  • I love love love the spicy beyond breakfast sausage and the just egg fold. I make that same sandwich ALL the time. I just use Vio life cheese.

  • The way I eat mine from Trader Joe’s is I cut the pattie in half to create two because by itself it’s so big. But I like them! I’ve bought two already! This video is making me HUUUUNGRY!!!

  • I’m surprised you guys like the cheddar slices. I LOVE miyokos cheddar, but the Trader Joe’s cheddar made me gag. And it had weird blue threads/fibers in and on it. Just a few, but it was weird

  • I find the spiced chai concentrate from TJ’s to be stronger and better tasting than the Tazo concentrate that’s a dupe for Starbucks. Try it with some oat milk AND the vanilla oat milk creamer from Coffeemate, it’s heaven in a glass! I also picked up the vegan cheesecakes a few weeks ago and just tried one last night, it was SO good! I bought the caesar dressing a few days ago and have yet to try.. I was excited about TJ’s finally making a vegan version of my favorite salad dressing. Their Green Goddess dressing is also vegan, simple ingredients and delicious

  • I like this chill video. Like no pressure just taste testing some stuff. I would like to try the cheese cake, no bake bars, chai and black teas oh heck all of it!!

  • Zhoug is great in rice! Depending on your heat preferences, 1tsp to 1tbsp mixed in gives it great color and flavor. Then you eat it with whatever dish you’re serving with your rice. You can also add it to “eggs”.

  • These Trader Joe’s protein patties are great! Thanks for your recipe and opinions. I cook mine on a cast iron grill pan…then use a piece of melted soy cheese or good ol’ junky American cheese. Then I put it on a brioche bun, topped with a slice of tomato and some fork-mashed avocado.

I love these. No need to ever have a hamburger again. Beyond Burgers are also great. Picked up a frozen package of 8 this weekend, on sale at Costco for $11.99…usually $18.00. The Trader Joe’s ones are $4.49 for 2 4 oz patties.

  • Jicama is good freshly sliced in salads, stir fry, or raw as a snack. This was awesome you guys! I’m looking forward to picking up your recommendations soon!

  • We are in our 80’s, plant-based, and feeling BETTER THAN EVER! We are all about healthy aging and appreciate this excellent video and your many others!

  • I really liked the Trade Joe’s burger. I cooked it until the internal temperature reached 160f. I have yet to try the Beyond burger.

  • I like this style of video, real laid back. Some of us don’t have a nice fam relationship like this lol so I get these vibes via internet videos lmao

  • if TJ’s could just go ahead and make the chocolate oranges at christmastime vegan again, that would be great! I’m excited to try the cheesecake though

  • I love how you pronounced zhoug, as someone who grew up saying it with an Israeli twang to it, I never knew how people would think it’s said. I would say ‘s-ch-oug’ but the ch is the emphasis. the ‘ch’ sound being like a deep throat voice if you recall how Israeli’s speak!

  • I add the zhoug to a dip I make.
    Roasted corn kernels
Can of 3 beans rinsed (Costco)
    Can of fire roasted tomatoes
    1 large fresh tomato chopped
    Purple onion
    Garlic powder
Red pepper flakes and/or 1 jalapeño (I like it hot)
    Eat with tortilla chips
    Yummy

  • i still love making frito pies!! trader joe’s actually has a canned vegan chili and i made it all the time for a quick dinner. they just took the chili off the shelves tho i hope it comes back

  • My kids and I just got done eating the Trader’s Joe vegan patty. My kids and I enjoyed it I did cook it longer then recommended had to get the pink out as much as possible. In your video it didn’t look like you seasoned it which I think makes a difference with the taste. Plus I think eating it as you would a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and any other burger fixings does make a difference. I can’t wait to try the other vegan burger options.

  • Absolutely love the style in which this was filmed. It’s so realistic and I love how you said you didn’t want to take time away from your family but still get this done. 10/10 great content you guys

  • Again, living in the EU I have no access to any of these, but I always love your videos so much I choose to torture myself with fun vegan options you have in the US:D I must also say, I much more prefer you just incorporating these products into your daily life than stuffing your faces with all of these at oncemust be much more comfortable for you!
    .
Anyways, sending you all the love!
Stay safe and have a great rest of the week!

  • I have one question, if you guys have been vegan for a while, and have grown to love vegan and inquired a taste for it, what about us who are not vegan, would it taste good to us since we are not used to it?

  • Not sure if you guys have tried TJ’s wraps, but that’s where it’s at!!
Highly recommend the veggie wrap, spicy lentil wrap and rainbow wrap:)

  • Medium? That TJ’s burger was straight rare! I think your boyfriend was right, you have to fry that one some more. Interesting though… means it’s a lot more similar to real meat, preparation-wise.

  • Thank you guys for another great taste test video, sometimes these companies trying to make mock vegan foods really will do better if they take comments into consideration, I haven’t tried TJ’s vegan items much, nothing wrong with them just have to travel a little bit to get to that store. I don’t know if you all have a Kroger around your residence however they are coming out with some pretty tasty items, their simply truth vegan Alfredo sauce is where it’s at, their chocolate chips cookies another hit, they too have a burger that I actually like as well. If you have this store check out these items and do a taste test with the Alfredo sauce if possible. Thanks again very fun video with the out takes at the end! Yes Nate eat you a muffin!

  • Good to know Trader Joe makes these. I love Trader Joe’s. I have only had the impossible burger and thought it was good. When I checked on Burger kings site it said the impossible burger had like 1000 mg of sodium ugh. I wonder if these patties have less. Nice kitchen. Loved your video from home. Princess always looks so nice in her dresses. Thanks for sharing.

  • yay!! i’m SO here for a huge TJ’s haul:) you got some of my favorite items, some that i didn’t even know were vegan! love you bothhh

  • The thing that I don’t like about trader joes is how they always use soy, canola oil, sugar, citric acid, ect. I wish they would use more quality ingredients in their products, maybe I would shop there more if they did.

  • The outtakes are always the best part! Lol! I’ve heard the same thing about their burgers. I already had the beyond burger in my freezer, so I didn’t buy them. So glad!

  • Does your TJs have a Tahini Sauce? It is in the same container and area as the Zhoug sauce. You might like it. Personally I loved it because it is ready to add to meals vs having to make one from scratch.

  • omfg the cheesecakes are so incredible. also they are super easy to pop out of the container, i like adding strawberries to the top of mine.

  • Trader joes burger way better than beyond meat I cant stand beyond burger really gross but I was really impressed with the trader joes really good.

  • I’m glad you did this. I’m heading to TJs pretty quick and thought about trying them though right now I have the Boco from Costco in freezer, so now for sure I won’t. Also wanted to share a new FB group with you that you might like they have very mixed reviews on their burgers haha… https://www.facebook.com/groups/VeganTraderJoes/

  • Subscribing now your awesome!:) Great taste test! Thanks! About to cook the Trader Joes Protein Patty’s tonight! Check me out on instagram tomorrow @britts_kitch_27…:)

  • Really glad you did a review on the burgers! I’m hoping they’ll be more accessible than Beyond Meat burgers since they can be hard to find. Do you happen to know if they’re at the Clifton store?

  • Wow, so nostalgic again! Dolma’s remind me so much of all my holidays in Greece:D Luckily, most of them are vegan anyways so I will have to search for some when doing my next groceries:D

  • They are actually properly labeled. “Protein Patties”… and not “Protein Burgers” As long as a patty has no buns, It can’t be called a burger.

  • I completely enjoy your content. Thank you!

You guys should try Uncut turkey, chicken and breakfast sausage patties! They are amazingly good. I get them from Ralph’s. They have a burger too, but i haven’t tried that one yet.

  • the “zhoug sauce” originates from Yemen, and is pronounced schoog with the throaty ch. The original Schug is really spicy and I mix it into grated tomato or sauces for dipping

  • If you take the beyond and defrost it and smash it thin and cook it, it’s a whole different level!! It kind of chars it a little and I now LOVE it!! Seriously try it smashed thinner it’s so good!! Trader Joe’s is a hour away so It’s prob why I haven’t bought there brand yet. Bless ya sweet people for trying it for us!

  • Ohh we haven’t seen some of those things. Have to find those “pringles”….We also just got the folded just egg and that beyond sausage so excited to try that. I didn’t know their muffins were vegan

  • Beyond is definitely the best burger, so much flavor! Impossible is good looks, but Beyond is just better!!! Also as a cheap option and for a variety of meatless chicken/burgers/fish, Gardein is very good! The fishless fillets are game changing as fish and chips and also as fish tacos!!! Enjoy:)

  • I’m convinced that their new cheeses are just the parmela creamery ones which tbh I don’t love. I tried the grates mozz on pizza and the texture is just not great. I’d much rather have violife or the new daiya. I was so sad lmao

  • I’m so into sweet chai drinks, the sweeter the better. I must try! Some call the Fritos concoction pepper bellies, at least in Cali.

  • You guys are funny! Don’t you season your meats? Beyond is good. The other one looks to red maybe cooked a little longer. Yes trader Joe’s has good vegan stuff.

  • Hey! I can NOW make all your Tofu recipes, cuz at Whole Foods they carry a new soy-free tofu called PUMFU! (Made with pumpkin seeds and water and that’s it)
Please do a review vid on this!

  • The notification for this video popped up on my phone when I was at Trader Joe’s! Wished I watched this before I went, but now I have some items on my list for next time! For the mini cheesecakes, I like to top them off with some Crofters jam for a little added tartness. And I like to mix up a little Zhoug Sauce with mayo and put it on sandwiches and burger buns.

  • I think the sunflower oil is better. I try to stay away from canola oil if I possibly can because I have googled about canola and it comes from rapeseed plant which has high levels of erucic acid, put it is refined so not as bad as it could be. Sorry it was not good. I did see someone took the beyond Berger and mushed them up and added stuff to it to make meatloaf.

  • Are you sure it was fully cooked btw? Mine definitely looked darker after cooking (but definitely not as appealing as the beyond meat)

  • I was laughing the entire video, your optimism was hilarious. It looks like a raw salmon burger . Thank you for confirming why we’re passing on TJ’s attempt. We appreciate you taking one for the team .

  • I am a vegetarian since I was 3 and the story behind it is so sad. I am from Iran and I remember my grandpa went to Makkah and my family bought a sheep and I was playing with it for 2 weeks. When my grandpa came back, for religious purposes they sacrificed the sheep that I named and I thought he is my friend. I am 31 years old and to this date, I remember all the details that how they killed him. I was terrified when I saw they cooked my friend and my mom was forcing me to eat it!!!!!!!!!!! I was hiding for days cuz I though if they can kill and eat him, they will do that to me too! Till now I am thinking WHY WE NEED TO KILL ANIMALS TO HELP OUR HUNGER!

Now everything is different in my culture and people even in my country start to become a vegetarian but it’s still very new! Growing up as a vegetarian in Iran was so wried for my people and they thought I am crazy they would make fun of me all the time. I remember my friend’s mom My moms would always scared of me having a bad influence on their kids and make them stop eating meat. TO me eating meat it’s like eating a dead body! My mom was always worried that I will get sick cuz I am not eating meat. But I am super healthy and every time I check my blood everything is great except I am low on vitamin D. Now my mom feels so guilty and always apologizes to me and I know she didn’t have any bad intentions and things were different back then.

Anyways, long story short, I used to love the Beyond Burger but recently they changed it so much and I don’t like it anymore. I know they are trying to save the world and make their product close to being like real meat BUT I WISH THE WOULD HAVE ANOTHER OPTION FOR LIFETIME VEGETARIAN PEOPLE AND UNDERSTAND THAT WE HATE TO EAT SOMETHING THAT FEELS LIKE A REAL MEAT. IF WE WANTED TO EAT SOMETHING THAT IS EXACTLY LIKE MEAT THEN WHY SHOULDN’T WE JUST EAT MEAT?
I am so happy with the Trader Joe”s vegan burger, it’s one of the best that I had so far. Taste so good and please try it with Persian pickles. I cook it and add some cheese and then raw red onions and avocado it’s so good. Oh BTW get the brioche bread from Trader Joe’s it’s so good. They also have veggie chicken strips which are so good but it’s been a while that I haven’t seen them sadly.
Thank you so much for your time making this video, I am a big fan of Trader Joe’s and I do 99% of my grocery shopping there and sometimes my husband makes fun of me cuz I go there all the time. Love the store and all the employees. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT AT Trader Joe’s. I hope that they are not going to change the new vegan burger like Beyond meat.

  • I feel like if you two flattened out the beyond patties (like they do at monty’s good burger) you wouldn’t have to cook it longer. Plus it’ll add a nice char to them

  • I was at famous daves and had the beyond burger. I had to question the waiter to make sure they didn’t give me an actual burger haha

  • Hi guys!! My costco finally got the Beyond Burgers, I bought them last night. Great deal! I JUST wish they would do something about all that plastic packaging!! I cook mine from frozen for 9 mins in the airfryer! They turn out perfectly. Your reaction to the TJ’s one was like mine when I bit into my first vegan hotdog. BLEH! NO MUFFINS!!!!

  • The Trader Joe’s one looks so much thicker than the Beyond Burger, so it looks like it definitely needs to be cooked way longer than the directions (even longer than you cooked them?). I cook Beyond burgers probably twice as long as directions. With that said, to hear that the flavor was off too gives me pause. Hopefully they revamp them. I had high hopes maybe because I am such a TJ fan. Only meatless products that I’ve tried for them and don’t like are the meatballs and the grounds you mentioned. Nothing could make me try those again, lol. Thanks for the taste test guys .

  • I guess I’ll have to smell the next beyond burger I make before it’s cooked. Have no earthly idea what you’re referring to LOL. Thanks for reviewing, now I’ll steer clear of that TJ burger.

  • Love your Bar Harbor, Maine sweatshirt! I live in Waterville and the nearest Trader Joes is just over an hour away, but this video is definitely going to get me there soon. Thank you!

  • I agree!! You guys are the first YouTuber that I’ve heard the taste was awful. It does not taste great! Some people thinks it’s good??? Like really?! Is it the consistency??

  • Hi Kim & Nate, Wow! I wanted to grab the Trash Can for you Kim! You should do a top (5) Burger Video. I know Beyond Burger & you had been getting another Brand you like ” it looked like Ground Beef” I don’t remember what ” Impossible Burger” ranked. So, wonderful to see Nate, acting like his normal self ♥️Glad he’s getting better! Hug’s & Kisses to Austin & ALL The ‘Fur’Babies ♥️ Lots of love,
    Piper

  • Thank you for this so helpful!! Now I’m gonna try the Trader Joe’s plant-based patties!! I love grilled taste!!! Your kitchen is so bright and cheery!!
