  • Can anyone comment a sport I may enjoy of have been on and off with multiple sports and cannot choose one I would immensely appreciate it if you did suggest a sport.

  • I got the king and baseball because I am a softball player but I will take baseball because is basically softball but played by men, the ball is whiter and smaller, and they pitch over hand

  • I feel more impaired without having a disability than these athletes, they make their sports sound so easy. I realize they have fought the hardest and fought some more after that to get where they are now.

  • In the last race of crosscountry skiing Marit Bjørgen from Norway became the biggest winterolympian of all time (pyeong chang, 2018) you shoul update your list

  • @robotchiken224 yeshe got hurt during practice. i think for slopestyle? cause i know he didn’t compete in slopestyle but did in superpipe

  • @turkeyjazz the problem is that olympics try to keep everything as safe as possible and within the athlete’s limits. Xgames/ dew tour know that these people know their limits…and push themselves beyond those. The Olympics wont let a discipline that requires such skill/balls/ sick people as these to ever invade the Olympics. Having said that…i agree, they would be sick in the olympics, not as sick as the Xgames though.

  • Heiden should be number 1. No one will ever do what he did again. He won gold in every single speed skating event from the 500 to the 10000.
    All in one Olympics.

  • Also, why is it fair if a Paralympic athelete is just as good as an Olympic athlete, yet they are forced into an “easier” competition… I don’t think it’s that fair

  • Hermann Maier ist the greater olympic athlete than aamodt, yeah aamodt has won more medals, but y?
Because Maier had a horrible accident in 2001 and still won silver against aamodt in 2006. When Hermann was fit in his prime at the end of the 1990 aamodt had no chance whatsoever against the Herminator+ he fucking chrashed horrible in Nagano two days before winning a gold medal.
Nothing speaks more olympic spirit than the attitude and sheer will of Hermann Maier in the slope, he truly was a skiing terminator.

  • I was lucky enough to meet Apolo Ohno 10 years ago. He was so down-to-earth when I had met him at his book signing. I still have it and a picture of me meeting him to this very day.

  • “Claudia Pechstein is a German speed skater. She has won five Olympic gold medals. With a total of nine Olympic medals, five gold, two silver and two bronze, she was the most successful Olympic speed skater, male or female, of all-time, until the gold medal of Ireen Wüst in the 2018 Winter Olympics of PyeongChang, and also the most successful German Winter Olympian of all-time.”

Wüst is the youngest Dutch Olympic champion in the history of the Winter Games. At the age of nineteen, on 12 February 2006, she won the gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games 3000 metre event; four years later at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games she won the 1500 metre event; at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games she won two gold and three silver medals, making her the most decorated athlete at the Sochi Games.[1] Following her most recent victory in the 1500 metres at the 2018 Winter Olympics she has won a record ten Olympic medals, more than any other speed skater, making her the most successful athlete of the Netherlands at the Olympics. She is also a six-time world allround champion, a twelve-time world single distance champion, and a five-time European allround champion.

  • The ranking done by the active times that were used in the video was done before the Sochi olympics. A weird choice since the list would probably be fairly different now, both before and after PyeongChang.

  • I still would have wanted to see the king of biathlon Ole E. Bjørndalen take first place. I did however miss Marit Bjørgen up there with 12 olympic medals. She is also ranked first in the all time criss country world cup rankings with 106 individual victories. The queen is still collecting medals in the 2018 olympic

  • This list is a joke. But what do you expect from people who think speedskating is an important way of transportation in the Netherlands. Ireen Wüst has won a gold medal (also individually) at 4 Olympics in a row. She should be on this list, not some doped up speedskater from Germany.

  • Amy Purdy is so purdy! I mean, pretty! She’s not the only one, too. It’s funny how so many Olympic-level athletes are so good-looking. Must be that whole “pinnacle of human achievement” thing they have going on.

She has 15 Olympic medals… Of which 8 are golden… She’s simply THE MOST DECORATED WINTER OLYMPIAN EVER!

  • Marit Bjørgen from Norway now have a total of 15 medals in the winter olympics, 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze. She is the most winning of all time.

  • All are great players. but I think Eric Heiden is the best of the best. It is an achievement that can not come back again in the next 500 years.

  • My brother is 10 and he came up to me yesterday and was like “so whats with this gus guy? The athlete….?” I had no accurate explanation.

  • Norway’s taking four, and that’s great. Buuuuuut uh… Aksel Lund Svindal is about to beat all four of them? Ring any bell whatsoever?

  • My grandmother was a famous speedskater who almost made it to the olympics. She watches them every year and always seems kind of sad she never got her shot

  • Did they forget Crosby Really? Didn’t Crosby win the medal for Most Gold medals for Canada.
Or do Countries not fit the category just the players?

  • Maybe you should wait this Olympia!?! No honorble Mentions?
Most decoratetd People (without 2018) = Thomas Alsgaard, Clas Thunberg, Larissa Lasutina, Claudia Pechstein, Viktor Ahn, Lidija Skoblikowa, Ljubow Jegorowa, Marit Bjørgen, Björn Dählie, Ole Einar Björndalen.
Claudia Pechstein was not positiv testet on Blood Doping. Ist to difficult to explain it in englisch for me. Short Story. Her Values of reticulocytes in the Blood was a bit to high. Later Doctors from the DGHO in Germany Attest her an androgenic (?) Bloodanomaly.

  • Kim yu-na anyone? Queen yu-na? I mean seriously she’s 4th most donated athlete in the world.(It could be changed by now.) Anyway, seriously no one knows her? Wow. This is really shocking.

  • No Canadians and no Dutch? Cindy Klassen of Canada won 5 speed skating medals in one Olympics. Where is she?
Clara Hughes of Canada is the only Olympian to win multiple medals in both the summer and winter games. Where is she?

    Irene Wurst
    Sven Kramer
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are the most decorated figure skaters ever.

Yet you include Eric Heiden and the whiny dirty skater Apollo? They’re not even top 50.

  • Ok first problem. They way they score some of it is too limiting cause honestly even with a ton of medals that doesn’t always mean your well known (eg eddie the eagle, the Jamaican bobsled team poor performance but still are well known and very interesting) secondly the list should also look at some of the record or ground breaking moments in there considering (torvile and dean bolaro first ever perfect 6, Nagano Olympic hockey finals)
This list should be redone with the 2018 Olympics factors in cause the list would definitely have changed (eg tessa virtue and scott moir now one of the most decorated ice dance teams in Olympic history and broke some world record or the Us girl who landed her triple axle) it’s just my opinion but the list should take into the other often more memorable things that make great Olympic athletes and some honerable mentions for cripes sake

  • This list is wrong…. is WM staff even watching the 2018 Olympics. Ireen Wust literally has more total medals than Pechstein.
Also Bjørn Dæhlie is NOT tied with Ole Einar Bjørndalen he is 1 behind Bjørndalen at 12, Bjørndalen is on 13 medals. You didnt even mention Marit Bjørgen. SMH.

  • I don´t mean to ask but i´m a little worried that some of the videos on the channel are using to much stand still photographs, is there a problem with youtube that i don´t know of or is it that quality of the videos is dropping???

  • To be honest Norway could have their own separate list! Aksel Lund Svindal, Marit Bjørgen, Thomas Alsgaard, Frode Estil, Petter Northug, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Emil Hegle Svendsen, Halvar Hanevold, Tora Berger, Bjarte Engen Vik, Birger Ruud, Hjalmar Andersen, Ivar Ballangrud, Johan Olav Koss! Just a few of many to add on the list! A Top 10 list would be too small lol! Norway has over 30 different athletes who won a minimum 2 gold medals! Would be funny to see how you guys would rank them.

  • I know it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth to get the rights to the footage, but it would’ve been nice to have some reference material

  • How many people are upset at the “5Gs of pressure.” I say that because a G is an acceleration force of Earth’s avg gravity of 9.8 m/s^2. Oh and we all undergo 5 G’s in our life, but a sustained 5G while controlling something is hard.

  • Come on guys, they’re Olympians. They’re not supposed to be smart. 5 G’s of pressure, and blind skiing being as safe as normal skiing is what you’d expect to be said. hopefully one day I can experience one G…wait sitting down is one G

  • Just glancing through the comments, I already know that they’re going to have to do over this list, or make one of their “Another Top 10” episodes.

  • I’m staying with horses bye— IM A PROUD EQUESTRIAN RODE MY WHOLE LIFE!! First time I did da horse I was 3, mom walked me around while I was on his back, there’s even a family photo on it

  • How much longer do you think there will be any cities able to host winter Olympic and Paralympic games with Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) melting all the snow?

  • Not sure why you guys didnt mention alpine skiier from croatia, Janica Kostelic. She won 4 golds and 2silvers on two olympic games which makes her the most sucesfull female in the history of the alpine skiing?

  • For one, these videos should at least have some video clips, where they can. A countdown of pictures and stats is basically a history lesson. Also, Shaun White doesn’t even get a mention?! #bringbackhonorablementions

  • Of course Asians are figure skaters. How convenient it is for team USA to have blacks running track, Asians figure skating and Russians doing the gymnastics

  • I got the king and I have been playing basketball and soccer for a couple of years now. I have always wanted to try playing baseball.

  • Dream! You’re the best! Your work has inspired me to start my own YouTube channel about one of my passions. Thank you so much for your awesome videos. Keep it up!
