  • Your small intestines take about 48-72 hrs to breakdown each meal, so no…sorry intermittent fasting doesn’t give your intestines a break, your GI tract is constantly going unless you are actually starving yourself and your intestines are truly empty. Also if you go too long without eating stomach acid builds up and you can be at risk for ulcers (assuming you have enough stomach acid in the first place which most people don’t)

  • I started the 16/8 method last week (didn’t bother over the weekend) and I definitely notice a huge difference on the days I do IF. No more unbearable snack cravings in the late afternoon and am easily able to reach my calorie goals. As an example, I was consistently hitting 1800-2000cal per day (difficult for me to hit the lower part of the spectrum) and that was with eating 6 small meals per day. Now with IF I’m easily able to hit 1400-1600cal which is more ideal for me to lose weight a bit faster jut still at a healthy rate. (5’8”)

I have previously struggled with an eating disorder so I try to make sure if I hadn’t eaten all day I’ll eat later than 8 between usually an hour. After that I’m done. Regularly though I eat around 5-7 pm and stop eating (normally) at eight pm. I have been feeling much better and I definitely am seeing a difference not only in my body but, my confidence!

  • For all of you that are comparing your skinny friends to yourself:Guys your overexagerating,that’s what I thought, but it’s probably because they move around more. And it’s kind of your parents fault. If they fed you a lot when you were younger your used to big meals, plus after you hit puberty your body will always try to go back to that weight. So you have to try and move more, it’s gonna be more difficult for us but YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR WHAT YOU WANT!

  • Hmmmmm I eat 2000 plus calories I’m Mcdougalling.
    Starches and Fruits only as much as I can and so far I’m losing 6 lbs a week and dropping. Oh also Moringa oil and powder and Epsom salt.

  • I do this, and I like it because I don’t feel hungry all the time and am not snacking. It’s more time-efficient, as I don’t have to be 3 times a day in the kitchen preparing meals. I don’t try to lose weight, but it does help me to stay in my weight with no effort once I got used to it. In the beginning, it was hard because the body craves at normal times, but once your body knows it has to store energy until a set time, you don’t feel hungry until the actual time you’re supposed to eat.
