  • Been on a weight loss journey for about seven months, with a 2.5 month hiatus at the beginning of the year. I didn’t change anything that I eat, except cutting out soda and sugary drinks. I just eat 1500 calories a day, dropping from 245 to 223 in just under 5 months.   • I dont have a problem with my weight. I feel like I look fine physically I wouldn’t mind gaining weight etc I feel fine with the way I look and how my body could change. Unfortunately I have a very hard time eating. I was very really a picky eater growing up and now for some reason I feel sick everytime I eat or think about eating. I know I have bad anxiety. Even some people have noticed that I have lost weight and it’s sad because there is nothing wrong with my body image. It’s a problem I have with eating. Rejection of food inside my refrigerator or rejecting my closet wear. I choose to reject myself and have myself a very unhappy little time.   • Best way eat whatever you like, but keep that body moving! Don’t just stay at home for long hours. Especially in the summer. Sleeping at open window helps a lot, because it makes your body work on most of the energy you have consumed.

  • Eating right before bed unfortunately is counter to the chrononutrition information we have stating that ‘eating’ is as potent a wake up signal to the body as sunlight. This means that eating right before sleeping results in poor quality sleep (reduced deep sleep), which as I understand it is the most important part of sleep for recovery.   • Hey Jeremy, I’ve started lifting weights joined the gym, set my goal to have a fat to ripped body transformation. But I have weakness such as when I’m working on my biceps my left hand or should I stay shoulder starts to lift up when lifting the dumbbells working on biceps. I don’t know how to stop this and improve my left hand so when I’m doing dumbbell curls my left hand which is weak and it by it self starts to lift my arm up to get helps and do the curl.   • Yeah, I used to be fan of these fad internet diet meal plans. Until I learned that you stop eating crap, stop making yourself hungry, just eat enough healthy meals to meet your required calorie intake whether it’s losing weight or gaining weight. I actually eat 6 times a meal.

  • Eating right before bed unfortunately is counter to the chrononutrition information we have stating that ‘eating’ is as potent a wake up signal to the body as sunlight. This means that eating right before sleeping results in poor quality sleep (reduced deep sleep), which as I understand it is the most important part of sleep for recovery. Wouldn’t this mean that the protein would not be converted to muscle mass?

    What kind of effect would I get with just fish oil supplements (side from obviously no protein)?

    I’m overseas, and there is definitely no salmon for a very very long way. I do have access to great protein sources and food, but seafood here is…questionable.

  • Idk if i have Ed or not. I mean i do restrict myself taking calories. I keep count and eat only less than 1000 and i do exercise alot, i have never done it before but now i walk for a hour or 2.

  • You lost me on soda being “medium”, not when the average can of 12 oz soda has 39 grams of sugar in it. And let’s not forget it’s glycemic load (which a more accurate indicator of the effect food has on blood sugar level) of 20, which puts in in “high” category, and that’s for a can less than 12 oz. Spiking blood glucose is not good for weight loss, period. Concentrated sweets, and added sugars gotta go.

  • I’ve started getting a more sudden interest in water. And every time I eat a big portion of food I feel guilty. It was so sudden. It hit me like a train.     Prioritize having more highly satiating foods.
    Incorporate more high volume, low calorie foods
    Consume a protein source within every main meal (ideally 0.4g/kg bodyweight)

    Example meal:
    Oats (high volume, low calories) + whey powder (protein) + strawberries (high volume, low calories).

  • I don’t know, when i eat more slow carbs i tend to eat more. Keto works best for me. Its hard the first days but after that i see the best results

  • The book is brilliant! I have had fatigue for years. My Naturopath did a cortisol test and found that I have adrenal fatigue. This quiz in the book is fantastic and allowed me to determine at what stage of adrenal fatigue I am. I have adjusted my diet according to the book I am looking forward to getting back to normal and to the ‘thriving’ stage. The book is worth its weight in Gold!

  • The only real way to loose weight is the good ol’ fashioned one. Count calories! People don’t stay on low carb. high protein diets, it gets old. The minute you add carbs. back is the minute you start gaining again. The transition is almost impossible. When you count calories, you can eat all most anything as long as you add that back into your daily calorie count. This way, if you crave a piece of bread, or even a candy bar you can have it as long as you count it. Once you loose, then you can easily transition into a higher calorie diet.

I hate that I care about my weight/body so much but it’s just such a struggle especially because my metabolism is so slow that even if I do just eat a little something it’s like I either gain weight or my weight just stays the same.   • I think what makes it worse in modern asian cooking compares to traditional is mixing fat with carbs. This makes it very palatable and is worse than just high carb. So low carb is better, but no fat is not entirely wrong also.

  • My friends keep telling me I have an eating disorder so I’m trying to look into it and prove I don’t but then I related to most of this. The thing is I’m medically overweight, my doctor has told me I need to lose weight so honestly if I do have an eating disorder it’s for the best, I’ve lost ten pounds and counting!   • Guys, losing weight doesn’t need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan called Custokebon Secrets. Seriously, that program has transformed my entire life. I probably shouldn’t even be mentioning it because I don’t want a bunch of other guys out there running the same “game” but whatever, I am just in a great mood today so I will share the wealth haha.

    As a child I was overweight and my Dad would humiliate and mock me over it (surprisingly my peers didn’t really seem to care when I think back to that time)

    As a teenager I lost over 80 pounds (I only needed to lose about 35 to be at a healthy weight) and my weight loss became an addiction.

    My dad thought I was doing drugs and wouldn’t believe I was actually obsessed with being skinny despite my sister confirming my story

    Later when I left home to live on my own life became almost unbearable and I ended up turning to food gaining about 40 pounds and when I went broke and had to move back in with my parents lost over 50 becoming dangerously underweight

    After I got married to escape home I put on about a 100 pounds and am stuck in a toxic relationship

    Now I’m doing drugs and lost about 30 pounds so far and am trying to quit

    I think a lot of my problems come from relying on others but every time I take charge of my life and try to be independent I end up falling flat on my face

  • Carbs are good! This lady doesn’t know what the heck she is talking about! Every fruit has the correct amount of fiber to properly utilize the sugars found within that fruit. Amino acids (proteins) cause the body to grow larger. Further more, hundreds if not thousands of studies have shown that a whole food plant based diet helps reduce weight and chronic illness in a majority of participants.

  • My morning nausea that is also frequent through out the day has brought me here, doctors thought I had hyperthyroid those tests came negative, then I was put in a hospital for like 4 days for ‘monitoring’, they took so much blood from me I had to be (Dare I say) ‘dripped’ then more scans. Everything clean as a new pin. My mother started talking about me having a bipolar disorder (I haven’t been able to look at her straight since) and my dad looks at me like some strange person. I have been exercising like for 1.5hrs thrice weekly, currently in college and trying to earn a living cause home ain’t conducive anymore -Normal early twenties life.
