Share it: February is American Heart Month, and it takes on significant meaning for many people, given that cardiovascular disease is the number 1 cause of death in this country. “Honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work.” –1 Thessalonians 5:12 This is an area that needs serious work and correction in the lives of many believers. It is never acceptable to criticize, gossip or make cutting remarks about a pastor, minister or church leader, as these acts are in direct disobedience to the Word of God. * [5:1–11] The sin of Ananias and Sapphira did not consist in the withholding of part of the money but in their deception of the community.
Their deaths are ascribed to a lie to the holy Spirit (Acts 5:3, 9), i.e., they accepted the honor accorded them by the community for. Honor God with your talents – These are your God-given gifts and abilities. See Matthew 25:14-30. Honor God with your temple – This means your body.
See 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. Honor God with your treasure – This means your finances. As Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
