Can you share some background on yeast infections, what the Candida Diet entails. If you feel that you have an unbalanced diet and eat too many acidic forming foods, like processed meat, conventional dairy, refined sugar, prescription medications and alcohol, and not enough alkaline foods, like fruits and vegetables, then take a look at this list and see if you can increase your alkaline intake. 1.   • This is not “keto”. There is no way to stay in even a “mild” ketosis eating complex carbs and lentils. Sour brain will be running on glucose. I’m not saying that this diet or any diet where you don’t eat processed foods is a bad diet. But it sure ain’t keto.

  • Costco sells a power greens mix of kale, spinach and swiss chard. We
    poke the bag of greens with small holes using an ice pick and press all
    the air out of the bag. Then we put the deflated bag of greens in the
    freezer under our 20-lb. bag of ice or something else heavy for 24
    hours. When frozen, we pull the greens bag out of the freezer and gently
    crush it to a powder, taking care not to break the bag. (That’s why you
    want to make small holes). Then pour the frozen green powder into a
    gallon zip lock freezer bag. You now have fresh power greens powder to
    add to any meal or smoothie you desire. The greens never get slimy and
    they disappear into what ever you’re making.

  • Guys, losing weight doesn’t need to be difficult (I used to think it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan known as Custokebon Secrets. Seriously, that diet plan has transformed my life. I probably should not even be mentioning it because I don’t want a bunch of other guys out there running the same “game” but whatever, I am just in a great mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.

  • At 44 secs you say plants do not have all 8 essential amino acids and at 58secs you say plants have all 8in varying amounts. Are you confused?

  • Omit the dairy for better skin, sugar is not the main cause if it even is the cause….Also, fuel the muscles with carbohydrate pre and post workout… Check your research before advising…..

  • I’m struggling to go full vegan! I really like fish (I try to only buy sustainable fish and being in Switzerland, fish is super expensive so I eat perhaps once every two weeks) and I’ve tried and actuallly enjoyed insect protein based recipes! I’ll get there… eventually!:D

  • She is 100% wrong, carbs are not healthy at all, in fact the only macro nutrient that is not essential. The only 2 essential nutrients are protein and fatty acids… People that follow poor eating advice like this are overweight and experiencing metabolic syndrome. If these high carb low protein diets were so healthy then why the incidence of diabetes nowadays is 11% and 1/2 adults in the USA experience metabolic syndrome.

  • Doctors are the worst healthcare hacks to go to most are at most C average students that think they know everything and were never taught to think outside the box plus they don’t often follow their own advice and when they do they might realize that it would fail anyway because they were taught fairy tales in Medical Schools if it weren’t for Nurses Doctors would kill more people than they already do. The over writing of prescriptions for Antibiotics and Steroids is usually responsible for Gut problems which lead to many other problems including most if not many metabolic syndrome or worse. You’re towing the same line but I think you know better but you’d lose your license because the AMA is about profit / keeping people addicted to their pills/procedures rather than healing the actual patient.

  • Spinach and peppers cause inflammation, they are of no benefit. And skinless chicken breast, that has to be the worst cut possible. A person with inflammation needs the fatty meat they can get.

  • And Eeww! is a quick wipe enough to wash salmonella off your hands!!?? This is so wrong on so many levels. The dish might be tasty if cooked longer (cooked gently for about 10mins each side) but from what I’ve learned so far, he’s using all foods from the belladonna food group which are all likely to increase an inflammatory response in your body.

  • Sorry guys, but take this video with caution. When they say that they can “reverse brain shrinkage to make it bigger again”, that’s a HUGE lie! I do scientific research on Alzheimer’s for more than 10 years and neither my colleagues (experts in brain imaging), nor I have seen any serious scientific study that showed the reversing of brain shrinkage to date. Yes, diet can help, but it needs to be adapted to each person and started before the real dementia starts. Plus, it must be combined with other life style changes. Diet alone won’t be efficient. Sad to see people trying to sell fake hopes to desperate patients!!!

  • I’m glad more people are talking about gut health. 10 years ago I started having digestion issues when I was only 14. Doctors were quick to call it IBS and prescribe me laxatives. I have such a negative stigma attached to doctors, even GI doctors, because they just didn’t care. Maybe it’s different now, but it seemed like my issues were insignificant because they weren’t life-threatening. A lot of instafamous professionals say “get to the root cause” but in my experience doctors just want to put a bandaid on your problems. I’m still dealing with the same issues even though I’m vegan, but after watching this, I’m gonna eat a bunch of potatoes lol.

    What can I do to manage my reflux that I experience due to my haital hernia? I’ve been taking PPI’s for years now, and even though I know the cause of my reflux, I still feel at a loss! My doctor actually said my hernia is so small that he advised that I don’t do the surgery to fix it, but I can continue taking the PPI’s to manage my reflux.   • Funny how the guest mentions fats ( healthy ). I’ve long suspected that healthy fats are an important component in the plant based diet yet there are Vegan doctors out there ( John Mcdougall, Caldwell Esseltyne, Jeff Novick) who are very anti fat including plant fats. You can see why there is so much confusion on this topic.

  • I don’t have a pancreas but worse my intestines twisted and I lost 18 inches of my small intestines and dr said no gluten and no roughage. I’m eating gluten free but still bloated and feel horrible… I also miss vegetables.. I wish I knew what to eat. Is there a list anywhere?   • I am allergic to coconut. At first it was the protein part only, like Coconut milk or flakes. But now I react (trouble swallowing) to oil as well. Coconut oil is in everything now! I can barely find an ice cream that has chocolate in it, that doesn’t use coconut oil. Chocolate bars are also now using it. What about people like me?!?

  • The idea that protein creates an acid environment and therefore leeches calcium from bones has been overturned by better evidence. Also, vegans/vegetarians don’t have better bone health.

  • strange, I thought the video was going to say something about how bread has made people bored of most foods as a vegan. This was informative knowing its a diet to apply but not continue for just attempting to regulate unexpected growth of body organisms, typing this on youtube search and seeing the result show up like fad diets to shill ebooks on reminded me of

Because of my knee pain I thought I have calcium deficiency so I started to drink cow milk more and more which worsened the situation. And also severe acne appeared in my face and in my back because of dairy. So, to cure acne, I had no other choice but to stop consuming dairy. And now my acne and knee pain both are gone.   • Bredesen protocol almost exactly the OPPOSITE of what dieticians have prescribed in the past. Yeah, there’s overlap with some veggies but the Bredesen emphasis is on KETOSIS which is low carb AND FATS. Dieticians have been all about high carbs and low fats.

  • This was informative and she is a lovely and intelligent woman. As a “grammar nazi” noticing the common English mistakes of the younger generations and in the spirit of wanting her (especially as a sister) to sound her best:
    *fewer (not “less”) calories (they are countable = fewer)
    *Et cetera has no “k” in it
    *lower in volume (not “less in volume”)
    *don’t pronounce the “l” in salmon (at least not in American English)

  • Nice video but this should apply to everyone for overall health and not just Alzheimer prevention. Unfortunately, this kind of eating is expensive and takes much more time to prepare as for many often it is just easier to buy a ready-made processed meal. But then again, spend the time and money to be healthy is a lot better than spending the time and money on doctor visits and medicines. I think the jury is still out on a plant-based diet being the solution. I think there are just as many out there pushing for a high fat meat-based diet. But either way, HFCS, simple sugars and processed foods should definitely be reduced, if not removed and work for a balanced diet without grains. Two POVs to consider, Robert Lustig & Mark Sisson.

  • Most doctors usually push pills. It was frustrating at first, but if you think about it, that’s what they know… medicine and diagnosing. I’ve found that most of my injuries or ailments were better treated by other more specific healthcare providers like Therapists and Dietitians.

  • Ppl have been eating grains nd dairy for ages in fact that was all that was available to them they lived longer nd healthier than us. The main thing is to maintain a balance in everything. Don’t over do anything. Live with ‘moderation. A simple but a full life.

  • I missed the mention of small animals kidneys, liver, harts, Glands… I know there is a vegetarian wave that makes it not “politically correct” to talk about this but the facts are there to check. Most vitamins are fat soluble, not water. This animal parts contain huge quantities or vitamins and minerals surrounded by fat. They used to be part of our diets and were included in everyone’s daily cooking. Make sure they come from grass fed animals and small, if possible, to make sure they have not been vaccinated or medicated in any way (a cow is a costly animal to loose but a lamb or a chicken are not therefore there is no need to spend extra money on preventing an illness)

  • Oils and fats are highly processed foods, so no wonder they are considered bad. But fats naturally contained in plant foods, in moderation and if you’re not suffering from heart disease, are more conducive to a good balanced diet. I’m confused about the fish thing and this constant necessity to eat the rainbow?! That can make things expensive and complicated for most and so much more confusing than whole plant based foods with no added oil. Butyrate comes from the result of eating plant fibre and omega essential oils are much better taken in their parental form LA and ALA, rather than as the non essential EPA/DHA If these are not already rancid before they enter the body, they definitely are as soon as they are ingested. They’re fine in very cold deep water fish, but not at 37 degrees centigrade. The brain is flooded with a super high dose of rancid oil that it has to deal with. Plus, it only requires DHA in very small amounts. Anthropologists link the huge growth in human brains at around 800,000 years ago to the further development of our amylase enzymes and cooking tubers. The brain is a massive glucose consumer, which is it’s preferred source of energy and widely available. I also don’t get the hour of exercise a day, plus being active…necessary if you’re tanking a lot of calories from oil, but is that sustainable and safe? Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not an expert and this is just my point of view. I’m a 57 year old plant based male and have followed this way of eating for around 7 years after doing a year of 5:2 fasting. Which was great, but unsustainable for me at the time as I was cycling to work each day and kept forgetting to eat enough on the feast days. I’m a big fan of this channel and thanks for a really interesting interview!

  • Since joining my nutrition program (on the path to become a dietitian myself!) I’ve learned that most dietitians agree will this. Really, there’s not much to disagree on. All long as you are able to consume your vitamins and minerals, and enough calories (which isn’t THAT hard) you’ll do great! Your body may go through a transitional state, especially bloating, if you change your diet suddenly. You’ll adjust within a few months, and it’ll all feel totally worth it!

  • well thats where shes totally wrong… keto is a long term lifestyle and keto its the same thing as the candida diet. it should be long term especially if you dont want it to come back, a whole new way of eating and thinking about food, of course it should be long term!! if you care more about health more than unhealthy cravings then long term is the way, unless you want candida back, when it comes back when you get rid of it, it comes back harder and stronger. people who do long term high fat low carb are healthier stronger dont suffer from things like candida, have mental clarity, look young, so many reasons for long term high fat low carb. candida lives off of sugar so if you take the sugar out it starves
