Of course, there may be room to add cottonseed oil to an already healthy diet that incorporates healthier oils, such as olive oil, if you want to try cottonseed oil out, says Hunnes. For example, because it has a relatively high smoke point, cottonseed oil would make a. But cottonseed oil, harvested from the seeds of the cotton plant, is considered a vegetable oil. According to the American Heart Association, this vegetable oil — high in polyunsaturated fat and low in saturated fat — is a “healthy cooking oil” that’s good for your heart[ * ].
Cottonseed oil must be refined to remove gossypol. This naturally occurring toxin gives the oil its yellow color and protects the plant from insects. Unrefined cottonseed oil.
What’s more, cottonseed oil may contain natural toxins and probably has unacceptably high levels of pesticide residues (cotton is not classified as a food crop, and farmers use many agrichemicals when growing it). Be on the lookout for cottonseed oil in packaged foods and avoid products that contain it. A new study suggests cottonseed oil consumption significantly increases vitamin E intake without affecting fat intake, according to nutrition researchers at Texas Woman’s University (TWU), Houston, Texas. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), vitamin E is a “nutrient of concern” for children, adolescents and adults.
Eating foods rich in cottonseed oil may help supply the right amount of linoleic acid that the hair requires, or even better yet, consume a high quality cottonseed oil in supplemental form. 2. Its use as an anti-fertility agent began after studies demonstrated that men, who had used crude cottonseed oil for their cooking, had low sperm counts followed by total testicular failure.

In the mid to late 2000s, the consumer trend of avoiding trans fats, and mandatory labeling of trans fats in some jurisdictions, sparked an increase in the consumption of cottonseed oil, with some health experts and public health agencies recommending it as a healthy oil. RAPESEED OIL IS poison to the body and another name thats used to conceal it is….CANOLA. OIL….RESEARCH RAPESEED….ITS IN ALMOST ALL PEANUT BUTTER AND WE FEED IT TO THE. ELDERLY. AND OUR CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much for this concise video about oils. Tallow is from cattle. Is it safe because we don’t know if the lard is form cattle that have been treated with medications or fed GMO? Is that a pertinent question? I eat the eggs, fed non GMO grain. I splurge on organic veggies. (Why not? I don’t drink or smoke. I must spend my money on something!-a little joke.). I’m confused about what appears to be oils versus lard. The lard at my grocer’s has no statement about added hormones, etc. I’m aware of the eat meat diet versus the Mediterian diet of small amounts of meat.
I don’t know if animal fats would be any better at lubricating the skin or holding onto moisture than vegetable oils but they may provide some other benefit.
I think I am deficient in linoleic acid due to my continuous use of avocados, avocado oil and olive oil as my primary dietary fat source. I think this lack of this omega-6 fat has been a huge contributor to my gut issues. I decided to incorporate organic grape seed oil into my diet starting a few days ago and I’m already feeling better.
I don’t know if animal fats would be any better at lubricating the skin or holding onto moisture than vegetable oils but they may provide some other benefit.
GOLDMINE of information. Very,. very good video. It’s good to check some of the foods you have been buying to see if they include these items. I know that some of these oils often show up in non natural peanut butters and some other high fat products.
Read the labels! (I know this one is squarely on me) For the last few years I was using “olive oil” for and on everything, low heat cooking, salad dressing, and just a topping for everything: Meat, fish, veg, quinoa. I’m a healthy person with an excellent diet and maintain a healthy weight for my height (6’1 @ 175 lbs). However, my blood triglycerides we’re always high (around 200 mg/dL) and no matter my died and exercise I could not get them down. At my last physical my Dr. strongly recommended going on a statin. I told him no, let’s retest in 6 months and see if I can make some diet/lifestyle changes.
I got home and was both frustrated and depressed. I exercise regularly: cardio and yoga and kettle bell circuits with long weekend bike rides. I drink a minimum of 100 ounces (four 25oz bottles) of water a day + tea and food based water to meet hydration goals) I don’t smoke, I occasionally have a beer or a glass of scotch… Very occasionally, I don’t eat processed foods. I don’t eat junk food (ok I live in California so I do have the occasional taco Tuesday bender). I exercise regularly, and my diet consists primarily of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats with no wheat and very few deliberate carbs (no one can ever just give a pasta completely). What could I do?
I started looking at everything in the fridge and pantry and finally grabbed my big dark green bottle of olive oil. Now this brand of olive oil with the fancy Italian name I’ve been using for 10 years. Figures prominently on the shelf of my market in the olive oil section and comes in a nice dark green bottle with nothing but olives on the label and in big letters proudly states “extra virgin olive oil cold press”… then I noticed it! In very fine print above the very large letters of “extra-virgin olive oil cold press” “premium quality” were the words “canola oil and.l Turns out my dark green bottle of extra virgin olive oil cold press premium quality was 90% canola oil blend it with 10% olive oil. I have been poisoning myself for a decade!
Needless to say those moderately expensive bottles took an express trip to the trash. And I walked to Barrons and got some new Nice dark green bottles of label inspected 100% pure extra-virgin olive oil first press cold press… That will now be the staple in my pantry.
I’m on a fast today and tomorrow (I intermittently fast at least two times a week but for the next two days I’m on a hard water only fast). I will then go back on my carefully researched highly organized and well constructed diet but this time without smothering everything in canola oil poison. Looking forward now to my blood test in September.
I just had a food sensitivity test done and turns out coconut is on the list. So I am now looking for a new oil since I usually cook with coconut oil. I heard at one point that olive oil cooked causes it to oxidize. Is olive oil only good if it’s used cold? Or is it safe to cook with?
This is the very first time I watched one of your videos. It is very informative and I agree with everything you say. I wish you would lighten up a little bit because you seem a bit stiff and maybe smile much more! Maybe you’ve changed and I’ll see that in some later videos. Nice work. Thank you very much!
Important question for you Leanne…grapeseed oil bad…they use it in many, many anti-aging creams these days and many beauty guru on here love those products. Since our skin absorbs o much that we put on it I asume it i far better to avoid thoe product and tick with moisturizer that have aloe vera & coconut oil in them. Would that be correct? Just found you as I do intermittent fasting and the challenge has been what to eat during my OMAD & of course keto, Would really appreciate a response from you. I am eating all this knowledge up lol!! Thx!!
Isa 66 is about Yashua (Jesus) 2nd coming see vs 17, He finds those sinning via having Pig stuck in their teeth. So how is Lard safe in His eyes? Can’t remove verses r/t 2nd coming so it doesn’t matter if present science says something, but sooner or later the Bible is proven right over science.
So Fast Food from ANY deep-fryer and potato chips could be a huge reason our bodies cant take it anymore and a huge part of the reason why the BIG “C” is on the rise. Here in Canada we have a food brand named Our Compliments…..well they recently have decided to change their packaging with the BIG “C” on it!!!!!!! HELLO, is there anyone out there!?
Dr. Axe… the food industry is introducing a lot of omega 9 oil now. Possibly 50% of canola oil has this. So what is “high oleic” oil that they are promoting? Should we trust this “better” oil?
In instagram Dr. Garth Davis is saying olive oil is healthy, lowers LDL not raising it, thinks it is the reason mederteraneans are so healthy. I honestly am severely confused now, I though all oil was bad
Oil is actually about as dense as refined sugar, in volume they are almost equal because oil weighs less, that’s why oil floats on water while sugar sinks to the bottom. Oil also takes longer to digest than refined sugar so it’s harder to overeat on pure oil than sugar.
Who the F is this ideologue. Support your points rather than just skimming over your favorite parts of specific studies. Your annoying because you have an agenda.
In India people use ghee..mustard oil or coconut oil but with modernization some shifted to refined oil which actually slow poison.. I believe our ancestors had more knowledge than us..we are getting knowledge with scientific search..but our ancestors knew it only with observation..May be they had more brain n perfect eyesight
Hi Dr. Axe, is there any website that I can ask my question and concerns to you as opposed to Youtube? I want to boost my immune system. What should I do?
I know this is not a cooking oil or oil that is consumed by mouth… but what about mineral oil? Is it safe to use mineral oil on cosmetics and lotions? Can you make a video explaining? Thanks, Dr. Axe!
Spanish Extra Virgin olive oil is sold straight from the olive press in weekly open air markets all across S. Spain. Olive oil is treated lthe same as wine. there are several well known varieties if olives such as Picual & Hojiblanca, just to name two. In the Cities you can always find a Gourmet food store with a big range of oils. Everyone uses olive oil for cooking & on toast instead of butter because Spain is a low volume Dairy producer. …….and the wines are superb.
Hi! I have have Lupus and Ive been seriously considering adopting a ketogenic lifestyle. However, I also want to be completely vegan by the end of 2018. I found this article on Keto/Vegan and would like your professional opinion on its effectiveness and health benefits. https://www.ruled.me/comprehensive-guide-vegan-ketogenic-diet/ I look forward to hearing from you. And thank you for your awesome laid back and honest videos on the Keto diet.
Anecdote here, but I’ve been off and on a vegetarian diet for a few years (when I’m home from college I eat what my parents eat and they eat tons of meat and cheese. We dont even have vegetables in the house at the moment and havent since I’ve come home) and have an eating disorder that’s essentially atypical anorexia combined with bulemia. I’ve noticed that when I’m home I relapse, but when I’m on a vegetarian diet I begin to recover. I think the relationship with food changes because I know vegetarian diets are much healthier, and I tend to worry about my weight less because I feel much better. I’m currently at home and relapsed, sadly. I hope to find a summer job so I can buy my own food and go back to being vegetarian.
Stopped using Crisco yrs ago….. Even on the logo the I is doted with a flame. So I was reading on survival tips, I found that 1gal. can of Crisco will make a candle for 72hrs….. (Only use for it) Thank YOU for being so honest.
I think it’s just over simplified. Human health problems is complicated, not just from veg oil. You should know from long MD studies. Eating bacon with natural oil from it’s fats is actually still very bad for your health. Veg oil not healthy, yes, but a lot other thing’s are also bad or worst. It’s not doomsday to eat food with veg oil. If you have a better options, good for you. But a lot of families in developed countries still depends on veg oil, like say palm oil. They need it to cook or sell their food…
Hi Mic, Love your videos. I stopped using oil at home about 1.5 years ago. Everyone thinks I’m crazy when I say I don’t use oil for anything, and like the “Where do you get your protein?” question regarding being vegan, I get the “But what about extra virgin olive oil though?” all the time. Explaining to people that oil is unhealthy is tough but I really like your sugar comparison. The only time I consume oil is when I eat out, and some establishments will use less or no oil if you ask them! Especially some vegan ones. You and Lilykoi Hawaii are my favorite Youtubers:) thanks for spreading knowledge!!
You’re 90% there…. But telling people to go from vegetable oil to bacon grease is a HORRIBLE idea. That’s like telling someone to switch from a gun to a knife to kill yourself. Bacon and other cured and processed meats are treated with nitrates or nitrites a chemical added to preserve shelf life and enhance color. Diets high in processed meats have also been linked to chronic health conditions including diabetes, migraines, asthma, heart failure, kidney disease and several types of cancer. And Olive oil is still refined, so it should be mentioned that only EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil should be used, as well as any other UNREFINED oils such as avocado, peanut, almond, walnut, etc. (again only unrefined).
Nothing wrong with good old fashioned beef dripping for frying keto friendly and allot cheaper than all these fancy oils, keep them for salad dressings.
Palm Oil is a Fruit Oil. Palm Kernel Oil is Seed Oil. As long as we know the chemistry of each fruit and seed oil and Not Hydrogenated, Over Burned, extracted physically we are better. As long as the hydrogenated Naturally they are safer. There is NO Cholesterol in any Vegetable Oils.
When I came across your Vegan Killer video I did stop cooking with oil, although I find my consumption of Hummus is very high. Can you advise on a tasty replacement? Otherwise I guess make my own with a lot less oil than store bought, or “everything has more flavour after a while of reducing salt and sugar intake.” Store bought hummus tub has 28.2g of fat, and I feel this tub I eat daily must be replaced. Love your home project btw, and your videos are Super!
Love this video. Totally see what you’re saying through the looking Glass. Had one grandmother who cooks with beef lard from Tennessee. The other grandmother cooked with vegetable oils. One had major health issues the other one did not. Thank you for posting
This is a very strange discussion from a European perspective. Some of the longest living people on the planet, Italians, Greek, Spaniards, eat a lot of olive oil.
In India Bangladesh etc people using masterd oil for cooking last few thousand years.. How many of those people over weight? Or getting massive sickness? The best oil is masterd oil
What is scary is the general opinion is to rely on the government agencies to look after our health, but any federal state or local agancy is bought and paid for. Do your own homework, it’s your healt
Yeah, those poor Southern Europeans dropping dead at, well, far older age than Americans because of eating so much olive oil… and they even eat some fish too!!! Let’s teach them a lesson on how to spend 3x per capita on healthcare!!
this was helpful for me because since i became Whole Foods Plant based, I get more than enough Omega-3’s….but I get almost no Omega-6’s………..though i don’t see why those grain or legume sourced oils aren’t allowed on a “fat fueled” diet because…..it’s not that grains and legumes aren’t allowed on keto, you just gotta keep it in your allowed limit. For instance, one can still consume low-carb wheat tortillas on keto and stay in keto….so yeahhhhhhhhhh not sure what all the hate towards grains and legumes are. If you are allergic or highly sensitive to them, don’t eat them, if you are not allergic, eat them. They are good for you. And apparently the only way I am going to get enough omega 6’s in my diet. I definitely went and double checked everything she said, because honestly, most of what these keto “experts” have to say is incredibly biased and they only look at the studies that back them up and ignore studies that have been backed up by science for decades. But this was helpful, though I am not sure where or how you find unrefined canola oil. But non-hydrogenated soybean oil can be very good for you.
I got a question about oils. I’ve been eating the Esselstyn/Fuhrman/Greger etc. plant-based no-salt no-oil diets (from their cookbooks) for a while, inputting everything I eat into cronometer, and I found I wasn’t getting enough omega 6s. Finding out that omega 6 is an essential fatty acid, I started supplementing with however much safflower oil would get me to the app’s 100% DRI green area, which was usually around 2 teaspoons a day.
It’s been boggling me: if the Esselstyn etc. diets don’t give you enough of an ESSENTIAL fatty acid, how that can be considered a healthy diet, and what these doctors’ response would be to that? Would it be that I’m not balancing my meals correctly (I eat 4 a day, mind you)? Am I missing something? Esselstyn insists that we don’t need ANY added oil in our diet, that we’ll somehow get it all from whole plants nuts and seeds are optional and that’s only if you don’t have heart issues. Also I’m not even sure how much of those oils from the nuts and seeds actually get absorbed, so even if you’d eat lots of them to get the 100% whether that would count.
Would be great if you could shed some light on this issue. Your ‘My ‘Oil: The Vegan Killer’ Video Was Debunked?’ vid seemed to just insist, based on anthropological evidence I guess, that we don’t need oil to live, but then why is it considered essential, and what about fat-soluble vitamins?
Put more simply: if I’m eating a plant-based diet and at the end of the day day after day my omega 6s are, according to cronometer, at 60% of the DRI, should I worry?
Of nearly 130 tested positive in India, 90 had ties to Dubai, but for a theocracy where the ruler Sheikh Makhtoum could kill his own son, vanish one of his daughters, put one in a complete house arrest, this is very justified.
70% of Everyone in India who’s infected, has some Dubai ties and my brother told me that the ruler had given strict warnings to the doctors to instruct people that it’s to be diagnosed as common cold and flu, while their rich royals are running out of Dubai to Sweden and other safe zones leaving the immigrants in peril. Next week on, even the shopping malls would be closed there for a month, why?
We all know why!! If all cases outside China are concerned, Corona reached the world through Dubai airports, Europe Union should set guidelines now from the Gulf countries, all of them are infected.
Hello doc, is mustard oil ok to be used, mustard is locally grown and easily available in india. The Oil is extracted in your presence while you wait at the shop.
Dr. Berry with all due respects i believe some of the info you shared are suspicious and downright false.. While i agree with you that the worst oil is canola oil which comes from rapeseed processed employing extreme heat and hydrogenation to extract its oil and therefore cannot withstand overheating when cooking thereby oxidation occurs.
“Vegetable oil” is a marketing thrust employed by big business including soya and palm oils i must agree are all coming from its seeds utilyzing heat and hydrogenation to produce its oils plus most of it are products of gmo technology..
However you never mentioned about the best cooking oil being coconut oil.. or you missed mentioning it…it is the only plant based oil that produces saturated fats yet is able to withstand extreme heat while frying or cooking without causing oxidation and you can reuse its oil a maximum three times..but instead push animal fats with the exception of avocado oil for cooking and frying..Animal fats contain unnecessary cholesterol which we all know is very dangerous to our health.. Our bodies produce its own cholesterol.. it doesnt need cholesterol from outside source.
In India for thousands of years we use and cook in cold press mustud, coconut, sesame, groundnut, ghee…and were healthy and never heard of cancer, diabetes, heart attacks upto last 30 yrs when all this western compaocame with thier refined oil
I eat lots of healthy fats everday and I’m not overweight. If I stopped eating those fats my food wouldn’t taste super delicious. But I will try to use smaller amounts.
MORE THAN ANYTHING, BE HONEST ABOUT IT, YOU REALLY WANT US TO HIT”” THE SUBBER’ BUTTON, BECAUSE IT BUILDS UP EVEN MORE MONEYFOR YOU VIA YOU TUBE PAYOUTS!
Extraction method is of far greater concern than the actual nutritional profiles, even with high omega 6 seed oils. Thing is, you’ll never find extra virgin cold pressed soybean or oil, they’ll always be deodorized and thus contain trans fat, which are indisputably carcinogenic. I personally stay away from extra virgin seed oils because of their omega 6 content but that’s just me, the biggest change you can make is cutting out deodorized and clarified oils.
I believe you are wrong about rapeseed oil I have watched it being pressed straight from the seed and put into a diesel engine here in Denmark, cold pressed!!!
What about cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil? Not using any chemicals during process as my friend is producing it himself. You would be surprised how healthy and omega balanced it is.
I’m took my first step of going away from oil today. I made my usual awesome sandwich today WITHOUT Veganaise. I subbed in catsup and relish. Lightlife Chickpea and Red Pepper Veggie Deli Slices + 2 tomato slices + 2 bell pepper rings + 4 slices of backyard yellow summer squash + entirely too much romaine lettuce = good times, worry free.
I looked at some lard labels. They say “hydrogenated lard”. Also said BHA. What is up with those? From what I read, hydrogenated lard is not the same as hydrogenated oil. However, what about the BHA?
Consuming no oil for two years made my macular degeneration much worse! The eyes specially the retina need a small amount of oil in order for the nutrients to be absorbed.a small amount of a “ healthier” oil is imperative. I’m not referring to processed fats in processed foods.
No oil makes a more delicious salad dressing than extra virgin olive oil, for variety, change the acid. There is a numerous variety of vinegar from which to choose. You can also use lemon or lime juice instead of vinegar. Sesame oil is only used as a seasoning, and, even then, only a few drops are used because its flavor is so powerful.
It’s very unfortunate that about 50 years ago our own government promoted consuming anything made from corn and soybeans supposedly to help the farmers.
I have a bottle big toasted sesame oil, in my cupboard. I only use it sparingly… mostly for additional flavoring in some Asian dishes, after cooking. My go-to oils are Refined coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, avocado oil, butter, ghee/clarified butter and xvirgin olive oil.

Just bought your book, I am in the UK btw, and I absolutely love love love your book! It is like a bible, so informative, incredibly researched and thorough. I use it on a daily basis, just started the Keto diet, and it’s a gold mine. The best book you can ever get, no matter what stages of Keto you are at. Thank you so so much Leanne, your book is a life saver ❤
Yeah, those poor Southern Europeans dropping dead at, well, far older age than Americans because of eating so much olive oil… and they even eat some fish too!!! Let’s teach them a lesson on how to spend 3x per capita on healthcare!!
Could you discuss the cardio protective aspects of Red Wine? Blanketly stating alcohol is a carcinogen is not the whole truth. Alcohol raises HDL (good cholesterol) but the consumption of it has to be moderated.
400k plus people a month interactions? Video got 120k views since 2017 and 160k subscribers. Are you saying you got that many views of all your videos on the channel a month or are you saying you actually provide nutrition advice to that many people a month?
What about rapeseed oil? I’m a newcomer having just purchased the the keto beginning and have a ton of this oil along with sesame and peanut oil which are both being swiftly being thrown into the bin!!!
And…drats I have been using Grapeseed for years for baking (prior to Keto) it is the most like butter and makes all cakes etc moist. I kept hoping you wouldn’t mention it, thought I was in the clear…and you left it for the worst offender. Egads.

When I see this videos, first thing I look at is the length. 11 minutes is way too long for this subject. Sorry Im not going to sit and listen to a bunch of padding, narrative etc….just get to the effing point. Its EXTREMELY tiresome please don’t learn to like the sound of your voice. you lost me. i didn’t bother to watch. It should have been a two minute video.
It’s very unfortunate that about 50 years ago our own government promoted consuming anything made from corn and soybeans supposedly to help the farmers.
Love love love this video! It’s so important to rotate the fats you are using as well as all the greens you are eating. Thank you so much for the Omega ratios I’d love a video on just how to get the right amount of 3-6 through diet and nutrition. I’m not a fan of fish (so I take a pill and I look for sources anywhere I can get them!)
I’d like to speak in defense of safflower oil. In my mid twenties my lifestyle choices were pretty poor and I ended up with an extremely high blood cholesterol and triglyceride count. A friend of mine recommended to switch to safflower oil for a couple of weeks because it helped him getting his own readings back under control. My GP urged me to make a radical change in my eating habits so I thought I’d give it a try. I just added a shot glass of safflower oil to my daily meals and also used it for frying whenever necessary and my bloodwork came back more or less normal after a month. My GP was pretty impressed by the positive impacts.
I read years ago that the process for canola oil made it essentially a poison that is refined. who would want poison in their bodies? research this please.

Of course if you dont eat anything or eat oils…. and even than its bad desicion!! Its not calories what your body want.better be eating food in liquid form if you undereating.

I need to stop my MCT consumption. I ran a short experiment and saw no extra weight loss. Only thing I noticed was a slight thermogenic effect. I’m gonna stop
UK based, loved the book. Just starting my journey now.
I do suffer from Cardiomyopathy I’ve recently discovered, and now high cholesterol at 9, up from 5.2 last summer. Hoping this will help and get rid of the fatigue I suffer from the heart meds
Greetings from an oil guzzling keto vegan! I’ve previously suffered from binge eating disorder, and keto is the only thing keeping it in check. Don’t think I’ve got heart disease. I’ll get back to you if that changes in the future. Love your videos! x
We need more on this topic please. Like a discussion on how to convince someone that saturated fats are healthy in plain terms I can understand and relay to others in non scientific terms. On the Keto diet I consume saturated fats and this scares most people. I need something in plain terms that will help me demonstrate that these types of fats are better for them than unsaturated fats like vegetable oil, canola, oil and soy oils, etc.
Go ahead, avoid oil! Only put mineral oil on your body! Oil is very negative, just because it’s green it doesn’t mean it comes from avocados, they dyed the animal fat green. Exactly all humans lie about oil, am I the only one who thinks all humans believe oil is vegetarian and all humans are lying?
Mic, Im one of those vegans who lost a scary amount of weight, scary fast (60lbs in 6 months). There were reasons outside of veganism for this also. Excessive Oil became my best friend but the weight keeps dropping and I think its just my stomach size. Im not trying to be anorexic. What tips do you have for getting that healthy caloric intake without oil, even if your stomach seems to tiny to eat a whole f’n can of beans?
Wow…we really live in a society where people need to be entertained all the time inorder to pay attention. Write the info down, type it…you have a pause button ppl, use it! This video is under 12 min…if you can’t dedicate 12 min to possibly improve your health…I’ll even triple it for pausing and writing…if you cannot dedicate 36min of your time to gather information to potentially improve your health…smh. Also, she said she made a guide in the beginning of the video. Go to the site and get it. Oi vey! ¡Dios mio!
I dont want to eat oil. i was diagnosed with schizophrenia I learned more about the plant based (2010) my schizophrenia symptoms were very similar to CVD symptoms i went to see my doctor
(it was emotionally hard to see the doctor he recommended me to therapy not a second thought for DIET and CVD concern)
ive had a very hard time with doctors and being misunderstood i prefer not to eat oil i have a lot of stress in my life (food is a very big stressor) i was concerned i was getting an eating disorder (i was starting to have pain during eating)
“if adding EVOO helps me eat my veggies” Dr Gregor
Hi Mic thanks for the great content you routinely provide. Can you shed light on Udo’s Oil 369 blend that is sold for health benefits? I don’t know if you’ve already covered this in another video or not, but I’m trying to find out if I should supplement with it or not. I am just a tad over normal BMI for my height and weight and probably could get right on the money in a week with a little intermittent fasting. I’ve heard it’s good for dry eyes, sore stiff joints, inflammation, memory boosting, sleep regulation, etc……all good stuff. I was supplementing hit and miss with an algae based EPA/DHA but keep forgetting to keep it in stock, so I’m wondering if I’m in need of this or not. Thanks Keep up the great work!
Honestly, I’ve seen some of Mike making food and I want my food to taste good.
As someone adopting a mostly whole-food plant base diet, Im going to add oil to my food. Obviously by my name I’m Italian and olive oil is a big part of food making.
Help I do not know what to eat I’ve noticed dry patches on my skin so I started just yesterday doing teaspoon of avocado oil coconut oil and cod liver oil I was going to do flax oil as well but it was out of date in my fridge I was hoping that would help the dryness on my skin on my eyebrow there is severe dryness and around my nose I thought these oils would help but if you’re saying oils are not good I also do drink lot water but I really thought the oils would help what else do you recommend if not the oils
The Christian God Jesus is Satan the devil and he is not coming back… Christians worship Satan with a human sacrifice of Jesus to Satan… you’ve been deceived repent accept Jahovah and do good works.
Thank you so much for sharing this great list of healthful oils and their individual health benefits. I am sharing your download with my family to help them make better choices for the particular need.
I got a question about oils. I’ve been eating the Esselstyn/Fuhrman/Greger etc. plant-based no-salt no-oil diets (from their cookbooks) for a while, inputting everything I eat into cronometer, and I found I wasn’t getting enough omega 6s. “oil is the best weight gain food on the planet..” Something that should be constantly be repeated along with “the grease you eat is the grease you wear.”
you are smart but your talking is way to tiring! you go on and on and arouuunnnnnd up and down at the very same spot… waist of 4 minutes of my life just to start listening to the point… so, that is the reason why will unsubscribe you! Sorry! Let me know when you improve your script cause you are intelligent, just baaad talker
Of course if you dont eat anything or eat oils…. and even than its bad desicion!! Its not calories what your body want.better be eating food in liquid form if you undereating.
The one oil study pictured does not conclude that low-saturated-fat oils are actually unhealthy but that deep-fried food is unhealthy even when it’s prepared in low-saturated-fat oil. The study simply proves (not for the first time ) the negative health effects of deep fried foods rather than arguing the contrarian position that, e.g., evoo even in moderation is bad for you.
I am on the chronic disease train so very low oil for me. I wish oil was a health food. I use nuts and nut cream (nuts blended with water) for flavour enhancement. Eating at home is easy but eating out a nightmare (vegan and no oil and no sugar)
Hey Mike, like the small house. Is that your bedroom above the kitchen? Just thought about the potential foodie smells? On another note, I enjoy your videos, keep up the great (& entertaining content!).
Thank you for this video. My husband and I are new to the whole food plant-based lifestyle. We have a lot to learn. At 53 and 47, it is a struggle to change habits and cook less with oil
Really cute tiny house. I live in a “small house” which is considerably bigger than a tiny house. When you are done, I will be so interested. I am not organized enough a person to go tiny, and I am older than you are and upstairs loft beds scare me for old age, but I do find them adorable. I have trouble keeping organized even with a pantry. (I have a house small enough that I don’t have any master bedrooms or walk-in closets, but there are times like seasonal changes when I wish I did.) I greatly admire the tiny house movement.
Those ear buds will be messing with your mitochondria in more ways than we will ever know. Have a listen to this lady, when it gets to 2:16 minutes you’ll hear just one aspect of the effect of nnEMF which contributes to diabetes which isn’t just a food thing. If you want to appeal to mitochondriacs, ditch the ear buds.:-)
Everyone is a critic. Put down the cheetos and you go make video where you can even use the word Celsius in a sentence without getting the vapors or getting a cramp in your tongue. Stupid trolls.

Remember Frankenstein was made in a Lab. Doctor Frankenstein, took different parts from here and there, and tried to create, something usable. He tried and tried. Making many changes to this and that, and adding chemicals, into the bloodstream, before getting his monster to come to life!!
First! All natural fats, are very easy to collect, store and use. Like Olive oil, all they have to do is squeeze the olives, and the oil’s come out, and is filtered, and bottled. Same with Avocado oil. Butter, Lard, Tallow, and other such fat’s are likewise easy to get, and rendered down to remove the water, and other unwanted bit’s and pieces. I have seen all of these processes being done. All of these are done without any chemicals, and need no other work to make them stable for long term storage!
Frankenstein Fat’s, on the other had, are extracted, by crushing the seeds of many different plants, then using chemicals and heat to extract the oils. Then even more has to be done, after the resulting oil is collected. It’s shipped to plants all over the world, where it arrives in very bad state. It’s Rancid, because it’s so unstable, in its natural state. So into the heating and bleaching tanks it goes, where its heated to very high temps, 500+ degrees. This burns off the horrible smell. ( I have been where this is done as well. ) And more chemicals are used to bleach it, because it came in as a sick looking gray gooey stuff.
Canola Oil, Is a total FAKE. It an engineered plant, made from the Rapeseed plant, that deadly to humans. In the lab’s they worked for years to remove the poison from the plants. They finally did it, by removing the genes, responsible for producing the poison. But even then these still a small amount that has to be chemically removed.
The next steps are putting it into more vats, and using chemicals to make it Stable, for storage, and, after that process is complete. Some of it goes on to be made into “fake lard” like products called Shortening. Once again it goes into big tanks, and is heated, and stirred, while Hydrogen is pumped into the oil. This again changes the molecular structure of the oils, and make them into a solid! Some more of the now stable oils is made into “Fake Cheese” Kraft used to be one of the biggest makers of that unholy stuff. They packaged and sold it under many others names, without their name being connected to it. A lot of the Hoop cheese you’ll find on the buffet tables, in restaurants, if FAKE cheese. Kraft sold the fake cheese business back in the early 90’s. (I worked in their plant, in Humboldt Tn, for a short time. The workers could have any of that stuff they wanted. There were few takers)
There’s much more in the making of Frankenstein Fat’s, but this sums it up, in a nutshell!!!
Sugar is not as unhealthful as oil. Walter Kempner would have never had the success with reversing heart disease, diabetes, hypertension… if calories from refined sugar on the rice diet were replaced with calories from oil. I’m not saying that sugar is a health food, but you’ve seem to bought into the low carb nonsense that blames refined sugar for chronic diseases and obesity instead of the obvious animal food and oil culprits. I think using sugar as a condiment is fine (But NOT using sugar as a meal replacement). There is no way that, calorie for calorie, sugar is anywhere near as harmful as oil.
what kind of idiots, says canola oil, soya oils corn oil, palm oil, and other vegetable oils are very, very bad for you.use only olive oil. Dr. Axe is Right.
Consuming no oil for two years made my macular degeneration much worse! The eyes specially the retina need a small amount of oil in order for the nutrients to be absorbed.a small amount of a “ healthier” oil is imperative. I’m not referring to processed fats in processed foods.
I eat lots of healthy fats everday and I’m not overweight. If I stopped eating those fats my food wouldn’t taste super delicious. But I will try to use smaller amounts.
since I’ve stopped cooking with oil and avoid most oils in packaged food my stomach issues have virtually gone away. When I became vegetarian I thought oil was good for you and was very liberal with it… then I had lots of stomach problems.. I thought it was all the fiber. nope!
Mic please put a light switch cover over the junction box. Sure there’s only a very small chance that anything bad will happen but it will only take 5 seconds and that will reduce the risk to 0.
Thank you for this uplifting informs, Dr. Axe. I use primarily EVOO, although it doesn’t seem to be the best for frying. (I avoid rapeseed oil, which oneunfortunately has become ubiquitous in so many foods including bottled salad dressing and baked goods!) Question: Is organic cold-pressed sunflower oil and grapeseed oil good for frying? I sometimes use grapeseed oil.
So I guess you should not eat palm oil because it displaces orangutans? When I listen to a doctor, I only care about their medical or in this case nutritional opinions. It’s like asking a doctor if I should start a family, and they tell me not to because if I have a child, during that child’s lifetime, thousands of animals would have to be slaughtered they can eat. Nutrition advice is why I watched this video.
Breakfast today hibiscus tea with lemon then 4 walnuts several rawl almonds handful of pumpkin seeds and a bit of roasted chicken with skin….not on keto but it felt right this morning. Thank you Leanne Have a great day!
In instagram Dr. Garth Davis is saying olive oil is healthy, lowers LDL not raising it, thinks it is the reason mederteraneans are so healthy. I honestly am severely confused now, I though all oil was bad
wait wait wait.. how can that Sauce at 3:30 be 67% fat when 4.5g of 125g isn’t even 10%.. Why would you calcluate with the calories i dont understand anything? Excuse me if being dumb but please help a fellow out here im totally lost
You are hilarious and look fine. WTF is wrong with millennials? Probably the same thing that is wrong with everybody else. There are certain vitamins, as you know better than I, that are fat soluble so my very moderate approach feels fine to me, and my doctor. As usual, an information packed presentation, well prepared and presented, and you’re the only person who speaks faster than I do. Keep up the good work.
Would love to see a vidoe of the whole build one day! ^.^ Also how do you feel about Liver Flushing??? The process takes drinking olive oil.. and also drinking lots of Epsom salts. I’m feeling skeptic, but I am healthy enough as a whole food vegan to give it a try.
IBS made me lose a shit tonne of weight and the only way I managed to boost my BMI was to use oil all the time, it worked a treat. Even if my arteries will explode sigh

I don’t understand why you disapprove of connola oil when it has the most Omega 3 fatty acids. Can you please post links to the studies that support this advice?
Insightful especially about the inflammatory effect on the liver meridien. Not sure about animal fats though. These days animal feed is rich in soy and corn…

Dear god, typical attention-whoring video. Starts out by telling you what she’s going to talk about before actually talking about it. This video should be 3 minutes long.
what kind of idiots, says canola oil, soya oils corn oil, palm oil, and other vegetable oils are very, very bad for you.use only olive oil. Dr. Axe is Right.
Thank you so much for sharing this great list of healthful oils and their individual health benefits. I am sharing your download with my family to help them make better choices for the particular need.
UK based, loved the book. Just starting my journey now.
I do suffer from Cardiomyopathy I’ve recently discovered, and now high cholesterol at 9, up from 5.2 last summer. Hoping this will help and get rid of the fatigue I suffer from the heart meds
This is the very first time I watched one of your videos. It is very informative and I agree with everything you say. I wish you would lighten up a little bit because you seem a bit stiff and maybe smile much more! Maybe you’ve changed and I’ll see that in some later videos. Nice work. Thank you very much!
Most people should not consume coconut oil, its hard for the digestive system to break down. So, it may cause leg cramps, sleepiness, droopy eyes, esophagus issues, etc.

How van I know my EVOO is not diluted w/vegetable oil or other toxic oils? I buy my EVOO in bulk from Market Basket, its imported from Greece in a large tin.
Please don’t use the phrase “oil Nazi” or “x Nazi”, only antisemitic uber imperialists should be called Nazis, Jewish people don’t need the flagrant reference to our murder around every corner.

What tips do you have for getting that healthy caloric intake without oil, even if your stomach seems to tiny to eat a whole f’n can of beans?
this was helpful for me because since i became Whole Foods Plant based, I get more than enough Omega-3’s….but I get almost no Omega-6’s………..though i don’t see why those grain or legume sourced oils aren’t allowed on a “fat fueled” diet because…..it’s not that grains and legumes aren’t allowed on keto, you just gotta keep it in your allowed limit.
Eating disorders are a delicate topic, but there’s one thing that I don’t see mentioned about it and I think it’s important. Many women with PCOS and pre-diabetes, don’t get diagnosed and they very often develop an eating disorder as a consequence of trying to lose weight by any means possible. And, when they get diagnosed, the general advice doctors will give those women is to lose weight. Quitting oil could change those women’s lives like it has changed mine…
400k plus people a month interactions? Video got 120k views since 2017 and 160k subscribers. Are you saying you got that many views of all your videos on the channel a month or are you saying you actually provide nutrition advice to that many people a month?

I like Dr Berg better because he doesn’t just TALK AT YOU he writes and points out as he goes along and if you get lost a bit you can look at the board, read it and catch up. To me, that is the true sign of a good teacher/instructor. Leaving visual key words to read. To expect the listener to hear all this blah blah blah given with a lot of mute info the average person doesn’t need, you walk away with little info retained.
Nothing wrong with good old fashioned beef dripping for frying keto friendly and allot cheaper than all these fancy oils, keep them for salad dressings.
Egads.
Some seed oils are extracted with Hexane a Neurotoxin, thus my suspicions that they are causing some of the allergys. I stumbled upon this because of being exposed to Carbon Disulfide and later had a reaction to Cottonseed Oil. Carbon Disulfide is used in the Pulping Process to make Rayon and Bamboo Fibre.

Greetings from an oil guzzling keto vegan! I’ve previously suffered from binge eating disorder, and keto is the only thing keeping it in check. Don’t think I’ve got heart disease. I’ll get back to you if that changes in the future. Love your videos! x
I feel that healthy oils such as coconut oil are amazing for your physical and mental health. Coconut oil has been proven to help with mental clarity such as with dementia patients and those with epilepsy… it also helps to make ones skin look youthful. If you take a look at Douglas Graham’s skin, he appears to be 20 years older than he is due to the fact that he eliminates oils. On the other hand, if you look at Markus Rothkranz, he looks 20 years younger than he actually is since he incorporates lots of coconut oil into his diet…
Your body needs oils to surround each of your cell membranes so they can transmit between themselves…Oil has been used since the beginning of time for great health, even essential oils… they truly are essential…
Only in the context of caloric insufficiency is the question of “where do you get your protein?” come up with any legitimacy.’ In such a case kwashiorkor syndrome is a real possibility. Oh that and a hard candy diet.
I read years ago that the process for canola oil made it essentially a poison that is refined. who would want poison in their bodies? research this please.
Go ahead, avoid oil! Only put mineral oil on your body! Oil is very negative, just because it’s green it doesn’t mean it comes from avocados, they dyed the animal fat green. Exactly all humans lie about oil, am I the only one who thinks all humans believe oil is vegetarian and all humans are lying?
personally I would say stay away from canola oil, some people say you can use it if it’s expeller-pressed but it’s not even a real thing it’s made from wrapseeds and canola oil as a combination of can Nana and oil. and they have to refined canola oil otherwise it’s unhealthy. just watch a documentary on it. you can tell the quality of something if it includes canola oil I’m really surprised that organic products still have it over quality Wheels like olive oil but it’s because it’s cheap!
Most people should not consume coconut oil, its hard for the digestive system to break down. So, it may cause leg cramps, sleepiness, droopy eyes, esophagus issues, etc.
For those trying to cut out oil, be cautious of your store bought salad dressings! For a super easy and crazy delicious salad dressing this is what I make and I’ll never go back..
To make 1/2 Cup of Tahini Yogurt Lemon Dressing (2 servings)
3 Tbsp Tahini 3 Tbsp Vegan Probiotic Yogurt 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice 1 tsp Lemon Pepper 1/4 tsp Salt 2 Tbsp Water
The probiotic part is optional but I use the Nancy’s brand and it has probiotics in it. Use whatever you want
Oi vey! ¡Dios mio!
I’ve just recently started watching your vlogs which are great and very helpful/informative, so sorry if you have already answered this in the past. If you don’t cook with oil what if anything do you recommend?
No oil makes a more delicious salad dressing than extra virgin olive oil, for variety, change the acid. There is a numerous variety of vinegar from which to choose. You can also use lemon or lime juice instead of vinegar. Sesame oil is only used as a seasoning, and, even then, only a few drops are used because its flavor is so powerful.
Breakfast today hibiscus tea with lemon then 4 walnuts several rawl almonds handful of pumpkin seeds and a bit of roasted chicken with skin….not on keto but it felt right this morning. Thank you Leanne Have a great day!
Peanut oil, Extra-virgin Olive Oil and Butter. That’s all one needs. Although, some people might be allergic to peanut oil and would choose an alternative.
Also I think if you are someone who is EXTREMELY poor, but on a vegan diet, oil isnt the worst thing. Healthy fats like avocados and nuts can be very expensive. I think it’s better to consume oil and peanut butter than no fat at all.
Please don’t use the phrase “oil Nazi” or “x Nazi”, only antisemitic uber imperialists should be called Nazis, Jewish people don’t need the flagrant reference to our murder around every corner.

Hey Mike, like the small house. Is that your bedroom above the kitchen? Just thought about the potential foodie smells? On another note, I enjoy your videos, keep up the great (& entertaining content!).
How van I know my EVOO is not diluted w/vegetable oil or other toxic oils? I buy my EVOO in bulk from Market Basket, its imported from Greece in a large tin.
This is a very strange discussion from a European perspective. Some of the longest living people on the planet, Italians, Greek, Spaniards, eat a lot of olive oil.
IBS made me lose a shit tonne of weight and the only way I managed to boost my BMI was to use oil all the time, it worked a treat. Even if my arteries will explode sigh
Who the F is this ideologue. Support your points rather than just skimming over your favorite parts of specific studies. Your annoying because you have an agenda.
I’ve just recently started watching your vlogs which are great and very helpful/informative, so sorry if you have already answered this in the past. If you don’t cook with oil what if anything do you recommend?
Thank you for this video. My husband and I are new to the whole food plant-based lifestyle. We have a lot to learn. At 53 and 47, it is a struggle to change habits and cook less with oil
Also I think if you are someone who is EXTREMELY poor, but on a vegan diet, oil isnt the worst thing. Healthy fats like avocados and nuts can be very expensive. I think it’s better to consume oil and peanut butter than no fat at all.
Some of the Canadian canola oils have nothing on the label about being hydrogenated or cold pressed. Shouldn’t they be required to print that? Also, I noticed plain old lard is hydrogenated now, so I would rethink that on your list. Not to be gas lighter but on the naming conventions of vegetable oil… But isn’t a corn seed just a kernel of dried corn?
You know there are things not acceptable for instance throwing out others cooking oil which usually cause people to ban you from coming around their families.
since I’ve stopped cooking with oil and avoid most oils in packaged food my stomach issues have virtually gone away. When I became vegetarian I thought oil was good for you and was very liberal with it… then I had lots of stomach problems.. I thought it was all the fiber. nope!
you are smart but your talking is way to tiring! you go on and on and arouuunnnnnd up and down at the very same spot… waist of 4 minutes of my life just to start listening to the point… so, that is the reason why will unsubscribe you! Sorry! Let me know when you improve your script cause you are intelligent, just baaad talker
Mic please put a light switch cover over the junction box. Sure there’s only a very small chance that anything bad will happen but it will only take 5 seconds and that will reduce the risk to 0.
Honestly, I’ve seen some of Mike making food and I want my food to taste good.
As someone adopting a mostly whole-food plant base diet, Im going to add oil to my food. Obviously by my name I’m Italian and olive oil is a big part of food making.
Could you discuss the cardio protective aspects of Red Wine? Blanketly stating alcohol is a carcinogen is not the whole truth. Alcohol raises HDL (good cholesterol) but the consumption of it has to be moderated.
“oil is the best weight gain food on the planet..” Something that should be constantly be repeated along with “the grease you eat is the grease you wear.”
Oil is actually about as dense as refined sugar, in volume they are almost equal because oil weighs less, that’s why oil floats on water while sugar sinks to the bottom. Oil also takes longer to digest than refined sugar so it’s harder to overeat on pure oil than sugar.
Pls Stop telling people to consume saturated fat, this type of oils increase cholesterol and blood pressure, heart attack and death. Mono saturated oil and polysaturated oils are OK. Olive oil, flaxseed oil are my favorite, vegetable oil in moderation is good.
I need to stop my MCT consumption. I ran a short experiment and saw no extra weight loss. Only thing I noticed was a slight thermogenic effect. I’m gonna stop
GOLDMINE of information. Very,. very good video. It’s good to check some of the foods you have been buying to see if they include these items. I know that some of these oils often show up in non natural peanut butters and some other high fat products.

Hi! What is the downside of palm oil aside from the effects of its plantation to the environment? will appreciate your response, thank you!
I bought yesterday by mistake safflower oil.i thought sunflower oil.do you think it’s healthy to cook with or return it?? Thank you

Meh, too few advertisements, and too much content. You only asked us to share it 10 times in the middle of the video. Could you increase that to 3000?
Thanks, Dr. Axe!
People from a whole food plant base group I follow, have been saying coconut oil and olive oil are bad if cooked over 221 degrees…
I found this article on Keto/Vegan and would like your professional opinion on its effectiveness and health benefits. https://www.ruled.me/comprehensive-guide-vegan-ketogenic-diet/
I look forward to hearing from you. And thank you for your awesome laid back and honest videos on the Keto diet.

What about cold pressed mustard oil? Indian’s consume it a lot but it is banned in European countries. Irony is mustard sauce is allowed.
The best oil is masterd oil
mazola corn oil must be ban, it causes allergy reaction, asthma, autoimmune disease and so on, just trying to recover myself from it
Can you provide some journal articles or other scientific sources about processed vegetable oil linked to inflammation and whatnot?
Hey Mic,
I got a question about oils.
Dubai should be ashamed to hide it’s cases.
The
Oil is extracted in your presence while you wait at the shop.
OMG thanks. I’m on my way to the kitchen to throw my canola oil out. My father always insists that oil from animal fat is the best oil.
Thank you. I love this. My mom used lard all the time for pie shells. Avoid fast food at all costs. Make a brick fireplace and live long. Great work!
I’ve been using Bicel margarine for a long time, and it’s always made me feel crappy after having it. I think I’ll go back to butter.
Hi! What is the downside of palm oil aside from the effects of its plantation to the environment? will appreciate your response, thank you!
Palm trees have replaced half of the rain forest? Hyperbole does not help your authenticity.
Oh, recent heart attack survivor here. Organic cold pressed Olive oil, triple filtered organic coconut oil and organic avacado oil.

Are you a real doctor? Real doctors would have known the difference between oils and fats., amd would know a rudimentary knowledge of biochemistry.
Shocked Corn oil is not on this list. Read years ago that it is one of the cooking oils that is hardest on your liver to break down and process.
Avocado Oil…any input?
And…drats I have been using Grapeseed for years for baking (prior to Keto) it is the most like butter and makes all cakes etc moist. I kept hoping you wouldn’t mention it, thought I was in the clear…and you left it for the worst offender. Egads.
I just had a food sensitivity test done and turns out coconut is on the list. So I am now looking for a new oil since I usually cook with coconut oil. I heard at one point that olive oil cooked causes it to oxidize. Is olive oil only good if it’s used cold? Or is it safe to cook with?

When I see this videos, first thing I look at is the length. 11 minutes is way too long for this subject. Sorry Im not going to sit and listen to a bunch of padding, narrative etc….just get to the effing point. Its EXTREMELY tiresome please don’t learn to like the sound of your voice. you lost me. i didn’t bother to watch. It should have been a two minute video.
So,
why exactly is hemp seed oil bad?
Are you only talking about frying?
I was under the impression hemp seed oil was super healthy.
Are there any issues using organic hemp seed oil raw or on salads?
You are so, Awesome, I love, your Videos, thank you for all you are sharing here, your Tiny House is so, Cool, Wow, love, Diana Lipski
I read years ago that the process for canola oil made it essentially a poison that is refined. who would want poison in their bodies? research this please.
Hi! I have have Lupus and Ive been seriously considering adopting a ketogenic lifestyle. However, I also want to be completely vegan by the end of 2018. I found this article on Keto/Vegan and would like your professional opinion on its effectiveness and health benefits. https://www.ruled.me/comprehensive-guide-vegan-ketogenic-diet/
I look forward to hearing from you. And thank you for your awesome laid back and honest videos on the Keto diet.
Of course if you dont eat anything or eat oils…. and even than its bad desicion!! Its not calories what your body want.better be eating food in liquid form if you undereating.
Thx!!

Why not fats from whole foods instead of refined, processed, non nutritional oils? Avocados, raw nuts, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, etc!
Oi vey! ¡Dios mio!
I dont want to eat oil.
i was diagnosed with schizophrenia
I learned more about the plant based (2010)
my schizophrenia symptoms were very similar to CVD symptoms
i went to see my doctor
(it was emotionally hard to see the doctor
he recommended me to therapy
not a second thought for DIET and CVD concern)
ive had a very hard time with doctors and being misunderstood
i prefer not to eat oil
i have a lot of stress in my life (food is a very big stressor)
i was concerned i was getting an eating disorder
(i was starting to have pain during eating)
“if adding EVOO helps me eat my veggies” Dr Gregor
If I grab my mother in-laws chicken powder and cheap cooking oils in the garbage, she will fight me! We will be kong fu in the house!
I need to go back to school, after watching this I just got Educated again. I want to go Vegan but my education is holding me back. Im almost 63
Hey Mic,
I got a question about oils.
Just realized there’s “vegetables oils” In all of my bread, peanut butter, cereal, nuts, granola and even my favorite ice cream? Bitch wth
And quality canola oil is probably the less harmful oil by far because a nice omega 3 amount and omega 3 to 6 ratio, certainly not olive oil.
Why I am not able to activate automatic subs on this video? I am not a native speaker and as you speak so fast I don’t get some information:(
Everyone is a critic. Put down the cheetos and you go make video where you can even use the word Celsius in a sentence without getting the vapors or getting a cramp in your tongue. Stupid trolls.

What are Frankenstein Fat’s?
I thought it was all the fiber. nope!
What is the verdict on sunflower or safflower oil? I noticed it’s frequently used on healthier chip options like sweet potato/beat chips.
Good points, nice to hear your perspective and see the place you’re working at. And looking good, you look a bit like you just had sex!
wait wait wait.. how can that Sauce at 3:30 be 67% fat when 4.5g of 125g isn’t even 10%..
Also how do you feel about Liver Flushing??? The process takes drinking olive oil.. and also drinking lots of Epsom salts. I’m feeling skeptic, but I am healthy enough as a whole food vegan to give it a try.

Insightful especially about the inflammatory effect on the liver meridien. Not sure about animal fats though. These days animal feed is rich in soy and corn…
Insightful especially about the inflammatory effect on the liver meridien. Not sure about animal fats though. These days animal feed is rich in soy and corn…
Dear god, typical attention-whoring video. Starts out by telling you what she’s going to talk about before actually talking about it. This video should be 3 minutes long.

How van I know my EVOO is not diluted w/vegetable oil or other toxic oils? I buy my EVOO in bulk from Market Basket, its imported from Greece in a large tin.
Please don’t use the phrase “oil Nazi” or “x Nazi”, only antisemitic uber imperialists should be called Nazis, Jewish people don’t need the flagrant reference to our murder around every corner.
What is the verdict on sunflower or safflower oil? I noticed it’s frequently used on healthier chip options like sweet potato/beat chips.
Meh, too few advertisements, and too much content. You only asked us to share it 10 times in the middle of the video. Could you increase that to 3000?
Thank you for this uplifting informs, Dr. Axe. I use primarily EVOO, although it doesn’t seem to be the best for frying.
Thanks, Dr. Axe!
People from a whole food plant base group I follow, have been saying coconut oil and olive oil are bad if cooked over 221 degrees…
So I guess you should not eat palm oil because it displaces orangutans? When I listen to a doctor, I only care about their medical or in this case nutritional opinions.

Palm trees have replaced half of the rain forest? Hyperbole does not help your authenticity.
Oh, recent heart attack survivor here. Organic cold pressed Olive oil, triple filtered organic coconut oil and organic avacado oil.
this was helpful for me because since i became Whole Foods Plant based, I get more than enough Omega-3’s….but I get almost no Omega-6’s………..though i don’t see why those grain or legume sourced oils aren’t allowed on a “fat fueled” diet because…..it’s not that grains and legumes aren’t allowed on keto, you just gotta keep it in your allowed limit.
Shocked Corn oil is not on this list. Read years ago that it is one of the cooking oils that is hardest on your liver to break down and process.
400k plus people a month interactions? Video got 120k views since 2017 and 160k subscribers. Are you saying you got that many views of all your videos on the channel a month or are you saying you actually provide nutrition advice to that many people a month?
What are Frankenstein Fat’s?
Dear god, typical attention-whoring video. Starts out by telling you what she’s going to talk about before actually talking about it. This video should be 3 minutes long.

What about rapeseed oil? I’m a newcomer having just purchased the the keto beginning and have a ton of this oil along with sesame and peanut oil which are both being swiftly being thrown into the bin!!!
Avocado Oil…any input?
And…drats I have been using Grapeseed for years for baking (prior to Keto) it is the most like butter and makes all cakes etc moist. I kept hoping you wouldn’t mention it, thought I was in the clear…and you left it for the worst offender.

I bought yesterday by mistake safflower oil.i thought sunflower oil.do you think it’s healthy to cook with or return it?? Thank you
I’d like to speak in defense of safflower oil.
3 Tbsp Tahini
3 Tbsp Vegan Probiotic Yogurt
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Lemon Pepper
1/4 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Water
The probiotic part is optional but I use the Nancy’s brand and it has probiotics in it. Use whatever you want
Oi vey!
Why not fats from whole foods instead of refined, processed, non nutritional oils? Avocados, raw nuts, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, etc!
You are so, Awesome, I love, your Videos, thank you for all you are sharing here, your Tiny House is so, Cool, Wow, love, Diana Lipski

“if adding EVOO helps me eat my veggies” Dr Gregor
Do you recommend taking algae oil? My chlorestoral is still high and my bmi is a little too but I’ve only been vegan for about 6 months now.
Please don’t use the phrase “oil Nazi” or “x Nazi”, only antisemitic uber imperialists should be called Nazis, Jewish people don’t need the flagrant reference to our murder around every corner.
I need to go back to school, after watching this I just got Educated again. I want to go Vegan but my education is holding me back. Im almost 63
Do you recommend taking algae oil? My chlorestoral is still high and my bmi is a little too but I’ve only been vegan for about 6 months now.

Why I am not able to activate automatic subs on this video? I am not a native speaker and as you speak so fast I don’t get some information:(
I’ve just recently started watching your vlogs which are great and very helpful/informative, so sorry if you have already answered this in the past.
So,
why exactly is hemp seed oil bad?
Are you only talking about frying?
I was under the impression hemp seed oil was super healthy.
Are there any issues using organic hemp seed oil raw or on salads?
Oil is actually about as dense as refined sugar, in volume they are almost equal because oil weighs less, that’s why oil floats on water while sugar sinks to the bottom. Oil also takes longer to digest than refined sugar so it’s harder to overeat on pure oil than sugar.
Good points, nice to hear your perspective and see the place you’re working at. And looking good, you look a bit like you just had sex!
I feel that healthy oils such as coconut oil are amazing for your physical and mental health.
And quality canola oil is probably the less harmful oil by far because a nice omega 3 amount and omega 3 to 6 ratio, certainly not olive oil.
Pls Stop telling people to consume saturated fat, this type of oils increase cholesterol and blood pressure, heart attack and death. Mono saturated oil and polysaturated oils are OK. Olive oil, flaxseed oil are my favorite, vegetable oil in moderation is good.
Would love to see a vidoe of the whole build one day! ^.^
Also how do you feel about Liver Flushing??? The process takes drinking olive oil.. and also drinking lots of Epsom salts. I’m feeling skeptic, but I am healthy enough as a whole food vegan to give it a try.
I need to stop my MCT consumption. I ran a short experiment and saw no extra weight loss. Only thing I noticed was a slight thermogenic effect. I’m gonna stop
GOLDMINE of information. Very,. very good video. It’s good to check some of the foods you have been buying to see if they include these items. I know that some of these oils often show up in non natural peanut butters and some other high fat products.
