The KetoGains calculator estimated me at 1350 or so for weight loss and I was like wait, I don’t want to track calories, and that sounds low?!   • I disagree Mark, you can eat a plant based raw vegan diet that has “both” carbs and fats. You are demonizing a plant based diet by making it seem like its all about carbs and zero fats which is completely untrue. Raw food diet has both: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and yes if you want legumes nothing going to harm you. And as far as protein what do animals eat such as cows? Plants! Well unless they are not shoved with grains, corn, and soy to fatten them up.

  • Interesting�� Whenever I calculate my Keto diet macros for weight loss I always find the calories to be around 1300 per day. I am never sure, however, if I am losing weight because of the very low carbs or because I’m only eating 1300 calories (after all, 1300cals per day should result in weight loss regardless of the particular diet you follow).   • It actually does work you have to do calories in and calories out. You have to burn more than you’re taking in and most people dont. It takes probably 30 to 40 min of intense working out to even burn 1000 calories.   • It actually does work you have to do calories in and calories out. You have to burn more than you’re taking in and most people dont. It takes probably 30 to 40 min of intense working out to even burn 1000 calories. Most people who say it doesnt work either ate over the calories they should’ve and dont want to admit it or didnt burn enough.

If you haven’t heard about it, I don’t know what kind off doctor you are. I think that someone is paying you to promote eating animal protein when lots of studies show how animal protein contributes to cancer, diabetes, dimentia, kidney stones, blindness, bone density loss and many others.

  • Omg this is so unfair. Every single item on the do not eat side, are all the foods that I only eat. ���� this is going to be a nightmare for me.

  • CICO (calories in calories out) is not a theory, it’s a law. A lot of people who counted calories properly had achieved weight loss goals. For example, look at bodybuilders and fitness bikini competitors who are counting calories and weighing their food. If it’s done properly then the result is 100% achievable without exceptions. They get to extremely low body fat levels and it’s almost impossible without counting calories. The exception is simple starvation.

    But I must admit it’s not easy for everyone to diet this way and many people underestimate how much calories they eat and overestimate how much calories they burn. So they think CICO is not working for them. And for them, it’s easy just to cut off some food groups and lose weight with believing that it’s all about hormones and calories don’t matter. Keto, paleo, carnivore, vegetarian it’s all restricted diets and at the beginning, any person will be automatically in a calorie deficit and they start to lose weight.

    And when they reach plateau even with their ‘best’ diet plan I hope they will learn and do their own research that calories do matter and they will have to cut some off somehow.

    I still think that keto is a good way to lose weight and almost all my clients are on keto actually. But I don’t want anyone to get under influence of keto or any other cult.

  • Simplified: we crave sugars/alcohol when our microbiome has been affected by antibiotics and other drugs, also pesticides and herbicides in non-organic food, and it is in a state of chaos/dysbiosis and maybe there is a Candida overgrowth and Candida is a yeast which feeds on sugar, craving sugar. The best way to get away from sugar is to switch to Paleo or Ketogenic diet, also eat only organic to avoid pesticide toxins which work as antibiotics and destroy the good gut flora/microbiome, and filter your water, and then every time you get a sugar or alcohol craving do the following: open a capsule of non-GMO L-glutamine or use non-GMO L-glutamine powder (1/8 tsp = 500 mg, 1/4 tsp = 1000 mg) under your tongue and let melt. It will stop the craving (this advise comes from one female US medical doctor interviewed in an online gut webinar, she said it helps all her clients). I have just started doing the L-glutamine.   • Hi Kait! ��This was great. Wish you would expound a little more. There has to be a calorie threshold somewhere for a body in this to lose weight. Not to be crazy about it but there has to be a deficit for our bodies to even need to tap into the stores right? I eat meat and veggies everyday. From 6-8 hr window. No weight loss in 2 months. Grrrrr

  • This is a really good video. I can’t remember that I ever saw a video on this topic that broke it down to the relevant factors so well, and then concluded that fasting is an effective way to target those factors. While you were explaining everything, I was hoping you would come to the fasting conclusion. And I was not disappointed.
    It’s always amazes me how many experts are huge proponents of calories in vs calories out, while completely ignoring that caloric need is not a static number.

  • Personally, I burn way more than I should. The highest calculators give me maybe 3800 kcal. But with that, I already lose weight. Stable at 4200-4800 kcal. And that despite the fact that my metabolism should have been downregulated as hell, when I went ill some years ago and lost way too much weight.

  • Stop eating carbs. Is easy if you know what to eat and can cook well. Once you get used to it….gets easy. I used to weigh over 220 and have been able to hover around 150 for 20 years now by just not eating bread type products and pasta very often. I drink the hxx outta regular soft drinks too. Eat lots of candy…chocolate etc. So basically no bread or pasta…i think it’s got to do with being wheat more than sugar

  • 6:55 Twinkies are not real food… 8:33 Pepsi uses cheap government subsidized high fructose corn syrup…high frutose corn syrup in the gut causes leaky gut and more…sugar feeds cancer… Gatorade does not have many electrolytes and has loads of sugar.

  • Guys I know these are expensive but these are insanely healthy but if u take a close look at these, just ditch the snacks and soda and other unhealthy stuff that u buy and if u focus on only buying these, you’ll still have money left lol!

  • I’m just tracking carbs now and I let the rest take care of themselves. It’s really hard to keep carbs under 50. Avocados, a stable keto, is packed with carbs, for example..

  • I tracked religiously for the first five months, BUT realized I was turning keto into a calorie restriction diet. This last month I stopped tracking and deliberately upped my calories. I still lost my usual seven pounds and ate more. I ate a bit too much fat and will pull back on that increasing my protein. It is hard at first, but I think I am well on my way to a more intuitive approach. I have lost 60 pounds since November and have about 25 pounds to go (5’8” 68 years old, SW 224 present weight 165– goal weight 140-145 lbs)

  • Interesting�� Whenever I calculate my Keto diet macros for weight loss I always find the calories to be around 1300 per day. I am never sure, however, if I am losing weight because of the very low carbs or because I’m only eating 1300 calories (after all, 1300cals per day should result in weight loss regardless of the particular diet you follow). I shall definitely have to try not counting calories and see if that works better ��
