  • Have you tried any of these low sugar cereal options? What’s your favorite cereal—healthy or not!? Mine is a tie between Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Captain Crunch! ��

  • The sludge (crackle you called it?) you used off the bottom of the fryer is something we in Australia call dripping. We used to (and some still do) have a special pot under the sink called a dripping pot that had a sort of strainer lid and we would pour all the oil and crap from roasts and frying into the pot and it would set into a thick fatty gel. We would then use the dripping instead of oil or fat to cook with, and would use it as a base for gravies. It is the greatest thing in the world, all the flavours of past roasts and breakfast bacon all congealed into a perfect frying fat. I highly recommend starting a dripping pot, the longer they are kept the better they get.
    My grandmother used to eat dripping sandwiches, which made me sort of ill watching her.

  • Cereal is AMAZING!! Captain crunch is king to me, especially crunch berries! I don’t eat it much anymore just 2-3 times a month.

  • Never had cheese toast for a school breakfast, though my dad, a Georgian, would make it for breakfast some times. Though, as regional school breakfast go, I grew up in SoCal and sweet bread was pretty common with breakfast.

    These are not low carb cereals. These are just really bad foods that don’t taste super great and you should look into nut oatmeals because you can get them to taste way better than these and they’ll be way healthier for you as well.

  • A tip for anyone.. The red or dark meat and skin are what hold most the fishy or gamey taste that some people don’t like and also most the Mercury or contaminates.. if you get filets with that just trim it all off till you have a clean filet.

  • I am celiac and even tho cheerios say they are gluten free they are NOT safe for celiacs. They are cross contaminated with other things. In Canada (any) cheerios are not allowed to call themselves gluten free for this reason. Any food can say they are gluten free with 20 pp of gluten in it which still isn’t safe for celiacs.

  • I love your content. Growing up in the 80s we lived on lucky charms, frosted mini wheats, wheaties and cookie crisp. Now I would not feed that to my kids (no judgment on my parents, it was a different time.) Once in awhile I give them organic corn flakes with hemp hearts or chia and almond milk.   • This pretty much it as a Avet fisherman you can use red snapper or sculpin or sheepshead or grouper it all works good for fish tacos. One thing I would would and is cilantro to your cream sauce around two table spoons also if you chop some avocado squares it throws another level to those tacos.

    Also a alternative if people don’t like the cream sauce you can use a cilantro avocado / lime cream sauce. It’s great we use these on the boasts when we cook fresh fish tacos.

It’s too expensive for me but peaked my curiosity, would love to see a video on them! Cereal and I have mostly broken up because I’ve realized it’s empty eating and I tend to eat at least two bowls or one big bowl at a time because I love it so much.   • I tried a similar product from another company. As typical, all of these things are over priced and not very good. And they’re almost impossible to cook perfectly.

  • Maybe a solution is having a cup of Kix + 1/4 cup of something sweet. Or some combination. That way you get more cereal but still get sweet. Idk. I don’t like cereal.

  • When I eat a special rice squares cereal, I use soymilk. All organic ingredients, and not many ingredients in the cereal. To help fill me more I just make a drink of a scoop of vanilla protein powder from DoTerra and water separately.

    Also, nobody has a commercial pressure cooker in their home including you. So this is just really good fried chicken, not KFC.

  • I really like your recipes. They’re all simple and make good sense, if you know what I mean. I watched all of the fish taco recipes on YT, and your’s just seemed the easiest and most delicious. Sometimes when these other cooks get too “fancy,” they just lose me. I don’t think cooking has to be complicated or time consuming, otherwise why bother?? I’m going to try this recipe tonite, but if it’s like the other ones, it’s bound to be good!
    P.S. I’ve discovered a little secret for making the beer batter even better, and light as air. Just buy the “self rising” flour, not the other kinds. It has all of the ingredients you need for battering, without having put in anything else. Just add one beaten egg and enough beer to get the right consistency, and get raves. This flour is AMAZING, believe me.

  • I made this last night and WOW! Used gluten free flour and club soda but my bf couldn’t tell and said these tasted exactly like a restaurant.   • In Jr high in California in the 90’s there was a cheese roll you could get. It had a little bit of onion on if I recall correctly. They were only available on Fridays. When they were hot they were heavenly. when cold they were greasy and yucky.

  • Thanks for saving me the trouble of buying these; I’d been wary as it was. The packaging (once opened) looks exactly like the “Devour” brand. When it’s on sale (Red Baron) I’ll stick to the french bread version where I can eat 1 per day for lunch and spread that cost out to 2 days.

  • All of these cookies have sugar in some form, and this will make you GAIN weight if you eat many of them. Honey, coconut sugar, and bananas all have lots of sugar. Sugar is bad for you. All of these are just like white sugar with a few vitamins & a little fiber in the case of the bananas. This is either ignorant or a scam. If it tastes sweet, it’s bad for you. Period.

  • Yes we used to have those chesse melt sandwiches here in Cali. I never liked em cause they were always dry, soft, and flavorless. It’s not crunchy enough to give it texture, and the chesse is probably processed soy bean oils.

  • My secret to fried chicken is adding pickle juice and hot sauce to the buttermilk as well as the spices plus adding bit of lard to the fry oil and frying a few pieces of bacon in the oil before the chicken. It adds flavor to rhe oil.

  • My current pick for “seemingly healthy” cereal is Heritage Flakes from Nature’s Path. 1 cup has 5 g of sugar, but it also has 5 g of protein and 7 g of fiber, so it’s one of the few cereals that will satisfy me for a while. I also like the the peanut butter flavor of Kashi Go! and it’s super filling because of the soy protein, but it’s much higher in sugar and calories. I also don’t generally buy sugary cereals because I have no sense of portion control. ��(My work supplies some snacks, including cereals, in communal snack kitchens and they just added Lucky Charms to the mix and it’s sooo dangerous, I try to pretend it’s not there.)

  • I did not realize how many herbs and spices are in the KFC chicken’s breading. This video really had me rethink the way things are cooked when you then showed techniques like grating frozen butter for biscuits or ricing mashed potatoes before adding butter to them.

  • As a type 2 diabetic, I watch sugars and don’t eat much cereal. Although, I’d rather choose one for fiber.
    The sugar counts are BEFORE you add milk, almond milk or any other milk. Right? Some people forget they’re adding more sugar with their milk so, thought I’d mention it.
    Great video. Get your healthy proteins in your meals. Getting hungry shortly after a meal is usually because the meal was mostly carbs and not balanced with protein.
    I know your video is centered only on cereal info.

  • Perhaps too late for much of anyone to see this, and maybe a repeat, but I remember that KFC, back in the 1980’s, butchered their chickens differently than they do now. While the chicken (and other items) made here look great, to exactly recreates 80’s KFC, the chicken needed to be cut into 9 pieces (hence the fact they sold 9 piece buckets that contained the equivalent of one chicken) instead of 8 piece buckets.

    First, remove the 4 dark meat pieces (two legs and two thighs) and the two wings per the usual. Then, without breaking or removing the backbone, cut the remaining white meat into three pieces:
    the “back” piece, which is the back bone with about one third of each of the two adjoining breasts
    two remaining “breast pieces”

    The result is one chicken is split into 4 pieces of dark meat and 5 pieces of white meat that can be sold at a higher price than the dark meat. Also, I assume this helped with cooking time as typical whole breasts are larger than other pieces, but this way the twin 2/3-sized breasts and the back are all equal sizes and perhaps require the same cooking time as a thigh.

  • Very interesting some of these are quite imaginative. Don’t overwork the cinnamon though replace it in any recipe with walnuts with nutmeg a much better choice; likewise with vanilla extract it can be replaced with a few drops of other flavouring almond, hazelnut, lemon vanilla and cinnamon are, well just too vanilla!

  • Fact: If you are addicted to sugar (and YES, you can become addicted to sugar-much like some people are addicted to alcohol), these delicious looking cookies are not for you and they sure as hell are not for me. Personally, the ONLY way I can deal with sugar or foods containing sugar (the added kind; not what’s already in fruits and vegetables which gives the latter a much lower glycemic load) is to avoid them ENTIRELY.

    H O W E V E R, I WILL most definitely make these for my grand children because the amount of sugary substances in any of these cookies is far less than what is in a conventional cookie or so many other desserts we give our kids. Besides, there are great nutrients in bananas, apples (preferably organic) carrots, zucchini, large flake oats, peanut butter, almond butter (plain for both; no added sugar in the butters), chia seeds, eggs (if you’re not trying to avoid), almonds, etc. Moreover, these cookies can be adjusted for taste; e.g., substituting raisins for chocolate chips.

    Finally, if my grandchildren pop in, I can make a batch of these goodies in a jiff and if perchance, they are not here long enough to eat them in one fell swoop, I’ll ship them home with what is left,.

    So, I thank Seriousfitness for these wonderful recipes. For sure, they will be used in this house but only for my little darlings.:):):)

  • the calorie counts for these cookies are wrong. For example for the first one, even if you do split the batch into 8 servings, it would not be 80 calories, but almost 110 calories. Almond flour is super high in calories, however if you are eating these for health benefits, they are really nutritious.

  • These are damned good…. Best heated in a toaster oven or regular oven. If you want to make a cheaper version yourself get some frozen texas toast garlic bread and a jar of pizza sauce, the bread usually comes 6 or 8 to a package so you can make multiple sandwiches for close to the same price for just one of these
