The researchers found drinking just eight ounces of soda a day increased cell age by 1.9 years. Drinking 20 ounces increased cell age by 4.6 years—which is the same aging effect smoking has on your. Drinking 20 ounces increased cell age by 4.6 years—which is the same aging effect smoking has on your telomeres. Interestingly enough, the link between soda and cell aging only seems to exist for sugary, regular variety—not diet. “The extremely high dose of sugar that we can put into our body within seconds by drinking sugared beverages is uniquely toxic to. The researchers estimated that drinking 20 ounces of soda daily made you 4.6 years older. ” [Telomeres] are protective caps at the ends of.

To quench your thirst for having soda does not necessarily cause a higher risk. However, if you are in the habit of chugging one or two soda per day, then probably chicken will come home to roost because of the long term effects of drinking too much soda. If you are a fan of Coca Cola, aka Coke. Drinking a daily 20-ounce serving was linked to 4.6 more years of biological aging. “This is the first demonstration that soda is associated with telomere shortness,” Epel said in the written statement. “This finding held regardless of age, race, income and education level.”. When you drink soda, it contributes to aging in a similar manner as cigarettes.

A recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that people who drank a lot of soda had shorter telomeres in immune cells, meaning their risk of dying sooner was higher. If you drink too much soda, you may just be aging yourself on a cellular level, according to one 2014 study. According to the research, telomeres, the compound structure at the ends of chromosomes, were shorter in participants who drank more soda.

When the baking soda lowers stomach acid, it can slow the rate at which your body absorbs some medicines and change the way others work. Don’t give it to a child under 6 unless your. Start by banning carbonated cans from your diet. As the body cells divide and we get older, the telomeres that protect the genes shorten. Studies have found that sodas were associated with telomere shortness, increasing cell aging just as much as smoking.

“Soda is a factor in the aging process of the skin because it causes the body to produce all kinds of inflammatory products,” he said. “I compare it to Pac-Man, going around the body eating good.

  • Hey there! What do you mostly drink? ☕

Btw, here’s what happens to your body when you drink lemon water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryol9sVk704

  • Yet another video which says the word, “toxin” and offers no definition… There is no chemical formula for a “toxin” it’s just a marketing word.

  • I’ve replaced all drinks with water for about 6 months now. I used to workout constantly but when the whole pandemic started, I lost my motivation to workout since it had to be at home. I sit around all day and sometimes excercise, and i’ve noticed how I haven’t really put on weight, if not the opposite. Sometimes i’ll feel even skinnier.

  • I used to be 265 pounds, because I loved soda. I gave it up on February, and now I’m 209 pounds. You can still eat ice cream, just give up soda. But not everyday.

  • I drank 10/12 cokes a day for years heavy not obese. Now it’s a gallon of koolaid 1 cup suger daily. Thing is I didn’t eat at all.

  • I’ve only ever drank water…. Except for when I was younger (toddler/baby age) I drank milk, and tried apple juice. But aside from that, I haven’t had a single drink other than what I mentioned before except for water for my whole life. And like other people say, you can’t crave for something you’ve never had.

  • July 6,2019
i use to buy a 3 Liter Pepsi soda everyday
it’s my favorite but now i’ve backed off a bit &
drinking water & walking to get my weight down.
    #Happy47Me

  • I don’t get it. My family grew up southern and never drank soda with southern food. All they drank was water and iced tea with their southern food. Soda is something else….

  • Wow. I’m happy. The only drinks I like is water. Duh. Apple juice orange juice milkshake and rootbeer float.

I rarely have milkshakes or rootbear floats and I have a cup of orange juice everyday and don’t have apple juice often. Everything else is water

  • This is so misleading. How is it that God loads sugar into His own products but you never mentione this. Apparently there are 9 spoons of sugar in a can of soda. Have you ever tried to drink coffee with 9 spoons of sugar then you know that is just a lie. For me 2 spoons are best so why can I not taste the difference in a soft drink? Here is what I know. We add spices to food to make it taste better. Why not do the same with water. We call food with spices recipes. With water we call it coke, Fanta mountain dew. If ten the flavours imitate the product the product found on a tree. Like every thing use it in moderation. This is all just b/s

  • Well that’s not good my brother has been drinking a 2 liter a day for a couple years now idk how to get him to stop anyone got any ideas

  • Some random guy supposedly drinks only water for a month, and then “discovers” 10 amazing facts that he may or may not have actually experienced. His likelihood of developing heart disease dropped 47% in a month?

How would anyone know this isn’t a total made up story, with wildly exaggerated or inaccurate “facts”?

What’s missing from the video are any references to scientific studies that support the claims, no mainstream medical enterprise endorsements (e.g. the Mayo Clinic, Harvard or Stanford Medical Schools, the AMA, my local dog pound, the nurse at someone’s high school), ANYONE.

My cats drink only water, and they aren’t immune from disease but do you believe this comment about my cats & water just because I posted it “on the Internet”?

Does it make sense that drinking only water is better for you than, let’s say, bottles of cheap moonshine made from in dirty still? Intuitively that does make sense. Although if the moonshine was high quality…

But that’s a long way from factual proof about all the claims in the video.

    Let the buyer beware.

  • sooo i have never drink any beverage other than plain water for a year already but i dont see any difference to my skin and my weight still the same. The things that I notice is that I need to go to bathroom often:/ Did I do something wrong??

  • I would drink water instead, but I get sick every time I have water, but not soda. It’s actually really weird, and is quite ironic too, since water is good for you (duh)

  • The government knows the long term effects of overconsumption of sugary sodas, yet does not place warnings on the can or bottle. Doing so would create upheaval in the companies that profit from the overconsumption. We need to protect ourselves since the government won’t.

  • 6 years ago started drinking: coffee am
    Water the whole day
Sleep tea: pm. I haven’t had any colds or flu or anything health related. Not bad

  • Thanks to this video I’ve lost a lot of weight. Everytime I feel hungry I just drink a glass of water. I haven’t eaten anything for a month.

  • I started doing that I will keep you updated its been 3 days so 4
Day 1It was kinda easy in the start
Day 2I started having some urges but I stayed in water
Day 3Saw a soda can in my fridge hard to resist but I managed to resist it update: couldn’t resist it I failed but it is a 0% sugar one so I will continue and if I do it again I actually failed it

  • I know sugar is bad but nowadays I’m in absolutely everything. Go into a store the food has tons of added sugar etc it’s in your environment and you can’t change it. Go to school for lunch everybody has sugary drinks.
It’s very very difficult to go without it when it’s everywhere in your eyes

  • Cutting out soda and drinking only water is really healthy for you it helps flush out your body so you lose weight quicker drinking about 2-3 liters is recommended everyday

  • I stopped drinking any types of carbonated drinks 12 days ago and I felt lightness around my belly and i felt energetic every morning. I used to drink an 8oz of coke every afternoon, but due to my blood sugar problems(suspected type 2 diabetes), I decided to stop drinking these drinks. I added clean dieting also to my menu and I can see a bit of success by my mood every day. I’m gonna continue what I’m doing to avoid big diseases and to ensure also my long bright future.

  • For a few years I often drank Coca-Cola. Well, I put on weight and my blood pressure went up. Definitely drink soda in moderation.

  • Because Native Americans are very prone to getting diabetes (a lot of my immediate family members are/were pre-diabetic), I made the decision when I turned 19 to not drink soda, I’m 24 now. I’ve noticed the longer you go without it the less you want to have it lol

  • I drink about 8 dr pepper a day. I have a 6 pac and feel great. Everyone all ways ask me about how i do it. I tell em water is the first ingredient on back. Soooo we got that… Did i mention im over 50?

  • This is propaganda.
Especially when I’m a Diet Pepsi Addict and I don’t brush my teeth.
It was awful when I quit my addiction because when I quit my addiction I started getting dried mouth when I woke up in the morning.
But now that I’m back to diet Pepsi I don’t get dried mouth anymore.

  • Knew it. I’m an alien. Been drinking soda since 1970. I’m 50 years old. Have all my hair and teeth.. I’m. 5’9″ and 190lbs. Have had 4 cavities all before age 8. I’ve. A 34″waiat and still pretty fit for my age and carrier. So exception to the rule?

  • I’ve been drinking soda since I was in a diaper. My mother would give us it to calm us down. I’ve been drinking soda for aleast 13 years:l. Yea ok I have low vitamin d and low co2 but its not from that. I atleast drink er a couple cans a day:P I seem fine sooooo…I don’t plan stopping anytime soon!

  • I haven’t touched soda for 4 days, my day 5 is tomorrow. As well as quitting smoking too. (side note: no fap day 3 is tomorrow)
I know this may not seem large to others, but I’ve had self-control issues as long as I remember. It can be done lets do it!

  • It’s been 3 weeks since I stopped drinking soda! Still going on strong
Edit: I’ve also started drinking ONLY water.
No more soda, no more sugary drinks! I used to barley drink water… it was really bad. Now I drink at least 3-5 bottles a day! And I feel GREAT I feel more awake / happy.

  • Stopped drinking soda when I was 14 and, with the exception of the occasional alcohol mixed, haven’t drank any since. It’s really quite easy once you get to the point where you start disliking the fizz (like I genuinely dislike any drink other than plain water now, even juice, tea, coffee and alcohol). Although I’ve always been underweight, so the weight loss is more of a negative side effect for me

  • Bruh, I’m fucking 16, and I decided to stop drinking soda after noticing changes in my body, good thing I lost some pounds after stop drinking soda for a month or a year or whatever

  • I think that is just false, although too much sugar will make you put on weight.

You drink your fizzy drinks it affects you alone……People puffing their second hand smoke in my face affects them and it affects me, seeing as I am a non-smoker and causes cancer.

PS: I am not special…..I wrote that and I was not talking about myself.

  • I haven’t drank pop in over 3 years. I was 283 and lost 83 or more. I have a little beer belly because I haven’t committed to working out yet. I surprised myself and am proud.

  • LOVE my diet coke and diet dr. Pepper. Dont care that it “supposely” ages you. I call bullshit on that. Has to be the regular that does this. There are worst things to be addicted to.

  • Even though I know it’s bad for me I don’t care because it’s just that good. And I drink two sodas a day and I’m 14 and I am under weight by about 10 pounds

  • Thanks for the video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched Saankramer Life Card System (do a google search)? It is a good one off guide for learning how to stop drinking without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

  • 1. Lower high blood pressure
    2. 20% likely to develop chronic heart disease
    3. improved brain function
    4. More natural energy
    5. Stronger bone development
    6. Improved kidney health
    7. Decrease breast, prostate cancer, obesity, etc.

  • what we need is healthier soft drinks.
its not soda thats bad but certain chemicals that some companies use.
if you have a soda stream and your making your own syrups or have a trusted syrup company it wont be bad on your body.
simple syrups are made simple-its when you put chemicals that are not needed in it that messes the syrup altogether.

  • as a Russian thats my opinion. Don’t drink coke. Drink vodka. Vodka is healthier than coke. You can search it. And this is why we are not fucking fat gamburger and we are tough!

  • How do I get my brother to stop drinking like a 2 litter a day and no water is he gonna be ok idk how to get him to stop it’s been years of him being like that

  • Actually soda coke especially for me personally cleans out my stomach the best but it’s full of sugar so that’s the big concern is the sugar but it’s funny because coke can have good effect on cleaning bad stuff out of my stomach and it’s used to clean toilets sometimes so maybe we should look into some of the good in soda too not just all the bad things. I was always told to see the good in everything even during bad moments. If you think about it alcohol can numb pain and coke can clean toilets so maybe soda can clean the stomach too

  • Gotta love how they are LOW-KEY advertising sugary drinks and making them look appealing here… yet claim it’s bad. This vid coulda been done wayyy different. Dopamine is off the charts. ‍♂️

  • a couple weeks ago i stopped drinking soda and it feels great! i also stopped drinking sugary drinks, i only drink water now and it feels good

  • Addictions start at home. Don’t have Soda at home, you’ll only create an easy access to grab a can and desire more. Only drink 1 can when you go outside to build it off. It will be much easier to get rid of the addiction when you need to get outside and walk/drive all the way to the Supermarket to get it.

  • I lost about 15 lbs in 2 months just from drinking the average amount of water every day and ditching soda. Didnt even exercise that much I’d go on a run every now and then. But most the time I was playing video games or outside playing basketball

  • I’d say it is okay to have a soda every once in a while. I think Soda does a pretty good job in making a person fat, though. On the other hand, water is lovely whenever you are having it with a big meal.

  • After I stop drinking soda, juices, monster RedBull etc witch I was drinking 95% every day… my first two weeks were ugly, my body started feeling the impact of not having sugar, caffeine etc, I was feeling weak, low energy,I was cold, sweating etc this is my 4 week without consuming anything else but just water

  • Damn I drink at least 1 litre of Pepsi a day maybe 2 L.. I’m about 70 lbs over weight and I need to stop drinking “pop”! I’m gonna start at the end of the month to stop drinking pop I’m just ween myself off for the next 15 days.. wish me luck

  • How many sodas have you had in a day? What’s your favourite soft drink? After watching this video, would you consider cutting back on soda? favourite upper body and If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and share it with your friends!

  • I kid you not I was smoking around 70-100 cigs a day and drank around 2liters of coca cola as well. And the fucking soda addiction is harder to break than my cig one. Been smoke free since a year, but soda is way harder to quit for me.

  • Hello I haven’t drank carbonated drinks for about more than a year now and never have I ever tasted alcohol. I can’t really tell any differences but, I’m still continuing to do so just because I hate how it feels like in my throat. So yeah just keep living the way the you want! Life is a one time ticket experience, don’t waste it restricting yourself, just do what you want.

  • I gained weight from my all time favorite soda coka cola that’s preety nutts to know & hear that from the guy explaining what coka cola does to us & all that crazyness!!! E’z Up to that is all I gotta say im thinking about cutting back today tonight yeah I know I can do this E’z Up to that too aswell shoot man for reel thow??? I’m not gonna continue drinking coka cola soda anymore or better yet as much then I’ll later then stop completely for myself to live a lil more longer then my time due spent here in this world you get what I’m saying thow yesca yesca that’s right & now I’m out!!! 18Triple666©Sp©licka!!!

  • I decided to stop, or avoid, other drinks than water. Why? Because I’m afraid of developing diabete or obesity. Like, really afraid. Because in general I already love sugar, I love desserts. I love milk too. Well, I’m slightly overweight, one or two kgs. However, I thought that, maybe drinking water instead of everything else might be good for my body and actually makes me lose weight!

  • Lovely Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried Patlarny Abstinent Life Principle (do a google search)? It is a great one off guide for getting rid of a drinking problem minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

  • Namaste

As per ayurveda, we must drink water on an empty stomach first thing after waking up. This process, known as Ushapan, has several health benefits like toxin elimination, reducing hyperacidity etc.

One can use copper vessal for drinking water provided it is properly cleaned and maintained.

  • It doesn’t matter how many warnings are given, most people will not listen to the dangers of sugar, especially on your teeth. Just proves everyone has the right to be stupid whenever they like. That’s ok. I’m sure the dentist would totally agree.

  • I drink a two liter bottle of Coke Zero every day. Is that harmful too? Thank you for sharing this great information!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • That is not true for everyone.. I know stop drinking all pop for a year and stop eat junk food and I gained wait.. but I went back to eat and drinking pop I went back down in weight.. some people now it some ppl don’t everyone is different…

  • I’m drinking 2 cans Pepsi a day. And I’m 62, so, yes I won’t buy no more. I got 5 cans left in fridge. They’re delicious, but my weight is getting way out of control.

  • I like the animation used in this video a lot more than the stock footage of the other videos you guys put out. Much better for use in presentations. Nice work guys.

  • They didn’t mention the high fructose corn syrup in those surgar drinks either that can destroy the metabolism among and other things in the body, it took me losing weight twice to ween off of those drinks for good and now I have no more gaining fat issues just mostly staying away from those surgar drings and drinking much more water.

  • You are drinking candy. That’s what it comes down to. I used to work with a pig that is 400 lbs minimum and offered him $1,000 to stay off soda for a month, and another,$1,000 if he could keep it up for 6 months. He didn’t even try. I picture him waddling over to the soda machine everytime I do a push-up.

  • Absolutely true I gave up my soda and regained back my life more healthy food choices no more junk food cravings seriously soda drinks should all come with a warning to your health

  • That is not exactly true Bestie. I used to drink soda all of the time when I was younger. But now at the age of 39. I totally hate the stuff. It is extremely rare that I will drink it. And that is only if it is the only thing available to drink. So far I only drank soda once this year. And that was because it was the only thing available to drink. I mostly prefer the more natural kinds of drinks now. Like ice tea, lemonade, milk, and flavored water. I personally find soda quite disgusting. Especially knowing what it can do to the inside of your body. Soda is like another form of alcohol. If drinking too much alcohol can kill you. So can drinking too much soda.

My 65 year old step father loves to drink regular Coke. And I told many times about how he should not drink it. Even my mother has told him. Especially by her yelling and screaming at him. But he still refuses to listen to any one. And he is a type 2 diabetic. And plus over 7 years ago he had to have his one heart valve replace with a pig’s valve. But he said that regular soda makes him feel better. Which I don’t believe that at all. But telling this to him is just like talking to a stone wall. You can’t tell him nothing. He thinks he knows everything when he really doesn’t. It is no wonder why I am the only smart one in this house. Because I know what I am talking about. Since I like to watch Dr. Oz. And other health related tv shows.

  • Askin for myself,Wat bout sprite,or ginger-aler they better bcaus, they’re light colored,I only might treat myself to 1,2, per monthMy Dr. Says don’t deprive urself completely, only in small quantity vs [email protected] j/a×I luv water, butsometimeugotta hv just1

  • My younger sisters are allergic to soda or something in it which makes there mouth burn and there lips blistered such a lot of people says they are unlucky but I don’t think so because they don’t have to worry about any of this.

  • I can feel heart issues and tooth decay after coke. So yeah no more soda. I was not able to breathe properly and chest was hurting like someone was stabbing it. Stay safe guys.

  • I lost my taste for soda a long time ago, just gross to me anymore. I drink iced tea, fruit punch gartorade and some water. My Mom and Uncle get headaches if they don’t have a coke and my Mom has kidney issues left and right and she’s 60. I used to drink sprite and dr.pepper now any time somebody offers me a soda? It leaves me like, ew no thanks

  • Drinking too much water however flushes out all the nutrients in the body. Some water is good but don’t overdo it.I see some people drinking 2 gallons of water a day and it’s not necessary unless you’re running the Boston Marathon which only a few people actually do. Lol

  • I drink soda every ounce in a while instead one or two a day when I was a teen. Now I only drink on special occasions like celebrating Independance Day. My next biggest challenge is quitting caffeine. It’s tough.

  • I basically did this for 3 years lol, i got to a point where i would rarely drink a bottle of water… currently 300 pounds and trying to work it off

  • I believe that everyone can enjoy a soda here and there, yes the body can handle it! have a healthy diet and you won’t run into issues, Drink this shit everyday, or all the time. Now that’s extremely unhealthy. Everything in moderation!

  • I don’t find no harm in drinking sodas for example I can drink a whole 2 litre pop in four hours a day and been drinking it every day for months and haven’t gained fat, about the teeths of mine wearing plastic teeths also I brush always brush my Teeth i’m still just as fine there’s no gap holes between my teeth but drinking Soda feels good doesn’t hurt.

In my family bloodline we got Strong DNA traits which means our bodies fights sickness without having diseases or cancer with fast metabolism and strong immune system.

  • My grandma is 96 and has drank a lot of pop her whole life hardly any water but it’s still horrible for you don’t get it twisted lol

  • our bodies aren’t evolved to intake this much sugar, but isn’t that why we drink it, so that possibly the next generation won’t effected much by sody

  • The worst thing you can do is to change from sugary sodas to diet sodas that have artificial sweeteners in them. You’re better off with the sugar and doing exercise to burn it off. Sorry soda companies, all your products are unhealthy.

  • If you want to know more how soft drinks affects our body then visit here https://fitnessproguide.com/12-side-effects-of-soft-drinks-which-is-bad-for-your-health/

  • I wish I could drink 2 or less Mountain Dew a day. I drink 6-10 Mt.Dew. I don’t gain weight so I can probably drink 18 a day and still be anorexic.

  • I can literally go the whole day without eating anything, if I have a few litres of soda. When I go on long bicycle rides, or do any type of tiring activity I literally just have 1-2 lucodazes and that lasts me the whole day

  • That video with the baby drinking soda always makes me so sad. Instant addiction development. The baby tastes the sourness, then feels the rush of the drugs and immediately takes another sip.

  • Honestly soda is bad but it so good I can’t help myself from drinking it. Especially when it comes to a meal. Food and soda. Speechless

  • 2 liters everyday which means 2000 ml of coke that is. while i drink soda for about 237 ml it has 24 grams of sugar which is healthy which i drink everyday if i get sick it would be around a hundred or thousand years

  • Stop drinking sugary beverages for a few months you start to lose the cravings and realize how disgusting they are. It’s like drinking syrup.

  • You see my question is if people thinks soda is bad for y’all “ health “! Who created soda? In the first place imagine people saying soda is bad then it’ll be banned from the entire America isn’t our fault to the person who decided to make soda in sell them out to every city’s and country.

  • I easily get hot when I’m outside, even when it is cold like below zero. I stopped drinking soda for health reasons a couple of month ago since april. I feel less hot when I’m outside, I don’t get sweaty as usual. I lost approximately 6.7 pund (3kg) and will hopefully lose more.

My stomach felt weird in the beginning and I got more tired. It has even out by now.

  • FALSE IVE DRINK SODA ALL MY LIFE SINCE I WAS AGE 5. no diabetes issues and no severe ageing going on people say i look 21 when im 39 so “f” the results

  • A good informative video. Anybody who dislikes this article simply doesn’t understand the benefits of what water does for our bodies. Think about it. Water is good for us since we really are composed mostly of water minus our other vital organs including our skin. Anybody who argues that this is not true is simply ignorant of the real facts or doesn’t understand the benefits of water does for us.

  • Yes I totally agree that a smoker and a non smoker who drinks one pop a day are the same thing. That makes so much sense. Filling your mouth nose lungs with toxic carcinogenic smoke on a regular basis has the same effect on the little pieces of Gupta candy in your brain as drinking a Coke. Wow…I see the light.

  • Why the government doesn’t require soda manufacturers to put warning signs on all soda products is puzzling. Maybe the economic consequences of many people living well into their 90’s is too much for the country to handle.

  • I’m on day 3 of drinking water from trying to quit soda. I am a horrible caffeine addict. I’m trying to only drink water or green tea non sweetened for 30 days, to kick my soda habit. I just really hope I’ll kick it this time… been trying for years.

  • I’m about a week into giving up coca cola, and I’ve never felt fatigue like this ever. I’m absolutely exhausted all the time. I won’t go back, I will push through. Has anyone else had this type of reaction? I got up to 2 litres of coke a day, after drinking it daily for years and my consumption slowly crept up from the odd can to the aforementioned amount. I stopped completely so I guess I should be expecting some symptoms.

  • I don’t totally agree with this video. It says consuming diet soda creates an increase in insulin. I am not usually hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) except when I quit drinking sodas I experience low blood sugar daily. I’v done it many times switching to water and every time I get low sugar so to me it says even diet sodas have sufficient fake sugars in it to not just “fool” your body to think it’s sugar but it actually is. Why else do I get hypoglycemic? Its not due to change in diet because I’m not on a diet. Just switched to water. Also, I don’t drink coffee, juice, energy drinks just diet pepsi and water.

  • why do you have to bring philosophy in?

    Darwinian evolution?
