New research shows eating a bigger breakfast could help increase calorie burn and prevent overeating. People who eat a big breakfast burn twice as many calories compared with those who eat a larger dinner, according to a new study. Over the course. Men who ate a large breakfast, but a small dinner, burned 2.5 times as many calories after eating their meal, compared with when they ate a small breakfast and a large dinner, according to a new, small study, published Wednesday in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Silver Surfers reports that Scientists have found that people who eat a big breakfast compared with a large dinner may burn twice as many calories throughout the day.

The research – published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism – looked into diet-induced thermogenesis (DIT), which is the process our body goes through. Published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the study showed that healthy volunteers who ate a large breakfast and a small dinner had over twice as much “diet-induced thermogenesis” than those who had a small breakfast and large dinner. Eating a big breakfast rather than a large dinner may prevent obesity and high blood sugar, according to new research published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. “Our results show that a meal eaten for breakfast, regardless of the amount of calories it contains, creates twice as high diet-induced thermogenesis as the same meal consumed for dinner,”. Research finds that eating more at breakfast time instead of lunch and dinner could burn twice as many calories and help to prevent obesity. New research published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism reveals that eating a big breakfast rather than a large lunch and dinner may prevent obesity, obesity related diseases and high blood sugar levels. The group who ate the higher calorie breakfast saw an increase in that thermal effect of food. Again, it’s important to note that the thermal effect.

Breakfast has long been deemed the most important meal of the day, but new research says it might have an even bigger role in our overall health than previously thought. According to a new study from the Endocrine Society, people who eat a big breakfast burn twice as many calories compared with those who eat a larger dinner.

  • The reason you body stops losing weight if you run everyday for two week you body will adapt to that and begin to conserve its energy for the one activity this is why you do different workouts different days of the week and you have things like cheat days to throw you body off more

  • I eat very very little throughout the day. I don’t tell people this because they think it’s an eating disorder, but I listen to my body. Most of my hunger is emotional, if I can recognize the emotion, whether it’s anxiety or sadness or happiness, I can consider if food is really the best answer to my solution. Most of the time it’s not and I just go on with my day. I’ve gone from a BMI of 35 to 22 in less than a year.

  • 4:20 yeah basically stop subsidizing meat and dairy, and instead subsidize fruits, veggies, legumes, and grains! Also, stop being lobbied by these industries that make their way into public schools and the food pyramid (milk served with school lunch)

  • This makes no sense. If you exercise and you cut down on food, you will lose weight. OF COURSE you won’t lose anything fast if you don’t change your diet!

  • I eat a big breakfast, but not 69% of my daily calories. I run fasted first thing in the morning, then strength train 4-8 hours later, so I tend to eat about 33% of my daily calories at breakfast, then split the remaining 67% between lunch, dinner, & healthy snacks.

  • This model comprises of old outdated science. The reality is that the brain, as an organ, users more calories than any other organ in the body. At no point does this model address that you’re resting metabolic rate will change dramatically depending on your mindset and your mental health, not to mention your sleep cycles.

  • This totally makes sense to me! I keep a 12 hour window (minimum) between my last meal of the day and my first meal the next day.   • As a person from Africa. I have known rural Africans. If they really think that overeating is the problem they didn’t spend enough time. Because they did not con6that the more activity y9u do the more your muscles use less energy to do the same about of work.   • Processed foods are the problem. They need with the parts of your body that determine you’re full. Eating ng non process foods will fill you up and happen to put you in a calorie deficit.

  • Still holding antiquated views on nutrition. Carbs make people hungry and they consume more than that is required for thier body and hence the obesity epidemic. Protiens have higher satiety so you dont get the urge to eat consequently your calorie consumption goes down resulting in sustainable weight loss

  • I’m reducing body fat by being in a calorie deficit and just eating 800-1000 calories a day. Wonderful results so far with working out Monday, Wednesday and fridays with hard strength training. I’m getting more defined but I’m not sure weather it’s from body fat being loss or if the lifting if is beneficial and giving me a shredded look. Hard to explain but I don’t no if the muscles I’m seeing is from fat being loss and that’s how they always looked or if lifting weights is making a difference. The scaled has not moved up as well since I started doing this on Presidents’ Day. Always a consistent weight drop. 278 to now 229 so far. Looking great, just want the rest of my body fat or go so it can look fat instead of that little overlap in the front

A diet that evinces being healthy both physically and mentally. A diet which has a great satiety value not only for my stomach as well as for my mental health too.     I would like to say I really enjoy watching your videos. They have helped me on a mental during my weight loss. I hit 270 again I was like not again so I am 174.8. I am 5’8 and a farm girl. I am not a competitor. Just someone trying to live healthy.
    I was wondering what are your thoughts. It dosen’t matter what health person videos I watch. They always are eatting cod or salmon. I understand why. Good fats and protein. I can’t stand the shit. I have tried many marinating sauces even over night. It’s still nasty to me.
    I do take krill capsules but I dont no if I am taking enough and is there anything else I could be taking since I dont eat fish.

  • If you want to lose weight and keep the weight off, I highly suggest trying a whole food plant based diet. I’ve been eating like this for 7 years, and my BMI stays around 18.5 with no decrease in volume/calories, and no extra efforts to exercise. I do however practice yoga, solely because I enjoy it.

  • Answer to your question is healthy eating according to me is what I have eaten my childhood but in small quantities..When to stop eating when my tummy says this much is enough! Don’t overload our tummy with food.Frequent meals are necessary. WHOLESOME HOME COOKED FOOD IS ALWAYS BEST.And the fist which you mentioned.Carbs,fat,protein,vitamins and minerals should be there in every meal.❤Lastly eat mindfully.

  • Guys no need to listen to this video. It may be good for research purposes but this will only confuse and overcomplicate simple things. Just exercise consistently, and manage a proper balanced diet. Do harder variations when one type of exercise gets easy. And just have a little faith.   • I dont even have to watch the video to agree, but debate. If you’re over weight, then you can lose weight by just eating less. However, exercise promotes better health, increases muscle, and depending on cardio increases endurance. I know this because I’ve lost and gained weight many times, but just because I was 190 pounds doesnt mean I was as healthy as I was at 205. Exercise is needed to maintain a healthy life, or you can not eat and lose more weight.

  • If you want to lose weight and keep the weight off, I highly suggest trying a whole food plant based diet. I’ve been eating like this for 7 years, and my BMI stays around 18.5 with no decrease in volume/calories, and no extra efforts to exercise. I do however practice yoga, solely because I enjoy it.

    We can eat with seasonal preferences..that way one can get the best results..

  • I know for me I prefer to have a huge breakfast. Most of the time I’m up early and training so after I’m done I am starving. My job also requires me to be on my feet and sometimes I don’t get a break for a snack in between breakfast and lunch. So if I have a huge breakfast I feel satisfied until lunch and I don’t snack as much during the day.

  • I eat very very little throughout the day. I don’t tell people this because they think it’s an eating disorder, but I listen to my body. Most of my hunger is emotional, if I can recognize the emotion, whether it’s anxiety or sadness or happiness, I can consider if food is really the best answer to my solution.   • It`d have been much better if I heard bout this specific diet guide, I would have shed that 14 lbs years back. I did not switch my very own diet weight by any means or work out.   • I like to do alternate day fasting. Last time I eat would be at night, fast the entire next day, and break my fast the following morning. I like to eat lean protein first, wait 1.5 hours and eat a big breakfast. Don’t eat until closer evening(suppertime). I may have a small snack before supper just so I don’t splurge at suppertime. Have big supper, not as big as my breakfast though, and have a snack later that night….and repeat. I also may throw in 500 calories on my fasting day, but not all the time. Works GREAT for me personally!!!!!

  • Guys no need to listen to this video. It may be good for research purposes but this will only confuse and overcomplicate simple things. Just exercise consistently, and manage a proper balanced diet. Do harder variations when one type of exercise gets easy. And just have a little faith.   • Thanks for the video! While I agree with the balanced diet suggestion, I disagree that ‘balance’ includes carbs. Several studies repeatedly show that there are essential amino acids(protein) and essential fatty acids(fats) but there are no essential carbs for human survival. The problem I see with carbs is, just the way you mentioned that having long gaps in between meals makes you crave and eat more, the same way eating refined carbs(which is what most of the carbs we easily find these days are) spikes insulin and makes you feel hungry sooner than later and results in overall increased number of calories consumed per day. So, reducing carbs(read ‘simple sugary carbs’) helps us control our hunger and food intake much better. While I agree there are good carbs(the unrefined rices/wheat, veggies etc), basically fiber rich ones, most of the easily available carbs in the market are bad carbs and if we dont consciously tell ourselves to reduce(or if possible even eliminate) carbs, we wont get that easy control on weight. I have lost 50kgs weight in 2yrs, so this is just my two cents from my own personal experience.

  • I’m reducing body fat by being in a calorie deficit and just eating 800-1000 calories a day. Wonderful results so far with working out Monday, Wednesday and fridays with hard strength training. I’m getting more defined but I’m not sure weather it’s from body fat being loss or if the lifting if is beneficial and giving me a shredded look. Hard to explain but I don’t no if the muscles I’m seeing is from fat being loss and that’s how they always looked or if lifting weights is making a difference. The scaled has not moved up as well since I started doing this on Presidents’ Day. Always a consistent weight drop. 278 to now 229 so far.   • Nice vid! I think lunch is the biggest meal for vast majority of people because of cultural reasons. BUT, as you said, everybody has to find what works or suits best when talking about dieting or finding body composition/strengh/etc balance.

If you really want to learn about how to become and remain healthy, please start watching videos of people like Thomas Delauer, Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Oz, Jason Fung, Dr. David Sinclair. Sure Pooja is beautiful but that does not mean she delivers correct information. Please stop following people blindly.   • This model comprises of old outdated science. The reality is that the brain, as an organ, users more calories than any other organ in the body. At no point does this model address that you’re resting metabolic rate will change dramatically depending on your mindset and your mental health, not to mention your sleep cycles.

Don’t overload our tummy with food.Frequent meals are necessary.   • Hi Paul, I would like to ask let say u workout in the morning. And u will take ur meal after workout. Is it important to have your meal to wait for an hour after workout or cardio? Let say I workout or do cardio at 8 to 9am. And I have my first meal at 10am. Is that work to burn fat in that hour before I have my meal?

  • I dont even have to watch the video to agree, but debate. If you’re over weight, then you can lose weight by just eating less. However, exercise promotes better health, increases muscle, and depending on cardio increases endurance. I know this because I’ve lost and gained weight many times, but just because I was 190 pounds doesnt mean I was as healthy as I was at 205. Exercise is needed to maintain a healthy life, or you can not eat and lose more weight.

  • Come here for information. I found 1800 kkal per day doubtful. I have been losing weight for a 2 years now from 103.3 kg. For now my weight 89 kg, i.m 182cm tall and eating 2620 kkal per day. I have sitting job, and train for 10 min per day (one day doing Heria’s abs set, and other day chest set). And still losing weight.

    I would like to say I really enjoy watching your videos. They have helped me on a mental during my weight loss. I hit 270 again I was like not again so I am 174.8. I am 5’8 and a farm girl. I am not a competitor. Just someone trying to live healthy.
    I was wondering what are your thoughts. It dosen’t matter what health person videos I watch. They always are eatting cod or salmon. I understand why. Good fats and protein. I can’t stand the shit. I have tried many marinating sauces even over night. It’s still nasty to me.
    I do take krill capsules but I dont no if I am taking enough and is there anything else I could be taking since I dont eat fish.

  • Thanks for the video! While I agree with the balanced diet suggestion, I disagree that ‘balance’ includes carbs. Several studies repeatedly show that there are essential amino acids(protein) and essential fatty acids(fats) but there are no essential carbs for human survival. The problem I see with carbs is, just the way you mentioned that having long gaps in between meals makes you crave and eat more, the same way eating refined carbs(which is what most of the carbs we easily find these days are) spikes insulin and makes you feel hungry sooner than later and results in overall increased number of calories consumed per day. So, reducing carbs(read ‘simple sugary carbs’) helps us control our hunger and food intake much better. While I agree there are good carbs(the unrefined rices/wheat, veggies etc), basically fiber rich ones, most of the easily available carbs in the market are bad carbs and if we dont consciously tell ourselves to reduce(or if possible even eliminate) carbs, we wont get that easy control on weight. I have lost 50kgs weight in 2yrs, so this is just my two cents from my own personal experience.

  • I eat all day every 2-3 hours, not because I’m a bro, but because I’ve always worked like that. I tried intermittent fasting for two year straight, I struggled my way up to 14h fast max, and one day I said enough and got back to my natural snacker schedule. I’m not hungry all the time anymore, no hunger pains, no hangriness, no body composition change. Only my bodyweight average went up because of the food volume in my system.

  • This totally makes sense to me! I keep a 12 hour window (minimum) between my last meal of the day and my first meal the next day. And I love a bigger breakfast to keep me nice and full so I don’t want a ton of food through out the day or crave things. Each meal has at least 20g of protein and some carbs and fats. I also try to keep my meals around the same times per day so I have those “fasting” windows between meals! Snacking makes me hungrier! That’s what works for me!

  • My first meal is around 1130-12 and about 650-750 calories. My last meal is around 530-6 and about 650-750 calories. With those calories my added cardio and daily job equals mad shreds for me lol…

  • I like to do alternate day fasting. Last time I eat would be at night, fast the entire next day, and break my fast the following morning. I like to eat lean protein first, wait 1.5 hours and eat a big breakfast. Don’t eat until closer evening(suppertime). I may have a small snack before supper just so I don’t splurge at suppertime. Have big supper, not as big as my breakfast though, and have a snack later that night….and repeat. I also may throw in 500 calories on my fasting day, but not all the time. Works GREAT for me personally!!!!!

  • I know for me I prefer to have a huge breakfast. Most of the time I’m up early and training so after I’m done I am starving. My job also requires me to be on my feet and sometimes I don’t get a break for a snack in between breakfast and lunch.   • Healthy eating is not only restricted to food..but it is somehow related to the fulfilling physical mental and social acivities..one must have everything in moderation to get great results..even if he/she dosent works out more often..
    We can eat with seasonal preferences..that way one can get the best results..
    For an eg: its winter….instead of having regular wheat chappatis one can have makka roti..or bajra roti….which is consumed less in amount as compared to wheat and also gives u more health benefits..
    Substituting sugar with jaggery in wintee is the best way to deal with the excess cold and on the other it can also be consumed by diabetic patients as it dosent hype one’s sugar level instantly..

    Basicallu i am trying to say..Eating everything in moderation..and according to seasonals preferneces one can maintain healthy lifestyle without putting too much efforts on their body..
