The researchers found drinking just eight ounces of soda a day increased cell age by 1.9 years. Drinking 20 ounces increased cell age by 4.6 years—which is the same aging effect smoking has on your. Drinking 20 ounces increased cell age by 4.6 years—which is the same aging effect smoking has on your telomeres. Interestingly enough, the link between soda and cell aging only seems to exist for sugary, regular variety—not diet. “The extremely high dose of sugar that we can put into our body within seconds by drinking sugared beverages is uniquely toxic to. The researchers estimated that drinking 20 ounces of soda daily made you 4.6 years older. ” [Telomeres] are protective caps at the ends of.

To quench your thirst for having soda does not necessarily cause a higher risk. However, if you are in the habit of chugging one or two soda per day, then probably chicken will come home to roost because of the long term effects of drinking too much soda. If you are a fan of Coca Cola, aka Coke. Drinking a daily 20-ounce serving was linked to 4.6 more years of biological aging. “This is the first demonstration that soda is associated with telomere shortness,” Epel said in the written statement. “This finding held regardless of age, race, income and education level.”. When you drink soda, it contributes to aging in a similar manner as cigarettes.

A recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that people who drank a lot of soda had shorter telomeres in immune cells, meaning their risk of dying sooner was higher. If you drink too much soda, you may just be aging yourself on a cellular level, according to one 2014 study. According to the research, telomeres, the compound structure at the ends of chromosomes, were shorter in participants who drank more soda.

When the baking soda lowers stomach acid, it can slow the rate at which your body absorbs some medicines and change the way others work. Don’t give it to a child under 6 unless your. Start by banning carbonated cans from your diet. As the body cells divide and we get older, the telomeres that protect the genes shorten. Studies have found that sodas were associated with telomere shortness, increasing cell aging just as much as smoking.

“Soda is a factor in the aging process of the skin because it causes the body to produce all kinds of inflammatory products,” he said. “I compare it to Pac-Man, going around the body eating good.

  • Hey there! What do you mostly drink? ☕

Btw, here’s what happens to your body when you drink lemon water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryol9sVk704

  • Yet another video which says the word, “toxin” and offers no definition… There is no chemical formula for a “toxin” it’s just a marketing word.

  • I’ve replaced all drinks with water for about 6 months now. I used to workout constantly but when the whole pandemic started, I lost my motivation to workout since it had to be at home. I sit around all day and sometimes excercise, and i’ve noticed how I haven’t really put on weight, if not the opposite. Sometimes i’ll feel even skinnier.

  • I used to be 265 pounds, because I loved soda. I gave it up on February, and now I’m 209 pounds. You can still eat ice cream, just give up soda. But not everyday.

  • I drank 10/12 cokes a day for years heavy not obese. Now it’s a gallon of koolaid 1 cup suger daily. Thing is I didn’t eat at all.

  • I’ve only ever drank water…. Except for when I was younger (toddler/baby age) I drank milk, and tried apple juice. But aside from that, I haven’t had a single drink other than what I mentioned before except for water for my whole life. And like other people say, you can’t crave for something you’ve never had.

  • July 6,2019
i use to buy a 3 Liter Pepsi soda everyday
it’s my favorite but now i’ve backed off a bit &
drinking water & walking to get my weight down.
    #Happy47Me

  • I don’t get it. My family grew up southern and never drank soda with southern food. All they drank was water and iced tea with their southern food. Soda is something else….

  • Wow. I’m happy. The only drinks I like is water. Duh. Apple juice orange juice milkshake and rootbeer float.

I rarely have milkshakes or rootbear floats and I have a cup of orange juice everyday and don’t have apple juice often. Everything else is water

  • This is so misleading. How is it that God loads sugar into His own products but you never mentione this. Apparently there are 9 spoons of sugar in a can of soda. Have you ever tried to drink coffee with 9 spoons of sugar then you know that is just a lie. For me 2 spoons are best so why can I not taste the difference in a soft drink? Here is what I know. We add spices to food to make it taste better. Why not do the same with water. We call food with spices recipes. With water we call it coke, Fanta mountain dew. If ten the flavours imitate the product the product found on a tree. Like every thing use it in moderation. This is all just b/s

  • Well that’s not good my brother has been drinking a 2 liter a day for a couple years now idk how to get him to stop anyone got any ideas

  • Some random guy supposedly drinks only water for a month, and then “discovers” 10 amazing facts that he may or may not have actually experienced. His likelihood of developing heart disease dropped 47% in a month?

How would anyone know this isn’t a total made up story, with wildly exaggerated or inaccurate “facts”?

What’s missing from the video are any references to scientific studies that support the claims, no mainstream medical enterprise endorsements (e.g. the Mayo Clinic, Harvard or Stanford Medical Schools, the AMA, my local dog pound, the nurse at someone’s high school), ANYONE.

My cats drink only water, and they aren’t immune from disease but do you believe this comment about my cats & water just because I posted it “on the Internet”?

Does it make sense that drinking only water is better for you than, let’s say, bottles of cheap moonshine made from in dirty still? Intuitively that does make sense. Although if the moonshine was high quality…

But that’s a long way from factual proof about all the claims in the video.

    Let the buyer beware.

  • sooo i have never drink any beverage other than plain water for a year already but i dont see any difference to my skin and my weight still the same. The things that I notice is that I need to go to bathroom often:/ Did I do something wrong??

  • I would drink water instead, but I get sick every time I have water, but not soda. It’s actually really weird, and is quite ironic too, since water is good for you (duh)

  • The government knows the long term effects of overconsumption of sugary sodas, yet does not place warnings on the can or bottle. Doing so would create upheaval in the companies that profit from the overconsumption. We need to protect ourselves since the government won’t.

  • 6 years ago started drinking: coffee am
    Water the whole day
Sleep tea: pm. I haven’t had any colds or flu or anything health related. Not bad

  • Thanks to this video I’ve lost a lot of weight. Everytime I feel hungry I just drink a glass of water. I haven’t eaten anything for a month.

  • I started doing that I will keep you updated its been 3 days so 4
Day 1It was kinda easy in the start
Day 2I started having some urges but I stayed in water
Day 3Saw a soda can in my fridge hard to resist but I managed to resist it update: couldn’t resist it I failed but it is a 0% sugar one so I will continue and if I do it again I actually failed it

  • I know sugar is bad but nowadays I’m in absolutely everything. Go into a store the food has tons of added sugar etc it’s in your environment and you can’t change it. Go to school for lunch everybody has sugary drinks.
It’s very very difficult to go without it when it’s everywhere in your eyes

  • Cutting out soda and drinking only water is really healthy for you it helps flush out your body so you lose weight quicker drinking about 2-3 liters is recommended everyday

  • I stopped drinking any types of carbonated drinks 12 days ago and I felt lightness around my belly and i felt energetic every morning. I used to drink an 8oz of coke every afternoon, but due to my blood sugar problems(suspected type 2 diabetes), I decided to stop drinking these drinks. I added clean dieting also to my menu and I can see a bit of success by my mood every day. I’m gonna continue what I’m doing to avoid big diseases and to ensure also my long bright future.

  • For a few years I often drank Coca-Cola. Well, I put on weight and my blood pressure went up. Definitely drink soda in moderation.

  • Because Native Americans are very prone to getting diabetes (a lot of my immediate family members are/were pre-diabetic), I made the decision when I turned 19 to not drink soda, I’m 24 now. I’ve noticed the longer you go without it the less you want to have it lol

  • I drink about 8 dr pepper a day. I have a 6 pac and feel great. Everyone all ways ask me about how i do it. I tell em water is the first ingredient on back. Soooo we got that… Did i mention im over 50?

  • This is propaganda.
Especially when I’m a Diet Pepsi Addict and I don’t brush my teeth.
It was awful when I quit my addiction because when I quit my addiction I started getting dried mouth when I woke up in the morning.
But now that I’m back to diet Pepsi I don’t get dried mouth anymore.

  • Knew it. I’m an alien. Been drinking soda since 1970. I’m 50 years old. Have all my hair and teeth.. I’m. 5’9″ and 190lbs. Have had 4 cavities all before age 8. I’ve. A 34″waiat and still pretty fit for my age and carrier. So exception to the rule?

  • I’ve been drinking soda since I was in a diaper. My mother would give us it to calm us down. I’ve been drinking soda for aleast 13 years:l. Yea ok I have low vitamin d and low co2 but its not from that. I atleast drink er a couple cans a day:P I seem fine sooooo…I don’t plan stopping anytime soon!

  • I haven’t touched soda for 4 days, my day 5 is tomorrow. As well as quitting smoking too. (side note: no fap day 3 is tomorrow)
I know this may not seem large to others, but I’ve had self-control issues as long as I remember. It can be done lets do it!

  • It’s been 3 weeks since I stopped drinking soda! Still going on strong
Edit: I’ve also started drinking ONLY water.
No more soda, no more sugary drinks! I used to barley drink water… it was really bad. Now I drink at least 3-5 bottles a day! And I feel GREAT I feel more awake / happy.

  • Stopped drinking soda when I was 14 and, with the exception of the occasional alcohol mixed, haven’t drank any since. It’s really quite easy once you get to the point where you start disliking the fizz (like I genuinely dislike any drink other than plain water now, even juice, tea, coffee and alcohol). Although I’ve always been underweight, so the weight loss is more of a negative side effect for me

  • Bruh, I’m fucking 16, and I decided to stop drinking soda after noticing changes in my body, good thing I lost some pounds after stop drinking soda for a month or a year or whatever

  • I think that is just false, although too much sugar will make you put on weight.

You drink your fizzy drinks it affects you alone……People puffing their second hand smoke in my face affects them and it affects me, seeing as I am a non-smoker and causes cancer.

PS: I am not special…..I wrote that and I was not talking about myself.

  • I haven’t drank pop in over 3 years. I was 283 and lost 83 or more. I have a little beer belly because I haven’t committed to working out yet. I surprised myself and am proud.

  • LOVE my diet coke and diet dr. Pepper. Dont care that it “supposely” ages you. I call bullshit on that. Has to be the regular that does this. There are worst things to be addicted to.

  • Even though I know it’s bad for me I don’t care because it’s just that good. And I drink two sodas a day and I’m 14 and I am under weight by about 10 pounds

  • Thanks for the video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched Saankramer Life Card System (do a google search)? It is a good one off guide for learning how to stop drinking without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

  • 1. Lower high blood pressure
    2. 20% likely to develop chronic heart disease
    3. improved brain function
    4. More natural energy
    5. Stronger bone development
    6. Improved kidney health
    7. Decrease breast, prostate cancer, obesity, etc.

  • what we need is healthier soft drinks.
its not soda thats bad but certain chemicals that some companies use.
if you have a soda stream and your making your own syrups or have a trusted syrup company it wont be bad on your body.
simple syrups are made simple-its when you put chemicals that are not needed in it that messes the syrup altogether.

  • as a Russian thats my opinion. Don’t drink coke. Drink vodka. Vodka is healthier than coke. You can search it. And this is why we are not fucking fat gamburger and we are tough!

  • How do I get my brother to stop drinking like a 2 litter a day and no water is he gonna be ok idk how to get him to stop it’s been years of him being like that

  • Actually soda coke especially for me personally cleans out my stomach the best but it’s full of sugar so that’s the big concern is the sugar but it’s funny because coke can have good effect on cleaning bad stuff out of my stomach and it’s used to clean toilets sometimes so maybe we should look into some of the good in soda too not just all the bad things. I was always told to see the good in everything even during bad moments. If you think about it alcohol can numb pain and coke can clean toilets so maybe soda can clean the stomach too

  • Gotta love how they are LOW-KEY advertising sugary drinks and making them look appealing here… yet claim it’s bad. This vid coulda been done wayyy different. Dopamine is off the charts. ‍♂️

  • a couple weeks ago i stopped drinking soda and it feels great! i also stopped drinking sugary drinks, i only drink water now and it feels good

  • Addictions start at home. Don’t have Soda at home, you’ll only create an easy access to grab a can and desire more. Only drink 1 can when you go outside to build it off. It will be much easier to get rid of the addiction when you need to get outside and walk/drive all the way to the Supermarket to get it.

  • I lost about 15 lbs in 2 months just from drinking the average amount of water every day and ditching soda. Didnt even exercise that much I’d go on a run every now and then. But most the time I was playing video games or outside playing basketball

  • I’d say it is okay to have a soda every once in a while. I think Soda does a pretty good job in making a person fat, though. On the other hand, water is lovely whenever you are having it with a big meal.

  • After I stop drinking soda, juices, monster RedBull etc witch I was drinking 95% every day… my first two weeks were ugly, my body started feeling the impact of not having sugar, caffeine etc, I was feeling weak, low energy,I was cold, sweating etc this is my 4 week without consuming anything else but just water

  • Damn I drink at least 1 litre of Pepsi a day maybe 2 L.. I’m about 70 lbs over weight and I need to stop drinking “pop”! I’m gonna start at the end of the month to stop drinking pop I’m just ween myself off for the next 15 days.. wish me luck

  • How many sodas have you had in a day? What’s your favourite soft drink? After watching this video, would you consider cutting back on soda? favourite upper body and If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and share it with your friends!

  • I kid you not I was smoking around 70-100 cigs a day and drank around 2liters of coca cola as well. And the fucking soda addiction is harder to break than my cig one. Been smoke free since a year, but soda is way harder to quit for me.
