  • I love this, especially what you said at the end of the video! I struggle with restricting myself from certain foods, products, etc., not because of my weight but because of a skin condition. I have always struggled with acne-prone skin, and I am still dealing with mild/moderate acne. I think other people with acne are beautiful, but I have developed unhealthy habits associated with my skin. Even though I am praying and using medications prescribed by my dermatologist and my skin is improving daily, I am still very fearful to eat certain things and to use certain products (candles, lotions, essential oils, etc.). Although I think it is good to eliminate foods or products that cause bad reactions, I am really struggling because I don’t know what if any foods or products cause me to have negative reactions. I am living in constant fear of accidentally making my skin worse or it never getting better because of something I am doing. I have developed OCD tendencies, which I am already prone to doing, and I am living with anxiety and heartache. I ask you to pray for me. I know God can break these chains that surround me.   • Hi Cambria! I loved your message at the end of the video. I’ve always been a bit chuby and I never felt really good in my body, so I made some diets along my 25 years of living and, just at this age, I’m starting to see things differently! I will never do diets again, I’m focusing on having a healthier lifestyle, eating food that I know my body needs, but if I go out for dinner, if it’s a special occasion like Christmas, I’ll eat what i want to eat, with no regrets. I think it’s just about balance, as everything in life, and I firmelly believe that i will end up losing weight, but in a healthier way, fisically and mentally!

    Stuffing, pumpkin pie, and a plethora of other thanksgiving sides are already vegetarian. Roasted veggies, cornbread, casserole, mashed potatoes, fruit salad, crackers and assorted dips, pecan pie, cherry pie, and the whole nine yards are served whenever I help with thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents’ house. With the vast selection of food other than the turkey, ham, and fish, you’d think no one complains about the “segregation” of diets. And no one does.

  • My family eats the traditional Thanksgiving meal but we also include a fall themed green salad such as apple & pear slices over romaine and spinach leaves with walnuts, cranberries and Gorgonzola. For the dressing, raspberry vinaigrette. Not everyone in my family likes yams, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. It’s nice to have some extra dishes that others can enjoy too. I would totally eat the roasted veggie salad with avocado dressing on Thanksgiving. I love everything in it. I eat avocados year round.

  • I made the lentil loaf and I really liked it that I made it again as a meal prep but instead of a loaf I just served it as a lentil mixture. I love the mixture of mushroom ans tamari with lentils.

  • My only issue is that half of the fruits and vegetables required are out of season in the winter (i.e. Kiwi, avocados, pomegranate), which means they’re more expensive and often lower quality at my grocery stores in the area.

  • Cambria, I can honestly say that outside of God, you are my biggest role-model. I truly understand how difficult a relationship with food can be. I am currently living a life headed closer and closer to balance, and I am focusing on simply taking care of myself. Your testimony really hit home with me, and I think back to the horrible times of feeling guilty and going overboard with eating. But I am free now!!! I am free in Jesus! They always say something about how I️ eat. Bc it’s just really clean. Usually chicken, Avocado and broccoli or zucchini or something else clean. I️ don’t really know how to respond. Except for one day, I️ said, this isn’t me, like look at me I️ eat healthy… I️ just feel good eating this way. I have so much energy. I’ve seen my son’s health change, bc of eating cleaner.   • I made a lentil loaf last year for thanksgiving and it was super flavorful, firm, and “meaty”. It is very similar to yours, except i added raisins which are a great contrasting flavor with the other ingredients. Your tahini gravy looks like i great idea, i will give that a try..

  • As a Southern gal, I would be remiss to not suggest cooking your cornbread in a heated cast iron skillet. Heat the oven to 450 with a
    Tablespoon of neutral tasting coconut oil in the pan to heat up while you mix the cornbread. I only use cornmeal, so gluten isn’t a problem. Keep all those great recipes coming! You are an inspiration��

But I do want to make quick and simple dishes for the vegetarians that come over. so far, I do vegetarian lasagna but I do cheat and use chicken stock because, well, it’s tasty. please do a video on not putting the vegetarians in the corner with baby. Try to keep it under 30 mins of prep and cook work. I love my vegetarians, but I don’t want to spend time on vegetarian stuff because no one else will eat it and I generally donate most of it from the holidays. thanks. love you guys, but nope. hate to tell you, but most vegan stuff the cooks dump in the garbage or we donate so presumably the shelters will dump it. and please, don’t put sugar or carbs in the stuff to make it palatable.

  • Maybe something off with the lighting. When you showed the plate of food, cornbread looked kind of anemic. Was going to suggest adding tumeric but you did. Looked better when it was shown by itself.
    (Sorry, I’m disagreeing with others’ comments on the lipstick, kind of overpower everything else and you are really cute without it.)
    Not vegan, but dairy/gluten/yeast free right now. Going to friends house for Thanksgiving. May need to make some of that gravy to take and I usually take some kind of clean veggie, as in not full of fat/dairy/sugar.
    I don’t like stuffing. Really don’t know why you would waste good bread and turn it into a soggy mess. Cornbread much better option for a carb. And roasted veggies are a fabulous sub for the stuffing!
    Lentils: interesting idea to mix the 2 kinds. Could you just start with less water so not so much fuss draining? And keep the liquid, would be great in a soup or for cooking veggies in.

  • Another great thing with brussels sprouts is apple. Mushy apple. Specifically not green apples, needs to be more red-leaning types.
    Learned it completely by accident once when I dipped a slice of it in my apple and it tasted great.

You are one of my biggest role models. I’ve been silently following you for a really long time, when you were still struggling with binge eating, and you’ve always been like a long distance friend to me.
