However, in order to more easily digest and fully reap the nutritional benefits of almonds, we need to put them into conditions that make them start their sprouting process.

If you’re nuts about choosing to eat almonds every day, you’re not alone. Citing an article originally published in The Washington Post, Salon named almonds America’s No. 1 nut in 2014. Between 2005 and 2014, per capita almond consumption rose a staggering 220 percent, hitting more than two pounds per person annually. Eating almonds the wrong way could actually harm your digestion.

Eating them the right way allows your body to reap the benefits of this concentrated power food. One of the most nutritious of all nuts, almonds are a delicious source of protein, fiber, vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6. Eating too many almonds can cause toxicity buildup. This is especially true if you eat bitter almonds because they contain a poisonous compound called hydrocyanic acid.

When eaten in moderation, bitter almonds help cure itch, spasms, and pain. Eating 20 almonds per day will reach you about 1/5 of the recommended daily allowance. (Get the rest from foods like beef, eggs, avocados, milk, and spinach.) Vitamin E is an antioxidant that can improve heart health and support the immune system not to mention the smooth skin and shiny hair you. Scientists still don’t know all the reasons why some of the almonds go bad.

But they do know that if there’s too much moisture from rain or irrigation one season and an almond doesn’t dry properly, the inside of the nut is damaged. The almonds, which don’t pose a health risk, can taste bitter after they’re roasted. These affect the functioning of your vital organs and can result in mood swings, too much stress, dull and damaged hair, unhealthy skin and much more. Hence, it is necessary for you to flush out the unnecessary toxins from your body. If you wish to get rid.

Almonds contain lots of healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. The health benefits of almonds include lower blood sugar levels, reduced blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels.   • I would do the cupcake one as a kid( but I just ripped the cupcake in half. Cutting it seems like extra work) because I had a tiny mouth so if I wanted icing with the whole cupcake I had to do this. It makes the cupcake smaller. It’s just a hack for people with small mouths. I don’t know why you got such a big mess. I usually never got a mess. The orange hack seems like the most messy and effort way to eat an orange. Cutting an orange into slices would be much quicker and less effort and peeling would be way less messy. It just looks super cool.

  • Question about almonds. I think the almonds avaialable here in Thailand ate somewhat smaller than those I was used to in the USA. Does this difference in size make a difference in the therapeutic prooerties of the almonds. How many of these smaller almonds should I eat daily. Also you recommend snacking on almonds during the day. I’m not into snacking at all and I put 20 almonds and 5 walnuts in my muesli everyday. Does that make any difference?

  • Just be careful peeps I know it’s extremely rare, but it’s happened before. a raw unshelled brazil nut has about 100mcg of selenium…. The symptoms of mild selenium poisoning are hair loss, fatigue, neurological damage, gastrointestinal disorders, and garlic breath. Higher levels of selenium poisoning can result in liver cirrhosis, pulmonary edema and even death.
    Just dont over eat them Brazil nuts.

  • I bought Brazilian nuts to have as one of my daily snacks. Let me warn you.. do not eat more than about 6 Brazilian nuts a day because you will risk suffering from side effects due to high Selenium content. When I eat more than 6 i feel nauseous & fatigued for the whole day.
