Yet, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only 8.9 percent of American adults eat enough vegetables. In winter, when salads are not as inviting as a warm comfort-food meal, you can get to the root of this deficit by adding some root veggies to your diet. These winter superfoods grow underground and absorb nutrients. Fennel is extremely high in vitamin C and in the immune system-boosting phytonutrient, anethole.

Cook fennel or eat it raw. Salmon. Oily fish, like salmon, are one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids which help to maintain a healthy heart. Salmon is also rich in vitamin D, which most of us lack during the winter months.

Yet, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only 8.9 percent of American adults eat enough vegetables. This doesn’t aid in a successful weight loss plan for adults. In winter, when salads are not as inviting as a warm comfort-food meal, you can get to the root of this deficit by adding some root veggies to your diet. At only 120 calories and zero grams of fat per serving, Persimmons are an excellent choice of winter’s superfoods. They are high in vitamin C and A and also contain cancer-fighting phytochemicals.

In addition to being sodium and cholesterol. Eating healthy can seem like a challenge in winter, with the absence of fresh fruits and vegetables and the cold weather encouraging cravings for baked goods and hearty fare. It’s important to look to goods that can be stored, including legumes, nuts, seeds, and frozen foods, to keep meals supercharged with nutrition.By combining shelf-stable foods with some hearty winter vegetables available. Some common superfoods are eggs, legumes, nuts and seeds, garlic and kefir. Winters are here and during this chilly weather we often get cold and cough.

However, some healthy foods can keep you. 3 of 8 Cranberries: Hundreds of years ago, cranberries were used as medicine as well as food by Native Americans. Their high levels of proanthocyanidins (PACs) helps prevent and treat urinary tract infections and regulate dental bacteria. Provided you eat them raw, cranberries are also a good source of vitamins C and E and fiber. Photo by John Greim/LightRocket via Getty Images.

15 Winter Superfoods You Should Already Be Eating of the daily value for vitamin C and more potassium than half a banana! Cranberries are a nutritional powerhouse. [Whether you eat. A 4:1 ratio would be ideal, but the modern American diet is more like 20:1.

That leads to inflammation, which can trigger weight gain. But while eating a serving of salmon every day isn’t exactly convenient, sprinkling these two seeds—among the most highly concentrated sources of omega-3s in the food world—into smoothies, salads, cereals. But adding more superfoods to your diet is a lot easier than you’d think. You don’t have to break the bank buying the latest super-grain to hit the shelves. You don’t have to get 90 percent of your meals from that trendy juice shop that opened downtown.

In fact, chances are you’re eating a whole bunch of seasonal superfoods already. A.

  • Im so glad I found your channel! I have not had a flare up in 10 years and I am lost as to what to eat during a flare up. Thank you so much for this video. Have a wonderful day!

  • I have been told by my Consultant that Avocado and Brown Bread are absolute No No’s Fish yes! So sorry not sure where she gets her Info, but according to my Consultant she is just so wrong about somethings. Don’t get me started if you have two things or more wrong because the advice would be terrible. Her recipes sound lovely BUT not for everyone.

  • Made my first ever meal prep today, it took a while but I have all my meals for the next five days. Loving the smoothie and the Buddha bowl just waiting for my dinner now of the sweet potato and salad

  • Thank you so much. I’ve found so much support from your channel it’s really brought back the joy of cooking for me. I am so enjoying making this beautiful nourishing food. Thank you for the difference you are making in my life.

  • Hi, this is my first time on your channel and I subscribed. The zucchini fritters recipe need to not include all the photos with the instructions. The salmon patty recipe is perfect, no photos so I can print it Thank you so much.

  • …BUT, if you have Diverticulosis, you’re not suppose to eat some berries because they are seeded AND If the seeds get stuck in the sack, it turns into Diverticulosis and is very painful, CORRECT!?

  • I notice a lot of people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets (just google search it). But Im not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried using this popular diet plan program?

  • Sounds wonderful. The only thing which is a no no is the tomatoes.

It is important that if you have an inflammatory problem you have to cut all the Deadly Nightshade fruits from your diet. These include potatoes, (sweet potatoes are not in this group so that’s fine) tomatoes, capsicum, chilli peppers and brinjals. These are all inflammatory; especially tomatoes and chilies.

But the rest sounds great. Thank you for this video.

  • That was very informativeI used all of those last summer and was healed of my stomach troubles. I continue to work on eating these weekly and have dropped in weight and reversed pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis

  • I’m 500+ POUNDS recording my weightloss journey on my channel and I really need to incorporate these in my foods to make my journey more efficient. Thanx for the great video!!

  • You are wrong about omega 3 there’s it cause oxidative stress in the body. Because once you heat it up in the pan or the body. It is no longer beneficial to you. It’s come from the cold water for a reason. Don’t buy in pill form it would be no good because of the heat.

  • I like you blog, good food, wholesome food, all the things I love. However you talk about your desserts, which I am sure are delicious. But… sugar is the worst thing for inflammation! SO unless you make only sugarless desserts…. it does not fit in the picture.

  • LOVE this! LOVE all of it. This is what I eat.

Only thing is, berries and avocados can get expensive, I usually get organic. For me berries have to be organic!

Does it matter if avocados are organic? They have a thick skin but I personally prefer them organic, they seem to look better especially on the inside (?).

When there’s a sale on any berries or avocados, I stock up!

Do you recommend freezing any of the berries? Like, if I buy a lot because there was a sale and I cant eat it all that week.

  • Great video.
    However.
Don’t tell people to talk to a doctor or a medically trained nutritionist about a healthy diet.
Neither has training in healthy nutrition.
The medical mafia doesn’t want us healthy.
    HEALTHY PEOPLE COST THEM MONEY!

  • All of that sauce on the baked salmon? Why not just wrapped w/lemon, olive oil, dill +rosemary?? The fresh avocado? Raw on the side. Overly elaborated recipes.

  • o.k. you got my attention this totaly looks doable im gonna buy the ingrediants and give it a go and see how my husband likes it. it all looks great. thanks for the inspiration. i will come back and let you know the results.

  • I’m newly diagnosed with autoimmune disease age 29. And still waiting to see the rheumatology department….. it’s hard to know what to eat so it’s not boring lol the avocado egg salad sparked my interest. I took a test in the past and tuna, banana, beef, chicken, algae, etc was on it. So may some healthy items but not good for me. Though its been a few years I need to retake the test. When the salmon was on the avocado I was like oh damn…haha -Anyways I need to find the anti-inflammatory avocado egg salad recipe.

  • Liver! How could you miss that? It’s loaded with all the iron and all the b12 you could ever need. It makes a great tasty meal sliced with bacon and onions and too many people give it to the pets. It’s the best part of the animal.

  • I worry that the smoothie isn’t going to be as filling. When I typically make a small smoothie I smear a nut-butter on toast to complement it.

  • I love you.. you are so inspiring, I’ve learned much from you and am very much grateful. Please continue with what you are doing… thank you.

  • OMG’ thank you, thank you from Australia.. i was about 295lb and riddled with Arthritis at 55yrs old, now 195lb and pretty much medication free. Just needed some help from someone smart as you to show me how too eat healthy! thanks again… Dave

  • Actually too much ginger can cause constipation & wind & flatulence common knowledge in traditional asian medicine. It has to be used in moderation. But i guess all food eaten in moderation & have a variety if one can afford it.

  • No eggs for me. So much cholesterol. I agree with the rest. Only wild caught salmon tho. Beware of mercury in fish! Eating a more plantbased diet is the way to go!

  • I really love your recipes and advice helping me kick start a healthier diet. My husband has high cholesterol and has been told to stay away from coconut oil. Just wondered what you think as i use it a lot in cooking?

  • Is Custokebon Secrets useful to lost crazy amounts of weight? I have learn a lot of good stuff about this popular lose weight method.

  • Dr I have a fatty liver. Recently I have pain in chest and back. Anything I eat my stomach bloats. I am on Ayurvedic medication. I have not taken any tests recently. Is Pomegranate good for me. Please advise

  • I’m back!!! Sorry for the long break as I’ve had lots of work travel over the last month. I hope you enjoy this new video and all the gems of knowledge on healthy, anti-inflammatory foods. Do you eat all of these foods? Which are your favorites? xo Lisa

  • This video is definitely wonderful! It helps me remember of the time when my sister used Custokebon Secrets to lose 18 pounds and enjoy being healthy again! Many people wish to lose fat, however we also require to remain healthy, and that’s what Custokebon Secrets given.

  • Good stuff! I consume all these except chia (flax is cheaper and has even more Omega3) and broccoli (tight budget) on regular basis. I also have at least 3 autoimmune disorders and manage chronic pain with diet. I would like to add some more inflammation-fighting SUPERSTARS that I eat every day… Turmeric (way better absorbed when combined with black pepper and E.V. olive oil [both of which also fight inflammation]). Hot peppers (capsaicin) is a powerful anti-inflatatory and painkiller by triggering hormone (dopamine, others) response, also makes the brain ‘run out’ of the pain hormone ‘Substance p’ from the intense burn. Your brain gets used to the heat as you work your way up from weak jalapenos all the way up to ghost peppers, Scorpion peppers and beyond! Several healthy fats like you mentioned, but also olive oil (same family as avocado but with other benefitsavocado can be cooked with, but NOT olive oil) E.V. organic unrefined coconut oil (a very unique energy giving and weight loss medium-chain saturated fat that can attach to excessive saturated fats and bacteria and flush them out!) Organic Green tea and onions are also very high in quercetina very powerful antiinflamatory, plus they both have numerous other different antioxidants. Diatomaceous Earth is a dirt-cheap fossilized mineral used as a natural parasite killer, but is criminally overlooked remedy mainly consisting of silicacrucial for collagen formation (the glue of new cells) in the bones, hair, skin, muscles, etc. Very effective for arthritis, muscle pain, wound healing, skin health, bone health, etc. Its also a very effective blood clotter (outside the body) in the event of a bleeding emergency. I used it to save my life when I lacerated an artery before the ambulance camewould’ve been too late! Its also antiviral and antimicrobial. I created a recipe (drink) that I make every day for an incredible energy, brain boost, anti-depressant, very effective antiinflamatory and pain killer, etc. but is not for the ‘faint of heart’ I call “Rocket Fuel”. It boosts you into another dimension and is very potent, but is remarkable for pain relief. Each ingredient works ‘synergistically’ with each other to create a powerful ‘fuel’ against inflammation, etc. Contains fresh garlic, ginger, 3-5 habanero peppers (or 1 ghost or scorpion pepper, or whatever based on my current or expected pain levelYOU start with much less hot [like cayenne] based upon your own heat tolerance and work your way up), turmeric, extra virgin olive oil, black pepper, Coenzyme Q10 powder, rosemary optional, raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar optional, and pure water in blender. No room to list every quantity, but reply if you’re interested. Side effects are few but may include slight stomach upset (based upon all the ‘heat’best combined with food), laxative effect, and weight loss. The latter two are good for most people, but any slight side affect is well worth the incredible benefits!

  • Do anyone know about Custokebon Secrets? Does it really work? I hear many people burn their fat with this popular fat burn diet plan.

  • Salmon is NOT healthy. Contaminated and polluted. Please read “Killer Fish” by Brian Clement. This is really important. People are getting sick from eating fish

  • Anybody tested out the Custokebon Secrets (just google it)? I have heard several amazing things about this popular weight loss methods.

  • Hi I am new to your group I love how you do a meal plan aside am a health care worker who needs meals already to go. I love the weight loss meal prep. I only have one question which is the best for salad dressing.

  • I eat at least 12 of these foods that’s on the list on a consistent basis. I stopped drinking process juices five years ago. I make my own watermelon, apple, and orange juice. I have a half glass of watermelon, blueberry, strawberry, apple juice everyday. My salad or cooked vegetables usually consist of: Beets, broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, purple cabbage, red, or orange bell peppers, spinach, and cauliflower. The combination of these vegetables in a salad are delicious. Make your on salad dressing of olive oil, honey, and lemon juice to bring out the flavors of the salad. Stir fry at least three of these vegetables together for the suggested daily veggie intake. This is an old childhood rhyme that’s true beans, beans are good for your heart. Pinto beans, lentils, brown rice, wheat pasta will complete your carbohydrate intake.

  • PLEASE provide recipes for those of us whose gut is so damaged we’ve become intolerant of, & suffer severe inflammation/pain/illness from almost ALL foods including half of the ones in ur recipes. Many ppl, like myself, can’t eat grains, eggs, nuts, seeds (spices, oils etc), onion/garlic, legumes, solanaceae (chili, tomato, potato, etc), as well as common food sensitivities of auto-immune sufferers (gluten, dairy, sugar, etc). Neither can many of us access wild-caught salmon, & cant eat toxic farmed salmon. Title them “Extreme Anti-inflammatory Recipes” or similar PLEASE!

  • To keep your teach white make sure when having dark foods such as berry smoothie to swirl your mouth with fresh water after, don’t brush your teeth you remove the enamel causing your teeth to be more yellow

  • Awesome video! Is there a particular nut that you’d recommend in place of almonds for both the energy balls and drink (due to allergy)? I know coconut milk is a typical almond milk replacement, but not sure if it’s the best recommendation and which nut is preferred next to almonds when used whole

  • So far I’ve made just the sweet potatoes and the salad & dressing. And wow I really liked it. I was nervous because I usually don’t care much for olives and raw onions. But this was good and I feel surprisingly full .
Looking forward to meal prepping the other meals

  • blueberries, oats, eggs, beans, kale, spinach and apple is pretty normal in my eating habits 😉 watermelon, salmon and avocado especially is very good, so i maybe need to invest in that 😉

  • Been on a Super Food Diet for three years; I don’t feel any difference in my health from making my cheeseburgers wear tiny capes before I eat them. Are they putting Kryptonite in the pesticides in the two grains of wheat now?

  • Turmeric is great, but it’s not for everyone to eat this everyday. For most ppl, that would be damaging for your liver and is safest to eat 2-3 times a week. When you do, add some pepper or chilies to absorb more of the nutrients.

  • I listened to this video before getting some groceries yesterday. I am a little nervous in the kitchen, so I try to focus on one recipe at a time. I made the sweet potato/quinoa (although I only had coucous). That dish was delish!!! Thank you so much for providing a simple and delicious recipe that this nervous-Nelly could follow. <3

  • I just finished making all these meals for the week. I can’t wait to start the week tomorrow. Thank you for the recipes and video. I’ve never done a meal prep before. It’s so easy once you get everything sorted. I am trying out this meal prep for health reasons so I’m very encouraged by all the positive feedback you have on this video. Thanks again

No Good. Heating food to that temperature Destroys It. No One should be eating High Heated foods!! Nearly EveryThing Ewe Mentioned Is Wrong. Garlic, onion, turmeric Are Poison. Stop Pushing CON Troll Freakmason Scripted Agendas and Misleading People. Be Honest.

  • chickpea in india is not considered as a good food n its not consumed a day later after cooking.. we eat a lot of pulses n grain so i will trust that info.. also it causes bloating n other gastro issues.. we dont eat it more than once a month like some special craving or occasion

  • “Superfoods” don’t have a real definition. Maximum amount of “nutrients”? What nutrients are all nutrients equal? Is it vitamins and minerals these have been shown to not have benefits unless a person is deficient. Are the nutrients antioxidants? Also shown not to have health benefits (see Vitamin E results: Neither vitamin E (HR, 1.07; 95% CI, 0.97–1.18; P=0.15) nor vitamin C (HR, 1.07; 95% CI, 0.97–1.18; P=0.16) had a significant effect on total mortality, but vitamin E was associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke (HR, 1.74; 95% CI, 1.04–2.91; P=0.036), https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2586922/ ). Is it the phytochemicals acting on biochemical pathways that promote health (the only theory that actually has evidence to bck it up) what phytochemicals in what amounts? What amounts…per gram, per gram per health effect, per gram per health effect per person? So this starts with a definition that is meaningless.

  • I have Endometriosis and surgery and medication are not working. I’ve wanted to try a more holistic approach and I think I’m gonna switch up my diet to this anti inflammatory one. I pray I get some relief

  • I`ve had eczema for nearly all of my entire life; just a couple reddish colored spots within the sides of my elbows as well as legs. If my very first few days of making use of it, I can see my skin area flakes. There is certainly no more irritation soon after testing this eczema guide. On the 4th day, I recognize that my very own cheek don`t have any flakiness as well as the section has fully remedied. I just researched Google to find this guidebook, it calls Kαmden Koladoz
    hope you get it

  • What is “quinoa”? I’m a bit reluctant to heat up an oven, and cook food in summer when I’m running an AC to cool the house at the same time. I recall cooking lentils. They taste like I would imagine cardboard would taste. Same experience with chick peas (Garbanzo beans) I still have a strong craving for hot-dogs and chips.
I learned somewhere that a micro-wave oven destroys the nutritional value of food, let alone the emitted radiation. I no longer use a micro-wave. BTW, They are banned in Russia.
I thought that we should avoid pasteurized homogenized and maybe GMO dairy milk. I switched to almond milk some time ago.

  • Anyone tried the Custokebon Secrets? I’ve heard many incredible things about it and my friend lost a ton of weight with Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine).

  • When considering eating healthy, you have to try not to fall victim to modern fad diet plans. While they might induce rapid loss of weight, these diet plans will never be a long-term answer for your weight problem. You should search Custokebon Secrets on google search engine since it is not just another fad diet where you starve yourself.

  • Hi there, great video up until you recommend garlic…garlic should only be used for healing ‘if’ you have any health issues. Garlic is actually poisonous to our digestive systems if eaten regularly. ‍♀️

  • Does Custokebon Secrets really work? I see a lot of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets. But Im not sure if it is good enough to lost lots of weight.

  • Does cooked food and salad lasts for 5 days in the fridge?? I was always told to use the 3 day rule, if not eaten within 3 days, throw it out. If it can be refrigerated for 5 days then omg with horror as to how much food I have thrown away:(

  • The human body is not designed to consume grains. Vegetables, lower Glycemic Fruits, healthy fats like butter, coconut oil and lard (yes, lard. Do not use oils) and small amounts of meat are the only things humans should consume. All else is not necessary and can be damaging to the body.

It is a smashing one off guide for eliminate your uterine fibroids minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my good mate called Gray finally got astronomical results with it.

  • Great info. It’s a no brainer that nature has the cure to every ailment we suffer. I got a firsthand experience when I was diagnosed of cancer in 2015. I tried everything possible to get rid of it, all to no avail. I almost lost hope when I came across Dr. Aliyu from a testimony I read online. He is a herbal specialist. He prepared a herbal medication which was very effective against the cancerous cells. Today I am cancer free and I have Dr. Aliyu to thank for saving my life. This may not be for you but anyone who wishes to reach out to Dr. Aliyu, he can be reached at perfectherballife(@)gmail(dot)com. I hope you find solution to any health challenge you suffer. All the best!

  • First off berries? Nuts? Eggs? That’s food, that’s what our ancestors ate for millennia you don’t need another word for it like “superfood”, that concept is totally made up. Secondly, humans evolved shorter intestines and therefore larger brains because of our accent from eating leafy greens which are plentiful but low in nutrients. Third, avocado, almonds, salmon, strawberries, seaweed, blueberries and olives are all cash crops of California and the only other thing besides tourism and IT keeping California’s economy together, not to mention the fact that everybody in California is a sleazy scumbag salesman capable of creating lies like “superfoods”. They get hellish landslides, floods and fires in California and though the sun is good there it is difficult to maintain profits as a farmer. Farmers are mostly rich scumbag people in case anyone doesn’t know that they probably have more money than most people’s elderly parents at least and Californians have always historically made money by attracting people there with promises of wealth and then taking what they brought so don’t think for a second that it’s not in the Californian culture to rip off a bunch of wannabes and sell them vegetables that aren’t that great for 10x the price, that’s just the California way of life. Don’t listen to this garbage you really just need to focus on getting fats in the morning drink coffee for your “superfood” vitamins because it has almost all of them and supplement by snacking on delicious berries and nuts throughout the day. Eat meat at lunch with less carbs than breakfast and tasty veggies for dinner with as much meat as you have exercised that day and therefore need and skip carbs entirely actually leaving your stomach about half full so that you aren’t digesting food just to sleep then make up for it with that nice starchy sweet breakfast again. Do this and you will easily approach the 90-year cliff, yes, there is a cliff you don’t live forever if you eat vegetables you just eat more fiber you are generally healthier and therefore slightly more likely not to die before the 90 year cliff. What I’m saying is that the foods you really need are all really delicious and pleasurable to eat that’s because your body tastes based on what it knows it needs like fats which is where energy comes from not water not fiber not vitamins. If you want to be thin all you really have to do is stop worrying so much about being full and you can literally eat whatever the fuck you want just stop trying to achieve comfort from food it’s not going to make you more comfortable it’s going to make you fat your body does that because it thinks you are preparing for winter that’s why it gets stored it’s not because being fat is a sad mean trick of life it’s just about eating at the right time and completely using the energy. All the foods that you can just find in the world are full of these amino acids it’s not complicated because everything that you can eat is made out of amino acids it’s just when you cook and bleach it into little squares of food it has lost a lot of them so honestly the trick to living as long as you can is to stop having so much anxiety just enjoy your life and let go of the need to feel full let go of the uselessness of that let go of the need to have comfort because you don’t need it, comfort is just doing something you have grown accustomed to it’s not a sign that things are going well or something worth achieving like most people think it is it’s really the opposite. Adversity creates strength comfort creates weakness

  • I am thinking of only eating fruits and veggies, i found out that a lot of the seafood that we purchase is probably fake i just made a video you can go to my channel and see it. It tasted like i was eating paper like i toke a bit of paper towel. I wish Dr.Oz would do a segment about possible fake foods because i feel that we need to be more aware about what to look for in seafood and meats.

  • You are trying to put the vast intelligence of the body in the framework of knowledge, (scientifically proven) which is so blatantly absurd. What and how much body needs, body knows how and from where to obtain it. Hunger has never been an issue for this body. It’s the greed to obtain so much as to save for future, but this physical organism lives moment to moment. It has not future, it’s one with time. You would be surprised to know how little body needs, and rest goes in making diseases. We aren’t dying of hunger, we are dying of diseases. It’s our superficiality over the intelligence of body that has given rise to all these havoc, be it of health or of environment, that we are confronting today because we ‘think’ that we are above and beyond Nature, and therein lie the excruciating fallacy. We are no bigger than an ant nor any smaller than sun. We all Exist in perfect harmony, interdependent. Stop laboring under the illusion of a self. There is no beyond, there IS. Death to knowledge!
