  • What’s the blend for lead removal? I need to remove iron too. And what happens when I run let’s say phosphoric acid through it? Or a base? What comes out? Does it clean the carbon? Can a filter be revitalised in a low oxygen oven, burnig out all but carbon again?

  • Fran you inspire me every time I hear or see you you. You make me explore things that i might not have explored before. I am mixed blk/wht and I have been over weight and not has health conscious as i should be for a long time but because of you I have been doing research and finding things that work for me. I really want to live a long happy healthy life from the inside out because that’s where it starts right, from the inside!?:) I just want to thank you for your inspiration and encouragement you are a blessing to all of us. <3

  • I bought some teeth whitening charcoal and it completely messed up my teeth. It made them whiter at first but then (without using it again) I noticed a lot more pain in my teeth and now they are darker then they were before… just wanted to let y’all know

  • Activated charcoal is a great product for skincare. This video is quite helpful. I went through an article https://sitaimpex.com/news/activated-charcoal-and-its-relation-to-skincare-and-hair-care which describes a few real ideas of using activated charcoal for skincare and hair care. I have tried few of them and it worked for me. Anyone else tried any of these? I would like to know if it is working for others also.

  • Can someone tell me how to keep activated charcoal from being so messy. My tub was a chore trying to clean, its still not 100%.  I will NEVER put this in my tub ever again. If you use a plastic cup to drink it in water, it stains the cup. I have to use a steel wool to get it clean. Learned the hard way to use glass.  To open the container to brush your teeth leave black dust everywhere if you’re not careful and it also took the whiteness off my teeth that was lightened using coconut oil pulling. You made it look simple but I saw you didn’t show the blackness of your palm when you washed the fruit. And the charcoal was still on the fruit, it doesn’t wash off as easily shown in the video.  I couldn’t tell if it worked on my face because I was too bothered by the clean up from using it. This would only be a last resort/emergency use item for me. And that sucks because I hear its useful for many things.

  • I honestly never watched this video. I saw Andrea Lewis video and she spoke about you and the mask. I will definitely get some. I saw there is also the pill version and the toothbrush. I might just get the whole collection lol. Thank you

  • Well, I haven’t heard about using activated charcoal in food until this morning when Top Yummy uses it for black waffles in the caramel chocolate cake hacks video she uploaded this morning

  • Do you have a permanent retainer in your mouth? I tried a charcoal toothpaste a month ago but my retainer tasted metallic and then I was worried because it says don’t mix with silverware and my retainer is stainless steel. Do you know anything about if it’s bad for retainers? I couldn’t find info about it on the internet

  • Well i was woken up by intense bloating that only tripled in pain and it was mostly high up, close to my stomach. I couldn’t move and even staying still was uncomfortable. I remembered someone mentioning activated charcoal for bloating before and i knew i had some pills(in case of dog accidental toxin consuption.) Took bottle’s recommended dose of activated charcoal and 20min later, i could stand straight again. 40min now and i can move completely normally with only some discomfort/fullness in some areas. All i felt were a few “pressure release” spots in my abdomen. Still no gas, i feel like it is all accumulating to the bottom? But without pain.. I don’t know. After an hour, i will have some oatmeal.
(I checked on YouTube after the fact of taking the pills to see what i had just done to myself, not the best way to do research but i was desperate and couldn’t move at the time. All i can find is that it detoxes Everything out of you and that it has been used for gas but with little documentation to back it up. I might have some nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, In more serious cases, it can cause gastrointestinal blockages. Hopefully i won’t get that last one but everything else i can deal with. I couldn’t handle the extreme bloating. I only regret taking 2pills, i think one would have been sufficient.)
Update, about 1hr30min later used restroom with no problems. So far, I’m very happy. If i don’t update again, all went well.

    Hello!
This lame information. As usual some truth but mostly bs.
Activated charcoal is amazing for your health.
    Keep researching.
    Nothing to see here.

  • I’m back in 2020. Lol gotta get back on my activated charcoal game. I need a healthy way to detox my body. I know quarantine has led me to some bad habits!

  • you should probably apply it straight to your face instead of from your hands to your face to keep it from pulling impurities out of anything but your face.

  • This is a really useful and helpful video! I’ve been wanting to try out activated charcoal. Also a big fan of the podcast! ❤️❤️ thank you

  • my family uses activated charcoal in very small amounts when 1 household member catches a stomach virus. The rest of us take it and many many times we have avoided catching the bug. With 8 people in our home that’s a big deal.

  • Had the lovely experience as a young child of being given activated charcoal for the consumption of orange flavored St. Joseph’s aspirin. Orange flavor mmmmmm vs charcoal yuck!

  • Love this! Thanks to you Oil pulling has become my absolute fave. So I trust you whole heartedly and will be purchases some activated charcoal asap! haha. TFS Queen!

  • Well, I haven’t heard about using activated charcoal in food until this morning when Top Yummy uses it for black waffles in the caramel chocolate cake hacks video she uploaded this morning

  • Thanks for the helpful information. I use coconut oil everyday for oil pulling. Going to try the charcoal. I saw a few companies that make a toothpaste. After watching your video I will probably make my own. Glad it also worked for your health issues.

  • “harmful”…..
You ever read your own official medications and prescriptions saying side effects like bleeding out your ass, have rashes, seizures, convulsions and other things??? You act like a hired shill. Mainstream medicine is stupid and never promises you a cure EVER!

  • Great tips! Thank you! I use the charcoal daily to keep my teeth healthy, but I definitely want to incorporate it into my facial masks, etc. just a tip for audio because I found it a little distracting maybe have the music very low behind the entirety of the video while you speak. This way there isn’t a cut from the music to your voice back to music.

    Thank you again!

  • This activated charcoal does work but only use it once in a while like food poisoning and after over exercising to remove lactid acid and also removes uric acid. I used the stuff for years and it works great.Just keep it around for when you need it and use it when you need it.

  • so if I’m using two carbon filters that are rated for 100,000 gallons and I’m using 1 gallon per day, I should still replace it once every year?

  • Make sure you buy a good quality certified filter. There are loads of cheap junk filters in the market. I personally prefer products made in the US or Europe.

  • Aneccdataly, its a good backup when I forget to take a lactose supplement. I definately have to be careful with when I take it though. And I try to avoid taking it often.

  • Thank you so much for detail explanation on carbon filter. But how can we know carbon filter is exhausted??? I don’t know exact time to change carbon media. Please share your thoughts

  • The mask of the clay and charcoal works! It pulled out all of my blemishes. But why nobody told me that this stuff is hard to wash off and it stains EVERYTHING lol maybe I used a little too much idk but will try again next week

  • Yes activated charcoal can be used if you have gingivitis and if you buy it in the capsule form from eBay which I have done just open one and mix it with your toothpaste but you can use it every day especially if you have gums that are bleeding. The person who sponsors this site needs to do more homework before she post videos.

  • I had half of a table spoon in a 16 oz bottle of water and I have diarrhea horrible. I feel so sick and am on the toilet and not stopping. I’m very nauseous and have a heavy stool. Half a teaspoon is going to have you on the toilet for an hour within a couple hours after you take it

  • thanks for that. You’ve given me the motivation I needed to try natural products. I now no longer use any chemicals on my body. I just need to tackle the medication now. thanks again. X

  • Activated charcoal is a great product. One can use it in so many ways for so many reasons. I went through an article https://sitaimpex.com/news/activated-charcoal-and-its-relation-to-skincare-and-hair-care and then I started using it in my daily skincare routine. You have described all very well. Now people will know the benefits of activated charcoal and can use it as per their need.

  • Activated Charcoal has been used for Centuries. Look at the Chinese. Yes it has cons, but everything does. Hospitals use it for overdoses.

  • This is contradictory. Dosage amounts are the key. How can you so boldly state that it is in dough and other products as an additive BUT, BUT, BUT is therefore a contradiction because the Food Industry would then not allow it’s use whatsoever. If common sense was used this wouldn’t happen. I.e., consider… body mass index, health status, weight, age and pre-existing conditions. Too much of anything can have negative affects…even water genius.

  • I had always heard that charcoal was used to absorb poisons or toxins in the body. I went to get a bottle to keep in my fridge in case of need but, Publix was no longer carrying it which I thought was strange. I DO however, use a face scrub regularly that has active charcoal in it and have for years. I like your natural one better. I will give it a try if I can find the active charcoal capsules. Thanks Nicole!

  • Love iiiit!!! ive been using it for my face mask for the longest and its done so much good to my face, i actually recently posted a mini vid. Activated charcoal is good stuff! amazing!

  • Thank you so much for detail explanation on carbon filter. But how can we know carbon filter is exhausted??? I don’t know exact time to change carbon media. Please share your thoughts

  • I have a question.. There is a lot of different type of activated charcoal.. Well I looked it up and there is a lot of different names.. Do they all work the same?

  • Thanks for the info! Love your videos by the way:) have you heard of oil pulling? I’ve seen people make a mixture of coconut oil and charcoal and you just swish it around in your mouth instead of brushing your teeth with it. It’s supposed to whiten teeth and draw out toxins in your mouth and gums, etc. although it probably still doesn’t taste very good:P

  • Hey Fran,
Do you know if any of your followers have had an allergic reaction to the activator charcoal? I have sensitive skin and a tree nut allergy so I’m afraid that the coconut shells may cause a reaction…

  • The only thing i didnt like is the toothpaste u used.. u can actually make a natural toothpaste with charcoal and clay instead of the normal garbage i use it and its perfect

  • Activated Charcoal has been used for Centuries. Look at the Chinese. Yes it has cons, but everything does. Hospitals use it for overdoses.

  • Love the face scrub idea! I don’t dig the concept of ingesting it, because as you said, I use it in my hospital (I’m a nurse) to bind to ingested toxinsI feel like you run the risk of it binding to vitamins or minerals that you don’t want to get rid of. I’m all for using it topically though!

  • Great vid! Been using activated charcoal for years. Never thought about using it on my face. Only used it for brushing my teeth. Thanks!

  • Hey Fran! Do you still use this face mask? If so, how often? Love your videos, blog and The Friend Zone. I’ve even got my mom to subscribe to this channel

  • I’ve heard the same argument before. They tried to say distilled water took your nutrients, etc. away alsoproven to be disinformation. Tell your handlers to come up with some newer lies, will you? Boring…

  • I used 4 capsules nightly for 6 months to get rid of leaky gut. Had diarrhea within minutes of eating any food. Worked wonderful. Placed activated charcoal powder on panty liner and got rid of UTI. done this for a decade, pain gone instantly, works every time. Used a charcoal compress on a spider bite that had swollen to the size of an egg. Pain gone in minutes, inflammation gone within hours. Got rid of tooth abscess, brushed teeth, gums and tongue nightly with activated charcoal powder. No bad breath the next morning. This is the best medicine u can use. First thing i pack when I travel. Ps.I am 73 y.o.

  • Charcoal lowers the concentration of total lipids, cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood serum, liver, heart and brain. In one study on patients with high cholesterol, reported in August, 1986 in the British journal, The Lancet, two tablespoons (8 gms) of activated charcoal taken three times a day for four weeks, lowered total cholesterol 25%, lowered LDL cholesterol 41%, and doubled their HDL/LDL (high-density lipoprotein/low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol ratio. Kidney International Supplement (June 1978) demonstrated that activated charcoal is able to significantly reduce serum triglycerides (up to 76%) in severely hyperlipidemic patients, and suggested that “charcoal may find applicability in the management of azotemic diabetic and nephrotic hyperlipidemia.”
These findings were again confirmed in a Finnish study reported in the European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology in 1989. Seven patients were fed 4,8,16, or 32g of activated charcoal per day. “Serum total and LDL-cholesterol were decreased (maximum 29% and 41%, respectively) and the ratio of HDL/LDLcholesterol was increased (maximum 121%) by charcoal in a dose dependent manner.” In another study of ten patients with severe hypercholesterolaemia the effectiveness of activated charcoal was compared to cholestyramine (Questran®). Activated charcoal was found to lower total serum cholesterol, and raise the HDL/LDL ratio on a par with cholestyramine and also reduced serum triglycerides, whereas cholestyramine raised serum triglycerides!

  • Activated charcoal saved my life. I had terrible bug bites from a beach in DR after a rainy morning. The bites were super intense and itched severely. Drank activated charcoal and the toxins came right out my body around the bites. Im healing now and am super relieved.

  • This is very very important. Activated charcoal capsules used for internal detoxification can only and I stress only be taken for three days at a time and you would take it three times a day. Otherwise you will really damage your system so if you’re interested in this why don’t you Google Dr. ask and read what he says about activated Charcoal

  • I am glad to hear that activated charcoal is no longer standard care. I was treated in emerg many years ago due to an overdose of my medication (the dreaded Prozac). The problem is the overdose was ingested something like 8 hours prior to being taken to emerg and the doctor there could not pass a nasogastric tube up my nose and down my throat to do a lavage so he opted for having me drink…yes drink, activated charcoal. He told me that it would be like licking the bottom of a barbeque after a rain storm and that I had to just push through and drink it as quickly as I could. He shook my hand afterwards saying that I was the first patient that did not spew the immediate area and his white lab coat with black liquid but swallowed it all. I remember having to drink like an entire litre of the stuff. I still think that it was too late to do an intervention like that since the pills had been in my system for 8 hours. Would they not have been absorbed by my system by then?

  • Interesting, I hadn’t realized that activated charcoal was still used in any medical application, I had only read of historical use of it. On a side note, it does wonders for my aquarium filtration, and given it’s state when I change out my filters I cant help but wonder if it scrapes ( potentially harmfully ) the insides of the intestines.

  • Love this! Thanks to you Oil pulling has become my absolute fave. So I trust you whole heartedly and will be purchases some activated charcoal asap! haha. TFS Queen!

  • This is a really useful and helpful video! I’ve been wanting to try out activated charcoal. Also a big fan of the podcast! ❤️❤️ thank you

  • you should probably apply it straight to your face instead of from your hands to your face to keep it from pulling impurities out of anything but your face.

  • thanks for that. You’ve given me the motivation I needed to try natural products. I now no longer use any chemicals on my body. I just need to tackle the medication now. thanks again. X

  • Great vid! Been using activated charcoal for years. Never thought about using it on my face. Only used it for brushing my teeth. Thanks!

  • What’s the blend for lead removal? I need to remove iron too. And what happens when I run let’s say phosphoric acid through it? Or a base? What comes out? Does it clean the carbon? Can a filter be revitalised in a low oxygen oven, burnig out all but carbon again?

  • love this! but I was curious what your sources are for these tricks? I absolutely love holistic medicine but the skeptical and scientific side of me needs to know there’s also scientific testing or evidence to go along with what you’re claiming charcoal can do. Are there possible negative side effects?

  • Wonderful. You explained everything in the easiest way possible. I’m gonna change my 2 years old carbon filter asap. Thanks a lot.

  • I’ve heard the same argument before. They tried to say distilled water took your nutrients, etc. away alsoproven to be disinformation. Tell your handlers to come up with some newer lies, will you? Boring…

  • Funny, yet in 2019 people who’ve had a laparoscopy swears by its effectiveness in helping with post surgery gas that’s trapped in the body. This is in the capsule form of course.

  • i been using coconut Activated Charcoal for many years i love it also
Bentonite Clay & Diatomaceous Earth i use them daily. peace and

  • This activated charcoal does work but only use it once in a while like food poisoning and after over exercising to remove lactid acid and also removes uric acid. I used the stuff for years and it works great.Just keep it around for when you need it and use it when you need it.

  • Yes activated charcoal can be used if you have gingivitis and if you buy it in the capsule form from eBay which I have done just open one and mix it with your toothpaste but you can use it every day especially if you have gums that are bleeding. The person who sponsors this site needs to do more homework before she post videos.

  • The only thing i didnt like is the toothpaste u used.. u can actually make a natural toothpaste with charcoal and clay instead of the normal garbage i use it and its perfect

  • so if I’m using two carbon filters that are rated for 100,000 gallons and I’m using 1 gallon per day, I should still replace it once every year?

  • I have a question.. There is a lot of different type of activated charcoal.. Well I looked it up and there is a lot of different names.. Do they all work the same?

  • what’s activate chacoal? i have charcoal her a black powder but how do u know it’s activated. i mix mines with egg white and apply it on my face

  • This is very very important. Activated charcoal capsules used for internal detoxification can only and I stress only be taken for three days at a time and you would take it three times a day. Otherwise you will really damage your system so if you’re interested in this why don’t you Google Dr. ask and read what he says about activated Charcoal

  • Do you have a permanent retainer in your mouth? I tried a charcoal toothpaste a month ago but my retainer tasted metallic and then I was worried because it says don’t mix with silverware and my retainer is stainless steel. Do you know anything about if it’s bad for retainers? I couldn’t find info about it on the internet

  • Hey Fran! Do you still use this face mask? If so, how often? Love your videos, blog and The Friend Zone. I’ve even got my mom to subscribe to this channel

  • Activated charcoal saved my life. I had terrible bug bites from a beach in DR after a rainy morning. The bites were super intense and itched severely. Drank activated charcoal and the toxins came right out my body around the bites. Im healing now and am super relieved.

  • Activated Charcoal will soon go the same direction as the Hubbard Tanks and Croup Tents have gone!! OUT OF FAVOR COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aneccdataly, its a good backup when I forget to take a lactose supplement. I definately have to be careful with when I take it though. And I try to avoid taking it often.

  • I bought some teeth whitening charcoal and it completely messed up my teeth. It made them whiter at first but then (without using it again) I noticed a lot more pain in my teeth and now they are darker then they were before… just wanted to let y’all know

  • The mask of the clay and charcoal works! It pulled out all of my blemishes. But why nobody told me that this stuff is hard to wash off and it stains EVERYTHING lol maybe I used a little too much idk but will try again next week

  • This channel should be reported…they dont even warn you of side effects just all case to casw situation…none of this works exactly as they show
