  • Wow this is so misleading, 500 calories on fasting days? What the hell is that? Not fasting at all is what that is! You get no health benefits if you consume any calories….duh.   • Misses the entire point of why AF is effective. It’s the affects AFTER you have lost the weight that it helps, not during the diet per se. It doesn’t screw your metabolism up the way just cutting calories does (which causes the weight to pile back on after you have lost the weight, and it helps control insulin spikes.

    WRONG. These are the people it is suited for! I snack a hell of a lot, and can’t diet normally because I keep opening the fridge every 5 minutes. If I tell myself “I will NOT eat today, I will eat tomorrow, no exceptions” then I put my brain and body in preparation of not needing any will power to stick to it, because I have made 1 single decision, and then not thought about food for the rest of the day.
    I know it is possible to do it because I was once very ill and went a week with no food and hardly any sleep after food poisoning. When I got better I weirdly had lots of energy.

  • Oh boy, we really need Dr. Fung in the comment section, no: on GMA actually, so that they can get their facts straight. This whole thing was screaming „omg, only 400 calories, people are possibly gonna die!“. So wrong. How did our ancestors do it? They had to fast regularly because there weren’t any snacks around to nibble on when the mammoth was eaten up and you hadn’t caught another one yet. Our bodies know how to fast, we just have to let them do it!

  • Im so glad to see all the comments defending fasting. Ive found of anything its significantly easier to stick With ADF than any other diet. normal dieting and counting calories had me obsessing and thinking about it constantly and frankly all the prep and logging and counting had me so obsessed with food it was tourturand. It took so much mental energy and i was never satisfied with meals, it burned me out so much i could never stick more than a few days. ADF however Is so much more sustainable. Its so freeing to just. Not have to think about it.

  • Dry-fasting has been fantastic for me. I’ve been dry-fasting for over four years. I’ve never felt this good before. I quit alcohol, coffee, medicine. I am happier and more productive than ever.   • I dry fasted once for 2 days (almost a year ago now) and my knees’ and my hemorrhoids’ problems just disappeared for over a 6 months period after that dry fast. They eventually came back, but the intensity of the pain now is way much lower than before the fast. Now I am preparing myself through a series of intermittent fasting to make one more dry fast, but this time I’ll make it for a 3 day time period. This so called “doctor” works for Big Pharma and the last thing they want is people to become healthy and to stop buying their useless and dangerous chemicals they call medications.

  • I have seen incredible results with both dry and water fasting. I personally find dry fasting easier, I don’t seem to get as hungry and the healing of old wounds is unbelievable. It’s sad to see people with little or no knowledge of fasting out there warning against it. More people should know about fasting, it places the body in an optimal state for healing and many people have thrown away their prescription meds for good as a result. And oh ya, it’s free.

  • The human body just the same as with animals was not designed to eat every day! The stomach cannot digest food quickly it takes time and if you eat everyday it is working almost 24/7 and that is not good! Because when your stomach is working and creating acid some of that overabundance gets into your blood and tissues destroying your organs, heart, and circulatory system! The reason why people in poor countries do not suffer from heart disease, diabetes, high rates of Alzheimers and dementia, high blood pressure and all the other ailments that modern societies do. They suffer from parasites!

    Animals/pets too in modern society now suffer from diseases they never suffer from in the wild, dogs and cats now die from diabetes, heart disease, cancers, etc. simply because they eat too often! In the wild an animal would find food here and there and then go without for periods of time. In the past people didn’t have the abundance of food or the availability of food as they do now, and they also did not suffer from the high rates of cancers, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and brain tumors, etc. that plague societies now! Alternate day fasting can change all that as it gives out stomachs a break they so desperately need and that is when our immune systems kick-in and do their jobs to repair and correct any issues that otherwise lead us into illness.

    And this is a proven scientific and biological fact anyone can study, if you can get past the leftist propaganda that feeds corporate greed and the medical mafia establishments who only wish to keep us sick and a host of their parasite trillion dollar Pharmaceutical industry! They don’t cure people they only maintain their diseases for profit!

  • Citation for the study? I’ve read multiple studies that showed ADF did in fact improve cardiovascular health and helps prevent heart disease. Also, ADF is generally more sustainable when you do true ADF, and don’t eat any calories on your fasting days because it is easier to put eating off until tomorrow and not have to think about eating at all that day, than it is to get a taste of food and then force yourself to stop even though your brain is firing signals telling you to keep eating. ADF is one of the best methods for getting insulin under control as well because it teaches your body to run off your fat stores rather than glucose, and you don’t have as many I insulin spikes, and it reduces your risk/progression of insulin resistance. There are innumerable benefits not mentioned in this segment. Shame on them.

  • There’s no way in hell you can tell me you go 19 hours with out eating anything and don’t feel super hungry. Sounds like anorexia to me. Eat when you are hungry that’s how the body works best. Our body will ask us for food when it wants it.

  • My family members are big fans of Keto, but I prefer IF 18/6 because you don’t have to restrict carb intake. I eat healthy foods and include meat but I can also eat things like apples and bananas.

  • Still a little confused on how this works. I started 2 days ago, for the 16-8. I am getting mixed answers, so is it eat only 2 meals within the 8 hour window without snacks? Like for example I had a half of a roastbeef sandwich at noon, then had a muffin a few hours later, then a greek yogurt, and then ate the other half of my sandwich before 8 pm. Am I doing it wrong?
