  • I’m working on my Nutrition Coach certification with ISAA actually. Thanks for providing educational information. . I can’t believe you showed that idiot Chris Heria in the video. The fitness industry is full of idiocy. I hope to never become like these guys

  • “gluten is bad for your health”

Yeah, that’s why people in western Europe have the lowest life expectancy because of their gluten filled diet (pasta, pizza, bread, beer…)

  • Hey matt, I do you think I should eat breakfast or skip it and fast because I don’t know whether it’s better to eat or not to eat while I’m on a caloric deficit. I think this could be a cool 2 minute Tuesday idea. Thanks for the great content, keep it up. Later man

  • If anyone can then please answer it do college athletes get recruited by emailing the coaches or by applying to the undergraduate program for athletes?

  • If today I stop eating a keto-ish diet and only eat fresh fruits and veggies no matter how much or little, my gums will bleed by late afternoon no gum bleeding issues on me eating a keto-ish way. Can someone explain why this is? Doctors can’t explain it to me even after blood tests, so maybe some of you have experienced the same and would appreciate a non-biased of why and or how to remedy this if I were to decide to be more plant-based. Thanks.

  • Climate change is real….man does contribute, and we allow Haarp to be active everyday, we allow the oil companies to retain their patents on 200 mile per gallon cars, we allow chemicals to be sprayed everywhere, (roundup, the gulf oil spill, factory emissions, etc), yet, we want to tax the people for their carbon footprint. It makes no sense.

  • If vegan food is healthy for me I’ll go vegan
But I’ll kill every animal I find in my way..BUT I won’t eat it..because all I wanna be is healthy!
How much more emotions are vegans gonna feel? Is there a end to talking how you feel?..He sounds like he is crying!

  • Hey i was wondering if you could check me out, i am trying to get into an academy and i document it on my channel weekly. All the best!

  • Hey i was wondering if you could check me out, i am trying to get into an academy and i document it on my channel weekly. All the best!

  • Wow, just look at his passion through his body language about this topic. someone who loves their job will always be influential.

  • It is entirely possible to lose weight eating brownies and cookies, you’re just gonna be starving all the time because the food are extremely calorically dense. Also, you’re gonna have vitamin deficiencies, so don’t do it.

  • Another success story here. When I was in my teens and twenties, if you told me I would be even vegetarian in the future, I would have laughed at you. Now I’ve gone past that and have been vegan for years. Most people my age are overweight, obese, and/or are on prescription meds, not here. I see my primary care physician once per year for bloodwork, my PCP says “whatever you’re doing, keep doing it”. Since I stopped eating animal products, I’ve gotten rid of nasal polyps, cluster headaches, and skin rashes on my face from eating too much fish. No meds to get rid of all of those, which I had for years. I can eat as much as I want and never gain weight, if your eat the right foods. The key is to smash in the calories, eat whole foods, easy on the oil (avoid if you can), don’t fear the starchy carbs, make sure to get iodine in (dulce flakes on salad work), and take 2500 mcg of B12 per week. (Many non-vegans need to take B12 also, especially each decade that they are older). Follow Dr. Michael Klaper, he has a wealth of info on how to do it right. Also “Plantbased” athlete has some videos on his YT channel on the basics. Cheers.

  • Hey Matt! How do you track your progress on areas like Dribbling or Passing when you are doing individual training? I know it’s not related that much to the topic but I’m doing some work on my own and I’m not sure I’m improving. Like so Matt can see it if you are looking for an answer ❤️⚽

  • I see the entire vegan party landed where the comfort zone proves their religious doctrine. Ironic how the truth becomes less important, and our comfort feelings lets dictate whats right, and wrong. Not our superior brains with the best ability to prove right from wrong with logic, and reasoning as the best solution. Vegans here determines the right from wrong with feelings. Thats whats defined as being an incetually deficiant, or just lazy. A No go in the Scientific community..

  • Matt, aren’t a lot of the studies that are cited funded or supported by large lobbying organizations? These organizations have an interest in funding biased research.

  • why you only showed research about cancer related to eating red meat?? you say that red meat is healthy because of that one topic it is ridiculous, what about cardiovascular system, aging process, so on so on,

  • Great Video man! I personally highly recommend you do your own research aswell, you dont need to read a ton of studies or anything. Find youtubers you can trust, that have studied these fields and listen to every word theyre saying!

  • I want to give a testimony on how I got cured from Herpes Virus. Few months back I was having some symptoms. I went to see a doctor and many blood tests was done on me, later on I was told I had Herpes. My doctor told me that there’s no cure for Herpes I felt bad, I went online searching for a possible cure for Herpes Virus, I saw a post of Dr Ozula a herbal doctor that cured someone from Herpes. I contacted him and told him how I’m feeling he said his herbal medicine can cure me. He sent me the medicine via Courier Service and I received the medicine some days after he sent it, i took the medicine as prescribed by him. Before the completion of the medication the symptoms stopped. I went to the doctor and carried out another blood test, surprisingly I was Negative. I haven’t had any symptoms anymore, you can contact him no whatsapp +2347050891914 or you can Email: [email protected] gmail.com

  • Thank you, I feel like I definitely eat way more when using salt and sugar. I’m going to start eating more of the filling foods you spoke about and see if i do better this next week

  • Hi Matt, You have helped me a lot over the last few years and I agree with most things you say however processed red meat and eggs are high in cholesterol and carcinogens which have been proven to cause things like cancer and heart disease. Nonetheless Thank you for your videos. Edit: i watched everything you had to say after just seeing your comment and it seemed pretty fair what u had to say about but I think it’s best to avoid it

  • Nice video! You talk briefly about protein powder at the end, could you make a video where you go more in depth about what to look out for?

  • I was vegan for a long while, I never, ever thought I needed meat ever again. On a vegan diet I was never healthy, always fat and low on energy 24/7. Some people do wonderfully on a vegan diet. Others dont….

  • Thx for sharing this. I’ve got a question for you: what is your opinion on a well-planned plant based diet, especially for athletes? What do you think on this approach?

  • If you’re Paul Newman, you eat 50 eggs.

Do you know milk is the reason we have vitamins A, B, C, D, E, but no F. They took one look at milk and said, “There’s no F in whey.”

  • I had tiny spots of Herpes as well as handled it trying this Herpes guide 4HerpesCure.Com The outcomes were impressive therefore i decided to further make use of the treatment in the facial area. It decreased the outbreaks and just makes my skin really feel a lot more healthy…

  • A Whole Foods plant based diet is the proven best diet on the planet. I don’t understand with all the science to prove that, people still argue about eggs and things like that. Obviously you don’t eat eggs or cows milk how could that be good for humans? Peep my YouTube channel it’s dope.

  • Dialysis patient…so low phos and potassium is a must, so kinda finding it hard…feel like overeating alot but I cant have to much of the beans oats an mostly zero potatoes

I do get iron less often tho than the meat eater patients though which is interesting

  • That maybe true..but look at the top performing soldiers… they ate meat. so.. eating moderate meat is best for a good armed force.
    VEGETARIAN?

A HIGH vegetable diet, means lower cholesterol and improved chloesterol.

    BUT….

    a. It also lowers your testosterone. Many vegetables n beans have estrogen n kill off your male hormones.

    b. It lowers your energy level. Just won’t work. Olympic athletes know this to be true.

    c. there are vitamins n minerals that are only found in meat.

    d. Lastly, learn a real lesson from history. The Hindu’s are the earliest vegetarian society ever found. They balanced their diets perfectly…. by 1526, their society had been completely conquered by the Mughal empire. The Hindu emperor fled, hiding in the mountains. If the British hadn’t intervened….. Hindu culture would be extinct today. So you want to go vegan? What kind of soldiers will you raise?

    MODERATION IN ALL THINGS.

  • Surprised at the warning in the description. Having tried both vegan, and keto, at different points, I’d say it definitely smacks of bias, as both have supporting evidence, both have good and bad studies, and both have fans that subscribe to their chosen path with an almost religious fervor. I find myself watching fewer and fewer TED Talks as the years go by, and that warning, unless also applied to other new/”fad” diet talks, only serves to reinforce the impression (to me) that TED Talks have declined in quality and credibility.

  • I do not normally like giving my views about certain matters, but the Herpes treatment solution 4HerpesCure.Com is simply too great not to share due to its fast and effective outcomes. I saw a massive development right after just Two days. This morning, the Herpes were almost unseen as well as treated.

  • My own back was infected with a bad skin Herpes for six months and that i conferred with several medical professionals to relieve my skin problem but with no success. Immediately after applying many costly steroid products and the like, a good buddy highly recommended I consider this Herpes manual 4HerpesCure.Com There was no more Herpes soon after a few weeks of utilizing it..

  • I am so glad that I’ve finally been confirmed negative from this virus after so many misleading advises from people stating that this virus does not have a cure, this made me live a long time with this virus Herpes taking antiviral medications to manage it whenever I have an outbreak. I really thought there is no cure when I went to my doctor during an outbreak and he said I can only use medications to control and treat the sore blisters of outbreak’s but this was proved wrong with 4HerpesCure.Com. i tried this program and its really hepled me to get rid of herpes.

  • It is easy to figure out what effect foods will have on you. Just try different things like try eating only whole food plant-based with little to no oil for 30 days, go on, I dare you.

  • The information given in this talk does not lack scientific evidence. There are thousands of studies that show what Dr. Gregor is telling to be the truth. I have been eating a WFPB diet for 5 years and whenever a doctor looks at any of my test they do not believe it belongs to a 32-year-old woman with a desk job, they always think they were switched with a 15-year-old, which is funny, because people don’t believe I’m 32, they actually tell me I do not look over 20. Best thing, not how I look, but how I feel. If I’d know I’d be feeling this good before, I would have changed my lifestyle long ago. Made me so mad once I realized how great, light, and carefree I felt just by changing what I eat (instead of how much), that this information seems to be so secretive, or “lacking sufficient scientific evidence”, even to doctors. Share this information! Make the change! you will not be sorry!

  • If you’re a soccer player under 30, just eat clean folks. Cut out the bad sugar and you’ll be fine. Good lord, some of the greatest players in the 80s and 90s smoked cigarettes before a damn game! Lol.

  • Lectins, Phytates, Oxalates & Saponins are all anti nutrients,… ANTI nutrients which block the absorption of nutrients in food & these ANTI nutrients are all found in vegetables!
Pound for pound, meat is the most nutrition dense food on the planet:)

  • This is a really good video, We tracked down an article about Research Shows Plant Protein Increases Longevity let’s checkout https://www.strengthyogi.com/new-research-shows-plant-protein-increases-longevity/

  • Let’s be real for a second. Mostly Plant based is definitely healthier than most ways of eating. Mostly, not entirely. But eating plant based will not cure your arthritis and back pains outside of weight loss taking pressure off the joints. But if your joints and back are deteriorating, plant based won’t fix that.

  • All that stuff said about eating the cellular memory of an animal is what I also feel. I have thought about it a lot and the mechanics of how those cellular memories get stored, especially at the end, is through all the hormones pumping throughout their body. All that fight or flight as they smell the blood, see the carnage and hear the sounds. The very last heartbeats of a slaughtered animal pumping so much harder and faster with all that fear it is no wonder that our culture is plagued with hate and fear resulting in so much violence. I am not saying that eating meat causes violence but I feel it may contribute to it.

  • I was enduring Herpes since I had been in my teens and soon after above Twenty years, I was not able to treat this health issue. Even I’ve consulted quite a few dermatologists to checked what exactly I have got, the thing is still there. I straight away tried this Herpes guidebook 4HerpesCure.Com for about 30 days, amazingly, the Herpes never appear…

  • Sleeping after Thanksgiving dinner may be caused by hearing conversation between relatives you never really thought were that interesting.

  • ONE OF THE BEST TALKS I HAVE EVER HEARD ON YOUTUBE…& I listen to a LOT!!! BRILLIANT & HEARTFELT. TOTALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE TO ME & MY CHOICES. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TALK..I AND MANY MORE…NEED IT!! THANK YOU. GREATLY APPRECIATED. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.

  • There have been year-long white bread studies and it is processed in the body no differently then grain breads. I choose grain breads because I have problems with my intestines.

  • As per ayurveda, root cause of every disease is in stomach And basically if a human eats flesh it doesn’t get digested but it get rots as our digestive system is not capable of digesting meat.( Don’t agree, try eating raw meat.)
To all meat eatersif u don’t care of innocent animals atleast care for your own health and become vegetarian/vegan.
We don’t have any right to kill innocent animals for their flesh, let them live their lives.

  • Shame on tedx for the comments regarding this being out of their guidelines. This makes me believe big pharma and corporations have their hand in TEDx. There is much evidence to back up this gentleman. Shame shame shame on Tedx. I will no longer be watching any of their events.

  • Thumbs UP for Pat’s informative and inspiring talk. Thumbs DOWN on TED for its cowardly and hand-wringing note distancing itself from this video. We flagged it (but with17k likes, we’ll treat it like the red-headed stepchild but keep it and claim those green monetization dollars!).

  • Hello I’ve been looking for videos about acceleration with the ball and since I didn’t anything interesting I think it would be nice from you to make one. Like: “the most efficient ways to accelerate with the ball”

  • Interesting…. But I doubt that arthritis can be reversed with diet. Also cellular memory…?.. Plants have cells too…. Poor things plucked from the ground chopped up n ate?..

  • I have gone vegan during lockdown, since three months, lost 10 kg weight, less bp,,less medication better breath.. feeling better and great.

  • Greger was raised in a small Arizona town, “the only Jewish family within 30 miles.” His parents were New York natives; his mother taught Biblical Hebrew at the community college.

  • Am I missing something?

I stopped eating white bread, sugars and processed food.

Lunch and dinner: I only eat carbs in one of these meals (quinoa is my favourite), I measure the size of the protein with the palm of my hand (I love seitan, jack fruit, vegan burgers, tofu..) and eat salad on both meals (I like watercress with onion, tomato and olive oil dressing).

At breakfast I eat Weetabix Protein with coconut unsweetened milk, banana and Shia seeds.

In the middle of the morning I usually eat a tangerine.

If I feel hungry late at night have rice crackers with avocado. I have a treat at the weekend. I do exercise (HIIT or full body free weights training) 3 times a week. I drink plenty of water (small sips during the day).

Sometimes, between meals, I eat olives or unsalted dry fruits (pistachios, almonds) but not very often.

  • Loved the talk! Thank you so much. I wish this reaches most of us in the world and we all understand the importance of a balanced diet and lifestyle.

  • Loved the talk! Thank you so much. I wish this reaches most of us in the world and we all understand the importance of a balanced diet and lifestyle.

  • Hey Matt I’ve been trying to figure out a question I have and I was wondering if maybe you or someone in the comments can help with it. So I play soccer and I’m trying to increase my quickness of feet and I was wondering if occasionally training for quicker feet after doing some sprints to fatigue your legs would be beneficial?

  • I’ve got the complete opposite story, was eating a plant based diet and switched to less plants and more meat everything improved. We’re all different I guess

  • Great talk, very relatable. This country puts profit over people. What Americans are putting in theirs mouths 3x/day is killing them and there are many big industries profiting off of this. Live your best life and nourish yourself with diet we are meant to digest whole plant foods

  • I knew all the things he is talking about and i was always thinking to go vagan and I have finally started to be vagan and its been for 4 days now. Wish me luck

  • Wow that was very interesting! Especially the part about the cellular memory! I just started my journey as a vegan and this video just completely confirms that I made the correct choice!

  • That maybe true..but look at the top performing soldiers… they ate meat. so.. eating moderate meat is best for a good armed force.

  • I can testify to this! it is the best decision I have ever made. I don’t take supplements or any other medications. I’m 65 years and I don’t know the last time I saw a Doctor. My body is the pharmacy and I like it. I recommend that any one with health issues just to try it.

  • Not everybody thrives on vegeterian diet.I tried it twice and got weaker and weaker to an extent of collapsing in public. When i eat meat esp red meat i become alive so i have decided its best to listen to my body.

  • Sports drinks have lot of salt and acid. So I believe really should be only consumed by people who actually do heavy sport for hours, being sweating a lot. Otherwise nothing beats H2O

  • Animals run away and yell for help when you kill it. Plants and fruits stay in one place so that we may nourish ourselves. There is negative energy in meat. Positive energy in plants and fruits.

  • This video has great information, but I’m confused about the best diet plan that I need to work with, only because I have never taken any. Anybody tried the Custokebon Secrets? I’ve heard several folks refer to extraordinary things about Custokebon Secrets.

  • For 8 yrs I have suffered terrible hay fever, last year I went vegan, this year i haven’t had to take a single allergy tablet not one!! I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

  • I love ❤️ meat because most of our prophets eat meat and they don’t have no problem but now this meat is poisonous ☠️ but if it’s organic I guest it’s good for us but I will change plan base for 6 months to check how my body change god willing

  • Mike you should do it alone. You’re much more articulate. Not saying Tristan is not good but sounds too much like reading from a script. Sorry guys just my opinion

  • This video started a 48 hour research binge that ended in me going vegan 6 months ago!! Feel so much better, my migraines/acid reflux (undiagnosed lactose intolerance symptoms) are gone, and my family keeps telling me how good I look. Eternally grateful to this man!!

  • Absolutely wonderful talk.
Note that YouTube does not agree about how compelling the evidence is. The fact is that this information has been fully known for 30 years and has not been disseminated to the American public. Why not?
I leave it to you to answer that question for yourself.

  • I can’t believe we live in a world where the highest percentage is ignorant… Just look at USA and their diet, oh my Lord. PLANT BASED DIET IS DESIGNED FOR HUMANS, and it simply cannot be discussed. It’s a FACT, it’s the TRUTH, it’s a LAW!

  • I have been trying this Elevacity product for memory and focus and it actually works as a weight loss product too. Here is my blog of my journey and the product. I do not sell the product!! https://foreigngirly.com/2020/08/05/elevacity/

  • Love this man, he speaks at seemingly random speeds and just chooses a random word to emphasise every now and then, must be all the broccoli.

  • Animal eaters are against vegans because VEGANs want to force everyone else to be vegans. There should not be an argument about what other people want to put in their bodies. Why else would vegans say that it is not nice to kill animals. How else do we eat them ALIVE? Our BRAINS are made up of CHOLESTEROL which is ONLY available from eating ANIMALS., so is our HEART, liver and other organs. Cholesterol is used to make TESTOSTERONE AND ESTROGEN as well as proving ESSENTIAL cellular functioning. If fact, low CHOLESTEROL LEVELS can even lead to SUICIDE. PLANTS provide ZERO CHOLESTEROL, and you need it EVERY DAY. Read the article published by HARVARD EDU newsletter

Vegans rate of SUICIDE is 33% HIGHER than general population.

BEYOND MEAT and other veggie burgers have ANIMAL FAT listed as an ingredient as well as CANCER CAUSING INGREDIENTS AND LAXATIVES. The PROFIT according to stockholder records is 600%, on BEEF its 5%. WHY SUCH THIEVES RUNNING THE VEGGIE COMPANY. Do you know what ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS ARE???? NOT FOUND IN VEGGIES AND THEY ARE ESSENTIAL FOR LIFE and plants have none of them. Animal dung is used for FERTILIZER to grow plants. Its a symbiotic relationship.. So how do you fertilize the plants without animal fertilizer. You can use ARTIFICIAL FERTILIZER made from PETROLEUM Yes, that is what MONSANTO uses to make fertilizer. GASOLINE!!! YES, you are eating veggies made from PETROLEUM. Our CO2 levels are at 400 ppm, they used to be at 4,000 ppm. Did you know that PLANTS DIE when CO2 levels reach 300. How do you explain loving plants, wanting to use them for your ONLY food source Yet you INSIST that we must kill the FOOD PLANTS EAT THEY EAT CO2 and kick out Oxygen. If the PLANTS DIE we die too because we will have no OXYGEN!!! Eat some meat You will live longer. You cant be nice to animals if you are DEAD!

  • If we’re talking longevity it seems the Okinawans pre WW2 did it best. They were plant based, mostly white sweet potatoes. However, the did eat very small portions of fatty meat, pork, a couple times a week, along with some broths that contained fish and bones. These old Okinawans outliving the rest of the world, vegans included, contributed their long lives to the small servings of animal products every few days. I suspect the added collagen and the dha/epa omega 3 found in animals made the difference for them.

  • I’m 15 weeks pregnant and I have been on and off a vegan and for the last 7 weeks I have been doing all my research watching every documentary to go full on vegan starting tomorrow. It’s going to be hard because of my cravings for cheese but I realized my kids don’t have a choice as to what I feed them until now. I will be starting a vegan diet tomorrow and never going back! GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO IS VEGAN AND WHO IS GOING TO GO VEGAN! Let’s save the planet and save the animals and our kids lives and future. Love outbeats ANYTHING!

  • Its not meat that is the problem its the Processed food that is the problem my tribe eats all the time. And we aren’t over weight etc. We don’t have high diabetes or other things its process food that is the issues.

  • PLant based diet will NOT work for you….UNLESS it’s ORGANIC, and UNLESS you also include some Fermented foods such as Yogurt, Fermented High protein BREADS….. Any Athlete will know what I’m talking about. Many Plant-based body builders and athletes STILL rely on Concentrated PLant-based Protein Powders to get enough protein, and unless these are fermented and containing enzymes, theyre also HARD to digest…..

  • Vegans stop watching at 2:18 and conclude that the study is priceless.
Normal people stop at 2:30 and conclude that the study is useless.

  • Nice video! You talk briefly about protein powder at the end, could you make a video where you go more in depth about what to look out for when getting some?

  • Tristan you need to become more camera friendly. Not everybody is meant to be in front of the camera Like Mike. Try to be more like him because you come across as a nervous dodo.

  • this is a shit study, why is this kind of useless studies always conducted over and over? hmm I wonder why… follow the money perhaps we would find vegan food companies supporting this shit

  • Nice video! You talk briefly about protein powder at the end, could you make a video where you go more in depth about what to look out for when getting some?

  • People arguing about becoming vegan or not. Just stop eating lab food full of chemicals and fake nutrients. Just by quitting processed food your health will improve. Eating a frozen prepackaged meal of vegetables is as bad as eating a processed piece of meat. It is full of chemicals and low nutrients.
That also includes those processed vegan patties which are full of stuff. Not all but most

My diet is called, avoid fake food as much as possible. Investigate the process and ingredients of what you eat.

  • I love this. I have this argument with my mother all of the time! She is type 2 diabetic and keeps telling me she can’t have fruit. I tell her it is good for her, just don’t overindulge. I get “the doctor tells me no fruit” Yet, she will have a large bowl of ice cream! Makes absolutely NO sense. Meanwhile I have been Vegan for 12yrs (recently went more Raw) and I have normal blood sugar, blood pressure and at 48, I’m on NO medications. I wish my mom would get it!

  • The study puts potatoes in the same category as processed sweets and desserts as well as chemically sweetened and flavored beverages.
I think I’m gonna take this with a very small pinch of salt.
Anyone who thinks potatoes are as bad as candy should not be running a study in the first place.

  • Hi there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply just do a google search engine search. On there you will discover that a great suggestions about how exactly you can lost a lot of weight. Why don’t you give it a shot? maybe it’ll work for you too.

  • I can’t trust many studies or even science anymore when it comes to nutrition cause there’s so many studies that contradict one another and so many made to get you to buy stuff. Plants having antinutrients and oxalates for example which can damage your health in excess (which is why many vegans drink lemon water and maybe get kidney stones) and then saying red meat is bad but never looking at the quality of the meat. I think its important to eat for your individual health concern and see nutritionist to design a diet for you or use your own intuition. The amount of ex-vegan videos out there that did it right and supplemented and still failed are a lot, and then you have the opposite crazy end of only carnivore eaters who are anti plants….there’s like a war over nutrition

  • So question I have is if you ate meat all your life then switch to vegan would you not when you reach I’m your senior years not have vitamin deficiency and protein and not have osteoporosis?

  • i really dislike how vegan, try to make all people vegan. by not telling the truth about the diet. it great for a bit but not long term. we had a family that put all children on the vegan diet. the 18mo old died of malnutrition. the dhs test all the kids and then took the way.

  • As a physicist (i.e. not an expert, but someone who understands and appreciates a scientific approach), and even as a vegan (plenty of people argue strongly one way or the other because it fits their narrative), I thought this was a great video!

  • OMG rubbing a candy bar on your face would create such bad acne. Sugar feeds bacteria like crazy, and if you have less functional pores, I think it could kill you. (At least from embarrassment.)

  • This guy is actually correct—being as grossly overweight as him clearly has no affect on anyones absolute mortality risk. Heart disease and diabetes have always been fake news

  • I am my best guinea pig.i had the opportunity to alternate between vegan(well,95%)and predominantly meat diet in my life, with 5 to 10 year cycles. The last 30 yrs, i find the predominantly vegan(my wife cooks fish once a week) diet and ‘normal lifestyle’ has kept me away fr the doctor(and I dont mean Dr Garth) for more than 15 yrs now.I am 67.

  • The major issue here is that plant fats are liquid at body temperature and animal fats are solid at body temperature. It is also that we are not omnivores and they can not be overfed cholesterol and they do not have heart attacks or strokes due to cholesterol. According to biological anthropologists we are starchivores.

  • Wow the first 3-5 minutes is off topic this is the worst video I’ve seen trying to relate to something else this video should’ve 100% been relating to “dispelling the biggest vegan myths”.

  • Wow the first 3-5 minutes is off topic this is the worst video I’ve seen trying to relate to something else this video should’ve 100% been relating to “dispelling the biggest vegan myths”.

  • Great piece Doc. Observational studies, especially without sufficient adherence to Scientific Method, having truly diverse and statistically significant number of subjects doesn’t seem that much to ask for. I’m not talking just an equal number of men and women, but different socioeconomic groups, nations of origin, cultural traditions, ethnic origin, level of education, various ages, over TIME.

Even if we just fix how new studies are reported today, something like this piece, but even more so. For example, there was a time when every T.V. Network had Science editor or regular scientific and medical contributors. Even our local Chanel’s had a Science, Tech and Medical Editor. Without that we raw information reported WITHOUT context.

For example, either late last year or early this year a study was released that indicated that eating a specific food, and that food eludes me at the moment, I’d have to go back check my notes. Whenever I here of a new study, in just about any branch of science or medicine I read the original study to check methodology, numbers, of start with their Thesis and Abstract, then the conclusion, read the procedure, data. Then read the and scholarly work, in support or denouncing the study and look for standing and other similar research. It sounds exhaustive, but it’s just the way my mind works.

At any rate, this study read and reported that for the average American, and they should have written it as non-Asian American. If you eat x your likelihood, probability, of developing Stomach Cancer increased 30%. So that is exactly what they reported. But no context. In the U.S. for non-Asian Americans, in men the probability of males developing Stomach Cancer is 1 in 95 and for women 1 in 154, and is THAT PROBABILITY that increased by 30%, NOT an American’s OVERALL RISK. But that’s how they left it hanging out there like that.

That makes me so angry‼️‼️ Thank you for ALL the hard work and dedication‼️‼️‼️♥️♥️♥️✊✊✊‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️⚗️⚗️⚗️

  • It is entirely possible to lose weight eating brownies and cookies, you’re just gonna be starving all the time because the food are extremely calorically dense. Also, you’re gonna have vitamin deficiencies, so don’t do it.

  • Mate, just check out Dr.Gregor please. He will fill you in. A whole food plant based diet is optimal for all people at all stages of life with very few exceptions.

    Check out ‘The China Study’.

The largest and most comprehensive study on human nutrition and related health effects ever done. It concludes that a whole foods plant based diet is the way to optimum health.

  • vegan diet is harful for your health it can cause vitamin b12 heme iron vitamin d omega 3 and zinc deficiency meat is good as long as you eat the grass feed and unprocessed ones not those corn feed and processed ones

  • Plants give me diarrhea. The only reason I found out that plants are poison is by not eating them regularly anymore. When I do eat them I get gas, diarrhea and my hemorrhoids flair up and I break out with acne.

  • Thank you so much for this show you guys do an excellent job of giving just enough details so that we can see where your conclusions are coming from but not too many details that the overall message is masked, it’s great to have a reliable educated, fact checked source that explains the holes in research

  • Uhhh how bout the RCTs done by Dr Caldwell Esselstyn and Dr Dean Ornish??? They reversed our number one killer, why are you completely ignoring that

  • Thank you!! I’m an over eater, (even now that I’ve switched to a wfpb way of eating), and it’s cause is mostly emotional and boredom. Taking responsibility and control is very good advice. In fact everything you talk about is fantastic advice. I’ve started adding chickpeas to meals I’ve not thought of before and not only does it bulk it out, but I have plenty of extra meals for lunches.
    Love your content, thanks again

  • You handsome❤. Overeating is a mental problem. You just eat when your body dont want eat and Gain weight… nothing will help exept decision not to overeat. Like quit smoking…for some this would be a problem. You need to keep your word. Eat small portion of vegan food. Start with very little portion. Than eat naturally. Like when you feel thats enough. I start my diet with fruits and veggies. A little portion. I want to lose weight. 66 to 55 kg.

  • While I don’t disagree with him, and certainly buy in to the plant based whole food lifestyle, Dr. Garth Davis is a bit provocative. I just don’t believe you have to be demeaning to make a valid argument. There’s plenty of evidence to support eating a whole food vegan diet. You don’t need to make fun of or belittle those who support a heavily meat based diet to convince others of the validity of eating plants.

  • Rare or Medium Rare, any more than that and I feel like I have ruined my steak. Having a new grill, that can be hard to attain. Just switched to propane, and I am still getting used to it.

  • The pleasure trap is so true! It’s something that has been HUGE for me. Just eat simply!:)

When you eat hyper-palatable foods like brownies and smoothies, even if they’re made of whole foods, it’s easy to overeat or think you’re hungry when you’re not. You may be hungry enough to have a sticky sweet stir-fry, but are you hungry enough to eat the rice and vegetables on their own? If you’re not hungry enough to have a bowl of vegetable soup you’re probably not actually hungry, you’re just pleasure-seeking.

  • Hi. If you havnt already, you should consider speech to text software. Could help you create some amazing content. You’re really good at motivation. Thank you! Your videos do help me a lot!

  • Great information! I admire how fit and lean and energetic you are, proving that vegans can be athletes, bodybuilders, and “real men”. One recommendation: please, slow down your speaking speed. It is so fast that even a fluent speaker of English can have some difficulty in understanding you sometimes.

  • Anyone else feel satiated with white carbs but not brown ones? I don’t know if it’s mental or physical but I can moderate white rice just fine but I could eat piles of brown rice! same for bread too (real bread, not sandwich loafs)

  • Finally! Some sensible advice. Just started a WFPB diet after losing 5 stone. I have been struggling to maintain my weight and have put a little on. This thing about eating as much as you want clearly doesn’t work for me. Cutting back on the tofu and upping the legumes is a great tip thank you. I love oats but was also adding nuts and seeds, possibly too much. I was getting very hungry between meals and snacking on nuts etc..so maybe I need to up my legumes and root veggies and have them to snack on when I get the munchies really bad.

  • You are very good at speaking to the group. Your pacing and content are perfect…no wasted time or bird walking. My time is well spent listening to you. Thank you!

  • BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT☺ what a great video, so many good tips..Love the food diary idea I shall definitely be doing that one. THANK YOU so much

  • I really love how I find that I’m struggling with something one week and the next thing I know I see you’ve posted a video addressing the exact thing that’s troubling me. I absolutely love your content and advice!

  • Matt have you seen the video by Jeff Nippard where he reference’s spot reduction, and reference’s a study that suggested doing resistance training followed by 30 minutes of light cardio increased fat loss in those areas of muscles that were worked? What do you think of that?

  • I have been plantbased for 12 years but I’m not a fan of misinformation, so Sorry Mr Davis you have some gapping holes here.

The climate change issue, if you look at objective stand alone science the truth is there, there is no climate change, if you look into who funds these so called unbiased studies and trace it back you will find that there are massive finical intrest’sin climate change and pushing this narrative and along with the WHO saying the vegan diet is suitable for everyone, and of all age groups but notice how the Bill Gates organization, ops sorry World “health” Organization does not say optimalfor all ages or people? do you know why? becuase its not,, but again the idea isn’t for us t follow a wholefoods plantbased diet its for us to follow a vegan diet 80% junk food processed food diet, andany fake meats they can come up with thats franken foods.
I’m afraid you can eat fat to get thin, and not only is the science there Dr Davis but the results are there, do you know how many people are healing themselves on a low carb diet 100s and 100s and its growing, yes some are even doing it plantbased style.
One ofthe slideshas the BBC on itwellBill gates has donated a lot of money to the BBC andagain this is just so he can influence and control, think this is all conspiracy? have a lookedat the universities he has donated toin the UK, all the ones who are involvedwith COVID-19 also the Uk vaccination board where he has payed off every member.
Veggie is probably the most long term diet relating to health, butof course when followed correctly, manyof the ancient yogi’s and spiritual leaders were veggie.
Waiting for a valid argumentagainst veganism? Don’t get me started, i’ll blow that one out of the water in a few lines.
DR GARTH DAVIS you can keep quoting the blue zone study, but none are vegan or even 80% plantbased, thats a house of cards argument.
The7thday Adventists who live in a LomaLinda are VEGETARIAN DR DAVIS NOT VEGAN! 10% DAIRY 4% MEAT AND POULTRY 1% EGGS 1% FISH.
No letterspast the name? letterspast the name means in a lot of cases nothing, it just means you have payed 1000s for a piece of paper, there are plenty with that piece of paper in a frame, but it don’t add up to much when they get the presentation debunked by a layman.
Yes of courseprocessed meats are bad but to much fruit doesn’t work well for everyone, and some people have gotten fat on fruit due to not eatingmindfully and not dealing with underlining health issues, plus there is a lot of poor quality fruit out there, so you do need good fruit knowledge.
yes some will get fat on carbs if not implanted correctly, and eating the right sort of carbs and not mixing everything together.
The mediterranean diet is carb heavy but also containsanimal products and olive oil, so if oil is so bad for you Dr Davis why do many people do fine on it?
Yes glucose is for some a primary fuel source, but do you know how many people are doing awesomely well with ketosis? 100s and 100s and 100s many find great benefits of this weather they’re on a plantbased diet or follow another diet.
Carbs to fat isn’t rare, many people have experienced this, the process is called lipogenesis and sometimes is due to insulin spikes.
THE FAT YOU EAT IS THE FAT YOU WEAR i’m afraid this has always been total bollocks andif you look at the state of Mcdougall these days, who isn’t vegan by the way he eats animals 1-2 times a year, I think he should have upped his fat intake, its integral for our over all health, anyone who comes out with such crap like Mcdougall is going to have some serious health issues in the end.
IF you think the vegan diet is better for the environment you are dreaming, I would be more than happy to point out the many reason this is not true but I would be here a long time.
Actually it should be many vegans, why do you under eat with your proteinrequirements, and this is very true if you look at a lot of standard vegans they look very low in that macro, you don’t have to increase by a lot but ts worth checking out, and finding a balnce that works for you.
You don’t have to see B12 defiantly but take it seriously do not treat it has a joke like MrDavis here, i’ve seen someone having to go on B12 shots due to the health issues they had and didn’t monitor there B12 and yes they’ were plantbased.
The only ones on a plantbased diet who have deficiencies are the ones who had underlying health issues or are not eating enough wholefoods or not enough raw foods, or are fatafoabs.
Ethical vegans? like there is more than one group, there are only ethical vegans, if you are not thenyou’re plantbased, veganism has always been for the animals and fuck everything else, ethical vegans are like a cult who live in a dream world and don’t have clue how much their diet impacts crop types, other wildlife and the planet, same with the animal rights lot who are totally blind.
I will concur that Heme Iron is very bad especially for women’s menstrual cycles, I worked with a women once who, errrrrwell it flowed like a river, she had to spend the day in bed totally wasted, but once she got offred meat it was night and day, massive improvements.
I concur about lectins and if you want a laugh check out dr gundy the most debunked doctor out there and his lectin theories lol
Beans are actually resistant starch, one of the best things for your gut, many many studies have proven this.
Omega 3 and 6 isn’t just about the inflammation its about the Brian health regarding what ALA converts too, yes 6s can be a factor but get a supplement do not guess to see if you have anok conversion rateother wise you can possibly look at brain shrinkage leading to neurological disorders etc.
DR Greger thinks its the most ethical, then hes asleep has well, but then he needs tofind some way to stay in business, yes folks hes a businessman has well, yes he doesn’t charge you for his nutritional facts.org videos but look at all the donations he gets do you think he isn’t taking a decent cut? if you said no, please wake up.

  • Americans eat too much bacon and butter, if you eat Carbondale your body turn into fat, because fat is part of animals and plants. You guys eat so bad and than make crazy study on nutrition… No problem with butter cookies etc…

  • Part of the problem with RCTs and nutrition, in my opinion, is that nutrition is very much tied to a person’s health. What right do we have to possibly make participants sick or obese (a pattern that can be very hard to break out of) for research purposes? Furthermore, it’s very hard, nutritionally, to compare apples ot apples, figuratively speaking. Is a bag of potato chips equal to a baked potato or mashed potatoes? Can you really lump fruit in with candy or meat? Just from my own experience, I can say I feel a lot better eating fresh fruit so often (now that I live less than 2 miles from multiple grocery stores… instead of being 65 miles away…). Of course, the plural of anecdote isn’t data and I’m sure results vary. Still, it’s hard to see fresh fruit as ‘unhealthy’. Furthermore, I’m sure that not all meat is created equal. There’s a big difference between a boiled chicken salad and fried chicken with fries, for example. That said, I’m sure I’m biased, as likely pretty much everyone is. Full disclosure, I’m vegetarian (in part because I really don’t like writhing in pain for hours on end after eating meat… it’s just not fun for me). Of course I’m going to personally think that a gluten-based diet with lots of fresh fruit and veggies and grains (and the occassional egg or dairy product) is awesome because that’s what I eat, and I do well on it. Clearly, imposing my diet on someone with Celiac’s disease would be a very, very bad idea. I think this is why nutrition science is so difficult. Everyone’s body is different, and one size may never fit all.

  • I was vegan for 11 years and really the only thing to supplement for is vitamin B12. The remainder of what you listed can come through food or a daily multiple vitamin but if it’s a well-rounded diet it needs no supplementation other than B12. I was not leaking in my twenties when I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia because I had no B12 in my system I have intrinsic factor so I need to take it by muscle injection once a month.

  • Great presentation. I try to listen to the Vegan Doc’s and Keto Carnivore Doc’s presentations. Both sides are pretty extreme and present mostly epidemiological studies to support their views. When it all gets confusing and I don’t know who to believe I have a simple strategy. Look at nature. Plants, fruits and animals, unrefined and fresh.

  • I taken care of the tiny spots of Herpes applying this Herpes guide 4HerpesCure.Com. The outcomes had been wonderful so I made a decision to further use the treatment method in the face. It reduced my outbreaks and just makes my skin feel so much more healthful…

  • The B12 that our gut microbiome create is below the barrier in which it is bio-available in the body. Most of the B12 goes down the toilet. Many animal species get their B12 by eating their sh**.

  • Did he seriously include meat as part of an unhealthy VEGAN diet?? Plus, potatoes aren’t unhealthy! They’re a high GI food, sure, but that doesn’t make them bad for you. They’re friggin’ starchy vegetables!

  • Greger sounds more like a scam artist salesman than a scientist/doctor in this talk he doesn’t go deep at all into any science he simply repeats mantras and catch phrases. What a buffoon, can understand how people take him seriously

  • I want to become a VEGAN but legumes are a no no for my stomach…i can have soya in the lunch & other veggies…apart from soya products what should i add as a protein source can anyone please tell me ( i am from india )

  • This is not theater Tristan if you want theater go back to your theater group. This is not acting and I would love to see you have a science angle with this channel!

  • My grandad eat only beef and live to 92, no to humans are the same and no we shouldn’t use cards for energy we should use fat that how we are built, did this guy read the very latest research done on beef, you have more chance of catching cancer living on busy street.

  • Vegan are koookooos!!!! They are loosing they mind and you are paid by vegan communities! You’re are all fake and crazy. My grandparents eat meat, butter, dairy and lived a long life. You are coocooo!

  • I’m vegan but I disagree with his logic. He says one can find whatever one wants when looking at research and then went he finds studies that disagree with him he uses the No True Scotsman fallacy. We could do that with the meta-analyses on red meat consumption and just simply say the exact same thing: “People are getting cancer from omnivore diets but it’s no a proper diet because it’s all junk food the people burgers are having it with a pint of cola and fries, and following it up with a doughnut”. I do agree with his point that a lot of vegans are eating junk food, which is a problem. It would be terrible if everyone started living off processed meat substitutes!

  • This guy deserves a Medal.:) Thank you Dr Greger for all your work and passion and changing the lives of thousands of people. I owe you and other Doctors who dedicated their life (and documentaries too e.g Forks Over Knives, Game Changers, what The Health) who revolutionized my belief system of what “healthy eating” really is. If not for all of you, I would still be gorging on dairy and meat naively. In behalf of all the people you have helped and will help in the generations to come, THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU! <3

  • My understanding when it comes to beans, lentils, grains…they are dormant foods and contain phetic acid. Not the best thing to consume when your fighting a disease. Best to sprout them then eat.

  • A Whole Foods plant based diet is the proven best diet on the planet. I don’t understand with all the science to prove that, people still argue about eggs and things like that. Obviously you don’t eat eggs or cows milk how could that be good for humans? Peep my YouTube channel it’s dope.

  • Never seen so many fallacies in a single presentation….. I agree with everything he said in the beginning before talking about nutrition though sadly it applies to veganism too

  • Use your body as a test subject, been vegan for two months, can breath through my nose, can sleep, great sleep. Clear headed, tons of energy. Feel amazing all day,,,, thanks for video!

  • January 6, 2020 will be our 2yr Vegan Anniversary! Thank God for healthier temples. Although we didn’t eat beef or pork, eliminating meat has been such a blessing.
We get our protein from nuts and lentils etc and take Omega 3 /Fish oil and B12. We also juice. No processed foods, sugars, caffeine, GMO or soy products.

  • 0:14 Prediction: Even if the new study has good research (high sample size, RCT, weren’t looking at a gazillion things or properly accounted for it if they were, etc.), I bet the effect size is small enough that you do not make that recommendation. And I also would be surprised if the research hit all the points I mentioned.

  • The reason you think turkey makes you sleepy, is because you enjoyed visiting with family you haven’t seen in maybe a year, and some wonderful company, and you are so very relaxed and just want to chill and have the afternoon/evening, last as long as possible. The other reason is, if you fall asleep and are snoring good, maybe they won’t make you get up and help with the clean-up (in our family it’s the teenagers and the young. un-marrieds. (No turkey emoji)

  • I am not against plants, I believe they can be very beneficial for someone with good gut health to be able to break down all of the oxalates, lectins and phytates. I believe that the WFPBD can even reverse heart disease. Why is that? Because you are not ingesting processed carbohydrates and refined oxidized vegetable oils, simple as that, after that the vegan WFPBD is missing allot of key nutrients that can only be found in animal products in abundance and of which are BIOAVAILABLE. Some of these are but not limited to OMEGA 3 fatty acids (DHA) not ALA from plants that have a hard time converting to DHA in the body. Conjugated Linoleic Acid(CLA) is another important fatty acid that you can’t get from plants that has many health benefits that nobody knows about. You are missing out on ESSENTIAL amino acids for not only healing and rebuilding new tissue but suppling the body with cofactors for enzymatic reactions that help the body produce detoxification antioxidants such as glutathione and Metallothioneine that keep your brain and body free of dangerous heavy metals that have been KNOWN to cause Alzheimer’s. Some of these amino acids are Cysteine, L-Carnitine, Trytophan, Taurine, Tyrosine, Lysine, beta alanine, histidine, just to name a few, and yes the plant based diet CAN supply these, but not in abundance, and for some people, based off of their genetics will always be deficient unless you supplement. How about Zinc? Abundantly available in allot of different animal products, you mean a simple trace mineral that is responsible for hundreds of enzymatic reactions in the body responsible anywhere from brain health to eye sight to stomach acid. How about Retinol? Yes beta carotene( a precursor for Vit A) very abundant in plants, but has to be broken down and converted into Vit A down a long road of enzymatic conversions, and again, if your genetics down regulate those pathways you need more Bioavailable Vit A. Now I’m not saying beta carotene is bad, many plants with beta carotene come with carotenoids that are very healthy! Another important mineral or iron. Again, lots available in plants, but not HEME! BIOAVAILABLE! How about B12? Strictly in meat. And if you are vegan you better be supplementing. Important for brain health and nervous system amongst many other important things. Not too many people talking about the benefits of Carnosine, now considered imperative for brain health and has longevity properties, strictly in animal products. Have to mention creatine, strictly in animal foods, supply the body with methyl donators to enhance intercellular DNA methylation and helps gene SNP’s keep in check. Not to mention creatine helps build strength and boost cognitive function. Another important nutrient you really only get from animal products is called choline…aids in DNA synthesis, protects brain and nervous system, and every single cell in your body needs it, it is after all a neuro-transmitter, another great methyl contributor. Here’s another vitamin that important that is strictly found in animal products and Natto:) that is important for clearing coronary calcium to the bones and collagen: VITAMIN K2. Maybe thats why when people go on a strict animal product diet their CAC scores vastly improve. It’s ok a CAC test is only the best test to see if you have heart disease and clogged arteries… but again I’m NOT against plants, that all have their place and I think they can be delicious, but nobody can deny the fact that many people have healed from animal products. The studies are very new and don’t have as much traction as a strict plant based diet does as many people that confide in “science” can only relate too. Lots of case studies and anecdotal evidence. People don’t understand that the brain and nervous system is made out of FAT. All meat diets, Keto are NOT fads, in my mind they are just as important and medicinally relevant as a whole food plant based diet. All these diets DO IN FACT have a common ground, the riddance of processed carbohydrates and processed/refined/oxidized vegetable oils. Keto and Carnivore are for people that cant digest plants, and there are plenty that can’t. It all depends on the biodiversity of ones gut. If you want to argue over which diet is better, there will never be a best diet, there are too many variables. If you really want to be healthy eat nutritionally dense foods, exercise, meditate, fast.

  • You guys are just lovable loons. You should do stand up comedy. On stage in front of a crowd. A crowd of people. With eyes. That look at you. Analyse you. Those eyes are staring at your souls. WTF is wrong with me?

  • Very inspiring speech. A vegan diet is a good long-term decision for your own life. You do your contribution for a better environment and improve your health

Read the article published by HARVARD EDU newsletter

    https://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/cholesterol-the-mind-and-the-brain

Vegans rate of SUICIDE is 33% HIGHER than general population.

    https://www.humanewatch.org/new-evidence-suggests-link-between-vegetarianism-and-depression/

  • Having watched Game Changers and a lot of the fascinating David Attenborough documentaries, I’ve become vegetarian and am transitioning to veganism.
    This is a great video.
    Thank you.

  • What’s really stupid is saying with certainty what the shape of the earth is, people told me the earth was round so I never looked into it, I tried debunking “flat earth” well… That didn’t work out how. Thought it would so all I’m saying is “DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!” For the love of God/Truth

  • Hey all! Speaking very anecdotally here regrettably but hopefully me documenting my experiences helps you in some way! If you have a strong draw to moving in a plant-based direction, I implore you, just start! So many of us sit on the fence for TOOOOO long! Taking action is key! Ryan:)

  • I went full plant based and my total cholesterol went from 205 to 159 in just two weeks! Yes, two weeks! LDL went from 138 to 100 and triglycerides went from 129 to 95! HDL remained at 40.

  • Thus guys doesn’t know anything about ethics to start with. I could bury him with out showing any studies. Wow, and he calls himself a Dr.

  • Having watched Game Changers and a lot of the fascinating David Attenborough documentaries, I’ve become vegetarian and am transitioning to veganism.
    This is a great video.
    Thank you.

  • This is exactly what all vegans do they compare healthy vegan food like fruit to hot dogs, which everyone who knows anything about healthy eating knows is bad. Vegans never compare the vegan diet to a clean “paleo” diet, they compare it to the garbage standard American diet. This is such propaganda. The Mediterranean diet is HIGH in animal fats! Tons of shellfish, clean unprocessed meats, cheese, come on… this guy is a liar. This insane mentality is why we have an epidemic of obesity and diabetes. We were told to eat high carb, low fat for decades, and here we are. Meanwhile people are switching to a high fat low/no carb diet and losing all their body fat and curing diabetes. If we aren’t genetically designed to eat meat, why do vegans constantly look for meat alternatives like fake meat sausages and hamburgers? Or fake vegan cream/milk? It’s because your body knows better than you and craves those things, and you are tricking your body with fake meat. Think about that. Also, here’s some real facts for you…. if meat was toxic or cancer causing, the Inuit and Masai wouldn’t exist. That’s reality, vs your alternative anti-meat pretend facts.

  • I change my diet to plants base diet a week ago No more allergies, no more feeling exhausted, Insomnia, constipation, stress.
No more pills or Nasal spray
I feel amazing. full of energy,Happy, relax.

  • My grandad eat only beef and live to 92, no to humans are the same and no we shouldn’t use cards for energy we should use fat that how we are built, did this guy read the very latest research done on beef, you have more chance of catching cancer living on busy street.

  • The only thing a truth is is a bunch of lies tied together.
Climate change you MUST understand what it means economically OMG THINK
Climate change POLICY is the real point of discussion… CO2 is GOOD FOR PLANTS.

YES you can SEE climate change, but NO ITS NOT HUMANS CAUSING IT… that is the point.
We just make it more toxic and dangerous. Climate change will always happen because of THE SUN.

Great talk man, the right direction, just a little bit OFF, thats more dangerous actaully than questioning the truth, i believe.

However being a Vegan or a meat is typically as ALL things in life UP TO THE PERSON DOING IT everything is personal the real diception is removing you from your self knowledge and awareness. Never follow others Teach how to follow yourself.

Nothing is at it seems, maybe the earth is flat haha in 2D it is… in 3D it’s not EVERYTHING is TRUE but then you have to truly understand philosophy first.

  • Did he just say 40 g of fiber in his breakfast? This is very interesting for me aside from being Vegan. I do not have any problem with vegan or plant based. However, I want to know “What about the rest of the day? And how many fiber is he intaking daily in total? ” that will be a great case study for me.

  • Okay I’m trying to lose weight I’ve been 58-57kg since June, so I’m doing plant based diet but im scared if fruit and starchy vegetables will stop me from losing weight. I don’t want to count calories I fast for 18 hours. I need to see change in my body and on the scale so plzzzz help me if you have any tips on how to lose weight?

  • Vegan are koookooos!!!! They are loosing they mind and you are paid by vegan communities! You’re are all fake and crazy. My grandparents eat meat, butter, dairy and lived a long life. You are coocooo!

  • Ryan! Good transparency, young man. Great info with lots to consider. Thank you for this. No need to show your second portions/meals unless it’s relevant to YOU. The main point is that you don’t count calories, etc with plant based (unless you’re trying to maybe reach a minimum amount for training purposes). Keep doing what you’re doing and helping people understand that this lifestyle doesn’t need to be made complicated at all. That’s what’s so great about it!

  • I am intolerant to raw tomatoes and citrus, they make me spotty if I overdo them, and at 55 that’s not a good look.. I cannot stand avocado, celery and pear.. watercress, bell pepper and salsa.. other than that, we’re good to go.. Vegan FTA since July 2015, having survived the chip sandwich/beans on toast period, I am now WFPB and am loving it.. Xx

  • This demand for more and better beef, pork, chicken and other meats has meant that more and more animals are fed grain in tighter and tighter quarters. Half of the pork produced in the U.S. are raised in enclosed, pre-fabricated, confinement buildings. The animals may never see the sun until they’re loaded onto semi-trailer trucks for transport to the nearby slaughterhouse.

  • @Become Elite even if an agility ladder can’t actually improve ur agility can it still strengthen the soleus and/or gastrocnemius?

  • I had tiny spots of Herpes as well as handled it trying this Herpes guide 4HerpesCure.Com The outcomes were impressive therefore i decided to further make use of the treatment in the facial area. It decreased the outbreaks and just makes my skin really feel a lot more healthy…

  • Mostly plant based for the last few months. Still have dairy (cheese and homemade yogurt) and the occasional piece of fish. With all the options available, it’s not difficult.

  • The US Government advertises the products that they grow, no matter what they are. The meat/ dairy industry is included and therefore that how they draw up that famous chart.

  • I want to become a VEGAN but legumes are a no no for my stomach…i can have soya in the lunch & other veggies…apart from soya products what should i add as a protein source can anyone please tell me ( i am from india )

  • I don’t understand how he can stand there and say veganism is sooo healthy when I got so sick from it! I mean how can he stand there and spew propaganda when people are getting sick and only surviving on supplements!

  • Vegan for 3 years and was very interested in your video…until you went on the global warming rant and compared that to a holocaust denier…turned off the video.

  • Amazing! Plant based diet cured me. I started because I love my pets and can’t contribute to animal cruelty. Best decision ever made in life.

  • Very inspiring speech. A vegan diet is a good long-term decision for your own life. You do your contribution for a better environment and improve your health

  • Struggled with chronic fatigue for years. Went to so many doctors before trying a plant based diet and am totally converted now. Been plant based for 6-months and I’ve never felt better.

  • Shame on tedx for the comments regarding this being out of their guidelines. This makes me believe big pharma and corporations have their hand in TEDx. There is much evidence to back up this gentleman. Shame shame shame on Tedx. I will no longer be watching any of their events.

  • Great Video man! I personally highly recommend you do your own research aswell, you dont need to read a ton of studies or anything. Find youtubers you can trust, that have studied these fields and listen to every word theyre saying!

  • Interesting…. But I doubt that arthritis can be reversed with diet. Also cellular memory…?.. Plants have cells too…. Poor things plucked from the ground chopped up n ate?..

  • Great video! Here are a couple of topics that I think it will be interesting to talk about:

    Intermediate fasting in soccer

    Home cryotherapy before/after games

Dynamic vs static stretching routines during the week and prior to game day

  • I should preface this with the fact that I’ve been plant based for half a year now and love it. But as soon as he said we “take on that animals energy” I lost him. While I sympathize and agree with all his points about how cruel we are to animals, that we take on the animals pain is the kind of rhetoric that goes way too far beyond the “I’ll keep an open mind” zone for most people, and I feel that most people who were on the edge of considering a plant based change were turned off by something like that for sounding to new age.

  • Interesting. I find I get hungry very fast after eating potatoes, no matter how many I’ve had. Brown rice is more sustaining for me. We’re all different.

  • Great talk, very relatable. This country puts profit over people. What Americans are putting in theirs mouths 3x/day is killing them and there are many big industries profiting off of this. Live your best life and nourish yourself with diet we are meant to digest whole plant foods

  • I’m working on my Nutrition Coach certification with ISAA actually. Thanks for providing educational information. . I can’t believe you showed that idiot Chris Heria in the video. The fitness industry is full of idiocy. I hope to never become like these guys

  • Wow that was very interesting! Especially the part about the cellular memory! I just started my journey as a vegan and this video just completely confirms that I made the correct choice!

  • Great video! Here are a couple of topics that I think it will be interesting to talk about:

  • I can testify to this! it is the best decision I have ever made. I don’t take supplements or any other medications. I’m 65 years and I don’t know the last time I saw a Doctor. My body is the pharmacy and I like it. I recommend that any one with health issues just to try it.

  • Not everybody thrives on vegeterian diet.I tried it twice and got weaker and weaker to an extent of collapsing in public. When i eat meat esp red meat i become alive so i have decided its best to listen to my body.

  • 11:33 “mediterranean diet is about carbs”……lie!. i’m mediterranean. the main product in spain always has been rabbit. period.

  • I do not normally like giving my views about certain matters, but the Herpes treatment solution 4HerpesCure.Com is simply too great not to share due to its fast and effective outcomes. I saw a massive development right after just Two days. This morning, the Herpes were almost unseen as well as treated.

  • Ate at my parents house having steak shrimp and chicken…. My psoriatic athritis and lesions started to flare up, I could barely get up from bed! This was 4 days ago… The day after I started a plant based colorful diet…. JUST 4 DAYS my skin is clearer and my arthritis is much better! I used to have swollen stiff wrists… In just 4 DAYS THE SWELLING HAS IMPROVED! My wife threw out my methotrexate!!! I just couldn’t live on taking a dangerous medication while eating whatever I want! My rheumatologist and dermatologist NEVER GAVE MY ANY TYPE OF DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS!!!! THEY JUST PUSHED MEDS! MTRX, CLOBATESOL, ATARAX, TRIAMCINOLONE, HUMIRA!!! I can never go back to eating meat and taking such dangerous drugs!!! This video reminds me of how my life has changed so much in a short period of time. Like…I’m about to cry right now.

  • For 8 yrs I have suffered terrible hay fever, last year I went vegan, this year i haven’t had to take a single allergy tablet not one!! I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

  • i dont doubt a plant based diet is v beneficial but it cannot replace an EPIPEN???? like, really? You must not need an epipen if you can just get rid of fatal allergic reaction

  • I knew all the things he is talking about and i was always thinking to go vagan and I have finally started to be vagan and its been for 4 days now. Wish me luck

  • Not embarrassed to say that Game Changers indeed changed it for me lol, and I am not planning on going back; however it is whatever best suits you & helps your performance. I find a vegan/majority plant-based diet best suitable for my feelings, performance, and health for me as a footballer. ‍♂️

  • Hey matt, I do you think I should eat breakfast or skip it and fast because I don’t know whether it’s better to eat or not to eat while I’m on a caloric deficit. I think this could be a cool 2 minute Tuesday idea. Thanks for the great content, keep it up. Later man

  • The main reason I don’t eat red meats, and soon to be poultry, is because of how terrible and disgusting the industrial farming industry, as well as the horrible effects the industrial farming industry has on climate change. Also because of diseases that can outbreak on those industrial farms, like swine flu and mad cow

  • We have been plant based for 3 yrs and still feeling healthier each year. We also do a lot of crossfit style workouts and recovery is better on plant based.

  • Matt have you seen the video by Jeff Nippard where he reference’s spot reduction, and reference’s a study that suggested doing resistance training followed by 30 minutes of light cardio increased fat loss in those areas of muscles that were worked? What do you think of that?

  • Not embarrassed to say that Game Changers indeed changed it for me lol, and I am not planning on going back; however it is whatever best suits you & helps your performance. • Very important thing…….does running long distances help increase stamina? Like 7.5 km nonstop….or should you work on explosive or speed drills???? Pls reply soon ive been doing this for weeks now…running 7.5 km nonstop

  • If you’re a soccer player under 30, just eat clean folks. Cut out the bad sugar and you’ll be fine. Good lord, some of the greatest players in the 80s and 90s smoked cigarettes before a damn game! Lol.

  • Matt, aren’t a lot of the studies that are cited funded or supported by large lobbying organizations? These organizations have an interest in funding biased research.

  • Did he just say 40 g of fiber in his breakfast? This is very interesting for me aside from being Vegan. I do not have any problem with vegan or plant based. However, I want to know “What about the rest of the day? And how many fiber is he intaking daily in total? ” that will be a great case study for me.

  • Americans eat too much bacon and butter, if you eat Carbondale your body turn into fat, because fat is part of animals and plants. You guys eat so bad and than make crazy study on nutrition… No problem with butter cookies etc…

  • LOL to that disclaimer. The number of people putting out hate (not only here) because of Dr. Greger’s hair, appearance, speech, etc. is ridiculous. Aren’t you guys ashamed of yourselves? That’s called bullying. But, of course, when you lack arguments you gotta appeal to cognitive biases, right? It must feel very bad for you watching vegans and people on a plant-based diet thriving while people like Dr. Greger and plant-based doctors are changing the world and saving thousands, if not millions, of human lives & billions of animal lives while you sit behind a computer screen looking for ways to distort or avoid the facts so that you can tell you ego that your views are right.
I hope you (haters) realize the consequences of your unthoughtful actions. Just don’t blame vegans when your ketogenic or omnivore diet fails you. If plant-based doctors and science don’t suffice you, maybe you can rely on Jesus Christ, after all, he has lots of hair in the Western-Catholic brainw… I mean… portrail, right?

  • @Become Elite even if an agility ladder can’t actually improve ur agility can it still strengthen the soleus and/or gastrocnemius?

  • why you only showed research about cancer related to eating red meat?? you say that red meat is healthy because of that one topic it is ridiculous, what about cardiovascular system, aging process, so on so on,

  • I have a question about running as a football/soccer player what u do. Like it is better to go on runs of 7km and so or, or better to do these short sprints or high paced 3kilometers or something.
Or is it better to do both?

    Would help a lot!

  • I ate and trained well, but still got Colon Cancer with no symptoms and found by accident as I went in for endoscopy and someone cancelled so they done both. Stage 4 gone through lining and loads of lymph nodes cancerous but just hadn’t masticised. I’m now looking @ 48 about real questions about diet. I’ll admit I’m afraid to go either way. I’m thinking what have I got to lose. I’ll probably go vegan plus fish. I know it’s not vegan but anyone out there do same and any advice much appreciated. Moral is get checked every year. I was never worried BUT I’m worried now for all my family. Mind yourselves. All the best from Ireland

  • It would be a waste for you not to lose body fat while other typical people are capable to lose weight easily with Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • Thx for sharing this. I’ve got a question for you: what is your opinion on a well-planned plant based diet, especially for athletes? What do you think on this approach?

  • I do think you should check out the study and view what foods they tell you to eat and which foods to avoid. I’m not really surprised that you lose weight on this diet, you’re not really eating much of anything. They also tell you to avoid caffeine, sugar, and alcohol, which definitely could have a big impact on the study, but not really something that gets talked about. Additionally I don’t think this diet would be very suitable for people who are very active. Protein is already difficult to get on a vegan diet, and limiting tofu and tempeh and nuts and seeds doesn’t make it any better. Granted I’m not a nutritional expert, just my two cents.

  • As a physicist (i.e. not an expert, but someone who understands and appreciates a scientific approach), and even as a vegan (plenty of people argue strongly one way or the other because it fits their narrative), I thought this was a great video!

  • I love ❤️ meat because most of our prophets eat meat and they don’t have no problem but now this meat is poisonous ☠️ but if it’s organic I guest it’s good for us but I will change plan base for 6 months to check how my body change god willing

  • This is great! I’d love to know more about micronutrients and if that is something you should be actively thinking about to become a better athlete in a future video!

  • I have gone vegan during lockdown, since three months, lost 10 kg weight, less bp,,less medication better breath.. feeling better and great.

  • i wanna point out a huge pasta cooking method myth, adding oil to ur water does not make it so ur pasta wont stick together, where is the oil? its on top and the pasta is in the water beneath the oil. in culinary school we were taught to cook off the pasta then cool in running cold water then toss the pasta in oil to prevent sticking together and then reheat the pasta in a boiling hot water bath then plate. see the oil is used to prevent pasta from sticking however not while the pasta is cooking. the myth here comes from someone asking what the oil was for and a chef and or cook simply stated to keep the pasta from clumping, no further questions were asked as to how that worked. So now there is a huge belief that oil in water with pasta keeps it from clumping. this is false

  • Just want to point that iodine does not last long if it is open to the air so it is very short time salt contain it so when one buy it the iodine from the salt is already gone…and just want to highlite I am vegetarian

  • So glad to find you guys again. Come on everybody. Leave that other channel and subscribe here and give these guys lots of views. Lets give Mike and Tristan more views and subs than they ever got at that other channel

  • Gentlemen, excellent content. I do find myself wondering, are going for a 1970’s vibe for the Chanel? I only ask because that’s what your music give a tone to the Chanel…..✊✊✊‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

  • YasSsss! Best thing I’ve seen this year is you two making these types of videos againlove these little fun factual vid clips! This made my morning!! Keep ‘em coming!

  • Cite your sources!!!!!!! It’s the only thing wrong w this channel. If I try to cite this to my friends and family, it’s kind of just “from the internet.” Not a good source. I WILL leave them a message ‘cause besides this, they are great!

  • Just want to point that iodine does not last long if it is open to the air so it is very short time salt contain it so when one buy it the iodine from the salt is already gone…and just want to highlite I am vegetarian

  • Dude don’t tell people gluten free diets for non-intolerant people are hype, those lemmings create a larger customer base and therefore encourage the existence of a larger variety of options for people like me.

  • Amazing video thank you a lot you have helped my game so much and have helped me a lot regarding my nutrition, you are such a legend. All the best for the future

  • Not all foods should be eaten raw. Some, like some types of beans, are actually more nutritious with cooking because it breaks down some of the structures within the food that digestion alone normally can’t.

  • I really love how I find that I’m struggling with something one week and the next thing I know I see you’ve posted a video addressing the exact thing that’s troubling me. I absolutely love your content and advice!

  • I have been studying these things for years with science journals, etc. The first two, though not completely wrong or right have some holes in the explanations. Couldn’t even finish the video.

  • Very important thing…….does running long distances help increase stamina? Like 7.5 km nonstop….or should you work on explosive or speed drills???? Pls reply soon ive been doing this for weeks now…running 7.5 km nonstop

  • Don’t eat carrots raw though if you eat them for vitamin A supply. Because you can only get that when the cells are destroyed, which happens during cooking.

  • The first time I ever heard about turkey making you tired was during an episode of a show I think it was Mythbusters but I can’t say for sure anymore where they debunked it.

  • i dont doubt a plant based diet is v beneficial but it cannot replace an EPIPEN???? like, really? You must not need an epipen if you can just get rid of fatal allergic reaction

  • Interesting. I find I get hungry very fast after eating potatoes, no matter how many I’ve had. Brown rice is more sustaining for me. We’re all different.

  • Michael, Tristan, please check out the benefits of the keto lifestyle. Big organizations have been lying to us. Watch Dr. Ekberg or Steve, from Serious Keto. Watch FATHEAD, or THAT SUGAR FILM, and be ready to be appalled. After three months I’m completely off all my T2 diabetes meds. So many people watch you. Teach them the truth.

  • Introducing estrogenic foods into the diet can cause men to experience a loss of sexual desire. Specifically, soy is linked to hypoganadism or the reduction in the size of the testes and even erectile dysfunction. These issues can normalize after soy consumption is reduced or stopped. But you do you.

  • i drink a lot of sports drinks but i always get the sugar free and calorie free version, i like them better than the regular ones, they’re not as sweet

  • He talks a lot about it being “the most compelling data ever published in this field”.
The first line of the BROAD study he’s referencing says:
“There is little randomised evidence using a whole food plant-based diet as intervention for elevated BMI”…
So yeah, it would be the most compelling data, as it’s pretty much the ONLY data.
This study shows that wholefoods are better than whatever diet the ill and obese people were eating that made them ill and obese in the first place where was the group on the wholefoods omnivore diet (they wouldn’t have needed the B12 supps that were taken by the group in this study)? DHA, EPA, Choline, D3, B12, Retinol, Collagen…. all nutrients that don’t exist in plants in forms that our bodies can utilise
Our common ancestors ate meat, chimps and gorillas still eat meat, the human gut has moved a long way in 2 million years, we’re different to other primate gut structures now. Chimps and gorillas practise coprophagy (look it up, but don’t click on the images…) in order to extract enough nutrition from the food they eat.
Maybe that’s why we left them in the trees?

  • Great list guys! I already knew all of these (I’m a big time foodie) but it’s good to let people know these things, it’s amazing how many still believe these myths.

  • Mostly plant based for the last few months. Still have dairy (cheese and homemade yogurt) and the occasional piece of fish. With all the options available, it’s not difficult.

  • Do natural popular weight loss method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I’ve noticed several amazing things about this popular weight loss secrets.

  • Amazing! Plant based diet cured me. I started because I love my pets and can’t contribute to animal cruelty. Best decision ever made in life.

  • It would be a waste for you not to shed fat while other typical people are capable to shed extra pounds very easily using Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • Nice video! You talk briefly about protein powder at the end, could you make a video where you go more in depth about what to look out for?

  • There is no such thing as gluten intolerant there is only celiac disease. It is contraindicated medically for those without celiac disease to eat a low-gluten diet. Dr. Elizabeth MD Ph.D Ph.D

  • 11:33 “mediterranean diet is about carbs”……lie!. i’m mediterranean. the main product in spain always has been rabbit. period.

  • Eggs, red meat, and dairy are bad one day and good the next. It all depends on how much money is given to put out “bad” reports. Everything in moderation people! Btw, I make my own electrolyte drink

  • Some people do break out because they are sensitive to the product. I’m allergic to dairy, and it causes me to break out. My mom break outs when eating peanut butter.

  • Dialysis patient…so low phos and potassium is a must, so kinda finding it hard…feel like overeating alot but I cant have to much of the beans oats an mostly zero potatoes

I do get iron less often tho than the meat eater patients though which is interesting

  • I’ve got the complete opposite story, was eating a plant based diet and switched to less plants and more meat everything improved. We’re all different I guess

  • I happened upon your videos because I have recently been transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle. I love your videos and the way you talk. I thought it was cute how you used the words “deposits” and “trapped wind.” I am so blunt that I can’t even imagine being that polite with my words. Anyway, I am subscribing right now.

  • I have a question about running as a football/soccer player what u do. Like it is better to go on runs of 7km and so or, or better to do these short sprints or high paced 3kilometers or something.
Or is it better to do both?

    Would help a lot!

  • People are reversing heart disease on plant based and animal based eating by following the Randall cycle and cutting out processed oil, sugar and grains.

  • so he understands how to eat healthy he should stick to that topic, because hes a complete idiot when it comes to climate change… holy shit that was almost embarrassing to listen to…

  • This is great! I’d love to know more about micronutrients and if that is something you should be actively thinking about to become a better athlete in a future video!

  • I don’t understand how he can stand there and say veganism is sooo healthy when I got so sick from it! I mean how can he stand there and spew propaganda when people are getting sick and only surviving on supplements!

  • I change my diet to plants base diet a week ago No more allergies, no more feeling exhausted, Insomnia, constipation, stress.
No more pills or Nasal spray
I feel amazing. full of energy,Happy, relax.

  • Thus guys doesn’t know anything about ethics to start with. I could bury him with out showing any studies. Wow, and he calls himself a Dr.

  • I taken care of the tiny spots of Herpes applying this Herpes guide 4HerpesCure.Com. The outcomes had been wonderful so I made a decision to further use the treatment method in the face. It reduced my outbreaks and just makes my skin feel so much more healthful…

  • I don’t eat starchy carbs including potatoes of any kind and other root vegs, or corn. I don’t eat sweets, lost my sweet tooth 25 years ago. But after eating turkey, not necessarily at just at holiday spreads, I do get sleepy. Before we went into pandemic isolation, I would buy turkey legs/thigs every week, roast them, and snack on them before bed and I could fall instantly asleep.

  • Dairy gives me acne. I think it’s the protein or natural sugar in it not the fat because butter isn’t a problem. But basically I shouldn’t have dairy. Your gas bloating flatulence was probably lactose intolerance no?

  • The B12 that our gut microbiome create is below the barrier in which it is bio-available in the body. Most of the B12 goes down the toilet. Many animal species get their B12 by eating their sh**.

  • As a believer I turn Vegan 4 & half years ago I did for purification body but hey I found this wonderful piece of truth that Veganism is in reality a Divine Design as written in Sacred Scripture in the book of Genesis “Nothing of Blood must be Eaten “,today is a Joyful Existence.

  • I love you guys, but you were wrong about one thing. All veggies are not better for you when eaten raw. Some, like tomatoes (yeah, I know it’s technically a fruit), asparagus and carrots are better for you when cooked, because cooking increases antioxidants in them, among other things.

  • Never seen so many fallacies in a single presentation….. I agree with everything he said in the beginning before talking about nutrition though sadly it applies to veganism too

  • 1 to 2 per 100,000 still means a lot of people when extrapolating to an entire population. Also, this particular study can’t establish causal link because it’s an observational study however plant based diets are the only diet that has been proven in clinical trials to reverse heart disease and stroke in the dean ornish studies. No other diet has done this in a clinical setting so taking observational studies and clinical studies together you can determine that healthy plant based diets reduce risk of cardiovascular events. The dean ornish studies in particular were a no oil whole foods plant based study and took participants that were already on death’s door from multiple heart attacks in the past. Almost every participant that adhered to the diet didn’t have another heart attack and 60% of those who didn’t adhere to the diet did.

You need to take all the evidence as a whole, you can dismiss any one single study but when you look at all of them as a whole you can’t deny that plant based diets save lives.

  • Amazing video thank you a lot you have helped my game so much and have helped me a lot regarding my nutrition, you are such a legend. All the best for the future

  • I’m not denying anything but it’s widely agreed the nuremburg trials was a kangaroo court where suspects were visibly injured, & family members threatened. I just had to put that out there, I work in law and the nuremburg trails today would be illegal

  • Hello I’ve been looking for videos about acceleration with the ball and since I didn’t anything interesting I think it would be nice from you to make one. Like: “the most efficient ways to accelerate with the ball”

  • Fat makes you thin..meat makes you thin yes! It’s called keto and it works. Please do more research and see testimonies of us who have overcome hbp and weightloss.

  • the image on the right at 13 minutes and 40 seconds is from dr. Caldwell esselstyn’s book prevent and reverse heart disease. one of his colleagues at the Cleveland clinic was stricken with a widow-maker heart attack at 45 years old. that is a picture of his healed artery do to a plant-based diet 3 years later. dr. esselstyn personally saved that guy. those of you who are on keto need to understand that outward appearance doesn’t mean anything, it really comes down to your cardiovascular health. I wanted to throw dr. esselstyn name into the mix because his scientific research in the mid 1980 was pivotal in the knowledge of plant-based diets for atherosclerosis and diabetes.

  • TED is afraid of Youtube rejection and criticism therefore putting himself on the fence as not taking sides, although the scientific evidence speaks for itself. Not just being a Greger fan, I have tried and tested the Plant Based lifestyle like thousands of others and can only speak highly of the ONE AND ONLY remedy that can heal almost all the diseases in the world, of which the Keto and Palio (Atkins) diets can make no claim at all.

  • so he understands how to eat healthy he should stick to that topic, because hes a complete idiot when it comes to climate change… holy shit that was almost embarrassing to listen to…

  • Fat makes you thin..meat makes you thin yes! It’s called keto and it works. Please do more research and see testimonies of us who have overcome hbp and weightloss.

  • My understanding when it comes to beans, lentils, grains…they are dormant foods and contain phetic acid. Not the best thing to consume when your fighting a disease. Best to sprout them then eat.

  • Hey Matt! How do you track your progress on areas like Dribbling or Passing when you are doing individual training? I know it’s not related that much to the topic but I’m doing some work on my own and I’m not sure I’m improving. Like so Matt can see it if you are looking for an answer ❤️⚽

  • Use your body as a test subject, been vegan for two months, can breath through my nose, can sleep, great sleep. Clear headed, tons of energy. Feel amazing all day,,,, thanks for video!

  • BAD news-GOOD news,,,,THE BAD,, electrolytes CONDUCT electricity,,not CREATE electricity,,,,,Some foods, like corn, NEEDS to be cooked to release ALL their nutritional value,,,,MEAT is 35% more NUTRITIOUS when cooked..(I watch A LOT of cooking & science shows)THE GOOD,,,,I like you guys and support your new endeavors,,,AND,, today, because you TRY SOOO HARD,,,it’s FREE PASS DAY!!!!! A little science,,A little food related content would be a NICE addition to your channel,,Keep up the GREAT WORK!!! It WILL PAY OFF!!!

  • Is there one of these about corporal punishment? I’ve heard people say that it’s associated with increased aggression, but I haven’t seen something like a big meta-analysis or better yet a nice little video.

  • The benefit of the doubt is wasted. To use his profession as a high ground, with his religious belief used to prove his cherrypicking science to prove such a false fact, and to let people be tricked by his belief, is the same exact same situation why we have the vegan trend too. It’s a scandale his morale teachings can harm so many people. Why you never trust a Doctor by his status alone. Get a second opinion. Our biochemestry, our biology, our evolution designed modern man to eat meat. It’s the most optimal diet for getting the most nuteitious you Can possibly obtain.

  • He’s being a little disingenuous. If you want results in weight and health most people will need to calorie restrict on a whole food plant based diet. My first couple weeks on and I gained weight even though I was already over 300 pounds. Maybe just watch the salt you add and go a little easy on the avocados and nuts.

  • The US Government advertises the products that they grow, no matter what they are. The meat/ dairy industry is included and therefore that how they draw up that famous chart.

  • vegetarian diet gave me psoriasis. The carbohydrates I had eaten gave me insulin resistance and all complications that derive from it. Now on Keto I got rid of all ailments. I’m not saying to eat meat but dairy, seafood and eggs are a must. Veganism is a diet of deficiency so one must take a lot of supplements that shows that is not beneficial for humans. I need no supplements on Keto and that says it all. It also lacks bio availability and the right amounts of: 1) Pre-formed Omega-3 Fatty Acids DHA and EPA

    2) Vitamin B12

    3) Vitamin D3

    4) Vitamin A/Retinol

    5) Zinc

    6) Choline

    7) Calcium

    8) Iron

    9) Iodine

    10) Selenium

    11) Cholesterol

    12) Carnitine

    13) Carnosine

    14) Glycine

    15) Amino Acids

    16) Creatine

    18) Vitamin B6/Pyridoxine

    19) Vitamin B2/Riboflavin

    20) Vitamin B3/Niacin

  • At 10:00 I really appreciate how he nonchalantly says all the biological processes that our body does as if it’s no big deal, but it’s so cool! And it’s amazing that there’s so much research into this type of diet and I never knew. I honestly thought it was another one of those “fad” diets.

  • Thank you Dr Greger. Obviously, TedX powers that be, do not understand your lives work has been to bring evidence based nutritional advice to the masses. You ensure the most up to date research is cited and provide the references. Keep doing what you do Dr Greger.

  • I had s heart attack several months and my cholesterol level was off the charts. After coming home from the hospital. I change my diet to plant base. I also walk about three miles a day. Keep your meals simple.

  • can someone give me the article name or the doi of the study mentioned at 12:48? that’s insane! I’m quite shocked and would love to read the entirety of that study

  • You have to be careful with statistics. I believe there is a reason however, that my doctor has an intestinal cancer graphic on his wall.

  • Vegan for 3 years and was very interested in your video…until you went on the global warming rant and compared that to a holocaust denier…turned off the video.

  • We have been plant based for 3 yrs and still feeling healthier each year. We also do a lot of crossfit style workouts and recovery is better on plant based.

  • So although Dr. Dean Ornish PROVED that a whole food plant based diet reverses heart disease, in trials completed decades ago, apparently that doesn’t qualify for “sufficient scientific evidence” by TEDx standards.

  • So question I have is if you ate meat all your life then switch to vegan would you not when you reach I’m your senior years not have vitamin deficiency and protein and not have osteoporosis?

  • His speaking style is so affected I can barely stand to listen to it, which is a shame cause I’m vegan and interested in this stuff.

  • Then why have a majority of Vegans quit going vegan, because it was killing them? Why have most people gotten horribly sick in 3-5 years on a vegan diet and quit? Dr. Greger is a joke.
The reason you lose weight on a vegan diet is becasue you’re not only being malnourished, but having nutrients leached from your body, by anti-nutrients.

Once you stop losing weight, it’s because your body has finished consuming all of your energy stores. Next it begins eating muscle tissue, and eventually your organs, until the only thing left for your brain to eat is itself.

  • One month one the plant based diet, lost 5kg, toned up a lot, improved my 5k running time yesterday by 1 minute despite not training for 3 whole weeks and have clearer skin than ever… I’ve also noticed a change in taste buds, am eating waaaaay more vegetables and have a new found love for coconuts and mango… love the plant based diet

  • Thank you, I feel like I definitely eat way more when using salt and sugar. I’m going to start eating more of the filling foods you spoke about and see if i do better this next week

  • You guys are so awesome. Cool shirts. I’d probably watch anything you guys did. The nap was just this side of interesting, somehow.

  • excellent video and info. love his delivery too hehe. what im left curious about is if (ethics aside) the optimal diet would/could consist of whole foods, mostly plants, with occasional consumption of the highest quality animal products, such as fish and eggs perhaps. thinking out loud, but it would stand to reason, by Dr. Greger’s own wording, that since 90% of our evolutionary past consists of mostly plants, that the optimal diet would/could likewise be mostly plants. some more food for thought i suppose:)

  • I went vegan in December and since then I have zero protein left, I can’t believe I mustered the energy to write this comment. Honestly, I may be dead soon (sarcasm).

  • Any particular reason why I’m not allowed to add subtitles to this videos, @TEDx Talks? Not everyone speaks English. Please help us show these informative videos to our non-English speaking relatives by allowing us to add subtitles.

Cheers.

  • Animals run away and yell for help when you kill it. Plants and fruits stay in one place so that we may nourish ourselves. There is negative energy in meat. Positive energy in plants and fruits.

  • I’m 1 minute into the video and I’m not sure I can make it another minute let alone to the end. But I really want to know what he has to say. If he could do it in a way that didn’t sound like he slammed a bottle of tequila right before going on stage, it would be much easier to watch.

  • I only came here to see if this man could man could respond my wonder…but I haven’t accomplished yet. Is it possible to maintain a proper wellness by erasing all products from animals or not?

  • How old do you think this guy is, let’s take a guess… 60? 70? Nope, was 46 years old here. Long term plant based diet makes you age faster

  • In case it’s not clear what’s going on yet; this is a seriously deteriorated creature who is (by G-a te’s funding) pushing the Vegan agenda to the already starved population. What strikes me is that it’s the most intelligent folk like our scientist who fall for this trap.

  • This guy is a big mouth. He is right about the stats but his conclusion is not. He would have said the same things about smoking. Stats are always easy to pick apart. You just have to use common sense. Plant based foods will provide fibre and a range of nutrients meat does not.aAlso meat consumption is excessive and very often contaminated with antibiotics used as growth hormones, faecal contamination of intensive farming and slaughtering. Apart from the damage to the environment and humans affected by eg COVID 19 in abattoirs the chronic effect on health does not appear to worry this chap. You wonder whose paying him to act like this.

  • Struggled with chronic fatigue for years. Went to so many doctors before trying a plant based diet and am totally converted now. Been plant based for 6-months and I’ve never felt better.

  • Disclaimer don’t listen to this guy, plant based diet will kill you, here’s a 50% discount coupon and go to kfc and enjoy your life

  • I’m not denying anything but it’s widely agreed the nuremburg trials was a kangaroo court where suspects were visibly injured, & family members threatened. I just had to put that out there, I work in law and the nuremburg trails today would be illegal

  • He should have worked in announcing fights, not in medical science. His voice and intonations both annoy me yet i keep going back to it.
