Dried fruit tends to get a bad rap for being too high in sugar. However, it can be a great way to boost nutritional, antioxidant and fiber intake and serve as a healthy portable snack option. In fact, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES ), which examined data from 2001–2012, found the consumption of raisins and raisin-containing foods was associated with better nutrient. Let’s face it: Some canned vegetables are so very different from their fresh forms (think: asparagus and beets!) that plenty of kids grow up swearing off otherwise delicious foods forever. So it’s no surprise that canned foods have a bad rap.
But the bad reputation goes beyond just the food that comes inside those cans. Dried fruit can also be enjoyed as a replacement for calorie-rich, nutrient-poor desserts such as baked goods or candy. Dried fruits contain virtually the same nutrients as their fresh counterparts, so most are a good sources of vitamins A, C, potassium, fiber and folate.
They are also antioxidant powerhouses. Dried fruit gets a lot of bad rap, mainly because you’ll find concentrated levels of sugar and higher calories in most types of dried fruit. There’s no denying it, dried fruit have higher quantities of sugar than the fresh fruit from which they’re derived, and that applies to our dried mangoes too. How can I flatten my tummy overnight?

Even though whole fruits are very healthy for most people, avoid binging on fruit juice or dried fruit. Many of the fruit juices on the market aren’t even “real” fruit juices. They consist of water.
