  • Fit Tuber I must disagree on the point of tea being introduced to India in 1800s. In Assam, tea had been consumed long long before that by the Singpo people .

  • IMPORTANT.. NEVER COOK THE RAW HONEY! Please doc add a note to this vid so that people do not cook the honey. Add it later, when the tea is NOT boiling hot. Honey turns toxic when heated and especially if boiled! omg. Otherwise GREAT VID AND INFO. Thanks.

  • I LOVE dates, but stopped eating them due to the high amount of carbs/sugar in such a small serving. As for the rest… Definitely delicious! I will try this recipe.

  • I am a tea lover and am very grateful to you for your wonderful video. I have learned something new. I would love to find this wonderful tea and brew it as capably as you do. Also, your breakfast has given me so much to think about as I plan my family meal.

  • Dr. Axe, you have a large audience so please educate them correctly. Chai is an Indian (Hindi) word for tea made with milk and other spices. Latte describes the use of steamed milk in a beverage so you do not need to add Tea or Latte Chai says it all.

  • Wonderful recipe Dr. Axe, however, what are your thoughts regarding cholesterol (HDL, LDL and Triglycerides) in conjunction with coconut milk. AHA is still on the fence with this and the coconut craze.

  • I am watching your Turkish cooking tube with interest. I just noticed how similar it is to our Mughal food which was bought by Turks from Central Asia, when they conquered Hindustan ( Present day India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Burma). In Pakistan, you will find many Mughals with their ancestors going back to Central Asia. The dishes like koftay, kababs, pilao, beryani and many sweet dishes have the origin in centrsl Asia.
Pls keep it up and include recipes from different region of Turkey.

After watching your video I had to search their labels for ingredient list and found that they use ADDED FLAVOURS, as a beverage Industry veteran I can tell you that the so called Natural Flavours are made by the same companies that make the chemical loaded carcinogenic food additives, colours & flavours used by companies like Coke & Pepsi and need to be only 3% natural ingredients to classify as natural flavours. Also they have used ingredients like lemon juice concentrate etc.. which could be there to mask adding ascorbic or citric acid without which it will be impossible to have a shelf stable product with a 36 month shelf life.

    here are some general rules,
1.Never soak tea bags over night because the tea will become bitter,
    2. use loose leaf tea, i use the ones from Ceylon aka Sri Lanka.
    3. crush spices before use. using powdered is way better
    4. if using fresh ginger it should be grated to very fine pieces.
tea usually takes 15 minutes to make.
and Technique Definitely matters trust me.

  • Isn’t anyone going to talk about TEA? Well. This was very nice and informative. Locally (in Florida, USA) it’s possible to buy a few brands of Turkish tea and coffee, and of course many sweets. The tea has improved in recent years in terms of packaging, so the condition is much better when you get it, it’s more fragrant. Generally we get tea from China, India, sometimes from Japan and now Vietnam. The big difference I see today is that most tea is brewed for a short time, maybe one or two minutes. So now I see that the Turkish tea wants to be infused for much longer. This makes sense, especially if you’re going to use a Samovar! I have a few Turkish Samovars by the way. Unfortunately I don’t have that kind of life! I need company that wants to sit around and drink tea for an hour or two. It happens occasionally, and sometimes I just do it myself, on a cold day. Anyway, I’m going to try this advice right away.
