  • I remember when I found Dr Souto while watching some YouTube videos back 2019, It literally changed my life! We don’t have much content in Portuguese regarding LowCarb/keto, we are lucky to have him… I highly recommend to all people who speak Portuguese to listen to his podcast (Tribo Forte) and also to read his blog (www.lowcarb-paleo.com.br) He’s already a myth here in Brazil! I hope to see him more often participating at those events!

  • I’m confused So if you go over on your protein is an on demand protein So will not kick you out of ketosis So I want to have boiled eggs or have eggs in the morning I do not have to worry about throwing out the whites? By the way thank you for all the Content you’ve been a lot of help

  • Can you do a video on hitting macros vs staying within your calories? Like is it more important to hit your macros daily or stay within your calories?

  • Dear O Dear!!! this person is dangerous and really is misleading, the information he is presenting is bias at best, it`s the KETO train here misleading if you want to know the truth please look up Dr Mcdougall not Dr ATKINS becouse Died of heart disease he was obese sick heart disease is what killed him…

  • Starting my 3rd day of Keto, 3lbs down when I woke up this morning………….. feeling more alert already, slightly fatigued, not too bad.

  • If you want to know how to get fat, ask any livestock farmer, they figured it out a long time ago. That’s why they FINISH livestock on grains, because it fattens them up to market weight faster. Grain finishing cattle with some supplemental fats packs the weight right on. Grain finishing turkeys with supplemental margarine packs the weight right on too, And grain finishing hogs with supplemental soured dairy does the same thing as well. Secret ingredient isn’t fat, it’s grains with high carbs.

  • I’m pretty fit and have a bunch of muscle but I hit 30 and I felt a lil bit of fat coming on. I’ve been in Keto for 1 month I’ve lost 20 pounds. I’m surprised because it’s not like I was even overweight, picture a wrestler. But this has literally just shredded only fat from my body, zero muscle! Wow

  • I loved the videos but actually, the body is not able to create its own Carbohydrates, this type of molecules are exclusive from the plant kingdom, the gluconeogenesis process allows the body to create its own sugars if you will., which is not the same of “its own carbohydrates”, now don’t get me wrong, I do myself the keto diet and made all my family jump into it, but people can get confused when hearing something like that.

  • this was a really cool video. thank you. i’d read some of these papers but had no idea they were being percolated out to the public. wonderful forum, great summary.

  • Good video because it does not have obnoxious background music and background noise. The video also has a good subject and content.

  • Carnivore, Keto, Vegan diets are not natural diets for human beings. Diets that exclude major food groups are not healthy. None of the longest lived populations in the world eat any of these fad diets. Staying away from processed foods, restaurant and or fast foods and not using oils which are processed with additives go a long way to good health. Keeping processed sugar as low as possible and not eating processed carbs, eating whole foods. All of you many intelligent people think for yourselves and common sense will show you the way. Fad diets have become a cottage industry.

  • Yes, he identified a new syndrome connected to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome..
Evidence resistance and illogic-thought syndrome, (also connected to alternative facts and alternative reality syndrome that is now in epidemic proportions) Perhaps the USDA dietary guidelines represent the origins of alternative facts and alternative reality syndrome?

  • Please do an inflammation for idiots video. I’ve watched lots of your videos and I’m still totally lost when it comes to inflammation

  • The $$$ to be made by keeping the public sick and increasing profits for big Pharma is all important to the conventional western medical system. Doctors become little more than legalized drug pushers pocketing the kickbacks for their own profit. I am angry at being duped like everyone else for decades. High carb diet has cost me my gallbladder, caused acid reflux and diverticulosis a lifetime of feeling unwell and money wasted on atorvastatin ‘treatments’ with lingering muscle pain even 4 years after kicking them to the curb. When I told my own dr. in 2016 why I was going off them she said ‘we are aware of the new studies but the Canadian Heart Association hasn’t changed stance on treatment ‘ and walked out like her nose was out of joint. My understanding is that this info on high carb diets has been known conclusively since 2006. Thank you Dr Souto for helping spread the word and backing it up with the studies to drive it home.

  • Butter is the queen at my breakfast table. I eat fish three times a week. People should stop galping sugars. Diet cokes, cherry cokes, classic coca cola, sprite, 7 up, orange juice, apple juice, red bull, snaple, Arizona iced tea, caramel latte, peach nectar, guava nectar. These are all garbage drinks. Best to drink only water.

  • the best channel for losing weight if LOSE WEIGHT HUB…i advise finding in the search…they posted a new video every day!!!..all very useful…good and serious content…. https://youtu.be/CQHCCgUfQg4?list=PLflNYeIGCmztEtURlNX5pETMOiy0IbTr3

  • I was on methotrexate for my RA and gout. What did I do to get off methotrexate for my RA and gout, I ate ONLY read meat and sardines for a month, then was off methotrexate in 2 weeks. That was over a year and a half ago, no symptoms and no drugs needed.

  • I am cautiously optimistic about mainstream nutrition after seeing this presentation. I have been praying for an awakening in the medical mainstream about metabolic syndrome and diabetes. I just hope the news travels fast for the sake of all the people on the fast-track to life threatening illness and disease who think they are eating healthy on the high carb diets.

  • Clean food IS RARE in the United states. Dr Berg said that the soil her are so comprised. So what do we do about it? I’m not spending 40 dollars on a grass-fed meat. It’s not fair that people without diabetes don’t have to litterally hunt for their food and and people with diabetes have to scavenger hunt for to live. So my question is how do we get good quality for without hunting or breaking the bank?

  • Natural herbs have cured so many illness that drugs and injection can’t cure. I’ve seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people’s lives. i read people’s testimonies online on how they were cured of HERPES, HIV, diabetics etc by Dr Agbonifo herbal medicine, I contacted the doctor because i know nature has the power to heal. I was diagnosed with HSV but I have been completely cured after using Dr Agbonifo Herbal Medicine.

  • Is it a good idea to take BHB while doing a keto diet? Possibly you already have a video on this topic? I am fairly new to this and have watched many of your videos…thank you for all the great info!

  • The myth for me is about the grains and beans being healthy and how much you need those in your diet, it’s been an eye-opening experience to be a code red rebel!

  • I so believe this! When I first started as a Code Red rebel I felt lethargic and had a dull headache for a few days. Now, I feel energized and ready to take on each day. I am amazed at how good my body feels and how the weight to steadily coming off! Thank you Cristy and Code Red!

  • Hey! Watch this video it will save your life…18k Views…..Oh Hey! Look, Beyonce shaking her ass 130 million views….‍♂️‍♂️

  • Nice video. It’s funny how some people hate on a macronutrient. A few years ago fat was the most horrible thing you could eat, now it’s carbs. Is protein next?

  • Yes, he identified a new syndrome connected to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome..

  • Love CARBS, one time I tried to go without carbs for 30 days…AND the result was not good… I could barely hear from one ear lol

  • Thank you for the calorie explanation!! After a lot of trial and error with CICO, Keto, or both at once, my conclusion is: for weight loss the most important factor is calorie restriction. For how you feel as you’re losing weight; your cravings, mental health, sleep quality, muscle mass, inflammation, ect., nutrition and proper macro ratios are key. I can add about 100-200 calories to my RDI if my food choices are Keto, but if I stop counting calories altogether I’ll be lucky to maintain, much less lose fat.

  • Does this mean I can do 50% protein? Is there still a protein limit or ratios I need to follow (calorie deficit naturally)??? @Thomas Deleur

  • Carnivore, Keto, Vegan diets are not natural diets for human beings. Diets that exclude major food groups are not healthy. • Butcher box says non gmo vegetables feed etc. From what I understand there is no non gmo corn anymore. Even organic that has been tested has shown gmo. Do you know what exactly there extra feed is? Is there corn that supposed non gmo?

  • Carbs are unessential, unlike essential amino acids (protein) and essential fatty acids (fat). Listen to the experts like Lustig, Harcombe, Mason, etc. They are available on channels like ‘Low Carb Downunder’ and keto/carnivore circles. Peace. ✌

  • I’ve been at a Keto diet for almost 3 weeks now and before starting I was worried about what it would do to my performance as a competitive cyclist. I’ve been taking it slow to kind of ease my way in, but last night I completed a 50 minute tempo ride where my average heart rate posted at 160bpm and my watts per kilogram posted just under what I would normally do in a race. I was really impressed because all I’m reading is how little energy I was going to have on a low carb diet. All I’m seeing is how performance is directly related to the amount of carbs that you can consume. Personally the low energy and lack of performance is also a myth.

  • Actually energy conservation is the First law of thermodynamics, not the second.

The second is about matters preference to be randomized, not ordered: entropy.

  • it sure as fuck helps me. i have kept track daily at work. i lift?? 40 thousand pounds a day?

i am a piece of shit if i dont eat carbs. like half speed on any day i miss them.

i assure you job is a sport lol

  • I really wanna do keto, but I don’t have enough willpower to say no to fruit for the rest of my life (or at least the foreseeable future)

  • Keto to lose disgusting and debilitating FAT and Dr. Morse’s Highly Alkaline diet to cure essentially every “disease” known to Man from all the built up toxins and clogged up lymphatic system over the years.

That’s all I have to say.

  • Nice video. It’s funny how some people hate on a macronutrient. A few years ago fat was the most horrible thing you could eat, now it’s carbs. Is protein next?

  • Wrong approach and undermines other valid methods, you cannot denegrate all carbs just because of the junk food epidemic. Dietary fats are just as responsible as refined carbs in etiology of diabetes. Dietary fat intake in USA is 35-43% today. In Japan prior to diabetes explosion fat intake was <20% cal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcHHDmuyPv4

  • Been low carb or keto or carnivore (rotates) for the past year. Still have occasional cravings for little Debbie snacks and doughnuts as I found out today at Target. The ENTIRE entry display was 100% Junk food. For real. It was so disheartening and disappointing.

  • Has anyone found information on the topic of the effect of keto and fasting on the pancreas? I have severe pancreatitis and a mass removed. You can be sure the doctors and nutritionists recommend the opposite. I still need to lose 35 pounds or more. There is a study supporting the potential of rebuilding beta cells through FMD, but this is more of a diabetes issue which i have already conquered through diet and fasting just not keto. Another thing Thomas talks about is not taking antioxidants during fasting, however i like taking NAC which has great potential benefits especially since i have fatty liver. I do OMAD regularly, throw in 36 hr fasts a few times a month, and recently did a 7 day water fast losing 14 lbs. I was still working and doing light stuff at the gym. Maybe i dont need the keto diet, since based on ketone strips i was through the roof on the fast and it continued for the week after.

  • Been watching your videos taken your advice on Keto what to eat what not to eat and I’ve lost 7 pounds the 1st week. now on week 2

  • 1st 4mins are excellent then goes off the rails… the end suggests all carbs are problematic and increase risk of diabetes, which is at odds with the biochemistry described in the 1st 4 mins. maybe this wasn’t intended but not reiterating the distinction btw refined sugar and complex carbs when discussing disease risk was a major miss IMO

  • Soory but carbs have always been around, the increase around the world are animal fats. These fats hurt your circulatory system and block insulin being absorbed by the cell, and the body cannot recognize that so it just keeps making insulin.

  • Hello. I’m new to your channel and new to keto, so forgive my ignorance, but I’m not sure what you mean by “inflammation.” I’ve heard you mention it in other videos and while I have a general understanding of what inflammation is, I don’t understand it yet in the context of ketosis. I would really appreciate clarification there or even a link to a video that goes into detail. Thanks!

  • My LDL levels are now almost 300 and HDL are about 220. I have been doing KETO for 6 months. Should I be concerned? I didn’t have levels like this before and my Dr. wants me to go on statins, which I don’t want to do. Opinion?

  • The hardest thing for me to wrap my head around when starting Code Red was that is is okay/good to eat the healthy fats. We’ve been fed the information about Fat-Free for so long (most of my life) that it felt weird to make sure to plan for fats in my meals. Letting go of the breads (those ‘healthy’ whole-grain, wheat, sprouted, etc breads) was difficult, not to mention the sweets that I am so addicted to, but I was amazed at how quickly the inflammation and therefore the joint pain! left my body… THANK YOU, Cristy for all the information you share!

  • thank you Thomas,, i am 7 weeks into keto and youve helped me change my life,,.. i see abs, vascular muscle and feel great at 38…. i tell everyone i know watching my change to subscribe to you to get started.

  • I am cautiously optimistic about mainstream nutrition after seeing this presentation. I have been praying for an awakening in the medical mainstream about metabolic syndrome and diabetes. • All the Blue Zone Diets in the world are high carb (65% of nutrition derived from carbs). They are also 95% plant based.

  • Starting my 3rd day of Keto, 3lbs down when I woke up this morning………….. feeling more alert already, slightly fatigued, not too bad.

  • Thus doesn’t make sense to me, why do the goods that lack fiber make it harder to pass a stool, but u saying they easier to digest.???

  • Consuming fruits and vegetables correlate with positive renal outcomes as well, meaning that healthy carbs are good. I’m not sure how you can watch this presentation and conclude that keto or carnivore is in your health’s best interest.

  • So being vegetarian is not good like it had medium glycemic index than non vegetarian food?
Can someone please tell me if I should eat vegetables and fruits or egg and meat.
    How much one should consume?

  • kind of sad to see the misdirection…..is a high carb diet oreos and beer or whole food plants. If you compare anything to a donut it is going to look good. Try comparing it to a nutritional salad (not a taco salad) which is mostly carbs and then lets talk. That is how I eat, whole food plants and I do just fine and I went from stage 3 kidney failure to no kidney disease at all. Any studies of a low carb diet curing kidney disease or heart disease? When you have that I will start believing.

  • actually… fruit also have fast-used sugar, fructose for having other ways to get into glycolysis. brifely it isn’t controled by main regulation enzyme, PFK, while absorbing and turning into pyruvate. of course it will be better choose rather than soda or etc. you should consider about it, if you went on a diet.

  • Consuming fruits and vegetables correlate with positive renal outcomes as well, meaning that healthy carbs are good. I’m not sure how you can watch this presentation and conclude that keto or carnivore is in your health’s best interest.

  • keeping people addicted to carbs and giving them medicines to correct the problems they cause are massive money makers…everyone from farmers to the american diabetic association has a vested interest in keeping us addicted. i freed myself from carb addiction 2 months ago….i feel 100% better and have blood work to prove its working.

  • So thomas im very fan of your channel, my question is what % of macros has to be the ideal for this diet?
What amount of protein is enough to stay in ketosis
Thanks for all u do for us

  • Good video; but even after the video explains greatly about simple, medium carbs it fails in the end saying carbs is bad. Refined carbs are bad; thats all.. in 1sec video turned into a poisonous idea.

  • I am not really arguing, but I have definitely noticed that i can eat a lot more calories on low carb, then low fat and still lose wait. Not saying you can eat as much as you want, but definitely more. So at least he acknowledges that.

  • WHAT A WHOLE LOAD OF BS! Humans produce AMYLASE in their saliva which catalyzes carbohydrates/starch both simple and complex beginning the digestive process already in the mouth. What you need to understand is that there is a HUGE difference between natural wholefood carbs and REFINED/PROCESSED CARBS.

  • The keto diet is not for everybody Dwayne The Rock Johnson eats a dozen pancakes who is cheat meals every single week but works out every single day Dwayne The Rock Johnson does you being fine have you seen his meal plan of what he eats carbohydrates and sugar and works out like a machine Watchers meal plan

  • Carbs are not “essential” and high consumption displaces necessary nutrients. “Essential” means that a certain food is absolutely required by the body (like gasoline or diesel in a car), is not manufactured by the body, and so must be consumed in the diet.
Have you ever heard of an “essential fatty acid”? (EFA)? Some types of fats — Omega 6′s and Omega 3′s — are absolutely required by the body.
Have you heard of “essential amino acids”? Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. There are 8 amino acids that are “essential.” Without them, muscles, hormones and the heart (a muscle) cease to function properly. Muscles have a high protein requirement.
Have you ever heard of an “essential carbohydrate”? I hope not, because there’s no such thing!
Of the three calorie containing molecules — proteins, fats and carbohydrates — only certain fats and proteins are “essential.” When the diet is high in carbohydrates, it is often deficient in the necessary essential fats and proteins. Deficiencies of essential fats and proteins causes all manner of diseases, from mood disorders (neurotransmitters are made from essential fats and proteins) to muscle weakness (muscles have a high protein requirement), hormone imbalances, heart disease and premature aging.

  • Hi Tam
Would you recommend the keto diet for someone looking to put themselves in a slight caloric surplus and build lean mass?
I’m working hard to reduce my bodyfat from 15% downward. It’s the leanest I’ve ever been and don’t want to sabotage my results once I achieve them. I’d rather just plan ahead.
Thanks for all the great content

  • But damn dude, Butcher Box comes out to $181 after the 20 dollar discount for your first order so that’s (REGULARLY) $200 for only like… 2 to 3 weeks of Grass Fed/Wild-Caught meats! (especially if you’re trying to BUILD MUSCLE) That’s so much! The order I was looking at would only come with 4 lbs. of Salmon, 4 lbs. of Beef, and like 1 lb. of Chicken lol! That’d be like almost $400 A MONTH on food for a single person. Where I live (IN THE U.S.A) the Minimum wage is like $1,200 to $1,400 and like 80% of the Population here lives on that wage, how could these people possibly get healthy on a wage like that? Unless they all lived together as Roommates or with their Families because otherwise there’s no way they could afford things like “Butcher Box” AND their Gas, Electrical, Water, House, Insurance, Vehicle bill etc. at the same time! No wonder everyone is fat and unhealthy! The meat at our grocery stores are super cheap and all most people can afford so most people end up sick… This is so sad. Everyone should have access to this quality of Meat at a Fair Price even if it meant only beinng able to purchase this kind of food 2 out of every 4 trips to the Grocery Stores.

The world’s so twisted bro, like wtf. We’re just going to end up having a majority of the population sick and fat for the entire lives and even if not fat, still sick within thanks to all the Grain Fed Anti Biotic injected meats!

Either the Farms need to start feeding their animals correctly on a massive scale or the wages have to come up at least 3 more dollars per hour more where I live cause right now like I said, in order to be able to afford these meats (at least from Butcher Box) you’d probably have to be splitting the bills with someone to be able to afford their premium healthy meats or you’d have to have a good job that pays more than the Minimum Wage or you’re going to struggle to eat good and be properly Healthy. (as a Human should IMO)

EDIT: OH AND I ALSO FORGOT, that’s nearly $400 a month on MEATS alone, what about everything else we need? Holy shit, there’s like no hope now for anyone with a shitty job. What about the Fats we need like Macadamia Nuts, Macadamia butter, Organic Avocados etc. What about Ghee or Butter? What about the occasional berries, our Organic Eggs, Almond Milk, Freshly ground organic Coffee Beans, $10+ MCT Oil, etc???!!! DAMN LOL In total you’d probably end up spending about $500 A MONTH just on trying to eat the best foods you possibly can and that’s probably not a lot for people who are earning more than $17 an hour but for everyone else wtf? What about People with 2 or 3 KIDS as well who are living on Minimum wage? They are TRULY DOOMED to eat “shit” for the rest of their lives like 80% of the time. Sorry that I went off-topic a bit and rambled based on a simple advertisement you showcased for “Butcher Box” but holy shit dude it’s like you assumed everyone could easily afford that kind of thing. It might be great, the meats might truly be 10/10 but it’s like you sort of forgot or didn’t take into account the REALITY of many people’s financial situations. I’m so glad I can actually afford stuff like this (currently) and that I have no kids right now but I feel bad for the Millions of other Americans (and even people outside of the USA) who could probably never afford this food or only do so once in a “blue moon” It’s truly disheartening to me! You’re extremely fortunate to be able to afford to eat this way ALL THE TIME and still have a nice car, a nice house, etc.

Thanks!

  • I am not really arguing, but I have definitely noticed that i can eat a lot more calories on low carb, then low fat and still lose wait. Not saying you can eat as much as you want, but definitely more. So at least he acknowledges that.

  • I try to watch your videos and often try but I can’t. Your info is good, but to wordy. 11:00 minutes to say what could have been said in 5 or 6 minutes. Great info, but sorry dude the on and on just drives me crazy. Keep up the good work for the people that love all the infinite details.

  • How can i check the information source from TED-Ed videos?
    Can we trust them?
They said these infor from scientist, but who are them?
    https://ed.ted.com/lessons/how-do-carbohydrates-impact-your-health-richard-j-wood
I tried this but can not find the source. Any help?

  • I love this guy!!!!!! Thank u soo much for being smart!..stupidity is ruin the world and taking some Keto-adapted hopefuls with it!

  • Hi there! Great video! I am considering going Keto but I have been told that I shouldn’t as I have had gallbladder removal. Is this true?

  • “For the study, researchers examined National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 8,721 people in the United States between 2009 and 2016 to determine how many adults are at low versus high risk for chronic disease. Data revealed that only 12.2 percent of American adults are metabolically healthy, which means that only 27.3 million adults are meeting recommended targets for cardiovascular risk factors management.”

  • This guy is a snake, Americans eat more meat than any other people on the planet and also more dairy than the vast majority we aren’t carb-centric by any stretch of the freaking imagination.

  • Healthier than ever since going low carb. My cystic acne cleared up since my teen. No belly roll…no food binging love eating low carb. So delicious as well…I mean who cares about those tasteless sandwich bread.

  • Thank you for getting the info about gluconeogenisis out there! Really tired of trying to convince people they actually need protein. So many people are losing their hair, and starving because they are limiting protein, thinking it is somehow equal to cake! Where did this crazy fear of gluconeogenisis start?

  • This is an excellent video explaining to people basically the misunderstanding of sugar for example you don’t need sugar when you about to go to sleep at night why would you eat a bunch of donuts and candy when you about to go to sleep raising your blood sugar for no reason but if you going on a jog trust me you are going to get that feeling of I can’t go any further because your glycogen level has dropped and you’re going to need sugar but you going to need apples and bananas and a little bit of Gatorade maybe some potatoes 2 get your glycogen levels back up.
So the moral of the story is if you’re not working out in the gym and and if you’re not going for that long jog you can cut out a lot of your carbs you can cut them in half and consume more protein. Problem is we are so accustomed to carbs because they come in many forms that we like and your desire for them is basically automatic at breakfast lunch and dinner so you have to discipline yourself and watch out for those bad carbs if you want to lose weight. But if you want to work out in the gym and lift heavy weights you have to have a bunch of carbs to get stronger so you can handle the heavy load that’s required to bench press that heavy weight that you going to lift this is how professional bodybuilders know how to cut back and lose weight easily because they check their diet you got to check your diet first.

  • This guy is a snake, Americans eat more meat than any other people on the planet and also more dairy than the vast majority we aren’t carb-centric by any stretch of the freaking imagination.

  • This was a very good presentation! It was very beneficial for this physician to then explain the way he did. Even the basic lay person can understand the benefits of LCHF.

  • Thank you Dr Souto for this evidence based information to at last expose the Carbohydrate Myth. I found that many health problems went away (along with medication) when I began the Ketogenic diet about 2 years ago. Lost weight and the pain in my body went as well, was being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis also. I’m now doing the “Carnivore” diet (5-6 months) and that is exceptional. Cavemen never ate Carb’s (weren’t manufactured yet) so I thought I’d give it a try and am over the moon with the results. Waiting for the flood of Vegetarians and Vegan comments. Thanks again!!!

  • This does make sense. Dopamine is a powerful hormone and the response we create under stress can be recreated when we feel even a little stress thus causing us to think of certain foods as triggers

  • So thomas im very fan of your channel, my question is what % of macros has to be the ideal for this diet?
What amount of protein is enough to stay in ketosis
Thanks for all u do for us

  • kind of sad to see the misdirection…..is a high carb diet oreos and beer or whole food plants. If you compare anything to a donut it is going to look good. Try comparing it to a nutritional salad (not a taco salad) which is mostly carbs and then lets talk. That is how I eat, whole food plants and I do just fine and I went from stage 3 kidney failure to no kidney disease at all. Any studies of a low carb diet curing kidney disease or heart disease? When you have that I will start believing.

  • Hey! Watch this video it will save your life…18k Views…..Oh Hey! Look, Beyonce shaking her ass 130 million views….‍♂️‍♂️

  • Been low carb or keto or carnivore (rotates) for the past year. Still have occasional cravings for little Debbie snacks and doughnuts as I found out today at Target. The ENTIRE entry display was 100% Junk food. For real. It was so disheartening and disappointing.

  • this was a really cool video. thank you. i’d read some of these papers but had no idea they were being percolated out to the public. wonderful forum, great summary.

  • Low carb for 10 years, TC over 230 LDL over 140 and finally high blood pressure, CV disease, etc. In the long term for me it is not working.

  • As a former collegiate athlete, everything Cristy said was true. From the time I started competing at a high level in Jr High to my 4 year lettering at a division 1 university, I was a fat athlete who was told I just need to work out harder to lose the weight and to carb load. This was my education from coaches that stuck with me for 23 years past my college career. Now at 45, I’m less than 2 months into the Code Red program and have lost almost 37+ lbs. Now a busy mom of 2 young kids, high level professional and I’m getting my water, sleep, and eating high quality food. Life is getting better. Cristyoh why couldn’t you have been around with this message 30 years ago. Thank you for this now, life is improving every day!

  • “I used to think too much protein would kick you out of keto. But new research show…. ” I really respect someone with integrity. Thanks for that.

  • Butcher box says non gmo vegetables feed etc. From what I understand there is no non gmo corn anymore. Even organic that has been tested has shown gmo. Do you know what exactly there extra feed is? Is there corn that supposed non gmo?

  • If you want to know how to get fat, ask any livestock farmer, they figured it out a long time ago. That’s why they FINISH livestock on grains, because it fattens them up to market weight faster. Grain finishing cattle with some supplemental fats packs the weight right on. Grain finishing turkeys with supplemental margarine packs the weight right on too, And grain finishing hogs with supplemental soured dairy does the same thing as well. Secret ingredient isn’t fat, it’s grains with high carbs.

  • A good way to start to lose weight is to start with limiting your sweet drinks like soda and juice. Start off with water.
What is good to do next is to count your calories. Almost everything you consume has calories, so keeping track of it helps you wrap your mind around how much you eat.
The third thing you should do is eat meals slower. This allows your stomach to maintain a smaller size and gets you full quicker.

Doing all of this first is a lot more helpful than going out to exercise and getting burnt out from it because starting with this will give you the energy to exercise. Eating healthy is also good to lose weight, but still track even the healthiest of foods.

This is how I lost 25 lbs in one year (the year mark was actually last week).

  • When calories and protein are equated, irrespective of whether the diet is high fat/low carb, high carb/low fat, fat loss is absolutely identical!

The insulin model of obesity which is pedalled is flawed.

I challenge anyone to try any diet, equate calories and protein, and eat in a deficit from your maintenance. Determining maintenance calories is different for every person, so it will take a week or two of tracking to know what your maintenance is.

The idea of intermittent fasting a keto diet being the holy grail is just stupidity. I challenge anyone to implement intermittent fasting and undertake a keto diet yet eat in a caloric surplus. I can assure you… you will gain weight!

There is nothing wrong with any diet… on the condition that adherence isn’t a problem.

    Calories calories calories calories calories!

  • I was on methotrexate for my RA and gout. What did I do to get off methotrexate for my RA and gout, I ate ONLY read meat and sardines for a month, then was off methotrexate in 2 weeks. That was over a year and a half ago, no symptoms and no drugs needed.

  • Please help. I use butter/ghee or coconut oil and my sunny side up eggs stick to the stainless steel pan. I use canola and they slide out perfectly intact. Canola is bad for the body but whatever is in it sure helps my cooking. Can I get a pass on using canola?!

  • And We Have a BACKWARDS Food Pyramid From When Humans Were Grain-Eating Field Slaves and Money Was The Factor in Determining Diet.

  • Greetings
I just started watching and listening to you today! My wife’s mom is on your code red lifestyle and I’m very impressed!
Quickly I’m a farmer who loves motocross and pushing my body limits, my gym/endurance trainer has me eating 6 meals a day, and carb load 2 days before each motocross event!!
After seeing the results from my mother in law I’m very interested in any changes you may suggest, books, videos etc.
During the winter months I work out 3 days a week which turns into 5 days a week once the snow melts.
Any suggestions I would very much appreciate your time, thank you kindly
    -Sonny

  • The hardest thing for me to wrap my head around when starting Code Red was that is is okay/good to eat the healthy fats. We’ve been fed the information about Fat-Free for so long (most of my life) that it felt weird to make sure to plan for fats in my meals. Letting go of the breads (those ‘healthy’ whole-grain, wheat, sprouted, etc breads) was difficult, not to mention the sweets that I am so addicted to, but I was amazed at how quickly the inflammation and therefore the joint pain! left my body… THANK YOU, Cristy for all the information you share!

  • Low carb for 10 years, TC over 230 LDL over 140 and finally high blood pressure, CV disease, etc. In the long term for me it is not working.

  • The myth for me is about the grains and beans being healthy and how much you need those in your diet, it’s been an eye-opening experience to be a code red rebel!

  • It was a very nice video, I started to make videos about health, if you are interested, you can visit my channel.

  • “I used to think too much protein would kick you out of keto. But new research show…. ” I really respect someone with integrity. Thanks for that.

  • The analogies you use are everything. This is why I enjoy watching your videos, you are great at analyzing the situation and explaining your reasoning behind everything to where you can passively watch your videos while making pancakes (at least that’s what I’m currently doing lol) but still comprehend what you’re trying to get across to your audience. Your relationship with food changes EVERYTHING and I’ve learned how to have a healthy relationship with macro counting, flexible dieting, and “intermittent” fasting through watching your videos and following you. Thanks so much for your high quality content!! It’s truly appreciated.

  • Just a general Question. I’ve been intermittently fasting for 3 weeks now, and have maintained a ketogenic state for about 2 of it. Is it ok to once in a While have like a peach or a dragon fruit? Not going overboard but at least just enjoying a Favourite fruit from time to time.

  • Changing my life one video and recipe at a time Thank you so much for all the knowledge you share it makes such a difference!

  • Does this mean I can do 50% protein? Is there still a protein limit or ratios I need to follow (calorie deficit naturally)??? @Thomas Deleur

  • I so believe this! When I first started as a Code Red rebel I felt lethargic and had a dull headache for a few days. Now, I feel energized and ready to take on each day. I am amazed at how good my body feels and how the weight to steadily coming off! Thank you Cristy and Code Red!

  • Search fruitarians and high carb Vegans and you will see the most health skinny people on the internet. They eat nothing but unlimited carbs.

Wow

  • Been watching your videos taken your advice on Keto what to eat what not to eat and I’ve lost 7 pounds the 1st week. now on week 2

That’s all I have to say.

Dietary fats are just as responsible as refined carbs in etiology of diabetes. Dietary fat intake in USA is 35-43% today.

  • Is it a good idea to take BHB while doing a keto diet? Possibly you already have a video on this topic? I am fairly new to this and have watched many of your videos…thank you for all the great info!

  • Please do an inflammation for idiots video. I’ve watched lots of your videos and I’m still totally lost when it comes to inflammation

  • I love this idea! I have been battling that thought of just having one and being ok with it so I will for sure give this a try when Im having those cravings. Eat one of my meals first then see what I eat just to fill that craving rather than eating the craving until Im full. Thanks for these thoughts. Im also going to share it with my father who has a big struggle with carbs. THANK YOU!

  • Please help. I use butter/ghee or coconut oil and my sunny side up eggs stick to the stainless steel pan. I use canola and they slide out perfectly intact. Canola is bad for the body but whatever is in it sure helps my cooking. Can I get a pass on using canola?!

  • Strange this video explains how not all sugar is the same, and your body does not treat all sugar the same. Then ends with sugar is sugar as if to say all sugar is the same. You can substitute carbohydrate for sugar in this statement. The video, and as a result its creators, and producers lose credibility by contradicting themselves.
