Eating two times a day is more than enough for adults and even better one a day…Eat less is an age old wisdom which is not good for today’s economy.

  • I did this for 5 days.blended my breakfast all greens. Blended veg soup and patatoe for thickness to feel fuller.no bread all liquids no caffeine wow was hard. Only drank water or herbal tea. I felt amazing after. Flat tummy. Skin glowing and energy to die for and so damn fresh minded. I felt fantastic. Must do it on a regular basis it’s been too long.

Surely the fertility treatment helped pack on the weight and the fact that I now eat 3’meals a day. P.s. I never eat cristalized sugar since pregnancy arrived. But always ready and willing to eat cake, pie etc (wth!?) My child is 21 now:-)

  • I lost 9 Kg in 2015 from 83 to 74 and 7 Kg in 2020 from 80 to 73 after practicing intermittent fasting (IF) during Holy month of Ramadan (29 or 30 days) without any side effect. I gained weight later because of some personal reasons specially due to my tight PhD schedule. Since we have to fast during the day from dawn to dusk while no compromise on job, first couple of days are really hard but later it comes into routine. It is important to break fast with lighter and less spicy stuff to protect your vital organs. Also, it is recommended to open fast again with non-spicy stuffs to avoid thirst during the day because we are not supposed to even drink during the day even if the temperature is above 45, as in India. I am not propagating my religion here but sharing my experience. Unfortunately, most Muslims end up eating too much and a spicy food at the break that works totally opposite. I preferred breaking it with water and fruits (+dates) and later after half an hour with some food (mostly meat or vegetables, or whatever my mum cooks). It is difficult to eat excessively after breaking fast with fruits and water inside an hour. Fasting is also helpful in digestion and I feel really really good during Ramadan. It also helps in a good and deep sleep, which I never have outside IF. It also helps in building stamina if one is looking for exercise. We shouldn’t eat excessive food to get things going but just enough to satisfy our desires. As per Prophet saying, stomach should be such that it is filled with one-third food, 1/3rd water, and the rest empty. So, all those who are looking for IF, go ahead. It will be tough for couple of days but if you are determined, the rest of the days will be easy and like regular. All the best.

  • I started adf in February 2020. I did 40:8. I lost 26 lbs in about 6 weeks and I ate whatever I wanted during my 8 hour window. Burgers, Krispy Kreme donuts, Anything I wanted. When the quarantine started I got off my plan and gained back over 20 lbs. I started adf again 2 weeks ago and I’m already down 11 lbs. I have to weigh myself in the morning, so hopefully I’ll be down even more. I’m going to stay away from a lot of the foods I ate the first time and try to eat healthier this time around, I don’t want every 8 hour window to consist of horrible foods lol. I will have a burger or donuts here and there because dammit I deserve it but not every 8 hour window. I feel If you do this correctly you should lose at least 5 lbs a week.

  • I started following a WFPB no oil about two years ago due to having researched nutrition as I had some chronic illnesses and was referred to cardiologist.   • While that may be 500 calories of yams, it’s also 2 days’ worth of carbs! He doesn’t say that a serving of pasta is tiny-about 1/8th what you get at a restaurant. (And that assumes no garlic bread with the meal.)

    Filling up on pasta puts your carbs through the roof, and the body thinks typical pasta is white sugar. This brings on diabetes, especially if it doesn’t include meat, or at least fat.

    Studies show we should never eat carbs alone. Always include protein or fat, or the pancreas and liver have to work hard to keep blood sugar stable.

  • This completely ignores the importance of protein, balancing blood sugar, and that fats are necessary in small amounts. Many of the nutrients in salad will not be absorbed without including some fat.

    Studies show that 1 lb of produce per day is beneficial (that’s like 2 cups greens + 2 cups other vegetables (including starchy ones) + 1 medium fruit or 6 ozs. juice + 1 cup berries or melon). More than that is too much fiber and sugar to effectively absorb the nutrients, avoid gas, allow sufficient calories for necessary protein and fat, etc.

  • My boyfriend and I have been doing this fasting for a few weeks,and we’ve both lost 11 pounds. Going to try to keep this going until the end if the year.   • The only thing that I eat on that table is the vegetables minus the sweet potatoes. I would love to have spaghetti but the amount of spaghetti that you can eat is so little and so high in calories I just avoid it.

  • It would have been much better if I found this specific guide a few years back. I lose 12 lbs in three weeks up to now. There is still need of exercise routines even just a couple of times a week and also the meals to consume should be best. The end result shown to me is incredible.   • Raw Organic Cacao is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium, the most deficient mineral in the Western world. I checked the labels on 5 different Raw Cacao brands and NONE of them lists magnesium, but when I googled it, it’s true that it’s a great source of magnesium. However after my cousin follow it, and finally lost a ton of weight by using it without starving herself. I’m persuaded. You should not take my own word for it, search for Custokebon Secrets on google.

    2. Low lights after 5 p.m.
    3. Strength train to live longer
    4. Eat a salad for lunch
    5. Fast for 24h once a week
    6. Meditate at least 5 min daily, practice gratefulness
    7. Vitamin D3, DHEA, magnesium, curcumin, probiotic, Fish oil
    8. Find and maintain close relationships

  • While that may be 500 calories of yams, it’s also 2 days’ worth of carbs! He doesn’t say that a serving of pasta is tiny-about 1/8th what you get at a restaurant. (And that assumes no garlic bread with the meal.)

    Filling up on pasta puts your carbs through the roof, and the body thinks typical pasta is white sugar. This brings on diabetes, especially if it doesn’t include meat, or at least fat.

    Studies show we should never eat carbs alone. Always include protein or fat, or the pancreas and liver have to work hard to keep blood sugar stable.

  • Thank you Anthony for this advice. My only caution to your audience is to be very careful in supplementing with DHEA. I took 25 mg. twice daily of this hormone for four months straight and noticed my hair starting to thin. Apparently, DHEA can be converted to DHT which is a catalyst for hair loss. Supplement with caution!

  • Im really struggling to agree with #1… you do not have to completely eliminate processed sugar, how is it ‘absolutely terrible’? if we are already consuming the fibre, vitamins, the minerals, the phytochemicals, is consuming some processed sugar here and there ‘unhealthy’?

    Moderation yes, but complete elimination is scare mongering. The majority of disease, insulin resistance etc. comes from excessive overall calorie intake and over-consumption. Would you not agree that if 90% of our diet comes from nutrient dense whole foods then it is okay to be consuming something processed with some sugar in (if it allows us to stick to the other 90% and improves adherence)?

    I don’t think it is a great idea to be labelling such things as absolutely terrible? Perhaps label such processed sugar items as being not very nutrient dense? But not terrible… this is attaching guilt and negativity to foods that could be enjoyed in moderation

  • Il stick to my morning healthy breakfast… I can skip any meal but not breakfast. Unless I had a late dinner �� our metabolism are different. I think we need to personalize… When I feel like eating light for a week, getting more energy, I do it.

  • I think I have binge eating disorder. I tried to intermittent fasting from time to time, in 3 months I’d lost 10 kilos, then my weight loss stall, then I give up and back to binge eating. Now I wanna try intermittent fasting cz it’s the fastest, easy, and simple. But if it’s not the best method for those who has eating disorder, what is?:(

I preferred breaking it with water and fruits (+dates) and later after half an hour with some food (mostly meat or vegetables, or whatever my mum cooks). It is difficult to eat excessively after breaking fast with fruits and water inside an hour. Fasting is also helpful in digestion and I feel really really good during Ramadan. It also helps in a good and deep sleep, which I never have outside IF. It also helps in building stamina if one is looking for exercise. We shouldn’t eat excessive food to get things going but just enough to satisfy our desires. As per Prophet saying, stomach should be such that it is filled with one-third food, 1/3rd water, and the rest empty. So, all those who are looking for IF, go ahead. It will be tough for couple of days but if you are determined, the rest of the days will be easy and like regular. All the best.

  • I agree with most of your tips BUT the scientific consensus on supplements is that most of them are just going to make your urine more expensive. The best advice is to eat nutritionally rich food that contains these nutrients/supplements, i.e. eat fish instead of taking fish oil, etc. On the other hand, I take Vit D and magnesium even though I have no evidebce that I am deficient. Curcumin and probiotics are examples of supplements which have better results in lab tests than they do in human bodies.

But as a 71 year-old, even without the virus, I see many of my fellow seniors falling into that pattern. Whole Foods plant based is such an easy, affordable and delicious lifestyle. I feel amazing and lost 40lbs easily. **WFPB is not no fat it’s no (or little)refined foods including oil.   • I started following a WFPB no oil about two years ago due to having researched nutrition as I had some chronic illnesses and was referred to cardiologist. My cholesterol was thru the roof plus other bloods out of normal ranges and I had for years been a runner and thought I’d been eating healthy. After only six months of wfpb my cholesterol, and other bloods normalised. I feel so much better, I have always been a decent cook but now I make so many more dishes using options and mixing foods I’d never have thought would go before! I feel great, people have commented many times on my skin and ask what creams I use. I don’t feel anything from my arthritis or my other chronic illnesses.

    So yes if you want to continue eating meat, dairy, oil fine but look up what it does to your body and perhaps cut it down if you can’t or don’t wish to cut it out completely, you will notice a difference in your health.

    Oh and I eat far more now than I ever did due to the calorie density, as per this video.

  • The only thing that I eat on that table is the vegetables minus the sweet potatoes. I would love to have spaghetti but the amount of spaghetti that you can eat is so little and so high in calories I just avoid it.

  • I agree with most of your tips BUT the scientific consensus on supplements is that most of them are just going to make your urine more expensive. The best advice is to eat nutritionally rich food that contains these nutrients/supplements, i.e. eat fish instead of taking fish oil, etc. On the other hand, I take Vit D and magnesium even though I have no evidebce that I am deficient. Curcumin and probiotics are examples of supplements which have better results in lab tests than they do in human bodies.

    I wish I could eat lettuce but I am intolerant to green vegetables, I have IBS, its not fun. Anyway it would be great if you guys could make a diet video for people with IBS.   • It’s a rule: any video that starts with: “the secret”, is garbage. Any channel that starts using: “the secret”, in its titles, has ran out of integrity and is in a downward spiral to mediocrity. They all eventually fall and start using: “the secret”.

  • If you have gut issues be careful lot of plants have toxins and will rip your gut. Raw nuts, tomatoes, oats, check out heal your gut guy.

  • When deciding what to eat to lose weight; don’t lose sight of what vitamins and minerals your body needs for optimum performance and healing. I’ve been learning a lot from Dr Eric Berg here on YouTube. I love how he explains how different systems in our body work if we give them what they need. After listening to what he has to say and reading comments from people following a modified ketogenic diet, I’m a believer. I feel better than I have in years, have lots more energy and my RA symptoms are greatly improved.

  • I started 12/8 3 months ago first month l lost 2 to 3 pounds then nothing but have not gain. My benefit is that my acid reflux completely stopped, no more chewing 4 to 6 chalk like or expensive rolaids or tums had bottles at home in my purse in my car since starting 12/8 i have not gotten any symptoms. I eat mostly healthy but i do have sweets or smoothies several times s week. I need to cut down on my portions all a process.. i love to cook so rarely eat processed food..but i hope to be better and stop stuffing myself too quickly waiting for meal time….i am surprise i am still doing this LOL but not having a bloated stomach and reflux outweighs everything!

  • This completely ignores the importance of protein, balancing blood sugar, and that fats are necessary in small amounts. Many of the nutrients in salad will not be absorbed without including some fat.

    Studies show that 1 lb of produce per day is beneficial (that’s like 2 cups greens + 2 cups other vegetables (including starchy ones) + 1 medium fruit or 6 ozs. juice + 1 cup berries or melon). More than that is too much fiber and sugar to effectively absorb the nutrients, avoid gas, allow sufficient calories for necessary protein and fat, etc.

  • Raw Organic Cacao is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium, the most deficient mineral in the Western world. I checked the labels on 5 different Raw Cacao brands and NONE of them lists magnesium, but when I googled it, it’s true that it’s a great source of magnesium. It’s just not added to the product, so it’s not listed. See the Dr’s comment at 12:35 minutes into the video.

  • Im really struggling to agree with #1… you do not have to completely eliminate processed sugar, how is it ‘absolutely terrible’? if we are already consuming the fibre, vitamins, the minerals, the phytochemicals, is consuming some processed sugar here and there ‘unhealthy’?

    Moderation yes, but complete elimination is scare mongering. The majority of disease, insulin resistance etc. comes from excessive overall calorie intake and over-consumption. Would you not agree that if 90% of our diet comes from nutrient dense whole foods then it is okay to be consuming something processed with some sugar in (if it allows us to stick to the other 90% and improves adherence)?

    I don’t think it is a great idea to be labelling such things as absolutely terrible? Perhaps label such processed sugar items as being not very nutrient dense? But not terrible… this is attaching guilt and negativity to foods that could be enjoyed in moderation

    Interested to hear your thoughts as you have a very big outreach.

  • I just saw the last commentno it’s actually not expensive to eat out and be on a budget. I discovered that the $6+ Grilled chicken sandwich at McDonalds is really $1.59 when you just order the fresh chicken patty and not the 200 calorie bun that comes with the meal-don’t get the meals. Its super healthy and only 180 calories without the extras, tastes super good. Add a diet Coke and your at 180 calories for lunch so you have the room to add something.

  • Eat one ingredient foods…spinach, eggs, chicken, nuts, peanut butter. berries, sweet potatoes broccoli. meat, fish etc.
    Absolutely No Sugar or Processed Foods! Yes, fruit is better than processed sugar because of the nutrients in them BUT fruit sugar still is not good for you…eat in moderation, mostly berries. Yes, organic is best, but you can still eat healthy if you can’t afford organic.

    2. Low lights after 5 p.m.
    3. Strength train to live longer
    4. Eat a salad for lunch
    5. Fast for 24h once a week
    6. Meditate at least 5 min daily, practice gratefulness
    7. Vitamin D3, DHEA, magnesium, curcumin, probiotic, Fish oil
    8. Find and maintain close relationships

  • These are great tips. I have been doing a form of intermittent fasting since February 2019. Down 80 lbs but green tea and a Sunday fast would be great additions.

  • Thank you Anthony for this advice. My only caution to your audience is to be very careful in supplementing with DHEA. I took 25 mg. twice daily of this hormone for four months straight and noticed my hair starting to thin. Apparently, DHEA can be converted to DHT which is a catalyst for hair loss. Supplement with caution!

  • If you eat a lettuce salad, you’ll be hungry in no time, regardless of the fiber. You need protein. Protein is why nuts help you to feel fuller than you might expect. Processed foods are the culprit.

  • I have definitely been a culprit of panic retail shopping so this month i have given myself the challenge of not spending on craft supplies. I am still working full time with a 6 year old at home. I have little time to use the things i have without adding a bunch of new things. Though I have been good about saving the money I am not spending on child care or travelling to work. So swings and roundabouts there.

  • I have been on IF for I think 2 or 3 months and have lost 32 lbs so far. This has changed how I see food and my body.   • My boyfriend and I have been doing this fasting for a few weeks,and we’ve both lost 11 pounds. Going to try to keep this going until the end if the year. Drinking black coffee or tea in the morning helps SO much. We also cut out pork/beef. Almonds-nuts are great snacks as well. We both have way more energy and have mentally been feeling better. My window is from 11am-7pm,and his is 1pm-9pm. I will try to keep posting updates. Don’t give up,it’s really worth it.

  • Great video. I’ve been following How Not To Die and dr Greger’s books have changed my life. That and the Starch Solution. Whole Foods plant based is such an easy, affordable and delicious lifestyle. I feel amazing and lost 40lbs easily. **WFPB is not no fat it’s no (or little)refined foods including oil. You still eat nuts, olives etc but best to keep in moderation whilst trying to losing weight.

  • I really appreciate that Chelsea addressed “not feeling productive enough”. I went through a whole phase back in March and the first few months were rough when I realized I had such a toxic relationship with myself and “needing” to work in order to feel productive or worthy. I’ve also been a little guilty of isolating myself by not responding to friends or leaving messages unread longer than I normally would, and this video is a good reminder to continue staying in touch with people.

  • Video actually starts at 2:30. Biggest annoyance with this channel is the unnecessarily looooooooong intros. Get on with it already!!

  • I don’t know how or when I did, but I turned off the notifications for youtube replies. Sometimes I enjoy joining in on a conversation under a video, particularly if I find it helpful or interesting, but it’s the reply notifications that I found stressful. Once I turned it off, it feels like I can just drop my bit, leave, and never look back. It’s awesome. Unless I check back on this video I won’t see any replies to this comment either.

  • My coping mechanism is bing watching the X Files. I have just finished watching season 8 and am about to start season 9 for about the third time since the start of the year. I have also been chain drinking coffee as well.

  • One bad habit I started was spending more as a way to do something, I’ve since started the hobby of creating a YouTube channel in order to combat that and I’m loving it so far!
