  • Hi, thanks for the great information that you are providing. I have two questions: Number one: I have heard that spinach blocks the absortion of magnesium & potasiuum. Number two: can I use cucumbers for green smoothies? Also, I went shopping for frozen fruit and saw that it was very hign in sugar content. Therefore, I will use fresh fruit, except banana if I want to lose weight, maybe half a banana, not more. Thank you in advance for your help. FW

  • I only buy my avocados from Europe/South Africa and sometimes Israel. Those from Mexico/Peru are the worst avocados, almost always mouldy, or got black spotted flesh when you open them up.
Salmon only from Norway. Hmmmm my tummy is full of delicious foods nomnomnomnomnomnomnom

  • This is why Latinos with good intentions immigrate. And Americans don’t want them. It’s sad to just dream for a better life away from a gang-infested country.

  • This is a gold mine…I am so grateful for dis information. It’s ny 4th day of 40days green smoothie diet so the video came quit on time. I am already feeling great doing this for just 4 days so i am sure dat after 40days, there will be a great renewal. Nature is beautiful n too kind to humanity.

  • People think they’re eating healthy and they’re pumping salmon with all those antibiotics and feeding them whatever they want

  • Brazilian beef unites best of both worlds:
They burn the jungle to make room, then they feed the animals with over 500 times antibiotics.
    Good luck folks

  • They always say Millenials are killing this business or that business well the avocado business is booming due to Millenials and their toast

  • So amazing. Should have guessed about the pesticide issue. This kind of story and depth make DW unparalleled in reliable news coverage.

  • Why should we care? Both countries have governments and I believe these people’s lives would be much worse than now should there be no avocado and salmon production there to support their communities and provide them with workplaces even as shitty as they are now.

  • Thank you so much. I was wondering were to get accurate information on how to make optimally healthy smoothies for my three years old son. Please can I use celery n carrots as this isn’t a green leaf to make the smoothie?

  • They don’t mind illegality as long as they don’t happen in Europe, though they live a life of luxury compared to these people’s standards and wouldn’t care what happened in those countries that feed them just for survival. This isn’t sad, just the fact that most of the world is in for the luxury of the few of the world’s region. It won’t stop until all the world is a desert or concrete jungle, because forests are primitive, more mega cities they like to see that’s development, more of world’s historic forests chopped down for the survival of human kind. We’re on a path of our own demise and won’t end just for luxury of others it isn’t living for some, but pure luxury and crave.

  • Stopped eating salmon long time ago, as I’m not able to know for sure, if it’s wild or farmed.I will not eat farmed meet full of antibiotics and genetically modified grain feed.
I eat seaweed and seeds for omegas instead.
As for avocado, don’t eat everyday, but really like it and it’s a good source of vitamins and fat too.
Just wish wasn’t so expensive in UK

  • Very good idea for the farmers to fight back against the crooks instead of depending on the equally crooked and corrupt police organization.

  • Awesome. plz make a video on omega 3 FA, all details like classification, types sources, daily requirement etc. U r the best person for this.

  • I understand you want to show the negative impact of these markets in the local society, but displaying Mexico as a deadly country as it is shown in this documentary doesn’t help local buisnesses that mainly rely on turism either. Mexico is a beautiful country with an incredible culture and despite having corruption problems it is safe to visit, as long as you don’t go “off the beaten track”.

  • I believe if there are no employee rights in a country then the accidents are treated the same across industries.
If the country does not have effective police/crime fight then whoever has money will be at risk.

My question is are consumers really responsible for people getting hurt in these places? What is the other side of the coin? What opportunities have the local communities received? Only one side, only one correct way of thinking.

  • I blame the trendy Hipsters! You know who you are… How’s that Avocado and toast?! haha But in reality it’s very complicated, nothing wrong with eating healthy foods either! When it outgrows a sustainable level and healthy turns to harmful, this would usually show that there’s a large corporation involved or paying attention, at least.

Salmon Farms ARE BAD!! They need to move to land based pens immediately, how much evidence do we need?
    #stopeatingsalmon #savesalmon #westcoastbestcoast

  • Consumers in Europe are eating Norwegian salmon, never saw another kind here in Sweden. I was hoping to see how it works in Norway, they also use chemicals, but in smaller amounts.

  • Please don´t buy CHILEAN SALMON and AVOCADO, they are distroying our nature, polluting our sea, lakes and rivers. Boycott to this fucking industries,

  • Yeah I am a Brazilian and i have one thing to say: Mano, esses pesticida estão em todas as plantações. Não tem um lugar onde não tenha. Fiquem sabendo que tem também chumbo e outras coisas tóxicas no solo por conta das grandes empresas tanto de agro produtos quanto outras grandes companhias.

  • wow soybean use for food all farm animal and human, and population of that going grow and how much hectar monocultur soyben for meet that demand

  • Thank you so much for such invaluable information. I have hashimotos an auto immune and i am suffering with brain fogs, drowsiness, memory loss etc. I have recently cut out soy, milk, gluten, sugars and dairy and trying to eat better. Im trying to have my green smooties daily. Do you have any advice on what i can eat to improve my health with this condition? I feel like crap all the time.✋✋

  • All this is down to an incompetent government where the people have no trust in elected officials or simply, as a people, have no respect for the rule of law. And this is what marks the difference between the people of South America and Norway. It is sad and horrific still seeing human lives being lost for just profit and pure greed.

  • ””””Mexico is ruining it’s air and water, so the rest of the world can enjoy these fruits”””’
wrong, Mexico is cultivating these fruits to make money

  • My wife loves to eat avocado with salmon mixed up with a special type of sauce but they’re from a responsible local supplier not from questionable sources.

  • mexico is still the wild west. that is our government’s fault. in any case, these foods should be priced higher to compensate for the human labor and ecologic cost.

  • There is one way of getting to know the source of such problems. Just like in the Avocado farms, the police and military are said to have participated in the kidnappings. The military has only one CiC in the nation. Same might be said of the Salmon business in Chile. Definitely someone at the helm is a shareholder. Similar problems we face back in Africa where leaders collude with China to exploit the resources, killing local industries, environment and livelihoods.

  • They’re growing the avocado so they can be sold for money, not so that the rest of the world can enjoy these food. They’re not charities. Essentially this documentary is suggesting it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the growers of these popular food does their work ethically.

  • I guess i just don’t get the documentaries. They are always so caught up with the message they are trying to give that, all the information to support the message seems like an exaggeration. For example how the divers think that the salmon chemicals cause the extinction of shelled fish and stuff. Instead of giving a subjective view on scientific matters, they could share the real research results and then it would be more creditable and these documentaries would be more reliable.

  • Soooo much to learn. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share these supreme information.
What can I replace a banana with in my green smoothie? I enjoy eating bananas on their own but I’m unable to add them to smoothies without having a gag reflex.
I have tried this for many years, that banana taste mixed with fluids and other veggies makes me feel so unpleasant.

  • Thank you for this wonderful information. I am currently nauseated by these green smoothies currently. The spinach doesn’t cut it for me. I almost threw it up today. Kale is out of season. The smell of cabbage and cauliflower blended is offensive to me. What can help please.
Also what’s your take on drinking or eating only these greens for a long period of them in a bid to heal auto immune illness

  • Great educational documentary, this definitely reveals the fact behind the mass production of what we are consuming daily. I hope more people will start to change their habit consumption, but more important that It will begin firstly from myself.

  • I am sick about what happened to those kidnapped avocado farmers! You have got to know that they are dead! That poor mother and daughter will NEVER get their land back!

  • I would probably disagree with a statement that protein powder isn’t needed. For someone who is working physically a lot, protein powder during the activity and day after is a lifesaver. If not added to the smoothie, the hunger is unbearable the next day. Here I am talking about someone on a raw vegan diet.

  • I love fruits and fresh colors of the Smoothies, what’s more..they are healthy smoothies. Definitely a must try for fruit lovers

Biko, Winnie dear… how much did you buy the blender?

Plz, what has ice to do with smoothies… meanwhile, where did you get your apple juice from?

  • Love your videos thanks for sharing. NUTS. I was enjoying snacking on my walnuts directly from the shell and adding them to my smoothie until I came across videos that says we should SOAK nuts before consuming. I like things simple and soaking before consuming isn’t simple. My nuts are sitting there unused for months. Would love to hear your feedback, thanks.

  • Hi thank you for putting these information out. Very helpful. When you mentioned adding a whole fruit like orange, do I need to squeeze the juice out first?

  • Neither of which are food that i can’t usually have eaten in my life… But if salmon and avocados would be cheaperest food, i will buy these with my income

  • Can we add the stems of greens to the smoothies? Also if I don’t get fresh wheat grass or moringa leaves, can I use the powdered form available off the shelf?

  • Thank you so much for this eye-opening information!! This video is such valuable information for all who take health issues seriously. The Greek philosopher Hippocrates once said: ” Let thy food be your MEDICINE”!

  • I’ve already watched documentaries of avocado’s issues in Chile and Mexico, now I want to see Peru avocado’s issues documentary. Please DW expose them.

  • Salmon and avocado tastes really good together though. It’s a shame that both are “blood” products. I’ll just have to stop buying and contributing to this problem.

  • Hii Winnie… I love these recipes… They look so easy. How long does it take to preserve smoothies in case I wanna make it for a later time?

  • DW not fair. You try to anti palm-oil in Indonesia, Avocado inChili ect.Condem them that destroy forest. Why don’t you plant forest replace your agiculture areas in GERMANY if you want forest??

Have you ever tried with homemade iced tea or coffee instead of water? Also what is the best way to have quality water? Thank you again!

  • According to this documentary everything humans do is evil. We should just live like in the1800s. Is easy to criticize, but do you offer real solutions? People got to eat and live. Show me real answers.

  • Philips makes the best appliances I have been using a Philips blender for more 5 years without any issue and I use it to make smoothies, roughly grinned foods and it works perfectly well
