  • 1:10 Would you like some moth soup or stag beetle larvae on toast, hmm no no I think I’ll just stick with clam chowder and some garlic bread thank you very much.

  • I like how the queen has this “I have had enough of this s***” attitude with the rest of the family and the fact that 3/4 of them dont even want to be royalty

  • Ro tried hard and it’s actually looks good…and that was made from frosting it’s aprriciateable and those mountains were looking amazing

  • 30+ grand for a pretty fuhgly looking contraption that is no way gonna give its moneys-worth in useable energy HaHaHaHaaaa!!

  • Kay I don’t know why I watched this now but when I did I was so surprised like I can’t do that with paint but I guess you can do anything if you put your mind to it. I honestly loved this video, it was great to see this side of Rosanna! Rosanna you should definitely make another one of these videos! Amazing job!❤️

  • Good news college students! Can’t afford to buy meat, but still want something meaty to eat? Worry no more! Now you can start your own edible insects farm with our diy insect farm bundle for only $19.99! Buy now or you will miss this awesome opportunity!

  • And Dawkins wants to eat human meat because of global warming, population booming out of control and every other excuse he can think of. These are all lies to drag us down a most indecent path. Eating insects would be ok in some circumstances, like to prevent starvation, but just because we can, I think not!

  • Rosana: Paints her first trees and mountains
Me: 153.4th time painting a mountain
The result from Rosana’s: Super realistic
    The result mine:
    Me: oof

  • FIRST COMMENT John you’re Da Man my friend! Bought some Purslane seeds from you last year. Quick Q… Got little black spots all over my longevity and okinawan spinach. Is my 2019 a bust? What would you do?

  • it’ll mean a bunch to me if anyone has the time to answer a consumer survey on alternative proteins!! It takes 3 minutes and your opinion will really help in my postgrad research:)

  • Western society has kind of stigmatized eating insects. Hopefully this doesn’t get in the way of insects becoming an efficient and sustainable source of food for future societies.

  • If they can grind them and season them to look like steaks I would be up for it

Can you imagine the gains you would get from that with a muscle training regime??

  • I usually cringe when I see a new product released out of the USA.. usually it is invented for one purpose to make as much money as possible.. this product is no different.

  • Smart Flower was an Austrian company first, but they went bankrupt a year ago.
And now: $31,000 for roughly 3000 kWh per year?
It looks nice, but not THAT nice!
Normal photovoltaics costs a fraction of this.
Even a similar looking “PV-flower” without moving parts would cost just a fraction of this.
And it would just has to be about 20% bigger (diameter) to get the same yield.

  • 1:10 Would you like some moth soup or stag beetle larvae on toast, hmm no no I think I’ll just stick with clam chowder and some garlic bread thank you very much.

  • in the bible God granted the chosen people to eat meat only after the flood. cows eats grass which is very harty. Insects no eats plants that are lower on the plant health scale… not fully photosynthesizing. When a plant gets so healthy and are photosynthesizing so much insects nolonger are attracted to em. That is how a swarm of locus could eat a field down to the roots while leaving the field next door untouched. If the plants in the field next door is too healthy and is photosynthesizing much more then they no longer see it as food. So… but also having some way to digest grass if not by cow with their four stomachs then.. so we can digest grasses

  • They don’t want those peasants to think they can have good things. They might start to think they deserve a government that cares for them

  • There’s an insect called cochineal that is a red food coloring in our food already. I never knew that until I saw it in juice and looked it up. I figured it was okay with me.

  • HOW?!!!!! I can’t even do that with normal paints!! N she did it with FROSTING!!! Now that’s what u call talent! She’s soo talented!!

  • Awesome. Do these flowers do better in shade during the Winter? I don’t know anything about growing flowers, especially here in Arizona LOL. But I’m really interested in this. I bet my kids would love it too; they love eating straight from the garden. My moringa just started coming back and I had to fence them all off to keep the kids away

  • If humans suffer for food in future insects cannot going to solve this problem we need to work on some other methods to get food instead eating insects

  • Seems like the insects they eat in other parts of the world are quite big and look quite appetizing. Mealy worms on the other hand….

  • YESSSSSS I AM SO GLAD SOME EPISODES OF A CROWN OF CANDY ARE COMING OUT I ALWAYS MISS THEM LIVE I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT EPISODES U PUT OUT (really hoping it’s all of them )

  • That’s so cool! it’s amazing how you followed a BOB ROSS painting with BUTTERCREAM instead of paint! if you put so much time and effort into this masterpiece (1 whole year ago)…

You just gained a subscriber congrats!

  • I just bought a sample pack of whole roasted crickets exo protein. I thought they where going to taste like the hotlix crickets you get at amusement parks but I was totally wrong about that, they tasted AMAZING, the packages were kind of small, but the size was worth the experience. If you want something between traditional oaxacan chapulines and Doritos this is for you

  • Have these people not eat for a week and see if they think they’re “gross”. So weird how humans are so picky about food that will sustain them. I guess abundance has really made people picky who have had it easy in life.

  • Locusts are rich in everything needed in a good meal. I am not sure why locals that have locust plagues don’t eat them.

Maybe it isn’t the nicest sounding idea but if you haven’t eaten in a few days, some roated locusts sound pretty good.

  • Am I the only one who looks at this and thinks that it’s the new c band sattelite dish of this era? Would be great if it could get that ubiquitous. The price needs to come waaaaaay down for that to happen though.

  • I own a bearded dragon and I was experimenting with his crickets
I put around ten crickets into a bag and put them in the fridge. I had heard that they could hibernate
Now I’m sitting here waiting for them to wake up while watching this video
    And then I hear
“Freezing crickets is a humane way of killing them”

    Big rip for me

  • Cool. I wonder if your body can absorb that all in one go, or if you just end up expelling large amounts of unabsorbed phytonutrients

  • [queue curious music] I’ve got a clean, renewable, green, fair trade, equal opportunity, energy generation Kickstarter: Imagine a flesh-light with a moving magnetic dynamo, so you can generate between 100 and 1000000 watts per hour, depending on your virility, excitement and level of commitment.

[queue uplifting music] We found that in just one hour, you can power 4x average family homes electrical needs for a full week* without using ANY power from the grid, the sun, waves, tides or fossil fuels. (*tested on the average teenage male on a typical weekend).

[queue musical crescendo] Come back us on Kickstarter today. Change the world.

  • And creating technology that is 800X more toxic than waste nuclear fuel… wooow way to go. So, called renewables are not environmentally friendly. Due to various heavy metals and other materials used in the construction….

  • I only eat about 2 lbs to 3 lbs of meat a day. But once I get a garden going ill get some greens in me also. But flowers sound like a stomach ache to me. I’m getting older so I’m having to watch what I eat more.

  • John, thank you so, so much for the edible flower site. I eat so many wild edibles and wild flowers and this is a great resource that I hadn’t seen before. Like you I eat a plant based diet and try to incorporate as many wild foods as I can find. Maybe some dates, or lemon with ginger would have improved the flavor of your flower drink. Also blueberry juice would have really helped the flavor.

  • Seems like the insects they eat in other parts of the world are quite big and look quite appetizing. Mealy worms on the other hand….

  • I always forget about my chrysanthemums, but i do love my radish and bassica flowers. Various cultures do do flower infusions and jams, which are pretty cool. Sometimes, all they use are the petals, not the whole flower.

  • Before the 70’s, specifically, before the 50’s, father’s worked and mothers stayed home.
It was enough income for a family.
Mother’s now work so DON’T have time to have a similar garden as John, nor have the time to harvest the produce and prepare it as John does.
Mother’s work 8 hrs., go home, are tired, prepare a meal, clean the home, and have to do it all over again.

We need to go back to an economy where mothers CAN stay home, IF, IF they wanted to.

We need mothers preparing healthy and delicious food.
Or, the father can stay home and tend a garden, prepare the produce, prepare the meals, if the woman works.
But it’d be nice if ONE parent stayed home.
    (I can dream, can’t i?)
Well, even if both work, some gardening is better than no gardening at all.
All can learn from Growing Your Greens.

Nitrites, processed cheese, Kool aid…Oh, Lord. Help us.
Thank the Lord for health channels on youtube)

  • I have another question will you except my electric bill payment any on grid electric to supplement none functioning periods and let me pay until it no longer functions if so you have a deal but it’ll never pay for it’s self

  • That’s so cool! it’s amazing how you followed a BOB ROSS painting with BUTTERCREAM instead of paint! if you put so much time and effort into this masterpiece (1 whole year ago)…

You just gained a subscriber congrats!

  • I’m growing zinnias mixed in with my veggies this year (just because they’re pretty) and didn’t know they were edible until a few days ago! I will definitely be adding them to my diet this summer. I absolutely love your content John you really encourage me to be healthier.

  • I really love about John is he is so honest and has best information. Thanks John that seems like good way to get nutrition frm edible flowers as i donot like eating them. I will try that with orange juice.

  • FIRST COMMENT John you’re Da Man my friend! Bought some Purslane seeds from you last year. Quick Q… Got little black spots all over my longevity and okinawan spinach. Is my 2019 a bust? What would you do?

  • John: with flowers it is good to follow the rule of the rainbow! Red light is the lowest vibration and purple light is the highest vibration. RED_>PURPLE.

  • Moving parts bolts nuts, rust, dust will deteriorate. It appears beautiful, any flying debris during windy times will smash this panel to pieces, its cost is sky high and is many times more than the total electricity bill of a lifetime for one house in India not considering the bank interest on this amount. In this much money one man can build a small new house itself:D Only fools who admire beauty will buy this product

  • Wow. This turned about really beautiful. Yesterday I drew exactly the same painting, but in the end it turns to something different

  • VERY VERY costly. In poor countries we could hires HUMANS REAL HUMAN to adjust the panel.
No AI system make it cheaper.

    Everyone wart to earn
But no one want to give

  • The Green New Deal would promote and accelerate ALL these nascent, budding technologies/breakthroughs of which there are hundreds and current USA incumbent Government will not, they will do the opposite.

  • I paid one tenth for my fixed flat panels than this thing costs, and my panels produce half again more power. But I must admit the flower design is fun to look at.

  • I am sorry, but they did not start out anything; it started out in Austria/ Germany. Yet that company filed for insolvency last year.

  • No words, only Bravo, Brennan. Bravo for making the most ambitious, funny, and dramatic story of sweetness and strength. Props to the cast and crew as always! For Candia!

  • Yes the actuator that “follows the Sun” can increase the efficiency by 30%.
The shape of flower and the useless “blooming mechanism” make the whole thing 500% more expensive while adding lot of “moving parts” into equation.
    #KISS Keep It Simple, Stupid!

  • I’m an American, and an outdoor survival instructor. I could never understand why insects are repulsive to us. They’re full of protein, and most are quite edible after cooking, and they’re free. If you can’t afford meat, well, insects are a good alternative. Anyone who doesn’t have a legal course against them, can buy a rifle, learn to use it, learn to hunt. You can forage. Stinging Nettles are one of the best sources of nutrition on the planet. Learn what you can, can not eat, then go for it. There’s absolutely NO reason, except for a prejudiced mind, to go hungry in this country.

  • $30,000? Yikes

Where I am (South Africa) that’s equals R450,000 (Rands). That’s way expensive. We put systems on temple’s houses that cost R100,000 to R120,000. So about a quarter.

Granted I’m not sure about the flower’s power output. However, to power a single household this is way too expensive.

  • This will be extremely expensive, all the mechanics and electronics needed for the tiny efficiency gain of tilting the solar panels. Forget it.

  • This is why I have Youtube premium…10 years ago this master would have been undiscovered. Youtube is the most democratic”institution” on the planet. Anyone…ANYONE…can make their mark for basically free. Youtube… STAY DEMOCRATIC! We love you! And you John, made my day. I almost bought gravel from Home Depot to hide my ugly dirt…and then I thought, hummm, I’m a JUICER…what could I grow easily?

  • I’m all for it, I’d love for edible insects to be more widely available in America. And not just the little snack bags, but fresh potentially live insects to take home and make an abundance of different meals with. I can’t lie I haven’t even eaten any, but being from Oklahoma it’s hard to get ahold of things such as this unless you’re in a bigger City and know where to go or order online. But it would be a lot healthier for us and would help to reduce carbon immitions and reduce the amount of water being used amongst other things.

  • Why do you have to have all those moving parts? That just increase the chances of a mechanical failure and the complexity increases the cost of repair.

There are already setups that track the sun. People who design Power Ranger gear probably designed this.

  • If it was any good they would have told you how many Kilowatts of Electricity it can produce an hour.
Twenty five thousand, ‘No’, for that kind of money I give myself a budget of six thousand, buy the parts, call in help when I need it and make it my Self.
As long as People live under a Roof, Nothing will be cheaper, Nothing will ever make More sense and Nothing will ever beat Solar Roof Tiles, anything else is just trying a Thing so if their not going to try and improve on that Concepts Power yield, they may as Well save their Investors Money and Spin on their Heads.

    It has No Patented parts

  • This is probably one the most remarkable examples I’ve seen of biomimicry. Amazing work and wishing you much success, hopefully no planned obsolescence in the design or systems!

  • Cool consept, but with cost per watt beeing three times more than regular solar panels, i see absolutly no reason for this other than some companies using it to show off their green profile.

  • So, what….30KUSD for 2KWp? Are you insane? With classical average panels, 2KWp is around 2-2.5KEUR…if you go for high end panels like LG you might end-up to 3.5-4KEUR. SO, why anyone would pay this amount?

  • As an engineer… I don’t believe in any of it, they need to show the number… And compare to another conventional system in the same conditions.

  • I like how it shades the ground like a tree. Any house owner can put these in in the place of a tree. Much easier installation than on a roof and much better efficiency due to the tracking.

  • Me watches ro’s channel for the 1st time
Me:Wow!she can bake!and she is so beautiful
Me watches her channel for the 2nd time
    Wow!now she can sing!
Me watches her channel for the second time: omg! Now she can paint!
Me:SHE IS INFINITY TIMES BETTER THAN ANY DISNEY PRINCESS!!!!!!

  • Ok, so it’s a solar tracker, which isn’t anything new, it’s just an expense that most people don’t want,, making it open up seems like a liability because that’s another moving part that can fail, and when that fails your flower won’t do so well, plus the design minimizes the total available solar power if you do that instead of just a square arrangement of panels that track the Sun. So it self cleans, the solar is on the ground you can spray it with a hose, cleaning is not as big of an issue as people make out unless you live in an extremely filthy environment. I will concede that those who live in heavily snowy areas this could be useful to open and close, however it does snow during the day and I wonder what that extra weight would do to the “pedals”, but I guess it could close up for protection. However this is the killer, $25000 for a system that is 2.5kW, plus installation, $10/watt is a extremely expensive for solar, a quick google shows a tracker that can hold up to 4kW of panels for under $10k, 2.5kW of panels, LG, for about $2500, and an invert for $2k, so easily $10k less and this is without any serious looking for deals.

  • A bold and visual statement that is unfortunately over-priced. If your primary goal is to have a giant mechanical sculpture, that will run a FEW appliances; you’re in the right place. Go to ANY legit solar provider and the first thing you’re met with are hard numbers on the amount of power you can expect. These folks hide the numbers because they are not competitive. I need actual electricity, not WOW factor.

  • I went to China and I taste these.. and I will never taste it again simple and easy.. but if they include it in my protein shake and the flavor is not there I will drink it

  • Has this always been on YouTube?! I swear I’ve been looking for more Dimension 20 stuff for months but I thought it was all just on Dropout.

  • Great
    Invention is invention..
We should appreciate, whom they did it..
For the SONY company always go for invention..
    And the PANASONIC always
after the SONY, with some additional changes/ features in the market.

  • any solar tracking set of panels does better, but it comes at a cost of extra hardware that must be maintained. in the long run it is cheaper to just ditch the tracking hardware and install more fixed panels.

  • Insects taste quit good if they are fried. Or insect burger pattys are ok too. Before i tried it was disgusting for me to even think about eating insects, but after I’ve overcome myself to eat it it was quit nice actually:D Much more people need to be more open for that, it is super healthy and not bad for the envirement. It is not as bad as many people think it is.

  • HUH?! I HAD THIS CANDY AND I DIDNT LIKE IT AND I PUT IT INSIDE GUM TO FLAVOUR IT E I THOUGHT IT WAS MADE TO FLAVOR GUM WITH NO FLAVOUR

  • The song from the “Hand eye” joke is
And I will always love you

    I forgot the artist

Edit: Before knowing Joey and Jamie were different, I always thought Jamie was a bootleg version of Joey. LOL

  • Cool. I wonder if your body can absorb that all in one go, or if you just end up expelling large amounts of unabsorbed phytonutrients

  • I bought it but it’s not a powder which turns into gum it’s a powder which is clumped in chunks and the chunks are so hard like a rock…

  • Hey! I enjoy this content. I am a meat eater. I have lost 50 pounds over the past two  winters. I consumed basically grains, sprouts and beans with fish.  I am not against meat, as long as it is clean. I harvest wild greens in my yard. I have grown beet greens and dandelion greens in my kitchen garden. I grow many things to augment soups and chilis. Flowers are good because of the pollen content, I believe.

What about Europe? I don’t know about you but here we don’t really practice arthopodofagy. Or shamanism. Or tribal warfare. Or anything as backwards as eating insects so that our elites can eat proper food, you know.

  • Brother, I luv your channel but I will be honest, I don’t have time to watch a 20 min video. I use YouTube to gather news and information. Three twenty min videos consumes and hour I don’t have to spare. Step up the pace and condense the information.

  • The song from the “Hand eye” joke is
And I will always love you

    I forgot the artist

Edit: Before knowing Joey and Jamie were different, I always thought Jamie was a bootleg version of Joey. LOL

  • I really love about John is he is so honest and has best information. Thanks John that seems like good way to get nutrition frm edible flowers as i donot like eating them. I will try that with orange juice.

  • i must say i love to eat cricket and i like how invromenly friendly they are but i am deep consernd about the invesive spescie risk

  • If humans suffer for food in future insects cannot going to solve this problem we need to work on some other methods to get food instead eating insects

  • has there ever been videos on whoever makes the boards? this one just looks like it was so much fun to design and create, I’d love to hear from the person who did it

  • I think adding honey might help with the taste. Perhaps making a local honey and water solution to blend the flowers into would be a better choice.

  • Ohh my gosh I’m finding out about this now?!! Just saw the Mcelroys adventure zone and saw theres an ep with them in it i’m like blown away and excited and so glad I found a new channel that I could sink into

  • normal people pay only around 1k per 1kwh.. So if it generates 2k that’s like 2k max.. I can get 5k system with battery for like 5-6k.. wake up..

  • Outstanding…..how many different config sizes are there? How much power nominally does the unit produce in Eastern North America in “Albany, N.Y.?”

How much is it to “buy, land, and setup?” What is NYSERDA doing still for incentives, if any please?

Finally, I drive a crane truck now…need any help in upstate NY with a clean CDL-A/B?!

  • I gave in there is enough Dimension 20 content now on Dropout that I can binge watch for weeks and likely still not be caught up so Drop out Sub time

  • Immediately love Murphs character. He has consistently had my favourtes in every season. Save for Griffons character in the live show ilhe played in.

  • So the king can’t coup? But if a king and queen were in kaboots about a coup, the coup is true? A count can also coup, but is the coup even true?

  • I always forget about my chrysanthemums, but i do love my radish and bassica flowers. Various cultures do do flower infusions and jams, which are pretty cool. Sometimes, all they use are the petals, not the whole flower.

  • Ok but like where’s EP 2? Same thing as Tiny Heist and Fantasy High Season 2 and The Unsleeping City. Do I have to finally cave and get Dropout???

  • I’m growing zinnias mixed in with my veggies this year (just because they’re pretty) and didn’t know they were edible until a few days ago! I will definitely be adding them to my diet this summer. I absolutely love your content John you really encourage me to be healthier.

  • Bruh why do think God made tomatoes, wheat, rice this is not the food of the future and its not for everyone I love the inviroment but not like this

  • i must say i love to eat cricket and i like how invromenly friendly they are but i am deep consernd about the invesive spescie risk

  • Insects taste quit good if they are fried. Or insect burger pattys are ok too. Before i tried it was disgusting for me to even think about eating insects, but after I’ve overcome myself to eat it it was quit nice actually:D Much more people need to be more open for that, it is super healthy and not bad for the envirement. It is not as bad as many people think it is.

  • They don’t want those peasants to think they can have good things. They might start to think they deserve a government that cares for them

  • Rosana: Paints her first trees and mountains
Me: 153.4th time painting a mountain
The result from Rosana’s: Super realistic
    The result mine:
    Me: oof

  • I went to China and I taste these.. and I will never taste it again simple and easy.. but if they include it in my protein shake and the flavor is not there I will drink it

  • There’s a reason why we shouldn’t eat bugs, as human beings we require a higher caloric intake and naturally a roach won’t fill our belly’s. Now a thumper or jack rabbit will. The work it would take to catch a few bugs for a “meal” is not as lucrative as the time it would take too hunt a rabbit, deer or wild boar. Sorry but as a meal? Bugs will not Suffice. But as a snack? maybe.

  • John: with flowers it is good to follow the rule of the rainbow! Red light is the lowest vibration and purple light is the highest vibration. RED_>PURPLE.

  • Hi ro I just wanted to say I have been watching your videos since I was three years old and if you would like to know the video it was the frozen doll cakes and I have been watching you ever since and only when I’m 10 years old I realize that I am not subscribed I changed that very quickly love you ro

  • THE FACT THAT THE MISSING 3 EPISODES THAT THEY DIDNT GET TO DO AND THE FUCKING SETS ARE HERE IN THE INTRO. GOD THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO GOOD!
PANGRANOS WAS RIGHT THERE! AND FUCKING FRUCTERA!!!

  • HOW?!!!!! I can’t even do that with normal paints!! N she did it with FROSTING!!! Now that’s what u call talent! She’s soo talented!!

  • I think adding honey might help with the taste. Perhaps making a local honey and water solution to blend the flowers into would be a better choice.

  • And Dawkins wants to eat human meat because of global warming, population booming out of control and every other excuse he can think of. These are all lies to drag us down a most indecent path. Eating insects would be ok in some circumstances, like to prevent starvation, but just because we can, I think not!

  • Good news college students! Can’t afford to buy meat, but still want something meaty to eat? Worry no more! Now you can start your own edible insects farm with our diy insect farm bundle for only $19.99! Buy now or you will miss this awesome opportunity!

  • Locusts are rich in everything needed in a good meal. I am not sure why locals that have locust plagues don’t eat them.

Maybe it isn’t the nicest sounding idea but if you haven’t eaten in a few days, some roated locusts sound pretty good.

  • Have these people not eat for a week and see if they think they’re “gross”. So weird how humans are so picky about food that will sustain them. I guess abundance has really made people picky who have had it easy in life.

  • The thing with most people knowing they are insects and that’s what grosses us out. If they didn’t look like insects I don’t think anyone would care.

  • I’m sorry I’m late, as a producer of spare parts. We should come earlier to bring down the price of sunflowers. So that people can not only afford clean energy, but also get an affordable price. Now attract investment from all over the world. We also have fixed sunflowers in areas where there is no strong wind. Keep following me and bring more surprises.

  • you need a wind test. put it in a wind tunnel let see how much it can take.(in safe mode will it last in a hurricane ) and can you make one that works as a windmill if there is no sun?(or even if there is sun sometimes)

  • The actual pain that is in Lou’s eyes as his wife insults him is heart breaking:( The fact that they get into their character’s mindset and etc. so much is incredible!!

  • There’s an insect called cochineal that is a red food coloring in our food already. I never knew that until I saw it in juice and looked it up. I figured it was okay with me.

  • Brother, I luv your channel but I will be honest, I don’t have time to watch a 20 min video. I use YouTube to gather news and information. Three twenty min videos consumes and hour I don’t have to spare. Step up the pace and condense the information.

  • Ro tried hard and it’s actually looks good…and that was made from frosting it’s aprriciateable and those mountains were looking amazing

  • Bruh why do think God made tomatoes, wheat, rice this is not the food of the future and its not for everyone I love the inviroment but not like this

  • I bought it but it’s not a powder which turns into gum it’s a powder which is clumped in chunks and the chunks are so hard like a rock…
