  • Human body: evolves so that it can make energy from sugar and carbs with nearly 100% efficiency
Will: Maybe I have a dependency towards sugar and carbs.

  • I am finding it hard to get the right kind of fats. So many saturated fats. Losing weight but not seeing the reduction in my LDLs I’m going for.

  • Please remember not to eat carcinogenic things in your quest to achieve keto. Keto works because it is virtually zero sugar and tons of fat and protein, JUST LIKE OUR ANCESTORS ATE. Pre-fridge man also did not have fun preservatives in his meat, he had to find it, and then dry, can, or freeze it. No plastics either. No mega-farms to raise his food for him. Don’t sabotage your health in other ways just to lose weight. If you still want phony replacements for sugar, you’re not doing it right. Major holidays only. Also I’ll tell you right now it’s easier to last on red meat and seafood than on peanuts and chicken.

  • You will also save money. I find cutting carbs has curbed my hunger tremendously. I can eat two, and sometimes one big healthy meal and feel satisfied all day long. I put the extra savings into buying high quality grass fed meats and organic veggies.

  • johnwhat’s your take on the nutrition of corn porridge? When you cook cornmeal with water or coconut milk the same as you would oats. tastes great. not sure how nutritious

  • I know this sounds silly but do you take the proteins from veggies into account. When I plan my meals I think of the proteins only from the animal sources like from the eggs, poultry, sea food and meats. But when I log my food for the day I am dismayed that I am 10 grams over from protein from veggies and sometimes nuts!! I make allowance for protein from cheeses but veggies seems ridiculous.

  • A really great way to eat oatmeal is with ground chicken seasoned with chicken stock powder and a little salt and pepper chopped carrots green peas and green onions, once you try this you’ll never go back to sweet oatmeal except on occasion. I know it sounds weird but you gotta try it. Make sure it’s gluten free for a smoother texture. You can also use these same ingredients with rice instead of oatmeal, just cook the rice with extra water until mushy add the ingredients half way through cooking process.

  • You mention the flours in snacks and desserts but would like your input when used to make fat dough and mainly the fat dough for pizza and bagels

  • Good video. I count total carbs on all packaged foods (the few that I eat), but net carbs on fruits and vegetables such as avocados. So true about the keto snacks and desserts-best to tread lightly on these. Thanks!

  • Will, I’ve been binging your vids lately and the quality from this video 10 months ago to some of the ones you have made is insanely good! Keep it up!

  • I hate to say it but six years ago I had a knee replacement, not fun. At that time I did not know about Keto diets/Carnivore. I swear to you had I known I might never have needed that operation. It has made a huge difference in my life and your vids have helped.

  • Eating lectins causes inflammation, and totally sabotages weight loss.
So… the worst lectin offenders are peanut butter, tomatoes, peppers, beansnever eat beans!!!!!

  • I’ve been doing the keto diet since September and have lost a tremendous amount of weight. I’m also at the gym nearly 5-6 days a week, about 3-3 1/2 hours a day, doing an hour of cardio (broken up), weights and core/stretching. I ABSOLUTELY love this way of eating and have never in my life had this kind of success. I don’t fear gaining my weight back ( not at my goal yet ), nor do I struggle in any way. However, I do allow myself to be ‘human’, if you will, and very occasionally will indulge (in a big way ) in having a high carb day or two, in which I don’t monitor carbs or anything…just go for it… have fun and enjoy. Is that ok to do, as long as it is only once in a great while, like once a month or so??

  • Hello on the cheap tip. Watched the video on the jlo diet. No sugar, no carbs is basically a diabetic diet. I’m grateful to you for admitting the bad mood you were in following the first day. I’m in therapy for my bad mood and being depressed. I’ve lost 17lbs and I’d rather be fat and happy than thin and miserable
But my being chubby is killing me because of the diabetes. And you mentioned being Puerto Rican. Seriously? Wow. I knew I enjoyed your videos but now I feel a connection when you said you love RICE, me two times over!!!

  • Why are you listening to the RDA for protein but not for carbs or fat? If the recommended daily allowance for carbs is too high and the allowance for fat is too low as far as the keto diet is concerned why would you even think the allowance for protein is on point? Not a good example for you to use in my opinion, you get to pick and choose which RDA to listen to??

  • I’m so confused after watching you latest video. Dr Eric Berg DC and Thomas De Lauer say to watch your fat and Thomas says eat lean meat and add fat to it. Dr Ken Berry MD says consuming to much protein does not matter and Amy Berger says in her video you don’t need to test your Ketos.
I would like to know what you think do these views.

  • Did this my entire pregnancy due to gestational diabetes and refusal to take medication. With help from a dietitian, I lost almost 20 lbs up until my 4th month where i gained 3. In total, I Gained 13lbs and my baby was 7lbs of that. The pregnancy cravings were so bad tho However, I do this intermittently now. 11 years later and no diabetes even though they said it would come back. This takes discipline but its worth the results.

  • Hi, I am 76 years young, I started low carb because I am a type 2 diabetic who was on medication which wasn’t keeping my blood sugar in check, my numbers were always 160, 200, even a few times 300. If I’m honest though, what I realized was, I would eat all the carbs thinking the meds will take care of it, which of course was wrong. I got to a point when I could not afford $559.00 for a 30 day supply of meds, and thought what do I do now? So, I did some research, found you and Dr Jason Fung, learned so much about how the body works, started very low carb, and immediately for me, my numbers came down, it proved to me it was what I was eating that was my biggest problem! My weight is not a problem now, the weight chart says 126 for my highest weight, I am 5 foot 2 inches, I weigh 136, so going by that, I have 10 pounds to lose still. My blood sugar runs in the 80’s and 90’s mostly now, I have proven to myself it’s definitely what I was eating. I will never go back to carbs, it’s one of the hardest things I have ever done, but one of the most rewarding in terms of my health. Thank you for all of your sound, reliable information!

  • I’m 73 (soon to be 74, God willing) and my husband is 79 (soon to be 80!), I’ve been concerned about my ever-increasing weight gain. I’m 5’2″ and have always been thin and fit, but the last 10 years, my weight has crept up and I thought it was “normal” as you age. My doctor’s never said a word. I’ve felt awful. My main weight is around my middle and no amount of exercise/walking has worked to get rid of it. I’m sure my non-existent metabolism has something to do with it but I KNOW my consumption of carbs and sugar is the main reason. I’ve been mostly concerned about diabetes. I have NO family history because I was adopted and never knew who my bio parents were to get any history from. So, my step-daughter (who’s 45) has been doing Keto for over a year. Recently, I decided enough was enough of putting garbage in my aging body. My husband and I have cut carbs drastically the last 4 days and we can tell the difference already. There’s more carbs we will be cutting but I need to grocery shop and who wants to go to the store now with what’s going on? I have HBP and take meds 3xdaily. My husband only take a cholesterol pill. We’re both very fortunate and we want to stay that way. My biggest challenge is what to shop for and what to make. Thanks for the videos and valuable information.

  • This video has truly changed my life!!!.. I started this as a challenge to myself 6 months ago….I was overweight, lack physical activity, anxious and always complaining about my weight. Watching every weight loss motivational videos, I came across to this one… I tried no sugar low carbs for a week then after I saw change in my body… I continued….and to spice things up a little bit I started to take 10k steps per day… I was 75kg and now I’m 61kg… I recommend this to my friends and their results were also incredible…. To all the people who are seeking for weight loss motivation, keep challenging your body, keep on loving yourself, may God bless you. Love from Nepal

  • You mention the flours in snacks and desserts but would like your input when used to make fat dough and mainly the fat dough for pizza and bagels

  • Surprising to see you reference RDA 0.8 protein/kg. RDA also says eat fruit daily, low fat, etc. Why did you use this reference? (not snide, just curious)

  • Lovely video. Takes weeks to months for the human body to truly get fat adapted. First two weeks are the worst, but anything after that will feel super human. But metabolic flexibility is what you want to achieve. I’d say cycling between keto, low carb and high carb is the best way to acquire metabolic flexibility. Meaning your body will be able to switch from glucose burning(glycolysis) to fat burning(ketosis) within a day or two of switching diets.

And one HUGE benefit of fat adaptation is that you can start water fasting anytime and you will not feel hungry, tired or out of energy throughout the entire fast. Whether it’s a 3 day or a 7 day fast. On the contrary, you’ll feel like modafuckin’ Hippocrates himself.

  • I am solid evidence of a low-carb diet being super-essential, beneficial for joint, muscle, bone health. I had a severe brain injury in October of 1994, was in the hospital about 6 months, out-patient rehab for 6 more. My main 2 residuals were/are slurred speech and very challenged balance. Both have gotten better, or maybe I’ve learned how to work them better. But I used to fall ALL THE TIME. I somehow noticed when I lost weight (I had lost 5 lbs for some reason) that my falls were less consequential. So I scanned the Internet for weight loss and came upon DB almost immediately. She became my mentor. She advised me to lose about 5 lbs. (I was already at an okay weight.) I did by following her advice, low-sugar and -carbs. My falls still happened, but I bounce back up unbelievably well (as Keith sited). Now, more than 25-years later, I still occasionally fall, but not as much and it’s absolutely no big. Usually. And, I was one of the first people to join DB’s Freedom program. And I love it. And you 2 Fit Docs. Thanks for everything!

  • I have been on and off keto over the last 3 years I lost 70 lbs first year in 6 months pain in joints went.
6 months later put 60lbs on pains came back. 2nd year lost 50lbs over 4 months then stoped for 6 months put 70lbs on. Now stared again 1 month in 16lbs down and felling better. One thing over time I have learnt that Carbs are addictive Im 59 now and have made the decision to stay on keto full time from now on.
Watched your vlogs over the lst few years very helpfull and Thank you both from the UK.

  • What JLo probably didn’t disclose is that you need electrolytes when taking sugar out your diet. Carbs help keep the water in our body so when you go low or no carb you will lose a lot of water and electrolytes in that water. If you supplement electrolytes in, you will feel GREAT!

  • I have heard that a breathalyzer can detect acetone on your breath. Does the a breathalyzer differentiate between alcohol and acetone? Does someone on a Keto diet have to fear failing a breathalyzer test by the police?

  • This is for anyone genuinely considering this diet.. So the Keto diet has one of the largest adaptation curves out of all the diets that are out there. The first few days and weeks are by far the worst, especially until you find out the right amount of daily electrolyte supplementation. Until fat adaptation occurs, which takes up to 6-8 weeks, your workouts WILL suffer in that you’ll get gassed easily, especially on endurance type workouts. But if you stay the course and come out the other side of the adaptation phase, the benefits you experience include increased satiety to the point where I can just eat one meal a day and not get hungry, mental clarity, level energy throughout the day, stable mood, increased libido, clear skin, and letting go on dependency of sugar, including artificial sweeteners if you do Keto right. But I will say that keto is not an optimal diet if you are looking at it from purely a muscle mass gaining viewpoint due to dependency on muscle glycogen for optimal physical performance. That’s where targeted keto diet comes in if you really want to stick to keto while bulking.

  • I firmly believe the skin, hair, and nails are maps to what’s going on inside. We are wonderfully made by God and He makes it easy to diagnose things if we only knew what to look at/for.

  • I missed carbs for a couple of days so I made the 90 second microwave keto bread. It was terrible but it got me away from the craving. I made some fat bombs to help with cravings and never ended up eating them because I just feel good. My husband uses them to sustain him at work because he doesn’t have time to eat a meal. Then I wanted ice cream so I simply whipped some heavy whipping cream…added raw cacao and some stevia drops. I portioned it out in 4 oz. mason jars and keep it in my freezer for when I really want some. I’m 6 weeks in and feel so much better even if my body still doesn’t want to release the weight.

  • My first week on keto, I ate lots of eggs too because I didn’t know what else to eat one year later and still on keto and I barely touch them. You didn’t eat enough fat for keto….if so you would’ve been much more satisfied. And you could’ve had cheese!!!

  • Are you kidding!, that has been my life style for a year now! No bread, rice, pasta no sugar. I can eat everything else. I stop eating at 7 P.M and eat at 8 A.M. Be careful of the sodium in salty snacks. Water is key. I drink 10 to 12 cups of water daily. I lost 70 lbs in year. My body got used to eating this way, It became “My life style”. I would not change a thing! I also work out 6 days a week and have one day to rest. FYI, I cut off coffee and cheese within a couple of days, I was like oh hell no! I am going to kill someone without my coffee! Lol

  • Good video. I count total carbs on all packaged foods (the few that I eat), but net carbs on fruits and vegetables such as avocados. So true about the keto snacks and desserts-best to tread lightly on these. Thanks!

  • having type 2 and lowering my carbs has put my blood sugar under total control. It is not hard to do basically all you are doing is eating normally and cutting crappy bread, pasta, rice and junk food.

  • Just started watching some of your vids today. I like the fact you add your son in and show off his talents. Instantly subscribed.

  • Keto is great and I agree even though I’ve done it it’s hard to sustain. However, I don’t workout much either. I think when it comes to physical activity and keto you can adjust your carbs as you see fit. This diet, when followed strictly works wonders for people who are more sedentary or maybe are more cardio based.

  • I saw in an older video that one mistake is not testing ketones. Is there a tester (blood) that the Docs recommend?
I started keto 2.5 weeks ago after one year of fasting with no results . I’m trying to mix the two now.
Also recommendations on carb counting app? I think the one I use has my protein too high. 60lbs overweight/late 50’s/woman

  • Skin tags! Who knew?!? Yes, I have them. Thanks for the info! Just started watching your videos a few weeks ago; slowly removing sugar from my diet (as I empty my fridge & pantry… on a budget) but already down 11 lbs and feeling better. YAY!!! Thank you!

  • Love your videos. So informative for us beginners. I. Appreciate you guys! ❤️…To go totally off subject…is to just me or does Becky sometimes remind you of Anna Gestyer on “Delicious Dish” skit on SNL? Lol. It cracks me up sometimes. I just wait for them to say “good times”. Lol. No offense, i get a kick out of it. I loved Delicious Dish and totally enjoying you guys too! ☺️ keep up the great work!❤️

  • Good informative video as usual, thank you. I do find however that the challenge with taking in enough fat and to limit your protein is that it’s a struggle to find foods that are more fat than anything else. Cheese for example has lots of fat but also has protein. Avocado is more fat than protein but a 100g portion doesn’t contain a whole lot. Olives too have the same issue. Without eating butter by itself what other foods are there that give you the necessary amount of fat without the associated carbs or protein?

  • My favorite part of VeryLowCarb/Keto and more kind of a Paleo lifestyle is NO ONE CAN EVER REALLY GUESS My Age
I never thought my skin could clear up after years and years of acne
My Body Mass Index is as if I were 20 years old
I was able to pick up running, biking, hiking, swimming and dancing again✨
And my sex drive which used to be really low (like Demisexual Low), has now turned up and I’m happy and grateful for that too.
I had never been looking or feeling this healthy in my entire life.

  • Wow. The difference between this video and the videos you’re putting out now show how much this channel has grown and it’s awesome!!

  • There are Keto Breads, Tortilla’s, Bagel’s, and Buns. You can even make Keto Mug Bread and cakes ( which is the size of a big muffin or Cup Cake) all low carb, higher fat medium protein and very satisfying and filling

  • i think you should do this again and think of keto desserts. for example greek yogurt plain with added stevia, peanut butter and some protein microwaved brownie bites. I go no carbs or sugar for a week before events and having keto sweets makes it soooooo much easier.

  • I’m considering a keto diet and wondering if sprouted grain bread like Ezekiel english muffins are ok. They are sprouted grain, and flourless.

  • Been watching your videos for a while now..but you have definitely become my favorite bodybuilding youtuber. Just 100% yourself, great family man, great dude, and the best raw practical advice and coaching on training. Thanks you!

  • Will, have you ever did LC/KD before? One week Is not that much, try one month because if you didnt go throu the proccess called KETO FLU..your body did not adapt to use fat as fuel yet.
It actually appearing in one or two weeks.
But if you did adapt before or for some personal reason you dont want the adaptation happen…this test Is only about water in your body:)
Now I am gonna continue watching

  • I have the same type waist, a little wide at the bottom. It means we are bad asses and have big banana wieners. Girls like banana wieners

  • What is the name/brand of the instrument you use to measure your ketones and blood sugar? Is it available to the public without a doctor’s Rx?

  • Skin tags! Who knew?!? Yes, I have them. Thanks for the info! Just started watching your videos a few weeks ago; slowly removing sugar from my diet (as I empty my fridge & pantry… on a budget) but already down 11 lbs and feeling better. YAY!!! Thank you!

  • Good info, thanks for this information video. At first I was all about the desserts, I would make them not like them and toss what was left. I don’t eat much ‘sweet’ at all anymore. I do think it’s easy to creep up on protein and carbs without even realizing you are doing it.

  • I think I’ve let carb creep happen. I probably eat too much protein and not enough fat! I have to rethink some things. Thanks I run a fan for noise,i can’t sleep without it. I think I will look at your 21 day challenge.

  • Seven day’s isn’t long enough and its not a diet its a lifestyle
All your saying in your video is im a little boy with no will power
    Nuff said!!!

  • I am eating homemade guacamole, eggs white and lettuce salad topped with farofa ( is a Brazilian food) as I watch this video. I committed to go no sugar, no carb diet for a week. I just want to lose weight fast! Not my long term health eating. I am on my second day and I don’t feel bloated like I was. My belly is already showing improvement. I am also lifting weights. My weight as of yesterday is 163lbs.
Let’s see by the end of my experiment. I’ll comeback for an update.

  • I have bought your program and have done the prep phase. Now I’m ready to start with the next step: buying the food and starting with Day 1’s menu and, etc. Why can’t I find it in my email? I feel like you have dropped me after having bought your program. Armina B.

  • Morning, I’ve been doing low carb onto keto for 4.5 months, am amazed at how fabulous my skin feels. I’ve always had dry sensitive skin that would feel more dried out in water, now it is water resistant and has this lovely lustre, especially my hands, my palms look and feel amazing.

  • The keto diet has become popular as many people claim it can help with weight loss. The diet, however, might not be best for long-term health as the eating habits it promotes might lead to heart rhythm problems.

  • I lost 50 pounds on keto and took a break for 4 months and my joint pain came back worse than ever. I’m back on it again for 3 weeks now and the pain is just starting to get better. I still have 30 pounds to lose anyways, might as well.

  • But is RDA working off old research ie. Based on SAD diet? For protein requirement. Some keto gurus I follow argue for.8 xs body weight in pounds! And, at my age I was advised, (62) I should add 10-15grams of protein to my protein which by most Calculators is in 70s. Please weigh in

  • i would never thought i be able to give up pasta, bread, potato CARBS etc…. but now i don’t miss it because i feel good!!!! great video!!

  • Thank you Mr. John I did seen couples of your videos and subscribed you’r channel. From Afghanistan, plz do help me out if I have any questions on diet and improvement muscle and if you don’t mind to get your email and send my pic to have your opinion that will be great..!

  • Will. I gotta know. When you do your walks, are they more a leisurely but constant movement walk? Or are they faster paced cardio minded?

  • When I switched to Keto day number 4 hit me like a ton of bricks, headache and no energy…after the week was done I started feeling great been on it for 10 months, no cravings or hunger.

  • I have very little interest in Keto baking. Too much like Frankenfood to me. I do love berries (and a bit of frozen melon) and quality dark choc as treats.

  • I love this new way of eating! I feel so much better! I’m losing weight & my cravings have gone way down! I feel better now than I have in many years! Carbs have always made me sleepy anyways. Your vides have been very helpful!

  • Dear Docs, where do you stand on Carnivore.. would love you’re input.
I am fat adapted, at GW, 62 yr old female, do exercise. Maintaining xs 5 mos

  • Interesting video, thanks. I think eliminating ALL carbs bit unnecessary to be honest. Sugar, well that makes more sense. BTW where do you get the cool scale!?

  • Have cut carbs now over a year. More energy, more alert, great sleep.
I do put mct oil in my coffee In the morning with heavy whipped cream.
Lost 24 lbs..not going back. I stopped eating meat over a year ago and don’t miss it.
(I do have a treat day once a month).

  • Don’t you know by now that eating more protein than your body requires will result in the extra protein being converted to sugar? It’s called gluconeogenesis. Are you really advocating that people eat 1.5 pounds of meat at every meal? That is criminal. Do your homework first before you go advising people to eat a certain way.
Do you know that many people have an incredibly difficult time digesting nuts? I guess not since you are advocating “eat them all day long!” You shouldn’t be eating anything all day long for one thing. Nuts are fill with mold, mycotoxins, phytic acid, high amount of poly unsaturated fatty acids which when consumed to excess will cause inflammation not to mention nuts are allergenic for much of the population. I could go on and on. You are the worst and giving low card a very bad name.

  • You will also save money. I find cutting carbs has curbed my hunger tremendously. I can eat two, and sometimes one big healthy meal and feel satisfied all day long. I put the extra savings into buying high quality grass fed meats and organic veggies.

  • What could possibly happen? When I first learned of net carbs, I thought: what is this sorcery you speak of? At night, turn the wireless printers off. WiFi on, let’s not get crazy, but printers off.

  • I find protein, (because it is low carb) is tough for me! I crave it as much if not more than sugars now that I am off carbs. Thanks for mentioning keto snacks. Now that I do not have artificial sweeteners and the flour….oh, yes, it makes a huge difference.

  • Good information. I like the comments re low-carb at under 125 grams of carbohydrate. Not everyone needs to be under 20 grams. Eating these carbs with or just after the major evening meal is a strategy that works for some. Not me, mind you: I run better eating nothing till the afternoon, and then beginning caloric intake with (near) pure fats, as in a keto-coffee (butter, MCT) and/or 100% (no sweetener) cacao bar; my steak in the later afternoon (4pm); a whey shake (or three-egg and whey mug cake) about an hour or two later. At 60 y/o, after losing 120 lbs. on a beef-heavy low carb, calorie-restricted diet, have maintained the weight loss for a year eating this way. On the other hand, my wife, who never had the weight to lose, maintains her 125 lb. shape eating most of her 100 grams of carbs with/after the evening meal; she will eat eggs or chicken, walnuts-and-sauerkraut when she needs something earlier in the day, then in the early evening beef and some veg before the sweet potato and frozen mango.

  • Oh my goodness. I just checked my armpits for my skin tags. They are gone! I have been eating low carb only for a short time. Who would have thought?

  • Been subbed for a few months and I’m just now realizing you’re 24 ( always thought you were 19-21ish) but your videos help me a lot with recipes and keep me in tact with my diet. I struggled with body dysmorphia for a while and was fat most my child hood so it’s refreshing being able to watch someone with a relatable story. Keep at it bro you’re one of the best fitness Youtubers on here

  • Thanks for the information, you guys are always informative and helpful. I’m watching your video as I’m making Keto scones …but I think you are absolutely right about the food industry jumping on the bandwagon and selling products that are really processed with hidden ingredients. I fell for it as well and it slowed my progress tremendously. Now I’m making my own “everything” and I know what goes into my body. Love watching you guys.

  • Good video. It is a shock of how much sugar and carbs we eat…. but there are some alternatives… Try protein pancakes, or mash a banana with one whole egg and an egg white and make it into a pancake… plus you dance so you probably don’t need to work out but most of us need to burn the calories at the gym…:) but if you do weight training that really makes a difference too…

Also, sure a honey bun sounds so good especially before and while you’re eating it, but you should check in with yourself about 10 minutes AFTER you eat… Most of the time after I eat stuff like that I’m tired and feel awful…

  • I honestly love your channel I found u once but forgot ur name and forgot it but now I found it motivated me to loose weight thx keep up the good work!!!

  • There is a  chocolate bar with stevia as the only sweetner and high coco % dark.   Can’t  remember the brand, at our local health food store.  no bitterness,

  • My least favorite video of yours. I agree with some your points but others not so much. The Keto diet is much less about what you eat than what you don’t eat carbs. Don’t scare people about protein. Getting too little is a much bigger issue than getting too much. Listen to Dr. Ben Bikman or Dr. Ted Naiman. Protein is much less insulinogenic in a fat adapted individual. You absolutely do not need to spend a lot of money measuring Ketones. Dr. Westman never measures ketones nor has his patients do it. I have lost 120 lbs in 14 months on the keto diet and never measured a ketone. Just control your carbs and you will be in ketosis. Also don’t make people think they need to eat a certain amount of fat. You can overdo the fat. I like Ben Bikman’s mantra: Control Carbs, Prioritize Protein and Fill with Fat. It makes bio-chemical sense and has worked well for me.

  • I can relate to a lot of these improvements. For me, my biggest change was vast improvement to my mood and mental health. I used to have moments of suicidal ideation, but no longer! Also, once I changed my personal hygiene products to more natural products, (dropped the flouride toothpaste) my skin and hair became much more healthy and beautiful looking. I look and feel much younger (33 but feel 21). Low carb is the fountain of youth.

  • I love sucralose it tastes just like sugar no cooling effect and a little goes along way some people say it affects blood sugar but it doesn’t with me I recently made 2 lots of brownies one with erythritol ond one sucralose both came out solid but sucralose had the most sugarlike taste once cooked and cooled.

Sugar free chocolate and avocado keeps them rich fudgy and soft

  • Will, I’ve been binging your vids lately and the quality from this video 10 months ago to some of the ones you have made is insanely good! Keep it up!

  • LOVE “2 fit docs” It was also such a pleasure meeting you both at LCDenver FYI I made Keith’s Meatloaf tonight…my husband’s favorite! By the way, I’ve been low carb for almost 4 years now, but have found the greatest success with more of a keto/carnivore lifestyle for almost a year

  • Great tips, thanks! I personally don’t test ketones all the time, but I keep my carbs very low most of the time. I’ve had very good success losing and maintaining about 100 pounds of weight loss. I may need to really dial things in to get the last 20 to 30 pounds off though. I’m considering some extended fasts a couple times a month.

  • Hello Doctors! I, a 65 yo, started on a low carb diet last fall and have lost 35 lb. I had been taking HRT until I was diagnosed with breast cancer this Feb. I stopped the meds right way and after surgery, I was put on estrogen-depleting medicine. I was expecting major hot flashes, but I have not had any problems with them. I have stopped losing weight which is a little frustrating (I would like to lose 20 more lbs.), but low carb is now my chosen lifestyle. Thank you for your videos. God bless you both.

  • americains only know of brocolis? theres are so many vegies out there! collis flower, egg plant zuccinis,, artichokes, beens, leek, capsican so many…….

  • I have bought your program and have done the prep phase. Now I’m ready to start with the next step: buying the food and starting with Day 1’s menu and, etc. Why can’t I find it in my email? I feel like you have dropped me after having bought your program. Armina B.

  • Will. I gotta know. When you do your walks, are they more a leisurely but constant movement walk? Or are they faster paced cardio minded?

  • Good info, thanks for this information video. At first I was all about the desserts, I would make them not like them and toss what was left. I don’t eat much ‘sweet’ at all anymore. I do think it’s easy to creep up on protein and carbs without even realizing you are doing it.

  • Just happened on you from watching CG. Sub’d. Did you ever figure out what was going on with your elbow? How long did it take to heal? I have an issue with my right elbow. Don’t know how I hurt it as it just came on during my cut? Hurts on the inside right at the bone. I searched it online and it’s called golfers elbow but I don’t play golf. Lol! I’ll have to look into those elbow sleeves. Btw, I’m up in PSL neighbor.

  • Am on IF & Keto since 1st Jul and lost 5Kg. Is it too fast? Experience dumping syndrome probably due to GERD. Due that yesterday my cheat day and today continue.

  • Thanks for the great video Docs, since i have been doing KETO i to have noticed how much better my joints feel Dr. Keith. I to have noticed that the few skin tags i did have are all gone now. You guys are usually dead on when it comes to letting us know all the benefits of doing KETO…

  • Great information I’m trying to make sure I eat food that’s less carbs I eat keto everyday love it I just want to stay in my carb totals a day

  • I eat ice-cream on keto
I’m not a big ice-cream fan but if I’m in the mood once a week in the summer I whip it up. Ppl in my family that aren’t keto L♡V it.
I have 20 carbs a day. I’m more of a salty snack person.
My favorite salty snack now is my cheese crackers……they taste like
cheez-its and are soooooo easy to make in the microwave.
    P.s.
    Dr.Keith you look awesome!!

  • Great video. I have lost about 30 lbs. Pretty satisfied with that. Still doing the fat bombs. Is that a snack that must go? I eat alot of bacon. Not sure about that, long term. Most days carbs are under 5. Fats are the major part of my intake.

  • Thanks for the information, you guys are always informative and helpful. I’m watching your video as I’m making Keto scones …but I think you are absolutely right about the food industry jumping on the bandwagon and selling products that are really processed with hidden ingredients. • Count me in for White Noise!
I’ve used white noise for at least 30 years. It is SO helpful at blocking out the sounds of the neighborhood.
Right now I’m working on darkening my room. Recently started working graveyard shift and sleep is HARD!
I used to sleep sooooo well, and now? I sleep 3 hours and then wake up and The Sandman rushes out the door, never to be seen again.
My days off are used for sleeping now. Not my favorite way to spend my off time.

  • Oh my goodness Keith. He tripped and fell? I am glad he is ok.
I slipped in the shower last week. I am blessed to have caught myself on my right side and did not break anything. I was sore for a few days. My wrist is still sensitive.
Carbs are crazy. I had eaten way too many during the stay at home time and I could feel the blood sugar issues returning, the cravings for more carbs, sweets, etc. It was horrible. It has taken me about 2 weeks to get back on track. I couldn’t do my intermittent fasting without feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I am finally not craving more snacks carby foods or sweets.
I upped my veggies and healthy fats like butter and olive oil.
    Feel so much better mow.
    Great video 2 Fit Docs!

  • I firmly believe the skin, hair, and nails are maps to what’s going on inside. We are wonderfully made by God and He makes it easy to diagnose things if we only knew what to look at/for.

  • I make ice cream with strawberries or blueberries and coconut milk, egg yolks and we LOVE it! I don’t feel deprived just satisfied and calm.

  • I find protein, (because it is low carb) is tough for me! I crave it as much if not more than sugars now that I am off carbs. Thanks for mentioning keto snacks. Now that I do not have artificial sweeteners and the flour….oh, yes, it makes a huge difference.

  • snacks?????
    so we got meat
    than we got fish
and then we got snacks that are meat and fish combined
    COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
    you guys are killing me!!!!!!!!!

  • Also… I LOVE your YouTube channels! I’ve learned a great deal from all your projects and information… it’s been a tremendous help in staying informed and educated in this way of eating, and has given me confidence I’m on the right path to wonderful improvements in my health. Thank you for ALL you do to educate and provide data and research (and the sacrificing… pricking of fingers, etc)… you’re both truly a great asset to the research and community for the low carb and ketogenic way of eating. Thank you!

  • Great tips, thanks! I personally don’t test ketones all the time, but I keep my carbs very low most of the time. I’ve had very good success losing and maintaining about 100 pounds of weight loss. • The tunnel vision occurs as your brain starts running on ketones. It’s a superior fuel source for your body. Don’t know why Greg APART from muscle growth doesn’t recommend it

  • Funny. You could have done some more research and picked up keto friendly snacks to keep you happy. I’ve been keto for 3 years. It would be tough if all I ate were eggs and avocado’s lol. There are breads, cakes, chocolate and candy that are friendly… but yea. At least you sampled it. I don’t crave donuts cuz I can have donuts… but maybe you don’t have keto bakeries where you live. I have like 4 within 15mins. 2 keto pizzarias 5 mins away and 2 bbq houses. Lol. You went mad clean which can get you Moody. I go between clean and dirty keto to stay sane. Kool video though.

  • I eat ice-cream on keto

  • it’s been 15 months since I seriously cut out carbs & I still am blown away by how much better I feel & how much more balanced my blood sugar is!! I didn’t need to lose weight but I was insulin resistant & my hormones were out of control. It’s amazing how my hormones have been affected in a very positive way! thanks Drs

  • Ramen is the producer of the ultimate pump! Haha-in all seriousness though, I use 1/2 the flavor packet and it’s just as delicious!

  • Would like to see you do the diet for 20 days I’m at 35% body fat and dropped 23 pounds in 4 and a half weeks. Loved this video. I was watching fast food porn for 2 weeks until i got over it. Had glycemic episodes on 5th and 12th days but didnt need sugar to get back just a gulp of protein chicken, steak etc

  • Low carb fixed my general anxiety during perimenopause! Carbs really intensify anxiety and depression because they make your blood sugar go up and down. My Dr wanted me to try antidepressants but I had said no because they can cause weight gain. Later I told her low carb fixed my anxiety and she was so excited and said it made perfect sense.

  • I lost 50 pounds on keto and took a break for 4 months and my joint pain came back worse than ever. I’m back on it again for 3 weeks now and the pain is just starting to get better. I still have 30 pounds to lose anyways, might as well.

  • Well I walk around 183 but in the morning I weigh like 181 ish.I’m in the 30% body fat but I try to eat like 50g-100g of carbs but I’m trying to cut either a lb or 2

  • Exactly what we needed to hear today. We are gaining and bloated and realised protein too high, fat too low, carbs too high and portions too high

  • Oh my goodness Keith. He tripped and fell? I am glad he is ok.
I slipped in the shower last week. I am blessed to have caught myself on my right side and did not break anything. I was sore for a few days. My wrist is still sensitive.

  • Ramen noodles have also become a favorite of mine recently. All that sodium is great for replenishing after a long, sweaty workout. Plus, you can load it up with all kinds of veggies, some meat, an egg, etc and it’s a nutritional powerhouse. I like vitaramen a lot.

  • Hi guys, a little background about me. I just turned 65 weight around 180 dealing with diabetes for 27 years and in remission for stage four cancer. I exercise three days a week with weights and hitting the heavy bag. When you said 125 carbs was a good starting point I couldn’t disagree more. I was told by a dietician that eating 240 carbs a day was a good thing. Gee I wonder why I put on so much weight. It wasn’t until I had my heart attack and nearly twenty stay in ICU I switch to IF and eating less carbs of around 60 per day or less. I switched to keto and got my weight at one point down to 165. Now I am back to 180. My biggest problem is around my waist where I am pretty solid every place else.

  • ⚠️ THIS DIET IS BASED OFF THE JLO DIET (which is a version of the KETO DIET, but not exactly)

For a FULL LIST of RULES please go to my Instagram Highlight labeled “NO SUGAR, NO CARBS”: https://www.instagram.com/onthecheaptip/

  • I reversed 15 conditions w/dairy-free keto & not just diabetes & obesity but eczema, CKD, NAFLD,…
I have a great recipe for English muffins/burger bun made w/eggs, almond & coconut flour, flax seeds, oil, & baking soda!

  • having type 2 and lowering my carbs has put my blood sugar under total control. It is not hard to do basically all you are doing is eating normally and cutting crappy bread, pasta, rice and junk food.

  • I was on a low fat diet, no meat for years and couldn’t lose weight. Went on a low carb diet and have everything full fat now and meat in my diet and I am back to the weight when I left school which was nearly 40 yrs ago.

  • Great video! I’ll have to eat what you ate. Love that type of food anyway… not really into the Hunny Bunn, but, I do like my black coffee! Great video!

  • Awesome advice Docs! I can’t stand how the diet industry has coopted Keto and turned it into a sales pitch. Most of their refined snacks have 1/2 your carbs for the day in one serving

  • A good video for most people who are starting out or do need to keep ketones at a therapeutic level, however, as the body gets more and more fat-adapted and the main goal is fat loss, then one might want to lower the fat macro again. A very low carb diet shifts the metabolism to fat-burning, but as long as the daily requirement is met by fat from food, there’s not much reason to tap into body stores.
The protein one…. it’s still not 100% clear. Many people can eat quite a bit of protein without stalling, as long as they keep their calories and carbs low. And those.8 g/kg are what is needed as protein intake if you don’t do anything. The BMR of protein, so to say (I calculated it once via RQ). As soon as someone wants to build lean mass, they should definitely go a little higher than that.
I’ve never tested my ketones once in my life and lost weight, but if you go lower than 20 g carbs/day, there’s no other choice for the body than go into ketogenesis and reach ketosis. And the number on the ketometer is just relevant for people who need to keep it at a therapeutic level. Weight loss can happen without high ketones, and high ketones can happen without weight loss.
ATM I’m back to a low carb, high protein approach with about 50% protein, 40% fat and 10% carbs. I’m satiated that way and don’t tank in my workouts.

  • I agree with you about net carbs. I’ve seen products that have been 42g of carbs with 36g of fiber referred to as “low carb” and “Keto friendly.” I can’t believe this could be healthy for a Keto lifestyle.

  • Also… I LOVE your YouTube channels! I’ve learned a great deal from all your projects and information… it’s been a tremendous help in staying informed and educated in this way of eating, and has given me confidence I’m on the right path to wonderful improvements in my health. • What will happen eating sugar long term is a heart attack. Asteoscleroris is caused by sugar. That’s proven. If you think that eating donuts is more important that you own life. Well what can I say…

  • I make ice cream with strawberries or blueberries and coconut milk, egg yolks and we LOVE it! I don’t feel deprived just satisfied and calm.

  • The reason why I cant do lowcarb or keto…just never felt good on it…even with electrolytes & berries added still felt like shit

  • Seriously love your personality. Subscribed! Low carb and low sugar is considered dirty keto. Keto consists of MODERATE protein and HIGH fats. Since you were getting not that much fat but tons of protein, your body was lacking nutrients. That’s why you were dizzy.

  • Look into Ray Peat. Sugar isn’t the problem. More so health issues begin when you cut it out. Matt Blackburn, Kate Deering and Danny Roddy are great people to look into. Many people who have gone keto to carnivore are now following Ray Peats way of eating to recover/regain health.

  • answer to his questions:
    1. he is having a headaches coz his brain is getting ketones. it was on sugar before, so it’s a good thing. something is working

  • Why in the world would I have to give up my homemade IceCream…Oooh no
Admitted, I eat IceCream maybe a couple of times in a month, at the most.
    I eat it as a full-blown Meal…Not as a treat.
My Ice is made of Creme fraiche (18%fat4.5% Sugar), Yogurt (3.5%fat3.5% Sugar),
and egg-yolk as an emulsification agent + Vanilla extract.
Whey-protein powder with taste, as an option (3-4% sugar).
Still, it is a Carnivorish IceCream…I think

  • Hello! I’ve noticed improvements in my skin and joints and weight loss of course. However, the most impressive difference/improvement that will keep me keto for life is the fact that my asthma is not a controlling factor in my life anymore. I used to need an inhaler multiple times a day to the point where I wouldn’t even walk the dogs without one in my pocket. Now I have a disk (Advair?) that I was using twice a day and now maybe twice a week. I don’t even think about it. Even things that used to cause me allergies have no affect on me anymore. I know most people, myself included begin with wanting to lose weight ( I was 206 lbs) and couldn’t shake it no matter what I did. I am now around 123 pounds and feel like my health belongs to me again. As I continue for the moms I am noticing improvements in my stretchmarks and sagging belly (4 kids) not disappearing but genuinely improving.:) I wish I knew about this 30 years ago.

  • I was wondering about protein on Keto, it seems so contradictory. On one hand they say too much protein you won’t lose weight, then you have the Carnivore diet, which is all protein and you lose weight

  • Truly enjoyed this and the Gogginns and kinobody videos
Have been checking out more but these are the two I enjoyed more.

Have you researched the Dolce Diet by Mike Dolce?

Look into it and try a week.

Again, thanks for the videos and the fun moments of sarcasm along with Ollie popping up here and there.

  • Been on a Keto diet since Oct 2018 and once I became Keto adaptive I have had zero hunger cravings. Since I have a hypothyroid over 40 years my carbs have to be lower than 15 carbs a day.

  • After learning more about sugar and how it effects you, I’ve limited sugar to almost zero and have seen and felt such a difference. The latest thing I am learning more about is prolonged fasting. Love your videos. Would love to see you do a 7+ day fast.

  • Boy when u got excited over that honey bun,,,,
This 10 day challenge is basically keto except we eat dairy and the fruit is berries & starfruit,

When u felt bad u needed electrolytes, no sugar Gatorade, sprinkle pink Himalayan salt on everything helps too

  • i would never thought i be able to give up pasta, bread, potato CARBS etc…. but now i don’t miss it because i feel good!!!! great video!!

  • Heard about your heart attack John. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Youre a great bodybuolder and fitness guru but most importantly.a loving father.

  • I agree with you about net carbs. I’ve seen products that have been 42g of carbs with 36g of fiber referred to as “low carb” and “Keto friendly.” I can’t believe this could be healthy for a Keto lifestyle.

  • Exactly what we needed to hear today. We are gaining and bloated and realised protein too high, fat too low, carbs too high and portions too high

  • After learning more about sugar and how it effects you, I’ve limited sugar to almost zero and have seen and felt such a difference. The latest thing I am learning more about is prolonged fasting. Love your videos. Would love to see you do a 7+ day fast.

  • Chili ramen is the BEST!!! ( LIME GREEN PACKAGE)
add cilantro, lemon, grape tomatoes, salami slices, a raw egg, and sour cream.
But use 3 packages and the seasoning.
Oh yes. Black pepper cracked, & spring water extra water for broth, ok there’s where the sour dough comes in.

  • The most surprising thing for me has been a drastic improvement in my dental health. I’ve had bone grafts, root canals, and have a couple of implants; I was on a quarterly cleaning schedule to help preserve what I have left. For the past 3 or 4 visits the hygienist has remarked at how “perfect” my teeth are. Yesterday they said “let’s schedule you four months out and if all goes well, we can probably go to a six month schedule.” Now THAT is a positive change that makes me very happy! Thanks for another great video, Docs!

  • Awesome video! I find that when my diet is heavy in sugars/carbs, my hair greys much faster! When I follow a low sugar/carb diet, the color actually returns to my hair. It’s amazing!! Thank you for the video. I find your content to be very encouraging!! ☺️

  • I lost 13lbs the first week but I was trying to eat 1450 calories a day. Was actually a challenge because I got sick of meat but I’ve found alternatives and I’ll keep going. My starting weight was 190lbs.

  • Minimal hot flashes/flushes, if any at all. I also take DIM to help, but I noticed that if I do eat refined carbs, the hot flushes increase. Used to crave ice cream but no more cravings. I occasionally make a frozen avocado smoothie if I want something like ice cream.

  • When I eat a high carb snack or meal (like a piece of cake), 3 hours later my blood sugar plummets. That is a terrible feeling. I almost feel panicked and will eat ANYTHING! Shaky, sweaty. That is the reason I can pass on the cake at the party…it’s not worth it! Plus, I stay slim and healthy. I look at the 30 year olds (I’m 53) who can barely walk, and I think “Yes, it is worth it.”

  • Not only do you give a ton of useful and honest info and advice, you also show people how to be a good dad and use your platform to spread positive things. I absolutely love that.

  • i think you should do this again and think of keto desserts. for example greek yogurt plain with added stevia, peanut butter and some protein microwaved brownie bites. I go no carbs or sugar for a week before events and having keto sweets makes it soooooo much easier.

  • Permit me to endorse low carb also… been that way going on three years. And all of my skin tags gone, surprise! My weight reduced (except some gain during the lock down), my blood markers great, and as of this week also is my Coronary Calcuim Scan score. Two years ago scan was 223…this week scan is down to 96. I solidly attribute the gains in my health to changing what and how I eat! And appreciate “two fit docs’ for all the knowledge shared. They have helped my journey…Thanks!

  • I am 61 and have lost about 60 lbs. I walk 5-6 miles every morning. Haven’t eaten sugar this year (except for a couple of special occasions). Love your videos! Never going back to my old ways!

  • Great video, good to see your kid showing off his skills! Very important especially at that age to be reminded you’re cool, talented, smart and appreciated:). Btw John if you see this can you let me know your opinion on quinoa? I used to have brown rice everytime with my salmon and veg but the other day I tried quinoa for the first time and loved it! Any opinions on it?

  • Cheese is a staple with keto actually. Especially aged cheddar omg and if you use almond flour to bake some cakes… you can have cake hahaha it’s great. Plus you can have bacon, burgers, sausages, cream sauce (to put on low carb pasta) peanut butter…

The only hard part is when you live at your parents house and they don’t really care about carbs so it’s all around you. Plus lactose intolerant. But I got pills for that so it’s fine.

  • Can you do an episode on how Dr. Keith is dealing with a damaged metabolism from years of insulin resistance. Do you think your metabolism can be repaired through Keto by making your cells sensitive to insulin again or do we need to accept the damage to our system and make permanent dietary and lifestyle changes?

  • Hi, I loved your video I have been on low carb no sugar for a few months now and I have lost 8 kilos, sure it was hard at first but much easier now, I feel great I found your video very informative, I was astonished at the connection to skin tags, I have a few which I am looking forward to watch disappear now, once again thanks.

  • no need for carbohydrates in human diet. carbs are not essential. no need for fiber in human diet. conversion to vitamin a is difficult for most.

  • Came for the “2 lbs in 2 days?!?!” from the thumbnail, which is discussed at 13:23. Not gonna call it clickbait, but it is very close. It’s only one week, and cutting sugar/carbs means nothing in terms of weight loss on its own. It ultimately comes down to caloric deficit. Also, just fyi, a 500 mL bottle of water weighs 1.1 pounds, so drinking two of those is more than 2 pounds. Moreover, the bathroom scale is not a reliable method of calculating any of those body measurements check out this article showing a study that found 21%-32% inaccuracies in measurements by common bathroom scales: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/body-fat-scale-accuracy#pros-and-cons (the “best” scale was off by 21%, that’s huge!). And even if there is some intra-measurement consistency, it is not enough to be reliable when talking about tenths of a percent as he does in this video.

Tl;dr: reducing sugar from the standard American diet is a great thing! But don’t expect to lose 2 pounds in one week just from doing that. Combine your reduced-sugar plan with increased protein and good carbs, and an overall caloric deficit . That’s how to consistently and reliably lose weight until you hit plateaus that may require some tweaking.

  • I made hubby breakfast and supper on Father’s Day. The only thing that was keto was the broccoli salad with supper. I had more carbs in that one day period than I have had on any other day, in ages. The next day, I couldn’t get out of bed until 1 in the afternoon from the pain in my joints. I slept and did a LOT of stretching to just be able to get out of bed. Hubby asked what was wrong and he was shocked to find out the little amount of food I had the day before had that much effect on me. Keto is great for getting rid of inflammation! He now truly understands why I am so strict about what I eat. (I’m not a reach for a pill kind of person unless I really have to)

  • Wow. The difference between this video and the videos you’re putting out now show how much this channel has grown and it’s awesome!!

  • What is the name/brand of the instrument you use to measure your ketones and blood sugar? Is it available to the public without a doctor’s Rx?

  • I think i could definitely do this diet because I can eat the same thing every day and not be bothered by it! I put hot sauce in my eggs and add in whatever veg I have in the fridge… sometimes throw in some bacon or chicken. I find adding different ingredients and the hot sauce really switches it up while still eating eggs every day!

  • I made it a full year on pure <20 keto....now in isolation...I'm backsliding a tad. I'll let myself indulge for another couple weeks then get back on for year 2. I still have another 20 pounds to shed. CV doesn't help.

  • I wish she included more vegetarian options. I’m a female trucker and I used to load in slaughterhouses. There is no way I could consume meat, but I do try and keep my carbs low.

  • I’m pretty sure we can’t get Elk, here in the UK. Thankfully we do get Liver. Lol.
Cold cuts, Hard boiled eggs, Berries & Cheese are me & hubbies go to snacks, not all at once though.
Thank you muchly for sharing this important information with us all. Take care, stay safe, & Happy Weekend everybody. ❤

  • What I figured out for ME is, I did strict Keto for about 12 weeks then I started playing with Protein (increasing) and slightly decreasing fats and also slightly increasing carbs but still keeping them low (under 45 grams) and testing myself with the changes. This is allowing me to learn my protein and carb thresholds. The best thing to do is test yourself to learn what works for your body. Great tips. So glad Maddy made an appearance too. (I have a MaddyRose).

  • Number one benefit is I no longer need my asthma meds. I have also lost 60lbs so far and I feel better than ever. Thanks for your great videos!

  • Hey I have a question ever since I started Keto I’ve had this weird pressure in my feet. it feels like they’re tightening up. When I go to sleep it dose it and I end up waking up because I’m scratching my toes like to relieve it can you think of anything that this could be. thx…all as what do you think of the SNAKE JUICE fast?

  • Eating lectins causes inflammation, and totally sabotages weight loss.
So… the worst lectin offenders are peanut butter, tomatoes, peppers, beansnever eat beans!!!!!

  • I reversed 15 conditions w/dairy-free keto & not just diabetes & obesity but eczema, CKD, NAFLD,…
I have a great recipe for English muffins/burger bun made w/eggs, almond & coconut flour, flax seeds, oil, & baking soda!

  • Surprising to see you reference RDA 0.8 protein/kg. RDA also says eat fruit daily, low fat, etc. Why did you use this reference? (not snide, just curious)

  • I think I’ve let carb creep happen. I probably eat too much protein and not enough fat! I have to rethink some things. Thanks I run a fan for noise,i can’t sleep without it. I think I will look at your 21 day challenge.

  • I have heard that a breathalyzer can detect acetone on your breath. Does the a breathalyzer differentiate between alcohol and acetone? Does someone on a Keto diet have to fear failing a breathalyzer test by the police?

  • I wish I could find a chiropractor that didn’t insist on doing totally unnecessary x-rays. I have not been to a chiropractor since about 1973 because of this. See how greed is self destructive? Like our local hospital that gives everyone an I-V regardless of need, just for the extra $$.

  • Actually good results for just a week imagen if he would do it a whole month how he would look even better or even 2 months would be very lean

  • So there’s no mention of being sedentary? I find that’s also a mistake to be on a lot of keto snacks and not watching caloric intake and not really working out.

  • I have the same type waist, a little wide at the bottom. It means we are bad asses and have big banana wieners. Girls like banana wieners

  • Been on the keto way of eating for 11 months, lost over 75 inches and 75 pounds, still have skin tags on my neck and under arms, have about 130 pounds more to lose and I’m 60 years old,the weight is fighting me every step of the way I have intermittent fasted since day one, no off plan eating, even have done alternate day fasting, and two day fasting is when I drop the most water weight plus I quit smoking Dec. 28.

  • so we can say that choosing between a cup of milk with oats and a cup of milk with almonds, the almonds one will not gonna make u as fat as the oats??

  • Being carb addicted is mentally and physically exhausting. I know and have felt the benefit of low carb I haven’t been able to stick with it. I really want sweets. =/ I don’t get it.

  • I would like to offer a sixth reason, the mental alertness. Cognitive processes seem much better. Specifically “brain fog” begins to slowly disappear.

  • Jasmine rice is also my favorite! If my carbs are pretty low due to contest prep I find myself trying to get the fiber in but not too many carbs-I love blackberries! You may mention those but I’m only to the rice part! Love your content!!

  • What will happen eating sugar long term is a heart attack. Asteoscleroris is caused by sugar. That’s proven. If you think that eating donuts is more important that you own life. Well what can I say…

  • With regards to win/lose weight, energy balance is the whole issue. A 2K calorie intake versus 1’5K waste will resault in weight gain, regardless yoy ate carb or non-carb food. This is where keto theory fails.

  • I am quite jealous of these hard gainers that have trouble getting enough food down. I literally could eat meat, potatoes, rice and veggies until I explode

  • You guys are great! Question: have you evaluated the difference between walking as exercise vs the gym and weight training in getting the keto numbers to go up? Low vs high impact? I’m seeing vastly different results and it makes me curious.

  • Net carbs just complicate life and allow for sneaky manipulations in labeling. I don’t bother with counting carbs in leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables, but I have already recovered my insulin sensitivity, many aren’t there yet. I do make allowances for homemade keto snacks, particularly for kids and special occasions (now only use erythritol, through trial and error)… then again, we regularly test for glucose and ketone levels, both to learn and modify as we progress.

  • I have a coworker that just like to eat the Ketogenic Way. He likes one Keto snack a day, like one 2″ x 2″ Keto Brownie or Fat Bomb. He says it is his after work treat. Yes, people make mistakes on this diet.

  • I am finding it hard to get the right kind of fats. So many saturated fats. Losing weight but not seeing the reduction in my LDLs I’m going for.

  • Seen your most recent video and now looking through your older vids for more yoyo tricks, we know who is becoming the star now lol. very informative, thank you.

  • Try whole30! It’s very similar but you can have potatoes. It doesn’t look like you’re eating enough probably. My guess is you got super tired. Props for doing this! It’s a major change!

  • I reached my weight loss goal within 6 months. I recently learned about lectins. And cut out my lectin foods, tomatoes, peanut butter, beans of every kind. I would eat these things even on keto, at least once in a while. And I began losing weight again. Not even expecting it.

  • Well I walk around 183 but in the morning I weigh like 181 ish.I’m in the 30% body fat but I try to eat like 50g-100g of carbs but I’m trying to cut either a lb or 2

  • Sourdough bread is by far THE BEST CARB AND ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG! Just kidding. I make a pretty mean sourdough and when I make a few loaves, it’s all I want to eat. Even plain, it’s SO GOOD!

  • I reached my weight loss goal within 6 months. I recently learned about lectins. And cut out my lectin foods, tomatoes, peanut butter, beans of every kind. I would eat these things even on keto, at least once in a while. And I began losing weight again. Not even expecting it.

  • The greatest thing I ever did was got off the Keto diet and then I learned to eat whole foods and yes calories matter on any diet. I eat plenty of fruit, whole grain bread. lean meats and I am mentally happy and thin. On Keto I was depressed with low energy. Portions matter it’s all about calories. You could loose weight eating candy bars if you do not go over your calories:)

  • White rice makes me bloated af i store a lot of water on my skin rather than in the muscle so it literally kills my insulin sensitivity how i look before and after breakfast when i eat white rice is like night and day

  • Dr. Keith, if you want to alleviate the ringing in your ears (just a temporary assist) by looking up (on YouTube) for Tinnitus Relief. My husband has worked around heavy machinery for the past 45 years as a hydroelectric operator. He suffers from tinnitus and 98% hearing loss. That “thumping” on the back of his head just above his neck may seem implausible, but it works well for a few minutes…enough to allow you to seek REM. I further recommend picking up a small bottle of NuLeaf CBD oil. It has 0.03% THC. I feel that taking one dropper (10 drops) sublingually every evening just before bed has made all of the difference in my achieving not only fully restorative sleep, but to help lower my FBG. I’ve started with Keto in June 2016 when diagnosed with T2 with an A1C of 9.1. Keto helped me lose 40 lbs in 4 months and achieve an A1C of 5.1. Five months later, when I received a diagnosis of Stage III, Class C HER2+, Keto helped me deal with the pain, the nausea, the Stage 2 neuropathy from the paclitaxel, but it’s easy to become complacent when sedentary while recovering from DMX then a 6+hour-long foot reconstruction surgery. As of now, I;m in my third year of full remission. I am now following Carnivore (mostly…roasted asparagus is my Achilles Heel), and have been diligent in my food tracking with the free version of MFP. I use a glucometer every morning upon rising. Last Thursday, I was 156 and this morning, 102. I’ve gone from 311 last week to 303 this morning. I’m hoping to lose sufficient weight for a DIEP. If you have any curiosity about my journey, I’m on FB under “Easy Keto Fighting Disease As Kathleen” and it’s public. I keep my personal wall for my personal views regarding politics and religion with my friends. Posting everyday with my weight, my FBG and photos/video snippets of my recipes and meals keeps me honest. If I can help anyone avoid those three words, “you have cancer” or “you have Diabetes”, I’m happy to share myself. It’s my way of thanking God for sparing me and allowing me to stay with my Beloved husband and family. God Bless you both for your time and effort in this battle to help others help themselves! ❤️

  • From my understanding of keto, people say it’s a LOW carb high fat diet. Not no carbs. At least from the articles I read. So you could at least have a little per day.

  • I noticed you ate a lot of meats during this diet. How exactly would a vegetarian be able to embark on this diet? Like, which foods would be feasible?

  • FYI, I see there’s no pasta on this list (and probably rightfully so) but if y’all ever get a chance to try the red lentil pasta from Trader Joe’s, it’s a much better macro split than regular pasta and will work as a sub when you have a pasta craving (I typically just do some pesto sauce)

  • You don’t have to give up ice cream or the bun on your burger to go low carb. You just have to buy or eat a keto alternative. I don’t care about the bun but I do care about ice cream occasionally, and I’ve gotten great results with some of the store bought keto ice cream that I’ve tried.

  • Hi Dr. Becky! I am doing the 21 Day Keto challenge and I can’t get all the food eaten. Most days I don’t go over 1000 calories. I feel fine, and I eat when I’m hungry. I feel like my body is just so happy to just burn fat, that it never tells me to eat. Is this okay? I even get a little gag going if I try to eat everything.

  • So there’s no mention of being sedentary? I find that’s also a mistake to be on a lot of keto snacks and not watching caloric intake and not really working out.

  • You guys are great! Question: have you evaluated the difference between walking as exercise vs the gym and weight training in getting the keto numbers to go up? Low vs high impact? I’m seeing vastly different results and it makes me curious.

  • Coming from someone who has been on keto for 7 months. It is much easier than this seems. After about 2 weeks all cravings go away. You lose weight very quickly, don’t get so grumpy, but of course sometimes still want the foods you miss

  • Awesome video! I find that when my diet is heavy in sugars/carbs, my hair greys much faster! When I follow a low sugar/carb diet, the color actually returns to my hair. It’s amazing!! Thank you for the video. I find your content to be very encouraging!! ☺️

  • Thank u for being so real about the aspects not being fun. Lots of people don’t highlight how hard these challenges are. Its great to look good but I hate when people pretend like it’s easy. Celebs live like that cuz they get paid insane amounts to do that to their body. Yeah, I want to be skinny, but no one’s paying me to be skinny so it is harder.

  • Do your research Dr. Oz.

    Ugh.

And if you eat that bun, you are not now on a, “high fat, high calorie diet.”… It would be bad to eat the bun because you are now on a high fat, high SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR diet.

    Oh, Dr. OZ.

    PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH!

    Keto and IF for LIFE!

  • the problem I have with this is I have no gallbladder and I can’t digest fats so what do you do this kind of diet work for people with no gallbladder or what

  • I was wondering about protein on Keto, it seems so contradictory. On one hand they say too much protein you won’t lose weight, then you have the Carnivore diet, which is all protein and you lose weight

  • From my understanding of keto, people say it’s a LOW carb high fat diet. Not no carbs. At least from the articles I read. So you could at least have a little per day.

  • Regarding bacon, I tend to avoid sodium nitrates. If you look carefully, you can find that bacon without sodium nitrates. Bacon tastes just fine without it.

  • I hate to say it but six years ago I had a knee replacement, not fun. At that time I did not know about Keto diets/Carnivore. I swear to you had I known I might never have needed that operation. It has made a huge difference in my life and your vids have helped.

  • Interesting video, thanks. I think eliminating ALL carbs bit unnecessary to be honest. Sugar, well that makes more sense. BTW where do you get the cool scale!?

  • Love your videos. So informative for us beginners. I. Appreciate you guys! ❤️…To go totally off subject…is to just me or does Becky sometimes remind you of Anna Gestyer on “Delicious Dish” skit on SNL? Lol. It cracks me up sometimes. I just wait for them to say “good times”. Lol. No offense, i get a kick out of it. I loved Delicious Dish and totally enjoying you guys too! ☺️ keep up the great work!❤️

  • What is your view on counting calories (along with macros)? I do both and am down 65 since August but I read a lot about not worrying/counting calories.

  • I’ve really gotten off the wagon.. and am totally addicted once again.. Food is really on my mind constantly…I ordered your program Becky and did so well for about a year and a half.. and felt so good.. I know getting off of carbs works.. and I’ve got to get back to it.. Thank you for continuing your videos.. My body is sooo tired.. and I’m ready to get back on board..Judy in Tennessee..

  • I have seen several videos dealing with the Keto diet, but this one was simple, plain, and had enough information to be quite useful. I have tried to adopt the Keto diet but find that carbs are hard to avoid and somewhat addictive…at least for me. For those times when I get a real craving, especially between meals, I try to keep vegetables like olives, radishes, green peppers, or celery on hand.

  • Awesome advice Docs! I can’t stand how the diet industry has coopted Keto and turned it into a sales pitch. Most of their refined snacks have 1/2 your carbs for the day in one serving

  • You are so freakn funny and adorable!!! When u said no carbs I screamed!! I love potatoes n rice not so much a sweets person but omg I need my caffeine. You should of done a mexican omelette. Lol the end had me giggling like crazy❤

  • Rob you have such a great personality and I love watching your channel. I’ve learned such a lot too, you definitely need your own tv show. ❤️

  • I’ve  lost twenty pounds in twenty days just eating eggs, grapefruit some berries, a few cukes,  asparagus,  very little cabbage, a few oranges. chicken breast, a couple pork chops., one 500 calorie burger..if  I can  lose ten more pounds and I’ll try a few more things, never sugar, bread, pizza, candy, ice cream at night..

  • I’m considering a keto diet and wondering if sprouted grain bread like Ezekiel english muffins are ok. They are sprouted grain, and flourless.

  • Too many people still have a mind set of calories in calories out instead of learning about insulin resistance and hormones like insulin and vitamin D and blood sugar levels and sleep and stress reduction.
It helped me to GO AHEAD and EAT A HIGH PROTEIN breakfast of 4 eggs sunnyside up with runny yolks cooked in unrefined cold pressed virgin coconut oil.

  • You are do adorable, I want to be friends with you, enjoy that Honey Bun. You did a great job on this diet and you have inspired me to try it. I’m at 145lbs, so let’s see what happens.

  • I just stumbled upon these videos. I just turned 60 and are heavier than ever and have always eaten “clean” as I can with a whole plant based diet. I also exercise 3 days a week, but continue to gain. I have been tested with no blood sugar issues. But I continue to gain. I really need help understanding why do choose this diet? How do I know that I could be “insulin resistant”? I also don’t like the fact that these people are also into selling. I am just looking for answers. Thanks for any help.

  • Minimal hot flashes/flushes, if any at all. I also take DIM to help, but I noticed that if I do eat refined carbs, the hot flushes increase. Used to crave ice cream but no more cravings. I occasionally make a frozen avocado smoothie if I want something like ice cream.

  • I would like to offer a sixth reason, the mental alertness. Cognitive processes seem much better. Specifically “brain fog” begins to slowly disappear.

  • it’s been 15 months since I seriously cut out carbs & I still am blown away by how much better I feel & how much more balanced my blood sugar is!! I didn’t need to lose weight but I was insulin resistant & my hormones were out of control. It’s amazing how my hormones have been affected in a very positive way! thanks Drs

  • Dear Docs, where do you stand on Carnivore.. would love you’re input.
I am fat adapted, at GW, 62 yr old female, do exercise. Maintaining xs 5 mos

  • I was on a low fat diet, no meat for years and couldn’t lose weight. Went on a low carb diet and have everything full fat now and meat in my diet and I am back to the weight when I left school which was nearly 40 yrs ago.

  • I have a coworker that just like to eat the Ketogenic Way. He likes one Keto snack a day, like one 2″ x 2″ Keto Brownie or Fat Bomb. He says it is his after work treat. Yes, people make mistakes on this diet.

  • Coming from someone who has been on keto for 7 months. It is much easier than this seems. After about 2 weeks all cravings go away. You lose weight very quickly, don’t get so grumpy, but of course sometimes still want the foods you miss

  • I’ve really gotten off the wagon.. and am totally addicted once again..

  • I am 61 and have lost about 60 lbs. I walk 5-6 miles every morning. Haven’t eaten sugar this year (except for a couple of special occasions). Love your videos! Never going back to my old ways!

  • Always re-watch you vids to refresh some of the info for my training and decided to give this one a go. Cant help notice how much better your son has gotten on that yoyo. Lol also noticed how much more comfortable hes also gotten in front of the camera in recent vids, too.

  • Am on IF & Keto since 1st Jul and lost 5Kg. Is it too fast? Experience dumping syndrome probably due to GERD. Due that yesterday my cheat day and today continue.

  • What is your view on counting calories (along with macros)? I do both and am down 65 since August but I read a lot about not worrying/counting calories.

  • The tunnel vision occurs as your brain starts running on ketones. It’s a superior fuel source for your body. Don’t know why Greg APART from muscle growth doesn’t recommend it

  • I noticed you ate a lot of meats during this diet. How exactly would a vegetarian be able to embark on this diet? Like, which foods would be feasible?

  • It’s been a month a month now I’m on my LCIF OMAD bec Im trying to lose weight. I’m a carbs person super super carbs. Since I gave up on it I lost 6kls. And I notice my face getting younger and brighter.
I still it carbs by baking almond or coconut bread.

  • Hi Dr.

  • I have very little interest in Keto baking. Too much like Frankenfood to me. I do love berries (and a bit of frozen melon) and quality dark choc as treats.

  • Salt,
Watch the salt especially if you have kidney disease and high blood pressure. Canned meats and deli foods should be avoided. A lot of deli meats & k meats have added sugars like him.

  • Human body: evolves so that it can make energy from sugar and carbs with nearly 100% efficiency
Will: Maybe I have a dependency towards sugar and carbs.

  • Thanks for the great video Docs, since i have been doing KETO i to have noticed how much better my joints feel Dr. Keith. I to have noticed that the few skin tags i did have are all gone now. You guys are usually dead on when it comes to letting us know all the benefits of doing KETO…

  • Hello Sir. For people without health issues, are high glycemic foods a non factor? I love white rice and sourdough bread. Thank you in advance.

  • Great video. I have lost about 30 lbs. Pretty satisfied with that. Still doing the fat bombs. Is that a snack that must go? I eat alot of bacon. Not sure about that, long term. Most days carbs are under 5. Fats are the major part of my intake.

  • For the record I’m no doctor but you have to eat sugar. It can be only good natural sugar. But you have to have carbohydrates or your liver will begin to shut down because it cannot process all the high protein foods. It’s okay to do for a short period but an extended time will cause your liver to fail.

  • Being carb addicted is mentally and physically exhausting. I know and have felt the benefit of low carb I haven’t been able to stick with it. I really want sweets. =/ I don’t get it.

  • What could possibly happen? When I first learned of net carbs, I thought: what is this sorcery you speak of? At night, turn the wireless printers off. WiFi on, let’s not get crazy, but printers off.

  • When I switched to Keto day number 4 hit me like a ton of bricks, headache and no energy…after the week was done I started feeling great been on it for 10 months, no cravings or hunger.

  • Oh my goodness. I just checked my armpits for my skin tags. They are gone! I have been eating low carb only for a short time. Who would have thought?

  • I can’t believe you ate the honey bun! I’ve watched a couple of your videos and enjoyed them. I subscribed this morning.
    Stay safe!

  • I love this new way of eating! I feel so much better! I’m losing weight & my cravings have gone way down! I feel better now than I have in many years! Carbs have always made me sleepy anyways. Your vides have been very helpful!

  • I have been sick for 5 days and my blood sugar has increased by 12 points, does the body need glucose or produce it when we are sick?

  • Been on a Keto diet since Oct 2018 and once I became Keto adaptive I have had zero hunger cravings. Since I have a hypothyroid over 40 years my carbs have to be lower than 15 carbs a day.

  • I have been sick for 5 days and my blood sugar has increased by 12 points, does the body need glucose or produce it when we are sick?

  • With regards to win/lose weight, energy balance is the whole issue. A 2K calorie intake versus 1’5K waste will resault in weight gain, regardless yoy ate carb or non-carb food. This is where keto theory fails.

  • I wish I could find a chiropractor that didn’t insist on doing totally unnecessary x-rays. I have not been to a chiropractor since about 1973 because of this. See how greed is self destructive? Like our local hospital that gives everyone an I-V regardless of need, just for the extra $$.
