  • Hey, I watched your video on juicing and you gave me the final push to get a juicer. https://plus.google.com/u/0/117231930959646261436/posts/CPqSSHLfQ1C I wanted to start eating healthy foods, and I found that juicing helps. My teacher played an episode in class of this man who traveled to the U.S. and only drank juice, he did this for 60 days without any food just juice. He was tired of being lethargic and sick all the time so he started the fasting trip. So that inspired me to eat healthy, or at least try to eat healthy. So I went out to go buy a juicer, I bought the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro Juicer. I love it! it’s amazing and I love all the combinations of juices I can make, but my one gripe is that it’s very loud so I have to use it when my family is awake. Eventually when I get enough money, I will invest in a better juicer like yours. I would like to thank you for making that video, to give me some insight on how to get started with juicing.

    A few things to note:
    1) This Mark Olfert guy is the lead author.
    2) When he says they’re “95% more harmful”, his data suggest that they are, in fact, less harmful, at least according to the effects he and his team chose to measure.
    3) There is no information that I can find about where the e-juice was sourced, nor about its composition.
    4) This is the best part: from the paper, “it is more likely that it will be many decades (perhaps closer to 2050 or beyond) before a large enough study population of humans can be recruited to robustly determine the long-term impact of daily E-cig use on cardiovascular health.” I couldn’t agree more. Did you misrepresent the facts, Mark, or did CBS misrepresent you?

  • In the mice experiment, firstly that’s a whole body exposure and not something that practical in real life
    Secondly mice are already proven to not give accurate results for human health experiments
    Thirdly mice are smaller which means that the processes and system of them compared to Humans is enormously different
    Fourthly if you still believe in the mice experiment then I’d like to point out that in that very experiment, the graph showed how less harmful e cigarettes are, the line for cigarettes went sharply up whilst the e cigarette line was constant and low
    And Fifth propylene glycol which in the name suggests is an alcohol and not and oil, it is water soluble and oils are not which further process that propylene glycol is not an oil, go back and learn your chemistry you ignorant “scientist”
    Lastly, people who vape don’t vape regularly, they’ll vape and have a break and in between that break the body has already done some cleaning and recovery if any, smokers on the other hand find it hard to stop and keep increasing their intake which doesn’t give ty body any time to clean up and recover quickly nor properly

  • if it doesnt cause cancer, or it causes like 90 percent less cancer how is it nearly as harmful as ciggerates. even if it does cause problems with your heart, it doesnt cause the same type of lung problems which is what kills smokers. it is hard for me to trust vaping safety studies because there is so much money involved. either they say its 95 percent safer than smoking or its worse than smoking and it will instantly put you in the hospital.

  • Doctor, l just wonder If you don’t eat animal products, then how do you get protein? The God creates animals for us to eat in order to be healthy. You said that more people suffer from heart disease and mortality is getting higher in US nowadays. I suspect seed oils like canola, corn oil, vegetable oil and soya bean oil are the cause of these all, not animal products.

  • good info, ive been juicing since january ( new year ) to loose weight and lost  7 pounds. im a manager at Jamba juice and i bought a juicer because i dont plan to stay at JJ. now i juice to replace “a” meal, not aall meals, and eat non gmo, non process food. i dont eat dairy nearly at all and no eggs ( some organic cheeze ) im still learning but its been a great change! only set back now is ive become very anti-FDA and anti-ADA. learning the truth really pisses you off.

  • was very sick and without going into the gory details, I had a choice of either being in so much pain that it was difficult to even sleep or just not eat so that my lower intestines were always pretty much vacant. As you may surmise it was bowel problems. So I had the choice to either eat and be in pain almost all the time & not sleep as well or just constantly fast. I chose the ladder for about three months but one cannot go without eating for too long so something needed to happen. So I talked to a friend (Mark Doneddu) and I said “I need to do something quick or else I’ll just waste away.” After explaining what the problem was, he said, “That’s simple just drink a lot of freshly squeezed or compressed organic chlorophyll.” I wasted no time I purchased a vegetable juice/compressor and started drinking (about one or two cups) a combination of organic; spinach, coriander, chard, celery, carrot and kale leaves every day. On day three I noticed an improvement and on day ten I was completely healed, so much so that when I went in for a colonoscopy they could not find any problems. I need to add that during the three month period that I was basically either in pain, fasting &/or both everything the ‘doctors’ gave me did not work or in fact made the situation worse.

  • This view is very wrong. A Study published in March this year on Dietary Cholesterol and Eggs in the Journal of the American Medical Association analyzed data from 6 of the largest Heart Disease Risk studies done from 1985–2016, and stated the false claim that “Among US adults, higher consumption of dietary cholesterol or eggs was significantly associated with higher risk of incident CVD and all-cause mortality in a dose-response manner. These results should be considered in the development of dietary guidelines and updates.”

    However, if you look at the Data they reported in the Figures / Tables, Cholesterol is shown to be the Lowest Risk Factor and Fiber is a Higher Risk Factor than Sodium or Processed Meat. Low Saturated Fat diets had the Highest Risk. Study Link and selected Data for comparison below:

  • I used to juice veggies and fruits before using “slow” speed juicer trying to consume more “nutrients” as recommended by alternative health advocates for a few years but over time I kept on “reasoned” with myself whether this is this “natural”? I finally came to the conclusion that Humans were “designed” and “built” to “grind” foods with teeth speed which is even much much slower than the slowest juicer in the market keeping the natural fibers for “retaining” the ground foods well mixed with the natural “saliva enzymes” before passing down to the stomach (“reactor”) for digestion (chemical reaction). With this kind of self reasoning I concluded Mother Nature is way way better than “present day human science” as the Mother Nature itself is the best science on Earth but humans are still spending huge resources to find the answers which are right in front of us! I suggest just go to the basics, and keep everything simple! is enough to maintain a healthy body, mind and spirit.

    4) This is the best part: from the paper, “it is more likely that it will be many decades (perhaps closer to 2050 or beyond) before a large enough study population of humans can be recruited to robustly determine the long-term impact of daily E-cig use on cardiovascular health.” I couldn’t agree more. Did you misrepresent the facts, Mark, or did CBS misrepresent you?

    Everyone projects their stories of diet success and then think their way is the cure for all. This doctor had high ldl cholesterol so he cuts out cholesterol by going vegan. Yet studies show arterial plaque is largely caused by immune cells due to inflammation in the body. Lectins and other anti nutrients from grains/seeds/and nuts in a vegan diet are extremely high. Lectins are poison to the body (plants produce them to stop themselves being eaten by us!) lectins cause bowel inflammation and hyper immune response. Leaky gut ensues, then immune system goes on hyper alert throughout the body, leaving evidently a trail of immune cells lodged everywhere, including arteries, leading to heart attacks/strokes etc.
    Has he had his hormone levels tested? This doctor, A man of 65 with pronounced balding and very thin hair, who’s been vegan for 15 years, eating soy based foods, which bind up estrogen receptors but don’t ‘act like’ estrogen in the body, so the body slowly doesn’t bother making its own, while testosterone levels remain high, leading to baldness and diminished sex drive. Estrogen is needed in men for libido! Ask all those guys scratching their heads why they have tested high testosterone levels and no sex drive and /or penile function.
    So he stops eating cholesterol and his numbers reduce. What type of eggs was he consuming? There’s a vast difference in nutrition and toxicity of an egg between a caged hen fed GM corn versus a truly organic, roaming free on pasture, dirt, bug, grass eating hen. All studies regarding egg effects on people are from people consuming ‘regular’ eggs.
    CHOLESTEROL IS THE PRIMARY FOOD FOR MAKING HORMONES IN THE BODY. Without cholesterol hormone production is nil. The body synthesizes some, but not all required for our modern lifestyles. hormones run our entire system.
    I’ve been all diets, no meat for 25yrs (that’s forever!), vegan for 10 yrs, not junk food vegan either. I now add organic dairy from free roaming animals, and eggs. I do better. Sharper brain too, instead of always searching for words like this doctor is suffering with. We are all different in our nutritional needs, there will never be ‘one size fits all’.
    Question is, what should vegans and vegetarians do about all the ‘anti-nutrients’ in grains/seeds and nuts and certain vegetables? seems like nothing on this earth wants to be killed as food. Would you?! Everything is conscious of its life, no matter if us holy humans consider that life to be inferior to our own!     Just because someone eat’s meat doesnt make them a carnavor. A carnavor is someone who eats only meat. The lack of canines is not evidence that meat is unhealthy. I heard a vegan say our mouth cant digest meat. Thats as dumb an argument as the fact that our colon cant digest vegitables. The fact is our mouth only breaks down carborhydrates. We dont digest meat or plants in our mouth. If we werent designed for eating meat then we wouldnt have a craving for it and we wouldnt be able to digest it.

  • was very sick and without going into the gory details, I had a choice of either being in so much pain that it was difficult to even sleep or just not eat so that my lower intestines were always pretty much vacant. As you may surmise it was bowel problems. So I had the choice to either eat and be in pain almost all the time & not sleep as well or just constantly fast. I chose the ladder for about three months but one cannot go without eating for too long so something needed to happen. So I talked to a friend (Mark Doneddu) and I said “I need to do something quick or else I’ll just waste away.” After explaining what the problem was, he said, “That’s simple just drink a lot of freshly squeezed or compressed organic chlorophyll.” I wasted no time I purchased a vegetable juice/compressor and started drinking (about one or two cups) a combination of organic; spinach, coriander, chard, celery, carrot and kale leaves every day. On day three I noticed an improvement and on day ten I was completely healed, so much so that when I went in for a colonoscopy they could not find any problems. I need to add that during the three month period that I was basically either in pain, fasting &/or both everything the ‘doctors’ gave me did not work or in fact made the situation worse.

  • I consume juice twice a day, first thing in the morning and then early evening. I only juice green apples and carrots at this stage (following the Gerson way). Each time I juice one large green apple and 4 medium size carrots.
    My question is whether these items are sugar rich (specially carrots) and could possibly, if i start doubling the quantities, cause my blood glucose levels to shoot up and could possibly induce diabetes?

  • good info, ive been juicing since january ( new year ) to loose weight and lost  7 pounds. im a manager at Jamba juice and i bought a juicer because i dont plan to stay at JJ. now i juice to replace “a” meal, not aall meals, and eat non gmo, non process food. i dont eat dairy nearly at all and no eggs ( some organic cheeze ) im still learning but its been a great change! only set back now is ive become very anti-FDA and anti-ADA. learning the truth really pisses you off.

  • 15:06 I was drinking almost 120 ounces (all day) while I was working outside on my job. On relaxed days I drink from 60 to 90 ounces. Green juice (organic and sometimes non-organic and sometimes partially)

  • I use my Vita Mix to juice any water-rich fruit of vegetable, and it comes out just fine.  Now with carrots, well, that’s a different story (unless you don’t mind the grittiness of the carrots).  I normally use my juicer for carrots or beets.
     I made a green juice this morning in my Vita Mix,  using spinach, broccoli, kale, an orange, and a Cara Cara Navel (orange), plus a sprig of basil.  I also added a little water.  It was delicious and very smooth…no sign of pulp like it juiced!  
    I actually don’t mind the fiber or pulp.

  • The first test has been done many times, and it shows how bad cigs are. But it doesn’t really take into account the time between vaping, where you breathe regular air and clear your lungs of the very small amount of moisture on the cotton. People don’t vape for 2 hours straight with no clean air. But that stuff definitely builds up from cigs like the test shows.

    The 2nd testing exposes “2nd hand” vapor to the rats, which I believe is completely different from directly vaping. If that rat was exposed to 2nd hand cig smoke in the same way, I think it would have died very quickly.

    I also echo the other statements that VG and PG are not oil-based liquids. Vaping has been around for 10+ years. If they were oils and caused major problems, we would have heard about it a long time ago. I almost totally dismiss the 2nd test and its procedures.

  • Dr. Gundry I respectfully disagree. I recently spent a few months juicing because I thought I had cancer. My health improved dramatically and I lost weight without trying 60 lbs to be exact. I have plenty of fiber in my diet. I est a large green salad every day and have done that for years as one of my meals. My understanding is that juicing helps us to get more nutrients into our bodies faster to help us heal. And it also gives us extra enzymes. I hope others can consider juicing when healing an extreme malady. The lump on my breast I thought was cancer shrunk dramatically within a week if beginning to juice.

    Thank fully by the time I got to have a biopsy (3 1/2 months to diagnosis), it turned out to be benign. But I felt so good I kept juicing. I ate a lot, as much as ever. Soon my pants were falling off and I thought they were wearing out. I discovered it was weight loss when I went to have an x-ray due to a broken toe.

  • Great talk. Juicing is good ; D Look at Jay Kordich Mr. Juiceman himself. My dilemma is taking the time to do it. I go through spurts of juicing. I did do carrot and apple juice everyday for almost a month and noticed a big improvement in my skin and hair. This was a good 15 years ago before I became vegan even so I know it’s good. It’s really about making it easy for people. If all someone has is a blender then that’s the best they can do at the moment. You can even add carrots, beets, etcc to smoothies.

  • Celery is one of the most dirty foods one can eat. It’s way up to the top of the high side of the “dirty dozen”. Google it.     Secondly mice are already proven to not give accurate results for human health experiments

  • Dr Gundry I like your videos normally but in this video, you are misleading by saying juices are bad. You bringing up sugars over and over again. People who have gut/other health problems and been eating all their lives without a break, need to give their intestines a break. Personally, for me and many other people, green juices have been extremely powerful. I would assume a person who does fruit juices is sitting with poor knowledge about juicing. Fruit juices as you say is very high in sugars. So why would someone drink that unless miss informed or not informed at all? How about a mix of Cucumber Kale, spinach, ginger and lemon. Would this be unhealthy for you?

  • Hey I just recently had this crazy idea. What if under correct nutritional situations dental plaque is beneficial to us? Not sure if it’s true I’m not a dentist or whatever. What if besides the fluoride for disabling our natural built in tooth brush also scrubbing the plaque is effecting something. Like does that House our microbiom? The teeth’s natural defense?

About three years ago, I started training with a personal trainer because I had suffered an injury that lead to shoulder surgery and I had become so weak that I wanted to make sure I exercised correctly so I would not have another injury. To help me gain muscle, she highly recommended Isogenix protein shakes. I religiously drink these about four times a week. I am now 62 years old and weigh 118 lbs. I really want to keep what strength I’ve gained and build on getting stronger. Three years ago, I could hardly lift 3 lbs. Overall, I just want to be strong and healthy. Other than these shakes, I follow the plant paradox way. My trainer was the person who told me about you too! Am I hurting my body by continuing these shakes?

I have been eating more raw fruits and yogurts, from grapefruits, oranges, grapes, bananas etc but i always feel sluggish, but yet i feel energetic. i think juicing will help quell the time it takes to consume fruits and veggies, im hearing “hurom” models are great for juicing any reccomendations?

  • This does not end the keto diet debate for me. There is no mention about the difference of eating grass-fed meat as opposed to grain-fed meat products, no mention of the difference between organic meat and meat treated with hormones and antibiotics, and there is no mention about good (large particle) LDL and the inflammatory small particle LDL. Our brain is made of fat and cholesterol. That’s why the keto diet helps with epilepsy and other brain diseases.Saturated fats are good for you, that’s why we have a gallbladder to help digest them. A mango will raise your blood sugar to dangerous levels if you are insulin resistant; I don’t see how this could be of benefit to diabetics. If you are young or haven’t been overweight for decades, maybe you can handle the whole-foods plant-based diet, otherwise I’d go keto.

What did we eat before in early days of human civilization? im just trying to be rationale here. Did we eat fruits and vegetables or did we hunt and kill animals and eat them to sustain ourselves? Also when i consume sugar and grains i feel as though my teeth become weaker and i notice right away when i consume sugar i can feel it in my mouth which i know isnt stating any facts but just an honest observation.   • I’m so sick of hearing about juicing vs blending. What people have to realize is both are excellent to do. Whichever you prefer just go ahead and use that. It’s such a fine line between the two your really splitting hairs when it comes down to it. If you have 1-200lbs to lose then blending is great just because your going to need the fiber to help keep you regular. If you are thinner and just want to lose 10-20lbs then juicing is better. Whatever keeps you away from fast foods/processed foods is the goal.

  • I am a constant follower and believer of your teachings Dr. Gundry. But on this one I think you are not exactly right and maybe you would want to do some additional research. I’ve been a vegetable juicer for years (with sometimes a little fruit, green apples I prefer). My blood readings for sugar don’t show what you say, and my health and energy results are amazing. I do take my fiber also during the day, but it’s impossible to take ALL the fiber from for a example 15 big carrotts, which would be a good guess for my daily juicing intake. Please review the GERSON therapy for curing cancer. It includes juicing every hour and results are amazing. I’ve seen it myself. With love and admiration. JD

  • Uhh…it’s disingenuous to generally say that the ketogenic diet is bad…unless he’s referring to the animal based keto diet, but beyond that the keto diet can also be vegan or vegetarian, so maybe the title is misleading. Listen the ketogenic diet is effective…guess what?All diets are effective, the trick is understanding how your body works and how do you plan on lowering your caloric intake. Even if you stuff you face with raw carrots and tree bark from Whole Foods you won’t ever lose weight nor become healthier if you surplus your daily caloric intake and decide to excess the need that you body needs for vitamins and carbs/fat/protein. It’s not easy and it never will be that’s why there’s a whole science field dedicated to health and nutrition. Spend more time learning about metabolic processes in your own body, basic physiology, how to cook, how to build your increments during exercise, and mental compatibility to these regiments. Spend less time trying to validate a dietary superiority, that does nothing but feed into another human made organization that dilutes perception.

  • Speaking from personal experience, carrot juice can shrink tumor-like growths. The sugar is absorbed into the cells of the growth but works like a trojan horse bringing nutrients along that shrink the growth.

  • The diet that works for someone in the short term is not always the best for the long term. Living longer is great, but not if you are sick, overweight, in pain, and are barely able to function. Who wants to live to 90 feeling that way? Keeping tabs on cholesterol, body fat, artery circulation, energy, blood sugar, and other markers will tell you if a diet change is in order.

  • Dr Gundry I like your videos normally but in this video, you are misleading by saying juices are bad. You bringing up sugars over and over again. People who have gut/other health problems and been eating all their lives without a break, need to give their intestines a break. Personally, for me and many other people, green juices have been extremely powerful. I would assume a person who does fruit juices is sitting with poor knowledge about juicing. Fruit juices as you say is very high in sugars. So why would someone drink that unless miss informed or not informed at all? How about a mix of Cucumber Kale, spinach, ginger and lemon. Would this be unhealthy for you?

  • Sorry, but there is nothing wrong with drinking juices from things like ginger, turmeric, kale, celery, lemon, etc. Low sugar, high potency ingredients when juiced are far more valuable, eatable/drinkable than in whole form. If juicing helps you actually take in these ingredients, then juice it! Just watch out for sugary stuff as you would anything else.

  • Are you familiar with Urine Therapy and Urine Fasting as a method of detox and cancer cell starvation? What’s your take on this? A Dr. by the name of Geoff Ames was curing people of cancer using this method and a few others before being forced to move his practice out of country.

  • You definitely have some clarifications to do…
    1st) is the Vape used on this poor lab-rat nicotine free? or it is “pure nicotine”? Cause I suppose that if the rat is exposed daily at 20% or more nicotine, perhaps that percentage was low (correct me if i am wrong) nicotine is the cause of stiff arteries.
    (Vaping, at least offers a potential user, the choice of vaping with or without nicotine)

  • I am 112 lbs and 32 oz fills me up perfectly for 2 hours.:P organic is so important… with the chem-trail sprays it’s hard though to get the quality you want. I am a big supporter of growing greens hydroponically, and micro greens inside., green house growing is super important too.

I have watch video from him for years.Its almost like the juice has effected him mentally, and I mean this sincerely.   • Dr. Gundry I respectfully disagree. I recently spent a few months juicing because I thought I had cancer. My health improved dramatically and I lost weight without trying 60 lbs to be exact. I have plenty of fiber in my diet. I est a large green salad every day and have done that for years as one of my meals. My understanding is that juicing helps us to get more nutrients into our bodies faster to help us heal. And it also gives us extra enzymes. I hope others can consider juicing when healing an extreme malady. The lump on my breast I thought was cancer shrunk dramatically within a week if beginning to juice.

    Thank fully by the time I got to have a biopsy (3 1/2 months to diagnosis), it turned out to be benign. But I felt so good I kept juicing. I ate a lot, as much as ever. Soon my pants were falling off and I thought they were wearing out. I discovered it was weight loss when I went to have an x-ray due to a broken toe.

  • one year of plant based following Joel Fuhrmans protocol did nothing for this type 2 bypassed heart old man A1C remained at 6.3 with 2000 mg metformin, Ejection fraction remained at the set baseline of 37%. Hdl was 45 and trigs close to 200. Just too
    many carbs in plant based. Switched to keto and 9 months later A1C was 5.1 with no meds, ejection fraction raised to 48%. Hdl up to 84 and trigs down to 44. I will eat keto/carnivore the rest of my life. Feel better than I have for 20 years

  • This is all lies and BS. This makes entirely no sense. Burning tabacco with thousand of chemical components, including rat poison and carbon monoxide is nowhere near more dangerous than inhaling water vapor. All of that tar and disgusting stuff. U can smoke e cigs and it will NOT harm u at all.

  • I find Fuhrman has the nutrition ideas that I find make the most sense. He does not seem to believe that either juicing or blending are that great as compared with a real diet of whole foods. I prefer blending because it keeps the fiber in my food. It is also easier to clean or rinse out a blender than it is a juicer. I do not use my juicer, so I tend to think that John is pushing juicers with a hard sell because he makes his living off it. Consequently you get all these ridiculous enhancements like vacuum blending or other flashy bells and whistles that drive the American economy.

    I would disagree with him that once you are programmed into the American diet that one ever loses their taste for Cokes, or the strong chemical flavors one grows up with sadly. I can go a year without drinking a Coke, but as soon as I might have a sip it all comes back to me. It is very dangerous. I wish I had never been fed these foods, they are like heroin or nicotine or even caffeine they are addictive drugs that do nothing for us at best and at worst cultivate chronic diseases that will eventually kill us. That is what our country has evolved into, and all the other garbage falls out from these bad ideas that put money before people.

  • First off, so no one misunderstands, I’m vegan….Sorry, but one study will not change my mind about dairy, when he says that dairy does not cause cancer deaths at 8:58 The same reasoning he gave for the eggs not affecting heart attacks at 9:20 because ‘dead people don’t have heart attacks’, could be applied to dairy, only reversed, because when a person is consuming dairy they are no doubt consuming other animal products, even if it’s just eggs such as with vegetarians (and he did say eggs were worse then processed meat at 9:04), which not only cause cancer deaths as he pointed out, but also the mortality rate for meat eaters after a significant heart attack is high, so it could be that the cancer from the other animal meat consumption or their heart gives out before anything else (dairy) can kill them, but that doesn’t mean that the dairy wouldn’t eventually. I have a hard time listening to any doctor that advocates statins and ‘poly drugs’, and has been filmed saying that statins and poly drugs are not just okay, but are good, and has been in a ‘friendly’ debate with other plantbased doctors over statins as seen in another video

  • Yes, I have a question about something. About three years ago, I started training with a personal trainer because I had suffered an injury that lead to shoulder surgery and I had become so weak that I wanted to make sure I exercised correctly so I would not have another injury. To help me gain muscle, she highly recommended Isogenix protein shakes. I religiously drink these about four times a week. I am now 62 years old and weigh 118 lbs. I really want to keep what strength I’ve gained and build on getting stronger. Three years ago, I could hardly lift 3 lbs. Overall, I just want to be strong and healthy. Other than these shakes, I follow the plant paradox way. My trainer was the person who told me about you too! Am I hurting my body by continuing these shakes?

  • yo okraw, im very interested in juicing although i am a novice in terms of the topic; for over 7 years i have been eating bad from the usual fast foods to frozen foods, however these days im quite motivated. I have been eating more raw fruits and yogurts, from grapefruits, oranges, grapes, bananas etc but i always feel sluggish, but yet i feel energetic. i think juicing will help quell the time it takes to consume fruits and veggies, im hearing “hurom” models are great for juicing any reccomendations?

    Ohh believe me there are ways to accomplish that. For example, certain friends of mine do juice fasts where it’s basically only green juices, and only one green per juice. So the poor people get nothing but carrot juice at one serving. To me, that’s a form of torture, and completely ridiculous considering you can mix up basically whatever you like, and it will always be good and healthy. And also, setting aside one week per year for doing this very special thing, only to then go back to your usual crappy eating habits, is ineffectual, unhealthy, and dissatisfying.

I have avoided them for more than 20 years because I read they alter the stomach PH by neutraluzing acid. Also because of the aluminum content in baking soda. Also, please let us know about the use of active dry yeast, is it safe?

  • if it doesnt cause cancer, or it causes like 90 percent less cancer how is it nearly as harmful as ciggerates. even if it does cause problems with your heart, it doesnt cause the same type of lung problems which is what kills smokers. it is hard for me to trust vaping safety studies because there is so much money involved. either they say its 95 percent safer than smoking or its worse than smoking and it will instantly put you in the hospital.

  • The minute you harvest a vegetable it starts degrading. So does that mean we shouldn’t eat it? Of course not. Don’t get too wrapped up with analysis. What about the elderly who lack the stamina (or teeth) to chew? Just give them Twinkies?! My advice is to do whatever you must do to get as many fruits and vegetables as you can in your diet. Same with seeds, such as flax or hemp. If making a smoothie helps do this, go for it!

  • I agree with part of this BUT What about those of us who juice mostly greens, more greens then we could eat in an average sitting. Sure, keep the pulp and use it for something else, but if I’m juicing spinach, kale, cabbage & celery for a healthy drink, is that not beneficial for me? I’m certainly not going to sit there and actually eat all of that for a meal. So juicing allows me to get many of those nutrients that I would otherwise not be getting. Am I totally mistaken about this?

  • More than 10 years I have a smoothie every midday after collecting wild + garden greens + little fruits only + a little water. But I don’t drink it, I eat/spoon + chew it with nuts on top. What do most people do when they have a juice? Do they chew it???

  • juice vegetables that have no to low sugar like, celery, cucumber, lettuce, and kale. use whole spinach in the bullet with some water then add it with the vegetable juices mentioned above. that way you get the fiber and the vitamin benefits. the end result should be a beautiful darkish green color. it doesn’t taste great but its extremely healthy however if you’re a taste junkee, then go head and add in an apple. i don’t add fruit because i prefer to eat them but once or twice a week i’ll have fruit juice or carrot juice. along with drinking vegetable juice i also eat my veggies in salad form with low fat ranch dressing, steamed,  or stir fried with olive oil. grilled chicken breast, rice, hotsauce and beans as the main dish completes my normal daily diet. i juice like 3-4 times a week and the days i dont juice i take a multi mineral vitamin. i don’t recommend taking vitamins and juicing the same day. however in my opinion it’s okay to eat veggies and fruits with vitamins.

  • Hello from the shores of Canada Dr. Gundry. I recently reversed my Diabetes2 within 8 months of diagnosis. I’ve just turned 60 and can certainly tell you I feel so much better than about a year ago. I was insulin resistant and didn’t even know it until I started drinking water to no end and peeing almost as much as I drank water. Going to my Doctor, I did some tests and on my next meeting I said to him, Doc, I think I’m pre diabetic. He said, Lane, your not pre diabetic, YOU ARE DIABETIC……well, that was the shock for me to get my you know what into gear. I started my research and through many great books I’ve read, I must tell you, you make the most sense when it came to removing certain foods and being “ OK “ with others. My new acronym in life. I,G,E. Not just in food choices but in everything I do.. “ It’s Good Enough”. Since changing my ways of eating and living (exercising and fasting), a few other wonderful things have happened. At 19 years of age I was diagnosed with a high normal blood pressure and the only doctor advice back then was exercise a lot and stay fit. No concerns about diet sugars etc. So I exercised and it worked til I hit the age of 50. I had to be put onto 5 different meds including a statin drug I didn’t want to be on, but pleased and proud to say, I am drug free. Wow! Those crazy lectins, mostly sugars almost killed me. Like my father, he too suffers the same conditions I suffered and this got me thinking not only to my own mortality but his too. I seem to follow my fathers genetics more than my mothers and Unfortunately my father has the markers of Alzheimer’s. At 87 it’s hard to change his ways of eating and my mother also shows of dementia. They are currently in a retirement home that feeds them what I call death food. There condition was getting worse by the months went by. Even though the management knowingly knows of my folks condition, they continue to feed them garbage foods with lots of sugars. And this is supposed to be a top facility. After what I’ve gone through in my health turnaround, I’m helping my folks re learn how to cook and snack. They still need to be in some kind of care but now cooking for themselves. I’ve got my mother cooking a “sort of “ Grundy diet because I can’t convince mom completely on everything…however, what I’ve noticed in the last six months is how much better they both are and how much more alert my dad is. I’ve taught them we don’t need everything all the time. I continue to step in and help them still in every way I can because IGE.

  • Good advices. I am in my third day of my 60 days feast ( I hope) and I just made a juice out of cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot and another two greens…and I barely drank it, it tasted so bad…thanks for advices. I have to be inventive from now on because I really want to finish my “feast”….

  • Are nut butters more bioavailable than nuts in whole form. What about pea/pumpkin protein powders. I’m concerned I’m not getting the amount of protein my body requires.

I was in an elevator during a visit to my local Clinic hospital recently when a young, slender woman got on carrying a huge donut in each hand.   • John, would you address storing juices/produce?  Being a gardener near the Canadian border, I grow over 100 fruit and nut trees and have a large veggie garden.  Thus I’m not going to buy, let’s say apples, in the winter, but use my own as I squeeze and freeze gallons of apple cider each fall.  I store what apples I can, but the berries, etc. get put into the freezer.  Pears, plums, etc. get dried.  Economically, it just makes sense for us gardeners to do it that way.  It’s one thing to grow it, but how are you going to store it so it lasts the entire year in a cold region—that’s what I’d like to see you address.  Thanks.

  • Coronary artery disease is caused by obesity. Keto and carnivore diets will cause weight loss and help maintain a healthy weight with ease. This will reduce stress hormones, which also play a factor in heart disease. So giving up smoking and alcohol will reduce heart disease risks as well but I would reccomend all of the above.

  • Vegans say meat eaters have higher rates of heart disease. Well then I’ll say vegan’s have higher rates of tooth decay, diebetes and age fast than Keto dieters because sugar is vegan. Neither is a logical argument.
    Just because someone eat’s meat doesnt make them a carnavor. A carnavor is someone who eats only meat. The lack of canines is not evidence that meat is unhealthy. I heard a vegan say our mouth cant digest meat. Thats as dumb an argument as the fact that our colon cant digest vegitables. The fact is our mouth only breaks down carborhydrates. We dont digest meat or plants in our mouth. If we werent designed for eating meat then we wouldnt have a craving for it and we wouldnt be able to digest it.

  • Sorry, but there is nothing wrong with drinking juices from things like ginger, turmeric, kale, celery, lemon, etc. Low sugar, high potency ingredients when juiced are far more valuable, eatable/drinkable than in whole form. If juicing helps you actually take in these ingredients, then juice it! Just watch out for sugary stuff as you would anything else.

  • I use my Vita Mix to juice any water-rich fruit of vegetable, and it comes out just fine.  Now with carrots, well, that’s a different story (unless you don’t mind the grittiness of the carrots).  I normally use my juicer for carrots or beets.
     I made a green juice this morning in my Vita Mix,  using spinach, broccoli, kale, an orange, and a Cara Cara Navel (orange), plus a sprig of basil.  I also added a little water.  It was delicious and very smooth…no sign of pulp like it juiced!  
    I actually don’t mind the fiber or pulp.

  • The minute you harvest a vegetable it starts degrading. So does that mean we shouldn’t eat it? Of course not. Don’t get too wrapped up with analysis. What about the elderly who lack the stamina (or teeth) to chew? Just give them Twinkies?! My advice is to do whatever you must do to get as many fruits and vegetables as you can in your diet. Same with seeds, such as flax or hemp. If making a smoothie helps do this, go for it!

  • you mention fruit a lot but what about the vegetables i can only speak for myself but i always juice only the vegetables different types of lettuce, swiss chard, cilantro watercress dandelion etc… sometimes a small green apple and i save the pulps for baking i also use lemons and limes quite often everyday pretty much I never like fruits in my juice it would make me nauseous, thanks for the info you providing us

My teacher played an episode in class of this man who traveled to the U.S. and only drank juice, he did this for 60 days without any food just juice. He was tired of being lethargic and sick all the time so he started the fasting trip. So that inspired me to eat healthy, or at least try to eat healthy. So I went out to go buy a juicer, I bought the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro Juicer. I love it! it’s amazing and I love all the combinations of juices I can make, but my one gripe is that it’s very loud so I have to use it when my family is awake. Eventually when I get enough money, I will invest in a better juicer like yours. I would like to thank you for making that video, to give me some insight on how to get started with juicing.

  • You definitely have some clarifications to do…
    1st) is the Vape used on this poor lab-rat nicotine free? or it is “pure nicotine”? Cause I suppose that if the rat is exposed daily at 20% or more nicotine, perhaps that percentage was low (correct me if i am wrong) nicotine is the cause of stiff arteries.

  • I agree with part of this BUT What about those of us who juice mostly greens, more greens then we could eat in an average sitting. Sure, keep the pulp and use it for something else, but if I’m juicing spinach, kale, cabbage & celery for a healthy drink, is that not beneficial for me? I’m certainly not going to sit there and actually eat all of that for a meal. So juicing allows me to get many of those nutrients that I would otherwise not be getting. Am I totally mistaken about this?

  • 15:06 I was drinking almost 120 ounces (all day) while I was working outside on my job. On relaxed days I drink from 60 to 90 ounces. Green juice (organic and sometimes non-organic and sometimes partially)

  • This does not end the keto diet debate for me. There is no mention about the difference of eating grass-fed meat as opposed to grain-fed meat products, no mention of the difference between organic meat and meat treated with hormones and antibiotics, and there is no mention about good (large particle) LDL and the inflammatory small particle LDL. Our brain is made of fat and cholesterol. That’s why the keto diet helps with epilepsy and other brain diseases.Saturated fats are good for you, that’s why we have a gallbladder to help digest them. A mango will raise your blood sugar to dangerous levels if you are insulin resistant; I don’t see how this could be of benefit to diabetics. If you are young or haven’t been overweight for decades, maybe you can handle the whole-foods plant-based diet, otherwise I’d go keto.

  • This is all about harm reduction. E-cigarettes are clearly LESS HARMFUL then smoking cigarettes. Case closed. I quit smoking in 2016 and switched to vaping. My doctor who is not pro-vaping says after an x-ray, I now have the lungs of a non-smoker and my blood pressure is back to normal. She considers me a non-smoker now. I don’t know who in there right mind would want to continue to smoke cigarettes and why make the option of vaping illegal for adults. Now, some drug dealers put vitamin E-acetate into cannabis vapes and people got sick and died according to the CDC. There is NO vitamin E-acetate in e-cigarettes. It’s a completely different thing. As for the flavor e-liquid thing. I would not have quit smoking without flavors. And saying its for kids, then why are they not trying to ban cotton candy flavored vodka. I say get super strict on any marketing to kids and let grown adults have access to this life saving option. How quickly we forget that 400,000 people die from smoking every year in the U.S.

  • Thanks so much for this video!  Today, was day 5 of our juicing journey (hubby and me).  We are getting recipes from a 30 day juice challenge.  Days 1-4 were delicious!  Today’s went down the drain, we just couldn’t drink it.  We are excited, though.  I am very ill from Lyme Disease (but greatly improved from what was the worst of it) and am hoping juicing will take away the fatigue and and heal some of the damage, at least (that I was told could not be healed).

  • i think it ist important that you let the juice or smoothie in your mouth for a few seconds so that the enzymes can start to work and digest the drink. because it is a important step of digestion to chew your food well for a better and easier digestion in the other organs. greetings from germany 😉

  • I just juiced 5 pounds of carrots with a lemon and lots of ginger and turmeric. I feel great but when I eat in the morning, I feel tired and bogged down. What about taking probiotic enzyms with the juice and making the gut happy? BTW do not throw away the fiber from the juice, get a dehydrator and make carrot ginger crackers. yummy.

  • Ha ha Take a juicer to work! Health and safety would have to PAT test it first! I don’t like stored juices but what I do is leave a thermos flask in the fridge overnight to cool it down then I make my juice before work and pop it in the cooled flask and drink it by lunch time.

  • Uhh…it’s disingenuous to generally say that the ketogenic diet is bad…unless he’s referring to the animal based keto diet, but beyond that the keto diet can also be vegan or vegetarian, so maybe the title is misleading. Listen the ketogenic diet is effective…guess what?All diets are effective, the trick is understanding how your body works and how do you plan on lowering your caloric intake. Even if you stuff you face with raw carrots and tree bark from Whole Foods you won’t ever lose weight nor become healthier if you surplus your daily caloric intake and decide to excess the need that you body needs for vitamins and carbs/fat/protein. It’s not easy and it never will be that’s why there’s a whole science field dedicated to health and nutrition. Spend more time learning about metabolic processes in your own body, basic physiology, how to cook, how to build your increments during exercise, and mental compatibility to these regiments. Spend less time trying to validate a dietary superiority, that does nothing but feed into another human made organization that dilutes perception.

  • Sorry your wrong..i juice fruit everyday and eat a bag of oranges a day and i have low blood sugar levels. Juicing sugar is different from soda sugar.

  • Fuhrman is talking about making soup… which I assume is not a raw food? Is that right or not? Cooking food can unlock a lot of nutrition, especially tomatoes. Also making it easier to chew and eat.

  • I’ve never endorsed juicing. When I was growing up, my mother always talked about eating whole foods, eating the skins on potatoes etc. so when I make smoothies, I use the whole fruit/veggie where possible.

  • Every time I run into these videos gets me curious about trying vegan, just to test it out. I’m on Keto for almost 6 months and I feel amazing. Found out Carbs are my real enemies, and also found out there’s vegan keto as well, but it’s almost impossible to follow (lots of avocados and broccoli, and virtually every salad needs to be drizzled with coconut oil to achieve the same levels of fat in regular keto). As I told my vegan friend, whenever someone can come up with a healthy, absolutely no carb, vegan diet, that taste just as good as regular keto, I’m game! No one at the moment has, nor are willing to even try to come up with something without carbs. I’d prefer to someone to give it a shot, instead of trying to convince me that “carbs are good”… no, they are not. Specially for fat people like me.

  • i can get 3 iceberg lettuce heads for a dollar. 2 celery bundles for a buck. 3 large cucumbers for a dollar. a large cantaloupe for 80 cents. a weeks worth of spinach for the bullet for 4 bucks. 10lb bag of carrots for 5 bucks.

  • the celeryfibres still give off flavour and colour after boiling it in water multiple times: dr gundry you should examine what happens with celeryfibres after multiple times boiling: does it release other substances etc etc?

  • Low fiber. Due to gastroporesis. I thought reasonable amts. 6oz twice a day would be good to get some vegetables unable to eat. Just trying now hope this does not cause weight gain. Post esophageal hernia surgery

  • “Keto” diet is based on faith not on science. They eat a lot of crap believing no harm gonna happen. They’re not worried about Fat and cholesterol any more.

  • I’m so sick of hearing about juicing vs blending. What people have to realize is both are excellent to do. Whichever you prefer just go ahead and use that. It’s such a fine line between the two your really splitting hairs when it comes down to it. If you have 1-200lbs to lose then blending is great just because your going to need the fiber to help keep you regular. If you are thinner and just want to lose 10-20lbs then juicing is better. Whatever keeps you away from fast foods/processed foods is the goal.

  • I have a legit question if you all could help me with. I actually understand both plant based side as well keto side so im trying to figure it out myself. What did we eat before in early days of human civilization? im just trying to be rationale here. Did we eat fruits and vegetables or did we hunt and kill animals and eat them to sustain ourselves? Also when i consume sugar and grains i feel as though my teeth become weaker and i notice right away when i consume sugar i can feel it in my mouth which i know isnt stating any facts but just an honest observation.   • Juicing is Primarily for healing purposes. The body has to WORK to digest pulp. When the body is working to digest, it’s power to heal is temporarily put on hold until the digesting is done. Juicing vegetables allows the body to receive a massive amount of nutrients without the WORK of digesting the pulp. However, it is not a good idea to juice all fruits because the sugar content is extremely high without the fiber/pulp. Therefore, fruits should be eaten Whole, with it’s natural fiber/pulp. I Do like to use a little Apple to add “flavor” to my vegetable juice.������

  • Probably after a really bad lifestyle and eating habits fruit juices are bliss by contrast. Other than that, if I drink juice, I’ll get hungry in five minutes and still have to eat something.

  • I don’t know why they are making healthy eating look so black and white. I mean it seems like one must choose between blending or juicing. Likewise, it seems like they are suggesting go vegan or go obese. Eating healthy is not so narrow or hard the trick is not going overboard with any type of diet and maintaining an active as well as healthy habits along with it. It is OK to eat that french fries or burger once in a while because our body needs those calories especially our skin as long as we have our fruits and veggies along with it.

  • First off, so no one misunderstands, I’m vegan….Sorry, but one study will not change my mind about dairy, when he says that dairy does not cause cancer deaths at 8:58 The same reasoning he gave for the eggs not affecting heart attacks at 9:20 because ‘dead people don’t have heart attacks’, could be applied to dairy, only reversed, because when a person is consuming dairy they are no doubt consuming other animal products, even if it’s just eggs such as with vegetarians (and he did say eggs were worse then processed meat at 9:04), which not only cause cancer deaths as he pointed out, but also the mortality rate for meat eaters after a significant heart attack is high, so it could be that the cancer from the other animal meat consumption or their heart gives out before anything else (dairy) can kill them, but that doesn’t mean that the dairy wouldn’t eventually. I have a hard time listening to any doctor that advocates statins and ‘poly drugs’, and has been filmed saying that statins and poly drugs are not just okay, but are good, and has been in a ‘friendly’ debate with other plantbased doctors over statins as seen in another video

  • So boring listening to “this is the best diet” interviews. What vegan and other diets have in common, when they are implemented properly, is not what people are eating, but what they are no longer eating, namely no more sugars, no more degraded processed foods, no more non whole foods, no more antinutrient rich foods. When these are removed, many people can (will) start to recover from their (chronic) diseases! So please stop bashing other diet forms and start sharing the real truth about how nutrition affects health and disease.

  • This is all about harm reduction. E-cigarettes are clearly LESS HARMFUL then smoking cigarettes. Case closed. I quit smoking in 2016 and switched to vaping. My doctor who is not pro-vaping says after an x-ray, I now have the lungs of a non-smoker and my blood pressure is back to normal. She considers me a non-smoker now. I don’t know who in there right mind would want to continue to smoke cigarettes and why make the option of vaping illegal for adults. Now, some drug dealers put vitamin E-acetate into cannabis vapes and people got sick and died according to the CDC. There is NO vitamin E-acetate in e-cigarettes. It’s a completely different thing. As for the flavor e-liquid thing. I would not have quit smoking without flavors. And saying its for kids, then why are they not trying to ban cotton candy flavored vodka. I say get super strict on any marketing to kids and let grown adults have access to this life saving option. How quickly we forget that 400,000 people die from smoking every year in the U.S.

  • Hello from the shores of Canada Dr. Gundry. I recently reversed my Diabetes2 within 8 months of diagnosis. I’ve just turned 60 and can certainly tell you I feel so much better than about a year ago. I was insulin resistant and didn’t even know it until I started drinking water to no end and peeing almost as much as I drank water. Going to my Doctor, I did some tests and on my next meeting I said to him, Doc, I think I’m pre diabetic. He said, Lane, your not pre diabetic, YOU ARE DIABETIC……well, that was the shock for me to get my you know what into gear. I started my research and through many great books I’ve read, I must tell you, you make the most sense when it came to removing certain foods and being “ OK “ with others. My new acronym in life. I,G,E. Not just in food choices but in everything I do.. “ It’s Good Enough”. Since changing my ways of eating and living (exercising and fasting), a few other wonderful things have happened. At 19 years of age I was diagnosed with a high normal blood pressure and the only doctor advice back then was exercise a lot and stay fit. No concerns about diet sugars etc. So I exercised and it worked til I hit the age of 50. I had to be put onto 5 different meds including a statin drug I didn’t want to be on, but pleased and proud to say, I am drug free. Wow! Those crazy lectins, mostly sugars almost killed me. Like my father, he too suffers the same conditions I suffered and this got me thinking not only to my own mortality but his too. I seem to follow my fathers genetics more than my mothers and Unfortunately my father has the markers of Alzheimer’s. At 87 it’s hard to change his ways of eating and my mother also shows of dementia. They are currently in a retirement home that feeds them what I call death food. There condition was getting worse by the months went by. Even though the management knowingly knows of my folks condition, they continue to feed them garbage foods with lots of sugars. And this is supposed to be a top facility. After what I’ve gone through in my health turnaround, I’m helping my folks re learn how to cook and snack. They still need to be in some kind of care but now cooking for themselves. I’ve got my mother cooking a “sort of “ Grundy diet because I can’t convince mom completely on everything…however, what I’ve noticed in the last six months is how much better they both are and how much more alert my dad is. I’ve taught them we don’t need everything all the time. I continue to step in and help them still in every way I can because IGE.
    I hope you can share this story of reconnecting me to my parents. Education is everything…doing it is better. Thanks Doc.

  • Without juicing a lot of people would end up cutting their vegetable and fruit consumption by maybe 75%, and to replace juicing with what? flouride tainted tap water? coke? coffee? What juicer do you three recommend? Have you ever made juice popsicles?

  • I am a constant follower and believer of your teachings Dr. Gundry. But on this one I think you are not exactly right and maybe you would want to do some additional research. I’ve been a vegetable juicer for years (with sometimes a little fruit, green apples I prefer). My blood readings for sugar don’t show what you say, and my health and energy results are amazing. I do take my fiber also during the day, but it’s impossible to take ALL the fiber from for a example 15 big carrotts, which would be a good guess for my daily juicing intake.   • You will NEVER hear of anyone dying from juicing or getting any disease, You will NEVER find it and there’s ALOT this man is not going to tell You NEVER -belief in most-DOCTORS / Do Your own home work on this.   • I think Dr Fuhrman missed the point about the theory of “good, better, best”. Many people, especially when just starting out on a plant based diet, simply WILL NOT drink veggie juices or smoothies. It just won’t happen. Readjusting the taste buds from the standard American diet takes time. John is absolutely right… you have to meet people where they are and help them. This is where “good, better, best” comes in. If that person is NOT going to drink a veggie juice, then it would be GOOD for them to put down the soda pop and drink a fresh fruit juice instead. Is it ideal? No. But it’s better than soda pop! It’s “Good”. Then when that person gets more adjusted to eating more plant based foods, they can start adding a little veggie to their fruit juices.. maybe something mild like cucumbers, celery or baby spinach. That is even BETTER. Eventually….. (key word here: EVENTUALLY)………. a person can drink the BEST option which is veggie juices with maybe a little fruit for taste. Dr Fuhrman must realize most people can’t jump directly from a standard American diet into drinking straight veggie juices. It’s a journey that people WALK… step by step…. to health. John….. you are right on the money! Good, Better, Best!! Slow and steady wins the race! ������

  • This was a disheartening interview for me. I have been plant based for 2 months now.
    I enjoy my beyond burgers and thought they were ok. Bummed to hear him say they were no better than beef. My question is, I thought that it wasn’t the fat that was the problem but rather the animal protein. If that were the case than the beyond with plant based protein vs the beef with all animal protein would be much better? Comments please. I guess I don’t get it.

  • Too bad Loren Lockman against juicing. I agree generally with him but feel the pros greatly outweigh the cons when it comes to juicing a few times of year when cleansing or juice feasting.

  • Hi, I eat quite a lot of chickpea flour, It does’nt seem to affect me. Is it wise to continue eating it?
    Also dried dates, they are very sweet, so I retreat, but are they harmful?

  • I only wish the doctor did a better job of differentiating between Plant Based Whole Food and Veganism. Stick to the science of PBWF and you end the health debate much faster than promoting/defending the ethics of veganism.

    You mentioned that you juice a pepper but then put the juice in the blender why is that??

  • “I can’t imagine anyone hating juicing.”

    Ohh believe me there are ways to accomplish that. For example, certain friends of mine do juice fasts where it’s basically only green juices, and only one green per juice. So the poor people get nothing but carrot juice at one serving. To me, that’s a form of torture, and completely ridiculous considering you can mix up basically whatever you like, and it will always be good and healthy. And also, setting aside one week per year for doing this very special thing, only to then go back to your usual crappy eating habits, is ineffectual, unhealthy, and dissatisfying.

    I mean, to each their own, but there are certainly limits to my imagination…

  • Thanks so much for this video!  Today, was day 5 of our juicing journey (hubby and me).  We are getting recipes from a 30 day juice challenge.  Days 1-4 were delicious!  Today’s went down the drain, we just couldn’t drink it.  We are excited, though.  I am very ill from Lyme Disease (but greatly improved from what was the worst of it) and am hoping juicing will take away the fatigue and and heal some of the damage, at least (that I was told could not be healed).

  • I am on day 6 of a 14 day juice fast. I’ve done 26 days, 1, 10 day, and 2 fives over the past 3 years. It feels good…add some daily meditation and I feel calm, relaxed yet vital. Like Dan said juice is “fuel for the blood” Meditation is fuel for the brain.   • Speaking from personal experience, carrot juice can shrink tumor-like growths. The sugar is absorbed into the cells of the growth but works like a trojan horse bringing nutrients along that shrink the growth.

  • juice vegetables that have no to low sugar like, celery, cucumber, lettuce, and kale. use whole spinach in the bullet with some water then add it with the vegetable juices mentioned above. that way you get the fiber and the vitamin benefits. the end result should be a beautiful darkish green color. it doesn’t taste great but its extremely healthy however if you’re a taste junkee, then go head and add in an apple. i don’t add fruit because i prefer to eat them but once or twice a week i’ll have fruit juice or carrot juice. along with drinking vegetable juice i also eat my veggies in salad form with low fat ranch dressing, steamed,  or stir fried with olive oil. grilled chicken breast, rice, hotsauce and beans as the main dish completes my normal daily diet. i juice like 3-4 times a week and the days i dont juice i take a multi mineral vitamin. i don’t recommend taking vitamins and juicing the same day. however in my opinion it’s okay to eat veggies and fruits with vitamins.

  • Great talk. Juicing is good ; D Look at Jay Kordich Mr. Juiceman himself. My dilemma is taking the time to do it. I go through spurts of juicing. I did do carrot and apple juice everyday for almost a month and noticed a big improvement in my skin and hair. This was a good 15 years ago before I became vegan even so I know it’s good. It’s really about making it easy for people. If all someone has is a blender then that’s the best they can do at the moment. You can even add carrots, beets, etcc to smoothies.

  • I used to juice veggies and fruits before using “slow” speed juicer trying to consume more “nutrients” as recommended by alternative health advocates for a few years but over time I kept on “reasoned” with myself whether this is this “natural”? I finally came to the conclusion that Humans were “designed” and “built” to “grind” foods with teeth speed which is even much much slower than the slowest juicer in the market keeping the natural fibers for “retaining” the ground foods well mixed with the natural “saliva enzymes” before passing down to the stomach (“reactor”) for digestion (chemical reaction). With this kind of self reasoning I concluded Mother Nature is way way better than “present day human science” as the Mother Nature itself is the best science on Earth but humans are still spending huge resources to find the answers which are right in front of us! I suggest just go to the basics, and keep everything simple! is enough to maintain a healthy body, mind and spirit.

  • The first test has been done many times, and it shows how bad cigs are. But it doesn’t really take into account the time between vaping, where you breathe regular air and clear your lungs of the very small amount of moisture on the cotton. People don’t vape for 2 hours straight with no clean air. But that stuff definitely builds up from cigs like the test shows.

    The 2nd testing exposes “2nd hand” vapor to the rats, which I believe is completely different from directly vaping. If that rat was exposed to 2nd hand cig smoke in the same way, I think it would have died very quickly.

    I also echo the other statements that VG and PG are not oil-based liquids. Vaping has been around for 10+ years. If they were oils and caused major problems, we would have heard about it a long time ago. I almost totally dismiss the 2nd test and its procedures.

  • I consume juice twice a day, first thing in the morning and then early evening. I only juice green apples and carrots at this stage (following the Gerson way). Each time I juice one large green apple and 4 medium size carrots.

A Study published in March this year on Dietary Cholesterol and Eggs in the Journal of the American Medical Association analyzed data from 6 of the largest Heart Disease Risk studies done from 1985–2016, and stated the false claim that “Among US adults, higher consumption of dietary cholesterol or eggs was significantly associated with higher risk of incident CVD and all-cause mortality in a dose-response manner. These results should be considered in the development of dietary guidelines and updates.”

  • The diet that works for someone in the short term is not always the best for the long term. Living longer is great, but not if you are sick, overweight, in pain, and are barely able to function. Who wants to live to 90 feeling that way? Keeping tabs on cholesterol, body fat, artery circulation, energy, blood sugar, and other markers will tell you if a diet change is in order.

    Everyone projects their stories of diet success and then think their way is the cure for all. This doctor had high ldl cholesterol so he cuts out cholesterol by going vegan. Yet studies show arterial plaque is largely caused by immune cells due to inflammation in the body. Lectins and other anti nutrients from grains/seeds/and nuts in a vegan diet are extremely high. Lectins are poison to the body (plants produce them to stop themselves being eaten by us!) lectins cause bowel inflammation and hyper immune response. Leaky gut ensues, then immune system goes on hyper alert throughout the body, leaving evidently a trail of immune cells lodged everywhere, including arteries, leading to heart attacks/strokes etc.
    Has he had his hormone levels tested? This doctor, A man of 65 with pronounced balding and very thin hair, who’s been vegan for 15 years, eating soy based foods, which bind up estrogen receptors but don’t ‘act like’ estrogen in the body, so the body slowly doesn’t bother making its own, while testosterone levels remain high, leading to baldness and diminished sex drive. Estrogen is needed in men for libido! Ask all those guys scratching their heads why they have tested high testosterone levels and no sex drive and /or penile function.
    So he stops eating cholesterol and his numbers reduce. What type of eggs was he consuming? There’s a vast difference in nutrition and toxicity of an egg between a caged hen fed GM corn versus a truly organic, roaming free on pasture, dirt, bug, grass eating hen. All studies regarding egg effects on people are from people consuming ‘regular’ eggs.

    I’ve been all diets, no meat for 25yrs (that’s forever!), vegan for 10 yrs, not junk food vegan either. I now add organic dairy from free roaming animals, and eggs. I do better. Sharper brain too, instead of always searching for words like this doctor is suffering with. We are all different in our nutritional needs, there will never be ‘one size fits all’.
    Question is, what should vegans and vegetarians do about all the ‘anti-nutrients’ in grains/seeds and nuts and certain vegetables? seems like nothing on this earth wants to be killed as food. Would you?! Everything is conscious of its life, no matter if us holy humans consider that life to be inferior to our own! Makes me truly question if breatharianism is a state of awareness where the vampiric energy ingestion of another being no longer is needed because these people produce enough pranic energy from their very existence and don’t rely on others. Plants only consume minimal nutrition to produce meters and meters of stems, leaves, fruits and seeds….just from a tiny bit of soil.
    We’re way too focused on physical biology without considering the mechanisms which underlie the materialisation of matter. When we understand those precepts more fully, then our physical body imbalances will be greater understood to come from a different root cause than just merely food. The diet of our entire life awareness, not just the food we eat, affects our physical bodies. One day it will be known better.

  • Ha ha Take a juicer to work! Health and safety would have to PAT test it first! I don’t like stored juices but what I do is leave a thermos flask in the fridge overnight to cool it down then I make my juice before work and pop it in the cooled flask and drink it by lunch time.

  • i eat meet and eggs and deary (but not doing the keto or anything, i eat lots of barley and oats too) and the only problem in my tests was that my cholesterol was way down than the norm, i think it wqas 114 and is should have bean from 150 200 so maby some people can eat cholesterol without crating problems right?

  • Here’s what I can tell you about scientists. Almost all of their researchis paid for by special-interest groups. People who want something pushed through or don’t want something pushed through. And they manipulate the data to show just what the people paying for their research and there grants want to show. Just look up sex changing frogs and you’ll see exactly how it goes down.

  • Coronary artery disease is caused by obesity. Keto and carnivore diets will cause weight loss and help maintain a healthy weight with ease. This will reduce stress hormones, which also play a factor in heart disease. So giving up smoking and alcohol will reduce heart disease risks as well but I would reccomend all of the above.

  • This was a disheartening interview for me. I have been plant based for 2 months now.
    I enjoy my beyond burgers and thought they were ok. Bummed to hear him say they were no better than beef. My question is, I thought that it wasn’t the fat that was the problem but rather the animal protein. If that were the case than the beyond with plant based protein vs the beef with all animal protein would be much better? Comments please. I guess I don’t get it.

  • Low fiber. Due to gastroporesis. I thought reasonable amts. 6oz twice a day would be good to get some vegetables unable to eat. Just trying now hope this does not cause weight gain. Post esophageal hernia surgery

  • Everything in life will kill you. People who go vegan and start eating fried vegan foods, are just at risk. If you go keto it doesn’t mean you eat bacon daily.

  • Good advices. I am in my third day of my 60 days feast ( I hope) and I just made a juice out of cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot and another two greens…and I barely drank it, it tasted so bad…thanks for advices. I have to be inventive from now on because I really want to finish my “feast”….

  • John, would you address storing juices/produce?  Being a gardener near the Canadian border, I grow over 100 fruit and nut trees and have a large veggie garden.  Thus I’m not going to buy, let’s say apples, in the winter, but use my own as I squeeze and freeze gallons of apple cider each fall.  I store what apples I can, but the berries, etc. get put into the freezer.  Pears, plums, etc. get dried.  Economically, it just makes sense for us gardeners to do it that way.  It’s one thing to grow it, but how are you going to store it so it lasts the entire year in a cold region—that’s what I’d like to see you address.  Thanks.

  • Juicing is Primarily for healing purposes. The body has to WORK to digest pulp. When the body is working to digest, it’s power to heal is temporarily put on hold until the digesting is done. Juicing vegetables allows the body to receive a massive amount of nutrients without the WORK of digesting the pulp. However, it is not a good idea to juice all fruits because the sugar content is extremely high without the fiber/pulp. Therefore, fruits should be eaten Whole, with it’s natural fiber/pulp. I Do like to use a little Apple to add “flavor” to my vegetable juice.������

  • I don’t know why they are making healthy eating look so black and white. I mean it seems like one must choose between blending or juicing. Likewise, it seems like they are suggesting go vegan or go obese. Eating healthy is not so narrow or hard the trick is not going overboard with any type of diet and maintaining an active as well as healthy habits along with it. It is OK to eat that french fries or burger once in a while because our body needs those calories especially our skin as long as we have our fruits and veggies along with it.

  • Every time I run into these videos gets me curious about trying vegan, just to test it out. I’m on Keto for almost 6 months and I feel amazing. Found out Carbs are my real enemies, and also found out there’s vegan keto as well, but it’s almost impossible to follow (lots of avocados and broccoli, and virtually every salad needs to be drizzled with coconut oil to achieve the same levels of fat in regular keto). As I told my vegan friend, whenever someone can come up with a healthy, absolutely no carb, vegan diet, that taste just as good as regular keto, I’m game! No one at the moment has, nor are willing to even try to come up with something without carbs. I’d prefer to someone to give it a shot, instead of trying to convince me that “carbs are good”… no, they are not. Specially for fat people like me.

  • More than 10 years I have a smoothie every midday after collecting wild + garden greens + little fruits only + a little water. But I don’t drink it, I eat/spoon + chew it with nuts on top. What do most people do when they have a juice? Do they chew it???
