While vitamin C has been linked to shortening the duration of the common cold (it’s never been proven.

There are many more benefits of consuming citrus fruits beyond vitamin C. The citrus fruits help to improve uneven skin tone. Apart from vitamin C, citrus contains fibre, potassium, folate, calcium, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and a variety of phytochemicals. Oranges, in addition to containing vitamin C, also provides substantial amounts of vitamin B1, dietary fiber, potassium and folic acid. Pectin, a fiber found in citrus, is known to significantly lower blood cholesterol levels. 5 of the Most Surprising Benefits of Citrus Fruits.

Citrus fruit (think: oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit) serves up more than just vitamin C! Here are the many ways nutrient-packed citrus can benefit your health, from aiding with weight loss. One of the most significant health benefits of vitamin C is the role it plays in the growth and repair of body tissues. Vitamin C assists in the manufacture of proteins which help to make new skin and blood vessels. Similar to how vitamin C makes an essential contribution to the growth and repair of skin, it also helps with the wound healing. While citrus is an excellent source of vitamin C, a veggie—bell peppers—comes out on top.

One cup of chopped raw red bell pepper (about the size of a tennis ball) packs 200 to 300 milligrams. Vitamin C: 9% of the Daily Value (DV) Lemon peel packs a high amount of fiber and vitamin C, providing 9% of the DV in only 1 tablespoon (6 grams) (. Time to spice things up! • Hi There…If Vit C is good, then Papaya seeds might even be better!
According to this Biomedical research paper below, Papaya seeds showed more POWERFUL antioxidant potential than Ascorbic Acid………Wow! Mind blowing! Check it out….

“Antioxidant Activity of Papaya Seed Extracts’
“This data presented in this paper indicates that the ethyl acetate fraction of papaya seed extract had the strongest antioxidant activity, and the n-butanol fraction had the second strongest antioxidant activity. The DPPH and the hydroxyl free radical-scavenging activities of the ethyl acetate fraction were stronger than those of ascorbic acid and sodium benzoate, respectively, indicating that the antioxidant components in papaya seeds mainly concentrated in the ethyl acetate fraction and the n-butanol fraction. The amount of total phenolics and total flavonoids in ethyl acetate fraction were the highest among all fractions, and that in n-butanol fraction took the second place. It is reported that p-hydroxybenzoic acid and vanillic acid which are widely found in fruits and vegetables have strong antioxidant activities [34,35,36,37,38]. Our results indicated that p-hydroxybenzoic acid and vanillic acid are the main constituents of the ethyl acetate fraction, accounting 75% of the total, so the two compounds contribute to the antioxidant activities of the ethyl acetate fraction from the seeds of papaya. Therefore, papaya seeds and these compounds might be used as natural antioxidants.”

  • I have read reports from South Korea and China that intravenous injection of vitamin C is very beneficial for Covid 19 patients..many left intensive care after 2 day’s these were independent doctors

  • I loved the video!!!! It’s full of interesting informations and i got to learn new things.. So proud of you and this qualitative work!

  • Why are so many “educated” people skeptical of Vitamin C as a supplement? I’ve taken at least 6 grams a day for over 25 years. I’m 68 and take no medications. Eating well is very important too. (nutritionfacts.org) Polio and near death Swine flu have been cured with IV Vitamin C.

  • Thank you. I have always believed in vitamin C and do appear young for my age. This confirms my commitment to sticking with the Vit C. Looking forward to more info from you. Keep being an inspiration for all of us! Luv to U

  • The first speaker gave me many insights into the life of Linus and Ava Helen Pauling. Many thanks to Oregon State University for publishing this video and for taking care of the Linus Pauling papers, awards, letters and documents concerned with his life!

The second speaker had me hanging on the edge of my chair to catch all the details of the tests on rats and their response to supplementing with nutrients.
You need to footnote and/or show in the video description how to contact the second speakers data on supplementing with acetyl-L carnitine and/or Lipoic acid.

True it was a study in rats…but I still want to know what dosage they found to be effective.
Besides, rats can make their own vitamin C…so measure how much C was in their blood and/or livers too.

Linus Pauling was a genius to have started the orthomolecular branch of medical science. What a tragedy to be completely ignored by modern medicine. The AMA can go directly to hell for whatever they’ve accomplished in the last forty years.

Thanks again for adding to the Linus Pauling legacy

  • Yikes, I just started watching this.  I am interested in Pauling, but this Peterson guy greatly needs to improve his public speaking.  He is talking much too fast, too low, and he needs to enunciate much better.

  • I found the reference to the high incidence of infection when people use catheters. A good friend of mine had MS and used a catheter. She also had trouble with infection. However, as long as she was able to disinfect the equipment using the colloidal silver I made, she never became infected. You can soak the tubing, etc in the colloidal silver solution with complete safety.

  • ascorbic acid is not vitamin C ; this video is an infomercial for the vitamin industry. you want real vitamin C? eat lemons, gooseberries, acerola cherries and citrus fruits.

  • Healthspan! What a great-sounding metric much better than lifespan, which we inflate in the US by keeping people “alive” in nursing homes as long as possible.

  • Very instructive Video!!!!! Your mode of communication over this miraculous Vitamin is very clear and your way of staying young and healthy is very inspiring.
Now I know what I have to add on my daily diet….was really missing this information
    Thank you so so much!!
Looking forward for such more interesting videos ✌

  • It has sexual benefits too improving erectile health by boosting blood flow and improving skin condition on the penis by increasing collagen production. A lotion like Man1 Man Oil with the vitamin and designed for the penis is a great way to deliver it directly where it’s wanted.

  • 3,000+ vitamin C, methylated B vitamins, zinc with copper has been godsend!! Pregnant women pass down their stress to fetus if they experience a stressful trauma, child will suffer from high stress for no reason other than a genetic transfer for the rest of his life. I was born highly sensitive to stress, heck my hearing is as sharp as that of an owl due to it, any little sound at night would wake me up but since taking this stack for a few months now not only do I sleep better, I seem to be able to make better decisions with my meals because I no longer crave/binge, and slowly but surely I’m regaining my energy and stamina

  • Thumbs up..many people out there are very skeptical of vit C and bring up nasty things about Linus Pauling.. When they do I ask them.. So how many Nobel prizes do you have?. lol

  • Good video. Except i kept hearing small little sound effects in the background. Lol. I thought it was my phones messaging notifications. It was low the sound. But still able to hear it.

  • LP died from the big C. Beware of mono therapy like this it cannot be good for the body. Firstly large doses of anything cause an imbalance in the body. Secondly, C tends to block copper absorption and accelerates Iron. Last but not least the side effects are gastric disturbances that upset gut health. There are better antioxidants like SOD and Glutathione.

  • Very informative video, love that you’ve quantified the research with good data and good nutrition, not to mention a huge dose of INSPIRATION!

  • Is citric acid E 330 the same as ascorbic acid?
Because google says it is not?
Can i take cheap citric acid instead of expensive ascorbic acid or is that dangerous? Please help if you know if citric acid from the store is bad for me orally. Answer would be hugely appreciated? THX

  • Wow! 56 years young indeed. you make most 20year olds looks unfit…. thank you for this great information yes vitamin C is KING,a nd so are you for this amazing information

  • Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo. J ai toujours pensé que la vitamine C servait uniquement à aider l absorption de certaines vitamines et à booster le système humanitaire.
