At age 20 I started dieting to lose about 10 pounds. Six years and numerous diets later, I GAINED over 40 pounds! I was extremely depressed and my self-worth was in the toilet. My aha moment unexpectedly came after I started dating a new guy. After several months, I felt happier than I had in a long time. I started living and loving life again. After ten months together, I was suprised to discover I lost weight. It was only about 5 or 6 pounds but the point was I hadn’t been trying to lose weight. Years of struggling to lose weight why was I able to lose weight now without even trying? After some soul searching, I realized just how unhappy I was with issues going on in my life then, but had ignored these issues and blamed my weight for all the unhappiness I felt.
