  • Hi, thanks for the great information that you are providing. I have two questions: Number one: I have heard that spinach blocks the absortion of magnesium & potasiuum. Number two: can I use cucumbers for green smoothies? Also, I went shopping for frozen fruit and saw that it was very hign in sugar content.   • I only buy my avocados from Europe/South Africa and sometimes Israel. Those from Mexico/Peru are the worst avocados, almost always mouldy, or got black spotted flesh when you open them up.

  • They don’t mind illegality as long as they don’t happen in Europe, though they live a life of luxury compared to these people’s standards and wouldn’t care what happened in those countries that feed them just for survival. This isn’t sad, just the fact that most of the world is in for the luxury of the few of the world’s region. It won’t stop until all the world is a desert or concrete jungle, because forests are primitive, more mega cities they like to see that’s development, more of world’s historic forests chopped down for the survival of human kind. We’re on a path of our own demise and won’t end just for luxury of others it isn’t living for some, but pure luxury and crave.

  • Stopped eating salmon long time ago, as I’m not able to know for sure, if it’s wild or farmed.I will not eat farmed meet full of antibiotics and genetically modified grain feed.
    I eat seaweed and seeds for omegas instead.
    As for avocado, don’t eat everyday, but really like it and it’s a good source of vitamins and fat too.

  • I understand you want to show the negative impact of these markets in the local society, but displaying Mexico as a deadly country as it is shown in this documentary doesn’t help local buisnesses that mainly rely on turism either. Mexico is a beautiful country with an incredible culture and despite having corruption problems it is safe to visit, as long as you don’t go “off the beaten track”.

  • I believe if there are no employee rights in a country then the accidents are treated the same across industries.
    If the country does not have effective police/crime fight then whoever has money will be at risk.

  • There is one way of getting to know the source of such problems. Just like in the Avocado farms, the police and military are said to have participated in the kidnappings. The military has only one CiC in the nation. Same might be said of the Salmon business in Chile. Definitely someone at the helm is a shareholder. Similar problems we face back in Africa where leaders collude with China to exploit the resources, killing local industries, environment and livelihoods.

  • They’re growing the avocado so they can be sold for money, not so that the rest of the world can enjoy these food. They’re not charities. Essentially this documentary is suggesting it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the growers of these popular food does their work ethically.

  • I guess i just don’t get the documentaries. They are always so caught up with the message they are trying to give that, all the information to support the message seems like an exaggeration. For example how the divers think that the salmon chemicals cause the extinction of shelled fish and stuff. Instead of giving a subjective view on scientific matters, they could share the real research results and then it would be more creditable and these documentaries would be more reliable.

    What can I replace a banana with in my green smoothie? I enjoy eating bananas on their own but I’m unable to add them to smoothies without having a gag reflex.

  • I would probably disagree with a statement that protein powder isn’t needed. For someone who is working physically a lot, protein powder during the activity and day after is a lifesaver. If not added to the smoothie, the hunger is unbearable the next day. Here I am talking about someone on a raw vegan diet.

I was enjoying snacking on my walnuts directly from the shell and adding them to my smoothie until I came across videos that says we should SOAK nuts before consuming.
