superpowers you can still have poor health eating anything what is so called healthy

  • or you could just eat less fat.. its important to simplify things and not make life complicated with silly rules, when will you learn

  • Take in less calories than u burn. This is not some mystery. If u take in 2000, burn 3000. U don’t have to live off salads or raw tuna. U can eat whatever as long as I burn it off.

  • I stumbled into this diet after my work schedule didnt allow me lunch. I have been doing it for one month now and i feel great. I even started cooking more and am saving money from fast food. I have lost weight and i hardly got any cramps from my period.

  • It just goes to show how people can be different. I have for years eaten nothing at breakfast, little at lunch, and a massive double-dinner. And sometimes I eat again at midnight. It’s when I try to start eating a breakfast, all of a sudden I begin to gain extra bodyfat.

  • Cool video! Watching this, your style of presentation reminds me a little of this chap. Go have a looksie……. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jI4TMKXM-U

  • Were the only species that eat simple carbohydrate. So explain why pigeons and ducks eat bread and rice. Explain how ants eat sugar off the floor…..

  • I only eat 2 meals a day…I’m 6’3 I weight 180 pounds from 10am to 6pm that’s my meal time I don’t smoke & I don’t drink alcohol.

  • Love Dr. Greger, and I’m glad the science has caught up with long understood knowledge. I learned this back in the 80’s watching Gilad Janklowicz on Bodies in Motion.

  • Do you have anything on muscle protein synthesis?
Also yes your metabolism speeds up which can benefit most people, but what if your goal is caloric restriction in which the goal is to slow the metabolism to extend life span?

  • Just started to eat like this! I can’t figure out what to eat though. Any ideas? i always skip breakfast and to go for 0-700 is a big change haha i don’t know where to start

  • What is the best product or brand to lost tons of weight? I read many superb opinions on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost a lot of weight. Has anyone tested out this popular lose weight method?

  • And two other small meals between those, right? Plus two or three smoothies.. Because we’re herbivores and thus we need to live the life of one.

Intermittent fasting must be hell for a vegan.. and the vegan life itself must be so sad, existing only for chewing bland vegetables non stop all day long..
