  • I love this man! He’s so smart and a great speaker. I bought his book, EAT TO LIVE and it’s outstanding!! I’ve been on a whole food plant based diet since May 1st. I’ve lost 34 lbs and I’m off my blood pressure meds. I can’t wait to see my bloodwork numbers in September. I’m 53 and feel 23!!☺

  • I have been following this and others similar for a year and very little weight loss. I think they are wrong about calories. I saw all the videos that a calorie is not the same for bread vs. carrots, I get it. But that doesn’t seem to work for anyone I know or myself. He said you don’t completely digest beans and half the calories go in the toilet. I just cannot believe that. When I eat until “almost” full and stop and then compare to the restriction of calories, the restriction works for weight loss, and that is for my friends doing the same as me. I think we have proven him wrong on that. So, I think he is totally wrong about calories.

  • Thank you very much i like all greens my diabetic 2 is dropping low all the time but I am not dieting keto did not work for me what else can I use iam76 use a walking frame dont get any exercise have problim with my feet and knees

  • I clearly needed re-educating on nutrition and this talk has made it a no-brainer. Interesting how we do follow the crowd and look where it’s taking us. I can’t believe %90 + of the produce they sell in supermarkets isn’t even real food. This is the wake-up call we all need.

  • I was watching the bakery in Woolworths Australia and what I saw was the baker wth several half moon shape pastries pre cookedfrom puff pastry. He sliced them in half but not all the way through and opened them up. He then filled them up with Apple and cream then closed them up, perfect and easy!

  • It’s crazy how out of touch so many of us have become with our hunger response. I actually am not even sure I fully know what it feels like. My food addictions, even though I’m lean, are powerful especially for sugar and caffeine. I am hopeful I can continue making a change. I definitely feel great 12 days in to Fuhrman’s 10 in 20 plan. Food is so powerful.

  • Great info here. Does his book have an extensive references section in it? The academic in me wants to review the studies for some of the points he mentions.

  • Olive oil intake has been linked with a lower incidence of breast cancer. Hypoxic microenvironment in solid tumors, such as breast cancer, is known to play a crucial role in cancer progression and in the failure of anticancer treatments Published: 14 April 2020

  • I wish the Dr see this comment.
I have osteoporosis, fibromyalgia arthritis. Very bad scoliosis.
I try to eat healthy eating kale cabbage. But I was listening a Dr on YouTube and he said all those greens are bad for osteoporosis. Is that true?

  • There is proof that the S.A.D. was not designed by Al Qaida but rather Nazi scientists who collaborated with the CIA after being captured at the end of WWII. So you weren’t far off.

  • Is not the food, is what they putting in the food, in my country I was able to eat almost everything & still was able to lose weight,in other countries the food is more healthier,in the USA the food is not natural,so don’t blame the food, blame the people that are putting unhealthy things in it!!!

  • I agree with healthy eating, but the stat about British children and sugar consumption being linked to violent arrests later is a stretch. Correlation does not equal causation. Did the kids who ate the most sugar also have inattentive parents? Maybe single parent households where it’s easier to throw candy at the kids to pacify them? Maybe little discipline (indicated by high sugar consumption) is also a cause for violent arrests later.

  • School promoting Halloween and make all the kids obese. Instead of educating the kids they doing the opposite. It is hard for parents to do anything while school and government promoting Halloween( candies). They are not promoting Halloween but candies. It is so sad and parents are helpless.

  • This is my first time watching and I could tell instantly she doesn’t like to eat. She didn’t seem eager to taste the turnovers once they were drizzled. I wasn’t shocked when she addressed it.

In her defense, I wouldn’t feel comfy eating on camera and the aroma of food fills the hunger of most cooks.

  • SAD ratios are misleading. Most of the 30% meat is processed crap. The real ratios are closer to 5% whole plant, 5% real meat, 90% processed. Getting rid of (substituting) the 90% processed is what makes the new diets work, be they vegan or carnivore. Combining fats and carbs probably doesn’t work well, seeing as fat sugar appears to be a highly addictive combo, so choose one or the other. Both choices seem to generate very similar benefits according to annecdotal evidence.

  • 39:58 42:00 the good doctor is on fire!!! This is what motivates me. Fuhrman and Greger are so passionate about helping us. No one has the energy that these two Titans have.

  • He should just stick to health advice and stay out of politics. He just had to put in his two worthless cents about the president. What a small petty person.

  • Dr. Fuhrman is the MAN!! I love how he gets annoyed at his own jokes Thank you so much for posting this!!!

  • It’s crazy how out of touch so many of us have become with our hunger response. I actually am not even sure I fully know what it feels like. • Thanks for the tips.  Honestly, none of those options are worth eating.  If you can change your eating habits to live lean, then you can on your desserts as well.  I used to eat whatever sweet thing was offered.  Now I am picky.  I will only do desserts if it is homemade or something incredibly special.  Just because it’s under 400 calories doesn’t mean it’s worth eating.  You never need to eat it.  When you get your portions figured out for all your meals and your body has had time to adjust to those portion amounts, then I rarely have room for a dessert anyway.  Make it worth it, not just cause it’s there.  Thanks for the vid.

  • Relistened to this talk. To call olive oil an appetite stimulant is to ignore the verified role of olive oil as an appetite supressant, as demonstrated by both research and practice over the years. How can I trust what this guy has to say?

  • What’s cool about this, even though it may seem hard if you’re used to the American diet, is that it’s actually easier. You just have to get educated and motivated and then try it for awhile. Learn how to make delicious foods salads with blended nut and seed and fruit and vinegar dressings, vegetable bean soups, steamed veggies and brown rice or quinoa, maybe with a peanut butter sauce you make from pb, garlic, and the water from steaming the veggies. You don’t have to give up eating, you just eat more of these healthful foods first and put off the unhealthful ones and after awhile you don’t want the unhealthful ones. Like I think about meat sometimes, but I would only want to eat it with lots of greens and onions and mushrooms, celery, and cashews, etc. and then, I’m like I don’t really need it or it would be a flavoring at that point. Or it’d be down at a level, 5% of calories or less, that might not be harmful. So you feel better all the time, don’t have unhealthful cravings, don’t get sick as much or as bad, poop easily, not to mention have lower weight, lower blood sugar, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol right, everything is better including your mood. You can exercise better, you can cook for your friends / family, Your taste buds are better you enjoy food more. It’s at least quite good and perfectly satisfying and you don’t feel like crap when you’re not eating. You might want to start gardening, check out permaculture, and then you don’t need the disease care system, you can save money interesting that “health” insurance costs as much as healthful food. You can turn your back on this but you’re fucking yourself. This actually empowers people it doesn’t sell them garbage that hurts them, it empowers them to take care of themselves.

  • I cannot get decent life insurance because my BMI is deemed too low. I had a DEXA scan and my body fat is actually really normal. I eat mostly the way that the good doctor is telling us to eat but I do have my hiccups and I’m not perfect.

  • Fuhrman is a fruit phobic person. Fruits are the highest foods in antioxidants, and without them, all the diseases overruniing the world-parkinson’s, ms, als-lou gehrigs disease, cancers, infections and viruses, and many more, are possible. Eat lots of fruits, leafy greens, and 10% or less fat (no oils), seeds mostly rather than nuts.

  • Thanks for the great recipes! trying to change my eating habits atm 😉 but can i use oatmeal/oat flour instead of regular flour? would it be the same texture or would it act different? Thanks!

  • The way the “facts” are linked into logical patterns is impressive. But I question many of the assumptions being presented as “facts”. Olive oil does not raise insulin levels and has an established role in mediteranean cuisine as a proven satiator, as a means to suppress appetite. So how does it all of a sudden become an appetite stimulator?

  • I just had a food binge.the day before i ate raw beans onion carrots.

My gut was wrecked the next morning i couldnt think and felt inflammation into my brain

  • Oh my goodness! Thankyou so much for this information. I have been on a transition to a plant based diet for over a year and was hanging onto some unhealthy habits ( oil, vegan meat substitutes) which now I clearly understand the need to eliminate. Thanks for making it so clear

  • Made these last night and they tuned out really good. I would say they def didn’t need as much time as mentioned above maybe 15-16 min. I burnt mine a lil but but otherwise they were bomb. I made these along with an apple pie and my apple pie was crap so I’m glad I had these as a back up.

  • BULLSHIT! About half of what Dr. Fuhrman says is true, the rest is pure bullshit. The cure for overeating is to ask yourself, “Am I hungry.”
If you realize that you are not really hungry… do not eat anything! Simple!

  • My dearest friend has reached 425 1bs, I knew her when she 150, 5′ 9″. She told me just last week, I don’t want to be a mom, I can’t handle being a wife, I have tons of money from the government, and I live like a queen. Then she calls me, I am broken, I hate what I look like, I hate the way people see me. But, hand her a Pepsi, it’s gone. Eats all kinds of meats, pizza, everything that no one in their right mind would eat. When the Dr. said, being the best you can be after being committed to eating well, I thought of her. She doesn’t want to have expectations from others, she has it made as well as bone pain, kidney problems, diabetes, migraines, can hardly get herself to the bathroom. I guess it is all a choice. I sent her this link, she won’t care. People want to be unhealthy, success is too difficult to try; personal success is too much, being a good friend is half-ass with her. Where does this person go from here besides the grave?

  • Could not agree with you more… Skip the dessert I went out for a meal with the wife over the weekend and I had a big meal and I had n apple pie but the wife had a chocolate cake and I had half of it… I put on 4 pounds and I’m training and dieting harder the last two days just to get it back off… Big no no for me from now on… Lol

  • Brad, the lifesaver:)
Thanks to you I started living paleo lifestyle and I’ve never been in a better shape and felt energized at the same time. I do cheat occasionally with lots of non-paleo stuff but hey, that’s why it’s a cheat, right! Anyway, great video as usual, and very informative. One question though, I’m not sure if it’s a practice in US restaurants to serve crepes as dessert, but here in Europe most of the restaurants offer it with a filling of jam, chocolate or walnuts and honey. My favorite is the walnuts and honey of course and my question is what do you think of this as a possible restaurant treat dessert? (one medium sized crepe is the standard serving)

  • In most restaurant I´ve been too (which is a lot), they have almost always some kind of ice cream or sorbet, with “only” one or two scoops… which will lead to a desert under 400 calories….  and some have a kind of fruit platter, which is a good option!

  • I agree with healthy eating, but the stat about British children and sugar consumption being linked to violent arrests later is a stretch. Correlation does not equal causation. • And…….while a KNIFE cant cut a watermelon……..how can a coin which does not even have a sharp edge can cut it???? I tried it….but unfortunately it does not work

  • Hi Katie! Thank you so much for sharing this I have started eating your PB&J in the morning and it is amazing only one thing I started doing different I’ve added flaxseed in with my steel cut oats and sliced almonds and wheat germ and chopped up walnuts I only use about a teaspoon of each and it makes a nice amount with the raspberries and a little bit of peanut butter and it tastes so good thank you so much. PS you are so fun to watch your personality is so amazing.

  • I’ve been watching tons of life hacks and other girl things but with your workout vid and healthy breakfast week have freshen me so much ^^

  • Hello! I have a question: why do you use protein powder and oat milk and not use regular milk and get the protein from it? Thank you!:-)

  • Katie in the video you suggest adding 1/2c almond milk but on the recipe it says 1c. I put a cup and mine was soupy. Thought I would let you know

  • Takeaway

  • Today I made the PBJ oats. I didn’t cook my oats. Just put everything in a bowl, stired, and enjoyed! It was amazing. Totally taste like PBJ and a slice of pie!

  • I like these! They help to get easy ideas.
One Idea if you can add like all the nutrition info.
I will be trying the egg and avocado!

  • Great ideas. I love this and your channel! I’m getting back on the health & fitness wagon after falling off. I’ve been binge watching your videos, and especially can’t wait to try the 5 minute workout to get rid of 1 oreo… even though they are my weakness, I don’t think I could cave and eat one after watching that. You’re SO inspiring and informative, and your fitness journey reminds me of my own. Last year, I lost about 20 lbs (and had about 20 more to go…), and then gained it back in the second half of the year. I miss how amazing I felt and all the great food I was eating. Thank you again and I can’t wait for more videos!!!! <3

  • Oh my god those eyebrows… this is the first time i saw him and my jaw immediately dropped to the ground…. but they are amazing

  • Twisters you did me wrong ;))
Guys you are so fast, genius and very I mean very creative!

  • What would he say about keto? I think I know. I am switching to nutritarian. I have been scared of beans. I see how ridiculous that is! Starting today. Getting book now.

  • Only reading the comments to see what ppl say bout his brows. I have thick brows myself it’s a European thing leave the guy alone lol. I’m on your side bro

  • Oh my, I just made these, straight out of the oven, they’re Delicious, even though they might not look as good as yours, lol! I had trouble squaring my puff pastry, as I’ve never worked with it before. Well worth the effort though, Thank you so much for this recipe!! I’ve got to go “gift” these to my neighbor, I hope she just doesn’t look at them, just takes a bite!

  • Katie in the video you suggest adding 1/2c almond milk but on the recipe it says 1c. I put a cup and mine was soupy. Thought I would let you know

  • Has ever notice that toaster strudel and pop tarts a basically the same thing just put sprinkles on the icing and there you have it a pop tart lol

  • Iam your biggest fan i hope you make a next food becuase i really like your food your channel is the best your kids are so cute i really like your food so much it is the best keep the good job good

  • Great recipe. Relatively quick and easy for a grandfather to 3 girls ages 4, 8 and 10. They enjoyed making and eating them as did I. Thanks.

  • Looks amazing Just a bit curious though…[email protected] 4:04 (when you’re making the glaze), there’s a bottle of vanilla sitting there, but you never mention adding any & it’s not listed in the ingredients

  • Thank you so much for the recipe, I made them today and came out great just i think 400F is a bit high if i hadn’t keep checking they would have burn.

  • Coronavirus Baking Club 2020

I have been longing for apple turnovers for years and nobody in my area makes them.

    Might have to try this!!

  • Oh my god… he’s calling out mothers, like I do…

I fucking love doctor furhman.. the crazy thing is I didn’t start watching his videos til 1 week ago, but I already know and agree with all the things he is saying

  • I do believe I’ve found my new Favorite cooking channel:). Thank You Natasha! Love your recipes and your vids:). God Bless from Michigan ❤️❤️

  • This is the cutest cook I’ve seen in a long time.He is natural and real.I love those eyebrows, they make his eyes even more beautiful. The recipes are really good.

  • Omg they all look so amazing and tasty!!! Will be trying them all thinking chia seed pudding first. So helpful as I’m trying to lose weight videos like these just what I need

  • The first one looks really nice but how is 300 calories “low”? I usually wouldn’t eat a dessert or breakfast (assuming you could eat any of this as a breakfast) that’s more than 200 calories(? Maybe it’s the ED talking but yeah:/

  • Lmao why‘s everyone talking about his eyebrows it doesn’t matter at all, we need to appreciate this recipes, the food looks so good!! thank you!

  • SAD ratios are misleading. Most of the 30% meat is processed crap. The real ratios are closer to 5% whole plant, 5% real meat, 90% processed. • People that are coming for his eyebrows are fools and cowards, you could NEVER pull them off like he does , they suit him very much so shut up and just follow the recipe

  • Just 1 thing, check out the calories on store bought granola before you start adding it to things. Weigh out the 40g size they say is a portion and you’ll see that it’s ridiculous.
I’d been adding it to yoghurts and stopped when I checked how many calories it was adding.

  • Hav u noticed that bizarre dietary thing called “low calorie cancel”…??? Its when u combine a massive piece of cake with a cup of tea sweetened with artificial sugar because apparently the “zero sugar” in your beverage cancels out the calories in the cake…strangely enough, all the people who follow this diet remain overweight…

  • LOVE IT! I am a huge fan of your meal option videos. It’s so inspiring to stay on track when you can find new healthy ways to eat! I look forward to more nutrition videos! Thank you

  • I would love to make the strawberry cheesecake ice cream! But I couldn’t see what the ingredient was after they made the cream cheese mixture? I’m assuming it’s cream, I believe it said 300 ML? Did anyone see this? Thank you so much, I love this video!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Has ever notice that toaster strudel and pop tarts a basically the same thing just put sprinkles on the icing and there you have it a pop tart lol

  • These are good recipes; however, I want to point out that they are not necessarily healthy, and you definitely shouldn’t include them often in your diet. The addition of oils, grains, and other fats like cream cheese make them higher in calories than what is often reasonable on a low-calorie diet. Remember these recipes also include sugar, even if they don’t add any refined sugar (chocolate chips, for example, and a dessert with pineapple AND banana will be high in sugar). These are good alternatives to when you probably WILL serve dessert, like on a holiday. Use these recipes instead of getting a store-bought cake, and then you’ll be far better aligned with weight loss goals!

  • I like these! They help to get easy ideas.
One Idea if you can add like all the nutrition info.
I will be trying the egg and avocado!

  • If you’re dieting, you shouldn’t be eating dessert at all. On the other hand, if you’re having a cheat meal, you shouldn’t be worrying about calorie amounts, just have what you like. Either way, I wouldn’t worry about the calories in dessert foods. Of course this is all just my opinion and the way I like to do it.

  • In most restaurant I´ve been too (which is a lot), they have almost always some kind of ice cream or sorbet, with “only” one or two scoops… which will lead to a desert under 400 calories….  and some have a kind of fruit platter, which is a good option!

  • BULLSHIT! About half of what Dr. Fuhrman says is true, the rest is pure bullshit. The cure for overeating is to ask yourself, “Am I hungry.”
If you realize that you are not really hungry… do not eat anything! Simple!

  • School promoting Halloween and make all the kids obese. Instead of educating the kids they doing the opposite. It is hard for parents to do anything while school and government promoting Halloween( candies). They are not promoting Halloween but candies. It is so sad and parents are helpless.

  • What would he say about keto? I think I know. I am switching to nutritarian. I have been scared of beans. I see how ridiculous that is! Starting today. Getting book now.

  • I wish that you had more videos like this on your channel that covered lunch and dinner as well. I love working out, but always struggle for ideas in the kitchen, and make bad decisions for frustration and lack of time. But I love your challenges, I have just joined your fitness email subscription, and have printed out the last three months of challenges! I’m excited to start making a healthier, happier me this year.

  • 39:58 42:00 the good doctor is on fire!!! This is what motivates me. Fuhrman and Greger are so passionate about helping us. No one has the energy that these two Titans have.

  • Today I made the PBJ oats. I didn’t cook my oats. Just put everything in a bowl, stired, and enjoyed! It was amazing. Totally taste like PBJ and a slice of pie!

  • Dr. Fuhrman is the MAN!! I love how he gets annoyed at his own jokes Thank you so much for posting this!!!

  • Since coming across Fuhrman’s book, “Eat to Live” and watching him a number of times on PBS I have considered Joel Fuhrman the most ‘authoritative’ expert in nutrition that I know of: He seems to have an innate genius knowledge (which has been acquired via experience as well) of nutrition that is unsurpassed. His knowledge and comprehension of all-things both nutrition and medical seems that much better and more on the ‘genius-level’ than all other nutrition experts that I am aware of.
The books “The China Study” and “Eat to Live” are something tantamount to the closest thing to a ‘nutrition bible’ that I have ever come across…

  • Takeaway

    1) Eat High Volume Nutrient Dense Foods (ALL Veggies, Fruits, Legumes to FILL you, increase satiety, and decrease appetite)
    2) AVOID Cooking Oils Increase appetite (STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOOD, except Saturday night for the boys)
    3) Impossible to over-eat with micro-nutrient foods. 210% possible to lose weight while in major calorie deficit.

  • Oh my god… he’s calling out mothers, like I do…

I fucking love doctor furhman.. the crazy thing is I didn’t start watching his videos til 1 week ago, but I already know and agree with all the things he is saying

  • Yooowhat if the person/people who are running this account and all the other 5 minute crafts accounts, is the same person/people who run the account troom troom?-

  • I was able to lose 16 lbs in 30 days. If loosing weight is on your list of resolution this year, watch short video in my channel. Stay motivated always!

  • All your ingredients are great except for the canola oil!!! Switch the canola to coconut oil!!! Canola and vegetable oils are terrible for us, it causes inflammation in the body!!!

  • I’ll always admired ur recipes & tried some of ur recipes it was lovely taste especially the chicken/shrimp alfredo pasta myself & my kids loved itthank u for sharing ur talent Mrs.Natasha

  • He should just stick to health advice and stay out of politics. He just had to put in his two worthless cents about the president. What a small petty person.

  • Great info here. Does his book have an extensive references section in it? The academic in me wants to review the studies for some of the points he mentions.

  • LOVE IT! I am a huge fan of your meal option videos. It’s so inspiring to stay on track when you can find new healthy ways to eat! I look forward to more nutrition videos! Thank you
