  • CURED FROM GENITAL HERPES VIRUS AFTER USING DOCTOR HAZIM HERBAL MEDICINE
Herbal supplements have existed for thousands of years and can be traced over several different cultures. For now. Herbs are now used to cure diabetics, herpes, chronic pain, asthma, hepatitis b, cancer, ALS, Ovarian Cyst and even  GENITAL HERPES. I like herbs so much. Most of the time, the injection and the drug are only a loss of duration. I was cured of GENITAL HERPES  last year with the use of herbs, I suffered from GENITAL HERPES  for 13 years, but with the help of DR. Hazim Usman  Herbal Medicine, I was cured in a few weeks of using the herbs he sent me by DHL Courier Delivery. • Well I live next to the coast in Queensland’s and as a 16 year old that always goes fishing and spear fishing after a good swim or surf and nothing beats the taste and health benefits of eating fresh fish from clean waters and untouched waters.

  • i agree with the flour 4 sure. i was eating lots of homebakd gds with it in the past few months & it wrecked my kidneys worse thn ever.i’ll replace it with fruit flour when i can.that other flour is really bad.:[

  • hey1 how ’bout JAPANESE food1? Okinawa has more centinarians ny place on Earth! I am deeply surprised that Jfoods from Japan like not at all! or as questions from your audience. I am 17 most likely your youngest viewer, I am mostly north European but have some Japanese ancestry as well. There is more to like Japanese food than just like sushi! Please remember like to include Japanese food in your next webinar or the like as well. Thanks

  • Truly a joke. Dr. OZ plays with these little games no matter what show he is doing. And shame on Oprah for doing that repeating everything he says thing, like her audience is composed of 5 year olds. This is just an ad for his questionable products.

  • Five foods you should not eat?
    1. Sugar
    2. Any processed seed oils, like corn oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, peanut oil, grapeseed oil, soybean oil, etc.
    3. Wheat
    4. Any nuts, seeds, legumes, etc. that cause you any kind of allergic reaction
    5. Processed foods with high fructose corn syrup added.
    Everything else is probably OK.

  • She wasn’t even listening. Animal fat is lard. Hydrogenated oils… “so this is lard?” No Oprah. Jebuz. And by the way, none of those oils are healthy. Pfft. The Oprahization of America was nothing more than the same as rest of the corrupt TV ‘programming’. “Don’t eat butter use margarine.” For decades, we’ve had been LIED to by TV programming. Now, you are programmed by social media. Cut the cord. Delete your social media accounts. Seek truth.

  • Canola oil and vegetable oils are not really the best for you. A little bit is fine and can be healthy. Omega 6 is not bad for you. It is just about keeping a balance between omega 6 and omega 3. Having too much omega 3 is bad too. It is the same with HDL and LDL. You just need an appropriate balance. Too much hdl is bad and too much ldl is bad. ldl is needed for endocrine function. hdl is needed to prevent heart disease and to balance ldl. Omega 6 is important for brain function. Omega 3 is needed to build cells and prevent heart disease. Flaxseed oil is better than Canola.

  • She lost me when she said i work for a GMO COMPANY YEAH MONSANTO THAT MAKES POISON VEGGIE’S NO FLAVOR NO VITAMINS CARD BOARD VEGGIE’S FULL OF POISONS NEVER EAT GMO’S NEVER. ORGANIC OR FORGET FEELING BETTER.

  • I think she’s missing the point here. According to the book The Mindspan Diet by Preston Estep, a distinguished gerontologist at Harvard Medical School, we already know that at least 70% of dementia and other CNS diseases is caused by an excess of heme iron in the diet as we age. Heme iron is found in meat, fish, supplements and fortified foods, and Dr Estep writes that there is a strong consensus in the research community that we are ingesting far too much. In communities such as the Blue Zones where dementia is much rarer, people eat a low iron diet and are borderline anaemic by standard measures. I’m a very cynical and critical reader, but the evidence Estep presents is overwhelming and I’ve made major changes to my lifestyle based on his advice.

  • Whole Grains, wheat, barley, rye, and oats all have Gluten which destroys your “VILI” in your small intestine making it difficult and eventually impossible to absorb nutrients so avoid it and this video if you want to maintain a healthy body.

  • Saturated fat is the best, most protective, and anti inflammatory fats. Seed oils are TOXIC to humans and HFC and all carbohydrates should be avoided completely. I guess we can see who pays his and Oprah’s paycheck. Sickening.

  • It’s funny, how he mentions olive oil as healthy, but fails to mention, that olive oil oxidizes, after being exposed to heat. Not good!?Understandably knowing he’s not a real doctor. He just plays one on t.v.

  • Dr Greger, I wish I could sufficiently express how much I appreciate all the time and effort you put into helping humans become as healthy as possible. Much love to you and your family.

  • Take out all carbs diabetes is eliminated. Grains will not help to lose weight. Corn is bad and even some are GMO it’s fructose causes non alcoholic fattyliver.

  • Is Jasmine rice included in white rice category. I have been thinking it hasn’t been stripped of minerals and hasn’t been bleached.

  • Me was about to eat white rice while watching this
    Me: dam it
Also me: gets bread to mop up leftover food
    Me: dam it
Also me: was going to make couscous for the next dinner

  • BRIGHT SIDE: One thing I don’t understand about this video is towards the beginning it says that brown rice is good for you but at 5:19 it says it’s bad for you, so what gives?

  • I was eating white rice and wheat almost daily and managed to lose 8 kg…
I think it depends on the quantity you are in taking it..

  • Oats are great also to reduce bad cholesterol levels.
All these foods are great, but the worst enemies of our diet are salt and sugar. Limit the intake and you’ll lose weight fast and naturally.

  • Here in India..You will get everything with Chemicals and Modified hybrid..That too they Modifying Vegetables With half knowledge, copy paste from Developed countries like USA Russia..
We don’t have Quality Machines and Equipments too…

India is great country but sadly High population making it Everything under money earning Businesses..
    ☹️

  • “Some nutritionists say these diets are difficult to follow”, “It’s really hard to say goodbye to bread, pasta and rice.. most of the people will start reverting to old lifestyles and will be back to square one..” ROFLMAO that dude have no idea what he’s talking about! Once you change your way of eating you do not crave carbs and sweets anymore and thats within a couple of days-weeks! Also keto must be the easiest way to eat ever, if you eat prepacked foods or in fastfoods it is a challenge as they put weat and sugar literally in everything, but if you cook for yourself then you just eat what you always wanted to eat succulent and satisfying fats & proteins + add some veggies in the mix.

  • I already lost a lot of white
Now I’m trying to gain weight and eat healthy.

Didn’t eat that healthy today since I ate a bowl of chocolate fudge banana icecream..
Smashed 4 oak farm fudge bars and half a banana in a bowl together.
    Tasted good,but now I’m freezing.

    How I lose weight
    2500 calories a day
    Eat healthy

  • I’m taking rolled oat daily in the morning..and snacking those cucumber,cherry tomatoes,grapes, blueberry and strawberry..in a month I lost 11.3kgs

  • I never eat brown rice instead I only eat white rice and yet ai lost 7 stones of weight by running and eating everything in a balanced portion, thats what we need to do, say no to junk food, you want burgers make em at home, just stop eating deep fried food, try and use as less oil as possible, eat nuts and lowfat yogurt, chickpeas, drink plenty of water and excercise regularly, just keep it modrate otherwise you’ll get sick of it, just make a habit of healthy eating and living… Best of luck guys

  • You need to do your research & don’t believe everything you read UNLESS it is backed up by facts. Go to these 2 links for a start into hundreds of factual ones about how whole grains & wheat, & high starch/carbs are needed for your health. The Wheat Belly book is not factual. You almost made a 100% factual video, but that little lie at the end undid the good.

  • The best shark to eat is gummy shark comes from clean untouched waters they also have little ammonia in there blood with a delicious flakey meat and they are fast growing which causes little mercury.

  • great vid. currently have 6 boxes of Near East couscous mix to replace rice. Plan to return back to grocery store and purchase quinoa. thanks..

  • I am very sceptic about this diet.I have quitt carbs, so AS potatoes rice and pasta.I get my fat sources from oily fish and avocado.I eat just a Thin slice og danish wholegrainbread with my breakfast.I do not think its very healthy too just eat so much fat AS you want.People loose weight with this low carb diet, but AS soon AS you start eating ordinary food, you would gain back everything you loose, and probably get a heartattack in the end.No Thank you.

  • I appreciate this video, meditation helps with stress hence forgiveness further helps your heart from a spiritual enegry stand point, the intangible forces are just as important as the tangible.

  • CHEMTRAILS nano aluminum being sprayed world wide! Over retirement community in Arizona looks like a checkerboard in the sky! Alitimers Hmmm Sugar is in everything literally!!!

  • You really want to lose weight and keep it off. Stop eating out. Eat organic. Stop buying processed food. Stop drinking milk, yogart and butter. Buy grass fed and finished butter. Grass fed and finished beef. Buy organic veggies they are not sprayed with Monsanto Weed Killer. Organic fruit. But cold pressed extra virgin olive oil and extra virgin coconut oil. No other processed oils that clog arteries. Buy einkorn flour no processed flour. All my craving stopped no more depression no more breakouts. No more hard bowel movements. I never felt better in my life. I was not trying to lose weight but slowly started losing excess body fat as a by product of eating right now i do not miss eating out at all. And the food has so much flavor. Hamburger tasts like hamburger. Veg have flavor. Fruit is sweet. Stop buying food that is made to kill you off early. Diets do not work. This is a life style that works. No tying of stomach. Eat walnuts. Beans, lentils.

  • no dairy, limit alcohol, coffee, a little bit of fish and chicken, no meat, leafy green vegs, beans, lentils, peanuts, flax seeds, fruit, no junk or fast food.

  • I really like this “calm“ voice on ya Greg, also like the aggressive one but I think a good mixture would be great for the future 😉

  • Avoid red meat and dairy products. Also fish; mass produced fish products, since it contains levels of heavy metals and other toxins. Also don’t eat meat, reduce the amount of suffering in the world and your body rewards you with health

  • Forget this, exercise is the first step to a healthy brain and life. Its not just for getting stronger or looking fit, its a form of discipline that your brain needs. once you have stuck to your exercise start adding more things like cooking healthy meals and then reading. one step at a time but dont rush, add pressure if something becomes too easy and reward your self after.

  • I was putting on weight on and on. I used have white rice as I m belong from India. I did blood test all report are positive. I could not able to understand why I am putting weight. I read an article about metabolic confusion started following it. And finally I delete rice from my daily diet. And then I switched over to free radicals or oxidised food. I was 3xxl to medium size I was shocked looking at my weight in month and a half time. When having rice my gut feeling heavy and then gradually I find my skin tag with diabetes melitus then shorten of breath.

  • I don’t eat cakes at all or add it sugar all natural sugar’s from fruits vegetables I eat low fat yogurts low sugar probiotics I don’t drink smoke or take drugs according to my doctor my cholesterol is excellent my blood pressure good sugar level good I eat Mediterranean diet

  • I’m 22:26 minutes into this & i already see contradictions proving she’s following the standard American death sentence. It seems as though she understands the goal but her med school programming is so engrained that she will go on to mislead everyone. You can not lower blood sugar or insulin with lots of healthy fruit & veg. A video like this should distinguish those strictly for individuals with healthy blood sugar. @ 22:26 she’s about to try to convince us that some special form of whole grain can do something good for blood sugar & brain health. This is where i give thumbs down & switch off. This is categorically WRONG. This is the backbone of the standard American death sentence & the recipe for your mulit billion dollar medical sickness industry. I’m sorry but, i’m offering constructive criticism.
If you have a health issueYouTube “that issue” & “Dr Ken Barry”. That’s where you’ll find unbiased dietary truth.

  • Me to think now bread be my eat always because simple delicious smart make rich, than rice eat much is make stupid hard ugly lazy And poor have bad thing

  • Recent magazine articles in Germany have warned of the dangers of arsenic in rice, and recommended white rice over brown due to the lower arsenic content. Any thoughts?

  • I had a lady tell me that they think there is a link between your sense of smell and Alzheimer’s. I’ve looked it up and verified that. The lady who told me this could not smell her bananas. I have to have an excellent sense of smell.

  • Wholegrains are good for us. People die early because of smoking, drinking too much and eating too much. Also eating too much processed foods. A lot of unscientific stuff being promoted here.

  • Thank you so much for the elaborated video. I now have a better understanding of diabetes and how glucose builds up in the body causing a spike in sugar. No one could have explained it better, especially using the children method. Thank you

  • This is good…i need to listen again… One little comment…i feel she worries too much about fats/dairy. Man is different to sea animals. Our body temperature is higher. Butter is good for you. So is beef dripping and so is cheese. Raw milk is a gift from God. Like all of the plants and the animals.

  • I have a problem with brown rice. Every time I eat it i get horrible stomach cramps, and bloating. I’ve tried making the same meals, just with brown vs white rice. It’s definitely the rice. I never see videos addressing this, I’d like to eat brown rice but my stomach hates me when I do. Love some insight on this issue.

  • Mind diet how can you compare marg to butter. Beef is actually 50% monounsaturated fat. Do your self a big favour and ignore that stupid Mind diet… sat fats are not trans fat. Sat fat does not promote inflamation!!!

  • Am I the only one who doesn’t want to live until I’m 90 or 100? Lol! Why don’t we all just try to eat as healthy as we can, enjoy what we eat, and most importantly, cherish who we eat with. Stress less, laugh more, and live in the moment. You never know when your time is up.♥️

  • Little titbit…sugar doesnt need insulins permission to get into a cell. It can get in directly. Via glucose transporters. After intense muscular contraction. Work out ppl lets get them gyms back open.

  • So I won’t read a single comment that will say Carbs aren’t that bad for healthy people…all the vegetarian doctors completely wrong then?

  • 4:00 Alzheimer happens in due to: Antidepressants, All Fast Foods, Industrialized Foods, we are what we eat, that is it!!! People are way too lasy to cook at home since the 80’s eating frozen garbage foods, well there is the negative results. People age 40 e 50 years young are developing Alzheimer.

  • Rice bran is addictive to wildlife, pour some on a stump and the deer will chew the stump to the ground, what is it that deer know that we don’t? I personally prefer the taste of whole grain rice, kind of a mild nutty flavor and for the life of me I cannot figure why people ever thought to remove the bran.

  • Silly comparison of cooked popcorn to dry oatmeal.. should have been oatmeal with water compared to cooked popcorn.. popcorn still wins but come on doctor greg.. dont be being bias here.. your my favourite doctor for a reason, dont ruin your credibility.. i dont want to have to start listening to dr.chang again..:/

  • Avoid red meat and dairy products. Also fish; mass produced fish products, since it contains levels of heavy metals and other toxins. Also don’t eat meat, reduce the amount of suffering in the world and your body rewards you with health

  • Dragging through the info. maybe some good info, the butter comment I left before then, undermined the whole talk a bit, wondered what else she may have been wrong about.

  • Comparing volume of prepared pop corn vs unprepared oatmeal… You sure you’re so smart Greg? Prepares oatmeal is 3-4 times the volume

  • Mind diet how can you compare marg to butter. Beef is actually 50% monounsaturated fat. Do your self a big favour and ignore that stupid Mind diet… sat fats are not trans fat. Sat fat does not promote inflamation!!!

  • I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Then I went on a keto diet and was stunned that I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I no longer have the hunger crashes and spikes and can easily intermittent fast. My joints feel fluid too. I’m new to the ketogenic diet but I’m all in. Thought I would be craving sugar and high carb foods but I’m not and that’s amazing to me.

  • Don’t be fooled! Everything is bad in comparison to a whole food plant based diet. Animal products cause 14 of 15 most deadly western diseases. That’s why they are the most deadly, because most people consume animal products in the west. Authorities won’t ever educate the public about right nutrition, because they make billions of dollars on health care, pharmaceutics and animal products. Nutritionfacts.org.

  • Bread is a gift from God, if you’re on a diet that takes away bread good luck but you’re just making yourself miserable. I eat bread everyday and I’ve been loosing weight because I workout everyday, don’t eat a bunch of fried chemical mush, and I portion control. And I’m an endomorph

  • I don’t think so

    White bread GI 75+2
    White Rice 73+4

White Rice 4.3 grams of protein per cup

    White Bread 2.7 grams

Eggs can be thrown into white rice as well.

I’d like to see you try and make french toast with beans…

  • hey Dr. Greger! I have a question for you. Are low HDL levels actually bad? I am vegan, eat lots of raw food with some cooked food, no processed food, no table salt only himilayan, mostly organic, etc but have low HDL levels. thanks in advance

  • I’m thankful that i live in a place with sufficient amount of different rice from white, red and black, i eat rice on daily basis..i preferred red rice for longevity and taste good as well..

  • Me was about to eat white rice while watching this
    Me: dam it
Also me: gets bread to mop up leftover food

  • Would’ve liked a mention of whole grain bread, whole grain brown rice. Whole grain rice cakes…Maybe through steel cut Oatmeal in the mix…

  • Can’t find the popcorn in Aus anyone had any luck? I can get straight kernels etc no problem will that suffice or is there a specific kernel that produces the lower cal stuff?

  • Rice is better for bodybuilding because of its calories. Rice allows you eat a lot more so you get more volume. A piece of bread is like 150 calories, which doesn’t fill you up that much. So if you’re trying to stay fulll, eating a few bowls of rice, instead of 2 pieces of bread, is definitely the better option.

  • Can’t find the popcorn in Aus anyone had any luck? I can get straight kernels etc no problem will that suffice or is there a specific kernel that produces the lower cal stuff?

  • You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Gospel. Scriptures say to be temperate in all things.

  • started eating forbidden rice. purple, amf it makes my tummy sensitive and little nauseous. But I love eating it, it’s after that it’s not so great.

  • It’s hot, it’s delicious, it’s less calorie than pasta.
That’s the reason we love rice:(
Bread is fun but it doesn’t add to my plate

  • I don’t know what the fuck rice you are looking at but on planet Earth rice has the same amount of protein as bread, plus if I eat 100 g of bread it’s like I’m eating nothing if I eat 100 g of rice I’m full. Also choose integral rice it’s tastier. The rice I buy has 7 g of protein per 100g

  • I love bread, my whole wheat organic seed bread is 140 calories and 4 grams of fiber 6 grams of protein per slice. Make a peanut butter sandwich with a tablespoon of chia seeds in the peanut butter and i can get 12gs of fiber and 22g of protien for 420 calories. And greg the unateral part of peanut butter is hydrogenated fats which is not good for weight lose. Oh and some people dont have time to fetishize our calories. Popcorn takes to damn long to eat. Oatmeal ftw. But yeah I get if you can’t “put down the fork” why popcorn is good for that.

  • I appreciate this video, meditation helps with stress hence forgiveness further helps your heart from a spiritual enegry stand point, the intangible forces are just as important as the tangible.

  • Btw, when was the last time you ate fish?
Also, find out what happens to your body if you start taking fish oil every day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvYU9s8hv2U

  • We used to eat fish all the time.. blue gill. Trout crappie. Salmon. Everything changed when I started getting cravings for worms

  • Sorry i can’t effort eating fish every day beacuse I am pure vegetarian so pls tell something more next time as an Indian

  • I eat sardines, and oysters and they didn’t mention octopus which i also eat from a can! Crab, Lobster and mussels too, Red Lobster rocks!

  • Aaaaaaaargh please people STOP EAGING COCONUT OIL ITS SO SO SO BAD FOR YOU!!!
it’s the unhealthiest fat that there is… Look it up

  • Greg is all about total amount of food vs. calories. Rice isn’t bad, but the portion size compared to popcorn or bread vs. calories is sooo much higher in rice. There is nothing wrong with rice, but the satiety won’t be high.

  • Started pescatarian yesterday. Favorite fish is red snapper, but I definitely don’t consume on a daily basis. My plan is to eat different types of fishes (except tilapia) and seafoods.

  • mmmm, i think that a brazilian chef, Alex Atala, was the person who gave attention to a farmer who cultivated these wonderful good tasty Black Rice. At least is very tasty when I eat in the restaurant

  • All fish is full of mercury, cadmium, lead, PCBs, antibiotics, cholesterol and is a leading cause of ocean depletion. Imagine eating that every day. Fish is not food. There are plenty of plant sources of omega threes.

  • Chew black sesame seeds, eat avocados, use citrus skin oils to flavor, use grains with its oils-go natural…..minimum oil pouring is a good habit.

  • Don’t eat too much fish because all the chemicals and gasses and trash in the ocean the fish consumes it and then you end up consuming most of it!

  • I really like this “calm“ voice on ya Greg, also like the aggressive one but I think a good mixture would be great for the future 😉

  • The issue with bread is that you will want to put oily and sugary stuff together. Try eating peanut butter with rice or jam on rice. It is not tasty at all. So, steamed rice makes you change your other food choices. Asian people don’t eat fried rice so often. If you cook fried rice, you will see how much oil you need.

  • Been on a candida cleanse and salmon is recommended! Been feeling great after the initial flatlines and low moods, I eat it twice a day for lunch and dinner. Sardines too!

  • I run marathons. I’m vegan. I’m allergic to corn so I don’t eat processed foods. When I’ve attempted to do more than 13mile runs without enuf carbs IT HAS BEEN TORTURE!!!! Any actual athletes try this? AND NO, IM NOT EATING ANIMALS. It jus seems like everyone who loves this was already unhealthy. I’m super fit, very healthy. Always taught carbs was the fuel for the body.

  • no dairy, limit alcohol, coffee, a little bit of fish and chicken, no meat, leafy green vegs, beans, lentils, peanuts, flax seeds, fruit, no junk or fast food.

  • I love you Evan! I’m in Ka’u, Hawaii, overlooking South Point, the southernmost tip of the USA. I love all of your videos. I watch many (Jim Rohn, Florence Scovel Shin, etal), but yours are a fav! Thriiive! Aloha #BelieveNation

  • Biggest take away hyrdrogenated oils really fascinating will be looking for this now everywhere, also not to heat up Olive oil etc. Thank you for this always very educational especially around health, take what you need and it’s about being conscious about what we put in our bodies. The reference to Diet Coke and how that affects our microbiome what’s so good. Appreciate all the team and would just say our thoughts are with you Evan & Nina, and your whole family as you are going through a difficult time yet content is still happening. Really sending gratitude and love to all of you. Ahmed thanks for keeping things going here and supporting Evan. #Believe #BTA646 #inspirationnation #IN

  • All of the animal fat is bad, no matter what anyone says. That is what clogs arteries and causes heart disease and cardio-pulmonary issues (especially if you are not exercising hard regularly).

  • I’m starting a diet today. I need to lose weight, now. Your video is exactely ehat I needed today! Thank you. I’m from Italy

  • Its not u stupid negative fuck. Why would you want fiber and gluten from bread that fucks up your gut and keep you bloated all day. It slows down your metabolism, and makes inflamation around your body. And Popcorn!? Really? What kind of coach are u. Why do u think most people are gluten intolerant? BECAUSE WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT, just like lactose from milk.

  • #Believe.
    Fontana, CA, USA
Shocked to learn about garlic and onion. Will remove from foods (which may be a challenge, as I love, love, love garlic).

  • The video started as BREAD vs RICE

But ended as POPCORN vs OATMEAL

This was jyst Greg telling us to eat popcorn. Popcorn is the only carb that matters

  • You eat white rice with lentil this balance meal. Because in lentil have missed 1 amino acid and white rice missed fiber. Those are meal mix together you get balance meal. I eat every single day white rice and lentil I not face any health issues

  • mmmm, i think that a brazilian chef, Alex Atala, was the person who gave attention to a farmer who cultivated these wonderful good tasty Black Rice. At least is very tasty when I eat in the restaurant

Hi Evan, My name is Chanel. I’m from Brooklyn New York and I thank you so much for you’re channel. My mother and I love what you stand for and anyone that is contributing love, Positive energy and change to this world. So I thank you again. Whatever works for you than that’s what you do for you. I hope this helps millions of people & God Bless thank you gain!!

  • Never complain about your situation physical and intellectual when you never take care about what you put in your stomach #Believe nation forever

  • 1. Rice is not really healthy, as 3 billion 80lb asians prove
    2. If bread was healthy Mcdonalds and booger king would be health food stores

  • Saturated fat is not bad for you. Trans fat, too much omega 6, processed starch, and sugars are bad for you. Even fully hydrogenated oils which aren’t trans fats are still bad for you. Not all saturated fats are fats are made equal. Take butter or coconut oil vs a donut. The butter and coconut oil contain a certain type of saturated fat plus vitamins and minerals. They raise your hdl, lower triglycerides, and raise a certain type of ldl that doesn’t stick to your arteries that much. The donut contains saturated fat but also lots of sugars, trans fats or fully hydrogenated oils, and processed starch. Saturated fat plus sugar, processed starch, or trans fat is a lethal mix. All of those mixed in the donut will spike your bs, insulin, and cause your liver to make more ldl, vldl, triglycerides, and trans fat also lowers your hdl. So which one is healthier? You tell me.

  • Doesnt bread haveore sugar and processed. Rice never makes me sleepy and if you eat the non white rice its a ton better. Popcorn gets caught in my intestines. When you do a triathlon or a run which of the 3 is best durring competition..rice. Popcorn.your nuts. Fiber? When you do cyclingor running you are a human poop machine.

  • It’s always the dietitians that hate Keto…. They need to get with the program. Keto is awesome. No-one ever explains that on Keto you naturally eat fewer calories, on average you are satiated on 12-1500 calories per day. You are eating a higher proportion of fat in your diet however you are not necessarily eating loads of fat because you are eating about 50% of the food you were before.

  • I’m thankful that i live in a place with sufficient amount of different rice from white, red and black, i eat rice on daily basis..i preferred red rice for longevity and taste good as well..

  • never trust the fronts of packages, as the safest assumption is that if the packaging is trying to convince you that the contents are healthful, there’s a better chance that they’re not than that they are.

  • As the speaker points out, this is not a vegan diet she is promoting. However, to get the benefits of seafood without the drawbacks, a DHA supplement made from algae and a B12 supplement is an option. Other sources of Omega-3 include ground flax seeds, walnuts, chia and hemp seeds. The reason fish contain Omega-3 is that they eat algae, or other fish that do so. I go to the source, and skip the fish.

  • Okay does anyone know a good source for the colorful rice options that’s not high in arsenic? Nutritionfacts.org has several videos warning about rice and arsenic and then there’s this! So where oh where can I purchase this colorful rice that is safe

  • You have shown no data reporting on actual presence of AS in human, rice-consuming bodies. Until you do so, this is
    all conjecture.

  • The reason low carb works for weightloss is obvious. Carbs have more calories. Less fat on the body = healthier. Plus if you now switch the bad carbs out for healthy greens youre gonna feel healthier. Its as Easy as this. I Was always skinny. I eat a lot of carbs now. I’m at a healthier weight and I’m stronger and more well focused. Moderation and fitness is the key to health. Not diets. Carbs are not bad. But too many calories is!!!!!

  • Fruits, whole grains, oats are NOT as good for you as people think. Keto is not restrictive and combining it was IF has so many other health benefits besides just weight loss!

  • I switched over to brown rice years ago when someone told me about short grain brown rice, much more palatable. Now I mix my brown rice with black and red rice

  • I honestly hate the texture and how it feels like I’m eating nothing when I consume white rice. I love that black rice is much tougher and the texture is just perfect. Cannot deal with mushy rice. Black rice is life <3

  • There are basically three parts to a kernel of rice..
    1. Bran, which is the outer shell, is removed and packaged and resold as a health food.
    2. Germ, where the essential oils and nutrients are located, is removed and packaged and resold as another health food.
    3. Endosperm, no real nutritional value, the leftover product which is known as white rice, they add artificial nutrients to it and sell it to you as “Enriched” rice.

  • Too bad the rice bran contains the highest levels of the naturally occurring arsenic rice pulls from the soil… and that the 40 minutes red and black rice need to be cooked degrades their anthocyanins.

  • “White rice is like apocalypse food. Even putting twinkies to shame. Still eatable after 30 years, but by then may have a slight playdough odor” Hahahaha… sooo funny xD I laughed so hard xD
thank you for your very good video, I already changed to brown rice, some days ago, but this video supports what I felt (inflammations after a white rice meal).

  • For me, not being able to eat fruit ( esp apples and tropical fruits such as bananas, mangoes, pineapples ) is the hardest part on low carb diet!!

  • I can only eat white rice, brown rice tend’s to make my stomach feel like it’s being poked by hard brown rice plus it takes forever to cook whereas white rice is fast food.

  • Avoid seed oils like canola, corn and soy oils.
Eat olive oil, coconut oil, ghee or butter in moderation and don’t be afraid of their saturated fat. (Their role in heart disease has been disproven)
And try to get some omega 3’s in your diet from sources like Wild salmon, mackerel and sardines, as well as flax seeds and walnuts.

  • White rice and refined white flour both act on me like refined sugar…cause burning in my gullet….whole grain rice I can have all I want.

Please comment on the arsenic levels now being found in domestically grown rices.
    Thanks for this info!

  • To get the levels of gamma oryzanol achieved in the strength study, you would only need to take 3 tablespoons of rice bran oil daily:

  • Dr. Gregger, you provide wonderful content and tips for the public. What I want to see is how you adapt this knowledge to your life. Can you please do a What I Eat in a Day video?

  • All sounds good but i saw article in paper the other day that brown rice and other white rice is full of arsenic.Pretty much cleanest rice out there is basmati rice which comes from poorer countries which can’t afford pesticides. So which is better?Eat rice full of arsenic or eat bit fatter basmatti rice?

  • Word of warning on Lentils, these can triggers inflammation due to Lectins. I used to get serious pain in my shoulder area and chest. It was only by eliminating food from my diet and discovering what was triggering the pain that I discovered it was Lentils and Aduki beans. Research into lentils confimed this.

  • Is Jasmine rice included in white rice category. I have been thinking it hasn’t been stripped of minerals and hasn’t been bleached.

  • I’ve still got some wild rice, multicolored quinoa, amaranth, and non-GMO corn kernels for popping I haven’t eaten. Wild rice goes good with broccoli and beans. Wild rice may take almost as much time to cook as some types of presoaked dried beans. The wild rice gives off, to me, a somewhat tea-like earthy pleasant aroma as it cooks. If I can break away some more from the pb with celery, bell pepper, and apples craze I’ve got going on then maybe I’ll eat more rice and whatever. Good info about the rice though. I’ve heard it said, you should eat a rainbow. It just goes to show.

  • Lol my doctor tried to send me a vitamin D supplement once she found out my d vitamin was low smfh I can eat fish then drink milk whatever

  • Doctor, I’ve refrained from eating too much brown rice because of the arsenic that is in it. Have you got any additional info on that?

  • “White rice is like apocalypse food. Even putting twinkies to shame. Still eatable after 30 years, but by then may have a slight playdough odor” Hahahaha… sooo funny xD I laughed so hard xD
thank you for your very good video, I already changed to brown rice, some days ago, but this video supports what I felt (inflammations after a white rice meal).

  • The only problem with BR is inorganic arsenic(carcinogen) and from what ive heard because WR has much less because its more processed. Any opinions?

  • Im foreign and i often dont understand alot of words you use in your videos and i get really confused sometimes…could you try to sum up what you said at the end of every video please? I would really like to know what all these studies show because im a vegan and im looking for science to support the claims i make when i talk to people about veganism

  • The best wsy to enjoy vegs is to make green smoothies. Look at boutenko films. Then you’ll start to crave raw vegetables. I’m using fruit juice to blend the greens and oh so yummy they are.

  • Thoughts on which diet I should I follow for RA? I’ve thought about keto but much of the foods cause higher inflammation and I have a history of heart issues in my family. I’ve returned to lifting and do cardio 4 days a week…so some carbs are needed for energy. With RA I’ve been told to eliminate grains and dairy. I have no idea which way to go.

  • This was great, thanks, been searching for “muscle mass building workouts home” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of Zanabriel Workout Weevilled (just google it )? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got excellent success with it.

  • Would’ve liked a mention of whole grain bread, whole grain brown rice. Whole grain rice cakes…Maybe through steel cut Oatmeal in the mix…

  • It’s hot, it’s delicious, it’s less calorie than pasta.
That’s the reason we love rice:(
Bread is fun but it doesn’t add to my plate

  • I just followed this for 2 days. I’m sooo hungry! Bowls of broccoli, sweet potatoes, berries & some fish don’t fill me up. This is crazy.
And I’m not trying to lose any weight. Butter isn’t as bad as she claims. We need fat, even if a little is saturated. Fish oil isn’t the only answer & not all of it is so pure. Wish she recommended a good brand.

  • Did you know that the Arthritis Society states that  CBD has been found to be effective in reducing pain and inflammation? I heard this and I tried the CBD Melody Drops and  Alleviate Topical Cream really helped me with my pain.

  • Hey thanks for the wise words, I been really thinking about going into the whole losing wheight and dieting latley. Should I do keeto? Do you have any advice?
Some other people recomended me this blog https://wordp602103697.wordpress.com/blog/ but i don’t know if it is legit? As you seem kind of like an expert compared to me I would like to hear your opinion.

  • Don’t agree with the information here the person lost memory, rezoning and comprehension between 45 to 49 age, don’t think is true

  • brown rice is bad it has more phytic acid which is removed with white rice making white rice healthier than brown it contains anti nutrients that prevent you from absorbing the nutrients anyway and there is more arsenic in brown rice than there is in white rice which gives you cancer the phytic acid is found in the hull and germ that is removed with white rice making white rice healthier than brown rice and there is only like 1 gram of fiber anyway in brown rice which is no big amount of benefits when your going to be eating lots of fruits and veggies in a plant based diet me personally i like white rice better because its not bitter which brown rice is very bitter and has a nutty taste that i dont like to taste when i am making a pot of stew like dhal but thats just me personally its just a matter of preference i like white rice im from guyana and we eat white rice with everything and i just cant see myself eating tasteless very bitter brown rice. uh no sorry taste over health i guess

  • If you are eating less calories than you burn, carbs will not make you fat. I can prove this with the simple fact that bodybuilders get to single digit body fat levels by eating mostly carbs and protein. If anyone who wants to challenge this or explain to me how bodybuilders are getting that low in body fat by eating carbs I am open to arguments.

  • When considering eating healthy, you must try not to fall victim to modern day fad diet plans. Extreme diet plans are a danger for your health, especially ones that seriously restrict your everyday nutritional intake. Many of these fad diet plans work for a short period and then the benefits decrease after a while. It is best to search Custokebon Secrets on the google search engine as it isn’t just another fad diet where you starve yourself.

  • CHEMTRAILS nano aluminum being sprayed world wide! Over retirement community in Arizona looks like a checkerboard in the sky! Alitimers Hmmm Sugar is in everything literally!!!

  • Dr oz is smart and says alot of good stuff but you gotta really listen and question what he says because uts not always exact so do your own research

  • Eat, sleep, move and have healthy relationships. Avoid products that have a label, added sugars, fried foods and refined food, alcohol and smoking sigarettes. Instead, eat greens, beens, mushrooms, seeds, berries, unions and always add herbs and spices. A whole food plant based diet is what is best for you. Don’t forget to supplement B12 and iodine. It’s all about knowing your risks.

Thanks

  • Dr Greger, I wish I could sufficiently express how much I appreciate all the time and effort you put into helping humans become as healthy as possible. Much love to you and your family.

  • I am currently on a diet too. I already lost about 20 lbs over the past couple months (2 and a half?) and I’m feelng awesome. I noticed one important thing: I have to east a little of EVERYTHING. If I eat too much meat or fat (I’m taling the healthy kind), I feel like crap too. if I eat a little bit of HQ bread, I feel awesome for long and I have no “cravings” it’s unrelated. Recommending to go extreme to either side is brainwashing. (same with politics, art, religion and virtually any other aspect of human life). Listen to your body, observe how it feels after certain foods, and learn from it. Look at your mood, energy levels and skin/complexion. Mine are all just fine, and so much better. Perhaps for some high protein&fat will be fine, for me it’d be a torture.

  • The only problem with BR is inorganic arsenic(carcinogen) and from what ive heard because WR has much less because its more processed. Any opinions?

  • BRIGHT SIDE: One thing I don’t understand about this video is towards the beginning it says that brown rice is good for you but at 5:19 it says it’s bad for you, so what gives?

  • I was eating white rice and wheat almost daily and managed to lose 8 kg…
I think it depends on the quantity you are in taking it..

  • Oats are great also to reduce bad cholesterol levels.
All these foods are great, but the worst enemies of our diet are salt and sugar. Limit the intake and you’ll lose weight fast and naturally.

  • when i drink a soda, before my meal in the resturant is served, I’m already full and I can’t eat the food so how is it that it makes you want to eat more, maybe much later but i get full on one can of soda so if there is no food, i drink and i love sweets but the soda now adays. i don’t like either coke or pepsi unless it has a flavoring of cherry orange or vanilla or both but without it i don’t know i don’t like either anymore. did they take out the sugar? or the fructose? I feel like i’m drinking plain alkaseltzer. which i hate. YUCK!!!!

  • You talk so much shit bout rice, i eat rice every fucking day, two fucking cups and popping a 6 pack and strong as fuck, my main source of energy is white jazmin rice so shut the up you roided out loser Greg

  • I don’t think so

    White bread GI 75+2
    White Rice 73+4

White Rice 4.3 grams of protein per cup

    White Bread 2.7 grams

Eggs can be thrown into white rice as well.

  • how do KAMUT and TEFF rank on your grain meter? (RE:8 Grains to Eat to Lose Weight and 3 to Avoid) Thanks, Kali Gainesville, FL

  • 1. Rice is not really healthy, as 3 billion 80lb asians prove
    2. If bread was healthy Mcdonalds and booger king would be health food stores

  • I LOVE Quinoa!

But I so want to try other sprouted grains like buckwheat and lentils adding them to salads or green juices. Just sounds yummy!

  • Whole Grains, wheat, barley, rye, and oats all have Gluten which destroys your “VILI” in your small intestine making it difficult and eventually impossible to absorb nutrients so avoid it and this video if you want to maintain a healthy body.

  • Yo Odin. Still out here grindin.
Eating an all fruit diet the past few days an yougurt. I think you can alchemicali change gut molecules to change your prospective. Gives you different much to your #believenation an your #xocountry

  • The hospital breakfast replacement now has an egg (good) and 2 slices of toast. Why not get rid of the toast and replace it with an avocado. Why only cut half the sugar, cut all of it.

  • I ate a sweet potato today and was wondering if eating it with the skin would have been better, particularly for digestive reasons?

  • Sorry to say but I don’t watch your full video. Because what they are talking I don’t understand ascend. So please give subtitles. What they are talking…

  • I’ve lost 5 kilos in 4 weeks, reduced sugar, no processed food, and bread maybe once a week. I consume rice alternative days, two fruits and 3 serves of veggies and 10 almonds I eat everyday with protein

  • I LOVE Quinoa!

But I so want to try other sprouted grains like buckwheat and lentils adding them to salads or green juices. Just sounds yummy!

  • To be fair, the oatmeal should have been cooked as well if you are going to compare it to popped popcorn (Comparing raw oats to unpoped kernels would have been better). The oatmeal also grows in size especially if a lot of liquid is added, but either way the popcorn is more voluminous.

  • The Starch Solution enabled me to go vegetarian, which enabled me to walk with no hip pain, among other benefits. The actual plan is vegan and if followed, it eliminates type Ii diabetes by an astonishing 100 percent of the time. And I like what the woman at the end of this program said, what is important is to eat natural, unprocessed foods. I lost several friends to heart attack due to fast foods. Seems like you need to go one way or to the other extreme, and most definitely cut out anything processed.

  • This video enraged Big Medicine and Big Pharma to initiating a nationwide witch hunt against ABC and cost the host and her team their jobs. That’s how you know this video is the truth.

  • started eating forbidden rice. purple, amf it makes my tummy sensitive and little nauseous. But I love eating it, it’s after that it’s not so great.

  • Doctor, I’ve refrained from eating too much brown rice because of the arsenic that is in it. Have you got any additional info on that?

  • These people are idiots. They remove one major food group, carbs, and they lose weight, but they fail to realize they lost weight because of the cut in calories, not because they removed carbs. Now, I defy anybody to run a fast mile without eating carbs.

  • Okay people here is the clue: Low Carb works and it works fast and efficient. But for most people it is not applicable in the long term. Here is what you want to do if you want to change your eating habits in a real sense. Cook from Scratch, eat a variety of food (don’t exclude one food group completely), Drink Water instead of Sodas or Fruitjuices and exercise lightly. This will fix your weight problems and nothing else!

  • Im not sure there is a flaw hitting in LCHF when adding too much isolated fat. If you eat fat cells, is it the same like eating butter or coconut oil or any other oil?

The main problem are isolated carbs like high fructose corn syrup. Or white sugar.

So for me it is logically that isolated fat will cause also problems. Maybe problems we are not aware at the moment.

So if you just replace one isolated macronutrient with another, dont think this is a good idea. For me it is more safe to keep foods like they were. Cutting out food which is not really ready to eat.

  • Blaming on foods people get fat because they set in the couch don’t do excersice I eat anything carbs rice pasta potatoes I work out weights 4x a week I’m turning 60 don’t take any meds

  • White rice and refined white flour both act on me like refined sugar…cause burning in my gullet….whole grain rice I can have all I want.

Please comment on the arsenic levels now being found in domestically grown rices.
    Thanks for this info!

  • When I watch videos about eating healthily, the focus always seems to be on losing weight. I’m struggling to find any information on how to gain weight, but ag the same time, follow a healthy diet.

  • Then how come other cultures who consume rice as a staple are not overweight like Westerners, is it portion or mixing the carbohydrates with protein?

  • Six years later in 2020: Thank the sugar industry for the fat myth. Sugar and complex sugars (carbs) is the blaggard. How many lives did/does the sugar industry destroy?

  • The medical industry is only interested in money. Think about it, its like any other business, how would they make money if everyone was well and healthy. Medical industry, education system, religions, governments, corporation are all different parts of the SaME BEaST!!! and the Beast looks to enslave you.

  • You eat white rice with lentil this balance meal. Because in lentil have missed 1 amino acid and white rice missed fiber. Those are meal mix together you get balance meal. I eat every single day white rice and lentil I not face any health issues

  • People in every day life DONT usually meet their nutritional requirement LADY IN BLACK.

Thats why 80% of the developed world have deficiencies.

And the reason Doctors or people like her are so keen to just put people on a tablet. One that makes them “feel” better but not quite enough that they dont need to rely on the tablet.

  • This is interesting. Though, I remember WHO stating that red mean and processed meat are carcinogenic. I wish all of the experts agreed. It makes it difficult for the rest of us.

  • I’m a real life success of Keto food choices too. I lost 79 lbs in 8 months. Went off almost all of my blood pressure medicine and my good cholesterol is good and my bad cholesterol has reversed. Best part????? My hinger is waaaaay less and I’ve went through 4 waves of buying new wardrobes!!!! Its a great problem. Also I have some skin access but I’m 100% happy to have it compared to being so fat.

  • Take out all carbs diabetes is eliminated. Grains will not help to lose weight. Corn is bad and even some are GMO it’s fructose causes non alcoholic fattyliver.

  • Funny how the japanese eating tice, the french eating standard wheat based french loaf and arabians eating cous cous as their staple food, do not become obese or remain slim and healthy till late age.

  • Adventists study? Really? What is wrong with you? Black rice is good. People like you, with voice like this, makes it unappealing. Get it?

  • Will we ever know exactly what is wrong and what is right???
I believe only one sweet treat a week if you must, and don’t worry too much about cheese if it is grass fed.

  • Only NO carb worked for me. 10 yrs trying low carb and lost nothing. Lost 20 lb in 2 months on no carb KETO. Not hungry most of the time went from 3 to 2 to 1 meal a day.

  • I let my glucometer be my guide. If I eat a high carb meal the numbers go way up. If I eat a low carb meal they stay low and my regular blood work from the doctor show no diabetes yet. IM staying on low carb because my glucometer says too

  • In western countries weight gains are higher. Most people live on takeaways, having own cars to drive, less pollution, less traffic and stressful life.

  • I’m looking forward to your new videos on rice. including rice and arsenic. I looked up some of the research on PubMed with Search terms like “rice arsenic Thailand” and it looks like the rice produced in Thailand is still relatively safe. but I’m really looking forward to Dr. G!

  • Keto is my way of life! I will always swear by it and I feel soooooo much better when I’m on keto! For those who are skeptical, do your research before you knock it.

  • I’ve been keto for the past year. I’ve lost 44 pounds. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it made a BIG difference in my life. I’m no longer prediabetic. I’ve had no trouble with maintaining my progress and I’m in a lazy keto category. Shrugs‍♂️

  • I’m taking rolled oat daily in the morning..and snacking those cucumber,cherry tomatoes,grapes, blueberry and strawberry..in a month I lost 11.3kgs

  • Diabetes and the solution to help it by the medical industry is a scam!

Why tell people cut out carbs when you can drain them financially by selling them insulin.

  • i agree with you but why show a cooked food (pop corn) that have more volume once cooked and raw oatmeal. you should have added water to the oatmeal to be a fair comparison

  • Went keto and lost 111 pounds and dropped my high (a1c 14) diabetes to now pre-diabetic. Getting better and better. I’m badly disabled from car accident and exercise is virtually out of the question other than in a chair. This is working!!! Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. Eat your grains and feel bad. Go keto and feel good. Don’t stay sick due to big pharma and the big food companies.

  • Will we ever know exactly what is wrong and what is right???
I believe only one sweet treat a week if you must, and don’t worry too much about cheese if it is grass fed.

  • Wondering how much grain lobbying and saturated commercializing perpetuated the consumption of high carb diets..funny how it took us so long to wake up and realize what we knew ages ago.

  • Complex Carbs/Whole foods are our main energy source and brain food. Rice, Oats, Nuts, Fungi, Pulses, Beans, Fruit & Veg. Fibre is important too.
Intermittent fasting is also the way our ancestors ate. No meals in a morning. Foraging thru the day and a large main meal on the evening containing complete nutrition. Ditch the Animal fats and cook with natural plant based healthy fats like olive oils and coconut oil/milk. Use fortified plant based milks to complete the plant based diet. Nuts will also provide more healthy fats and protein.

  • something that no one talks about is how many commonly used medication such s diuretic or meds for blood pressure or others, when used for a long time, increase the sugar in your blood. Doctors rather blame everything on the food and down play the serious side effects of medication they prescribe. If you read the fine lines of many of your meds, you will see how many change your metabolism in the long term. Another example, when I was told that I was anemic, right away,,they assume the worst ( order colonoscopy, etc..) while in fact, it was an anti acid pill i was taking which was blocking my B12 and iron consumption. I learned this on my own, and as soon as I stopped taking it, my levels went back to normal. Also, doctors never tell you that some food can cure or lower your sugar or hypertension such as ginger and garlic,, but always tell you what not to eat. Meanwhile, they push the meds and only blame your behavior. They are more protective and loyal to the pharmaceutical companies than their patients.

  • KETO increases all cause mortality… you’re much more likely to die if you do keto… Atkins version 17… yes, its just as dumb as the first 16 versions….

  • Little titbit…sugar doesnt need insulins permission to get into a cell. It can get in directly. Via glucose transporters. After intense muscular contraction. Work out ppl lets get them gyms back open.

  • Yes it works, dude real story. I’m from Texas. I’m 28 year olds I use to do Cocaine and drink a lot of beer and alcohol all day everyday, I stopped last week, I been dieting for a week on low carbs and I clearly saw a change today on my f waist. Crazy. Also worked out too so everything played out good. It works! But it’s not for everyone and it’s not a diet I can’t do all the time. That’s just me on the diet. Consult doctors and pros for your body type. Blessings

  • Well I agree with these statements, but dairy is an inflammatory food and can cause all kinds of problems with people that have skin sensitivities. It took me twenty years to figure out my body inflamed when I consumed dairy. My mind eczema to hives…. were all delayed dairy responses. I still have a bit of cream in my coffee though. But in the past, 40% of my diet was dairy.

  • Comparing volume of prepared pop corn vs unprepared oatmeal… You sure you’re so smart Greg? Prepares oatmeal is 3-4 times the volume

  • Greg is all about total amount of food vs. calories. Rice isn’t bad, but the portion size compared to popcorn or bread vs. calories is sooo much higher in rice. There is nothing wrong with rice, but the satiety won’t be high.

  • I notice lots of people keep on speaking about Femalix Secrets. But I’m uncertain if it’s good. Have you ever try this popular cellulite remover method?

  • Doesnt bread haveore sugar and processed. Rice never makes me sleepy and if you eat the non white rice its a ton better. Popcorn gets caught in my intestines. When you do a triathlon or a run which of the 3 is best durring competition..rice. Popcorn.your nuts. Fiber? When you do cyclingor running you are a human poop machine.

  • Too bad the rice bran contains the highest levels of the naturally occurring arsenic rice pulls from the soil… and that the 40 minutes red and black rice need to be cooked degrades their anthocyanins.

  • To be fair, the oatmeal should have been cooked as well if you are going to compare it to popped popcorn (Comparing raw oats to unpoped kernels would have been better). The oatmeal also grows in size especially if a lot of liquid is added, but either way the popcorn is more voluminous.

  • I had a lady tell me that they think there is a link between your sense of smell and Alzheimer’s. I’ve looked it up and verified that. The lady who told me this could not smell her bananas. I have to have an excellent sense of smell.

  • Vegans and Vegetarians have a more complicated choice of foods on this diet. Restricting the processed foods and all the sugary drinks would already contribute to weight loss. I’m not convinced about this miracle diet. Fat is fat, if not eliminated cholesterol and related diseases will still be latent.

  • I like the Wahls protocol. Organic meat/fish, 3 cups of leafy green, 3 cups of sulfur-rich veg, 3 cups of brightly coloured fruit and veg. Limited carbs. Mostly protein and fat.

  • Adventists study? Really? What is wrong with you? Black rice is good. People like you, with voice like this, makes it unappealing. Get it?

  • The issue with bread is that you will want to put oily and sugary stuff together. Try eating peanut butter with rice or jam on rice. It is not tasty at all. So, steamed rice makes you change your other food choices. Asian people don’t eat fried rice so often. If you cook fried rice, you will see how much oil you need.

  • Lard from grass feeded animals is back on the table -recently is proven that is healthy..like everything that is a natural food

  • i agree with you but why show a cooked food (pop corn) that have more volume once cooked and raw oatmeal. you should have added water to the oatmeal to be a fair comparison

  • You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Gospel. Scriptures say to be temperate in all things.

  • low carbs,even lower sugar,16/8 IF,1,5 hour dailly walks.
works for me,from 95 kg for 180cm height to 75 kg,bp from average around 135 to under 120.

    2500 calories a day
    Eat healthy

  • The video started as BREAD vs RICE

But ended as POPCORN vs OATMEAL

This was jyst Greg telling us to eat popcorn. Popcorn is the only carb that matters

  • I just ate two delicious fresh & juicy salmon fillets with dill & lemon, rice, sweetcorn, hot pepper sauce with a side of coronation slaw.. an absolutely delicious & healthy, quick & easy lunch! Beautiful!

  • Funny how the japanese eating tice, the french eating standard wheat based french loaf and arabians eating cous cous as their staple food, do not become obese or remain slim and healthy till late age.

  • Recent magazine articles in Germany have warned of the dangers of arsenic in rice, and recommended white rice over brown due to the lower arsenic content. Any thoughts?

  • You have shown no data reporting on actual presence of AS in human, rice-consuming bodies. Until you do so, this is
    all conjecture.

  • I’m looking forward to your new videos on rice. including rice and arsenic. I looked up some of the research on PubMed with Search terms like “rice arsenic Thailand” and it looks like the rice produced in Thailand is still relatively safe. but I’m really looking forward to Dr. G!

  • I have two “twin” theories about all of this that is trying to remain neutral on macro nutrient profiles. The scientists have vacillated back and forth over my own life time. The average lay person, such as myself, have tried to glean what works for my lifestyle. This investment in one’s own health cannot be substituted or overlooked. Accordingly, it doesn’t always seem to be advantageous for the food or medical industry when people take matters into their own hands.

    1. Some people are forced to epiphanies for no other reason than trying to make a living or making due with the paycheck they earn. For example, a truck driver’s lifestyle is less conducive to a healthy lifestyle than an elite athlete. In either case, neither person knows what their diet will do over the long term. It is still a safe conclusion the athlete has many more resources to stave off disease, if any, derived from diet. The athlete has a distinct advantage given athletic performance is an extreme privilege usually associated with a higher success rate for health and longevity. The truck driver has a different challenge that must be assessed on an individual basis: NOT a one size fits all approach.

    2. Diet should also include other factors that create an overall picture of health. Exercise, metabolism, sleep, stress along with other things work hand in hand with diet. This should also include food sources, as this video covers, that further contribute to one’s health. The less processed a food the more it will retain vitamins, minerals, fiber and other beneficial nutritional factors. Again, let’s not side step the underlying theory: I believe people need to find what works for them, their lifestyle and their body. This challenge is more like chess than checkers.

  • Obesity is a major killer. So a big fatso should be less concerned about lectins and more concerned with how much he eats. Cooking removes lectins. Eat less live longer. Cheers Gray

  • Didn’t Dr. Kepner founder of the rice diet pretty much prove white rice was ok? Honey has white rice beat for shelf live, I think it last 5000 years and still good.

  • You talk so much shit bout rice, i eat rice every fucking day, two fucking cups and popping a 6 pack and strong as fuck, my main source of energy is white jazmin rice so shut the up you roided out loser Greg

  • I can only eat white rice, brown rice tend’s to make my stomach feel like it’s being poked by hard brown rice plus it takes forever to cook whereas white rice is fast food.

  • To get the levels of gamma oryzanol achieved in the strength study, you would only need to take 3 tablespoons of rice bran oil daily:
    https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/jos/58/10/58_10_511/_pdf

  • Word of warning on Lentils, these can triggers inflammation due to Lectins. I used to get serious pain in my shoulder area and chest. It was only by eliminating food from my diet and discovering what was triggering the pain that I discovered it was Lentils and Aduki beans. Research into lentils confimed this.

  • I don’t like to eat seafood but I like fishing I just came to get all the information and to start taking the suppliments and vitamins

  • The problem is also cocking time. While most white rice I buy is done in 10-12 minutes, the brown rice (at least the one I have access to) was still hard after 30 minutes.

  • Okay does anyone know a good source for the colorful rice options that’s not high in arsenic? Nutritionfacts.org has several videos warning about rice and arsenic and then there’s this! So where oh where can I purchase this colorful rice that is safe

  • hey Dr. Greger! I have a question for you. Are low HDL levels actually bad? I am vegan, eat lots of raw food with some cooked food, no processed food, no table salt only himilayan, mostly organic, etc but have low HDL levels. thanks in advance

  • For vegans watching this and wondering if you can combine it with a keto diet, the answer is YES. We can still maintain an alkaline diet full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory foods such as:

    tempeh (1 cup = 31g protein)

    miso (1 cup = 32g protein)

    roasted soybeans (1 cup = 60g protein)

veggie burgers/patties (recommend The Beyond Burger 21g, The Alpha Burger 20g, Dr. Prager’s beet burger 19g, chicken patties/strips, turkey patties, fish-fillet, meatballs, crab-cakes etc)

mushrooms based meats (whole, mock burgers, mock steaks, mock ground beef, mock fajitas)

    vegenaise (soy-free vegenaise if allergic)

    avocados (whole, oil)

    olives (whole, oil)

    coconuts (whole, oil)

    ground flaxseeds (whole, oil)

alternatives milks (soy, hemp, almond, cashew, coconut, hazelnut) no rice or multigrain.

nutbutters/cheeses (cocoa, peanut, shea butter no jam)

    Nutritional yeast

    chickpeas (including humus)

    all leafy greens

    zucchini

    cucumber

    broccoli

    nut/seeds
