Just get into a relaxed state (mindfulness protocols are the best way to do this) and then exclusively pursue or anticipate pursuing productive activity for periods of a half hour or so, and voila, you will have a flow or eudaemonic experience. It is that simple.

  • Half of this is total bs. You can’t draw conclusions on someone picking an image and then apply it to important stuffs. As for those saying they’re happy despite very painful experiences… it’s more like a refusal to admit the failure and the weakness so they don’t lose courage.

    If you admit you are weak and not happy, it will just add more negativity to an already fragile state, so yeah it’s just an illusion.   • A long time ago I was hired by a district manager to work for my supervisor. He had broken a leg at the time and was not available for the interviews and hiring process. He was absolutely miserable with me. He sabotaged me by not training me, then harassed me by treating me like I was stupid in front of others and gave others a head start on projects, forgetting to tell me and I had to try hard to catch up. I was so happy when he finally fired me.

  • I’m in a midlife crisis. It’s true, I’m never completely happy like I used to be when I was 20 and 30. I have my happy moments but when I realize I’m happy I immediately shift to anxiety that the happy moment is going to pass and I’ll be back to unhappy. I think since my mother got sick with cancer I’m not the same, even though I’m grateful for still having her, but is always in my thoughts like a Damocles Sword. I do find that gratefulness works, I’m trying to do it every day and I somehow feel better, not a 100 percent happy and energized, but still good.

    The problem is that you keep feeding those bad emotions instead of get action, also you don’t have a life purpose, “Oh I don’t do this, this is why I’m not happy” “Oh live in the now and you’ll be happy” Doesn’t matter how much of philosophy you put inside your life, you need like 80% of directly experience, let happiness flow inside you, stop caring about society expectations and you don’t need pursue happiness, joyfully is natural, you gotta live happy, do what makes you happy, fuck society expectations. Just do what makes you happy, don’t be lazy and say “Netflix and Chill” makes me happy, because nobody would feel happy after months of netflix and chill. The most important thing is to let happiness flowing inside you, existence is joyfully, if you are not feeling good to be alive right now is because you care about society expectations, about moralist beliefs, about beliefs that you hold, can’t you see how you are not letting happiness flow inside you? why the fuck you keep traping yourself in beliefs? stop holding things, the existence by itself is so joyfully god(the whole everything). I can understand the why of your anxiety, deeply you keep holding this need from social approval, for ego satisfaction, why are you afraid of living? why do you fear death so much? why do you even believe in death? Personally I believe in reincarnation, at this point you probably got so triggered that I can feel all your bullshit justifications, your rage, this need that you have to prove my wrong to yourself, you want my recognition of how smart that you are? why are you making such an effort and stressing yourself out just to keep holding beliefs? to keep being unsatisfied and unhappy?   • I am grateful for the cold freezing winds that have lasted, having been prolonged by the natural influence of planetary Pluto during mid-January. Snow and ice, phenomenon of cold nature, times of dormancy and stillness, these things are crystals, poignant patterns of energy that teach powerful lessons about life.

    I realize this, when I am relaxed there is a crystal of relaxation, it has a form or at least that is my theory. The crystal in itself inspired conditions and experiences of real relaxation and conversely such experiences can form the same crystal shapes if they are not already present.

    I am grateful because ice and freezing winds have kept me within where I can store enough warmth to be fairly comfortable, and they have made me realize I generate everything that I need. Nature creates quality, somehow its true, from the organs of our bodies, planetary order, to the greatest depths of the universe beyond what we know.

    The planets have a unique alignment at this time as they do at any moment in existence, energies mixing create differing fields of aura and influence, I am thankful for this planetary alignment right now within the solar system. Earth has a lot of clear space, The sun is on one side by day, and on the other at night, its totally clear with all of the other planets on the other side of the sun and earth facing the galaxy beyond as one. Meditating on this arrangement has led me to many insights and overall it is very good fortune, in my perception it represents immersion within the world accompanied by sufficiently alone time and uninfluenced introspection. From an astrology point of view perhaps its greatest teaching is that though astrology is a perception beyond the scope of our planet earth itself, it is still not without an aspect of night and day, impermanency and restoration, where attributes are fixed for a time, then have much greater fluidity, then return, as dreams do to the defined waking state again.

    When I began to look into astrology, I saw it as constant, sure changes happened over multiple months, years, and millenia, however for the most part it is an unchanging or only slightly changing symbol. As I became more accustomed to the description keys and general awareness of the heavens I actually discovered that dynamic change is actually not necessarily unlikely, however the basic structure of the universe as centralized by our minds within the eartth solar system is sturdy enough to endure those changes. There is more freedom to it than it seems! It is only a matter of adhering to its basic codes (or not! because those codes if they are real will reinforce themselves automatically in time).

And here the negativity flooded! “The Pound of tomatos is worth $1; its not worth the hassle! I gave her a critique look trying to figure out how her brain worked and realized that she had the negative thoughts syndrome. I explained to her:
    We have 10 unemployed highly educated professionals.
    we have around $10K of available funds for investment
    We have a farm in hand with a 200 square meters of leveled ground ready for hydroponic plastic house ready for execution
    We have all the tools required to create a plastic house
    we only need to invest in plants, seeds, airanator, some PVC pipes, so the invested amount will be no more than $900/
    a square meter of tomato plantation can give around 50Kgs of tomatos every 3 months
    if we take her calculation in to consideration that is $50 per square meter = $200 annually X 200 = $20,000/ and thats only if we are growing tomatoes.

  • Good Morning I LOVE this video! I am putting it within my “Thank-fullness” Lesson. I am a Visual Arts Teacher at Whitman Middle School in Whitman, MA. During this awful pandemic, I am trying to be as creative as ever to have my students be engaged. This video is touching and lets us think of how lucky we are to have people in our lives that we love. I have put within this lesson as well; how has this person positively impacted me and my life as well as what is special to them. Whether it be the sunset on a summers day, a pet, a cityscape or an image of a lighthouse. Create those images for this special person and write a small “thank you” note to them, expressing gratitude for what they have done for you. They may have laughed with you, loved you, taken care of you when you were sick, or pepped you up when you happened to be down. Then mail it to them, hand it to them, drop it off in their mailbox.   • if you can have control over your thoughts and emotions, you’d be very surprised to see how much impact it can have over your happiness. the best way that i recommend is meditation. starting with 5 minutes everyday and then 10 minutes and more later on you will be way more happier and in peace with yourself. consistency is the key.

    7. Meditation.
    20 minutes minimal per day.
    Focus on a blank mind and focus on the present.

    8. Flow.
    State of being in the moment and in the zone.
    Enter this doing something that is fairly challenging, but it matches your skill level. This may happen in the gym or playing a sport, or working on a project that you are passionate about. Focus on this thing for 1-2 hours.

    Learn to develop and master a skill. This will help you to enter a state of Flow.

    9. GOALS Set them!
    Constantly set and adjust goals.
    Have a career that you are passionate about.

When you seek teachers to transfer karma to you imbalance yourself and harm them.

    I looked at my computer today and its drive space was low, while I browsed means of expanding space I noticed 1 and 2 terabyte drives for 40 and 65 dollars. I didn’t make a purchase immediately, however I will soon. I want to respect my computer, a lovable Acer laptop PC, because computers have always been with me and helpful in my life, lately I notice a phenomena of more useless upgrades and intent of pure economy whereas before I think computer designers truly had a passion and feeling of novelty upgrading to 3D graphics and setting up the first windows microsoft systems interface, template, et cetera, now it seems more of the feeling of just a basic code being ever so slightly shifted and remapped then resold under a new updated name with little real quality change or improvement. Yi ching foresee this observation as a truth and encourages the gratitude for the slightly older systems, to increase in longevity rather than giving to new systems.

    I am giving gratitude for my system and now with a bit of love I am getting some new add ons that increase the usability of my current slightly faded system. Thank you, therefore, for the invention of the USB cable because I will be able to get both add ons, the external harddrive for space and the CD rom drive for about 60 to 80 dollars and when I get them in the mail I will easily be able to plug them into the USB port and have them functioning in likely under 1 minute.

    This is different from the Gamer Consoles that plug into TVs, fun is to be had there too, however there is something inherently more difficult about setting up consoles in my mind than setting up computers (that are pre built) I find it easier to tinker with a PC computer’s inner settings and interface through windows explorer than I do troubleshooting game console systems, I do not know why. The USB is one plug, its easy to find, even the other plugs on Desktop modules somehow just have a more friendly feel to me than game console plugs. Maybe its just the spirit of the personal computer itself calling to me as a rare friend.

    I appreciate the people who make PC computer games, even though I think that the ones getting all the attention lately are honestly not the best ones and it betrays the fact that there may be corrupt corporate influence at play here. I earnestly pray there can continue to be an open market and equal opportunity for game making companies/studios to produce truly innovative and wise games. May they not all be one style but many, variety and quality.

    I plan to keep looking into PC fantasy games rpgs that are nonmmorpg from any time between 1995 to present day especially in these coming weeks as I slowly make my decision on the new drives.   • On Happiness, a new perspective and procedure from Affective Neuroscience

    In affective neuroscience, it is well known that behaviors that involve continuous high and positive act/outcome discrepancy (gaming, gambling, creative work) correspond to elevated dopaminergic activity and a feeling of arousal, but not pleasure. However, for many individuals engaging in similar activity, a feeling of pleasure is also reported, but only when their covert musculature is inactive (i.e., a state or rest). Because relaxation activates opioid systems, and tension inhibits them, it is postulated that dopaminergic activity stimulates opioid activity, but only during resting states.

    This hypothesis can be easily tested and is described in greater detail below. If correct, it will demonstrate for the first time that elevated and sustained arousal and pleasure, or ‘eudaemonia’ or ‘happiness’ can be induced easily through simple modifications of abstract perceptual properties of behavior that anyone can easily do throughout the day.

    THE CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT OF POSITIVE AFFECT

    AFFECT AND MOTIVATION

    Opioid and dopamine systems represent bundles of neurons or ‘nuclei’ in the mid brain that are respectively responsible for the affective states of pleasure and attentive arousal, and sub-serve the neural processes that govern motivation.

    OPIOID AND DOPAMINE SYSTEMS ARE ACTIVATED BY DIFFERENT STIMULI EITHER VIRTUAL (COGNITIVE) OR REAL

    Eating and drinking, having sex, and relaxing or resting all activate opioid systems, whereas the anticipation or experience of positive act-outcome discrepancy (or positive surprises or meaning) activate dopamine systems.

    OPIOID AND DOPAMINE SYSTEMS CAN CO-ACTIVATE EACH OTHER

    Taking our pleasures increases our attentive arousal, and increasing our attentive arousal accentuates our pleasure. If these systems are concurrently activated both are accentuated or affectively ‘bootstrapped’, as both pleasure and attentive arousal will be higher due to their synergistic effects.

    OPIOID AND DOPAMINE SYSTEMS CAN BE CO-ACTIVATED THROUGH THE ARRANGEMENT OF SPECIFIC ACT-OUTCOME EXPECTANCIES OR RESPONSE CONTINGENCIES

    As characterized by the well documented ‘flow response’ (pp.82-86), consistently applied contingencies that elicit pleasurable resting states and consistent attentive arousal result in self-reports of heightened pleasure and energy. This emotional experience can be easily replicated by simultaneously applied contingencies that elicit rest (mindfulness protocols) and meaning (imminent productive behavior and its uniform positive implications). To achieve complete rest and accentuate positive affect, these contingencies must be applied for periods of at least a half hour or more. Just as one sets meditative sessions to last for a set time period and frequency to be effective, so mindfulness and meaning sessions must be similarly arranged, with cumulative sessions if possible charted to provide proper feedback of efficacy. Finally, the intensity of positive affect will scale to the importance or salience of moment to moment meaningful behavior, with the more meaningful the task the higher the pleasurable affect.

    IMPLICATIONS

    Affect is as much an aspect of how information is arranged as what information is, or the abstract rather than normative properties of behavior. It follows that as a positively affective state, happiness is not just a product of what we think, but how we think, and derives not only from our pleasures but also from our incentives. Positive incentives can accentuate those very pleasures that we wish to maximize, and conversely, associated pleasure will increase the ‘appetitive value’ or ‘liking’ of incentives (or in other words, increase the value of productive work), and all sustained by simple choices within our grasp, as is ultimately happiness itself.

  • I used to be a major downer, I was very depressed, I found 4 short YouTube videos like this one, which changed my life. I did the little exercises, I reconditioned my brain, I practiced smiling, being grateful, looking for the good Etc.In time I got so good at it, that I do it all the time as a habit. I feel so happy now, I love my life and the people around me. You can change, it is possible, no more depression. I also take St John’s Wort( one week a year in Winter) and I use 1000 watt halogen bulbs in the house, it is so bright the neighbors complained. Some people need extra light in the Winter, to regulate their mood. It all works. You can be happy, if you are not lazy, don’t be lazy, get to work! Peace

  • I am grateful for the green grass and the blue sky. I am grateful to be free and have no major obligations right now. I am grateful for the kindness and wisdom of those around me, and their efforts to sustain and promote goodness in the world.

    When my way of life yields its unique jewel, either in meditation, in amidst the flow of every day life, its jewel being the lotus flower of satori, there is no expression suitable for the thanks that my soul has.

    What has made me flexible and relaxed all these years is that simple insight, or satori, of true emptiness. What has allowed me to sustain my beginner’s mind and beginner’s heart is the mathematical truth that there is simply none.

    Starting from that point, I am able to extricate myself from a mind that flows like a river, from illusion to illusion, I am able to effect reality and truly live because it does not bind me as an absolute. Like watching a graph or matrix, I am aware of the eternal cosmic emptiness in it all, rather than only of the binary input information.

    Paradoxically, there are ways to strengthen our root to this liberating and infinite emptiness (which is akin to energy) one being the act of writing and attempting to reflect it in poignant words such as sutras.

    Each time I awaken to the truth, then express it, I am fastening it to a world that will otherwise be unconscious of itself. Therefore I am thankful for language because it serves as a doorway to freedom. The more clear reflection of reality, the less pain because the true possibility remains apparent. The energy is free, not blocked by the mind’s games.

    Emptiness reflects fullness.

    I am grateful for the power of thought vibration. As I go to school, the thoughts uplift me, I realize there is a deeper truth than I initially expected within it all. I feel, in the intellectual thoughts a satori based not in mere survival but actual transcendence.

    I see a fair world, a balanced world (almost surrealistically so, as if it were an intended depiction of balance in everything LOGOS EROS) of mathematical virtue. A world whose ultimate essence is 0, and yet play.

    It is not that which you see, it is that which you say; the flexibility of true zero is such.

    With the realization that this is a grid, and that our existence within it is merely a code not necessarily ultimate truth, we come to the wonder of gift of language. Its perhaps not the terms themselves but the context of the terms, what we are using them to describe.

    The experience of a school, and a fairly basic one at that is what seems truly alive, while almost everything else is only halfway conscious. Could it be that the terms are describing a school?

    A school that can only be activated by communication and not by pure learning itself for the sake of outward awards.

    Suddenly there’s no limit to what is possible, with the clarification that there is no real physical component to this.

    When it becomes about communicating with the world around you and even manifesting the greatest potential out of what can rightly be called even mathematically illusion, it becomes directly relevant to ones life.

    If the math is showing you that really it is nothing, you begin to recieve zen.

    You are not ‘gaijin’, you are not gauging. You are purely experiencing.

    At first it seems like merely using a discordant label, you have called it purple when really it is teal, later however, when the initial impulse to immediately label and clamp everything down dissipates you begin to see new colors you never experienced before.

    Then you have Japanese or hebrew (haskalah); languages that are designed as doorways back to the unconditioned mind, the place within is that is always new undesecrated and ‘holy’, set aside from the mundane world that is entirely grid based.

    It’s one thing to know it mentally and another to root it as a reflection of the truth of consciousness in written communication in the world.

    In this practice, we are in effect being our most effective in our lives and rooting everything directly to the best and most sublime even when that seems paradoxical (the best is few and the common many, right? But if we are able to transcend our own graphs and limits each day, or however often we like, without destroying the system itself, simply allowing it doorways in and out for each priceless soul within it to breathe in effect we realize that even those best things actually are available to us all, though physically we cant understand how.)
