  • The recipe I use for chocolate chip cookies uses brown sugar and powdered sugar instead of white sugar, and they are DELICIOUS. They’re not crunchy, they’re kinda softer, but they taste good even without chocolate (Some of my family members prefer them without chocolate chips)

    pour the brown butter straight into the measuring jug straight off the stove. From my experience, it bubbled over and I lost half of my brown butter.

    Maybe don’t brown the butter until you see the dark brown bits. That “nutty” flavor isn’t all that cracked up to be, personally. Or maybe don’t brown it and just cream it. Whichever one.

    And the expresso powder? I’m strange in that I hate coffee but hearing them say It’ll just make it savory and not coffee-like, I tried and it tastes strange. It doesn’t taste like chocolate chip cookie dough, it smells like coffee cookie dough now. So maybe take that away. I added pisco to overcome he taste but God, its ruined.

    So yeah, uh, heads up, careful if you want to even brown the butter and maybe don’t add expresso powder

  • Is it just me or is this recipe whack? The cookies came out unbelievably greasy and flattish. Looking at other cookie recipes it seems I can work out why. Whilst some recipes call for 100 g butter for the same flour amounts whilst this cookie recipe this asks for over double. They came out with a sickening amount of grease. I used grams as I’m in the UK but reading comments below alot of people had the same problem so lowered the butter /increased the flour beating the whole point of the best recipe which needs adjusting?
