Ingredients:. 1 peeled, frozen banana. 1 cup of almond milk (or, use any kind of dairy or non-dairy ‘creamy’ beverage i.e. soy milk, rice milk or coconut milk). 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 teaspoon maple syrup. 1 tablespoon cocoa powder. and I added in (for good health). 1 tablespoon ground flax. 1 tablespoon chia seeds. 1 tablespoon hemp seeds. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder. 3 vitamin D Drops. You can add some ice cubes if you want it thicker and frothier, or use a little less than a cup of milk for a thicker drink, your call.. Blend for a minute or two, and enjoy! It reminds me a little of a Wendy’s Frosty or a Starbucks Frappucino. Either way, it’s amazing and I think you are going to love it!

Just made this! Used 1 frozen banana, 1 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/4 cup rolled oats, and some ice cubes. Delicious and filling! No sweetener necessary. Came out to 232 calories. Thanks for the recipe

Why add sugar? Chocolate and ice cream have sugar. Plus Bananas are naturally sweet. Though I think this was milk shake(coz of the milk quantity), banana chocolate flavour.

I do a a cup of almond milk a tablespoon of cacao nibs that I have crushed a table spoon of either almond butter or for a law cal option pb2 then a hand full of spinach a table spoon of pysillum husk and a table spoon of chia seeds and a frozen banana and a scoop of grass fed gelatin powder id it needs to be a little sweeter I so a couple drops of stevia drops: ) full of easy to digest healthy ingrediants really good for any one if they have suffered from an eating disorder or someone who is just trying to heal or take care of their body.

Why almond milk?? I assume it’s not a taste thing but a health thing, we can sub with actual milk, that will also taste better, right? Thanks for recipes!

Do you use ground chia/hemp seeds when you put into blender, or do you just use the whole seeds and let the Blendtec blender grind them? I generally use ground flax seeds before I add to the mixture, but I’m not sure about chia/hemp seeds. I’ve been tossing them in whole and my blender doesn’t do a great job and the texture of the final smoothie has bits of whole seeds which makes it a little gritty. Not sure if a better blender will take care of that or not. But I ordered my Blendtec and should be here in a week since my blender is on its last leg!

Just made this! Used 1 frozen banana, 1 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/4 cup rolled oats, and some ice cubes. Delicious and filling! No sweetener necessary. Came out to 232 calories. Thanks for the recipe

Ok that was a great video. For those of you who think sugar is too much just dont add sugar or do. It is your personal choice. For me this is a great video that you can enjoy everyday without guilt:)
I do a a cup of almond milk a tablespoon of cacao nibs that I have crushed a table spoon of either almond butter or for a law cal option pb2 then a hand full of spinach a table spoon of pysillum husk and a table spoon of chia seeds and a frozen banana and a scoop of grass fed gelatin powder id it needs to be a little sweeter I so a couple drops of stevia drops: ) full of easy to digest healthy ingrediants really good for any one if they have suffered from an eating disorder or someone who is just trying to heal or take care of their body.

Took a while to find a fantastic nut butter shake vid since not many come up. Great vid!:) Once I feel like going back to a cleanse type of smoothie/shake I will probably then go for an avocado shake. Perfect.

It tastes like dessert because it may as well be it has enough sugar/carbs in the grains/bananas to raise your blood glucose considerably.

I do a a cup of almond milk a tablespoon of cacao nibs that I have crushed a table spoon of either almond butter or for a law cal option pb2 then a hand full of spinach a table spoon of pysillum husk and a table spoon of chia seeds and a frozen banana and a scoop of grass fed gelatin powder id it needs to be a little sweeter I so a couple drops of stevia drops: ) full of easy to digest healthy ingrediants really good for any one if they have suffered from an eating disorder or someone who is just trying to heal or take care of their body.

more like a milkshake issn it? in my view a chocolate banana smoothie is bananas and cacao or chocolate whatever but nothing but that. i just use 13 bananas and three four big spoones cacao and a little bit water
Why add sugar? Chocolate and ice cream have sugar. Plus Bananas are naturally sweet.
Though I think this was milk shake(coz of the milk quantity), banana chocolate flavour.

This is my favorite smoothie, i make it everyday. You could also try peanut butter in it to make it more creamy and more protein. Also, if the bananas are on the little bit more ripe side, you could try and skip the sweetner:)
It tastes like dessert because it may as well be it has enough sugar/carbs in the grains/bananas to raise your blood glucose considerably.

The first time i did it I found it way too sweet. The second I put banana yogurt instead of ice cream and didn’t add any sugar and it tasted much better.
I have to admit I haven’t tried any of your smoothies but they look so enjoyable to drink and I bet would make my liquid lunch something to look forward to

Melissa! I love all your videos and am enjoying the smoothie ones too. Thank you to you, and your husband for all the time and energy you put into them. One suggestion: Get some glass straws! (Assuming you don’t have any yet.) Glass straws are awesome for so many reasons.

Trying the coffee and banana but with cappuccino powder instead of mocha. These recipes are definitely, for chocolate lovers and a replacement for that chocolate crave we women often get.

Once I feel like going back to a cleanse type of smoothie/shake I will probably then go for an avocado shake. Perfect.
