  • Well, I’m gonna try this because I have started to workout and eat healthy and it has been like a month already and it seems like my body doesn’t want to let go of the fat and most of my problem areas are my lower stomach, butt and tights. First goal is to weight 65 kg, end goal 59 kg.

    Day 1: I forgot to scale myself, but I think I was over 72 kg.
    Day 2: In the morning 71,5 kg, in the evening before going to sleep and listening to it with full stomach 72,6. So my weight depends alot on what time I scale myself and if I have full stomach or not but those big differences confuse me.
    Day 3:71,8 kg, hate that my body is being this stubborn. Also I can’t sleep with headphones so I listened to it without headphones

  • Dr. Becky, HOW can a 70+ year old female possibly get 1200mg of calcium while following an 18:6 or other variations of IF without absolutely stuffing yourself on 2 or 1 meal a day???? THIS is my huge question that no one seems to be able to answer. I know the various plant based foods, but one can’t possibly stuff enough of them into the 1 or 2 meals/day! So, please, do you have an answer?

  • Dr. Gallespy, I’m 72 and what concerns me the most is not getting enough calcium and VitD3. How do you possible get enough of those without pumping tons of supplements or milk in, which my body can handle?

  • Interesting about the cholesterol…. many years ago I was getting my bloodworm pulled every 3-mos. Between sessions I began adding coconut oil to my coffee and my cholesterol went way up. The nurse asked me WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??? And of course she thought I was crazy to add coconut oil to my coffee. But I stopped because I thought it was a bad thing, too.

  • I was diagnosed with B-cell lymphomas which are types of lymphoma affecting B cells. Lymphomas are blood cancers” in the lymph nodes. They develop more frequently in older adults and in immunocompromised individuals. It’s funny, people I didn’t know would chat with me on the bus, on the train. We would talk about anything. That made me feel a lot better. It came a day when I was told by a lady to try and do some research on the internet for help. Maybe there will be a cure for my Cancer.     I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism when I was 12 now I’m 52. At 12 my endocrinologist put me on radioactive iodine to kill my over grown goiter & on Synthroid. Im not sure how long I was on but it was less than a year. I don’t know what iodine killed off my goiter or my thyroid but I’ve been on synthroid ever since. Any it’s been a crazy journey but I’m just now really learning about inflammation & what foods I can & cannot eat… my weight is 230�� so I’ve tried keto before and I did lose weight but then I got off and gained more than I lost. Since the health risk are worse do you think people with my condition would benefit from a lap-ban or some kind of stomach surgery to lose weight because it feels like it will take too long to lose weight and other illnesses could accrue due to my obesity??? What would you do? Thank you��

I’m post menopausal, have depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hyperthyroidism and have generally felt like shit for a long long time. After a month…..I already feel sooo much better.     One egg mixed with spinach, kale, or dandelion fried in coconut oil or butter, with a little melted cheese. Spread some mashed avocado mixed with garlic on top and a big spoonful of salsa on top of that. Makes a fantastic breakfast.

  • Looks like 1:49 if this played while I slept. I woke up thinner. My elastic sports bra was so tight yesterday, it dug deep into my white, doughy, flesh. But today it’s almost perfectly comfortable around my ribcage, but still digging into my shoulders a little bit. Also, my size two gorgeous trench coat, although still way to small to wear in public, would actually go over my shoulders and arms today. It would not do that yesterday. I’ll keep playing and see what happens.

  • Ok, so I’ll also keep y’all updated on how it works for me…

    So, Day 1: I measured my weight in the morning, it was 63.1 kg and then I went to excercise. In the night, I listened to this for about 17 mins.. and slept after that, my stomach was hurting and felt weird.

    Day 2: I woke up and weighed myself the first thing in the morning and my weight was 62.8 kg, I excercised (morning) and listened for about 20-22 mins and went to bed.

    Day 3: my weight went down to 62.5 kg, i excercised today too… i listenwd to this for only 10 mins today as i didn’t have more time, so now i’ll sleep and see what happens tomorrow…

    Day 4: 62.1

  • Hey, this is good information! The only thing I’d recommend is at least for awhile avoid salmon unless it’s wild caught. And I would definitely recommend adding in freshly ground flaxseed, 2 tbsp per day. Love your work!

  • I eat a low carb diet as it is, about 120 grams max. I eat very healthy fats, most of my carbs coming from veg and overall very balanced with some fruit as treats. (a takeaway once a week also) The issue is i am still not loosing weight, in-fact since eating better i am gaining weight I suspect this is due to the increase of fats and consuming more Kcal than i put off, but i am not sure. So i am starting keto, it shouldn’t be to hard. (He says.) Ill just remove the high carb veggies and whole grains, add low carb veggies instead. Maybe exercise more, hopefully i will finally start loosing weight. Yes and of course no more weekly take away

  • Thanks to your plan and other on line education, I dropped to an ideal weight and am now on maintenance lifestyle eating these foods that we all thought were bad. I have eaten more full fat yogurt, blueberries, cream, avocado, etc in the last 10 mo than in the last 10 yrs. Cut out sugar, cut down carbs with your plan as a guide.   • food ideasI use microwave veggie steamer containers to quickly steam my veggies and make a side protein, at night, I use hot tea bc it releases feel good endorphins; relaxation which triggers weight loss-heat melts fat so i have variety of tea’s; soak in a hot tub to lose water weight.
    I use pink hemalayan salt vs regular salt since it has minerals and healing elements.

    Cooking oilAvocado oil or olive oil -all other oil will raise the cholesterol and set you up for strokes;heart attacks-you’ll need plenty of garlic and onions in your food to decrease the clotting, bc it stores as fat and creates clogs not allowing the arteries to run clearly. Garlic helps lower cholesterol, heals asthma; cold like symptoms, helps heal you from stomach viruses.

    SoupI buy beef or chicken broth and make soups by pouring celery, carrots, potatoes and cabbage or bell pepper.. whatever the mix i fancy.. i’ll put bits of meat fr chicken or beef into the soup and season to flavor.-garlic powder onion powder, salt & pepper-i’ll cook all my grilled chicken/beef tips in 1 day and store in the freezer & only take out what i’ll eat for that moment that way food doesn’t take forever to cook and i avoid eating out..on we weekend, I’ll chop up my celery,bell pepper, onion, tomato, potato and store in the freezer-saves me time fr having to chop on another day and save money n time bc it doesn’t expire as fast as it does in the fridge. It’s handy when you make eggs in the morning, just grab a hand full of bell pepper, onion, tomato and cook with your meat such as turkey sausage or turkey bacon or just make boiled egg w protein choice-protein makes you full. I’ll get corn tortilla and make soft taco wrap and fill with avocado slices and cheddar cheese and sprinkle salt. these are amazing! ill use whole grain or honey wheat toast with avocado,

    Spring rolls-I’ll dip the wrap in a bowl of water, place romaine lettuce leaf on top then add pieces of basil leaves, carrots, cucumbers, bell pepper-red,yellow,orange, cilantro, lemon grass, onion chives, then.. making any meat fr shrimp, pork meat, chicken and mix add with veggies and wrap everything inside the romaine leaf then dip the spring roll into sweet n sour dipping sauce and sometimes eat this with my soup if i’m really hungry & its so hardy and filling.

    For coffeeI use raw honey instead of sugar or i’ll use the vanilla creamer or hazelnut creamer mini cups as sugar-don’t use sugar. I’ll sometimes put the protein chocolate into the coffee.

    Oatmeal-make with hot water & add honey or vanilla creamer & I’ll sometimes put green tea since green tea helps you become alert; has low caffeine and burns fat thru omega-3-* Foods with omega 3 burn fat like pistachios, walnuts, pecans(also brain food) i’ll make overnight oatmealraw oats can mix chia seeds, also with yogurt smoothie, milk, & top with different berries,fruits or bit of peanut butter with 1 peace of chocolate as a topper or sometimes just roll the oats into honey as snack, can add trail mix or just snack on trail mix. I’ll keep a cutie or manderine and trail mix as snacks nearby.

    ChipsI use pork rinds-squeeze lemon juice or scoop on it with hot sauce, dip into cottage cheese or salsa or pico de gallo, veggie chips w ranch dip, rice crispy chips w peanut butter or jelly as breakfast snack. Popcorn with hot sauce and lemon juice
    Snacks make a ziplock bag with celery and carrots -side or ranch dip or without dip prefer.
    I’ll keep a cutie or manderine and trail mix as snacks, beef jerky
    celery with peanut butter topped with walnuts
    Jicamaadd coconut or cucumber with lemon juice and sprinkle chili fruit powder make into taco
    sliced cucumbers, squeeze lemon juice and season with fruit chili powder or salt
    Jicama into enchiladas and use as a tortillas wrap.

    NoodlesI choose veggie noodle or fiber with noodle
    Air fryer for fried foods-rare-don’t eat much fried foods. i
    Cauliflower into rice or mash potato recipe,I haven’t tried the cauliflower pizza yet.

    Soda= get club soda but squeeze lemon juce & put honey to sweeten for a natural sprite.
    i’ll put my tea bags in a large jar outside to make sun tea and sometimes include the lemon

  • hold up, 5.9 mmol/l is ridiculous. Your total cholesterol is 228 mg/dl. You think that is healthy? Your risk for cardiovascular disease has just shot through the roof. To be heart attack proof cholesterol needs to be below 150 mg/dL

  • I eat a low carb diet as it is, about 120 grams max. I eat very healthy fats, most of my carbs coming from veg and overall very balanced with some fruit as treats. (a takeaway once a week also) The issue is i am still not loosing weight, in-fact since eating better i am gaining weight I suspect this is due to the increase of fats and consuming more Kcal than i put off, but i am not sure. So i am starting keto, it shouldn’t be to hard. (He says.) Ill just remove the high carb veggies and whole grains, add low carb veggies instead. Maybe exercise more, hopefully i will finally start loosing weight. Yes and of course no more weekly take away

  • Dr. Becky I like the texture of greek yogurt, I consume Bulgarian Yogurt Probiotic with acidophilus, bulgaricus, thermophilus and bifidum it comes in a glass container and has 9 carbs per cub, what is your opinion should I stick to this one or switch to greek?   • Hey, this is good information! The only thing I’d recommend is at least for awhile avoid salmon unless it’s wild caught. And I would definitely recommend adding in freshly ground flaxseed, 2 tbsp per day. Love your work!

  • Interesting about the cholesterol…. many years ago I was getting my bloodworm pulled every 3-mos. Between sessions I began adding coconut oil to my coffee and my cholesterol went way up.   • Thanks to your plan and other on line education, I dropped to an ideal weight and am now on maintenance lifestyle eating these foods that we all thought were bad. I have eaten more full fat yogurt, blueberries, cream, avocado, etc in the last 10 mo than in the last 10 yrs. Cut out sugar, cut down carbs with your plan as a guide. It’s doable but is hard getting it into the mainstream unfortunately.

  • So I’ve read a lot about this….ect. I have been keto for 3wks healthy fats the whole bit. I was diagnosed with PCOS by the 4th doc who was wholistic as well as a primary care doctor after years of not feeling well. I treated it for 2 yrs with meds and no change…it got worse. So keto is kind of my ditch effort to get control over my PCOS 30lbs later and 50% less hair. So my thought or concern is since I have enough testosterone for 3 men and estrogen….will the fats make this increase??. Thoughts?

I WISH I had salmon everyday. �� When I eat healthy fats at each meal, along with adequate protein, I definitely notice lower sugar cravings throughout the day. In the second day I started having bad/negative dreams (nightmares) and had a really bad stomach pain and no I wasn’t in my period. I thought that as a coincidence.
