Lower-calorie ice creams and frozen yogurts have been around for years, but the newer crop of treats boasts a more drastic reduction in calories, fat, and sugars. In fact, some “healthier” ice. Yes, ice cream can be part of a healthy lifestyle. Eating ice cream in moderation, if you enjoy and desire it, indicates a healthy relationship with food and gives you a lot more brain space to focus on other important things in your life. Ice cream is a sweet and refreshing treat.

However, it’s high in sugar, calories, and possibly additives and artificial ingredients. Thus, you should read labels carefully if you want a more. Although ice cream can be healthy, you shouldn’t indulge too much. Going overboard can lead to side effects like obesity, high blood sugar, and brain fogginess. So feel free to eat your ice crea.

All that milk, cream and sugar makes ice cream a delicious treat, but it’s so good that you can easily end up eating more than just one serving. While typical ingredients in ice-cream consist of milk, sugar, milk fat and flavourings, the ‘healthy’ versions cut down fat content by adding skimmed milk, erythritol (sweeteners) instead of sugar, milk protein concentrate instead of cream, and glycerin. Ice cream contains calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which help maintain healthy blood pressure levels.

As we all know, calcium is also essential to strong teeth and bones. A half-cup serving of ice cream also boasts 5 g to 9 g of protein, which can. Irritation of eyes: Homemade ice cream may be healthy and tasty for your whole family members as you are preparing with healthy components. But ice cream made from any company who has no permission or a company may use different flammable liquid like butraldehyde which enhances enticing flavor of ice cream. Ice cream is also a dietary source of two important minerals.

It is particularly rich in calcium and phosphorus, with about 10 percent of the adult recommended dietary allowance, or RDA, of these. Lower-calorie ice creams and frozen yogurts have been around for years, but the newer crop of treats boasts a more drastic reduction in calories, fat, and sugars. In fact, some “healthier” ice.

Of course, if you eat twice as much fat-free ice cream as regular ice cream, and stop exercising, and start eating more cookies (because you think you can take on more cookie calories because you are taking in fewer ice cream calories per serving), then you’re not going to lose weight.

Like saturated fat and sodium, excessive intake of added sugars may increase the risk of obesity, heart disease, and hypertension.15 Healthy meals can occasionally include moderate amounts of a child’s favorite food, such as ice cream, even if it is high in saturated fat and added sugars.

Ice creams and ice pops that are vegan are often infinitely worse for you, though, thanks to coconut milk and added sugar, so be sure to look for items that (a) do not have sugar as the first ingredient, and (b) are vegetable-or fruit-based and in a form that you can chew.

For example, when you choose fat— free ice cream, you may wind up eating more because it’s less satisfying—and getting more calories than if you’d eaten a bit of regular ice cream.

  • Also, ice cream has been replaced with frozen milk foam, and if we boycott, maybe real ice cream will come back. Tillamook, Umpqua, Blue Bunny, Haagen Daaz, etc… have all made their ice cream super foamy… The only ice creams that appear to have stayed the same is Ben and Jerrie’s, Sorbets(not ice cream), and Gelato(Not really ice cream)… and of course, ice cream from shops like cold stone, and mom and pop home-made style shops… Sad times for ice cream.

  • Always enjoy your videos and your philosophy around food and nutrition! Can you make a video for people who are trying to recover from restrictive dieting or have grown up with a “clean your plate off” mindset and would like to know how to take in their hunger and fullness cues? Tips for how to intuitively eat if you’ve never really done it before?

  • Hoo and the new law enforcement officers are not allowed in their country but they are also a good idea if you have an article that you can do to make

  • very well spoken! i love listening to youtubers talk when they actually know, understand and care about what they are talking about and the impact it could have on viewers. I can’t believe you don’t get more views!! Keep up the awesome videos, this dietetics student appreciates your passion!

  • I love Kuwait you can get the best, but the most popular games, and I have to do it, but the best. If the reader. I have to pay a fee 87656fjhk7r222pgjbkhbhhhhkjfjcigiupp

  • I think you just looked into this too much into this… it’s really not that serious. I eat the serving size (not the whole pint) and it is delicious and definitely satisfies my ice cream craving. End of story.

  • Halo top is how I diet, while still eating what I want to eat. If I person likes ice cream, tracks their calories and is able to fit it in without going over isnt that a helpful tool?

  • I love ur recepies pls make more healthy salty treats, and I wanted to know that can I use regular milk instead of almond milk and instead of maple syrup can I use honey or brown sugar if yes then kindly please give me the amount of these items?

  • I eat halo top cause my girl is lactose intolerant. I think is awesome they put the whole calories on it. Other ice cream put per serving which is 4 and ppl eat the whole thing thinking in some crazy way they only ate one serving lol

  • Sorry but your critique is incredibly weak and is solely focused on Halo Top’s messaging as opposed to any credible “dietitian” or even nutritional critique. It really is one problem you have with their branding as opposed to problems you have with Halo Top ice cream

  • Well today is my first time buying the halo top and girl it’s very very sweet it doesn’t really taste good next time I’m sticking to my Regular ice cream

Don’t feel guilty just watch what you eat try working out enjoy your regular ice cream just don’t OD

  • You (your logic) need therapy coming from a clinical registered dietitian. This is a biased projection of your thoughts. ‘A problem’…’another problem’ problem in consuming any product dear;)

  • Omg that lock soo gooooood

How else whants to jost grab the food out of the screne ok only me ok✌️thats fine✌️

  • so i basically clicked on this video looking to see if there was actual nutritional problems with halo top only to find that your just gonna ramble on about psychology and restricting, instead of any actual problems with the ice cream. if it’s a lower calorie option and allows people to feel less guilty while allowing themselves to indulge a bit more, then i don’t see the problem. sounds like ur problem is with dieting and restricting, not the actual ice cream….

  • I don’t have a blender. Does anyone know if a nutri bullet would whip it up the same way? Lots of over ripe bananas that need to be used!!

  • I disagree with this logic. I don’t think Halo Top is a diet Ice Cream but more so a lesser evil in terms of calories. I don’t see the harm in showing the customer the calorie count. It’s better for someone with no self control to eat a 300 calorie pint of Halo Top ice cream than a 1200 calorie Ben and Jerry’s pint of ice cream. I don’t get your point, unless someone is disgusted by Halo Top and is only forcing themselves to like it due to the calorie then I don’t see the problem.

  • The first problem I see, is that you call it a “diet” ice cream. It is just a better alternative to eat maybe once a week. And when I eat it, I do not eat the whole pint.

  • Your voice is annoying and your content is trash. 320 calories is nothing, ice cream is high calories, high calories makes you fat. People like ice cream and don’t want to be fat. You’re a sad little idiot with Mickey Mouse qualification shouting out about their evil marketing tactic of advertising that they do indeed contain only 320 calories. How dare they.

  • I not a big fan of banana (I like it, but not very much), though I use it in smoothies without any problem. Still, I wonder if avocado could make its way into an ice cream. It’s less fragrant than bananas. Of course it needs more sugar. I like that I can do a full avocado including its pit, and my Oster pro 1200, pulverize it in a smooth puree. I have to try…

  • Calorie count for an entire packsge is a great idea. Huge number on the front of every bag of chips..candy bar.. and ice cream. Bet if Ben & Jerry’s had 1200 on the front people would steer clear but unfortunately they won’t even tell us the % of sugar we should eat in a day because sugar is what is making us fat and companies don’t want the consumers to know a can of coke has more sugar than we should be consuming per day and they put sugar into everything.

  • I think putting too much emphasis on Halo Top and other companies who are simply just marketing their products well by showing the low calorie count, rather than putting the responsibility on yourselves is the problem.

  • I just pressed like-button Because in this video, you look really exhausted and i clearly can see your effort on completing it

  • I have sensitive teeth too. I have to press the ice cream against the roof of my mouth with my tongue till it’s melted enough to swallow. Works for me

  • You made some good points I hadn’t thought of! My dietitian recommends Halo Top but I assume all professionals tailor their plans for different patients.

  • Ok. You’re gorgeous. But having said that, you eat so much junk food and dessert(sugar). How much steroids do you take to compensate?

  • So you mention that if you grew up in a home where you had to clean your plate that will play a role in your thought process and your feelings of whether you have control around food. What if you grew up in a Home where food was scarce and when you did have it you eat as much as you could because you didn’t know when you would have a good meal again?

  • The thing is: I like “nicecream” bc I am lactose intolerant and the lactose free version of brands often tastes eh…but I hate that it is called “nicecream”. I mean its from both the healthy eaiting and the vegan community, or their huge overlap….ugh. (also completly ignores the fact that just because no cows are suffering, your bananas are most likely harvested by underpaid workers that struggle to bring food to their own table, yay)

  • Do you also stand in front of methadone clinics telling the heroin addicts that they’re just perpetuating their addictive behavior? Give me a break. In a society such as America, Halo Top is very aptly named; the calories on the pint are a lot better than the alternative; and don’t you think as a dietitian you’ve got bigger fish to not fry?

No one eats half a pint of ice cream. They are right about that. Women. All feeling, no logic.

  • I prefer to buy individual ice cream cones. I binge if I just have a tub of it. I don’t want to restrict ice cream, but I end up feeling sick if I have a tub. I have battled anorexia, and ice cream was always on my banned food list. I know that if I have the individual cones, when I want one I’ll just have one rather than feeling out of control and eating the entire tub.

My favourite ice cream is actually a vegan one. It’s a Tesco own brand coconut milk based choc ice. It’s delicious.

  • Did you think this through before you made this video???? I have two sons….one of them has to watch everything that hits his teeth to stay thin, then my other son..he can eat anything and never gain an ounce. It’s a tough dynamic for them because I would say my son who has to watch his intake is actually more active than my son who can eat anything. What I’m saying is that genetics and weight gain and loss are not always fair, we all like to eat ice cream and lots of it and if there’s an ice cream when I can do that and offer that to my child I think that’s great.
@AC711 said below that the only bad thing about Halo Top is the price, and I have to agree. Your trying to look into some huge psyche thinking process over it and it is simple….Ice Cream is good…i want a lot of it….it makes you fat….yay low fat option…I’m on it. That Simple….Love to all…Kitten Also, you are absolutely wrong about how your body will tell you how much Ice Cream to have…like for me when it comes to Ice Cream or Yogurt…if I ate what my body told me…I would be HUGE. You are not addressing that most people have weaknesses, Ice Cream is a common weakness.

  • Who doesn’t eat the entire pint? I eat the whole thing with no shame because it’s delicious. However, its way better to eat Halo Top, because it has only a 1/4 the calories as say Ben & Jerry’s.

  • I don’t have a food processor but I do have an icecream machine…can you plz tell how I can use that to make the icecream instead of a food processor?

  • Ben and Jerry’s Non-Dairy 7 Layer Coconut Bar is my favorite! That stuff is amazing (I’m Vegan, not trying to eat “healthier’ ice cream or anything. I’m pretty sure this ice cream has similar nutrition amounts as normal ice cream. It doesn’t have any cholesterol though, as that only comes from animal sources).

  • i have 2 questions:
1does the milk have to be almond milk? can’t it be other type of milk?
1do the strawberries have to be frozen?? or can they be fresh too?

  • Since I don’t like strawberries, I would like to try with raspberries. I bet it would be heavenly. Not the true Neapolitan but still very yummy.

  • I respect the video but shouldn’t the first issue be universal. I mean, all companies encourage people to eat large quantities. It’s not just a diet ice cream thing.

  • After looking up the commercials for Halo Top, I found that they were preaching “our ice cream is good, other ice creams are evil”.

The angel and demon in the commercial as well as the name Halo Top, gave me the vibe that they were preaching.

  • D the only one that is there for me to do so please fix it or give it eyeballs a lot more to me and more than just the cra p video games

  • I’ve tried this product twice both times I had a dish, and then eventually threw out the whole container. It tastes salty to me and the texture is odd. I would rather go to a local stand and have a cone with really good real ice cream and enjoy it on occasion. (fav flavor is a tie between Frozen Pudding add Coffee Kaluha Brownie both by Richardsons Dairy in New England area )

  • It’s been 6 months since I had my favourite fast food. 2 months it was because of high school exams rest 4 months due to lockdown. Meanwhile these youtube recommendations
Me: Don’t do that. Don’t give me hope.

  • You are amazing! Loved your recipes and loved your easy and breezy way of explaining the steps. Super video, am definitely going to try these and download your ebook too. Thank you for both.

  • Hello love this ice cream am about to make it now can I use normal milk I need the reply as soon as possible the banana is already in the freezer

  • Well said. It really bothers me how Halo Top puts so much emphasis on the calorie count and protein content, as if that’s what makes it “healthy.”

  • Can poverty be an issue with people and food? Meaning someone who grew up or with limited food may have a sense of having to eat everything that they get their hands on now

  • Good to know, but it would have been better to point out how ice cream increases inflammation in the first place instead of waiting until 3:27 to say so. Plus, the title makes this segment sound like click bait.
