  • I love how Americans always talk about Grass Fed Beef, Legit all beef in the UK is grassfed. American Agriculture is fucked up haha

    Great video man!

  • Thomas, I drink ACV (2Tbl spoon) with 10oz of hot water to which I add the juice of a half lemon, teaspoon of turmeric, teaspoon of cinnamon, teaspoon of ginger and a pinch of fresh ground black pepper. It tastes good. I love it.

  • If AMPK gets elevated by ACV, does it inhibit muscle growth?
AMPK is kind of the opposite of mTor right?

I would like to know since my main focus now is building muscle. If that’s the case I will save the ACV for when my focus changes to leaning out.

    Thanks in advance:)

  • I did lchf for a year. List 50 lb and the last 3 months were so difficult! And the weightloss so slow. Now it’s so hard to get back on it. It’s been over a year and when I am able to stick with I’m not loosing. I really thought lchf and intermittent fasting was the answer but now I don’t know

  • I want to do the Keto but he gives so many video, so much information, how in the world as a newbie so I even begin. All do this and don’t do this, make sure have enough or don’t do too much of these. Head spin. What I need is a basic day, calories per day. Do work out, don’t work out. Help lol

  • Jeff you may to mention meal frequency as that plays a part in metabolism, just my 2 cents. You can actually eat more and lose body fat when your body is constantly fed 5 to 6 meals versus 2 to 3 meals.

  • Lol I needed this, back in high school I was fit and 210-220’ish lbs and use to eat a whole lot and never gained weight, and then senior year and college happened where I wasn’t or hardly active and my fatass now weighs 270lbs luckily I don’t look bad, but still wholy shit I need to lose weight and get my metabolism going again

  • During the first 2 ish months of lockdown I found myself (accidentally) massively under eating as I was sleeping through breakfast then only eating lunch and dinner and a few hundred calories in snacks and protein shakes (about 1,600-1,800 total calories taken in per day) as well as burning roughly 500 a day through cardio. I’m 18, am 5ft 11 and 140 pounds and believe my maintenance calories was somewhere between 2,000 and 2,400 so I was clearly in a massive deficit for a very long period of time, and have lost 2 stone since last summer. Now as my gym is opening soon I’m looking to get back into weight training and therefore consuming more calories, does anybody have any advice for how I can decrease my deficit whilst not gaining a massive amount of weight due to my presumably broken BMR?

  • I have a fairly high body fat 18-22 I think but I also have a lot of muscle and cannot afford to not gain / lose any muscle mass while I cut down as I’m playing rugby at a decent level and trying to get to the next level any tips?

  • im skenny like not skinny skinny but like i have a 6 pack anyway im a normal skinny size i play foft ball and do track i also take my dog on walks almost every day im 14 yet i eat like only junk food bc my mom is an only mom with 3 kids so we need snacks she also is not a om to cook or clean me and my older sister do that besides all that i do not gain whaieght at all and i didnt do much this summer but sit in my room watch my phone and eat still got a six pack what is this lmao i mean im fine with it hah

  • One thing, What are some carb meals with no fat?
So no oil, butter fatty meats like salmon or beef?
So maybe like tomato scauce pasta with chicken?
Or like literally just eat rice and veg with soy sc?
Thanks for this amazing video, im ripe with belly fat that wont go away been walking like 2 hours a day, nothing! Now im going to buy some weights and start strength training. You saved me.

  • Thomas, what you described is hypothyroidism. Feeling cold can be described wearing heavier clothes than normal, for example long sleeves while standing outside in Houston weather, Dry skin or hair fallout so much, sleep all the time wake up and already feeling tired, gaining weight and keep going regardless what you eat.

  • I’ve found from eating gluten and wheat free cerial pasta and bread has helped me lose a few kgs and helps my ibs. Also reducing dairy eggs chocolate crisps and takeaways helps the body.

  • I’ve never liked Caffeine. But I started having green Tea last week. I hope that’s better than worse. I have no problem cutting it out though.
    I hate Coffee lol.

  • Diet doesn’t mean eating less food. It means caloric deficit. I can be eating alot more low calorie food and getting into a caloric deficit. While i can be just drinking a lot of coke nd just snacking daily on a calorie surplus

  • I’m severely hyperthyroid with all hypOthyroid symptoms. After radiation uptake scan I immediately slammed on 30 pounds over the first 2-3 months and the weight hasn’t been able to budge since. It’s been about 4 years now.
Any ideas on how to reverse that radiation side effect?

  • im skenny like not skinny skinny but like i have a 6 pack anyway im a normal skinny size i play foft ball and do track i also take my dog on walks almost every day im 14 yet i eat like only junk food bc my mom is an only mom with 3 kids so we need snacks she also is not a om to cook or clean me and my older sister do that besides all that i do not gain whaieght at all and i didnt do much this summer but sit in my room watch my phone and eat still got a six pack what is this lmao i mean im fine with it hah

  • My ACV drink is identical to yours, but I only use BRAGG’s ACV. It’s the best! Thank you for this video. I’ve been thin all of my life and right now I weigh 180! Imagine how badly I feel not being able to wear my own clothes.

  • Careful with chromium though…
Be extra safe that you’re consuming food containing trace minerals of trivalent chromium, those are the chromium compounds essential to human nutrition mentioned in this video.
Stay as far away as you can from any form of hexavalent chromium compounds because those are highly toxic to the human body.

  • thanks, Thomas I usually do carb cycling in a week and keep two days ACV fast. High fat, high protein, high carb, high protein high fat, high protein high carb and then 2 days fast.

  • Lots of BULLSHIT is being told in this video… starting at the very beginning….
You cant just give iodine and the thyroid gland immediately miraculously starts producing more hormones. Its is NOT as simple as that.
ACV? Another witch doctor recommendations, others use maple syrup but it also doesnt help…. etc etc…
You are a mere buff-dude. You dont understand much about how things REALLY work.

  • Hey Thomas! I LOVE your videos and appreciate your scientific and honest approach to things. I know you have a ton of stuff on your plate, but can I ask one favor of you? If you or your team get the chance, could you maybe organize your playlists?
You have SO MANY great videos, that I have trouble finding the specific content that I’m looking for, since most of your videos are in one place. I’d really appreciate it. Keep up the great work man!

  • Wow! Exactly what I needed! This is the best information on metabolism and reverse diet that I’ve found so far. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • I love watching your videossoo helpful. The one problem I have is I do not have my thyroid anymoreyears ago I developed a goiter and had to have my thyroid removednow on medication (synthroid) for the rest of my life. where do I fit in your advice? Could you do a video for those of us without our thyroids…
I have been doing intermittent fasting for 5 months and have lost 70# but have been on a plateau for almost one of those months! Taking a break from fasting but want to lose at least 50 more #s. Any ideas how to get back to losing?

  • Started out at 246 5’11 in 12 weeks down to 221 then stuck for over a year. IF 16-18 hours 3-4 times a week throw in a 24 every 2-3 weeks. Walk 2.5 miles a day at a fast clip. Low carb under 40 net, between AC1 5.2, fasting BG between 85 to 90, keytones hover at about.57. Drink a couple of tablespoons ACV daily with water and lemon. Male going on 58 and want to drop another 40 I feel its hopeless yet I have no desire to go back to the SAD way of eating. Supplement with D, magnesium, potassium, salt, K2-mk7, collogen and fishoil. Is there any advice you could give in your next video because I am sure I’m not the only one especially at my age. Thank you Thomas for all the great content.

  • This guy is an idiot. He might as well say he promotes the Paleo diet. Unless you have are allergic to gluten or have an allergy to peanuts there is nothing wrong with there’s foods. There are so many health benefits to whole grains, high fiber content is one. Most American’s aren’t getting enough finger in their diets, and fiber has many benefits, such as promoting gut and bowel health, reducing spikes in insulin when eating carbs, staying fuller longer… It’s all about total calories. You know what else increases your metabolism…lifting weights and having more muscle. Butter is saturated fat (which in large amounts) has been shown to cause Cardiovascular disease. CLA or Omega 6 can also be found in beef, or any ruminant animal products. There is no current literature that supports CLA for weight loss…just claims.

  • I dont binge eat though. And i cant help it, its everything i eat and my dad makes me eat 2 times a day. Its sometimes when i drink. I cant help it anymore, i tell myself i wont but then i have to or my thoughts wont go away

  • THE TRUTH IS… My medical physician NEVER shared this information BECOUSE THE FUCKES DONT KNOW…
The average medical physician think they are experts, but they are not, only a fool will tell you to NOT eat fat and eat more grain and bread fruits like apples ect..and pump yourself full of more insulin when you are a diabetic 2.-
Medical Dr. are and have always been self-important arrogant ppl. with a massive inflated ego.. THAT IN REALTY don’t know shit, other than what they read in an outdated book, that reads like a car manual or a TV manual and has instructions like; if the patient has an infection give him this pill if he has this prob. give him that pill ect ect..
They have no real understanding of what causes a disease and don’t learn how to treat the disease but how to treat the symptoms of that disease and not the disease itself..
THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN SNIKE OIL SALESMAN FOR BIG FARMA!!

  • Thanks for this video! Question: is HIIT full body training as efficient as resistance training? Because I don’t have access to a gym, so I’m trying HIIT for a couple of weeks now..

  • Canola oil is used in the industrial industry. Yes to oil up machinery. Research has shown that it causes dementia.. alzheimers. Horrible stuff. A final fat is the best for frying. For breakfast I store the bacon or beef fat in a mug next to the stove with a metal spoon. Try to clarify it. I use a bit of it when I need to fry.

• I’m kind of ‘recovering’ from heavy calorie restriction. It all started when I gained weight at the age of ten, I am a diabetic type one since I was four and I was resistant to a certain insulin I was injecting at that time. There was a point were it was such a high amount that the injections couldn’t be filled with enough insulin for me. I needed five full injections, normal kids at my age and weight needed a half injection. It was crazy and no doctor cared, it went on for almost three years. Because of that high insulin intake I gained weight, I still wasn’t overweight just a bit chubby, until then I was always muscular and sporty. There was a solution but the weight wasn’t going down. I thought I had to diet, to the point where I was eating like max. 450 calories a day and burning 600 calories with cardio. That went for over 2 years. Now I’m 15 years old. I still have my period, but sometimes it’s only every two months and when I have it it’s just like two days or so. It’s a mess. Last year in March I started at 67. 1 kg. At my ‘best’ in summer I was 63 kg. I was eating so little, barely anything and didn’t even lose that much weight. Now I’m trying to eat a little bit more (500+-, slowly trying to increase the intake) but more protein in the calories. Now I am 67 kg again (btw I’m 165 cm), earlier this year I ate even less but gained weight. At some point I just wonder how I survive, I am a competitive horse rider and do a lot of sports besides eating so little

  • My best friend might have bulimia. I want to be there for her and support her, I’m doing the best I can but she lives in Germany and I live in the US. Im trying to get her to go seek medical treatment and see a therapist but she doesn’t want to

  • Hi Thomas, I always enjoy your video’s and your focus on a healty eating pattern rather than an eating pattern that will make you look good really connects with me. Could you do a video on fixing a fast metabolism some time? I’m eating a minimum of 4000kcal a day, high quality foods, taking care of my sleep and stress, strenght training 3-4 times a week and I still can’t seem to gain weight. I’m at a healthy weight, but I feel like I’m eating excessive amounts of food that might be causing inflammation because of the sheer amount. Would like your insight on this matter. Thanks!

  • How do you fast for 36 hour what can you drink what activity and what do you eat when you’re done with your fasting I would like a walk through I have no idea what to do! thanks for the good video it help a lot!

  • Dr Oz need to make up his mind. on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YErcj40hsXA (reignite metabolism) he said Peanuts are good for metabolism.

  • Thomas THANK YOU for your videos… you have been such an influencer for understanding the details of how our bodies work and what to do to eat as we should rather than how our country teaches in a broken method that is grossly outdated. Fasting has become a major part of my world, how to break a fast, taking care of the thyroid, fatty liver, HOW and WHAT and HOW OFTEN to eat as we age, hormones, working out, all of it! SO appreciate you and your hard work. Makes a world of difference to me!

  • i’m 17 lost 3.5kg in 20 days with 1200 calories diet WITHOUT exercising (used to be 68.2 kg and 168cm ) so i’m 64.7 kg now… i didn’t lose anymore weight for a week.. is this consider a plateau? and does it mean my metabolism adapt faster then others bz i’ve read that it take at least 3 months for the body to adapt to low or high calories but mine adapted in only 20 days… i’m still trying to lose 5 more kg.. and if i do the reverse diet will i gain weight and can i fix my metabolism in one week “rest week” maybe increase 70 calories/day so i get to 1900 calories plz help

  • My doctor says I should reduce my red meat consumption because my Uric acid is elevated and he put me on a drug. My trainer says that’s not true what do you think?

  • I worry about my weight bc of self consciousness and athleticism. I tend to eat a lot so I decided to eat how ever I want whenever I want, then only drink water for two days of the week. Does that count?

  • Hi Thomas! I’ve been watching your videos for some time now and find the content to be extremely educative. I had a gastric bypass couple of years ago and put on some weight back on. Could you do a video of how keto works with gastric surgery since absorbtion in the gut works differently? Thank you so much!

  • I have bulimia but my purging behaviour is working out waaaaaaaaaay too much. And i got bulimia from not having enough food and when i got food i ate it excessively because i was afraid it would disappear. And i am at a normal weight. I got professionally diagnosed without my parents knowledge

  • I don’t know if I have it or not:( I do binge once or twice a week and purge after even if it’s just a bit on the weekend and then I basically starve myself and run a lot during the week and that’s what my life is. I have lots of muscle fatigue and everyday when I wake up I get so extremely light headed that if I hold my breath I’d probably pass out. I haven’t had my period in months. So I do show symptoms but I don’t want to diagnose myself yk

  • I can eat and still be full 6 hrs later i have no motabolism at all! Ive been on keto for a week now its bloody hard but not as hard as being fat and unhappy!

  • 10:00 might sound stupid but why would an obese persons RMR be so much higher than say a lean person? isnt stored fat just that, stored fat? or do you constantly need a calorie source to sustain it? to me id think simply breathing and being idle would burn the same calories regardless of size, just something i dont fully understand.

  • Hey Thom. Love your videos. I have learned so much from you and really appreciate all your videos. I have hypothyroidsm and have suffered from all of the above but I never understood it until you explained it in this video. Totally makes sense to me now. Keto has really helped many of those things you mentioned but unfortunately interminate fasting does not. Everyone is different.
Have you ever thought of putting together a learning course similar to Dr. Berg? If you ever did, I would sign up tomorrow. Don’t get me wrong. I so appreciate your free videos but it would be fantastic to have a course broken down by individualized topics. I certainly would pay for it!!! BTW… I took Dr. Berg’s course and learned more from him than I did at my nutrition school. Go figure!!! LOL

  • Thanks a lot! I have been dieting since August of last year (even though at some points I would eat a bit more, but still dieting overall). Lost 45lbs since then and was having trouble loosing the final 10 lbs. Been stalled for the past 2 weeks even though I have gone from doing HIIT cardio 2 times per week to 6 times per week while still keeping a really low caloric intake of around 1700. So after 2 weeks of this being stalled at 156lbs did not make a lot of sense, but hearing about water retention does bring some hope. Also, these past 2 days I have been feeling ravenous hunger (probably from all the cardio). So I will take 1-2 weeks off of any sort of workout, and will eat to maintenance around 2400 calories. Hope this works!

  • With all do respect…. all of what you say is just a bunch of B.S!!!! Every day you come up with a new theory and totally different foods to eat… I became sooooo confused… what is considered healthy today… becomes unhealthy tomorrow…. I stopped watching the show long time back because I don’t need these guys to tell me what to eat…. I follow my own instincts… fruits, vegetables, sea food and little of the other kinds of meats and poultry… exercise and good night sleep…. that’s all… I live a healthy life

  • Diet doesn’t mean eating less food. It means caloric deficit. I can be eating alot more low calorie food and getting into a caloric deficit. While i can be just drinking a lot of coke nd just snacking daily on a calorie surplus

  • I’m just always assuming these videos are keto based. Probably because I love the ketogenic lifestyle. I read that a ketogenic diet increases your metabolism regardless of other factors. True/False or complicated?

  • I lost 53 pounds in 4 months doing next to nothing, now I am brisk walking and now I stop losing weight, When I went from 750 calories to 850 calories I began to slowly lose more weight. Great Video!!

  • Hey Thomas! I love your videos and they’re super informative. I was trying keto out a couple times and it just wasn’t for me. Then I decided to cut red meat, pork, and chicken out of my diet. So I eat healthy fish like sardines, shrimp, healthy salmon etc… I’ve noticed an initial drop in my weight but now I’m climbing back up:( How can I boost my protein and limit my carb intake while going mostly ovo/lacto vegetarian? Any recommendations or fellow Youtubers who have this veggie protein on lock? I’m going to try the iodine and chromium in my morning tea b/c I know I’m not getting those nutrients. Thanks in advance! <3 Keep up the good work!

  • M, 40yo, 5’11”, low physical activity other than 3 workouts a week (M, W, F), and BMR is SHIT (1800ish cal). I feel like in order to stay motivated during weight loss I’ve got to be losing a lb/wk. I’ve gotta SEE the progress to keep going.

So I’ve got myfitnesspal set to 1790/day, which I eat between 6pm and 12am (IF) and I do a 36hr fast once a week just for an extra push.

All of this is just kind of what I’ve stumbled onto through trial and error. But it’s torture and still takes a LONG ass time (6-8mos). I’m currently trying to diet down about 40 lbs to 150 so I can make room to build muscle with less fat in the way.

I’ve done this exact thing in the past but I always end up giving up once I reach my goal weight and I don’t get on with the muscle building phase. Usually because of outside life factors (can’t afford all the protein, no gym membership, etc.).

Last time I did this I was determined NOT to just give up and gain all the weight back after reaching my goal. But I did. Took me about a year and a half to gain it ALL back. 8 or so months of dieting torture from 198 to 154 only to turn around and gain it all back, ALL fat .

Now I’m back at it again and I just don’t wanna give up this time.

  • Uhmm just a Quick question, does redbull or any other energy drink boost your metabolism? I think it does Because it has a lot of cafeine but i am not sure

  • Hi Jeff I’m 18 y/o 190 cm and weight 87kg i want to do a reverse diet i have been eating for the last 5 months 1000 calories each day and last week i lost 1.3 kg and the week before 1kg what do you think i should do?

  • Is 3 months enough to ruin a metabolism? I have been eating from 600 to 1000/1200 cals a day for i think around 3 to 4 months,i wanted to lose fat but i woulf get so hungry that i would binge,im stuck in this binge/restrict cycle and im sick of it, i binged today but i want to get back on track, hos do i start after a binge?

  • I lost 13 kgs (28 lbs) in 3 months with Keto. It was only possible with Thomas’ videos. However, After 3 months I hit Keto wall, then I incorporated apple cider vinegar (2 times a day) with my meal. It worked wonder. Now, no more hitting Keto wall. Consider buying the green apple cider vinegar ( organic and the mother in it). I learned about it in Thomas’ or Dr. Berg’s video, don’t remember exactly. However, it is very effective to break the Keto wall / fat loss. Thank you Thomas for this wonderful content. You are awesome man.

  • Currently I’m eating an average of 1,400 calories per day with light exercise like walking.

I just want to make sure that this is right:

I want to lose weight, but what I got from this video is that in order to do so, I need to gain muscle which will lead me to gaining weight. But while I gain muscle and weight, will I lose fat as well? That sounds pleasing and I hope I got that.

  • Everybody has a slow metabolism, that’s why u exercise to speed up your metabolism. Also improving your breathing and blood circulation……

  • I’m 14 and destroyed my fast metabolism. I would eat so unhealthy and not exercise. Most of the time my body would burn it, but after a few years, I gained some weight. This caused me to have an eating disorder where I only ate bellow 1,000 calories… after weeks of doing this, whenever I tried to eat normal, I would gain weight so fast. This meant my metabolism got very bad. But thankfully, I focused on filling up on healthy foods and do workouts, now my metabolism got a bit better. Sadly, I’m not able to eat as much unhealthy foods as other teens, but I can enjoy a few without gaining weight. I still have to eat mostly healthy to maintain my weight, but I’m not complaining cause I actually enjoy eating healthy. 😉 I remember those days where I could eat all the food I want without exercising and stay skinny, sadly those days are kinda over for me lmao. But atleast I’m getting used to eating healthy at a young age:)

  • i always was a fat child and a chubby teenager. I’m 18 yo and dealing with depression for 2 years. i feel awful whenever i look at the mirror, i feel so guilty when i overeat and so i make myself puke. i love it when i lose weight and see this in the mirror. But this caused some things like i feel so fatigue and anemia. As if I’m an old woman. Now I’m taking vitamin pills. Depression caused my bulimia and it’s like an obsession that it’s so hard to stop myself puking.

  • Antipsychotics broke my metobolism at his worse. I Gained 30KG in less then 7 months!

Awfull meds for your health in every imaginable way not evening mentioning the extreme fatigue.. Just be aware!

  • so Eric said that eating more to lose weight isn’t a thing, but what about Stephanie in the ‘all in’ situation? She ate more and eventually lost weight. Did she go into a deficit?

  • yes cardio isnt good, did that, I was damaged without a caloric deficit. Sad, cause I also had no curves but yet looked like i was getting chunky. Too much low intensity running for girls is not good. This knowing now Im naturally curvy. Did swimming with that also.

  • How long should we break from the HIIT? I’m literally gaining weight and in a calorie deficit a year after being septic and being in ketosis from being so sick. I need my bmr to work again. I eat well and exercise. So frustrating.

  • Great video i have a question about collagen and how it works im 22 and im taking collagen but my father in law says im to young, if i take supplements than my body wont produce it naturally itll become (lazy ) its better for older people ‍♀️

  • I have an important question. I have been stuck on my weight for TWO MONTHS. But I look extremely different… I don’t know what’s going on. Can anyone help?

  • not all calories are equal. you can trick yourself into a false deficit or surplus. And we still have the way our body process the calories

  • I am so confused. You’re talking about caloric restriction. Are you talking about people on a keto plan or those who are in a caloric restricted meal plan? I began a ketoish meal plan with IF but I’m not restricting calories at all. As a matter of fact, I’m eating more calories than before but with significantly less carbs. The quality of the foods I eat has improved tremendously.

  • I like that, Fat loss happens from spontaneous caloric reduction. That could be something that happens to me. Luckily I never dieted before in my life so I didnt mess with my metabolism much. But I can eat 2000-3000 some times then I only get 1500 calories a day and lose weight for days at a time pretty quickly. (im 5 foot tall and 41 yrs old and I dont work out) 141 pounds lost:)

  • I dropped 66 pounds in under 3 months sitting in a wheelchair with nothing but calorie deficit and then my weight loss completely stalled. Now I am at 225 gaining weight in the gym by building muscle mass below my unchanging fatty tissue. I have no idea how to drop the remaining forty-something pounds of excess, and watching this video didn’t make me any smarter… among many things, for example I have literally no idea what you’re on about with this overfeeding you keep repeating ad nauseam, lean this, lean that, single percentile body fat, etc. You make no sense… I’m doing 12-22 reps in the gym with medium to high weights on a 1800 cal diet, what do you mean tap out at 7? No comment…

  • I’m surprised that fasting isn’t mentioned all, if you do an intermittent fast instead you don’t slow down your metabolism at all. You only slow down your metabolism if you’re eating food that’s less calorie dense, not if you don’t eat at all (say skipping a meal or two).

  • so if i lost weight to be quiet skinny, therefore if i do reverse dieting could i just stay at that weight forever? i dont want to get ripped but more of a slim body type is that possible?

  • Do we have to do the 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off? My diet lasted 4 months, first month I did 3 weeks on, 1 week off, I did that the second month and then the last two months I did higher calories here and there eg every 5 days and maybe some weeks 9 days, do you think my metabolism has slowed down that much? I was eating 1700-1800 for maintenance and was losing on 1300-1400, what do you think my new maintenance is? I will be doing a reverse diet too, in 2 weeks in starting

  • everyone is saying “get help” but it’s really hard. I’m super embarrassed and don’t know the first step, especially when I don’t want my family to know

  • Month three of IF, Calorie Counting, Walking and low carb, finally seeing my abs at 50! Lost 20 some Lbs, more than my goal. Why didn’t I know about this 10 yrs ago?! Happy going into the new year!

  • What’s your advice on supporting my reverse dieting efforts with an exercise program? I enjoy running but I was experiencing severe headaches due to muscle tension in my neck. This could be from dehydration, not taking in enough calories or pushing my performance efforts past my calorie intake for the run or a combination of all three. I believe reverse dieting can help me with these issues though I am interested in weight loss and as I mentioned, I like to run. I am willing to minimize my running days to once or twice a week (day 1 would be a run of 20 to 30 mins and day 2 would be intervals for 20 mins). I do a bit of strength training though should I focus more on strength training and if so how many times a week and time duration per session in the beginning?

  • Thomas DeLauer My head is spinning after hearing all this valuable information. You speak very fast too!
I wish you and your Family a Healthy n Happy New Year. Thanks for all of your Videos…

  • Love your channels Thomas!! Even my husband teases me “watching your Thomas Videos”!!??
But my question is, What if I don’t have a thyroid from removal by radiation? I’ve battled my weight for 14 years now

  • thanks, Thomas I usually do carb cycling in a week and keep two days ACV fast. High fat, high protein, high carb, high protein high fat, high protein high carb and then 2 days fast.

  • Quick question: what’s a good method to combat the tiredness caused by being in a calorie deficit? I’m in like a 300 calorie deficit (i’m 5 ft female) but my weight loss has still been pretty slow I guess, and it’s been like 9 months now (lost around 8kgs) and I’m getting pretty exhausted all the time now, and I unfortunately can have only a very small amount of caffiene a day because I have a low tolerance to it which causes migraines:( (not even 1 cup of coffee a day). Anyone got any other energy-fuelling ideas?

  • no shade, but I kind of prefer the slow look better:D

I guess because I’m just used to that look, being surrounded by guys in the trades

  • Thanks for this video! Question: is HIIT full body training as efficient as resistance training? Because I don’t have access to a gym, so I’m trying HIIT for a couple of weeks now..

  • This Josh Axe is full of BS. If you want nutrition advice, stay away from Oz and the crackpots and quacks he brings. Watch Greger’s videos.

  • Wasn’t that study you mentiond at around 55 minutes is about the fatcell production? If so, that study actually proved that if you gain fat in a very rapid rate, you not just storing fat in your existing fat cells, but also create new ones. And more empty fat cells means more bodyfat percentage or more hunger on the same level of leanness as before the cycle. I think that can be considered as “methabolic damage”.

  • I’m new into macros. I’m a girl, I’m not too big or too skinny but went to a nutritionist because I want to lose weight like 6 lbs. I’m small. I workout three times at week but my sleep is not so good. My nutritionist gave me a meal plan where I spread the macronutrients throughout the day but only eat my carbs around exercise time. I lost 1.5 lbs in two weeks. I’m want to look leaner and show more curves, shred, tone up kind ok. I’m doing 6 meals at day etc. So, is this the way to increase my metabolism and a way to lose weight, and get leaner? I mostly do weights

  • There is a lot of variables. Type of food you eat (I can eat a lot more calories on keto and lose then I could on low fat and I was counting every calorie), muscle mass, types of exercising, female/hormones, age, etc etc. And we are not dogs. Do not eat the same thing like they do and they have different patterns.

I love it.

  • Leptin speeds up the metabolism with T3, but a good night sleep is always a booster. The higher the Metabolism, the more fat you burn, but a heart rate over 120 and you burn glycogen.

  • I wonder how people did it 60 years ago without all this information! They were slim and toned, how they did it??? It seems like you need to study for hours and hours about how our bodies micro manage every morsel we take. Do I need to study electronics in order to watch TV or I just turn the TV on and do it?? Why is so complicated??

  • Maybe one day you could do some research on naltrexone’s effect on eating disorders I was just in a research study related to that

  • i count myself as an athlete now and i always has been obsessed with body images. if im alone in my house i do this fucking purging thing sometimes even 3-4 times a day. im just sickkk of it and i really want it to be end but it became a cycle that i can never fight with, or push myself not to purge. fuck all the body images and all the love i didnt give myself through these times. i really am so sorry about where i am and where i’ll be in next months. i wish i could have ended this earlier. i was happier about my body and my mind back then and i really am so sorry about all of this.

  • I feel like Thomas just described my life in a 7 minute video. However, I have been on Keto for over ten years and can’t seem to lose the weight, really looking forward to the next video.

  • Hi Thomas! I’ve been watching your videos for some time now and find the content to be extremely educative. I had a gastric bypass couple of years ago and put on some weight back on. Could you do a video of how keto works with gastric surgery since absorbtion in the gut works differently? Thank you so much!

  • I am 60yrs old and have struggled with bulimia since the age of 15. I have been diagnosed with OCD and complex PTSD. I have done drug therapy, CBT, et al. I live with it. The most important gift I ever gave myself was forgiveness. I used to binge and purge several times a day. There were times I could not hold down a meal because I felt full. I have been able to go months without binging and purging. But sometimes it’s not even binging, it’s the guilt of eating a sandwich and I took in too many carbs. It’s a weird kakked-up mindset. I have gone through thousands of hours of therapy (not to mention thousands of dollars) I just stopped trying to be perfect.

  • this is really off topic but i was curious and i counted my pulse per minute, it was 55. what the fuck does that mean? i thought my pulse was high

  • Is there research about inflammation in the case of doing two workouts a day, like 30 minute run in AM, then 30 minute strength in PM? Could there be an anti inflammatory protocol (meditation, omega 3’s, anti-inflammatory lunch) to do in between so inflammation doesn’t build up?

  • Wow really fascinating stuff! Thanks for this video! I was 200lbs and lost 21lbs and am still 23% body fat, haven’t lost weight in weeks, this video made me realizes few things a few truths I need to adjust.

  • My metabolism is slow. first, I never have a temperature higher than about 96.5, unless I am sick. But in the past couple of years, when I sit in a public room alone (some rooms in my apartment building, for instance), the light goes out! The motion detector is saying, “no living human beings here!”

  • Im doing 5 and 2 but not the way most people describe it. I’m fasting 5 days and eat 2. It works for my work life and my weekend life.

  • hey all, i think im starting to develop this but i already tried throwing up and it didnt work for me. is using homemade laxatives and working out daily still purging even though im not throwing up?

  • My grandfather ate whatever he wanted.. Drank tons of Brandy. Smoked cigarettes. And he only went down hill when grandma passed away. He lived to almost 90! He was thin and muscular his whole life.. But, brittle after grandmas passing. I’d like to dig deep into what keeps some people fit, no matter what’ they do to their bodies as aposed to people who need to watch calories and watch what they eat and when…? What is this extreme dynamic?

  • Depends on how we were to kill the lion.. But, if one could kill a lion with his bare hands! He doesn’t need to watch this video!

  • That’s pretty funny, I just watched Rachel Ray say the other day that ACV didn’t do what everybody thinks it doesn’t for weight loss. You gotta look at the source sometimes.? I myself take closer to 5tbsp. I try for 2after every meal & 1before bed.

  • I eat around 500 calories a day and am bulimic. no one knows about this except my school nurse. I’m going on holiday in 3 months and want to get my normal metabolism back whilst keeping the weight i’ve tried so hard to loose.

  • Iv had all of these symptoms for most of my life. After getting a CAT scan for another reason the Doctor told me I had “lumps” on my thyroid and should get it looked at. Still makeing appointments to find out exactly whats wrong. (Its most likely goiter)But regardless a video on thyroid problems would be great.

  • me clicking on this video as a caveman looking for nutritional tips and tricks: this is like chinese. I didnt understand. And now Im more confused than when I got here. You’re using all these technical terms. Just tell me exactly what to eat and what to do. Lol

  • I hate purging because I’m all dirty from it and it doesn’t help the fact that I’m a germaphobe. I use the sink or shower to throw up and only rarely use the toilet. I get all snotty and watery eyes from purging and it’s just disgusting. Than I have to make sure I’m really clean and that my bathroom is clean so it also satisfies my phobia of germs. Throwing up in itself disgusts me, but I do it anyway to make myself feel better.

  • My main problem is that I eat super sporadically and at super random times a lot of the time, and in super unhealthy ways. This means I est mostly unhealthy stuff, but I’ll eat anything from few or no calories a day, to upwards of 2000 calories a day.
I’m also a stressed college student who lives on caffeine.
    Yeah…
My metabolism is a bit fucked.

  • Thank you much. Great idea, fast for 2 days then eat Keto for a week, adding ACV then fast again for 2 days. etc. No snacks, but Do exercise

  • So how much weight can you actually lose in a week? I lost (on the scale) 4 lbs this week but I don’t know if it is all fat loss or water lossis there anyway to tell for sure?

  • I’ve never liked Caffeine. But I started having green Tea last week. I hope that’s better than worse. I have no problem cutting it out though.
    I hate Coffee lol.

  • Thomas, I understand that you can’t possible cover everything in your brief videos, but I would encourage you to add a short, simple message at the end.  Tell your viewers that,  even though you highly recommend something (ie apple cider vinegar) the viewer is ultimately responsible to ensure that it is safe for their own use.  I’m T1D and even though I don’t think I have gastroparesis, ACV slows my stomach emptying and causes bloating.  I’d love to use it, but for me it’s contraindicated.
